Raising Dion (2019) s02e01 Episode Script

ISSUE #201: A Hero Returns

1 Mister, I've got your doll! Dion! [Dion yells.]
I'm saying he has powers.
Okay? Weird, scary powers.
[Kat.]
What the hell? [Nicole.]
Oh my God, no.
[echoing clang.]
[Dion.]
I saw something last night in the storm.
You have powers, I've always known that.
That's Dad's watch.
There inside it was a man made of lightning.
He had long arms and it was crooked-looking.
Look at this and tell me if this is what you saw outside your window.
[Dion.]
I named him the Crooked Man.
Remember, whatever that thing was, it's still out there.
So I need you to be careful and I need you to be strong.
BIONA is tracking people who were up in Iceland during the Aurora.
These storms are happening all over the world.
Pat said you were asking about your dad.
[Dion.]
My mom won't tell me what happened.
Just says it was a storm.
- [Mark yells.]
- What do you know about Charlotte Tuck? Looks like she just went off the grid.
You're not crazy.
The farmer, Walter, he got his abilities at the same time as me and Mark.
His son, Brayden, he's second generation, like Dion.
[Brayden.]
Why are you helping Dion, but you won't help me? Remember that arctic fox we saw at BIONA? [Dion.]
The one with the weird sores? [Pat.]
Not anymore.
They healed.
I need us to be friends.
- Dion! - Mom! What if you had Mark's data? In exchange, you let me take Dion home now.
You think Dion can heal you like he healed that fox? - You made him try to heal you! - Hey! I didn't do anything! He wanted to help me, because he loves me.
Pat is the storm.
He turned into a cyclone right in front of me.
He is the Crooked Man! - [lightning crackles.]
- [thunder rumbles.]
[Mark.]
Energy never dies.
It just takes a different form.
[fairground music plays.]
[arcade game fighting sounds.]
Good will always triumph over evil.
[boy grunts.]
Yes.
[fighter groans.]
[groaning.]
- [groaning.]
- [grunting.]
[pinball machine clinking.]
Your evil is no match for my fists.
Good will always triumph over - Yes! - [game villain cackles.]
[game villain.]
You lose.
[game villain laughs.]
[smooth jazz music plays.]
Done for the day? - Are you here by yourself? - My parents are picking me up outside.
Okay, you have 20,000 tickets.
What's it gonna be? Sorry, you don't have enough for that one.
I have enough.
[sinister music plays.]
[eerie whooshing.]
You have enough.
[eerie whooshing.]
- [man grunts.]
- [Brayden groans.]
[both grunting.]
[panting.]
[bag unzips.]
[sinister whooshing.]
[lightning crackles.]
[whooshing breath.]
[man groans.]
[electricity powering down.]
[Brayden groans.]
You didn't have to kill him.
[rumbling.]
[electricity powering up.]
[fairground music resumes.]
[foreboding music plays.]
[brakes screech.]
Hi.
Sweetie, are-are you okay? Are you lost? I need a ride to Atlanta.
I'm sorry, we're not going to Atlanta, but we can drop you off somewhere else.
Somewhere safe.
You're going to Atlanta.
[eerie whooshing.]
- We're going to Atlanta.
- Hop on in.
Why are we going to Atlanta? That's where Dion is.
[sinister music plays.]
[Nicole.]
Hey, wake up, Bug.
[Nicole.]
Hello, good morning.
I have a call with the BIONA board of directors in a few minutes, so I'll be in the dining room.
Please be quiet.
You have 30 minutes to get ready for school, okay? [Dion groans.]
[upbeat dramatic music plays.]
Hmm.
Mm-hmm.
[dramatic music swells.]
- [line ringing.]
- [text whooshes.]
Thirty minutes.
Start the clock.
Giving you 25.
Hold for logistics.
Go for maps.
Time to clean up the neighborhood.
[Suzanne.]
Welcome to our special guest, Nicole Warren.
Nicole has allowed us to continue her late husband's research into the Powered.
She is also the mother of our only second-generation subject, Dion Warren.
She is a great collaborator.
A great friend.
Thank you, Suzanne.
I am so proud of Mark's legacy.
And the new research center is doing so much good.
I just wish I had something like that when I first realized Dion had powers.
[Suzanne.]
I look forward to when it doesn't have to be secret.
But for now, we want to help the Powered stay under the radar and safe while we figure out how to introduce them to the world.
And to speak more on that, I'll turn it over to my boss, Ben Cutler, chairman of the board.
Well, first things first, Ms.
Warren, your extraordinary son.
- How is our little star? - Ooh.
Don't call him that.
I have to live with him.
[laughter.]
I'm serious.
[upbeat music plays.]
Trash cans are open again.
Some people never learn.
Da-da! - Got 'em.
- Good work, Mind Mover.
Level at 10,000 and climbin' Know I been 'bout it, been 'bout it We need a new paperboy.
deal is Really I just came here to kill I'm goin' in my coffin Middle finger poking through the casket Yes! - [Dion grunts.]
- [whooshing.]
Second nature, all this automatic I'm powered up, it's now or nothing I'm powered up, it's now or nothing Want something done right, you gotta do it yourself.
Did I lose you? It's now or nothing I'm powered up Oh, no! It's now or nothing Got it.
Are you there, Mind Mover? - [Dion.]
Dropped my phone.
- Again? [Jonathan.]
Your mom's gonna kill you if you lose that phone.
- Let's start wrapping it up.
- Already? Who's the time keeper here? Let's get you back home.
Here I come, a freaky sight Oh no, don't you close your eyes Come on.
Give it.
Come on, give me my ball.
Come on, give it back.
- You can't get it.
Ha! You can't get it.
- Give it.
Come on.
Our Powered subjects come to us voluntarily.
Their participation allows us to do valuable research, so we want to make sure they feel safe here.
Nicole, we'd like to offer you a seat on BIONA's new community advisory board.
It will meet once a month to discuss and recommend policies for the company.
Wow, I I don't know what to say.
We think you'll provide invaluable insight into the concerns of the Powered community.
Oh, I can only speak from my own experiences.
I'm not a Powered person.
But your son is.
See, you occupy a unique position between both worlds.
[cell phone chimes.]
[Cutler.]
Ms.
Warren? [Jonathan.]
Mind Mover, what's your 20? - Mr.
Govan's building.
Bullies are back.
- [Esperanza.]
Two-minute warning! - [kid.]
Bring it back! - [Dion.]
They got his basketball.
They crossed onto Hawthorne Avenue.
That's out of your jurisdiction.
You can't teleport there.
Somebody might see you.
We don't have time for this.
[dramatic music plays.]
- I can't let them get away.
- Thirty seconds, Di.
Abort, abort! [dramatic music swells.]
I'm back.
[sighs.]
Twenty seconds to spare.
You'll get 'em next time, Mind Mover.
Signing off.
- [Nicole.]
Enjoy your little adventure? - [gasps.]
- How - Tracked your phone.
You can do that? [Nicole.]
Keep this up, I'm taking it away.
I'm taking care of the neighborhood, Mom.
We've got bullies out there.
Your job is to go to school and be a good kid.
Not fight crime.
I'm a superhero.
[Nicole.]
You're ten.
Now change out of that and let's have a quick breakfast.
And pack a gym bag because today's a BIONA day.
You're always over there I'm a superhero.
Just wanna be next to you All this push and pull Got me in a mood That I can never express to you You hold me, but only when you want to Love me, only when When are you gonna let me ride my bike to school? - We've had this conversation.
- It's embarrassing.
Kids my age ride their bikes places.
And if you were like any other kid, I'd probably let you.
Nobody's gonna mess with me.
If they tried, I'd zap them.
Exactly.
You'd use your powers as a first resort, not your last.
You could hurt somebody.
And you could possibly be found out.
- You're not letting me be awesome.
- [Nicole.]
One step at a time, Bug.
That's why you're getting training at BIONA, so you can learn how to control your powers.
Margaret just asks me questions and takes notes.
It's like she's babysitting me.
Dad said that thing was still out there.
He said I'm gonna have to fight it.
- That's not exactly what he said.
- He told me to be brave and ready.
He also told you to listen to me.
I fought the Crooked Man.
He exploded right out there on the football field.
[Nicole.]
We fought the Crooked Man.
With your dad's help.
I know you want to grow up and take on the world all by yourself, but you have the rest of your life to do that.
Everything is under control.
So just be a kid while you can still be a kid.
Hey.
[suspenseful music plays.]
[instruments whirring, crackling, buzzing.]
[indistinct chatter.]
- [instruments warbling.]
- [radio chatter.]
If Dion's not here in two minutes, we're gonna have to reschedule.
- Okay.
- It's not okay.
We need to have this meeting before school.
[tsks.]
Mr.
Gary.
Mr.
Gary.
Hey, Esperanza.
What you got going on, little lady? I want to show you something.
I've been looking for you since last week.
Oh, well, they got me working on night shift now, ever since that sinkhole opened up on the football field.
I'm heading home to get some rest.
Look.
I planted the snowdrops and they came up already.
Let me see what you got here.
Wow.
This is great.
- It actually looks better than mine.
- But your pansies were way better.
Nah.
You just need some slug traps, that's it.
Did your father set those up for you? [sighs.]
Nah.
He travels for work a lot.
Doesn't have time for the garden.
I mean, you've done good on your own.
Tell you what.
How about I get some slug traps, help you set 'em up, and your pansies will be blooming in no time.
That would be great.
[chuckles.]
All right.
You got a deal.
- See you soon.
- [Esperanza.]
Bye.
All right, have a good one.
[panting.]
Sorry I'm late.
The Triangle of Justice is now in session.
- Role call.
Mind Mover? - Here.
Invisible Girl.
Here.
- Did you settle on a name yet? - Admiral Annihilation.
We'll work on that.
Okay, time for daily reports.
Mind Mover? It was all good, until the bullies got away.
- Admiral Killing Guy? - Annihilation.
A car was stolen in my neighborhood.
Do you think the bullies were involved? - Were they driving a Toyota Camry? - No.
- [bell rings.]
- [Dion.]
Let's do it.
[all.]
Three Become One! We're stronger together! Triangle of Justice! - Let's all have a good day and stay safe.
- Copy that.
[Esperanza.]
Oh, one more thing.
I signed us all up for the school musical revue.
- What? - [Esperanza.]
We'll all be in the chorus.
- Theme is American folk songs.
- I don't want to do a musical revue! Me neither.
We do everything together, remember? Three Become One? - Yeah, but - We all went to Jonathan's tractor pull.
- That was cool.
- Yeah, exactly.
And we went to Dragon Con for you.
Not to mention, fighting an electric monster on the football field.
- What? Uh - I'm invoking the Power of the Triangle.
[Dion.]
What? I was No! Sorry, dude.
It's out of our hands.
Yeah, I'll get that back to you by Friday.
- That's a little soon, actually.
- [phone buzzes.]
Um, sure.
Thursday.
Thursday's fine.
Hey, Kwame.
Where are my mock-ups for the PR campaign? You'll get it in a couple days.
I have three jobs due before yours.
[Kwame.]
I made you a graphic designer.
I put you in business.
[Nicole.]
And I would love it if you paid all of my bills.
I'm not rich.
[Nicole.]
That is why I've got to keep hustling.
Do you actually need it, or are you just checking things off your list because you're bored? [sighs.]
Bored.
That's what I thought.
I'll get it to you in a couple days.
I could come over and we could blue-sky some ideas off each other, bounce things back and forth.
Ah, we could watch The Queen's Gambit.
- Goodbye, Kwame.
- [Kwame.]
I'll bring a bottle of wi [sighs.]
- [bell rings.]
- [kids chatter.]
All right, before we get started, apparently some of you are still trying to sneak down to that sinkhole.
The principal told me to say, one more time, that place is off-limits.
It's been open for three months.
Why don't they just cover it up? They're testing the soil.
There might be some toxic waste under there.
- Cool.
- [Ms.
B.]
No, Chris.
It is not cool.
Stay away from it.
That land's been shifting around a lot ever since that freak electrical storm a couple of years ago, okay? But, on the bright side, there have been some interesting artifacts that have come out of that hole.
- Are they toxic? - [Ms.
B.]
Sorry to disappoint you, Steffi.
But all of this has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
We have an arrowhead.
- What? - Whoa! Petrified piece of wood.
Awesome.
Old pieces of metal.
[kid.]
Are those real? [Ms.
B.]
And some tiny musket balls.
- No way.
- Those are actually real? [Ms.
B.]
A battle was fought on this property during the Civil War.
The land has a story to tell.
Okay, so we're gonna create a time line of this area.
- Starting just before the - [knocking.]
Come on in.
All right, class.
We've got a brand new student to welcome.
- Everyone welcome Brayden Mills.
- [applause.]
[tense music plays.]
[Dion.]
Is that kid staring at me? - [Chris.]
What kind of name is Brayden? - [boy 1.]
He looks weird.
[Steffi.]
Please don't put him in my group.
[girl 1.]
 His hair looks greasy.
- [girl 2.]
And those boots.
[sighs.]
[quiet whistle.]
- [Nicole.]
Is that you trying to whistle? - [Dion.]
My lips are so dry.
Esperanza's forcing me to be in the musical revue.
Esperanza can't force you to do anything.
[Dion.]
She invoked the Power of the Triangle.
There's nothing I can do.
[Nicole.]
Okay.
Unless you tell her I can't? I'm not lying to Esperanza for you.
[Dion groans.]
Besides, I love musicals.
And I loved them so much when I was a kid.
Maybe that's why the school asked me to direct the revue.
No! You can't do that! - Why not? - It's too embarrassing.
Don't do it.
Please don't do it.
Okay! Okay, jeez.
You know, maybe I can get Kwame to direct it.
Hi.
He loves musicals.
He did a bus-and-truck tour of Dreamgirls, and he would not stop talking about it.
Okay, never mind.
You know, I promise not to embarrass you by being your mother at school.
[Dion.]
Thank you.
[elevator dings.]
- Hey, Fernando.
- [Fernando.]
Hey, Dion, what's up? Nothing.
- How's it going? - Good.
- Helping your dad today? - He's got me running around.
How's the band? We, uh, actually got a gig this Saturday, but-but don't tell my dad, please.
- Okay.
- Awesome.
Hey, see you around.
See ya.
[trainer.]
There you go.
Control your breathing.
Good.
Now focus where you want it to go.
Excellent.
[cell phone rings.]
Hey, Marla, I bet you're calling about those drawings.
[woman.]
Janelle, are you listening? Can you please cooperate? - Janelle.
- [woman.]
Listen to him.
You have to focus.
You can do this.
I know you [woman.]
Oh! I'm sorry.
I don't know what's wrong with her, Alonso.
[Alonso.]
We can figure this out.
Calm down.
[melancholy music plays.]
Hey, Dion, why don't you change and I'll meet you in the training room? Sure, yeah, I have time to talk.
Mm-hmm.
Thank you for the feedback.
No, the ornate panels will go on the sides.
If you want something different from the bottom, we're gonna have to rethink.
But we [hesitates.]
No, uh We'll have to rethink the whole layout.
I-I hear you, but we don't have enough space to work with.
- Um, oh, I'm sorry.
- No, go ahead.
I understand.
It'll just It'll be too crowded.
Uh, Marla, please, can I call you back? Thank you.
I'm so rude being on my phone.
- Please, I insist, go ahead.
- You sure? - Yes, I'm sure.
- 'Cause I can wait.
- I really need coffee, so if you could - Got it.
Here I go.
[liquid pouring.]
Busy day? Everyone wants what they want and they want it now.
- Honestly, I could've waited.
- [chuckles.]
No.
Thank you.
Um, not you.
My clients.
They want your attention.
Can't say I blame them for that.
Well, I'm sure there are plenty of people vying for your attention.
- [beeping.]
- [whooshing.]
[man groans softly.]
- You okay? - You're Powered.
- Did it just get cold in here? - [Nicole.]
I didn't realize.
Is there a problem? No, I just I have to go.
My son's training.
You got something against Powered people? You are standing in the middle of the Powered Research Center.
Kind of figured you were Powered.
- I'm not.
I mean, I love Powered people.
- Some of your best friends are Powered.
I just don't want to get involved with a Powered man.
Were we getting involved? [chuckles softly.]
I'm sorry.
I-I I didn't mean to offend you.
Why would I be offended? You just don't like my kind.
Okay.
I have my reasons and I have every right.
Oh, you have every right? - [machine beeps.]
- [woman yelps.]
[Nicole scoffs.]
What was that for? I didn't want to offend you with my powers.
[whimsical music plays.]
Why are you following me? I'm not.
- It kinda feels like you're following me.
- I'm not.
If you wanted my number, you could've just asked.
That's my son.
- [Dion.]
Hi-yah! - Oh, uh - Dion.
What's up, man? - [Dion.]
What's up? - I'm Tevin, your new trainer.
- I didn't know he had a new trainer.
- Yeah, um, Suzanne Wu was supposed to - Di, hold on one second.
She's mad at you.
Yeah, I got that.
What you've accomplished is nothing short of miraculous, Suzanne.
Thank you, David.
Seriously, I always knew you were a talented scientist, but this, this takes vision.
Well, studying Powered people wasn't part of our original mission, but with all we know, it would be irresponsible not to.
Yeah, 100%.
When we figure out how to harness Powered DNA, I mean Can you imagine? I mean, if you still had the farmer, we could end world hunger.
Oh, o-okay.
Slow down.
We're here to help these people, not exploit them.
Of course, but as a scientist, I mean, you have to see the possibilities.
I see a slippery slope, so, let's stay focused on our current mission.
Reversing the necrosis at sites where the Crooked Man touched down.
"The Crooked Man.
" What is that, some kind of code name? Oh, sorry.
It's what Dion called Pat Rollins in his Powered form.
"Crooked," like lightning.
Right.
Well, the Crooked Man got around.
The satellite found two additional sites that need to be secured, one in Morocco and another in Rome.
- [Suzanne.]
When did they appear? - Three months ago, like all the rest.
Standard cover story? Toxic waste site.
BIONA to the rescue, saving the planet.
Get me a proposal and I'll authorize the money.
- What? - Hm? No, nothing.
I mean, it's funny, you know, you're my boss.
Is that gonna be a problem? No.
Honestly, not a problem at all.
We're good.
Okay.
In fact, let's have a drink after work.
To prove how good we are.
Yeah, I don't think that, um - Suzanne? - Nicole.
Uh, I was just coming down to see you.
But first, meet David Marsh, the new VP of Operations.
He came to us from International, but we used to work together.
- We did.
- Nice to meet you.
Such an honor to meet you, Ms.
Warren.
Your son is extraordinary.
But you know that.
And I'm gonna go.
Dion has a new trainer? Margaret was way out of her league.
Dion needs a trainer who can keep up with him.
He's a Powered person, Suzanne.
He's also a world-class runner, a former Olympic track coach, and you know what he's not? Pat.
He has powers that I don't have.
That It makes me nervous.
I know, but we can't keep ignoring the obvious.
Dion is growing up.
An eight-year-old listens to his mom.
A ten-year-old starts listening to his friends.
We need somebody that Dion will look up to.
A role model.
- Tevin can be that guy.
- He sprayed milk on me.
What? Well, he didn't, but he could've stopped it.
What are you talking about? You have a broken cappuccino machine.
I will get right on that.
[Suzanne laughs.]
- More sinkholes? - [Suzanne.]
Found two more today.
Did they open up about the same time as the one behind Dion's school? Three months ago.
What the hell happened three months ago? Good question.
You gonna trust me about Tevin? I mean, we did fight a supernatural monster together.
You fought? Because I'm pretty sure you got knocked out immediately.
Oh, wow.
You're gonna do me like that, are you? [Suzanne laughs.]
Okay.
[laughs.]
- [Tevin.]
Fireballs? - [Dion.]
Yup.
- Teleportation? - Check.
- Okay.
Invisibility? - Yup.
But it is still just my hand.
- That still counts.
Intangibility? - [Dion.]
You mean like this? What the heck is that? I don't know.
I didn't know what the word meant.
So you just made up a power? Okay.
[Dion.]
Is that it? You're just gonna ask a bunch of questions? Let's see you in action.
Coming in hot [Dion grunts and chuckles.]
I write what I live What else you got? [Tevin grunts.]
I'm nice with the flow [Dion clears throat.]
I'm feeding my fam, I'm feeding the 'Sup, bro? They got the iron [Dion grunts.]
I testify, don't need a subpoena They want my soul, better go to Korea I love my dog, just like I'm PETA Gotta protect [grunting.]
I know we left, yeah Now we back together But I guess that it's better Later than never, like What's happenin'? [Nicole.]
Dion.
- Whoa! - What are you doing? [chuckling.]
Dion, take a break.
Let me talk to Tevin.
- Uh, can I play on my phone? - [Nicole.]
Sure.
Yes! Stay still.
Just let her talk.
I, uh promise I had that under control.
Yeah, obviously, or my face and hair would have been burned off.
[chuckles.]
Um, I'm sorry for how I acted.
I had a bad experience with a Powered guy.
Actually, bad doesn't even begin to cover it.
It was traumatic, both for me and Dion.
I let him get close and he almost destroyed us.
- I'm so sorry.
- [Nicole.]
Yeah, me too.
But Suzanne reminded me that he's not you, and he's long gone.
I, uh, really regret letting you get sprayed with milk.
No, seriously.
I used my powers to make a point.
- That was wrong.
- It was kind of funny.
- Yeah? - I mean, not in the moment.
[chuckles.]
But I see it now.
Clean slate? Clean slate.
[knocking on glass.]
He's safe with me.
I promise.
You both are.
[knocking on glass.]
[upbeat music plays.]
[foreboding music plays.]
[Brayden.]
So this is where you fought Dion? [Crooked Energy.]
Yes.
But you couldn't beat him.
[Crooked Energy.]
This time, I'm bringing an army.
How? [lightning crackles.]
[Brayden gasps.]
[sinister whooshing.]
[ground rumbles.]
[shrieking.]
[foreboding music plays.]
[sinister whooshing.]
[sinister whooshing.]
[Brayden groans.]
Hey! What are you doing out here, kid? [Brayden grunts.]
- You're not supposed to be out here.
- You're sleepy.
[eerie whooshing.]
[yawns.]
[knocking.]
[both squeal.]
[Kat.]
I missed you.
Oh my God, don't choke me to death! [Nicole.]
Why didn't you tell somebody? I would've picked you up from the airport.
Oh, girl, I stopped making plans, like, three months into my trip.
- You look so good.
- Thank you.
So do you.
Look at your place.
- So tell me everything.
How was Ghana? - It was life-changing.
- [Dion.]
Auntie Kat! You're home! - Hey, Bug! Look at you.
You're so big.
I brought you a ton of souvenirs, but I need to figure out which bag they're in.
Oh, no, tomorrow.
It's late.
It's time for bed.
- But I have to make my video for Dad.
- [Nicole.]
Okay, make it quickly.
- [Kat.]
Now, what have you got to drink? - [Nicole.]
Everything.
[Kat.]
Come on.
Catch me up.
- [Nicole.]
What are you looking for? - [Dion.]
My phone.
[Nicole.]
Did you lose your phone? - No, it's in my backpack.
- You better not lose that phone.
- I didn't.
Night, everyone.
- Night, sweetie.
He's still doing that? Making those videos for Mark? If Mark comes back, he wants to be able to catch him up on everything.
Mark's not coming back, Nic.
He's dead.
I know.
And to some degree, I think he knows that too.
It's just how he's dealing with it for right now, but Mm! I missed you so much.
[Dion.]
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Oh, Pinchy.
Where's my phone? I had it after school.
I had it with Tevin.
[gasps.]
BIONA.
I had it when I was working with Tevin! [Kat.]
Liquid dinner is my favorite.
Thank you.
I love this.
Can I have one? Sorry, I would give you this one, but it was given to me.
- Ah.
Who is she? - [Kat laughs.]
A girl I met.
[Nicole laughing.]
Um, excuse me, how many girls did you I have to.
Mom will kill me if I've lost that phone.
BIONA's not that far.
I can make it.
Yes, I can.
I'll be right back.
Wait.
Yes! [tense music plays.]
- [laughter.]
- I was making up for lost time.
How about you? You meet anybody while I was gone? Or do I need to sign you up for all the dating apps? Well, actually, Dion has a new trainer.
Tevin.
Tevin.
Come and talk to me.
- Yes.
- [Kat.]
Is he fine? - [Nicole.]
Fine.
- He fine.
- He fine.
- Ooh, yes, girl, he's fine! Why'd you come here with all your stuff? Why didn't you go straight home? [Kat.]
I sold it while I was gone.
- You did? You took the offer.
- I did, I did.
I got the money.
[Nicole.]
Okay.
- [Kat sighs.]
- [Nicole chuckles.]
Where are you gonna stay? Here, for now.
Oh my gosh, girl.
We are out of wine.
And I am hung-a-ry.
You got something to eat in here? [Kat groans.]
[Kat.]
Crispix? Who eats that? [David.]
Suzanne.
Hey, hey, wait up.
It's late, David.
I've got to get home.
The readings at the Atlanta sinkhole are spiking at levels never seen before.
- Just Atlanta? - [David.]
Yes.
The others are stable, but Atlanta looks like a bomb is going off.
Did you call the tech on duty? He's monitoring from the van.
He should I've been trying to reach him.
He's not answering.
[cell phone buzzing.]
[snoring.]
[chuckles.]
BIONA's finest.
[foreboding music plays.]
[foreboding music intensifies.]
[security guard.]
We're gonna need to see some ID.
Hey.
Call for backup.
[intermittent rumbling.]
[foreboding music continues.]
[intermittent rumbling continues.]
[phone ringing.]
Still nothing.
Get down there.
Call me as soon as you see what's happening, and tell no one.
The public can't know.
[PA system.]
 Alert.
Facility breach.
All available security report to the main entrance.
- Alert.
Facility breach.
- [alarm blaring.]
[Dion.]
Yes, I got my phone.
Something weird is going on at the sinkhole, Pinchy.
[grunting.]
[intermittent rumbling.]
- [Gary.]
Oh my God.
- [supernatural jingling.]
[Gary.]
Oh my God.
Look at this.
[chuckles.]
[supernatural jingling.]
[Gary sighs.]
[chuckles.]
[sighs.]
[chuckles.]
Ah, better get this.
Esperanza's not gonna believe this.
[camera clicks.]
[Gary.]
She is not gonna believe it.
Oh my God.
[sighs and chuckles.]
[grunts.]
[groaning.]
[groans.]
[security guard.]
Hands in the air! Take the right side.
Don't move! Hands where we can see 'em! [suspenseful music plays.]
[Suzanne.]
What's going on here? Pat.
[suspenseful music continues.]
- H-How? - I-I-I don't have powers anymore.
I'm here to help.
Help? You gotta believe me, Suzanne.
Something terrible is coming.
[security.]
Drop to your knees now! [suspenseful music intensifies.]
[supernatural jingling.]
[dramatic music plays.]
