The Titan Games (2019) s02e04 Episode Script

West Region Premiere: NFL's Victor Cruz and Stuntwoman Jessie Graff

1
[Alex] Are you ready?
[Dwayne] Last week, two athletes
earned their spots
in the Titan Championship
by winning the Central Region.
[Alex] It's gonna be Matt Chan!
Dani Speegle,
your Central Regional Champion!
[Dwayne] Tonight, we begin the search
for the best in the West.
[cheers]
-[Alex] Oh, my goodness.
-The competition is so crazy.
Four new competitors
from the West,
ready for Titan glory.
-Here we go.
-[Alex] Oh, wait a minute!
[Dwayne] Two brothers.
The younger brother is not giving up.
Let's go, Noah!
[Alex] Oh, no!
[Dwayne] But Titan glory
doesn't come easily,
because the competitors
will have to beat
two new members of my team
of world-class athletes
to take over Mount Olympus.
Super Bowl champion Victor Cruz.
I'm a Super Bowl champion,
and now I'm gonna be
a Titan champion.
[Dwayne] And American Ninja Warrior
superstar, Jessie Graff.
I was born to be a Titan.
Will tonight's competitors
in the West
step up to the challenge?
There's only one way
to find out.
Let The Titan Games begin!
Hi, I'm Eric Palicia. I'm 40 years old.
I'm a lieutenant colonel
in the United States Army Engineer Corps.
My name's Noah Palicia.
I'm 30 years old.
I'm a captain
in the United States Air Force.
We together are the Palicia-militia.
Athletics and competition
is our uniting force.
And best brothers
you could ever imagine.
I'm ten years younger than Eric.
He was in the military
and off to college
before I even realized
what was going on.
But my brother has always been
a role model for me, for sure.
He really motivated me to join
the service academy as well
and be better
in whatever I became.
Noah's been a source of motivation
for me to stay active, stay fit.
Like, as a kid, he was insufferable.
But now Noah's my best friend.
[laughs]
[Noah] I'm currently stationed
in Yokota Air Base,
which is in West Tokyo, with my wife.
Eric, he's stationed in Germany
with his wife and daughter.
My brother and I have spent
so much time apart.
The only interaction we have
is video messaging.
Honestly,
it's really, really tough.
Yeah, compared to everybody
else in this competition
there's no way we're getting
away with this.
I think you should probably
maybe somebody should
-[Eric] Holy crap!
-Oh, my God!
[Eric] This competition
has brought us together again.
To compete at The Titan Games
with my brother
is the greatest
feeling I could ever have.
Well, I have a jersey for you,
there you go.
-All right, thank you.
-And I have a jersey for you.
-It's real, man.
-It becomes real.
But what you don't know
is I'm gonna make you guys
compete against each other.
[all laughing]
-All right, man, you got this?
-Yeah, I got this.
[Eric] We both wanna win
and we're both gonna give it our all,
but let there be no doubt in this thing.
I'll be the Titan champion.
Eric, he's got ten years
of extra muscle built on him.
Yeah, you are sitting
next to the 2019 All-Army
-We're not worthy.
-Soldier Athlete of the Year.
We're not worthy.
That's only the Army.
He hasn't competed
against the Air Force yet.
Oh, my God.
[Noah] I'm the two-time DOD
Alpha Warrior Champion.
Competed in
my first international triathlon in Japan,
and I was the first foreign finisher.
Let's see what you got, old man.
I've spent a lifetime
of trying to beat my brother.
There's no difference
in this competition.
Noah, don't ask for some
if you can't handle none.
Oh, shoot!
I can go all day. Can go all day.
I promise you that
we're gonna be best of friends
at the beginning and at the end,
but during, he is my number one
enemy and he's going down.
[both laughing]
-[Noah] Ready? I love you.
-[Eric] Let's do this.
You get out of here.
[Cari] So it is the battle
of the brothers.
Hello, everyone, I'm Cari Champion
alongside my main guy,
Alex "Goldenboy" Mendez.
What do we have in store for the brothers
who, quite literally, go to battle?
Oh, we have something special
planned today.
And for their first mission,
Noah and Eric,
are gonna be climbing the walls
of Chain Linked.
It's a race across six fences
hanging ten feet in the air.
Both athletes have to share the first four
as they scramble sideways.
But the fifth section is too far to reach,
so they have to crank it closer,
then leap.
The first one to reach the victory chain
grabs the win.
Sibling rivalries are as old as time.
Cain and Abel, Venus and Serena,
Elsa and Anna.
Trust me,
I have three daughters and counting.
I know what I'm talking about.
Now we have Noah and Eric.
Two brothers,
but only one spot on Mount Olympus
to battle my Titan
Super Bowl champion Victor Cruz.
It's Air Force versus Army.
This is gonna be good.
This is Chain Linked.
[Alex] Noah in the blue,
Eric in the red.
And the Palicia militia
are moving quickly.
Wow, fast. These boys are fast.
[Alex] Eric in the red
with the slight lead,
but Noah in the blue, hot on his tail.
Big brother Eric's finishing
up that fourth fence,
and it looks like
he'll be first to the chain pull.
Eric, now he's gonna go
and start to crank those chains
to try and bring this one forward,
but Noah's gonna be right behind him.
[Cari] These brothers are two
of the fittest athletes
in the Army and the Air Force.
Although they're ten years apart,
they have been competing
against one another
their entire lives.
And, now, here they are facing off
against each other in the Titan Arena.
[Alex] And Eric drops his gate first.
Older brother Eric making his way
across the final two fences.
Now Noah's gate is down.
Is it too late?
He's gotta make up some serious time.
Eric is flying through this.
-Go, Eric!
-Come on, Noah!
Noah moving fast, but Eric's right there.
The victory chain is in his sights.
And there you have it.
Eric Palicia is your winner.
One-nothing Army.
[Alex] Noah still has another opportunity
to come back and tie this series up.
We are far from over.
There we go, buddy!
[Alex] Both of these men
serving their country.
[Cari] Arguably, nobody more competitive
than these two athletes we've seen.
[laughs] I love it.
Okay, big bro, I'll give you
the props you deserve.
The older brother
beats the little brother.
Little brother giving him love.
I love it.
I'm not worried about Eric's speed.
He looks fast, but come on.
I won a Super Bowl. Let's be serious.
-Big man.
-Good job, brother.
Great job.
We're actually in the stadium!
[laughing]
Malaika.
So there's a competitor
who I've been wanting to meet
because her biggest inspiration
comes from the littlest of people,
and I want to go say hello.
My name is Natalie Talbert.
I'm 29 years old,
and I'm from SoCal, California.
[all talking indistinctly]
I have two very special young women
in my life.
My daughter Azariah,
she's three-and-a-half,
and then my sister Malaika, she's nine.
-Hey!
-Hey!
Oh, that is a big hug.
I'm gonna get
my hair refreshed tomorrow.
Me, too.
These girls have had
some pretty monumental health scares
that have really shaken
our family up a bit.
I met Malaika when she
was three
when she came to an orphanage
I was working at in Kenya.
I am Malaika. You, Natalie.
My mom and I found out
she had some issues with her heart.
She needed some bigger surgeries
that they weren't able to do in Kenya.
That began the surgeries
that she needed to survive
here in the States.
[Azariah crying]
At eight months, my daughter Azariah
was diagnosed with infant botulism.
It was terrifying.
It was absolutely terrifying.
Azariah?
[babbling]
The fact that they survived
insurmountable health scares,
they've definitely taught me a lot
about the strength of family and love.
I coach at a gym.
And I've always been interested
in sports and athletics.
But Azariah and Malaika have shown me
this, sort of, motto that I live by,
and it's,
"you're stronger than you think you are."
They proved it.
Now it's time for me to prove it.
Hi.
Hi!
-How are you?
-That's Maui.
I know I don't look like Maui.
I sound like Maui, right?
But I don't look like him.
Do you remember the song?
What can I say,
except you're welcome ♪
-Thank you so much.
-Okay, bye, guys.
-Bye-bye, Rock!
-Bye, honey.
I love you, baby.
My name Kelly Valdez. I'm 28 years old,
and I live in Lake Forest, California.
Growing up, I was always a tomboy.
I was definitely always more comfortable
hanging out with my dad in the garage
and working on his cars or playing sports.
As I got older and learned
to feel more comfortable with myself,
I learned that being a tomboy
is a good thing.
When I chose my career,
I always knew that I wanted it to be
something that would benefit others,
especially using
my physical fitness to benefit others.
So I became a firefighter
for the U.S. Forest Service in California.
A wildland firefighter is
typical firefighter,
but we don't work on structures.
We fight the fires that
Smokey the Bear warns you about.
Because only you can prevent
forest fires.
When there's an entire mountain on fire,
your training kicks in,
and then, you know what to do.
A dangerous job, but it's all worth it.
I think The Titan Games
is gonna challenge me,
but I know I'm tough and I feel like
I have what it takes to come out on top.
[Alex] So it's Natalie versus Kelly.
Only one will earn the right
to challenge DJ's Titan,
Ninja Warrior superstar Jessie Graff.
[Dwayne] This challenge focuses
on building momentum,
even in the face of exhaustion.
And I promise you exhaustion is coming.
It's eyeing you like me eyeing
12 stacks of pancakes on cheat day,
and then waking up
in the middle of the night
with sugar sweats.
That's not important.
The point is, you gotta fight it.
And if you're gonna go down,
make sure you go down kicking.
This is Launch Pad.
[Alex] Natalie in the blue,
Kelly in the red.
First to knock down all four
of those 250-pound slabs wins.
You need to use your speed
and momentum
and knock down those slabs.
-Just like that.
-[Cari] Natalie.
[cheering]
-[Alex] Oh, and Kelly, too!
-[Cari] And Kelly!
Go, Kelly!
[Alex] We got ourselves
a neck-and-neck race here, folks.
-Kelly with the second kick-down!
-Whoa!
These women are literally flying
through this challenge.
And, oh! Kelly gets her third slab.
[Cari] Three to one.
I can't believe
that Kelly's been riding that momentum
off of that first kick.
Natalie needs to catch up.
Come on, Natalie!
Big push! Come on!
[Cari] Here we go. Here we go.
[Alex] Almost, but it's not enough!
[Cari] Here comes the firefighter,
Goldenboy.
[Alex] Oh! Kelly Valdez.
The wildland firefighter is your winner.
[Cari] Oh, my goodness!
Wow.
What a race!
[crowd] Kelly, Kelly!
That was incredible.
That was amazing. Great job.
-Oh, that was awesome.
-Great job.
Whoo, Kelly!
All right, you did great.
Okay, you got another shot.
[Alex] We will see
these two go at it again,
and I cannot wait to see
what Natalie Talbert
will bring to the table
against Kelly Valdez, who's up 1-0.
[man] Competitors coming in. Thank you.
I love you.
I love you.
[Alex] Here we go. The brothers are back.
Earlier we saw Army Lieutenant
Colonel Eric
defeat his young brother,
Air Force Captain Noah
on Chain Linked.
But you need two wins to challenge
NFL Pro Bowler Victor Cruz
on Mount Olympus.
So now, these brothers
are about to go toe-to-toe on Kick Out.
This challenge
is like driving massive nails
using both feet like a hammer.
Competitors are on opposite sides,
and start pounding through
two pistons on their right.
Then they take aim dead center
at the gold piston.
First to stick that third piston
locks a win in the arena.
Eric, Noah, this challenge
may push the limits
of your strength and ability,
but you got this.
You're servicemen, and you're brothers.
And remember, whoever wins,
gets one step closer to becoming a Titan
and receiving Mom's undying love.
I'm joking.
She loves me a lot more
than the both of you.
This is Kick Out.
[Alex] Noah in the blue
and Eric in the red.
It's all about the kicking
the pistons.
And already, these guys
are starting off fast.
Noah strikes first.
But now Eric answers back.
They're both on their second piston.
Come on, Noah!
[Cari] Obviously, we know that brothers
competing against each other
all their lives
are gonna be the most competitive.
[Alex] Noah's first to the center piston.
If he can kick and lock that one in,
he'll force a tiebreaker.
Eric finishes his second.
He needs to get over
to that center piston,
and hold Noah off.
Now it's gonna be a war of attrition.
Who's gonna give up here?
Because one has to overpower the other.
[Cari] This the first Kick Out this season
where both competitors
have been at that final piston
at the same time.
I mean, this is exactly what we want.
Brother against brother.
One's from the Army.
The other's from the Air Force.
They're saying,
"What did I get myself into?"
Look at this.
[Alex] Each kick that Noah gives,
Eric gives it right back.
And neither one of them
are giving in.
I mean, this requires tremendous
upper body strength by holding on.
Their hands, their grip strength,
their forearms, their shoulders,
are gonna give out.
[dramatic music plays]
[Alex] Oh, wait a minute!
Oh, my goodness gracious!
Eric falls off the platform.
Huge opportunity for Noah.
He's giving some real hard kicks.
Eric's back up, but has he lost
too much ground?
Come on, Noah!
[Cari] Yeah, well, for Noah, I think,
this is his opportunity.
He's admired his big brother
his entire life.
He's always looked up to him.
He's always wanted to be better.
This is his chance to get a win
and force a tiebreaker.
[Alex] It's getting
real hairy here for Eric.
Noah's so close to ending this.
[Cari] Inches away.
Get it!
[Alex] Oh, we're right there, Cari.
We're right there.
Get it!
[Alex] One more good kick, and this is it.
And he's got it!
And it could only
end this way
for the two leaders
of the Palicia militia!
We're going to a tiebreaker.
[Cari] That was beautiful.
You're a beast.
[Victor] Man, I don't care
who I go up against.
I know Eric's fast. I know Noah's agile.
But, I'm ready for either one of them.
Way to tie it up, brother.
Way to tie it up.
Gotta do it.
Gotta do what you gotta do.
-Sir!
-Great job.
-That was something.
-Great job.
You guys did great.
-No retreat!
-No retreat.
-No surrender!
-None.
Those two men proudly serve our country.
It's an honor. It truly is.
I can still not, like, comprehend the fact
that I won the first challenge
over Natalie
'cause she's an amazing athlete.
Kelly's really strong.
She proved that in the first event.
I have to win this one to stay in it.
I came here to show my daughter Azariah
and my sister Malaika
that you are stronger than you think,
and you can do way more than
you could possibly imagine.
Kelly, you're one win away
from Mount Olympus madness.
Natalie, you win this,
and you can call it a comeback.
So grab that steel chain,
and don't stop until your opponent drops.
This is Over the Edge.
[Alex] Natalie in the blue.
Kelly in the red.
And it is, of course, a tug of war
with massive chains.
Pull.
Both women working
on that 75 feet of chain.
But Kelly's to the rope first.
And Natalie's right behind her.
Now they both have to reel
in another 75 feet of rope
to start pulling that block
and knock over their Titan T to win.
This isn't good.
Kelly's gonna start
pulling that box toward ooh!
Kelly's just one foot
away from the victory,
but Natalie
slams on the brakes just in time.
Settle in!
[Alex] Kelly inches for ending this game.
Hold.
Pace it, babe.
[Alex] Oh, wait a minute!
Let's go, Natalie! Here we go.
[Alex] Look at this.
Go, go, go, go!
[Alex] We're right back at it.
Neck and neck between these two women.
And you can see the struggle
and the strain.
[woman] Go, Kelly, go!
Go, Kelly, move!
[Cari] Natalie's trying to
force a tiebreaker,
but Kelly wants to put this away
and move on to Mount Olympus.
-[Alex] Oh, wait.
-[Cari exclaims]
[Alex] I cannot believe it!
[Cari] Oh, my God!
She's taking some tactics from work.
[Alex] Forget over the edge.
It's over the shoulder.
[Alex exclaims]
Kelly might
[Alex] She's trying her best.
Kelly using her legs as leverage.
Kelly Valdez is your winner!
That was hard to recover.
Kelly had a great start.
[Alex] In one fell swoop,
she turned around
and put that rope on her back.
Congratulations.
You're going to Mount Olympus.
Thank you.
Now you get a chance to knock off
an American Ninja Warrior.
All my practice I had pulling fire hose
and everything just paid off.
I'm up against Jessie Graff,
and she's known for being
pretty quick and agile.
It's definitely intimidating,
but I'm also super excited
to see what happens.
She looks amazing.
I still have you.
Thank you for being amazing.
For being an amazing woman,
amazing mom.
[Alex] So it will be the firefighter
versus the ninja on Mount Olympus.
But first, the Palicia brothers
have a score to settle.
This is the end of the road for one of us.
[Alex] They'll face off in a tiebreaker
when we return.
Welcome back to Titan Arena.
The stage is set for
the battle of the Palicias,
but only one can advance
to Mount Olympus.
And waiting for the winner
is DJ's hand-picked Titan, Victor Cruz.
What's up, baby?
-Come on, brother.
-Yes, sir.
Good to have you here.
-Pleasure. Have fun, man, absolutely.
-Yes, thank you.
Absolutely.
Yeah, let's get it.
Can't let him down, right?
[crowd cheering]
All right, surrounding us right now
are the members of the Air Force
and the Army
who are extremely pumped up
to see how all this goes down.
Let me hear that pride.
-[cheering loudly]
-Let me hear that pride.
Yeah, let's go! Let's go!
-Love you!
-[Dwayne] The winner of this tiebreaker
gets bragging rights at every Thanksgiving
till the end of time.
Eric, Noah, you'll always be brothers,
but only one of you will get a chance
to become a Titan.
This is Herculean Pull.
[Alex] Noah in the blue, Eric in the red.
You gotta take those silver poles out,
then it's a tug of war on the golden pole.
First one to knock down
the target behind them
is going to Mount Olympus.
Eric's to the golden pole first,
but Noah's just in time to catch it!
Noah's trying to fight back.
[Dwayne] Oh!
[Cari] These two men have come all the way
from the other side of the world.
Eric served three tours in Afghanistan.
Go, Eric!
And Noah and his flight crew
support humanitarian missions
throughout Asia.
[Alex] Eric, so close.
Right there! Right there!
Eric's close. He's close.
[Alex] Noah is losing ground on the pole.
One more big pull, and that could be it.
Noah holding desperately.
[Cari] He does not want to have
Eric bragging about this
for the rest of his life.
[Alex] The advantage for Eric might be
too much for Noah to come back from.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait!
Pull!
The younger brother is not giving up!
[Alex] Oh, my God!
Noah Palicia,
pulling with all of this might.
[Cari] I cannot believe this.
[Alex] It is not done yet.
Let's go, Noah!
Let's go, Noah!
[Alex] Noah, so close, coming back.
You talk about a sibling rivalry.
This is crazy.
[Alex] Wow! Back and forth!
[Cari] Noah's not giving up easily.
Their forearms are on fire right now.
[Alex] Who wants it more?
Big, big pulls here.
Eric has the lead.
Noah in a fetal position,
trying to hold on.
[Cari] It's happening.
It's happening.
[Alex] He's losing the grip!
Pull, Eric! Pull!
[Alex] One more big pull,
and Eric will win.
Pull, pull!
[Alex] He's so close.
Oh, my goodness!
It's inches! It's inches!
I I am shocked.
[cheering loudly]
-[Alex] He will not give up.
-[Cari] Oh, my goodness.
[Alex] Oh, no!
[Cari] He fell! Eric Palicia fell!
Pull!
[Dwayne] Gotta get back.
You gotta get back.
[Cari] My goodness!
[Noah grunts]
[Alex] I cannot believe this.
Noah has brought it back.
These two brothers never quit.
No quit. No quit.
Only the best of the best do what they do.
Push!
Pull!
Give me two good pulls.
[Cari] My goodness.
[Alex] One more.
-[Cari] Oh, my goodness.
-[Alex] One more pull.
One more pull for Noah Palicia,
and that could be it.
[Noah groans]
[Alex] There it is!
[crowd cheering]
[Cari] Noah did it.
[Alex] Noah Palicia is your winner.
Yes! Yes!
[Cari] I can tell you
about a little brother
who's been looking up to his big brother
all his life, wanting to be just like him,
accomplished in the Titan Arena.
Oh, my God. You're a monster.
How did you do that?
-Come here, dude.
-Oh, my God, dude.
Whoo! Let's go!
Let's go.
That was the best Herculean Pull
we've ever had.
We've ever had, yeah, in the arena.
It was special.
On this show.
-Yeah, it was really special.
-Hands down.
-Man.
-Hands down.
[Alex] Air Force Captain Noah Palicia
versus Super Bowl champ Victor Cruz.
It's gonna be a good one.
I'm feeling super pumped and ready to go.
-Come on, Kelly!
-Go, Kelly!
I'll be going against Jessie Graff.
It's gonna be a tough challenge
'cause she's an amazing athlete,
and I'm assuming
she's gonna move pretty quick,
so I'm hoping to make up time
on the strength stuff
since that's what
I'm a little bit better at.
But definitely think that I can beat
a Titan and become a Titan myself.
[Dwayne] A groundbreaking Ninja Warrior,
taekwondo black belt,
and Hollywood stunt star.
She sets the bar at "incredible,"
and repeatedly exceeds it,
inspiring millions in the process,
Jessie Graff.
[Jessie] I'm Jessie Graff.
I'm a stuntwoman,
a Ninja Warrior,
and I'm here to conquer Mount Olympus.
I've been a stuntwoman for 12 years
on lots of action movies and TV shows.
I've hung from helicopters
and jumped off buildings
and bridges and cliffs.
I've been set on fire
and thrown out windows,
and died a thousand deaths.
But I keep coming back.
I chose Jessie Graff
because she is a competitor
at everything that she does.
She also has inspired
a generation of young girls
to become Ninja Warriors.
I have placed among
the top six men on the course
five or six times.
[man] The first woman ever
to complete Stage 1!
Jessie Graff has done it!
[Jessie] I am fearless and resilient,
and I am gonna push past
every limit I have to win.
I was born to be a Titan.
[Alex] Now that's how
you make an entrance.
Here comes DJ's hand-picked Titan,
Jessie Graff.
The stuntwoman is stepping up tonight
with her eyes on the prize,
winning the West,
then joining Dani Speegle,
who already won
the Central Region Titan Championship.
And that journey starts right now
on Mount Olympus.
It's the ultimate test of a Titan,
a side-by-side race up,
over, and down DJ's mountain.
To conquer the course, you'll need speed,
strength, but most of all, heart.
Who has what it takes tonight?
Remember, the only way to become a Titan
is to beat one.
Jessie, Kelly, time to do what both of you
do best bring it.
This is Mount Olympus.
[Alex] Kelly Valdez in the red,
Jessie Graff in the black.
Let's see what
these two incredible athletes
can do on Mount Olympus.
[Cari] You would definitely
think Jessie Graff
would have that actual upper edge.
She's a real-life stuntwoman.
Why would you not?
[Alex] A little slip as they climb up
to start the Iron Ascent.
Jessie's in the lead, but Kelly Valdez
is only a couple feet behind.
Wow. This is close.
[Alex] Jessie Graff has just been
unbelievable on Ninja Warrior.
Now heading into the Log Lift.
That's a 100 pounds.
Yeah, Jess.
And Jessie's having a little trouble
getting the log up the incline.
There you go. Lift with your legs.
[Alex] Yeah, that vertical weight,
it's very heavy.
That makes it so challenging.
Jessie Graff,
struggling with this log lift
as she has to manage to hook up there.
Finally able to do so.
It's close. This is close.
[Cari] Mount Olympus
is the great equalizer.
[Alex] Exactly. This is the best way
to test your speed,
your endurance, your agility.
This is the point
of Mount Olympus right now
where our athlete's gonna tighten.
This is where they start to get winded.
This is where's important to be poised.
[Alex] But it is gonna be Kelly Valdez
who finishes hers first.
[Cari] I heard Kelly say earlier that she
was looking forward to this challenge.
She wanted to be here at Mount Olympus,
waiting for this opportunity
to show that she's Titan strong.
Let's go, Jess.
[Alex] Jessie Graff, though,
she needs to hurry up here.
So Kelly Valdez is now inside
of the Cage Crawl.
Jessie now over the Sky Bridge.
She did manage to clear it.
Oh, wait a minute.
In a strange turn of events,
you're gonna have Jessie Graff
gonna be inside
of the same cage as Kelly Valdez.
[Cari] We've never
had that happen before.
Did she get confused
and turned around?
[Alex] Honestly, it really doesn't
matter at this point.
Jessie Graff is
gonna be right behind her,
and both of the women, they're so close
to each other.
-Go, Kelly!
-Go, Kelly!
Let's go, Jessie.
Two cages, but they chose the same one.
Close.
[Cari] Did you think we'd be seeing this
right now, in this moment?
[Alex] Not at all.
But it is gonna be Kelly Valdez
who does have the lead.
Onwards now to Drop Zone.
But Jessie Graff is gonna be
right behind her.
But she's starting to slow down
after making up ground in the Cage Crawl.
There you go. Let's go, Jess.
Kelly is pulling the 200-pound
ball and chain across the arena.
But Jessie is a little slow
to get started.
This is an upset in the making.
[Cari] Jessie has that
elite athleticism and agility,
but when it comes down to brute strength,
Kelly seems to have the advantage.
Go, Jessie, go!
[Alex] Kelly is closing in on the Tomb.
She'll need to hammer through that stone
to reach the Relic.
And Kelly is working
on her final obstacle.
[Dwayne] Boom.
[Alex] Jessie Graff hasn't even moved,
and she's on the ground.
I can't believe it.
-Whoa!
-[Cari] She is gassed.
[Alex] But Kelly Valdez
is ripping through the Titan Tomb.
-And inside of that tomb is the Relic.
-[Dwayne] Come on.
[Alex] She's one step away
from becoming a Titan.
Go, Kelly!
[Alex] Jessie's back on her feet,
giving it everything
she's got to finish strong.
And what a crazy turn of events
here in the Titan Arena, folks,
as Kelly Valdez, with Relic in hand,
is your new Titan!
Wow!
-Yes!
-Yeah!
Holy oh, my God.
That was amazing.
-Thank you.
-Congratulations. Let me get this off.
[Cari] Kelly Valdez just beat
a real-life Wonder Woman.
Take a moment
and give a round of applause
for this California wildland firefighter.
She's running over to her family.
She's got her mom, her sisters.
She can barely stand. [laughs]
Wow.
-Good job, girl.
-Amazing.
[Cari] But this isn't the end.
If you lose on Mount Olympus,
you will have a chance
in the regional finals.
This is not the last time we'll see
Jessie Graff, will it be, Goldenboy?
No, it will not.
Although, the competition
will only continue
to get more fierce
from this point forward.
It was every bit as hard
as I was expecting.
I have one more shot
to get my title back.
It's such an honor to be picked
by Dwayne as a Titan,
and now I have to really earn
my way back into that position.
Feels exhausted.
Lungs are burning, legs are tired,
but I am a Titan.
I love you.
Victor Cruz, NFL Super Bowl champion,
versus Noah Palicia.
Competing against my brother Eric,
the fact that I was able to beat him,
gives me a lot of confidence
because if I can beat him,
I can beat anybody.
I'm going against a world-class athlete,
Victor Cruz, so I just need to execute,
not make any mistakes,
and this competition's mine.
[Dwayne] Know what's even more impressive
than catching a touchdown
in the Super Bowl?
Not even getting drafted
by the NFL
and still having the drive
to become a Pro Bowler
and a World Champion.
Impressive is Victor Cruz.
[Victor] I'm extremely competitive.
I don't know what the word
"take it easy" means.
I'm a guy that likes to go full force.
I chose Victor Cruz
because he has accomplished
incredible things in the world
of professional football.
[Victor] I was an NFL receiver
for the New York Giants.
My second year,
I got 1,536 receiving yards,
over 25 career touchdowns,
and Salsa Dance King.
[Dwayne] Not only is he
a pretty good dancer,
a little bit better than I am,
but my dream was actually
to play for the New York Giants,
so I have lived vicariously
through Victor Cruz's success
and his Super Bowl win.
[Victor] To reach the highest pinnacle
of the game of football,
but to win the game,
it's just a dream come true.
When you're on a football field,
you gotta bring your A-game.
Every time you line up, the opposition
is out there to take your head off,
so you gotta be prepared for that,
both physically and mentally.
I'm excited to bring my competitive nature
to Titan Games.
I absolutely miss being out
on that football field.
Noah, this little thing right here,
I don't know if you can see that.
Get the focus on that. We got that?
I'm a Super Bowl champion,
and now I'm gonna be
a Titan champion.
Bring it on.
[crowd cheering]
[Alex] And NFL superstar Victor Cruz
getting ready for his first Mount Olympus.
The winner will continue on
as the reigning Titan,
and look to face off
against the Titan champion
of the Central Region, Matt Chan,
in the finale at the end of the season.
This mountain will test
even the bravest of athletes.
And believe me, Noah, Victor,
you both will be tested.
This is Mount Olympus.
[Alex] Here we go. Mount Olympus.
Noah in the blue,
Victor Cruz in the black.
And look at these men go.
We're already onto the Box Flip, Cari.
[man] Come on, Noah!
[Cari] Older brother and former opponent,
Eric, rooting his baby brother on.
They were rivals for three challenges,
but now Noah is representing
the entire Palicia militia.
[Alex] Wow. Already through
the Iron Ascent, and over to the Log Lift.
This is gonna be a big challenge for Noah
to see how his upper body can handle this.
It is very heavy.
Let's go, boys.
[Alex] Victor Cruz,
hot on his tail, but again,
this is something he's never
really seen before.
He's slipping a little bit here.
Noah soared up that Log Lift.
Oh, man. You gotta get it over that.
[Alex] Victor Cruz, a little bit
hung up there on the top of the Log Lift
and now needs to make some progress.
And so far, it is so good
for the Air Force Captain.
He is flying through this.
Now onto the Crank Down,
which is located right
at the top of the summit.
Victor now able to complete the Log Lift.
He's got some ground to make up.
The captain is just not slowing down,
Cari.
Noah is trying to upset
a Super Bowl champion.
[Alex] Now we got Noah
into the Cage Crawl.
[Cari] What a night this has been
for Noah Palicia.
First he beats his big bro,
and now he is running away
from a Super Bowl champion.
Yes!
Let's go, Vic.
[Cari] Victor clearly
feeling a little taken aback.
[Alex] Noah, out of the Cage Crawl here.
Meanwhile, Victor Cruz
still at the Crank Down.
He is running out of steam.
Noah is rocking
this challenge,
and now it's onto the good,
old fashioned Ball and Chain.
Victor Cruz, he's just destroyed up there,
but he's still fighting.
[Cari] Oh, my God. Look, this is crazy.
Noah, though, is taking his time.
He's bringing that ball and chain
closer and closer to the Titan Tomb.
And that is heavy, Cari, 300 pounds.
[Cari] Unbelievable.
[Alex] Victor Cruz still hung up inside
of the Cage Crawl.
Now, Noah, he's gonna be hacking away
at the Titan Tomb.
Victor Cruz now, finally
finishing the Cage Crawl.
And you're seeing what Mount Olympus
can do to even the best athletes
in the world.
This is unbelievable.
We've already seen Jessie Graff defeated
by firefighter Kelly Valdez.
Will we have another major upset here?
Noah Palicia is just one Relic turn away
from becoming a Titan.
He's got the Relic.
-[Cari] It's time.
-[Alex] Noah's got the Relic.
This is it.
And new Titan, Noah Palicia!
What a night.
-Yeah!
-[Alex] Both Titans dethroned.
Oh, we got a new Titan.
Whoo! Let's go!
[Cari] Noah Palicia, an Air Force captain
competing in the Titan Arena.
His brother, Eric, rooting him on.
Noah came from Japan.
His brother's stationed in Germany.
And this is what it's all about.
[Noah] You're a beast.
[Cari] Victor is a bit gassed.
[Alex] Mount Olympus is a beast.
[Cari] There's the Salsa! He still has it.
[Alex] It is wild to say
that Mount Olympus
has defeated a Super Bowl champion,
but don't worry about Victor Cruz,
because we're gonna see him
in the regional finals,
this time as a competitor.
Let's go!
-Let's go!
-Nice going, baby!
Yes!
What an upset.
Kudos to Noah, man.
He powered through that thing.
I got another shot at this,
so I'm gonna be prepared.
I know what to expect
a little bit more now,
so we live to fight
another day, right?
[Dwayne] Congratulations, Noah,
on becoming a Titan.
We will see you next week
from the Titan Arena.
Whoo! Yeah!
-Whoo!
-Good job, buddy.
Thank you.
I'm a Titan! Whoo!
