you get to go on a camping trip
with your favorite teacher.

You know, there's nothing
like a camping trip
to strengthen your bond with your unicorn.

[Rory whispers]
[Storm neighs]
[laughs] That's just between us, Storm.
Don't go blabbing to the others.
[clears throat] Like I was saying,
the end of your first year is coming,
and y'all are gonna need
strong unicorn bonds
if you wanna pass the final test.
Test? [gasps]
Oh, what kind of test?
Oh no, is it an oral report?
I really don't do well with oral reports.
Is there extra credit I can do to prepare?
-[Glacier neighs]

This isn't your average test, Layla.
It's designed to challenge
your abilities as a unicorn rider.
Like the proving course?
'Cause we nailed that.
After a minor fall off a cliff.
That was an obstacle course.
This will be a simulated mission.
We gotta make sure
our unicorn riders in training
are up to snuff.
So if you don't pass the test,
you're packing your bags.

But the most important part of the test
is that each dorm works together to pass.
If one of you fails, everyone fails.
What?
We're training you for real missions.
And when danger strikes,
unicorn riders work as a team.
[Cinder snorts]
[Ava giggles]
[River neighs]
[Rory yawns]
We're doomed.
Hey, no sweat. We can handle some test.
-I mean, we defeated Ravenzella twice.
-[Wildstar neighs]
But we weren't being graded.
Right. We were only
fighting for our lives.
Sophia's right.
We've got nothing to worry about.
[laughs] Yeah! We're the Sapphire Dorm!

This camping trip isn't about the test.
I've got a big surprise for you
come nightfall.

Well, good thing I brought every book
the library would let me borrow. [groans]
[gentle music playing]
[magical tinkling]
-[Rory] Ah, thank you.

[River neighs]
[creature squeaking]

Wildstar acting a little strange?

She seems distracted,
but I I can't figure out why.

Ravenzella is locked away again,
and her grim magic was destroyed.
Then maybe it's about my dad?
We know he's out there somewhere,
but I have no idea where. [sighs]
Maybe Wildstar
is feeling anxious about it too?

should worry about that.
We're going to find your dad
one way or another.
This camping trip is sure to get Wildstar
out of whatever funk she's in. [chuckles]
[exhales] Yeah, you're right.
I think this'll be good for both of us.

[Cinder neighs]
[magical tinkling]
[Isabel] And as the girl
went to bed in the woods that night,
she heard a strange voice whisper,
"Where's my unicorn horn?"
Oh!
[Isabel] The girl hid in her sleeping bag
hoping the sound would go away.
But then she heard
the light on her lantern click off,
and again, "Where's my unicorn horn?"
Oh no, no, no, no.
She shivered
as the temperature suddenly dropped.
She could even see her breath.
Then she heard it.
The sound of something large
moving in her direction.
She crawled deeper into her sleeping bag
as the creature's bones creaked
as it bent towards her.
[groans] I can't believe this.
Delia and Jacinta and I
had a whole spa night planned,
but instead, we're stuck here
listening to children's stories.
[Isabel] by cinch, by cinch.
Boo!
-[screaming]
-[Isabel laughing]
[Cinder neighs]
Agreed. At least I've got you here
to keep me sane.
Will you look at those beauties?
Oh, I think those stars are Orion's Belt.
Nah, those are Orion's flip-flops.

it hasn't been there.
The Unicorn Constellation
only appears once every few years,

The Year of the Unicorn.
[unicorns neigh]

This is a real special time to be here.
[sighs] Are you gonna tell them
they're just stars, or should I?

That constellation
brings magic to the island.
Magic?
-[magical tinkling]
-[Valentina] A falling star! [squeals]
Yeehaw! Luck is on our side.
Let's go find it.
I got a surprise
that's gonna knock your boots off.
Bet you a stall-cleaning
I can find that star before you can.
[scoffs] Oh, you are on!
Come on, girl. Let's go.
-[Wildstar neighs quietly]
-Wildstar? Is something wrong?
[Wildstar snorts and neighs]
[exhales] I knew you wouldn't wanna miss
all the fun.
[laughter]
[Rory] Over here!
[panting and laughter]
Looks like the real star here is me.
Don't worry,
you can talk about how great I am
while you're both cleaning Storm's stall.
[Storm neighs]
[magical tinkling]
Ooh, a real star.
This goes against everything
I ever learned in science class.
That's how you know it's magic.
Uh, is that supposed to happen?
[unicorns neigh]
Mm, hold on for the surprise.
[magical music playing]
[music fades]
[gasps] Is that a baby unicorn?
[Leaf neighs]
[Ms. Wildwood] That it is.
[all gasp]
[Isabel] A baby?
[Ava] A baby. Ooh!

Foals might be cute,
but they're fresh from the stars
and have unpredictable magic
the first couple of weeks.
[sniffs]

works its way out of their systems.

[Leaf whinnies]

That's a crown star.
Those are the stars
that make up the unicorn's horn. See?

Crown stars have,
uh, different magic in 'em.
[Wildstar sighs]
[Wildstar snorts]
Ms. Primrose would have my hide
if she knew I let you stay up this late.
Time to get back to camp.
Wait, you're telling me we're leaving
a defenseless newborn unicorn
out here on her own?
Come on now. This is Unicorn Island.
The foals are born to live here.
Leaf grew up just the same
and she turned out fine, right?
[Leaf snorts]

Don't worry.
This foal will find a way
to a wild unicorn herd for rearing
just like your unicorns did.
Now let's get to stepping.
[giggles] I can't imagine

-[Storm neighs]
-Aw, even her poop is cute! [laughs]

It's beautiful.

[Wildstar neighs]

[Ava squeals and giggles]

-[foal squeals]
[Wildstar neighs]

[foal squeals]
-But Ms. Wildwood said that we have

and it's dark, and he could get hurt.
[dramatic music continues]

-[Ava yelps]

[distant neighing]
[suspenseful music playing]
-[creatures growl]

[Ava gasps]

[exhales] We should head back before
Ms. Wildwood finds out we left camp.
[jaunty music playing]

Seriously, Wildstar,
that blast was amazing.
Those crystal crocs
didn't know what hit 'em. [giggles]
[sighs]
[Sophia] I wish
you could tell me what's wrong.
I thought you'd be happy.
You saved a baby unicorn.
[sighs] But it's like
you're not even here right now.

[sighs] And I bet you stared
up at these stars too, huh, Dad?
Maybe you would get
what's bugging Wildstar.
I know you said
it was dangerous to look for you,
but Wildstar and I
do plenty of dangerous stuff.
[chuckles]
I'm a good unicorn rider, Dad.
Maybe I'll be as good as you someday.
