The Dark Moon

[Cheers and applause.]
[Dance music.]
Oh, yeah.
It's a party.
Welcome to Wolf Watch.
I'm your host, Jill Wagner, also known as Kate Argent.
[Cheers and applause.]
Thank you.
And this is the weekly Teen Wolf aftershow that brings together cast members and celebrity fans to discuss all of the madness of the past 60 minutes.
I'm so happy that one of our favorite guests from last season, Cole Plante - Yeah! - Will be here every week as our house DJ.
Yeah, Cole! [Cheers and applause.]
And tonight, we're kicking off the new season in a big way by throwing a party with the stars of Teen Wolf.
We've got Scott, Tyler Posey.
- Whoo! - Stiles, Dylan O'Brien.
And Lydia, Holland Roden.
Plus, the mastermind behind the show, executive producer Jeff Davis.
- Jeff Davis! - Oh, yeah.
And we'll be getting live performances from Jesse McCartney and Echosmith.
[Cheers and applause.]
Yeah, that's gonna be great.
So I just want to get right into this episode.
Jeff, the first question is for you.
How much time has passed between the ending of season three and the beginning of season four? About two months have passed, just enough time to create some new dynamics with the relationships between all of our friends in our pack and enough time for them to do a little grieving, so we can come back with a bang.
And speaking of grieving, how much does the death of Allison still affect all of the characters this season? For Scott, I mean, one, Allison was his first love, only love so far, you know.
He's got a lot of feelings for Kira, um, but it's different with Allison, um, along with everybody else who's had their first love.
It's intense, especially they're still so young.
And the relationship wasn't that long ago, you know? So there's still a lot of feelings for Allison, and I think it's like a coming-of-age moment.
I think he's kind of numb from Allison's death.
And, yes, Scott's definitely affected, and he will be the rest of his life, I think.
Mm-hmm.
What about you, Dylan? Well, Scott is Stiles' best friend, and he kind of lives and breathes anything that he does, you know.
So, I mean, not to the extent that he does, obviously, but that's that's it for Stiles.
- He feels his pain.
- Both: Yeah.
He knows what Allison meant to Scott, and, you know, Allison was someone to Stiles too as well.
It's not like he didn't have a relationship with her.
It's mainly that, I guess, for him.
And, Holland, I mean - Yeah.
- That was your best friend.
I think there's there's several times throughout the season that we don't forget about her, we know she's there, you know, it's the memory lives on, and we bring it up naturally, - like any situation, you know.
- Right.
You go through life.
You've lost someone.
It's gonna come up, and so That's why we titled the episode - "The Dark Moon" - Mm-hmm.
'Cause it's a time of grieving, a time of reflection, uh, when the moon is least visible in the sky.
And that's why Lydia knows when she's asked by Araya in the episode.
And it's something that's been on her mind.
Uh, but I think it's important for a show like this too to experience these kind of struggles, - uh, for teenagers especially.
- Mm-hmm.
Uh, you do lose people in life.
And in our characters' lives actually, it's a way for them to, uh, sort of graduate towards adulthood.
Right.
All right, well, moving on from death to love, Dylan Yeah.
Finally, I mean, it seems like Stiles - has been so unlucky in love.
- Doing some kissing.
- Doing some kissing.
- And he's got a girlfriend.
How does he feel about it? Yeah, Stiles has always had feelings for one other girl, you know, in his life, and that was that's been Lydia.
It's sort of like he's grown up a little bit and just understands that he can't force someone to love him like that, you know? Yeah, you have to move on at a certain point.
Yeah, and Malia is somebody who shares the same feelings as he does with her, and it's something new.
And I think they're both really innocent and really, uh, uh, funny.
Uh, I think their characters you know, the dynamic really works together.
- I love Malia for Stiles, yeah.
- Yeah, I do too.
Okay, guys, no party is complete without music.
So here to perform his new single, Superbad, off his new album, In Ttechnicolor, which drops July 22nd, here is Jesse McCartney! [Cheers and applause.]
[Superbad playing.]
Uh she's a miracle she got everybody talking she don't care at all watch the way she's walking, ooh she's a classy girl got danger in her touch she should come with a warning when she struts her stuff every head is turning ooh she's a classy girl uh my girl is superbad, super stacked got no time for photographs, watch out my girl is superbad, that's a fact knock your train right off the track watch out she's divine she's divine - all the time - all the time and anything she does is always by design my girl is superbad, that's a fact knock your train right off the track watch out treated like a queen don't need no permission sexy's her routine she's the definition, ooh she's a classy girl my girl is superbad, super stacked got no time for photographs, watch out my girl is superbad, that's a fact knock your train right off the track watch out she's divine she's divine - all the time - all the time and anything she does is always by design my girl is superbad, that's a fact knock your train right off the track watch out You feel me? Thank you.
Oh, yeah! Thank you so much, Jesse, for being here.
You guys can catch him on tour this summer.
Check out his Twitter for more information.
And we've got so much more to talk about from tonight's episode of Teen Wolf.
And we have an exclusive look at the season to come.
All that, when Wolf Watch returns.
[Laughs.]
Cole, let's play some music.
- [Dance music.]
- [Cheers and applause.]
[Dance music.]
[Cheers and applause.]
All right, welcome back to the Wolf Watch premiere party.
I'm Jill Wagner here with our house DJ, Cole Plante.
Yeah! And on the couch are the V.
I.
P.
s of Beacon Hills, Tyler Posey, Dylan O'Brien, Holland Roden, and Jeff Davis.
All right, let's get back into the new season.
Jeff, at the end of the episode, Scott and Braeden find Derek Kind of.
But it's it's a teenage version of Derek.
- Yes.
- You can see how this might be a little confusing for us all.
Please explain what is going on.
- What's confusing about it? - Why is it confusing? Well [laughter.]
That's explained, actually, in the second episode, uh, which part of which is going to be the challenge for Scott and Stiles, uh, turning Derek back to normal.
What we're gonna see is it has long-lasting effects.
It, uh, initiates a change in Derek, uh, that is not going to be very good.
So there are ominous things happening.
- Mm, something Kate did, right? - Sounds scary.
- Yes.
- Damn you, Kate! - It's always Kate.
- Damn you, Kate.
I need a T-shirt that says that.
"Damn you, Kate.
" Uh, okay, so your character, Scott, lets out this massive roar - I do.
- In the cave.
It was so good.
- Thank you.
- But I need to refer to our, um, resident scream expert here.
- Holland, how did he do? - How did I do? - I think you did great.
- Are you sure? - I don't know.
- Come on.
- That was, like, an uneasy - A growl a growl is like What was that, Cole? It was a bit uneasy right there.
- "You did great" - No, what is a growl is a - It's noncommittal, huh? - What is it? - Both: Yeah.
- It's a Yeah, it's a scream on steroids.
So clearly, Scott could be on some supernatural steroids.
- I'm not on steroids! - Oh, wow.
He's got a fake those are fake screams.
This is turning into something else.
No.
Okay, so, Dylan, your character, Stiles, has been kind of training Malia, and, uh Yeah, they have feelings.
What are [Laughs.]
- Well, to be in the pack, really.
- Yeah, yeah.
So what are some of the things that, uh, you're teaching her? Malia just hasn't lived, um, you know, uh, as a person yet.
Like, I'm sort of you know, Stiles is sort of teaching her how to be a friend, how to you know, how to have people in her life, um, just, like, the social aspect of things, I guess.
And she does have some, um, you know, funny instincts, being a coyote and leaping into life at the age of 17.
So Right.
All right, Cole, what's up? - How you doing? - Hey, how are you? - I'm good.
- Yeah, buddy! I'm loving what you're doing on the show, by the way.
Thank you.
I'm loving what you're doing.
- Oh, stop.
- I'm loving what they're doing.
I love what you're doing.
Stop it.
- Especially you.
- Um - You're the best.
- Speaking of the show, how did you like the show tonight? - I loved it.
- What was your favorite moment? I think it's a great intro episode.
I guess you could kind of see in these past two months, the whole pack has really come together as a sort of cohesive team, and, you know, they come into this club, Stiles and Lydia have a plan.
They're pretty confident.
You have Arden, like, way out there.
You have Malia.
You have Scott.
So it's this really solid, confident aspect you see that I think sort of grew after last season.
I think that's really cool.
And new villains.
- I love new villains.
- You're the man, Cole.
We've got some really good villains.
Okay.
[Laughter.]
All right, well, we have to take another break.
But when we return, we'll shout out this week's hottest Teen Wolf character, so don't move.
Cole, can you give us some music again, please? - [Cheers and applause.]
- [Dance music.]
[Hip-hop music.]
We're the wolf pack girls and we're happy to be here - Whoo! - rapping about Teen Wolf at the Wolf Watch premiere we can't wait to see what goes on in season four so watch Monday nights if you want to see more [cheers and applause.]
Give it up for the wolf pack girls! My girls.
All right, well, we're back with Wolf Watch.
Cole and I are partying with Tyler Posey, Dylan O'Brien, Holland Roden, and Jeff Davis.
And the club is packed with people, including the stars of MTV's hottest new series, Faking It.
We're joined now by Rita Volk and Katie Stevens.
Yeah! Are you guys having fun - Both: Yes.
- At our little party here? - I love your party.
- Yes.
So, Katie, if your character, Karma, lived in Beacon Hills, and she can have any supernatural power, what would she choose? Anything.
- Anything? - Anything.
Well, Karma really cares about what everyone else thinks.
She has this thing about being popular.
I'd say maybe she would be able to read minds and hypnotize people into getting what she wants.
Um, that's two supernatural powers.
If I could have any supernatural power, I could just combine them.
I okay, all right.
I'll give it to you.
You're cute enough.
I'll give it to you.
All right.
Both Teen Wolf and Faking It know a thing or two about being sexy, which leads us to our newest segment.
Is everyone familiar with Man-Crush Monday? No! [Cheers and applause.]
[Laughs.]
We're putting our own spin on that hashtag by naming our Wolf Crush of the Week.
Hell, yeah.
And our first recipient is the one, - the only Scott McCall! - Yeah! Not only does he look hot in that undershirt, but he was willing to put himself in harm's way to protect Lydia, and that is truly sexy.
- Oh.
- [Laughs.]
- Work it.
- That is not sexy.
- Sorry.
- [Laughs.]
Congratulations, Tyler.
- Thank you.
- We love you.
- That was so unexpected.
- All right.
Rita and, uh, Katie, you guys are gonna stick around and watch Echosmith, aren't you? - Both: Yes.
- Hell, yeah.
- Awesome.
- Hell, yeah.
All right, you guys at home want to stick around too 'cause we've got that performance, plus a look at what's coming up in season four presented by AT&T.
Don't go away.
Music please, Cole.
Music please, Cole! - [Dance music.]
- [Cheers and applause.]
[Dance music.]
[Cheers and applause.]
Jill and Cole here, and what an A-list guest list we've had tonight celebrating the season premiere of Teen Wolf Whoo! With Tyler Posey, Dylan O'Brien.
Holland Roden, and Jeff Davis.
And also, Echosmith will be performing in just a minute.
- Yeah! - But first, we're about to look at what's going down this season.
- Mm.
- Jeff, is there anything you can tell us about season four? Please, please, please, please, please, please.
There's a lot of new action, and we have berserkers, - which are very cool.
- Oh, my God.
And, uh, some big, exciting monsters, especially since they're controlled by you.
So [Laughs wickedly.]
Whoa, what? - That's already given away? - That's not a spoiler? That is a big spoiler, yes.
- Take that one back.
- I'll definitely take it.
All right, we'll let's take a look.
This season on Teen Wolf Hello, Sean.
I just killed your family.
Do you want to die like them? Guys, these are professional killers.
One of them's got a thermal cut wire that cuts heads off.
[Sizzling.]
Werewolves, banshees whatever the hell else is out there.
- [Roars.]
- [Snarls.]
- Berserkers.
- [Growls.]
Who the hell is that? [All cheering.]
I hate this kid.
Maybe we need to think like Stiles.
Like a hyperactive spaz? Get him! [All screaming.]
Why do I feel like this is gonna end badly? 'Cause it usually does.
It's a dead pool, a hit list of supernatural creatures.
And we're all on it.
[Suspenseful music.]
[Growling.]
What I want is what I've always wanted power.
[Cheers and applause.]
Oh, yeah.
You guys are in for a treat.
However, we're almost out of time, but before we go, our Wolf Watch correspondent, Tyler Posey, is hanging out with Echosmith, who are getting ready to perform.
What's happening over there, Tyler? Guys, Echosmith, thank you so much for coming to our party.
- Are you guys having fun? - We are.
Your song, Cool Kids, has a, uh, like, a really positive message.
Why is it such an important song for your fans? Yeah, well, Cool Kids is really just an outside perspective on a boy and a girl who just want to fit in.
And I know at some point, we have all felt that way, and I know that almost every single person in Teen Wolf has felt that way.
And in reality, what really makes you cool is being yourself and accepting who you are and who you aren't and not comparing yourselves.
- Yeah.
- [Laughs.]
Thank you.
Not comparing yourselves to anybody else.
You know, I find myself doing that every day still.
- Mm.
- And it's a battle every day.
But in the end, overall, accepting yourself is the deal, and that's what makes life - a lot better.
- That's awesome.
I need to learn to do that around you guys 'cause I want to I just want to be one of you guys, one of the cool kids.
Okay, now the moment that I have and you've all been waiting for.
Performing their song, Cool Kids, give it up for Echosmith! [Cheers and applause.]
[Cool kids playing.]
she sees them walking in a straight line that's not really her style and they all got the same heartbeat but hers is falling behind nothing in this world could ever bring them down yeah, they're invincible and she's just in the background and she says I wish that I could be like the cool kids 'cause all the cool kids they seem to fit in I wish that I could be like the cool kids like the cool kids he sees them talking with a big smile but they haven't got a clue yeah, they're living the good life can't see what he is going through they're driving fast cars but they don't know where they're going in the fast lane living life without knowing and he says I wish that I could be like the cool kids 'cause all the cool kids, they seem to fit in I wish that I could be like the cool kids like the cool kids I wish that I could be like the cool kids 'cause all the cool kids, they seem to get it I wish that I could be like the cool kids like the cool kids oh, oh oh, oh oh, oh oh, oh and they said I wish that I could be like the cool kids 'cause all the cool kids, they seem to fit in I wish that I could be like the cool kids like the cool kids I wish that I could be like the cool kids 'cause all the cool kids, they seem to fit in I wish that I could be like the cool kids like the cool kids I wish that I could be like the cool kids 'cause all the cool kids, they seem to get it I wish that I could be like the cool kids like the cool kids whoa, oh, oh, oh whoa, oh, oh, oh whoa, oh, oh, oh like the cool kids [cheers and applause.]
Oh, yeah, that was amazing.
Thanks to all of our guests, uh, and to keep the party going, head over to the after after show on MTV.
com and the MTV app.
I'm Jill Wagner, reminding you to watch your back.
You never know what creatures are lurking out there in the dark.
[Laughter.]

I'm Jill Wagner, reminding you to watch your back.
You never know what creatures are lurking out there in the dark.
[Laughter.]
