Like, I love being a model.
So this really means everything to me.
I never really had much attention from the girls.
I'm a 21-year-old virgin.
The core of my look is androgynous.
I have the advantage of looking more masculine for a shoot, or looking slightly more feminine.
When I become a supermodel, I'm gonna be looking forward to all of the ladies.
As I arrive to the addresson our invitation, I thought it was gonna bethe address to our house.
That wasn't the case.
There's, like, tyson.
And there's this giant red boxhanging from this crane.
And I'm like,"oh, my god.
What the hell do they havein store for me today?" Competition-wise,I wouldn't say the girls side is as strong as the boys side.
They've got a little bit of work to do.
Welcome to new york city,guys! Out of thousands,only 16 made it through and that's you.
Over the course of 12highly competitive rounds, we wanna see which one of youwe can make into a supermodel.
However, this time around,I am not a judge.
This year,instead of me judging you, I'm going to bementoring the gentlemen.
I'm gonna make you better modelsthan you are now.

In the world of male modeling, tyson beckford is definitely the cherry on the sundae.

As a model, it's important to remember that you'rein the public eye all the time.

For the first two seconds,you know, you were like, "wow, you know, the view here is amazing.
" But then you quicklyget back into, "this is a competition, and I need to win.

I'm originally from brazil.
I think that brazilian background helps a little bit, because everyone's very comfortable with their bodies.

Each time they take a picture, change the pose.

This is, like,really everything I've ever dreamed of.
To be able to model clothes and do runway and do amazing pictures.
And this is my dream.

It's just an excitementthat I get.

I've been waiting my wholelife for something like this to happen.
I'm really excited for this part of the competition.
I feel like I have a pretty good walk.
So I was ready to show itoff a little bit.

My photo shoot wasn't as good as I wanted it to be.

I wanna make an impression on the judges that this girl has a lot of potential.
I want them to lookat me and want to see more.
I was trying to just be confident.
I'm just thinking of my poses,all of my movements, just hoping that I was goingto do the best I could.
I want to prove myself and show them that being short isn't gonna stop me from being a supermodel.
I'm kind of an anomaly in that I'm not really that much into fashion for someone who's a fashion model.
My favorite outfit'sa pair of gym shorts.
Whether you're nervous, whether you think your walk's good or bad, you've gotta goin with confidence, 'cause that'sthe first thing that shows when you're strutting your stuffdown the runway.
That hood definitely restricted me in how I normally walk.
But once I kind of figuredout what I needed to do with my arms, it was like being kind of a piece of art.
I really think that being a dancer-- being a performer-- helps me on the runwaybecause it actually puts me at ease knowingthat people are watching me.
I love walking the catwalk.
It's great.
I love people looking at me.
Looking at the clothes.
It's like a high.
Walking is usually just how I get from one place to another.
I don't think it has ever beenparticularly good looking, but it's never had to be.
This is where the competition starts, because I won the first photo shoot.
But I wantthe immunity so bad, because then I don't haveto worry about going home.

That hood definitely restricted me in how I normally walk.

I really think that being a dancer-- being a performer-- helps me on the runwaybecause it actually puts me at ease knowingthat people are watching me.
