The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers
The Ducks are a powerhouse organization.
Morrow. I gotta cut you.
Let's start our own team.
I'll find a rink. You guys
find four more players.
I will be your wall.
I can zero in on someone's weakness
and, like, destroy them.
Somebody dares you to do
something, you gotta do it.
I would not be an asset physically.
I have more of a podcast body.
Let's just get out there and have fun.
Thing is, getting your ass kicked
that bad isn't fun at all.
Just tell me what I need to do.
It's your decision, and I
think you should make it.
Are you kidding me?
You never don't tell me what to do.
Well, I'm starting now.
We have to get better.
Yes! The Don't Bothers
just won their first game.
You guys are so cute.
Is this your first date?
We're going to States.
Yeah!
Sofi, you're not playing on that knee.
- If I don't play
- We have to forfeit.
You know you didn't really beat us.
Let's settle this on the ice.
If we win, you drop out of the League.
- The Ducks are playing dirty.
- Penalty.
If we win, we become the Mighty Ducks.
Flying V!
two, three Ducks!
Welcome to the new season
of The Wraparound,
the number two youth hockey podcast
in Southeastern Minnesota.
Still number two.
Pulled off a hockey miracle last winter,
did not pick up a lot of listeners.
Let me catch you up.
A couple of months ago, we got bad,
though not unexpected, news.
The Ice Palace had been condemned.
On top of all the structural damage,
turns out where there's smoke
from the cocoa machine,
there's actual fire.
So, Coach Bombay called in
the best construction guy he knew.
Hey, guys.
Fulton!
You guys can't hang out here.
This wall could collapse any minute.
Even calling it a wall is kind of a lie.
Yeah, I'm new on this job but
generally, buckling's a bad sign,
- you know what I mean?
- Yeah.
Yeah, isn't this stuff kinda
dangerous for you guys?
- Come on, we're Bash Brothers.
- Piece of cake.
Yeah.
Yeah, why do you gotta do it so hard?
I'm trying to be like him
when I grow up. Look at him.
Our clubhouse was gone. Hockey was gone.
We were looking at the most
boring summer in human history.
I found a dime.
Wait. What is this?
It's some kind of invite.
We had been selected
to go to an invitation-only camp
in the greater Los Angeles
metropolitan area
for the best of the best
in youth hockey.
Guys, summer is saved.
Yeah!
Our fortunes had turned.
And that brings us to today.
Fans, join me on our road trip.
I don't think that's up to code.
Hey, Mighty Ducks, anyone
want a ride to California?
Yeah!
Oh, you guys, we're really doing this.
I can't even tell you how much
I loved summer camp as a kid.
Singing around the camp fire,
the s'mores, the friends
you're gonna make.
Plus, you guys get to
play the sport you love.
We are gonna have so much fun.
I noticed she's using the word
"we" a fair amount.
Yes. Yes, she is.
Come on. You didn't tell 'em?
No, no, I did not.
Ha-ha. I know Evan told you that
I'm going back to
law school in the fall,
so I left my job and I'm taking
the summer to get ready.
We don't really talk
about parents. So
I didn't exactly realize that I'd be
paying for a pricey summer camp.
So, the only way I could swing it
was to get a job there,
which gave me a steep discount.
And so, I'm gonna be
your dorm counselor.
But in a cool, chill way,
where I give you lots of space.
- I love you guys.
- We love you, too.
And we love space.
- Yeah.
- So, we're happy to have you.
And the space you'll give us.
- Space, yes.
- Space.
- Getting it. I'm getting the idea.
- Yeah.
All right, come on, let's head out.
Can I drive for a little?
No. You don't have a license.
Sure, but I do play
this driving video game
where I've won the Daytona 500,
like, a thousand times.
I've also died in several fiery crashes,
but I've learned from all of 'em.
Now it's a double no.
Okay, that's fair.
Hey, let's get that guy to honk.
- Honk. Come on.
- Honk your horn.
- Honk. Hey.
- Honk your horn.
Four states down. Well, fans,
there's a lot more in this country
that unites us than divides us.
Yes. We got him.
Come on. Think that's 'cause Evan's
mom was swerving into his lane.
Still counts.
Hey, I gotta say, I'm really excited
to go to camp with you.
- Away from three of our four parents.
- Yeah.
Me too. I got you
a little gift actually.
Aw!
Wait, is that pizza on a necklace?
Yep. Remember from our first date
at the pizza place?
Wait, that was a date? That was
more like studying for a math test.
No, that was definitely a date.
I was faking that I cared
about square roots.
How could you not care
about square roots?
There's no better way
to describe irrational numbers.
Right. It was a full-blown
math convention. Here.
Best piece of pizza I've ever had.
We're almost there, guys.
Yeah! Yeah!
Whoever thought of putting
chicken into nugget form,
I wanna give that guy a hug.
Yeah, I don't know
if we should've stopped.
They want us there at noon.
We're gonna be late.
Oh, come on. Can't be late for summer.
All right, everybody.
Welcome to EPIC,
the Elite Performance Ice Center.
How's everybody doin'?
All right. I am Coach Colin Cole,
and I started this place after
my days in the NHL because
I wanted to create the future
of the sport that I love,
with kids just like you.
All of you were invited here
because you are the best of the best
from across the country.
Breathe that in for a second.
Sounds good, right?
Now, what I wanna know is,
can you be better?
Every minute here, every
minute in life, is a decision.
Don't coast on how good you already are.
Choose the path of most resistance.
The Great One, Wayne Gretzky, once
We gotta work on that door, I don't
know how it's gonna stay shut.
I just need a trash can. Sir, you
know where the trash can is?
Oh, my God. We're
actually late for summer?
Mom, this seems, like,
really embarrassing.
It's fine. It's fine.
I'm sorry, who are you?
Hi. We're the Mighty Ducks.
They're the Mighty Ducks?
Um Let me check on that.
Yeah, we were kind of in the middle of
addressing the entire group here.
Phew. Sorry to interrupt your rally.
So, anyway, Wayne Gretzky,
The Great One, once said,
"I go to where the puck is going
to be, not to where it's been".
I want you to stop thinkin' about
the kind of player you've been,
and ask yourself what kind of
a hockey player are you going to be?
You wanna be a legend?
Do you wanna be a legend?
Take a hard look in the mirror
because only you can make that happen.
Whoa!
My mates, I got top bunk.
Any challengers?
- Go for it. I'm a roller.
- Sweet.
I shall watch over this room. And
all invaders will be vanquished.
Yeah, let's not tell any girls
I said that.
How great was that guy?
I mean, the head of the place.
- Pretty intense dude.
- Yeah.
You can tell by his sweatpants.
Taper cut means business.
Oh! Give me Pucky.
You brought a stuffed animal?
He's not a stuffed animal,
he's a pillow. Now give me.
If it's just a pillow, why
are we calling it "him?"
I don't know. Just give him to me.
I hope Koob's okay.
Can't believe they put him
in another room.
Um Hi. Um, excuse me, I'm just
- One sec.
- Okay.
Nineteen. Twenty.
You wanna do a set? You can work in.
No. No, I'm good actually.
I did mine on the bus.
Um
I guess we're roommates now. I'm Koob.
A.J. Lawrence. Fort Lauderdale.
Top of the food chain,
where champions are born.
My autograph's gonna be worth
a lot someday. If you want one.
Um
Okay.
Ten bucks.
Sweet.
- You're goin' down.
- I see it.
There you go. Pass it. Pass it
to Morrow. Morrow up the ice!
Hey, Sofi, Maya.
Hey, lady Ducks. Long may they reign.
Okay.
Yeah. Okay, well,
not all fans essentially.
Hey, Sam. I dare you
to stick your arm up
that vending machine
and get me a PowerAde.
I think I heard the word "dare".
- Yeah!
- Yes.
Sam! Sam! Sam!
Hey, guys. Hey. Uh
I was actually trying to put something
in the vending machine.
Have you seen Alex around?
Hey. What's goin' on?
Oh, uh, yeah, I gotta tell you
somethin'. There's been a mistake.
You're not the real Ducks.
What?
Yeah. We thought we invited the Ducks
that won Minnesota States.
You know, Coach T's team.
They come every year, but you guys won
the name in some
underground post-season thing.
And well, we
We invited the wrong team.
I dotted all the I's but I did
not cross the T's. Oops.
Yeah. And we're really sorry about that.
Um, it's our mistake
and we will make sure
that we get refunds
back to you right away.
Refunds?
Yeah. Well, look, I know
you're solid hockey players,
but the competition level
here is really high.
And trust me, I just don't think
this is gonna be a great fit.
Sorry.
And I'm gonna get you guys
drinks for the road.
Sometimes the return trip
feels a lot faster.
Right. Thanks.
Torn between how painful that was
and how handsome he is.
So what, Mom? We're just a mistake?
We're just here by mistake?
We are not a mistake.
No. But, Mom, this is
always how it goes.
I mean, we all work so hard, and
I really, really wanted to be here.
And he just walked in here
and told us, "Don't bother".
Uh, no. No.
Excuse me?
Coach Cole, you cannot
do this to these kids.
We drove all the way out here.
We passed four water parks,
we didn't stop once.
This is their entire summer.
Yeah, I know. And I feel terrible
about it. I really do. But
But then you go and you tell them
they're not the real Ducks?
No, I mean, they're not the Ducks
that we intended to invite.
They're unintended Ducks.
I wouldn't judge them so fast.
Last season we went
all the way to States.
I know, I looked you up.
The scrappy underdogs
somehow bucked the system.
That is exactly right.
But we don't do scrappy here,
we do excellent.
But you're not understanding.
We beat the "real Ducks".
That's how we got the name back.
Look I know we don't have
a fancy charter bus
and we might not
look like the nationally
ranked athletes you're used to,
but these kids have something special.
These kids have some kind of magic.
You sure you wanna take this on?
I am.
And you know what
you're gettin' yourself into?
I really think we can handle it here.
Okay, we'll see how this goes.
Ah! Thank you. You will
not regret this, Ice Man.
Also I work here, I think
you hired me. So thank you.
Oh, well, you're welcome.
Oh, and there's an icebreaker
in an hour over at the rink
so I guess we'll see you
and all your magic there.
Icebreaker sounds fun. Thank you.
Uh-huh.
Remember, we're here to have fun.
And you guys deserve to be here
just as much as any of those kids.
Go on out there and make some
new friends. It's an icebreaker.
All right, guys. Let's go.
Icebreaker, huh?
I guess I'm gonna need something
that starts with the letter N.
Hi, I'm Nick, and I
like nectarines, yeah.
Circle up!
All right, welcome to the icebreaker.
This is how we like to kick
things off here at EPIC.
Now some of you came
as a team, quack quack.
But you're no longer part of a team.
You're competing for yourself,
you're competing as an individual.
You're competing for the chance to play
in the World Hockey Summer Showcase,
in front of all the NHL
and college scouts.
I want you to take a look around.
Who do you see, huh?
What do you smell?
Is that fear?
Or is it French fries?
When I was comin' up
in youth hockey, I would
I would look around and I would
ask myself, "Can I beat that guy?
Can I beat that guy?
What about him? Can I beat this guy?"
Well, the answer better be yes,
'cause I can dominate every player,
I can dominate every play, I can
dominate every single second.
And that's what today is all about.
What the hell kinda icebreaker is this?
Okay. When these pucks drop,
your job is to score,
and to keep others
from scoring, all right?
You put the puck in that net,
you're safe and you can sit down.
Now if you're the last one on the ice,
then you gotta deal with the fact that,
well, you're the last one on the ice.
And I was thinking if I said the word
"nectarine", I'd get punched.
There's one rule.
Play hockey!
- Hey. Maya.
- Oh, hey, Sofi.
- Oh, my gosh, no.
- Seriously, you take the puck.
There we go.
That's right.
Uh
Hey, bud, how you doin'?
- Aw, that's a nice stick you got there.
- Yeah.
Hey!
That's number one!
- A.J. Lawrence. Let's go!
- Nice shot, A.J.!
I'm a goalie, man, I don't score goals.
I'm not a goalie, man,
and I don't score goals.
Get down!
- Go, go, go!
- Get out of here.
Come on. Let's go.
All right, let's go, let's go!
Put the biscuit in the basket.
Come on, there you go.
- Oh, no.
- Easy there.
All right. Come on.
Nice. Nice.
Get up, let's go.
Come on. Get up.
All right. Here we go!
Here we go! Who wants it?
Yeah!
Nice shot.
That's my boy.
It's an icebreaker,
get to know each other.
Okay, here. Get under it.
- I can't.
- Give me the puck. Make a ramp.
- Okay.
- Put it in!
Yes!
Next time.
Yeah!
Oh, it went in.
Hustle, hustle, hustle.
Let's go! Go, go, go!
Whoo!
All right, there's a few left.
That's six. Let's go!
Five. We got four left.
Three.
Down to you two. Let's go.
Shoot it!
You want me to shoot it?
Fine, I'll shoot it.
Come on, come on.
Nick, let's go.
Come on. Come on.
Come on, Nick. Let's go.
Come on.
Come on, buddy.
- Come on, Nick. Come on, come on.
- Come on.
Let's go! Come on.
Come on.
That's my freedom.
- Come on, Nick.
- I did it, guys.
Yeah. Yeah.
Look, I'm the last one.
Come on, man, you're better than that.
Not sure I am, Dad.
I've never been to sleepaway
camp before. Was that normal?
I wasn't allowed to watch Squid Game
but I think we were just in it.
Yeah. Was it just me or was that ice
harder than the ice back home?
Wow. Okay, you guys pack.
I'll fire up the RV,
we can be out of here
in half an hour. He was right, bad fit.
What are you talking about?
That was awesome.
I'm sorry, what icebreaker were you at?
Look, I pulled it up
on my phone already.
We can be home in 19 hours
if I don't stop driving.
You won't. I'll be bringing coffee
throughout the whole drive.
- I got you, girl.
- Excellent.
I gotta say, I did not hate that.
I mean, I hurt all over,
but in, like, a good way.
I just feel haunted.
Guys, are you serious? Come on,
we're staying, we can do this.
I know you love hockey. I was
excited about hockey summer camp,
but this is not summer. This is psycho.
This is not who we are.
Mom, you know how you said that
you were gonna give us some space?
Can that start now?
Okay, sure, yeah. Evan's right.
I am going to walk away and let
you guys sit here and figure it out.
'Kay, thanks.
You guys just come to a consensus
and let me know where we end up.
All right, guys, let's go, team meeting.
Look, guys, I know that was tough,
and I know they technically didn't
invite us here, but who cares.
We're the Ducks!
We've crashed every party
we've ever been to. Why stop now?
We have not run from a fight.
Come on, let's stay here and
show 'em how we play hockey.
I say let's run and not fight.
Mmm-hmm.
You know, sometimes we crash a party,
it's not very fun. You wanna know why?
'Cause they didn't want
you there in the first place.
Maybe they're handing out party favors
but they don't have a sweatshirt for you
because you weren't supposed to come.
That's just an example, all right?
It's never really happened to me.
But my point is, you
can avoid a lot of pain
by not putting yourself
in that situation in the first place.
Nick!
Look, I get not believing in yourself
and I understand that you think
it's gonna be nothing but pain,
but just think about where we
started as a team last season,
and where we are now.
There's honestly not a single group
of people that I believe in
more than you guys.
Eh.
I think, um, there are some people
I'd believe in more, like,
players who are better at hockey.
We saw a lot of them
out there on the ice today.
It's, like, they were everywhere.
So I think there were quite a few people
that I'd be more likely to believe in.
Hi, just checkin' in.
No? Okay, well, goodbye.
Let me know if I'm driving.
Bottom line, guys, we've come too far
and worked too hard to stop now.
Come on, what do you say?
Okay, I'm in, damn it.
We are amazing and I'd hate
to leave my boyfriend, so
Wait, you have a boyfriend?
We've been here, what, two hours?
We've been with you the whole time.
Yeah, he's my twin flame, it's
like more intense than soulmate.
Oh, that's cute. You come up with that?
Guys, this place is insane.
I like insane. I'm in.
Sof?
Well, it's not like there's much
going on in Minnesota for us,
and I wanna spend the summer
with you guys. So,
if we're together, I'm game.
- Oh, my
- Koob Koob, are you crying?
You really believe in us that much, Ev?
Yeah, I really do.
Well, then I guess I'll stay.
Okay, you know what? Fine.
Evan is just way better at this than me.
I think he's starting
to inspire me a little bit.
This is gonna be an awesome
summer, guys, bring it in. Come on.
- Yeah.
- Yeah, guys!
Well?
We're in pain, but we're staying.
Okay, I'll go get the ice packs.
Quack, quack, quack!
- So you're stayin'?
- Yeah.
Bad idea. They should've
listened to you.
- Hey.
- Hi.
Just gettin' some first-aid
for the children.
Yeah. It's part of the game.
Oh, please. Why do you hockey
people have to be so intense?
It's a game, lighten up.
Plus, it's summer, man.
You know what summer is?
Summer is a time for kids to get
great at hockey without
school gettin' in the way.
That's beautiful.
Get that printed on t-shirts.
That's not a bad idea. Maybe I will.
So, when you guys leavin'?
Well, we're not, we're staying.
Really? Even after that icebreaker,
you're comin' back for more.
The kids wanna stay.
And you?
- The kids wanna stay.
- Hmm.
I mean, I see a lot of red flags,
and I cannot promise you that
I'm not gonna do everything I can
to make this a fun summer for them.
Yeah, well, I look forward to that.
Oh, and schedules just went out
for tomorrow morning.
Summer starts at 5:00 a.m.

know how it's gonna stay shut.
I just need a trash can. Sir, you
know where the trash can is?
Oh, my God. We're
actually late for summer?
Mom, this seems, like,
really embarrassing.
It's fine. It's fine.
I'm sorry, who are you?
Hi. We're the Mighty Ducks.
They're the Mighty Ducks?
Um Let me check on that.
Yeah, we were kind of in the middle of
addressing the entire group here.
Phew. Sorry to interrupt your rally.
So, anyway, Wayne Gretzky,
The Great One, once said,
"I go to where the puck is going
to be, not to where it's been".
I want you to stop thinkin' about
the kind of player you've been,
and ask yourself what kind of
a hockey player are you going to be?
You wanna be a legend?
Do you wanna be a legend?
Take a hard look in the mirror
because only you can make that happen.
Whoa!
My mates, I got top bunk.
Any challengers?
- Go for it. I'm a roller.
- Sweet.
I shall watch over this room. And
all invaders will be vanquished.
Yeah, let's not tell any girls
I said that.
How great was that guy?
I mean, the head of the place.
- Pretty intense dude.
- Yeah.
You can tell by his sweatpants.
Taper cut means business.
Oh! Give me Pucky.
You brought a stuffed animal?
He's not a stuffed animal,
he's a pillow. Now give me.
If it's just a pillow, why
are we calling it "him?"
I don't know. Just give him to me.
I hope Koob's okay.
Can't believe they put him
in another room.
Um Hi. Um, excuse me, I'm just
- One sec.
- Okay.
Nineteen. Twenty.
You wanna do a set? You can work in.
No. No, I'm good actually.
I did mine on the bus.
Um
I guess we're roommates now. I'm Koob.
A.J. Lawrence. Fort Lauderdale.
Top of the food chain,
where champions are born.
My autograph's gonna be worth
a lot someday. If you want one.
Um
Okay.
Ten bucks.
Sweet.
- You're goin' down.
- I see it.
There you go. Pass it. Pass it
to Morrow. Morrow up the ice!
Hey, Sofi, Maya.
Hey, lady Ducks. Long may they reign.
Okay.
Yeah. Okay, well,
not all fans essentially.
Hey, Sam. I dare you
to stick your arm up
that vending machine
and get me a PowerAde.
I think I heard the word "dare".
- Yeah!
- Yes.
Sam! Sam! Sam!
Hey, guys. Hey. Uh
I was actually trying to put something
in the vending machine.
Have you seen Alex around?
Hey. What's goin' on?
Oh, uh, yeah, I gotta tell you
somethin'. There's been a mistake.
You're not the real Ducks.
What?
Yeah. We thought we invited the Ducks
that won Minnesota States.
You know, Coach T's team.
They come every year, but you guys won
the name in some
underground post-season thing.
And well, we
We invited the wrong team.
I dotted all the I's but I did
not cross the T's. Oops.
Yeah. And we're really sorry about that.
Um, it's our mistake
and we will make sure
that we get refunds
back to you right away.
Refunds?
Yeah. Well, look, I know
you're solid hockey players,
but the competition level
here is really high.
And trust me, I just don't think
this is gonna be a great fit.
Sorry.
And I'm gonna get you guys
drinks for the road.
Sometimes the return trip
feels a lot faster.
Right. Thanks.
Torn between how painful that was
and how handsome he is.
So what, Mom? We're just a mistake?
We're just here by mistake?
We are not a mistake.
No. But, Mom, this is
always how it goes.
I mean, we all work so hard, and
I really, really wanted to be here.
And he just walked in here
and told us, "Don't bother".
Uh, no. No.
Excuse me?
Coach Cole, you cannot
do this to these kids.
We drove all the way out here.
We passed four water parks,
we didn't stop once.
This is their entire summer.
Yeah, I know. And I feel terrible
about it. I really do. But
But then you go and you tell them
they're not the real Ducks?
No, I mean, they're not the Ducks
that we intended to invite.
They're unintended Ducks.
I wouldn't judge them so fast.
Last season we went
all the way to States.
I know, I looked you up.
The scrappy underdogs
somehow bucked the system.
That is exactly right.
But we don't do scrappy here,
we do excellent.
But you're not understanding.
We beat the "real Ducks".
That's how we got the name back.
Look I know we don't have
a fancy charter bus
and we might not
look like the nationally
ranked athletes you're used to,
but these kids have something special.
These kids have some kind of magic.
You sure you wanna take this on?
I am.
And you know what
you're gettin' yourself into?
I really think we can handle it here.
Okay, we'll see how this goes.
Ah! Thank you. You will
not regret this, Ice Man.
Also I work here, I think
you hired me. So thank you.
Oh, well, you're welcome.
Oh, and there's an icebreaker
in an hour over at the rink
so I guess we'll see you
and all your magic there.
Icebreaker sounds fun. Thank you.
Uh-huh.
Remember, we're here to have fun.
And you guys deserve to be here
just as much as any of those kids.
Go on out there and make some
new friends. It's an icebreaker.
All right, guys. Let's go.
Icebreaker, huh?
I guess I'm gonna need something
that starts with the letter N.
Hi, I'm Nick, and I
like nectarines, yeah.
Circle up!
All right, welcome to the icebreaker.
This is how we like to kick
things off here at EPIC.
Now some of you came
as a team, quack quack.
But you're no longer part of a team.
You're competing for yourself,
you're competing as an individual.
You're competing for the chance to play
in the World Hockey Summer Showcase,
in front of all the NHL
and college scouts.
I want you to take a look around.
Who do you see, huh?
What do you smell?
Is that fear?
Or is it French fries?
When I was comin' up
in youth hockey, I would
I would look around and I would
ask myself, "Can I beat that guy?
Can I beat that guy?
What about him? Can I beat this guy?"
Well, the answer better be yes,
'cause I can dominate every player,
I can dominate every play, I can
dominate every single second.
And that's what today is all about.
What the hell kinda icebreaker is this?
Okay. When these pucks drop,
your job is to score,
and to keep others
from scoring, all right?
You put the puck in that net,
you're safe and you can sit down.
Now if you're the last one on the ice,
then you gotta deal with the fact that,
well, you're the last one on the ice.
And I was thinking if I said the word
"nectarine", I'd get punched.
There's one rule.
Play hockey!
- Hey. Maya.
- Oh, hey, Sofi.
- Oh, my gosh, no.
- Seriously, you take the puck.
There we go.
That's right.
Uh
Hey, bud, how you doin'?
- Aw, that's a nice stick you got there.
- Yeah.
Hey!
That's number one!
- A.J. Lawrence. Let's go!
- Nice shot, A.J.!
I'm a goalie, man, I don't score goals.
I'm not a goalie, man,
and I don't score goals.
Get down!
- Go, go, go!
- Get out of here.
Come on. Let's go.
All right, let's go, let's go!
Put the biscuit in the basket.
Come on, there you go.
- Oh, no.
- Easy there.
All right. Come on.
Nice. Nice.
Get up, let's go.
Come on. Get up.
All right. Here we go!
Here we go! Who wants it?
Yeah!
Nice shot.
That's my boy.
It's an icebreaker,
get to know each other.
Okay, here. Get under it.
- I can't.
- Give me the puck. Make a ramp.
- Okay.
- Put it in!
Yes!
Next time.
Yeah!
Oh, it went in.
Hustle, hustle, hustle.
Let's go! Go, go, go!
Whoo!
All right, there's a few left.
That's six. Let's go!
Five. We got four left.
Three.
Down to you two. Let's go.
Shoot it!
You want me to shoot it?
Fine, I'll shoot it.
Come on, come on.
Nick, let's go.
Come on. Come on.
Come on, Nick. Let's go.
Come on.
Come on, buddy.
- Come on, Nick. Come on, come on.
- Come on.
Let's go! Come on.
Come on.
That's my freedom.
- Come on, Nick.
- I did it, guys.
Yeah. Yeah.
Look, I'm the last one.
Come on, man, you're better than that.
Not sure I am, Dad.
I've never been to sleepaway
camp before. Was that normal?
I wasn't allowed to watch Squid Game
but I think we were just in it.
Yeah. Was it just me or was that ice
harder than the ice back home?
Wow. Okay, you guys pack.
I'll fire up the RV,
we can be out of here
in half an hour. He was right, bad fit.
What are you talking about?
That was awesome.
I'm sorry, what icebreaker were you at?
Look, I pulled it up
on my phone already.
We can be home in 19 hours
if I don't stop driving.
You won't. I'll be bringing coffee
throughout the whole drive.
- I got you, girl.
- Excellent.
I gotta say, I did not hate that.
I mean, I hurt all over,
but in, like, a good way.
I just feel haunted.
Guys, are you serious? Come on,
we're staying, we can do this.
I know you love hockey. I was
excited about hockey summer camp,
but this is not summer. This is psycho.
This is not who we are.
Mom, you know how you said that
you were gonna give us some space?
Can that start now?
Okay, sure, yeah. Evan's right.
I am going to walk away and let
you guys sit here and figure it out.
'Kay, thanks.
You guys just come to a consensus
and let me know where we end up.
All right, guys, let's go, team meeting.
Look, guys, I know that was tough,
and I know they technically didn't
invite us here, but who cares.
We're the Ducks!
We've crashed every party
we've ever been to. Why stop now?
We have not run from a fight.
Come on, let's stay here and
show 'em how we play hockey.
I say let's run and not fight.
Mmm-hmm.
You know, sometimes we crash a party,
it's not very fun. You wanna know why?
'Cause they didn't want
you there in the first place.
Maybe they're handing out party favors
but they don't have a sweatshirt for you
because you weren't supposed to come.
That's just an example, all right?
It's never really happened to me.
But my point is, you
can avoid a lot of pain
by not putting yourself
in that situation in the first place.
Nick!
Look, I get not believing in yourself
and I understand that you think
it's gonna be nothing but pain,
but just think about where we
started as a team last season,
and where we are now.
There's honestly not a single group
of people that I believe in
more than you guys.
Eh.
I think, um, there are some people
I'd believe in more, like,
players who are better at hockey.
We saw a lot of them
out there on the ice today.
It's, like, they were everywhere.
So I think there were quite a few people
that I'd be more likely to believe in.
Hi, just checkin' in.
No? Okay, well, goodbye.
Let me know if I'm driving.
Bottom line, guys, we've come too far
and worked too hard to stop now.
Come on, what do you say?
Okay, I'm in, damn it.
We are amazing and I'd hate
to leave my boyfriend, so
Wait, you have a boyfriend?
We've been here, what, two hours?
We've been with you the whole time.
Yeah, he's my twin flame, it's
like more intense than soulmate.
Oh, that's cute. You come up with that?
Guys, this place is insane.
I like insane. I'm in.
Sof?
Well, it's not like there's much
going on in Minnesota for us,
and I wanna spend the summer
with you guys. So,
if we're together, I'm game.
- Oh, my
- Koob Koob, are you crying?
You really believe in us that much, Ev?
Yeah, I really do.
Well, then I guess I'll stay.
Okay, you know what? Fine.
Evan is just way better at this than me.
I think he's starting
to inspire me a little bit.
This is gonna be an awesome
summer, guys, bring it in. Come on.
- Yeah.
- Yeah, guys!
Well?
We're in pain, but we're staying.
Okay, I'll go get the ice packs.
Quack, quack, quack!
- So you're stayin'?
- Yeah.
Bad idea. They should've
listened to you.
- Hey.
- Hi.
Just gettin' some first-aid
for the children.
Yeah. It's part of the game.
Oh, please. Why do you hockey
people have to be so intense?
It's a game, lighten up.
Plus, it's summer, man.
You know what summer is?
Summer is a time for kids to get
great at hockey without
school gettin' in the way.
That's beautiful.
Get that printed on t-shirts.
That's not a bad idea. Maybe I will.
So, when you guys leavin'?
Well, we're not, we're staying.
Really? Even after that icebreaker,
you're comin' back for more.
The kids wanna stay.
And you?
- The kids wanna stay.
- Hmm.
I mean, I see a lot of red flags,
and I cannot promise you that
I'm not gonna do everything I can
to make this a fun summer for them.
Yeah, well, I look forward to that.
Oh, and schedules just went out
for tomorrow morning.
Summer starts at 5:00 a.m.
