So this should
really piss you off.

this is day one of our
iron island museum investigation
here in buffalo, new york,
I believe this place
is called iron island
because it's totally
surrounded by train tracks.
Yeah. So it's kind of like
its own little island.
I'm kind of intrigued
about this museum.
I think just because
this building's had
so many different faces.
Yeah, for sure.
The information that we have --
yeah.
It's, you know, built
in the early 1880s,
then it was a church
until about 1940.
Mm-hmm. And then it was
a funeral home. Yeah.
And now it's a museum.
It's had a few evolutions.
And the current owners,
marge and linda,
have had some really
weird experiences
since they've taken over.
It's a lot of residual stuff.
So you'd hear sounds.
[ giggling ]
there's been a lot of shadows
being seen,
movement of objects
like furniture.
Linda's mom, marge,
is terrified.
She believes that there is
a demonic presence there.
I guess she had a really
harrowing experience
- Mm-hmm.
- Where she saw something.
And they've had
other investigators
come in these last few years
that have also had
negative experiences,
including people thinking
that there's some portals there.

so let's go check out
some portals.

There are a lot of things
that could be causing
the hauntings, from things
that have occurred
in the building
to the fact
that this place was a church,
it was a funeral parlor.
Like, it's had a lot
of significant spiritual faces,
if you will.
So there's something
to be said about that.

well, we started a small
storefront down the street
with the museum back in 1998,
and we just figured
we'd have a neighborhood museum.
And then the funeral director
who owned this funeral home
at the time
liked what we were doing,
and he called me up
out of the blue
and asked if we would
accept the building.
He was going to donate it to us.
And I was like, wow, you know,
no one does that.
- Yes, really.
- So we moved down here
in August of 2000.
And so we've been here
ever since.
And we promote the neighborhood,
the railroad,
the military,
everything that surrounds us.
And hauntings started happening
to different people
that would come in, or different
volunteers that would come in.
It took us almost like
seven years
before we finally said
something to each other. Hmm.
- Jack: Hmm.
- Really?
- Yeah.
- So you guys were all
having these experiences,
but never talked
to each other about it.
Exactly.
Do you think that some
of these spirits are people who,
their bodies were here during --
that being a funeral home?
I do. We have the records
of a lot of people
who were waked out of here.
A lot of them were children.
What is it that you guys
have experienced
or other people have experienced
make you think that
something negative is here?
Linda: The shadow man,
and some dark voices
we picked up
that tell us to get out.
One day I was in here,
and I looked to my right.
There was a very tall figure
of a man all in black.
And his eyes
were like glowing coals.
I couldn't make out
any other features on his face,
but just from his eyes
I could tell he was angry.
I was quite frightened.
We've heard a lot of reports
that there's portals here.
I remember there
was a psychic here,
and they're the ones that said
there were
two portals in this building.
What do you guys think it is?
What do you think is happening?
And why, ultimately?
Well, I was hoping
you guys would tell us why.
[ laughter ]
linda: I do think
if people come in here
with the wrong intentions,
it brings out some negative
and dark that might be in here
just hiding away someplace.
Katrina:
So, like attracts like.
Attracts it. Exactly.
That's my feeling. Okay.
So can we get a tour
of the museum,
start feeling out the space?
Linda: Okay.

when we first started thinking
the building was haunted,
we had a group in here,
they were down from toronto,
and there were two psychic women
with them.
In this room, they kept
telling us that there was
a little boy here
who was six years old.
- Katrina: Yeah.
- And his name is tommy.
So the original funeral director
left an entire box of records
from people who died
from 1958 to 1969.
We ended up finding
a little boy named tommy
that had died at the age of six.
Oh, so you actually know
who tommy is?
We know who tommy is.
This is tommy.
And he was waked in this room
in this communion outfit.
So we started calling
this the kids' room
because they started picking up
different things
with the children in here.
Why would they come here?
Because they were waked here,
do you think, or
I think they come here
because they come here to play.
Mm.
I think this is a place they
feel comfortable and protected.
And, you know,
a lot of people don't like
to talk about children
that have passed away.
But my feeling
is that they they, um,
they were living.
Yeah.
And people need to know
that they were around.
Yeah.
And if there is something
dark here, evil here,
I certainly don't want it
bothering the kids.
So is that kind of your
main mission in all of this?
Yes. Oh, yes, definitely.
But another thing
that happens in here,
there was a group of our
friends who were in this room,
and they were investigating,
and there was a ball
laying on the floor,
and the ball starts
moving by itself.
No one's around it and it moves.
Katrina: Hmm.
And we were able to pick it up
on our surveillance camera.
- Oh, well.
- So it's pretty cool.

I think we should go into
the military room now
and talk about that.
Okay. Okay, great.
♪♪
when we took over the building,
there were 24 cremator
remains left in the basement.
Hmm.
We wrote down the names
and dates of death
and found there were
seven veterans in our basement
and they are all displayed
right here.
They were world war I,
world war ii, vietnam. Jeez.
We have in the past
picked up gunfire in this room.
- Interesting.
- We've heard
marching around the chairs
like it's marches
in a circle around you.
Another thing that has happened
in this room,
we were here one night.
We had a friend come over
and we were sitting around
in these chairs.
And she said to us, "the whole
back of the room just lit up."
and none of us saw it.
It was pitch black in here.
And we were like,
"what do you mean, it lit up?"
she goes,
"it just lit up."
so we went to our
surveillance camera.
At the time she said that,
you see a white blob.

so that was pretty cool.
We do have that also.

- Chapel room?

This is where I was kneeling
when I saw that little girl
in the hallway.
She was right over there
beyond the door.
I could make out her plaid skirt
and her shoes and socks,
but I couldn't make out
her features.
She had her hands
behind her back.
I thought she had a knife
or something behind her back
and was gonna come at me.
I thought she was gonna kill me.
Jack:
Marge, I think, is gifted.
I think she has
some kind of psychic ability,
mediumship, what have you,
because she seems to have had
a great deal of experiences
witnessing
full-body apparitions.
There was a very tall figure
of a man, and his eyes

I saw that little girl
in the hallway.
I thought
she was going to kill me.
Jack:
Ranging from children,
adults, to things that she
perceives to be demonic.
Do you want to go down

- Oh, sure, I can.
- Just be careful.

marge: When we moved in,
there was a room here,
and that's where 24 cans
of cremated remains were.
Katrina: Wow.
Did they use this space
to keep bodies?
Or to embalm?
I'm not really sure,
but they did use
that over there to embalm.
Right here? That sink was what they
used to embalm the bodies, yes.
That's the embalming sink?
Jack: Ew.
What happens down here?
Linda: There's an angry man
down here.
People have heard growling and
different things in this area.
And we also picked up
a picture by someone on a tour,
where the man stuck his head
out of that furnace.
Interesting.
[ beeping ]
five different groups of women
investigators were here,
all at different times.
And for some reason, they go to this wall.
Linda: Marge. Marge.
Hmm. That was weird.
That was just right where
you stood.
Yeah.
[ beeping ]
my pack's back here.
My pack will set that off.

It's really going for it.

But are you sure there's no
wires sticking out somewhere?
I'm not seeing them.
I mean, I'm just seeing --
there's this wire,
but that's an electrical -- [ beeping ]

katrina: It's weird
because the milligals
aren't even spiking.
Just this buzzing --
yeah, it's the rem pod.
And the interesting thing,
to get it to change the colors,
look how close you got to get.
Like
Yeah. You got to
basically be touching it.
Something was breaking
that field.
- Absolutely. That's significant.
- It's a little odd.
Jack: The basement was weird.
The mel meter was, like,
legit picking stuff up
left and right.
[ beeping ] -I don't know
what to make of that.
I mean, it was as if something
was physically touching
the antenna.
So I want to spend
a bit of time in the basement
during the night investigation
for sure.

so patrick is someone
who regularly investigates
this location.
He is a enthusiast
in all things paranormal
and has had a number
of experiences here.
Katrina: Well, so now you're
from buffalo?
I'm from buffalo.
I met linda -- I came to this
museum first time about 2007.
And shortly after that,
sort of my group
became the in-house paranormal
investigation team here.
And I believe that
there's been negative haunts
in this building.
What do you think's
brought them in?
They did rent to group one time,
an overnight investigation.
At one point during the night,
the group put cloaks,
on hooded cloaks,
and they performed
some sort of a ceremony
in a circle with candles.
[ whispering voices ]
the next day, one of the
volunteers were here cleaning up
and they found melted
wax on the carpet. Mm.
I believe something
was opened here.
So you believe there's portals here?
I do.
How many do you think there are?
I was told by a psychic
there is at least one
down in the hallway
by linda's office.
Okay.
Probably one of the most
active areas in the museum.
- Has anybody ever been hurt?
- Yes.
What happened?
A gentleman who was on a tour
came up from the basement
and he actually had three
scratches across his forehead.
That was pretty bad.
I actually have a picture of it
if you guys would like to see it.
Jack: Sure, yeah.
Was he wearing a hat
at the time or anything?
He was not wearing a hat at all.
Wow.
Katrina: Hmm.
When you believe something's
negative and it's targeting
somebody you care about,
I mean, all bets are off.
Right. So we came in here
and we started provoking.
And at one point I said,
"my team and I
will be back here
for an overnight.
That's when we'll throw
your ass out of here."
we got a response back
where it said,
"I'll get you then."
that was an evp?
That was an evp. Yes.
Here it is.
I'm gonna be back here
in four or five days
for a sleepover with my team.
Come see us then, too,
'cause that's the night we'll
throw your ass out of here.
What room were you in
when that happened?
We were in the hallway right where
The hallway.
I believe one of the main
portals or windows are.
Do you know any other
witnesses we can talk to
to kind of help
get our bearings straight?
The volunteers who work here,
I'd love for you guys
to talk to everybody like,
you know, all of them.
Yeah.

Katrina: I think our
meeting with patrick
was really interesting.
This isn't a recent thing,
this negativity.
It's been here for a while.
He just sees it spike
from time to time.
Why the spikes in negativity?
Is it the people?
Is it investigations
that come through here?
I'm kind of at a loss right now
for why that could be.

jack: Day one investigation,
from the evidence that I've seen,
this place
has something going on.
There's still more questions
than answers.
So we're going to meet
with a bunch
of other witnesses tomorrow.
Fingers crossed,

of our investigation.
We learned a lot yesterday,
and I'm excited because
there's so much objective
evidence to come out of here.
And right now, jack and I
are gonna go meet
with a group of volunteers
that spend a lot of time here.

Katrina: And I'm hoping
to figure out
the who, whats, wheres,
whens, and whys,
especially the hot spots,
so it can help our
investigation.

do you believe
the museum is haunted?

Do you think there's anything
dangerous in the museum?
I do maintenance here,
and I don't like
to come in here alone.
I mean, I hear -- I feel danger.
And you can feel a heaviness
in the room
when there's something
dark around.
Absolutely.
We were in the chapel room
Peggy: Right.
And peg actually spotted
that shadow person.
Patrick was standing
in the middle of the room
and he was telling us
about his experience.
I just looked away for a second,
and when I looked back at him,
the shadow man was standing
right behind him.
Hmm. And he went to turn
around and he was gone.
- And nancy saw a little child.
- I was here for a funeral.
A friend of mine's dad
had passed.
And he she wanted me
to stay in the hall.
And that's when I saw
the little girl.
Can you describe her?
She was probably about 7.
Blonde hair with pigtails.
She motioned me
to come with her.
I got the feeling
that she wanted me
to come and play with her.
Oh.
When my mom came out
from the viewing, she asked me,
"who are you talking to?"
yeah.
I said, "the little girl," which
would have been behind her.
When she turned to look,
that girl was gone.
What's really interesting
to me about nancy's story
is it backs up
marge's experience,
and it backs up a lot of things
that people have talked about,
that there are multiple
children spirits here.
Do you believe that there is
a portal in the museum?
Do you think it's more because
there's a concentrated amount
of activity in certain spots?
Yes. That's what you
would define as a portal?
David: My asked a question
down the military room,
"are there any soldiers here?"
and immediately down by the
barber chair closet down there,
there was chatter where we just
heard like a man and woman.
Patrick: And right where
he's talking about
is where the one "reported"
portal is located --
it was identified
by a psychic, right?
- That's right.
- Right. Okay.
You know, "portals" is
kind of a funny word
because it sometimes
means something different
to everybody.
Mostly they describe it
as a place in the building
where there's a concentrated
amount of activity,
regardless of whether or not
it's an actual opening.
It seems like there are spots
in here
that just have
an unusual amount of activity,
even for a haunted building.

jack: When you're sat around
a table with five other people
who have very similar
experiences, you're like,
okay, cool,
there's something here.
Now it's time to just set up
and get stuck into the night
investigation sooner than later.
If the spirit's here,

jack: These kind of locations
are tough
because there's
a lot going on here.
So, we're gonna bring
in cindy kaza.
She's a psychic we often use.
She'll come in, sweep, give her
psychic opinion on what's here,
what she's encountering,
to kind of help navigate us.
I feel like there's probably
a few spirits here.
So, I just want to maybe start
with automatic writing
to see what comes through first,
and then go from there.

Automatic writing is something
that some psychics
and mediums do.
Essentially, what cindy does is
she is getting information
from spirits,
from other entities,
and they are telling her
basically what to write,
but she's not even aware of it.
So, her hand is
just automatically writing.
Okay. So, I keep feeling
like there's a lot of activity
when there's children
running around in here, too,
everywhere I'm sensing.
Especially, there's
a young girl that I see,
blonde little girl.
Oh, she's probably about 7,
blonde hair, pigtails.
But there's a layers, right?
There's layers of time.
Like with this place,
it's not just one spirit.
Was this ever a church
or like a? Yes.
Is there a basement in this place, too?
There is.
So, something opened here,
and it's in the basement.
I feel like
that's an entry point
to where the spirits
are coming into this house.
Definitely.

this room is way darker
than what I anticipated it
to be because --

Here feels like
a totally different ballgame.
It feels dark.

and I really, really believe
that the homeowner here
is more influenced by this
than she wants to acknowledge.
She's hiding some of her
experiences that she's having
because she thinks people
are going to think she's crazy
if she talks about
what's truly happening to her.
She doesn't talk about
having nightmares?
No, not that we know of.
You're gonna
have to ask her that.
She's similar to me,
and she's very psychic.
It feeds off our fear.
So, she has to be careful.
She a bit of a trigger?
Yes.
She's a trigger for it
because she's naturally open.
She's sensitive.
So, it just feeds it.
It was created when
people were doing rituals here.
The group put cloaks on,
hooded cloaks,
and they perform
some sort of a ceremony

uncomfortable is the rituals
that I was seeing and the people
that opened up the dark side.

The way that he comes to me now

So, how many spirits

human spirits are here?
Several.
I couldn't give you a number.
It changes by the day,
I would think,
because there's a portal.
Do you think capturing
evidence here
would depend on
who you bring in,
as far as living people?
It definitely could.
I think if you bring
the owner of the house
into your investigation
of the owner of the space,
you're more likely
to get something.
There are actually two owners,
both female.
Are you picking up on who might
be the more sensitive or?
Whichever of the two
is the younger of the two,
I feel, is more sensitive. Okay.
Pretty much right off the bat,
jack and I have suspected
that marge is way more sensitive
than she realizes,
that after cindy's reading,
she really felt that it was
the younger of the two,
which would be linda.
So, from here, I want to ask her
to come back in
and see if her being here
would change anything
on our investigation.
They looked back
on security footage
when they had a ghost tour here,
and people were lighting candles
and wearing cloaks at one point.
That's not good.
Yeah.
And that's where I would go.

Jack: Cindy very much confirmed
a lot of what we'd been told.
She believes that there's
a portal in the basement
from people conducting some kind
of ceremonial or ritual.

we're going to dive

a ritual well done

in the basement.
And, so, we're gonna test
that theory tonight.

intelligent voices
coming through
on our ghost boxes,
and to me, it all kind of seems
disjointed and a little erratic.
I mean, we had
stuff happen earlier.
It was just, like, a calmer,
more comfortable feeling.
Yeah. I mean,
I wasn't that comfortable.
But if we're thinking about
what they've said to us, right,
and even if, you know,
taking cindy's reading
into consideration --
how many spirits do you think --
like, intelligent
human spirits are here?
Several.
I couldn't give you a number.
It changes by the day,
I would think,
because there's a portal.
And if there really are
a high amount
of intelligent entities here,
then a good kind of makes sense
that everything's
a little erratic
because they would all be
trying to communicate somehow.

for spirits
to communicate with us.
You unscrewed the top so the
contacts are barely touching.
And the thought is
that this allows spirits
to turn the lights on or off
in response

getting intelligent responses,

From our investigation,
we had some really
interesting experiences.
And truth be told,
it was a really active,
vibrant evening.
Our psychic seemed to think
most of the spirits
that come here,
and she believed
there were a lot,
and they are just coming
and going as they please
just because they don't know
where else to go.
She thought that the portal
was in the basement.
It was created when people
were doing rituals here.
Opening the portal,
which is also here.

And that was opened up
by a group of people
that were practicing
negative rituals.
Makes a lot of sense.

When people I love die.
I had a very, very, very close
friend who was murdered.
And in my bedroom, I put
a wing chair next to my bed.
I woke up in the middle
of the night,
and david was sitting
right in that chair.
[ voice breaking ] and he said
to me that he loved me.
And, um I don't --
I don't tell people stuff
because, you know,
people think you're nuts.
I never thought of it
as being a psychic
or having that ability.
So, I will tell you
that when cindy came in,
she very much felt that the
younger of the two homeowners,
which would be you
Whichever of the two
is the younger of the two,
I feel, is more sensitive,
Is having
a lot of experiences,
is way more sensitive
than she wants to admit
and does not tell people
because she is worried
that she thinks everyone
will think she's crazy.
Wow.
Now, why this was important
is because she thinks
this is part of the reason
why this place is so active.
When somebody is sensitive,
they become that lighthouse
in a very dark ocean --
you know, like a moth
to the flame.
They're going to come to you.
I like that description.
Katrina: Yeah.
And that's why we brought you in
to see if you being here
helps trigger activity.
And this is the woman
who won't come
in the building by herself.
I know. She told us.
But it paid off because we --
this is amazing.
This is really cool.
This is easily some
of the coolest footage
I think we've ever captured.

They weren't going off.

and I would suggest for you --
you seem like you're you're okay
with your abilities,
that you've realized this
for a while.
But for you,
I would say when it hurts,
maybe look into exploring that.
Honestly, it might give
that power back to you.
Because when you have
a haunted house,
it feels like
it's not your house.
It's someone else's.
So, put that power back to you,
and I think you'll feel
a lot better.
