I work as a nurse at the Valerga Hospital,
on the outskirts of the city.

In Kirlian, stores close at 6 pm.
Usually, people are back home at 8 pm
and don't go out again.

At night, only creatures,
vandals and old women who like
to play canasta roam the streets.
How it all started
will sound ridiculous to you,
because it was indeed.
It all started with Channel 6's
midnight TV guide.

And the hidden messages in them.
ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION?
When I noticed the first one,
I wondered if anybody else had seen it.
Or if I was just worn out.
Or if I had imagined it.
As I said, I work at the Valerga Hospital.
And contrary to people's beliefs,
it is a quiet place.
You just have to tolerate the screaming,
catch some patient trying
to escape through the hallways
and turn a blind eye
to what's really going on in that place.
It only takes a couple of night shifts to
realize that's not an ordinary hospital.
The pay is way too good.
Above the facility's entrance,
hangs the Valerga family coat of arms.
"Actio virtus iustificans eum."
The power justifies the means.
I've been working at this hospital
for five years.
I've mastered the skills
of catching patients,
tolerating, and turning a blind eye.
I'm the perfect employee.
I was working the following night,
so I programmed my video player
to start recording at around 12 am.
I did that for the rest of the month.

In the beginning,
I wrote all the messages in my notebook.
But eventually
I bought a second video player
that I used to collect all the messages
in one single tape.
Little by little,
I started to think that I knew
who was behind this
sending all these messages.
I've always loathed the radio
and the midnight show
with its folk music and its announcements
directed to the people
living in the countryside.
At least that's how I remember
the radio was like when I was a child
and he would listen to it all night.
From what I understand,
things changed a bit a couple of years ago
when the new radio host arrived.
SECOND CHAPTER
THE KIRLIAN FREQUENCY

thing that happened to you this week.

It hypnotizes people like a snake charmer
and feeds from thousands of victims

I'm obviously not a fan.
Though I have a weakness for that show
starring that journalist with a straw hat.
I like the midnight schedule.
Pure garbage.
Believe me.

I bet they do.

other means to communicate

I can assure you right this moment
that all those messages are sent
by one entity only.

I was terrified by the thought

was a man dressed in black.
THIRD CHAPTER THE CONVERSATION

about the town and the radio.

We were supposed
to leave this town together,
but once I heard him
talking on The Kirlian Frequency,
I knew I'd never see him again.
URGENT FROM: CAIN ELDRITCH
We had a plan B.
We prepared a package
with copies of everything.
This time it was sent to Cain's brother.
I risked my own life
trying to get that package out of Kirlian.
And I think I succeeded.
I wandered for days
before I made it back to the city.
And I thought that if I died out there,
in the woods, it would be okay.
I had accomplished my mission.
One night, I saw the wolf.
She guided me back home.
Why does a radio host
whose show airs late at night
and shouldn't have any audience at all
have so much power
over the people of this town?
Adela Gaumont went
from being just a housewife
to becoming
the Light and Energy Union's leader.
Why? How did this happen?
Because she has a Home Economics column
on The Kirlian Frequency show.
That gang that controls
the South area of the city.
Nobody had heard of them
until a couple of months ago.
Until that summer night
when the sky lit up.
VOTE VALERGA
Before the new radio host
arrived at the radio,
nobody talked about Manuel Ramírez.
His file was hard to find,
mixed up with other police papers.
But now what's hard
is not running into him.
He's always roaming the city
claiming for his lost corpse
and the identity of his murderer.
Ever since this radio host appeared,
he's been in contact
with these creatures, these entities.
He's used them to gain power.
Even rationalists
from the Valerga Hospital
How do you know
what's going on at the hospital?
I know it all comes down to who
has more power when the end comes.

At some point during that conversation,
I realized it wasn't my father
the one talking to me through the TV.
But it didn't matter.

THE NIGHT OF THE COME
After that night,
there were no more messages
or midnight TV guides.
Darkness had become once again
property of The Kirlian Frequency.
Starting this moment,
Kirlian 6 no longer
broadcasts at midnight.
The management claims
it was all a misunderstanding
and offer an apology.
Likewise,
they insist these infamous messages
registered by some
of the members of the audience
were caused by technical difficulties.
They guarantee it will never happen again.
And that the night is ours once again.
Something came up
with one of our patients.
I'm really sorry.
We were chatting with Mr. Bilder.
Is he still there?
There's no Mr. Bilder here.
I considered quitting my job.
Leave the city.
But nobody ever leaves Kirlian.
