So you see what I seeing? What the heck is happening? - How are you guys? - Great, how are you? Great morning.
We got a lot of stuff to go over today.
Let's start with Jael.
All right, guys, well, let's kick off the day.
With a really spooky ghost story.
Hey.
Anybody up there? This one takes place in Alabama.
A man named Mark Absalon is at home at 9:00 p.
M.
He's alone.
He starts hearing noises coming from upstairs, So he grabs his camera, He starts panning around the room.
Take a look at this video.
It's really creepy.
Hey.
Anybody up there? Oh, my gosh! Oh, look it! Wow! Did you see the girl in the closet right there? - Yeah, there were two girls.
- Yes, yes.
And you see one at the bottom of the stairwell And another in the adjacent room.
He did pretty accurately land.
Corner of stairs, doorway, back to center.
- Yeah.
- It was pretty smooth.
The thing about this video that really strikes me.
Is actually towards the end, Where you can see the reflection of the videographer.
You can see how large that camera is compared to his face.
That makes me think that the camera.
Is either a prosumer or professional version.
That tells me that he either has film.
Or video-production experience.
Yeah, if he has editing experience I mean, you notice how neither figure actually moves? They could easily just be photos of the girls.
Just inlaid in post.
This video seems a little bit more Hollywood than haunted.
This is a great, really fun video, But let's move on and see what else we have.
Devin, you have a video for us that has a lot of hits.

On October 15, 2010, A local-news cameraman catches a mysterious light.
Falling from the sky, Breaking into a triangle formation, and hovering.
- Oh, look at that.
- Wow.
- What? - That's amazing! People all over west Texas.
Are calling the newsrooms and police stations.
They're reporting this ufo over the city.
But, you guys, what makes this case so interesting.
Is that this video in El Paso.
Bears an uncanny resemblance.
To another video shot just two days previous.
All the way over in New York City.
Over Times Square, thousands of miles away.
- Check this out.
- Wow.
Oh, wow.
Right? So, check this out, you guys.
This is New York.
You've got three lights in a triangle formation, And in El Paso, three lights in a triangle formation.
They're all illuminated very similarly.
None of them are making a sound.
Thousands of people witnessed it.
- That's a mystery.
- Yeah, it is.
A lot of people are saying, In the El Paso case, what it looks like is a meteor.
Meteors are fast.
These are really just hanging up in the sky.
That's not like how a meteor behaves.
They maintain a tail, and they maintain constant motion, Neither of which we see in the footage.
- Right.
- Exactly.
And to break up symmetrically into three different parts? That's absolutely right.
And then hover? - Yeah.
- That's your classic definition of a ufo.
And, you guys, the other great thing about this case.
Is that we also have a pair of eyewitnesses.
Who say they've never seen anything like this before, And they're willing to share their experience with us.
This is the type of case that we search for.
This case, I definitely think, warrants an investigation.
I agree.
I think it's a really good contender.

That comes from a very ghostly and historic town Jacksonville, Florida.
It's really recent, from December 2010.
Now, a local paranormal group.
Caught what they believe to be a translucent apparition.
That has manifested itself.
On the second-story balcony of the famous Florida theatre.
And the thing is, he didn't see it at the time.
It's when he reviewed the footage.
That he caught this apparition.
That's sitting way up in the balcony.
And the theatre has been known to have doors open and close, Projectors and lights turn off and on.
Guys, video of an apparition? That's not very common that we see that.
No.
Well, guys, I think we have one more clip to view today.
Austin, what do you have? I have a clip that is supposedly the brazilian military.
Actually interrogating extraterrestrial life.
What? It's filmed in 2008.
It's had over a million hits online.
And has caused an uproar in the paranormal community.
- Oh, gosh, look at its eyes.
- What? - Oh, wow! - Oh, my gosh! Bah.
That is eerie.
That is If this is fake, it's serious attention to detail.
- Intense.
- Wow.
Look at the movement of the arms and shoulders.
And the musculature of the neck.
I mean, if this is cg, Somebody took the time to get it right.
Do we know the background of this video at all? I know that it was shot in 2008.
I also had it translated and found out they are interrogating the alien.
But that's all I've been able to uncover so far.
See, that's the one thing that strikes me.
I feel like if we don't have a back story for this video, This could actually just be very good puppetry.
Mixed with cg to give us this compelling video.
I agree.
I think we need some more information See where it comes from, source it, Whoever leaked the story, What happened to the being afterwards? As soon as I have all the background, I will come back with this case.
I just found it, and I needed to show it to you I wanted to know your opinions.

Guys, we've seen a lot of really popular viral videos today.
Do any of these videos grab your attention more than the others? Well, the ghost twins really intrigues me, But I think I'm really sold on the Florida theatre case.
If there's a plausible explanation, A test should be able to reveal that.
I'm thinking the El Paso, Texas, ufo.
I find it really strange.
That there was a similar sighting in New York.
My vote goes to that case.
I'm 100 % with the Florida theatre ghost.
I mean, it meets our criteria.
It's in one of the most haunted cities in America.
I mean, that's the combination for a great case.
Yeah, I agree.
The El Paso ufo is a no-brainer for me, you guys.
We have compelling footage that could be linked.
To another ufo in a completely different state, And I think that it's our job to investigate it.
And get some answers.
It sounds like we're talking about two cases, primarily.
Why don't we stick with El Paso.

I mean, we get to investigate this ghost case.
Inside the historic Florida theatre.
The theatre originally opened on April 8, 1927.
It's had over 4.
3 million visitors.
Many theatergoers actually report.
Seeing and hearing doors close, Lights and equipment turning on and off.
Plus, they say that they hear a lot of noises.
Coming from the second-floor balcony.
And in 2010, a local ghost-hunting film crew.
Documented on video the ghostly figure sitting in the balcony.
Whoa, look at this theatre, guys.
Here we are.
We're going to the theatre.
Well, I can't wait to meet Steve Christian, Find out what he shot that night and what he saw, what he felt.
Let's get inside and find him.

As you walk into this room It's crazy.

So, give us the history of this theatre.
In 1901, we had the great fire.
It destroyed the whole riverfront area, And there were houses here.
In about 1927, they built this theatre.
So you're thinking that those spirits.
Are now inhabiting the area.
They just moved in when they built the building.
Where are some hot spots of paranormal activity? Everywhere.
We caught our first evidence of the night right here.
Wow.
On this staircase? Yeah, we caught an evp right here, Before the investigation even started.
Let me take you to the balcony.
And show you were the video was shot.
This is his seat right here.
- This is it, huh? - Oh, right here.
So the apparition appeared here? Right.
- Oh, yeah, I see it.

Right, I see it, Because you were shooting from down there on the stage.
And it was looking up this way, and that would explain.
Why the chairs in the foreground on the video.
Were kind of lighter color, Because you have yellow chairs here.
And you had other cameras up here, too, right? We had one down here, shooting back this way.
Towards the projection booth.

And we had one on the top of the balcony.
Shooting down towards the stage.
So, three total cameras were fixed on this location Two ir cameras and a handheld on the stage.
That's right.
But neither one of the irs picked up the figure.
Correct.
You were here with a team, right? Yeah, there was five of us in here.
We were all on the stage.
So, besides this balcony, Did you capture activity anywhere else in the theatre? Yeah, we caught some evps up in the projection booth.
And under the stage, there's a prop room.
Where they store lights, And we caught some stuff down there, too.
- You guys had an eventful night.
- Yeah.
I'm excited to see what we come up with.
Now we can use Steve's eyewitness testimony.
To see if we can reproduce the ghostly image he caught on tape.
Wow.
Take a look at the distance.
Of where he said that that person was sitting.
Considering how far it is, it could have just been a person.
Beside the light from the ir cameras, The theatre was pitch-black.
Well, I think that what we really need to do.
Is get the ir cameras exactly where he said they were positioned.
I'll play the phantom ghost.
I have a gray sweater I can just throw under this.
It'll look more "phantom-esque.
" What we hope to accomplish is that.
If it's something as simple as somebody sitting in the seat, Then we can just eliminate that by re-creating the video.
With just Austin sitting there.
And if that's what it is, case solved.

If it's something as simple as somebody sitting in the seat, Then we can just eliminate that by re-creating the video.

But look at how distinct Austin is.

Just a real slow, subtle hand motion.

Looks creepy.
We definitely got the form of the figure.
The hoodie seemed to sort of obscure his shape, But when he waves, it's, like, a dead giveaway.
That just a person sitting there waving.
Chi-lan: Right.
It looks close, but it's still too defined.
I think the next thing we have to do.
Is really see if this could possibly have been a hoax.
I mean, maybe it was a hoax played on Steve.
I don't know.
I think that's what we need to test out.
We didn't get the results we wanted.
It didn't give us a ghostly image So we're moving on to another test.
That should definitely give us more control.
I do have an ideaprop room, full of materials, right? What about just cutting out plexiglas.
And making it look kind of like a mannequin or a ghost, Putting it on top of a light box and right on top of the seat? What we're gonna need to do is make that light box dimmable.
And take it down to the lowest setting we can.
We're now gonna put the light at the seat.
We're gonna cut our apparition out of plexiglas, And this will actually give us.
A very, very light apparition in the seat.
And, hopefully, that will mimic Steve's video better.
All we need now is the articulating arm.
I already have it cut out.
We'll hook it up when we get to the seat.

However, it does look like a semitransparent figure.

The fly in the ointment really is the light, Because the light box, Although it was a great idea and it gave us some control, It spilled out onto the side wall.
Everyone believes this place is haunted.
There must be a reason why everyone believes it.
I say we go into a night investigation.
And we see if we can gather our own evidence.
I'm not gonna lie, when I was sitting up there, lights off, By myself in the hallway, I was sold.
I was like, "we're investigating this place.

There was a huge ball of energy in that spot.
That is incredible.
There's no way it's a residual heat signature.
It just appeared, literally, right in front of my eyes.

That's the door, the cold air, And then right next to it where the seat is, That's where the heat signature is.
I have chills going down my spine right now.

Tell me about Florida.
What happened? So, we went down to the Florida theatre in Jacksonville.
To investigate the video of a phantom figure.
Sitting in the theatre's balcony.
So we had Austin sitting in the balcony, - We shot it in ir, and these are our results.
- Okay.
I can almost see a faint figure up there.
That's pretty close.
We kind of were surprised how similar it was, But Austin was actually a little bit more defined.
Than we're seeing in the original video.
So we figured this obviously isn't the answer, And we needed more control.
So we actually just cut out a figure of a person.
Out of a sheet of plexiglas.
Right, and then we put it on top of a light box, And these are our results.
I can definitely see the light.
The cutout of the person is difficult to make out.
It's super faint.
The original footage was super faint.
- Yeah.
- So we were trying to keep it in the same context.
It's still not a match.
We weren't able.
To duplicate Steve's original video.
We thought the next thing that we have to do.
Is just launch into a night time investigation, See if we can find any evidence of ghosts in this theatre.
That's when Austin started scanning the theatre.
With a thermal imager.
Guys, I'm sweeping the lower level of the theatre.
I sweep right.
Nothing on the thermal.
I can't see anything.
I sweep left, and a heat signature appears.
Check this clip out.
- Wow.
- Yes.
That heat signature is clear as day.
And none of the other seats in the area.
Are even close to the temperature.
With my naked eye, I can't see anything No person, no animal, nothing.
Well, once we got close to the heat signature, It disappeared Literally vanished.
We scan again.
The heat signature moved to the front of the theatre.
We approached the heat signature for a second time.
Right there.
Bill, you're directly above it.
It disappears again.
So I run up on the stage, And I turn around and look up at the balcony - You know what we saw? - What? What did you see? Plain as day, it manifested again right at the seat.
Same as the original footage.
- No way.
- Oh, my god.
Now, is there any chance that someone.
Was already sitting in that chair before you came to it.
And left a residual heat signature? Not a chance.
It was only us in the middle of our nighttime investigation, And this thermal image would appear, disappear, And then reappear on its own.
Okay, team, so, what do you think? Florida theatre ghost Fact or faked? Honestly, you guys, I can't find a rational explanation.
As how you guys got all those intense heat signatures.
Hands down, the creepiest thing I have ever experienced.
I do not think that video was fake.
Well, you really found zero proof that the video was faked, But you did come back.
With your own original evidence, caught on video, Of a heat signature like we've never seen before.

So, wait till you hear what happened.
In the case in El Paso.
Take a look at this.
Coming up on "fact or faked: Paranormal files" You can see it's this strange ufo hovering in the sky.

So, we're here in El Paso, And it's really cool to be here pretty recently.
After the ufo was filmed October 15th of 2010.
This local tv cameraman, who's driving to work, Sees this strange streak of light falling from the sky.
So he pulls out his camera, he starts filming it.
And, all of a sudden, It inexplicably turns into three lights That just hover and create a triangular formation.
Of course, the news desk here in El Paso Flooded with calls, because everybody in the city.
Saw the same ufo at the exact same time.
But what's really interesting, you guys, Is that just two days previous, There was a similar triangular lighting formation.
Right over Times Square.
And years ago, there were sightings just like these.
That happened in Arizona, in Belgium, And a lot of ufo researchers think that they're related.
You know, it doesn't surprise me.
That there's a lot of ufo sightings around here, Because Roswell is right around the corner, And there's a lot of military bases near.
So, first we need to talk to our witnesses, Mary Bryant and her grandson.
They were there that night and saw, firsthand, this ufo.

To tell us about what you saw that night.
Is there somewhere, like, in the sky.

And tell us when you first saw these objects? We were driving home from dinner.
Just, you know, couple blocks down the street.
You look over northwest, you see this big light.
And then it split.

I've seen falling stars, saw the aurora borealis, But I've never seen anything like this before.
Did you guys hear anything.
While the lights were forming in the sky? Yeah, you just hear the planes from the airport, But, you know, never any sound coming directly from that.
Now, the military tests with flares and things like that.
Do they do any testing here that you've seen that's similar? Well, they've done it at white sands, and we hear things, And we see things, but nothing like what that was.
And how bright were these lights? I want to say a little bit brighter than flares, But not just one flare More than one, And then it distributed.
Well, that's a lot of useful information.

Is test the popular theory that the El Paso ufo.

For people to mistake lit balloons as a ufo, So we're gonna use clear balloons with l.

That way we can see them from the vantage point.
We've got control over each of these balloons.
By using these different rings, Which are anchored in three different points, And we've also rigged it.
So that we can make them separate when we want to.
We've devised a very simple way.
To keep the balloons together with a toilet-paper roll.
The three lines will pass through this, And there will be a line attached to this, And we just tug on it and the tube goes down.
And the balloons separate and we have our triangular ufo.

- Filled balloons.
Won't create long, burning trails, But they may replicate the triangular ufo.
Jael, we do have the same make and model camera.
That the newsman was using.
Is that correct? Yes, that will help us replicate the footage exactly to a "t.
" Now all we have to do is wait for the sun to go down.
So that we can release these balloons.
And see what they look like in the sky when it's dark.

Okay, so, I think we got the balloons ready.
I'm gonna go about 100 feet back there.
So that I can get a good vantage point.

All right, so, we got a little bit of wind here, So I'm just gonna let these out nice and slow.

Now, remember in the video, The light, you know, came down as a solid light first.
So I'm gonna pull a little bit in for a few seconds, And then you get ready to release the cardboard collar then.
You let me know when, I'll pull it down, And then they should separate.

It's not that far-fetched for people to mistake lit balloons as a ufo.
So we're gonna use clear balloons with l.

So that way we can see them from the vantage point.

Are you getting this, Jael? Well, I've got eyes on the balloons, But they're bobbing around everywhere.
They're so dim.
They're really hard to see through the viewfinder.
The way I'm seeing it right here in the original footage, This is got such a smooth motion when they separate.
This is bobbing around, and, not only that, it's just It's so dim compared to the original footage.
And we're not getting the streaks from the tails.
Like we saw in the original El Paso video.
So, I think what we need to do.
Is get something that has a little more control, - Absolutely.
- Something that will bring it kind of to a hover, But definitely something much brighter.
We need something that's gonna give us some streaks.
- Okay? - Let's move on.
So, now we're gonna move on to our next test, Which is going to give us that burning trail.
And a more controlled descent.
Guys, take a look at this.
Wow.
I'm like a big kid right now.
One of the popular theories is that it could have been.
Some type of military illumination flare, Because there's a lot of military bases in the area.
This rocket will deploy our flares, So, at first, they're gonna fall down ignited all together.
Like we saw in the video Solid light.
But soon, this electrical tape will burn away.
Then the flares will separate, Fall a little bit more by themselves.
Before another charge will set off some parachutes.
So that's how we're gonna get our triangle ufo in the sky, - When it splits the three flares.
- Yep.
All right, well, we have to make sure.
That we have a very level platform, ['cause this thing n.]
eds to shoot up.
It's gonna go pretty high.
If the rocket works as planned, these lights will be up there.
For about a minute or a minute and a half, Which should be the same duration.
That our eyewitnesses said that these El Paso lights lasted for.
I'm gonna go grab my camera, And I'm gonna head 2,500 feet in that direction, And I'll walkie you when I'm ready.

The only thing I would say is that they're going down so fast, And we're not getting the same hovering effect.
Our flares were descending at a much faster rate, Which means that we still really have no idea what this ufo is.
So we're gonna pack up, Head to the airport for our next experiment.
So, there's been a whole lot of chatter on the internet.
That the El Paso lights were actually skydivers.
Doing some type of night demonstration.
So we're gonna put that to the test.
And see if it's really true.
You know, the more I hear about it, The more it makes sense, Because skydivers often do night demonstration jumps, Sometimes using flares.
So in talking with our jumpers.
And researching how this might be done, what we've got.
Is they're gonna attach metal brackets to their boots.
And on those, we've got our flares.
So once they're in the air, they're gonna come together, And then they'll ignite these flares.
and then they will separate.
Their chutes will deploy.
So that slowing will give us the hovering effect.
That we can see from this distance.
- I'm so excited about this test.

From our test in the case in El Paso.
Now, remember in this case, there was one singular light.
That comes down and divides into three.
So what we did first was try and test.
To see if we could replicate the formation of these lights.
Right, so the first thing we did.
Was test the theory that these could be.
Just illuminated party balloons drifting in the sky.
So we take three clear party balloons, We fill them with l.

D.
S, And we raise them up into the night sky.
And we had them each tethered to a different point.
So we could get that triangular formation in the sky.
This is what it looks like.
So, as you can see, in our test, The balloons were tethered, But they're still buffeted by the wind.
And they're not nearly bright enough.
And, obviously, we weren't able to replicate.
That blazing tail we saw in the original, But we did get the formation down pretty well.
I mean, if anything else, you guys, This test showed that the balloons look a lot more.
Like the New York footage over Times Square, And I think that if it was during the day.
And maybe a little bit less wind, It would have been a pretty exact match.
So, you guys, for our next experiment, We launched a man-made rocket.
With three flares bottled up inside of it.
Now, this is a little bit more of a complicated experiment, But it's definitely something that a hobbyist could do.
If they were so inspired.
So, the bundle of flares had an altimeter attached to it.
When it reached the proper altitude, The flares burst apart.
This is what it looks like.
Oh, definitely got that trail.
That looks really good.
That's pretty sophisticated, and it worked.
- Yeah, it's really good.
- Yeah.
This experiment definitely got us.
A lot closer than the balloons did, But we weren't able to replicate the hovering effect.
These flares, as they're falling, Fell faster than the lights that we saw in the original video, And the parachutes themselves on the flares.
Were susceptible to wind.
So, for our final test, we needed something.
That would give us a little bit more control, That would also give us those trails that we see.
In the original footage.
So we moved on to stunt skydivers.
Whoa.
Now, these skydivers attached flares.
To the heels of their shoes, And they electronically timed them.
To ignite them in the air, and this is what it looked like.
So, there's three guys falling as a group right now.
- Really? - Then they let go of each other.
Oh, my gosh.
That looks really good.
That's a match, right there.
That is uncanny.
The cameraman of the original video.
Looked like he was trying to pull the focus a bit, So we blurred our image and it looks pretty dead-on.
Good job, guys.
That's really impressive.
You guys, one of the coolest things that happened that night.
Was right after our skydiver test, People started reporting this as an actual ufo event.
Yeah, 911 apparently was flooded with calls.
It was on the evening news in los angeles.
People were going back and forth on the forums, Posting videos online.
It was explained that they were skydivers, And people still didn't believe it.
So, once we realized that the El Paso lights.
Could have been skydivers, I did some research.
Now, I found a skydiving team for the army.
Called the golden knights, And they confirmed that on October 15th, This was them in El Paso, practicing for an air show.
Wow.

And you see one at the bottom of the stairwell And another in the adjacent room.
He did pretty accurately land.
Corner of stairs, doorway, back to center.

- It was pretty smooth.
The thing about this video that really strikes me.
Is actually towards the end, Where you can see the reflection of the videographer.
You can see how large that camera is compared to his face.
That makes me think that the camera.
Is either a prosumer or professional version.
That tells me that he either has film.
Or video-production experience.
Yeah, if he has editing experience I mean, you notice how neither figure actually moves? They could easily just be photos of the girls.
Just inlaid in post.
This video seems a little bit more Hollywood than haunted.
This is a great, really fun video, But let's move on and see what else we have.

On October 15, 2010, A local-news cameraman catches a mysterious light.
Falling from the sky, Breaking into a triangle formation, and hovering.

They're reporting this ufo over the city.
But, you guys, what makes this case so interesting.
Is that this video in El Paso.
Bears an uncanny resemblance.
To another video shot just two days previous.
All the way over in New York City.
Over Times Square, thousands of miles away.

Oh, wow.
Right? So, check this out, you guys.
This is New York.
You've got three lights in a triangle formation, And in El Paso, three lights in a triangle formation.
They're all illuminated very similarly.
None of them are making a sound.
Thousands of people witnessed it.
- That's a mystery.

A lot of people are saying, In the El Paso case, what it looks like is a meteor.
Meteors are fast.
These are really just hanging up in the sky.
That's not like how a meteor behaves.
They maintain a tail, and they maintain constant motion, Neither of which we see in the footage.

And to break up symmetrically into three different parts? That's absolutely right.
And then hover? - Yeah.
- That's your classic definition of a ufo.
And, you guys, the other great thing about this case.
Is that we also have a pair of eyewitnesses.
Who say they've never seen anything like this before, And they're willing to share their experience with us.
This is the type of case that we search for.
This case, I definitely think, warrants an investigation.

It's when he reviewed the footage.
That he caught this apparition.
That's sitting way up in the balcony.
And the theatre has been known to have doors open and close, Projectors and lights turn off and on.
Guys, video of an apparition? That's not very common that we see that.

Actually interrogating extraterrestrial life.
What? It's filmed in 2008.

And has caused an uproar in the paranormal community.

I mean, maybe it was a hoax played on Steve.

And making it look kind of like a mannequin or a ghost, Putting it on top of a light box and right on top of the seat? What we're gonna need to do is make that light box dimmable.
And take it down to the lowest setting we can.

We're gonna cut our apparition out of plexiglas, And this will actually give us.
A very, very light apparition in the seat.
And, hopefully, that will mimic Steve's video better.

To investigate the video of a phantom figure.

So we had Austin sitting in the balcony, - We shot it in ir, and these are our results.

I can almost see a faint figure up there.
That's pretty close.
We kind of were surprised how similar it was, But Austin was actually a little bit more defined.
Than we're seeing in the original video.
So we figured this obviously isn't the answer, And we needed more control.
So we actually just cut out a figure of a person.
Out of a sheet of plexiglas.
Right, and then we put it on top of a light box, And these are our results.
I can definitely see the light.
The cutout of the person is difficult to make out.
It's super faint.
The original footage was super faint.
- Yeah.
- So we were trying to keep it in the same context.
It's still not a match.
We weren't able.
To duplicate Steve's original video.
We thought the next thing that we have to do.
Is just launch into a night time investigation, See if we can find any evidence of ghosts in this theatre.
That's when Austin started scanning the theatre.
With a thermal imager.
Guys, I'm sweeping the lower level of the theatre.
I sweep right.
Nothing on the thermal.
I can't see anything.
I sweep left, and a heat signature appears.
Check this clip out.
- Wow.
- Yes.
That heat signature is clear as day.
And none of the other seats in the area.
Are even close to the temperature.
With my naked eye, I can't see anything No person, no animal, nothing.
Well, once we got close to the heat signature, It disappeared Literally vanished.
We scan again.
The heat signature moved to the front of the theatre.
We approached the heat signature for a second time.
Right there.
Bill, you're directly above it.
It disappears again.
So I run up on the stage, And I turn around and look up at the balcony - You know what we saw? - What? What did you see? Plain as day, it manifested again right at the seat.
Same as the original footage.
- No way.

Now, is there any chance that someone.
Was already sitting in that chair before you came to it.
And left a residual heat signature? Not a chance.
It was only us in the middle of our nighttime investigation, And this thermal image would appear, disappear, And then reappear on its own.
Okay, team, so, what do you think? Florida theatre ghost Fact or faked? Honestly, you guys, I can't find a rational explanation.
As how you guys got all those intense heat signatures.
Hands down, the creepiest thing I have ever experienced.
I do not think that video was fake.

This local tv cameraman, who's driving to work, Sees this strange streak of light falling from the sky.

And, all of a sudden, It inexplicably turns into three lights That just hover and create a triangular formation.
Of course, the news desk here in El Paso Flooded with calls, because everybody in the city.
Saw the same ufo at the exact same time.
But what's really interesting, you guys, Is that just two days previous, There was a similar triangular lighting formation.
Right over Times Square.
And years ago, there were sightings just like these.
That happened in Arizona, in Belgium, And a lot of ufo researchers think that they're related.
You know, it doesn't surprise me.
That there's a lot of ufo sightings around here, Because Roswell is right around the corner, And there's a lot of military bases near.

While the lights were forming in the sky? Yeah, you just hear the planes from the airport, But, you know, never any sound coming directly from that.
Now, the military tests with flares and things like that.
Do they do any testing here that you've seen that's similar? Well, they've done it at white sands, and we hear things, And we see things, but nothing like what that was.
And how bright were these lights? I want to say a little bit brighter than flares, But not just one flare More than one, And then it distributed.
Well, that's a lot of useful information.

And see if the ufo has a natural explanation.
So, the first thing that we're going to do.
Is test the popular theory that the El Paso ufo.

It not that far-fetched.
For people to mistake lit balloons as a ufo, So we're gonna use clear balloons with l.

That way we can see them from the vantage point.
We've got control over each of these balloons.
By using these different rings, Which are anchored in three different points, And we've also rigged it.
So that we can make them separate when we want to.
We've devised a very simple way.
To keep the balloons together with a toilet-paper roll.
The three lines will pass through this, And there will be a line attached to this, And we just tug on it and the tube goes down.
And the balloons separate and we have our triangular ufo.

Won't create long, burning trails, But they may replicate the triangular ufo.
Jael, we do have the same make and model camera.

Is that correct? Yes, that will help us replicate the footage exactly to a "t.

So that we can release these balloons.
And see what they look like in the sky when it's dark.

They're so dim.
They're really hard to see through the viewfinder.
The way I'm seeing it right here in the original footage, This is got such a smooth motion when they separate.
This is bobbing around, and, not only that, it's just It's so dim compared to the original footage.
And we're not getting the streaks from the tails.
Like we saw in the original El Paso video.
So, I think what we need to do.
Is get something that has a little more control, - Absolutely.
- Something that will bring it kind of to a hover, But definitely something much brighter.
We need something that's gonna give us some streaks.
- Okay? - Let's move on.
So, now we're gonna move on to our next test, Which is going to give us that burning trail.
And a more controlled descent.
Guys, take a look at this.
Wow.
I'm like a big kid right now.
One of the popular theories is that it could have been.
Some type of military illumination flare, Because there's a lot of military bases in the area.
This rocket will deploy our flares, So, at first, they're gonna fall down ignited all together.
Like we saw in the video Solid light.
But soon, this electrical tape will burn away.
Then the flares will separate, Fall a little bit more by themselves.
Before another charge will set off some parachutes.
So that's how we're gonna get our triangle ufo in the sky, - When it splits the three flares.

All right, well, we have to make sure.
That we have a very level platform, ['cause this thing n.]
eds to shoot up.
It's gonna go pretty high.
If the rocket works as planned, these lights will be up there.
For about a minute or a minute and a half, Which should be the same duration.
That our eyewitnesses said that these El Paso lights lasted for.
I'm gonna go grab my camera, And I'm gonna head 2,500 feet in that direction, And I'll walkie you when I'm ready.

Wow, that looks phenomenal.

We've got streaks.
We have tails.
We got sparkling.
The only thing I would say is that they're going down so fast, And we're not getting the same hovering effect.
Our flares were descending at a much faster rate, Which means that we still really have no idea what this ufo is.
So we're gonna pack up, Head to the airport for our next experiment.
So, there's been a whole lot of chatter on the internet.
That the El Paso lights were actually skydivers.
Doing some type of night demonstration.
So we're gonna put that to the test.
And see if it's really true.
You know, the more I hear about it, The more it makes sense, Because skydivers often do night demonstration jumps, Sometimes using flares.
So in talking with our jumpers.
And researching how this might be done, what we've got.
Is they're gonna attach metal brackets to their boots.
And on those, we've got our flares.
So once they're in the air, they're gonna come together, And then they'll ignite these flares.
and then they will separate.
Their chutes will deploy.
So that slowing will give us the hovering effect.
That we can see from this distance.
- I'm so excited about this test.

Let's discuss how we're gonna do this.

Now, if you can, as soon as you jump out, stay together, And then you separate.
But once you guys separate, We're gonna need about maybe 20 seconds of free fall, And then you can deploy your chutes.
Once you do that, hopefully we'll create.
This hovering effect that you're seeing here.

Look anything like the mysterious ufo.
Seen hovering over El Paso.

I can see the plane's height.

Wow! - I got light.
- Look at that.
Look at that.
- Look, they're splitting up.
- There is triangle.
Oh, my god, lookit! Now, we got some really interesting results.
From our test in the case in El Paso.
Now, remember in this case, there was one singular light.
That comes down and divides into three.
So what we did first was try and test.
To see if we could replicate the formation of these lights.
Right, so the first thing we did.
Was test the theory that these could be.
Just illuminated party balloons drifting in the sky.
So we take three clear party balloons, We fill them with l.

D.
S, And we raise them up into the night sky.
And we had them each tethered to a different point.
So we could get that triangular formation in the sky.
This is what it looks like.
So, as you can see, in our test, The balloons were tethered, But they're still buffeted by the wind.
And they're not nearly bright enough.
And, obviously, we weren't able to replicate.
That blazing tail we saw in the original, But we did get the formation down pretty well.
I mean, if anything else, you guys, This test showed that the balloons look a lot more.
Like the New York footage over Times Square, And I think that if it was during the day.
And maybe a little bit less wind, It would have been a pretty exact match.
So, you guys, for our next experiment, We launched a man-made rocket.
With three flares bottled up inside of it.
Now, this is a little bit more of a complicated experiment, But it's definitely something that a hobbyist could do.
If they were so inspired.
So, the bundle of flares had an altimeter attached to it.
When it reached the proper altitude, The flares burst apart.
This is what it looks like.
Oh, definitely got that trail.
That looks really good.
That's pretty sophisticated, and it worked.
- Yeah, it's really good.
- Yeah.
This experiment definitely got us.
A lot closer than the balloons did, But we weren't able to replicate the hovering effect.
These flares, as they're falling, Fell faster than the lights that we saw in the original video, And the parachutes themselves on the flares.
Were susceptible to wind.
So, for our final test, we needed something.
That would give us a little bit more control, That would also give us those trails that we see.
In the original footage.
So we moved on to stunt skydivers.
Whoa.
Now, these skydivers attached flares.
To the heels of their shoes, And they electronically timed them.
To ignite them in the air, and this is what it looked like.
So, there's three guys falling as a group right now.
- Really? - Then they let go of each other.
Oh, my gosh.
That looks really good.
That's a match, right there.
That is uncanny.
The cameraman of the original video.
Looked like he was trying to pull the focus a bit, So we blurred our image and it looks pretty dead-on.
Good job, guys.
That's really impressive.
You guys, one of the coolest things that happened that night.
Was right after our skydiver test, People started reporting this as an actual ufo event.
Yeah, 911 apparently was flooded with calls.
It was on the evening news in los angeles.
People were going back and forth on the forums, Posting videos online.
It was explained that they were skydivers, And people still didn't believe it.
So, once we realized that the El Paso lights.
Could have been skydivers, I did some research.
Now, I found a skydiving team for the army.
Called the golden knights, And they confirmed that on October 15th, This was them in El Paso, practicing for an air show.
Wow.
- So you guys really did match it.
- Yeah.
- We did.
- You nailed it.
