Star Wars REBELS (2014) s01e50 Episode Script
Special (The Ultimate Guide)
You've passed the first test.
Once we'll begin, there's no turning back.
Got it? Follow my lead.
Let's go.
Holorecord 26714.
I am the Jedi, Kanan Jarrus, and this is how the crew of the Ghost came to join the Rebellion.
We started by wanting to fight the Empire.
Somebody had to do something about the terror and injustice they're spreading across the galaxy.
They called us pirates, criminals and now my favorite, rebels.
We're led by Captain Hera Syndulla, code name Spectre-2.
I say she's the best pilot in the Outer Rim, but I might be biased.
Hera's got a droid, Spectre-3, but we call him Chopper.
Mechanic, navigator and a general nuisance to us and the Empire.
Next up is Spectre-4, Garazeb Orrelios, a good friend and our muscle.
I think Zeb would be fighting stormtroopers even without us.
Finally, we have our young Mandalorian warrior, Sabine Wren, code name Spectre-5.
Demolitions, blasters.
She's turned fighting into an art form, one the Imperials dread.
- We were a well-oiled unit.
- How's it going? Things were going good.
And then this Loth-rat came along.
- Thanks for doing the heavy lifting.
- Who is that kid? Whoo! S01 Special - "The Ultimate Guide" The kid's name was Ezra Bridger, and I had to admire how he took on the Empire alone.
He was different.
You want a ride? He had something special.
Whoa.
- What happened down there? - He did.
I was just doing the same thing you were stealing to survive.
- You don't know us.
- We showed him a different way.
Grab a crate, pull your weight.
Who wants free grub? How to fight the Empire for those who couldn't.
- Thank you so much.
- I could stop and trade the rest - of the bounty for another bit of intel.
- The Wookiees? The Wookiees.
Next thing you know, he's tagged along on our next mission.
We captured an additional Wookiee prisoner and have transfer orders to place him with you.
That thing's not a Wookiee.
This whole thing was a setup.
Run! - Unfortunately, the operation went bad - Ah! Let go! - and he paid the price.
- Sorry, kid! - The kid got grabbed.
- What? They'll go easy on him.
He's just a kid.
Once again, though, the kid surprised us.
Bye, guys.
He was smart, probably too smart for his own good.
But quicker than a wild Loth-cat and pretty tough too, although Zeb just didn't like him.
First you ditch me.
Then you hit me? How was I supposed to know it was you? You were wearing a bucket.
Still, it was like he was meant to be with us.
Thank you.
I really didn't think you'd come back for me.
I'll get you home now.
I'm sure your parents must be worried sick.
I don't have parents.
He even led us to the spice mines of Kessel so we could finish our mission to free the Wookiees.
And it was there he got to see who I really am.
Hold, troopers.
Focus your fire on On the Jedi.
And maybe a look at who he could become.
Come with me and be trained in the ways of the Force.
You can learn what it truly means to be a Jedi.
Ezra's training would have to wait.
We had other business to take care of.
Do we know what exactly Vizago has us stealing yet? Whoa.
They're T-7 ion disrupters.
Get 'em aboard before company comes.
Keeping exotic weapons off the Empire's assembly lines is a full-time job.
- Hands up.
- Luckily, we got Zeb.
Describe the thieves.
I saw five.
And a Lasat.
The Empire has their own muscle though.
Agent Kallus.
Advance and fire! We would have lost Zeb that day if not for Ezra's use of the Force.
Nooo! Thanks, mate.
Appreciate the save.
It wasn't me.
It was Ezra.
I sensed that was the start of a friendship.
And it only got stronger when they got into trouble together.
Zeb! Hey, Zeb! Let me in! Spectre-4 to Ghost.
Go ahead, Spectre-4.
- Right.
- Well, we stole a TIE fighter.
- You what?! - He's taking it better than I thought.
- Get rid of it.
- Do we have to? Wait.
What's that? The kid was rough around the edges, but I could see he was beginning to trust more in the Force.
Mr.
Sumar! - Ezra! - Hold on.
I'll have you out soon.
- Got you.
- Thanks for the save.
- I guess I owe you now.
- Let's just say we're eternally even.
Ah! Oh.
Hera convinced me I couldn't put off his training any longer, so train him I did or thought I'd try.
Focus.
Focus on letting go.
Letting go? Rather hold on, if you don't mind.
- Do or do not.
There is no try.
- What does that even mean? How can I do something if I don't try to do it? Actually, that one always confused me too, but Master Yoda sure used to say it a lot.
This is Senator-in-Exile Gall Trayvis.
Jedi Master Luminara Unduli is alive.
- This Luminara You knew her? - She was a great Jedi Master.
We can't pass this up.
The truth is, I was sure Luminara would be a better teacher for Ezra.
- Good luck.
- Try to stay focused.
I thought there was no try.
Kid, wait! What are you doing? What just happened? You were supposed to exit with Zeb.
You're lucky every stormtrooper in the prison doesn't know we're here.
Whoa! - Is it really her? - Yes, but something's wrong.
My fears had led us all into danger.
- I don't understand.
- No? It doesn't seem complicated.
I am the Inquisitor.
Welcome.
The Inquisitor was an agent of the Empire sent to hunt down any surviving Jedi.
Are you paying attention, boy? The Jedi are dead, but there is another path.
- The dark side.
- Never heard of it.
- Does yours do that? - Come on.
Let's go! - You figured out it was a trap? - Yeah.
Luminara? - Long gone.
Our new exit? - Landing platform.
We were lucky to have escaped with our lives.
But I learned something.
Ezra, I'm not gonna try to teach you anymore.
If all I do is try, that means I don't truly believe I can succeed.
So from now on, I will teach you.
I may fail, you may fail, but there is no try.
I understand, Master.
Didn't get any easier for the kid.
Next he had to join the Academy as a cadet to infiltrate the Imperial Headquarters.
At least this time he had some backup to help him steal the Empire's secrets.
Decode the hyperspace coordinates and get them to Spectre-1.
- This decoder better be worth the risk.
- What's the alternative? Do you want to stop that Kyber shipment or not? If you're not too busy, attack the Academy tomorrow at noon.
I could use the diversion so I can get out of here.
- It wasn't enough for Ezra to get away.
- Get in.
He helped others escape too.
But when all you do is hit and run, never really winning a battle, it can challenge your faith in your mission and each other.
Sometimes it seems like the harder we fight, the harder things get out there.
I feel like we can't take down the Empire on our own.
That's why I need to know this isn't all for nothing.
I need to know that I am not walking into another nightmare here.
Sabine, run! Spectre-2 to Spectre-4, come in.
- We have a situation.
- We're on our way.
Ghost out.
They're coming in from both sides.
There's always something out there trying to tear us apart.
They just keep coming.
But when things are darkest, we always come through for each other.
- At least we have so far.
- Sabine, I got your back.
I know you have questions, questions I can't answer right now.
But we are making a difference, Sabine, and I promise, we won't always be fighting this battle alone.
In the Force, Ezra would discover you're never alone.
Make a connection with another being.
You're connected to every living thing in the universe.
But to discover that, you have to let your guard down.
You have to be willing to attach to others.
Empire Day was a turning point for Ezra and all of us.
Okay, let's start the celebration.
Copy that.
Commencing festivities.
These rebels have ruined Empire Day! - They must be punished.
- We all want that, Minister.
But our priority is still the Rodian.
The name's Tseebo, a friend of my parents.
But something's wrong.
What's that thing on his head? What's he saying? He's detailing Imperial fighter deployments on Lothal.
That's it.
Tseebo has intel the Empire doesn't want getting out.
We'll need to smuggle him off Lothal.
Get in.
Go! Go! Shields won't hold long under this barrage.
Ezra.
Ezra Bridger.
Ezra Bridger.
What's he saying? He says he knows what happened to your parents.
I already know what happened.
They're dead.
Hang on! - I sense movement in the Force.
- Yes.
The tracker indicates the rebel ship has emerged from hyperspace.
As Hera got Tseebo to safety, Ezra and I lured the Inquisitor into a trap.
Or at least that was the plan.
One with the Force.
One with the Force.
One with the Force.
One with the Force.
- Don't be afraid! - I'm not afraid of them.
I'm afraid of I'm afraid of the truth.
Sorry.
I'm sorry.
I forgive you, Tseebo.
I, too, am sorry.
Forgive me.
They're here, all right.
The rebel ship is inside.
Keep them contained.
I want them alive.
Sir, they're not alone.
Shoot it, shoot it! I made a mistake.
No! I underestimated Ezra's growing power and what he might do with it.
Ezra? No.
I hadn't prepared him for the power of the dark side.
The time had come to see if he had what it took to become a Jedi.
The Jedi Temple would be where Ezra's real trial began.
In here, you'll have to face your worst fears and overcome them.
The Inquisitor.
Kanan, no! Your master lies dead and rotting in a forgotten tunnel.
You could hardly have let him down more.
I'm not afraid.
Master Yoda.
A dangerous time this is for your apprentice.
I feel as if his abilities are growing faster than I can teach him.
I lost my way for a long time, but now I have a chance to change things.
I won't let him lose his way.
Not like I did.
Big fears have you faced.
Ahead of you a difficult path there is, Padawan.
A Jedi you may yet be.
I don't believe it.
It's a lightsaber crystal.
I was proud of him, and I don't think I was alone.
Then we ran into this lowdown, dirty, Sabacc-cheating entrepreneur.
Name's Calrissian.
Lando Calrissian.
From the moment we met this Lando, there was nothing but trouble.
Karabast! But that's another story, one Chopper will tell you.
My small metal friend, we shall meet again.
It wasn't long after, Ezra had his first vision of the future.
Your parents were very brave.
I saw Gall Trayvis.
Kanan, he knew my parents! Following his vision, we set out to save Trayvis.
Senator, you're in terrible danger.
- The Empire knows you're here.
- That's impossible.
Turns out it was a trap, but this time we were ready.
Stay close, Senator.
We'll draw them away.
Get Spectre-2 and Trayvis to the hatch.
- We're not going anywhere.
- But you're not a traitor.
You're a voice of freedom, a-a light in the darkness, like my parents! Parents? No one has spoken against the Empire on Lothal since the Bridger transmissions.
Your parents were very brave and very foolish.
You know, I wanted to believe in Trayvis as much as you did.
- Yeah.
What's wrong with us? - We have hope.
Hope that things can get better.
And they will.
Things were about to get worse.
A lot worse.
From now on, failure will have consequences.
To lift our spirits, we took over an Imperial tower to beam out our own transmission.
Chopper, install the spike.
We ran into some complications.
Sabine, we got targets incoming.
Let's move! - Not this way.
Back inside.
- Are you crazy? Take the lift.
Hera will meet you at the top.
- Wait.
What about you? - I'll take the next one.
All I could do was buy time.
Kanan! Spectre-2, get out of here! Not an option, Kanan.
- No time.
Go! - We can't.
It appears the insurgents have gained control of the tower's transmitter.
We are rebels fighting for the people, fighting for you.
It's only going to get worse unless we stand up and fight back.
Stand up together because that's when we're strongest.
The transmission Ezra was able to beam out has attracted attention.
To protect your unit, to protect Ezra, you must stop your search for Kanan.
He's our friend.
Hera, I can't just forget him, and I can't believe you would either.
His resistance is impressive.
I recommend we transfer him from Lothal to another location, one that never fails to extract a confession.
The Mustafar system? I've only heard that name once.
From Kanan.
He said Mustafar is where Jedi go to die.
Even if I ordered them not to come after me, they would have.
- That's not regulation.
- I kind of like it.
And I have to admit, it was a great plan.
Well, maybe a good plan, for the most part.
Hope Ezra has found Kanan by now.
You shouldn't have come here, but I'm glad you did.
You would have done the same for me.
This is Fulcrum.
