Here we are. We are backstage
at the Titan Arena.
Wow.
[Dwayne] You can feel the energy.
You can feel the mana in the room.
You can feel it in the air.
The crowd is ready.
[crowd cheering]
The athletes are ready.
-Good luck, bro. Have fun.
-You too, bro.
[Dwayne] Everybody's ready.
Here we go.
Everyday people from all across America
have once again answered my call,
men and women willing to push
themselves to their limits
in pursuit of a common goal.
-I wanna be a Titan.

I'm gonna be a Titan.
Wow!
Welcome to season two of The Titan Games!
Each week,
competitors will challenge each other
on the most epic obstacles ever created.
That's more fencing than
I use for Kevin Hart's playpen.
[laughs]
[Alex] But look at the power!
[Dwayne] They'll need strength, speed,
and, above all else, heart.
Two brothers.
The younger brother is not giving up!
[Cari] Oh, my goodness!
-Is your Mommy gonna win?
-Yeah!
[Alex] Oh, my God!
Mama!
[Dwayne]
They're thinking about their families.
They're thinking about their life.
They're thinking about everything
that they've had to overcome.
Awesome.
[Jaime] It's my job
to show them how to live life.
And this is it right here.
[Alex] It's inches!
[Dwayne] The winners will move on
to the toughest challenge of them all.
Mount Olympus,
for a chance to become a Titan,
but in order to be a Titan,
first
you've got to beat one.
And this season, it's harder than ever.
I've divided the competition
into three regions,
and handpicked world-class athletes
to reign over my mountain in each.
In the East,
UFC champion,
Tyron Woodley,
and Olympic gold medalist,
Hannah Teter.
In the West,
Super Bowl champion,
Victor Cruz,
and American Ninja Warrior superstar
Jessie Graff.
And in the Central,
ten-time NFL Pro Bowler,
Joe Thomas,
and the undisputed, undefeated,
middleweight boxing champion of the world
and Olympic gold medalist,
Claressa Shields.
If any competitor is able to defeat
one of my Titans,
they'll take their place
and fight to defend their crown
against new competitors.
Get up!
The Titans who win each region
will face each other in the finale.
Where one man and one woman
will be crowned
Titan Champion.
[crowd cheering]
[Alex] Ladies and gentlemen,

[whoops] Welcome to The Titan Games!
Now, tonight, I have personally
picked two monster athletes
who have set astronomical levels
of awesome.
One of the most dominant offensive tackles
in NFL history,
Joe Thomas.
And one of the greatest boxers
of all time,
Claressa Shields.
Will one of the Central competitors
defeat these living legends?
Let's find out.
Let The Titan Games begin!
My name's Alexis Balliet.
I'm 27 years old.
I am a quality specialist in chocolate.
People think that I eat it all day,
or that's what my job is,
but really what it is,
it's customer focus.
If I tasted it every day,
I don't know how well
my body would respond,
but I do have to at times.
Let's just say, my nieces and nephews love
when I bring home a ten-pound bar.
So, one of my hobbies
besides working and life,
um, I shoot a bow and arrow.
So, when I'm out there with the bow,
I do get compared to Katniss Everdeen
in The Hunger Games.
My slogan, I just love it,
uh, is "barbells and bows."
Barbells is
is what I do every day.
I lift weights,
I love it. I love being a strong woman
and lifting that.
Um, and then the side piece is bows.
If I'm focusing on that target,
there's nothing else that I see,
there's nothing else I hear,
and with The Titan Games,
it's going to be very similar.
I have this focus that I'm gonna bring
straight to the arena.
I'm Chantae McMillan, I'm 31,
and I'm from Rolla, Missouri.
Growing up, track and field
was my entire life.
My heart, my mind, my soul,
were always set on going to the Olympics.
Every single day when I stepped
on the track,
that's what I thought about.
-[Peggy] Big throw.
-[man] There you go, Tae.
-Say, "Yay, Mommy."
-Yay, Mommy.
[man and Peggy] Yay.
[Chantae]
All my sacrifices were finally validated
when I competed in the Olympics
for the 2012 team in London.
Even though I didn't medal,
it's really hard to put into words
how incredible that moment was,
representing the United States of America.
Like, that was me.
[chuckles]
-[Otto giggling]
-[man] I'm gonna get ya.
[Chantae] Since competing in
the Olympics, a lot has changed.
I married an amazing man,
and 18 months ago
we had a beautiful boy, Otto.
[Chantae and Otto imitating car engine]
I always want him to know
that he is capable
of accomplishing anything
that he sets his mind to.
I love being a mom, but that doesn't mean
the competitive fire in me has gone away.
Being on The Titan Games
is another chance for me to compete.
It's just something that I need.
I'm chasing a dream, I guess,
a big goal to win this.
[crowd cheering]
[Cari] So, it's Alexis versus Chantae.
The first one to win two battles
earns the right to face
DJ's handpicked Titan,
Claressa Shields, on Mount Olympus.
Hey, everyone, I'm Cari Champion,
I'm here with my favorite guy,
Alex Goldenboy Mendez,
and we'll be calling all
the shots for you this season.
So glad to be back this season.
We're pushing the limits even higher,
and athletes will be facing
some of the most insanely
fun challenges ever seen,
like this one, Launch Pad.
Chantae and Alexis
are going to have to propel
themselves up and kick off four slabs
at 250 pounds apiece.
The first to bring down
all four wins the challenge.
[cheers and applause]
What do you call flying through the air
like Gabby Douglas
and landing ferocious drop kicks
like "Macho Man" Randy Savage?
I call it fun as hell. Ooh, yeah, dig it?
This is Launch Pad.
[Alex] Here we go!
Alexis in the blue, Chantae in the red.
The name of the game here is technique.
You need to have some momentum
in order to kick the center
of those heavy slabs.
[Chantae grunts]
[Alex] And just like that,
both competitors knock off
their first slab.
There you go!
[Alex] And they do it again!
Chantae and Alexis, each
with two down, two to go.
[Cari] My goodness,
these women are amazing.
-Let's go, Alex! Come on!

-[Chantae yells]
-Come on.
[Alex] We got ourselves a neck
and neck race here folks.
[Alexis grunts, screams]
[Cari] Whoa!
[Alex] Both competitors knock off
their third slab!

to fall first?
This is insane.
These two incredible
athletes are bringing it all.
Oh, it is a day that belongs

The best thing about what we're doing here

with my guy, Goldenboy, as usual,
and if you're asking
who that is behind us,
well, that's Bartley Weaver.
He's actually an NFL
Tennessee Titan mascot,
if you're wondering why he's
wearing that ridiculous getup.
I'm genuinely, genuinely afraid.
Yeah, I agree with you.
He may be a Titan on the football field,
but the man behind the helmet
is actually one of tonight's competitors.
Whoo!
I'm Bartley Weaver. I'm 31 years old.
I grew up in Cave City, Kentucky,
and I'm actually already a Titan.
[growling]
I am the mascot for the Tennessee Titans.
I love being the Titan.
Getting to walk out in front
of 69,000 fans
screaming and yelling.
[crowd cheering]
[Bartley] You see the little kids
that have never been
to a football game before,
and they get to meet the Superhero
on game day. It's pretty awesome.
I've gotta be fit for duty.
That requires me working out
six to seven days a week,
multiple hours a day,
but I'm also a professional
competitive eater.
I'm number 32 in the world
and number one in Kentucky.
I've been known to put down
20,000 calories pretty easy.
I can curl a lot of pizza boxes. [laughs]
I've done everything that I can do
to get ready for this.
I've been training the past 19 years.
Now's my chance to come in
here and show everybody
that it's not just a suit that I put on.
I'm a real life Titan.
[crowd cheering]
My name is Matt Chan, I'm 42 years old,
and I'm a firefighter
from Denver, Colorado.
[alarm ringing]
When the emergency tones drop,
first thing that goes through my mind is,
"This is an opportunity to serve."
-[sirens blaring]
-[horns honking]
[Matt] But I'm at my happiest
when I'm outside with my wife.
In 2014, just going for
a bike ride with Cherie,
I took a fall.
Right away, I knew that
I was in big trouble
because I saw the amount
of swelling in my leg.
I thought to myself, I'm done.
Matt's injury was
the scariest moment of my life.
I thought I was gonna lose the person
that makes me feel alive.
[Matt] When I got to the trauma center,
immediately the doctor told me
that he was gonna do his best
to save my leg.
That was mind numbing.
I had some great doctors, and
they were able to save my leg,
but I had a long road
of recovery in front of me.
I was lucky enough to have Cherie
there with me.
She actually told me
to give life a go again.
And that's why I'm at The Titan Games.
I'm 42 years old, I'm banged up,
but I'm determined to prove
there's nothing stopping you.
[crowd cheering]

[Alex] Matt and Bartley
will go head to head in a best of three.
First one to win two
will have a chance to tackle
DJ's Titan, Joe Thomas.
Their first battle is on Nuts and Bolts.
You need strength and strategy
to conquer this challenge.
Each wall is loaded down
with nearly 2,000 pounds.
You have to screw off the end caps,
strip off the weights,
and when you think the wall
is light enough,
run to other side and try to pull it down.
First one to bring down their wall
and pull the victory chain,
gets the win.
Give us a little heads up
on your strategy.
What would it be if it was you?
Well, I think I would
probably be one of those guys
who are like, "Okay, I think I can do it,"
you know with, like,
1,000 pounds left still.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And then I'm
and then my ego's like,
"No. No, no, no. Okay."
[crowd cheering]
[Alex] And we're off.
We've got Bartley in the blue,
and Matt Chan in the red,
and look at them go on that first end cap.
Come on, Matt!

[Alex] The gold plates are 135 pounds.
The silver, 80.
You need to remove all the
weight from the top two poles
before you can attack the bottom row.
And these two men are actually
right next to each other,
neck and neck.
And look at the size of these men.
270 for Bartley, 215 for Matt.
These guys are tanks.
Two thousand pounds of weight.
Come on.
[Alex] Bartley has stripped off
about half of his weight,
and there's still over 700 pounds.
Oh, he's going for the rope.
He just can't wait,
but he's taking a huge risk.

In a stalemate like this,
we talk about that lactic acid buildup,
we talk about their adrenals
being shot right now,
and really, it's just become a mental game
because their bodies are so stressed.

pushing Matt Chan back.
The bridge is getting narrower.

or else Bartley Weaver's gonna walk away

pole for a blind tug of war,
holding yourself 10 feet off the ground.
Whoever punches the steel
plate behind them first
is headed right to Mount Olympus.
Alexis in the blue. Chantae in the red.
Gotta pull out the silver poles first,
then it's onward to the golden pole.
It looks like Alexis has the edge.
She's going for the golden pole.

that thought they were the best,
but they had to try and get past me,
and they couldn't do it.

because he is arguably

made ten Pro Bowls.

I'm Jess Weatherby.
I live on a small family farm
in Waco, Texas.
To say I'm busy is absolutely
an understatement.
I have four kids,
and as far as animals go,
we have pretty much everything.
We have cattle, pigs, goats,
chickens, turkeys, ducks,
four dogs, six cats,
and that's a lot of mouths to feed.
[rooster crowing]
It's time to wake up.
Life on this crazy little farm
is definitely my idea of perfect.
And when you stack it this time,
put the corn together.
But when three different
orthopedic surgeons told me
that I would need a full hip replacement,
it was absolutely terrifying.
It was devastating.
I mean, who needs
a hip replacement at age 39?
But I refused to take
that news sitting down.
And so I got to work
and created my own farmer fitness plan
to heal my body while on the farm.
Being on the farm, you build
a different kind of strength.
You're out there doing things
that you don't do in a gym.
Within nine months, I was in
the best shape of my life.
Farm chores on the daily
is absolutely the best workout there is.
Once I got into fitness,
I was doing things that
I never would've imagined.
My Mom, she's really strong,
and she doesn't give up.
And now, I'm at The Titan Games.
I'm going to show my kids
that just like back on the farm,
if you want something,
you put in the hard work,
and this mama is going to become a Titan.
My name is Jaime Seeman,
I'm 35 years old,
and I'm from Omaha, Nebraska.
I live a very busy life.
I'm a mom of three,
and I am a practicing OB-GYN.

To be able to deliver this newborn life
it's just so, so rewarding,
and I'm so honored to be a part of that.
I do surgery,
annual well-care visits, infertility.
I have a full spectrum practice.
We have a little bit of
a circus in our household.
My husband works at night.
I work during the day and the night.
So, a typical day for me
is waking up at 4:30
and heading to the gym.
Every morning might look different.
I might have surgeries or inductions
or C-sections to do,
or I might get to spend
the morning with my daughters
and cook them breakfast and
get them dressed for school.
[girl exclaiming]

I'm here to become a Titan
not only for me
but for my daughters.
Every single day I work to show them
they can have absolutely anything
that they're willing to work for.
It's my ball!
Now, we all know The Titan Games
is about the intense
competition in the arena,
but it's also about family,
and these two families with me are about
to watch their moms battle it out.

-Yeah.
Nice. Well, this is gonna be
very exciting.

[Alex] It's a race across six fences
hanging ten feet in the air.
Both athletes have to share the first four
as they scramble sideways,
but the fifth section is too far to reach,
so, they have to crank it
closer then leap.
The first one to reach the victory chain
grabs the win.

Farmer Jess in the red,
and it is a race to the victory chain,
but they're gonna be going
sideways the whole time, Cari.
[Cari] Jaime is really impressive.
She's a former three sport
athlete in college
and her motto is,
"You can be fit and fabulous,
"but more importantly,
strong is beautiful,"
and she's doing it for her daughters.
Wow, this is close.
[Alex] How much do you want it?
Dr. Jaime continuing to push
this one forward.
She's gonna have a lead
ever so slightly here.
But Farmer Jess right behind her.

but it is actually gonna

Many of them go home to broken homes,
and I know firsthand what that is like.
My mother was 16 years old
when she had me.
She struggled a lot,
and we bounced around place to place.
We never really had a place to call home.
One of the most important things
that I always want you to know
is that you will never
be perfect as individuals.
Life really began when my pops,
at the time who was just a stranger,
took me in at nine years old,
me and my little brother,
and officially adopted us.
But if you work every day
to strive to get closer to perfection,
you cannot be wrong.
Larry kind of saw what was going on,
he knew my mother, and so
he noticed that we weren't living
in the best of an environment.
It's important that you walk out of here
with your head high
and that you walk knowing
that tomorrow's a new opportunity
to be a better person, to be a better man,
to be a better player.
My pops guided me through life,
and as a teacher, that's what
I wanna do for my students.
It doesn't matter where you come from
or the adversities that you faced,
you can become a Titan.

I started getting into fitness
and body building,
And a year and a half ago,
she was cleared by her doctor,
and she can start working out with me.
Now, she's done a 180.
You wouldn't know
that she has a heart condition.

The way she glows up makes me glow up.

Isabel is a huge motivation
for me to become a Titan.

I got kind of jumbled up on the cage.
When we started smashing the hammer,
