The King House is the most haunted location in Mayport.
It was used for shock therapy.
Native American knife used for scalping.
My recommendation would be to remove this from here.
You take man's best friend and turn it into a bloodsport.
This was The Civil War hospitals.
It is a human bone.

I live in a home that's a little over 200 years old.
We've been having a lot of paranormal activity.
We've been having everything from physical contact to dark shadows to white mists.
One of the very heavy doors in this home was thrust wide open on its own.
What we're experiencing here seems to be growing, and I want it to stop before there's any harm done to me or my son.
Well, it definitely sounds like she's got a lot going on.
Now, as you guys know, our Beth won't be joining us.
She's getting married.
But our cases are getting bigger, so we're gonna be bringing on two more investigators to actually help us out.
So let's get the equipment packed up and let's rock and roll, guys.

I come from a scientific background.

What's exactly happening, Charlet? It really started instantly when we came into the home.
I think it was the third night here.
I was asleep on this couch here And I got woken in the middle of the night.
My blanket was slowly pulled down my body off that couch.
- It was like a gentle uncovering of me.
- Did you pick these couches? - Are they yours or - My parents bought these couches and put them in the house when they purchased it.
- You have no idea where they came - I've no idea where they got 'em.
Okay, all right.
Another thing I wanted to bring to your attention here, the property of the home goes back to Indian times.
So we can go out in the yard and dig down a half inch, inch, anywhere on the property - and find things out there.
- Mm hmm.
And some of the things that we found up there - Indian arrowheads.
- Ah.
- We find quite a few of those.
- Mm hmm.
- Uh, little pieces of pottery.
- Mm hmm.
And the most interesting thing I found out there is This to me looks like a human bone.
Oh, wow.
You don't know anything about a burial ground or anything? Not personally, but it would not surprise me with all the history in the house.
Charlet, do you know who lived in the house before you moved in? My family are actually the seventh family to own this home since it's been built in over 200 years.
My parents bought the home about seven or eight years ago and my son and I moved into the home the beginning of April 2011.
Okay.
Alright well, I got to agree.
It definitely looks it might be a human bone here.
- We will definitely get that checked out.
- Okay.
This is my bedroom.
One afternoon, my son and I heard a large crash in the room and we came in the bedroom to see what the crash was and this vase was actually on the other side and laying down here, and that's where it got the chip out of it.
And I have no explanation as to what happened.
Do you know anything about the vase? No, I don't.
It was in the house when I moved in.
Okay.
I notice there's a bronze statue.
My mother purchased that at an auction.
Any type of artwork paintings, statues Can hold onto the energy of their creator.
This is the room that I slept in when we first moved into the home.
Lot of shadows in this room.
We got a shadow figure on camera where you actually see a head, neck, shoulders.
Well, we actually had four cameras inside of the house.
During that time, a shadow figure went across the upstairs window.
Oh, wow.
I mean, that's pretty clear.
Right.
The weird part about that is that's there's no balcony.
There's nothing there.
It's on the second floor.
The main reason I left this room, I was sitting on the side of the bed and This door It swung and then dead stopped.
That was the last day I spent in this room.
There was full intent behind that.
Whatever did that, it was like "Here I am, you're going to know I'm here".
If something has that much energy, what else can it actually do? We have not been physically harmed here But I don't want it to get to that point, especially with my child in the home.
Well, myself and my team are gonna do everything we can to help you out.

Charlet and her son are scared to be in their own home.
There's a lot of unexplained things happening in here that we need to get to the bottom of.
So while Aimee's looking into the history of the area I'm having the rest of our team do our baseline sweep.
I think what we definitely want to do tonight more than anything, focus on debunking.
In any investigation, we're trying to find logical explanations for everything that's reported.
This is the room that reportedly was shadows over here And the door.
She was watching TV.
There was a TV here previously and, like it's doing now, the door - Is opening.
- Is opening, but it flew open.
Could have been a gust or something.
I mean, there's a door right out here that leads outside.
You know what? You guys stay in here.
Um, I'll try a few different things.
Got it.
In a big house like this, a gust of wind through an open door or window could cause a kind of vacuum effect.
This could explain why the door blew open, so I wanted to check to make sure that everything was airtight.
I just jammed that door open.
Anything? It moved a Tad just from the pressure change, but it wasn't enough to actually swing it open.
You know what I just noticed, though, is that light down there.
When you were walking across the balcony, it did create a shadow, so I'm wondering if one of us goes down there, actually by the shore, if we'll get the same shadow.
Yeah, you go down there and uh, we'll see what we get.
She's saying that this vase got knocked over? - Yes.
- Oh, but Did you see that, when you walked past here? - Mm hmm.
- This entire thing swayed.
I got interested in the paranormal when my best friend passed away.
And I just had the sense that he started contacting me.
So I needed proof.
And that's when I got involved with doing actual investigations.
- You just move - Oh, my gosh.
Look at that.
All right, let's get a reading on it.
As investigators, our first job is to rule out the practical.
Before we even start to consider whether or not something is paranormal.
We're not getting much of a reading.
I think we should go over to the artwork.
See if you get any readings off of it.
I'm just curious.

I'm gonna turn the lights off and uh, stand in front of the light.
I'm a firm believer that a large percentage of haunting's are in fact not supernatural.
Things like lights, shadows and other natural phenomena, they can play tricks on you, so I think it's important that we try to disprove as much as possible before jumping to conclusions.
All right, Jay, stand in front of the light.
Chris, look.
Step away from the light.
Oh, wow.
In front of the light.
All right, we see your shadow.
This is uh, kind of proof positive to me that the lights down there and outside the house are causing some of this activity.
All right, Jay, come on back in.

There's a piece of pottery.

- Absolutely nothing.

- That's a very distinct arrowhead.
- Mm hmm.
And this was all dug up in the back yard? All on the property right here along the river too.
Very steady readings.

It's a piece of bone, but I don't know if it's animal or human or what.
Temperature's gone down four degrees.
You're kidding.
So I took the bone out and it dropped.
Uh-huh.
It's 71 degrees under the table.
When we St Oh, 70 degrees.
Six degrees the temperature's gone down.
Do you feel that? Put your hand under the table.
It's a gush of cold wind.
It's now 69 degrees.
Yeah, but that shouldn't really be happening.
- No, we're right in front - The fireplace.
68 67 degrees and dropping.
Like, what is happening? We're still dropping.
65 degrees now.
But why? I have no idea.
- What is that? - It's a piece of bone.
Temperature has gone down four degrees.
You're kidding.
- So I took the bone out and it dropped? - Uh huh.
Do you feel that? Put your hand under the table.
There's a gush of cold wind.
It's now 69 degrees.
67 degrees and dropping.
What is happening? I'm not sure what these readings around the bone mean, but if this is a human bone, that raises questions of what happened to the individual.
It's definitely something to look into further.
There's a ton of history behind this house.
The house is 200 years old and it sits right on the Ohio River.
So we're on our way to meet with Diane.
She's a local historian and hopefully she can tell us some information about the history of the river and the history of Warsaw.
So, Diane, we're actually just wondering if you can give us a little history of the Ohio River.
Any major tragedies or? Well, on the night of December 4, 1868, two steamboats that were part of the same line, The America, coming upstream, and The United States, coming down from Cincinnati, crashed, and the two boats just burst into flames.
There was 31 passengers lost plus 34 of their officers and crew.
You can see it from Warsaw right across the river.
Oh, I've got a picture of it here somewhere.
This is Warsaw, where we are now And here is where the collision happened.
It looks like it's right across from Charlet's house.
Wow.
Just upstream here at Bryant's Creek.
Anytime there is large-scale death.
Or tragedy associated with a specific area You have to consider a possible link.
Could the steamboat collision have something to do with what Charlet is experiencing? Hopefully, we'll find out tonight.
If anything unusual happens tonight, we'll capture it.
We're setting our cameras throughout the house.
I'm having Aimee and Jess monitor the cameras from the second floor.

What that is is voices captured on audio recording equipment.
It's thought that's easier for spirits to communicate via EVPs.

I've felt her here so many times.

That was as clear as day when - she responded back to you.
- That was a cry for help.
I even got taken back by this.
I mean, it was just as clear as you could possibly get.
And to me, it sounded like a child in distress.
I believe it said "oh, my God".

Alright.
Uh, Charlet, I appreciate you coming in so much.
I normally won't do that, but I thought this was very beneficial and I was following my instincts on this one.
- Okay.
- And I think it was.
There seems to be a lot of activity focused right in this room.
That's where we got the cold spot around the bone.
I think I'm gonna bring in the local Sheriff to see what he could tell us about this bone.
It appears to be some type of backbone vertebra because of the notch that's here.
A human's skeletal remains are stacked from top to bottom.
- Right.
- In the vertebrae system And an actual animal would be laid onto its side.
Now the engravings here, the wear and tear on this part of it, kinda leads me to think that this bone is a straight up-and-down like vertebra bone.
- Okay.
- So this bone is a human bone.
And looking at this item, it appears to be somebody of a small stature.
Would you say the bone is at least 100 years old? We have found a lot of skeletal remains in this area along the Ohio River.
And, due to the age of this residence, anything's possible.
Because of the probable age of the fragment, Sergeant Neale considers it more of a relic.
Than evidence of a crime.
But I think it's important that I share the findings with Charlet so she can move on.
Well Charlet, during our baseline sweep, we were actually able to debunk the vase.
- You know, it's an older home.
- Right.
You're walking around, if you walk hard enough, you can get something to flip over, especially on that dresser.
Okay.
Now upstairs, that shadow that goes by the window there? Right.
That's something that we definitely were able to debunk.
- Okay, good.
- Okay? Now the bone.
We did call in a police officer.
He is familiar with Forensics.
You know, it's a good possibility it could be human and it looks like it came from a little person.
We know with the research, in 1868.
There was a huge steamboat accident right here in this area.
There were a tremendous amount of deaths.
We know the water flows right by the front of this house.
Is it possible that one of the victims was a little girl and her bones washed up on this property? I can't rule that out.
She's the one who's been trying to get my attention with pulling the blankets off and that, I know it is.
It is so gentle, like somebody waking their mommy up and out of bed.
Well, one thing that I would like to do with the bone, and I think it's most important, is you and I are gonna go back out and bury it where you found it.

The ritual of burying a person's remains has been practiced since the age of early man.
It is believed that returning someone's remains to the Earth can bring closure to that spirit.

It feels so good, the closure, and I know I'm gonna rest a lot easier at night.
We'll never know for sure if the spirit reaching out to Charlet was a victim of the steamboat disaster, but by burying the bone, I hope that whatever presence was in this house can finally be at peace and allow Charlet to move on with her life.

Lisa and her husband Eric have been hired to take down this building, but they're afraid to blow it up until they figure out what's causing the reported paranormal activity.

Well, Lisa, I talked to you for a few minutes, what in heck's going on? There is so much strange activity going on here.
People are hearing screams, the noise, and things being moved around.
I have guys that have reported apparitions and spirits.
- The guys are just spooked out.

So the caveat here is You got 48 hours.
You can hear how the sound resonates through here.
So Basically here on this particular floor is where a tremendous amount of activity has been going on.
We've heard walls being banged on.
There's a lot of screams coming from below All sorts of strange activity here.
These vent holes are constantly opened and closed.
We hear screams coming out of the holes.
Now if you feel this trap You know that's three or four pounds.
You can't rule out any of the logical things? I mean, stop and think about the wind, but that's pretty heavy.
I'd like to to show you another thing over here - Okay.
- That's also been kind of creepy.
Oh, okay I've seen these before.
This is a drilling auger.
It's a tool for boring holes through wood or frozen ground.
Somebody could have been using it.
You know, again, energies stay with these types of things, absolutely.
The guys have reported apparitions going across the breezeway And we've got screams going on and it just echoes throughout here.
Now, this is a box.
This thing has turned all different directions, it's moved around this room.
And it goes from one side of the building to the other.
Be careful when you pick it up.
Quite frequently, people say it gets very hot.
Yeah, it's definitely an old medical kit.
This looks like it's something from the thirties.
Back then, they didn't rush you to the hospital.
They didn't call doctors or anything.
What they would do is, you know, just try to bandage them up and actually make them go right back to work.
Looks like there's still blood on the gauze.
Well, that's pretty creepy right there.
So, John, over here is This particular unit is the conveyor belt where there was an employee accident and the guy had prevented a pigeon from falling into the grain.
Which would have contaminated the whole entire load.
And unfortunately, he passed through them.
So, someone was so worried about the job that they actually died trying to get it done right Exactly.
So Lisa referred me to you saying that you've been experiencing some really unexplainable stuff here on the site.
Yeah.
We've been experiencing all kinds of weird things.
The other night, we were working underneath the silos.
And It was just this strange shadow that kind of went by us and we couldn't explain it because we were the only ones working here.
There was obviously something there.
I don't even want to be down there any more.
Here we are down in the bottom of the silos.
We have had screams and, inside here, it's pretty scary.
I need these spirits out of here so we can go forward.
I'm gonna do everything I can.
Jason's gonna go out check the history and some of these different stories.
Hopefully, in the 48 hours when we can get back together, I'll be able to give you some information on some of the things.

It's a huge complex, a lot of territory to cover, and we only have 48 hours to be able to do that.

Now, there's no power through this building.
The light is from the implosion team, a portable light that they've set up using a battery.
If we get any readings in this building It's not normal.

A man died up here.
He fell into the conveyor all the way down towards the back.
I think this is gonna be a good spot to try a few EVPs in this area.

We're in the basement right now and I turned around to take a couple of snapshots.
And when I turned back, Chris has something dripping down his helmet.

Hey, what's up, Bri? Yeah, we're getting some crazy stuff happening down in the basement of the silo.
All right, I'll be on my way down.
Could it be rust? I mean, nothing looks like it's dripping.

Hey, what's going on? Well, see for yourself.
What is that? I was standing right underneath this.
I thought it was like rust or Something, like, leaking from it.
Hmm well, it doesn't look like rust.
It doesn't look like oil.
That looks like blood to me, guys.
First thing that went through my mind was, okay, that's probably oil or some kind of sludge or something that's dripping.
But the closer I was examining it, I realized how it had that deep red to it.
If this is actually blood, that's really changing the way I'm looking at things.
I want to get that tested tomorrow.
Now let's get the hell outta here.

What do you want to do to test it? I got a little bit of hydrogen peroxide.
If it's blood, the iron in the blood reacts with the hydrogen peroxide fizzing it off and we'll know for sure if this is organic.
We've got no fizz.
It's not blood.

I mean, it could be industrial lubricant.
Well, that's a relief.
Uh, glad to know that blood wasn't dripping on me.

We've heard rumors of multiple deaths at the grain mill, so I'm gonna go meet with a local historian who's documented a number of the accidents there.
There's been some tragedies with the building as recently as a couple years ago.
In 2003, an Inspector was up on the ninth floor of the building.
Somebody on the bottom pressed the elevator to come down.
She didn't realize that The elevator was already on its way down and she followed the elevator all the way down.
I've also heard when, they were building the building, to pour the silos, they had to pour concrete.
And when you pour the concrete, they had to pour continuously.
They couldn't stop the flow of concrete.
One of the workers fell in, so he was left in the concrete.
There's probably a body buried in one of those silos.
- In one of those silos.
- Wow, okay.
So we know that lives have been lost here at the grain mill.
So you know, our job is to get in there tonight And try to find out if any spirits are lingering from those events that happened here.

The first thing I'm thinking when we get up to the seventh floor Is I really want to do an experiment with the manholes.
If spirits are, in fact, trying to move these manhole covers, we want to try to coax them into doing it again.

But I would say this is definitely a great find.
This probably scalped a few people in its day.
So we got a run-of-the-mill lunchbox and a one-of-a-kind scalping knife.
Either one of these items could be associated with a violent death.

And this is from the forties.
It's around the time-frame when the gentleman fell into the cement.

We also found this right next to it.
We found out this is used for scalping from like 1812, and this is the same exact time-frame when a lot of deaths took place.

- You have no idea where they came - I've no idea where they got 'em.

Another thing I wanted to bring to your attention here, the property of the home goes back to Indian times.
So we can go out in the yard and dig down a half inch, inch, anywhere on the property - and find things out there.

And some of the things that we found up there - Indian arrowheads.

And the most interesting thing I found out there is This to me looks like a human bone.

Charlet, do you know who lived in the house before you moved in? My family are actually the seventh family to own this home since it's been built in over 200 years.
My parents bought the home about seven or eight years ago and my son and I moved into the home the beginning of April 2011.

It definitely looks it might be a human bone here.

This is my bedroom.
One afternoon, my son and I heard a large crash in the room and we came in the bedroom to see what the crash was and this vase was actually on the other side and laying down here, and that's where it got the chip out of it.
And I have no explanation as to what happened.
Do you know anything about the vase? No, I don't.
It was in the house when I moved in.
Okay.
I notice there's a bronze statue.
My mother purchased that at an auction.
Any type of artwork paintings, statues Can hold onto the energy of their creator.
This is the room that I slept in when we first moved into the home.
Lot of shadows in this room.
We got a shadow figure on camera where you actually see a head, neck, shoulders.
Well, we actually had four cameras inside of the house.
During that time, a shadow figure went across the upstairs window.
Oh, wow.
I mean, that's pretty clear.
Right.
The weird part about that is that's there's no balcony.
There's nothing there.
It's on the second floor.
The main reason I left this room, I was sitting on the side of the bed and This door It swung and then dead stopped.
That was the last day I spent in this room.
There was full intent behind that.
Whatever did that, it was like "Here I am, you're going to know I'm here".
If something has that much energy, what else can it actually do? We have not been physically harmed here But I don't want it to get to that point, especially with my child in the home.

In any investigation, we're trying to find logical explanations for everything that's reported.
This is the room that reportedly was shadows over here And the door.
She was watching TV.
There was a TV here previously and, like it's doing now, the door - Is opening.

Could have been a gust or something.
I mean, there's a door right out here that leads outside.

In a big house like this, a gust of wind through an open door or window could cause a kind of vacuum effect.
This could explain why the door blew open, so I wanted to check to make sure that everything was airtight.
I just jammed that door open.
Anything? It moved a Tad just from the pressure change, but it wasn't enough to actually swing it open.
You know what I just noticed, though, is that light down there.
When you were walking across the balcony, it did create a shadow, so I'm wondering if one of us goes down there, actually by the shore, if we'll get the same shadow.
Yeah, you go down there and uh, we'll see what we get.
She's saying that this vase got knocked over? - Yes.
- Oh, but Did you see that, when you walked past here? - Mm hmm.
- This entire thing swayed.
I got interested in the paranormal when my best friend passed away.
And I just had the sense that he started contacting me.

This is uh, kind of proof positive to me that the lights down there and outside the house are causing some of this activity.

It's a gush of cold wind.

Yeah, but that shouldn't really be happening.

What is happening? I'm not sure what these readings around the bone mean, but if this is a human bone, that raises questions of what happened to the individual.
It's definitely something to look into further.
There's a ton of history behind this house.
The house is 200 years old and it sits right on the Ohio River.
So we're on our way to meet with Diane.
She's a local historian and hopefully she can tell us some information about the history of the river and the history of Warsaw.
So, Diane, we're actually just wondering if you can give us a little history of the Ohio River.
Any major tragedies or? Well, on the night of December 4, 1868, two steamboats that were part of the same line, The America, coming upstream, and The United States, coming down from Cincinnati, crashed, and the two boats just burst into flames.
There was 31 passengers lost plus 34 of their officers and crew.
You can see it from Warsaw right across the river.
Oh, I've got a picture of it here somewhere.
This is Warsaw, where we are now And here is where the collision happened.
It looks like it's right across from Charlet's house.
Wow.
Just upstream here at Bryant's Creek.
Anytime there is large-scale death.
Or tragedy associated with a specific area You have to consider a possible link.

I mean, it was just as clear as you could possibly get.
And to me, it sounded like a child in distress.
I believe it said "oh, my God".

Uh, Charlet, I appreciate you coming in so much.
I normally won't do that, but I thought this was very beneficial and I was following my instincts on this one.

- And I think it was.
There seems to be a lot of activity focused right in this room.
That's where we got the cold spot around the bone.
I think I'm gonna bring in the local Sheriff to see what he could tell us about this bone.
It appears to be some type of backbone vertebra because of the notch that's here.
A human's skeletal remains are stacked from top to bottom.
- Right.
- In the vertebrae system And an actual animal would be laid onto its side.
Now the engravings here, the wear and tear on this part of it, kinda leads me to think that this bone is a straight up-and-down like vertebra bone.
- Okay.
- So this bone is a human bone.
And looking at this item, it appears to be somebody of a small stature.
Would you say the bone is at least 100 years old? We have found a lot of skeletal remains in this area along the Ohio River.
And, due to the age of this residence, anything's possible.
Because of the probable age of the fragment, Sergeant Neale considers it more of a relic.
Than evidence of a crime.
But I think it's important that I share the findings with Charlet so she can move on.
Well Charlet, during our baseline sweep, we were actually able to debunk the vase.
- You know, it's an older home.
- Right.
You're walking around, if you walk hard enough, you can get something to flip over, especially on that dresser.
Okay.
Now upstairs, that shadow that goes by the window there? Right.
That's something that we definitely were able to debunk.
- Okay, good.
- Okay? Now the bone.
We did call in a police officer.
He is familiar with Forensics.
You know, it's a good possibility it could be human and it looks like it came from a little person.
We know with the research, in 1868.
There was a huge steamboat accident right here in this area.
There were a tremendous amount of deaths.
We know the water flows right by the front of this house.
Is it possible that one of the victims was a little girl and her bones washed up on this property? I can't rule that out.
She's the one who's been trying to get my attention with pulling the blankets off and that, I know it is.
It is so gentle, like somebody waking their mommy up and out of bed.
Well, one thing that I would like to do with the bone, and I think it's most important, is you and I are gonna go back out and bury it where you found it.

It is believed that returning someone's remains to the Earth can bring closure to that spirit.

This thing has turned all different directions, it's moved around this room.
And it goes from one side of the building to the other.
Be careful when you pick it up.
Quite frequently, people say it gets very hot.
Yeah, it's definitely an old medical kit.
This looks like it's something from the thirties.
Back then, they didn't rush you to the hospital.
They didn't call doctors or anything.
What they would do is, you know, just try to bandage them up and actually make them go right back to work.
Looks like there's still blood on the gauze.
Well, that's pretty creepy right there.
So, John, over here is This particular unit is the conveyor belt where there was an employee accident and the guy had prevented a pigeon from falling into the grain.
Which would have contaminated the whole entire load.
And unfortunately, he passed through them.
So, someone was so worried about the job that they actually died trying to get it done right Exactly.

There's been some tragedies with the building as recently as a couple years ago.
In 2003, an Inspector was up on the ninth floor of the building.
Somebody on the bottom pressed the elevator to come down.
She didn't realize that The elevator was already on its way down and she followed the elevator all the way down.
I've also heard when, they were building the building, to pour the silos, they had to pour concrete.
And when you pour the concrete, they had to pour continuously.
They couldn't stop the flow of concrete.
One of the workers fell in, so he was left in the concrete.
There's probably a body buried in one of those silos.

So we know that lives have been lost here at the grain mill.
So you know, our job is to get in there tonight And try to find out if any spirits are lingering from those events that happened here.

When we came back to do our investigation, it was in this one area where there was a lot of chunks of cement.
We broke it open and actually we found this lunchbox.
Wow.
And this is from the forties.
It's around the time-frame when the gentleman fell into the cement.
This gives me like kind of a sick, eerie feeling in my stomach.
I can understand that.
We also found this right next to it.
We found out this is used for scalping from like 1812, and this is the same exact time-frame when a lot of deaths took place.

- This was a major hot spot.
What do we do from here? I definitely recommend that we take these off the property and I'm hoping this is gonna be able to bring closure and everybody's gonna be able to move forward once this building is down.
