We are going to transport you out.

I don't wanna leave him.
- I know.
- He's the only one left.
I know.

- All right.
It's very slick here.
Slow and easy.
Tonia blacked out
and went unconscious.
Tre, want to come over here?
We were no longer in a game.
We were in a life-or-death situation.
I know she has a child my age.
She has people
who are expecting her to come home.
So the only thing on my mind was,
we have to get her

- We got Tre here.
- You going for a ride now.
- Yeah.

We may not have won,
but we got our point across.
- Yeah.
- Okay?
Yeah.
This whole time,
I believed that we would win.
I don't know what happened.
I know that when I woke up,
I was strapped to a backboard,
and I wasn't in the game anymore.
-All right.
-Go ahead.
I needed it.
I needed it for my family.
I needed it for me.
I'm still shocked.
But I have, you know,
a new family member for life.
And, you know, that's a win, 'cause
you rarely get to meet amazing people.
I will forever be grateful for that.
I hope he will go back out
and fight for his place on the game board
and give himself a chance.
I don't want to be the one
that took that away from him.
The three remaining teams
have experienced
the coldest night in Alaska so far.
It got cold again last night.
I was shivering most of the night.
Woke up again, gathered firewood
because we ran out again.
We keep thinking we have enough,
and it is just flying through.
You can still see my breath
even inside the shelter.
Yeah.
The most problematic situation
that my team deals with
right now are the nights.
You know, we don't have sleeping bags, and
last night was somewhere in the low 30s.
We're all up and down all night long,
because we're cold and we're shivering.
I never understood that saying,
like, "Colder than a well digger's ass."
But your ass cheeks
literally get super cold.
Yeah.
Hell, we gotta share a wool blanket
one of these nights, you stingy bastards.
- I'll cuddle with you, buddy.
- I know.
Well, bring it in.
I don't get cold very easy.
I'm used to being in the snow.
But when it boils right down to it,
I'm sleeping on the rocks
on the fire pit when that thing dies,
just to get warmth off of it.
We got to stockpile that firewood.
'Cause it's gonna get colder.
And it's going to stay cold.
That's the thing.
So it's getting colder
and colder and colder every night.
It's been hard, but I know
I am going to survive because of Delta.
They welcomed me with open arms, and
that really made a big difference for me.
A bottle of whiskey
would be freaking just
- Oh my gosh, dude.

Wow.
Watching a teammate
and a close friend go unconscious
Like, that brought a whole new level
of fear that I've never experienced.
Tonia's gone.
And I know in her heart and in her mind,
she would love to come back.
But she cannot come back.
I'm the last of the Mohicans. I'm, uh
I'm the last at Alpha.
I have to find another team.
I'm not really trusting Bravo.
But seeing that I can't get to Charlie

they're my only option
to stay in the game.

Of course, anybody will accept you

Been good to me, little hut.
But first, Tre must shoot
a flare in honor of his teammate, Tonia.
I know I'm used
to being a loner, but Tonia,
I mean, we're gonna be friends for life.
Flare? Flare?
Shut up, dude.
- Freakin' go!
- Flare!
Let's freakin' go, baby!
I think it came from Alpha.
Bravo said we had an alliance,
and I didn't see any friendship
coming from Bravo whatsoever.
After Bayo set off his flare
Oh, there's a flare!
Homeboy's gone, baby!
So long, thief!
It definitely rubbed me the wrong
way to hear Bravo jumping for all joy.
Alpha just shot a flare.
And then, after Zack flared out,
Bravo did absolutely nothing.
It does suck that we made the alliance,
and there's nothing.
I started contemplating.
You know, I know that
I have to go over to Bravo,
but that's just not what I want to do.
I started with Alpha.
We're going to end with Alpha.
I mean, like, we all know.
Greed is a sin, and I'm just
not that guy.

So they gave us two sleeping bags.
I wonder if this was

-"An alliance"
"now you have"
"You have to find the supplies I left."
They hid all the supplies.
Oh, snap.
"Since there wasn't much of an alliance"?
- What does he mean by that?
- I thought there was.
I wonder if they were upset that we didn't
come over here and check on them sooner.
Reading this note
was a little disheartening,
because there was an alliance
between Bravo and Alpha.
We were really bummed about it.
I was super upset myself.
All right, well,
I guess let's split up and find it.
Huh.
What the hell, dude?
If we can find the supplies,
it's like the holy grail.
I mean, we get another hatchet,
another knife.
We get two more tarps, another bow.
How long have they been gone?
Just keep your eyes peeled.
And so we're looking.
We are looking hard for this stuff.
Look for something
that looks a little out of the ordinary.
Here, supplies, supplies, supplies.
But this sucks, because we don't have
the calories to waste doing that.
- Y'all find anything?
- No.
Where would you put it, Tre?
I don't know how much
we need to keep looking.
You got gloves on.
Stick your hands in there.
I don't see anything in there, bro.
See if you just feel a handle.
Hatchet handle?
At some point, we should
just call it and go back to camp.
Nothing in there.
Okay, okay.
If I was hiding
a whole bunch of supplies in the woods,
where would I put it?
I would put it somewhere up high.
Oh, this would have made
a really nice shelter.
Found it!
Let's go!
Yo!
Oh, they hid this thing pretty damn good.
-High five, brother.
-Bro.
- There it is, tucked behind a hole.
- This is so sick.
Everything, it's all nicely folded
and put into a bag.
-The bow and arrows.
-Hopefully the hatchet's in the bottom.
Bri is gonna freak out when she finds out.
After we made our alliance,
not to hear from them was a little weird.
Major, major moment in our game, man.
And then apparently
we were supposed to visit them more.
But I think it worked out
like it should have.
I'm so thankful right now.
Absolutely insane.
Let's see if they got the same supplies
in their care package as we did.
Let's see what's inside.
- Same stuff, two sleeping bags.
- Same stuff.
Let's throw all this stuff on our backs.
We're not sure who is left at Delta
or how they're doing over there,
how long they're trying to stay out here.
- I think it'll be fun.
- We're good here.
But now that we acquired
all of Alpha's items
We have extra sleeping bags,
we have extra tarps for our shelter,
extra utensils, knives, uh, hatchets.
So I believe Bravo's gonna be

at the end of this game.
What could y'all do with 200K, y'all?
Change my life.
- It'd change my whole life.
- Change my life.
We're gonna do whatever's necessary
and do everything that's possible
to make sure that we win.
I still feel weird about not
jumping in the water. I feel so bad.
I definitely chickened out.
Are you feeling a little warmer,
or is it still kind of
- No, I'm still a little bit chilled.
- Wow.
It's kinda weird.
I fell asleep and then I woke up.
You gotta keep moving
for an hour or so after that.
Oh, no.
Brendon, a.k.a. Mountain Man
Dude, that guy,
he's gone from hero to legend, man.
But I've never seen him like this before.
Where like, is hypothermia setting in?
Brendon is experiencing
a hypothermia symptom
known as the afterdrop.
This is when core body temperatures
drop below functioning levels
well after exiting the water.
After being in the water,
I did catch a slight chill.
I felt it going up my spine.
So now I'm trying to get under control.
Yeah, I'm not shivering or nothing,
I'm just not comfortable.
-Yeah.
-Well, I'm not going anywhere.
I am worried about Brendon.
He's been a very important asset
to our team.
To see that water take him out
would be heartbreaking for all of us.
This is the first time
I've got to cuddle up in a blanket.
Look at that, he's smiling.
The shit you gotta go through
to get a blanket around here.
Hello!
Wait, Drake is carrying something.
Hello?
Alpha is no more.
Alpha is no more?
Gone. There was nobody there.
Their supply drop was there.
Wait, oh my God.
Dude, what?
Two teams left.
Knowing we're down to two teams,
and I'm on one of the final teams
is such an amazing feeling.
I'm I don't even know what to say.
We searched the woods,
found all their stuff.
- There's another tarp, baby.
- That's awesome.
I'm in shock, genuinely.
Oh my goodness, y'all.
You got the hatchet?
We have the yellow hatchet.
We're down to two teams.
What does that mean though?
How long are we gonna be here now?
We gotta just wait it out.
See when that opportunity presents itself.
It is a little scary
to know that Delta is a team
that we don't know much about.
I am trying to figure out
the best way to get us a leg up,
because you cannot predict
how things are gonna go.
We gotta get caloried up.
-We need food.
-And sleep.
- And sleep.
- And water.
If you don't want
a sleeping bag, I'll take it.
No, you take it.
- You sure?

I would kill for a shovel right now.
This Alaskan environment
can be quite brutal.
I mean, we're weeks into this,
and it's getting colder out.
There's nice one.
We're continuing to bring some food in,
but not enough to sustain us.
So the struggle is real.
There's a little guy.

I can feel it in my bones.

or just get famished.
Mm.
Whoof.
That is delicious.
This morning, Eric went foraging
and made himself
a little breakfast for the morning.
But just for himself.
That was pretty good.
You know, every other meal we've had,
we've just dumped it all in the same pot,
and then it was a free-for-all.
But we all have to be fair
with what we're eating.
Excuse me.
Eric is really not being a team player.
It's all a group effort.
We're dividing the chores,
because not everybody can be on food duty.
Yesterday, I put myself at risk
when I jumped in the drink,
but I did it for the team.
So don't take food out of my mouth
or my team's mouth to feed yourself
'cause you're hungry,
'cause we're all hungry.
You guys seem awful quiet today.
To me,
I don't give two shits when people eat,
as long as the food
is divvied up proportional.
Would you like me to not eat
and continue the way I feel?
It ain't, "This is for me,
and you bring some in, this is for you."
It's all for the team.
I feel bad now for eating.
I feel bad now. So I'm not gonna eat.
If you were gonna do it anyway,
no use feeling bad.
- Not gonna I'm good.
- Everybody needs to get their fair share.
I'm over it.
Ooh.
Okay. It's something.
It was meant for a squirrel.
It squished it.
Sammy got another mouse

Little mouse here.
He got what?
Sammy got a mouse in his deadfall trap.
Oh, nice.
You want some breakfast, Emily?
I'm gonna let you have that one, Sammy.
Here you go, Bri. Here's some breakfast.
Mmm, yum.
This is real meat.
You know, clams and crabs are good
- but this is red meat, you know?
- Yeah.
It really packs a punch
with protein and caloric intake.
I can give you
-I'm gonna let you go.
-one of the meaty legs.
I don't want to eat it.
If you're taking that trek,
you need the energy.
That's okay. That's why
I ate a lot of clams last night.
All I can think about is
drinking some water, which I have to boil,
and getting the raft to that island.
There is an island
very close to where we are.
I want to go check it out.
What kind of plants
might be there to harvest?
And what kind of animals
might be there that we could hunt?
-Let's put it here to our right, Drew.
-Okay.
If we can get the raft built
and to that island to scout it out
before anybody else does,
we have to do it.
I'm thinking building a raft
is a huge strategic advantage
that Delta hopefully haven't realized yet.
I really want to get out there,
as soon as possible.
The island is nearly
500 meters across the bay,
and Emily will mostly be rowing
against the current.
- Thank you for hopping on this.
- This ain't gonna take no time.
You honestly might be able to just
go sit on it with what's on it right now.
Mm, I would like some more.
We can even pull it back in again.
-Should we tie it to that corner?
-Just tie it to the corner.
I don't want to.
I want it to be underneath the raft.
I feel myself getting a little bit bossy.
I absolutely can have
perfectionistic tendencies,
but in this circumstance,
my well-being depends on it.
Even if we stuff more in here
Those will be hard.
They won't fit in between.
I've got those four bumpers
shoved under there already.
Emily's all of a sudden like, "I'm gonna
get on this raft and go to the island."
And we're like, "Okay."
We make a lot of floating docks at home,
like, on the river.
But I know I'd be best off on the raft.
I spend a lot of time on the water.
I've just got more experience
on the water than Emily does.
I would tie it to the rope itself.
I'm gonna walk away.
I'm gonna let y'all do it.
God, that pisses me off.
She's like, "I'm gonna go there, do this."
And you know what?
You are the go-to for the raft, lady.
There's definitely a current.
- Yeah.
- For sure.
You can see it.
-Is the tide going out?
-It is.
We could wait
until the tide's coming in.
-No.
-I would prefer to go.
The tide is very strong,
so I don't think it should be understated
that it's not just like a quick
little paddle over to the island.
It is a massive feat,
especially when the tide is coming in.
One, two, three, lift!
I'm not really feeling
100% supported from the team.
We gotta get it out in the water.
I'm feeling a little bit dismissed.
But I do believe in this mission.
Sit down.
Emily is casting off
at 1:20 p.m.
That leaves her with under four hours
to make the round-trip journey
-Ready?

before nightfall.
Three, two, one, lift off!
Paddle, paddle.
Such a small paddle.
All right, I'm gonna go watch
from higher ground.
It's so slow!
You think anything's over there?
I don't know.
It'd be super cool if there was.
Already drifted too.
Can you guys tell
if I'm moving at all or not?
Yeah, you're moving for sure!
I want to bring back the bacon,
you know, for the team.
Make them proud.
I'm trying to remain optimistic
and make it happen
for the benefit of the group.
Once that current hits you,
you're gonna have to paddle your butt off!
Paddle, paddle, paddle!
Nine hundred meters north
of the island, near Delta Base Camp,
professional trapper Brendon
has discovered signs
of an unusual kind of prey.
I'm out here
trying to find a porcupine.
I've seen a bit of sign
here and there of him.
Well, right here.
Found, uh, what I believe to be a den.
Maybe a hole he's using, anyway.
And then right through here,
there's a bunch of old scat.
He's probably denning in here,
coming out, going to the bathroom.
I wish there was a fresh pile with it too.
Porcupine don't eat meat.
They eat bark on trees.
I tell myself the energy
is getting a little lower every day,
just lack of nutrition.
But if we got a porcupine,
we'd probably get ten pounds
of good meat with a lot of fat.
It'd be huge. It'd just be, uh
More food in our belly

So, you know, I feel the pressure now
to get this porcupine caught.
Whoa.
Of course, they're up in trees a lot too.
Here's some fresher poop.
Here's another hole.
Oh, no way.
There he is.
Oh, don't go up.
Sorry, my friend.
He's coming down.
Sorry, my friend.
Bravo!
We're eating porcupine tonight!
Tail back far enough

Hopefully it will boost their morale too.

Land ho!
It is up to me.
Get your exploring done!
That way you can come back
when it's still low tide!
Emily has an hour and 40
minutes of daylight to explore the island
and voyage back to camp.
This could all be for nothing.
I don't know, but trying.
When I'm out in nature by myself,
I find a lot of peace and perspective.
I breathe and listen and look.
I'm thinking about the discrepancy

She better get back here.

Oh! Yeah.

It is going to be a bitch getting back.

Okay. Almost there.

The tide is changing.

She's taking off.

I think I'm going nowhere.
She's drifting so far, dude.
Oh, no. She's got to do this.
Dude, man.
Oh my God.
Looks like meat's

Oh my God!

Got him.

Bruh, how?

My boy, man. Mountain Man.
He came to my rescue.

I was going to untie him here.
Don't cut the rope.
I won't cut the rope.
Tensions were high this morning,

I'll take him down by the water for you?
You can, yeah.
We'll go clean him down there.
I'm pretty proud of myself.
I got food for everybody.
A significant good meal.
-You just pluck them like that.
-Yeah.
And you gather them up.
Just keep pulling them.
And you've got to keep them all in line.
That's how you pluck a porcupine.
And I know Eric, this morning,
took food that goes towards everybody.
But that ain't what's going to happen.
You know, that's for everybody.
Eric included.
I've never had porcupine before,
but I'm about to.
- We're fixing to.
- Did you salt them ribs?
- Uh-huh.
- Whoo-wee!
Look. Look at that fat.
How's everybody feeling?
-Feeling great.
-Fantastic.
Slow boil this down
into a hunter's stew.
We've got some legs,
liver, heart in there.
- I want that heart.
- You got it. That's yours.
They were frustrated because
I wanted to eat more this morning.
I understand.
I know that I'm an asshole sometimes.
And, you know,
I definitely need to do better.

- I ain't complaining.
And Brendon makes me
want to just continue and, like,
just be grateful and thankful

Porcupine liver.
Because sometimes
the way that I treat them isn't nice.
I feel like a pack of wolves, man.
I wonder
what Bravo Team's eating.
Each other's tears.

I wish 'em a safe trip home

it also changes
the direction of the currents,
moving anything in its path out of the bay

She went from going there to here.

There's a lack of urgency, but
I don't think time is on our side here.

I'll give her mine too.

We're gonna do whatever's necessary
and do everything that's possible
to make sure that we win.
I still feel weird about not
jumping in the water. I feel so bad.
I definitely chickened out.
Are you feeling a little warmer,
or is it still kind of
- No, I'm still a little bit chilled.
- Wow.
It's kinda weird.
I fell asleep and then I woke up.
You gotta keep moving
for an hour or so after that.
Oh, no.
Brendon, a.k.a. Mountain Man
Dude, that guy,
he's gone from hero to legend, man.
But I've never seen him like this before.
Where like, is hypothermia setting in?
Brendon is experiencing
a hypothermia symptom
known as the afterdrop.
This is when core body temperatures
drop below functioning levels
well after exiting the water.
After being in the water,
I did catch a slight chill.
I felt it going up my spine.
So now I'm trying to get under control.
Yeah, I'm not shivering or nothing,
I'm just not comfortable.
-Yeah.
-Well, I'm not going anywhere.
I am worried about Brendon.
He's been a very important asset
to our team.
To see that water take him out
would be heartbreaking for all of us.
This is the first time
I've got to cuddle up in a blanket.
Look at that, he's smiling.
The shit you gotta go through
to get a blanket around here.
Hello!
Wait, Drake is carrying something.
Hello?
Alpha is no more.
Alpha is no more?
Gone. There was nobody there.
Their supply drop was there.
Wait, oh my God.
Dude, what?
Two teams left.
Knowing we're down to two teams,
and I'm on one of the final teams
is such an amazing feeling.
I'm I don't even know what to say.
We searched the woods,
found all their stuff.
- There's another tarp, baby.
- That's awesome.
I'm in shock, genuinely.
Oh my goodness, y'all.
You got the hatchet?
We have the yellow hatchet.
We're down to two teams.
What does that mean though?
How long are we gonna be here now?
We gotta just wait it out.
See when that opportunity presents itself.
It is a little scary
to know that Delta is a team
that we don't know much about.
I am trying to figure out
the best way to get us a leg up,
because you cannot predict
how things are gonna go.
We gotta get caloried up.
-We need food.
-And sleep.
- And sleep.
- And water.
If you don't want
a sleeping bag, I'll take it.
No, you take it.
- You sure?
- Yeah.
- I'd rather you sleep with it.
- Why?
'Cause you got wet.
You had the shivers, bruh.
I'm good. I'm dry now.
I had that before,
crossing bayous.
That shit It will creep up on you
in the middle of the night.
Yeah, man, the cold.
I'll be good.
I got a blanket. First time out here.
Okay. Nightly nightcap.
Now it's just Bravo and Delta.
Are we gonna be here for a lot longer?
Are they gonna wrap the game up quick?
We don't know.
But we all got sleeping bags,
and we're very happy about it.
- Yeah, guys?
- Yep.
- Yes, sir.
- Whoo!
And we out.
I would kill for a shovel right now.
This Alaskan environment
can be quite brutal.
I mean, we're weeks into this,
and it's getting colder out.
There's nice one.
We're continuing to bring some food in,
but not enough to sustain us.
So the struggle is real.
There's a little guy.
Little tiny guy.
And everybody else wants to eat
once a day, I'm not gonna be that guy.
I'm gonna do a little bit
of extra foraging for myself.
Ah, yeah!
Big dog.
Whoo-wee!
Every day is work out here.
I can feel it in my body.
I can feel it in my bones.
I'm 50 years old,
a lot older than these guys,
and sometimes I get a little burnt out
or just get famished.
Mm.
Whoof.
That is delicious.
This morning, Eric went foraging
and made himself
a little breakfast for the morning.
But just for himself.
That was pretty good.
You know, every other meal we've had,
we've just dumped it all in the same pot,
and then it was a free-for-all.
But we all have to be fair
with what we're eating.
Excuse me.
Eric is really not being a team player.
It's all a group effort.
We're dividing the chores,
because not everybody can be on food duty.
Yesterday, I put myself at risk
when I jumped in the drink,
but I did it for the team.
So don't take food out of my mouth
or my team's mouth to feed yourself
'cause you're hungry,
'cause we're all hungry.
You guys seem awful quiet today.
To me,
I don't give two shits when people eat,
as long as the food
is divvied up proportional.
Would you like me to not eat
and continue the way I feel?
It ain't, "This is for me,
and you bring some in, this is for you."
It's all for the team.
I feel bad now for eating.
I feel bad now. So I'm not gonna eat.
If you were gonna do it anyway,
no use feeling bad.
- Not gonna I'm good.
- Everybody needs to get their fair share.
I'm over it.
Ooh.
Okay. It's something.
It was meant for a squirrel.
It squished it.
Sammy got another mouse
in his deadfall.
Little mouse here.
He got what?
Sammy got a mouse in his deadfall trap.
Oh, nice.
You want some breakfast, Emily?
I'm gonna let you have that one, Sammy.
Here you go, Bri. Here's some breakfast.
Mmm, yum.
This is real meat.
You know, clams and crabs are good
- but this is red meat, you know?
- Yeah.
It really packs a punch
with protein and caloric intake.
I can give you
-I'm gonna let you go.
-one of the meaty legs.
I don't want to eat it.
If you're taking that trek,
you need the energy.
That's okay. That's why
I ate a lot of clams last night.
All I can think about is
drinking some water, which I have to boil,
and getting the raft to that island.
There is an island
very close to where we are.
I want to go check it out.
What kind of plants
might be there to harvest?
And what kind of animals
might be there that we could hunt?
-Let's put it here to our right, Drew.
-Okay.
If we can get the raft built
and to that island to scout it out
before anybody else does,
we have to do it.
I'm thinking building a raft
is a huge strategic advantage
that Delta hopefully haven't realized yet.
I really want to get out there,
as soon as possible.
The island is nearly
500 meters across the bay,
and Emily will mostly be rowing
against the current.
- Thank you for hopping on this.
- This ain't gonna take no time.
You honestly might be able to just
go sit on it with what's on it right now.
Mm, I would like some more.
We can even pull it back in again.
-Should we tie it to that corner?
-Just tie it to the corner.
I don't want to.
I want it to be underneath the raft.
I feel myself getting a little bit bossy.
I absolutely can have
perfectionistic tendencies,
but in this circumstance,
my well-being depends on it.
Even if we stuff more in here
Those will be hard.
They won't fit in between.
I've got those four bumpers
shoved under there already.
Emily's all of a sudden like, "I'm gonna
get on this raft and go to the island."
And we're like, "Okay."
We make a lot of floating docks at home,
like, on the river.
But I know I'd be best off on the raft.
I spend a lot of time on the water.
I've just got more experience
on the water than Emily does.
I would tie it to the rope itself.
I'm gonna walk away.
I'm gonna let y'all do it.
God, that pisses me off.
She's like, "I'm gonna go there, do this."
And you know what?
You are the go-to for the raft, lady.
There's definitely a current.
- Yeah.
- For sure.
You can see it.
-Is the tide going out?
-It is.
We could wait
until the tide's coming in.
-No.
-I would prefer to go.
The tide is very strong,
so I don't think it should be understated
that it's not just like a quick
little paddle over to the island.
It is a massive feat,
especially when the tide is coming in.
One, two, three, lift!
I'm not really feeling
100% supported from the team.
We gotta get it out in the water.
I'm feeling a little bit dismissed.
But I do believe in this mission.
Sit down.
Emily is casting off
at 1:20 p.m.
That leaves her with under four hours
to make the round-trip journey
-Ready?
-Yeah.
before nightfall.
Three, two, one, lift off!
Paddle, paddle.
Such a small paddle.
All right, I'm gonna go watch
from higher ground.
It's so slow!
You think anything's over there?
I don't know.
It'd be super cool if there was.
Already drifted too.
Can you guys tell
if I'm moving at all or not?
Yeah, you're moving for sure!
I want to bring back the bacon,
you know, for the team.
Make them proud.
I'm trying to remain optimistic
and make it happen
for the benefit of the group.
Once that current hits you,
you're gonna have to paddle your butt off!
Paddle, paddle, paddle!
Nine hundred meters north
of the island, near Delta Base Camp,
professional trapper Brendon
has discovered signs
of an unusual kind of prey.
I'm out here
trying to find a porcupine.
I've seen a bit of sign
here and there of him.
Well, right here.
Found, uh, what I believe to be a den.
Maybe a hole he's using, anyway.
And then right through here,
there's a bunch of old scat.
He's probably denning in here,
coming out, going to the bathroom.
I wish there was a fresh pile with it too.
Porcupine don't eat meat.
They eat bark on trees.
I tell myself the energy
is getting a little lower every day,
just lack of nutrition.
But if we got a porcupine,
we'd probably get ten pounds
of good meat with a lot of fat.
It'd be huge. It'd just be, uh
More food in our belly
is gonna be better for the morale.
So, you know, I feel the pressure now
to get this porcupine caught.
Whoa.
Of course, they're up in trees a lot too.
Here's some fresher poop.
Here's another hole.
Oh, no way.
There he is.
Oh, don't go up.
Sorry, my friend.
He's coming down.
Sorry, my friend.
Bravo!
We're eating porcupine tonight!
Tail back far enough
where he ain't gonna jab me in my ass.
I can't wait to take this porcupine
back to the team, you know,
'cause they're hungry.
Hopefully it will boost their morale too.
I could tell I'm drifting.
I can see the current too.
As I'm approaching the island,
I'm telling myself,
"Come on, we got this."
"Just do what it takes."
The water's certainly cold,
but the faster I can get there,
the faster I can get back.
Land ho!
It is up to me.
Get your exploring done!
That way you can come back
when it's still low tide!
Emily has an hour and 40
minutes of daylight to explore the island
and voyage back to camp.
This could all be for nothing.
I don't know, but trying.
When I'm out in nature by myself,
I find a lot of peace and perspective.
I breathe and listen and look.
I'm thinking about the discrepancy
between who I am
versus a lot of these guys on my team.
I don't know if Emily's gonna
make it back before dark.
She better get back here.
She has all three dry bags.
- She took all three of them?
- Mm-hm.
It does tend to rub me
the wrong way, you know,
if they're completely closed
to listening to other people.
Sooie!
Sooie!
I don't know if I've ever been
in a more solitary situation
that depended on my perseverance.
Sometimes you just have to
take a leap of faith and see what works.
Oh my God, a crab apple tree.
Yes.
I did know that
crab apples would be out here. Oh.
Oh! Yeah.
Whoo!
Looking at the climate,
I knew there would be crab apple trees,
but our side of the shore is so shaded.
I'm proud that it was my idea.
That was pretty cool.
Getting the chance
to get a task done by myself,
I've been reminded of,
kind of, who I am at my core.
It tastes like a Granny Smith, kind of,
but because I haven't had any food
or water today, it really hits the spot.
What is that?
Well, well, well.
What do we have here?
Okay. And this is a full set. Holy crap.
Oh my gosh. I'm excited.
Even though I don't know
exactly what these are.
Some kind of trap.
Not exactly sure what kind of creatures
we're going to catch with it,
but maybe somebody on my team does.
So it's definitely coming home with me.
It is going to be a bitch getting back.
I'd really hoped
to get back before sunset.
- Emily's still on the island.
- I know.
She needs to start heading back soon.
She's walking towards the raft.
Goddamn.
I am so tired.
Okay. Almost there.
Whoo! Whoo.
You good?
Good.
You find anything?
I think these are shrimp pots.
Could be wrong, though.
-Sweet.
-Nice.
The tide is changing.
I can see, I can feel the wind in my face.
So I'm a little bit nervous about
the weather changing,
as it does out here, rapidly.
Oh, she's paddling.
She's taking off.
- Oh, good.
- Dude, it's a long way.
I think I'm going nowhere.
She's drifting so far, dude.
Oh, no. She's got to do this.
Dude, man.
Oh my God.
Looks like meat's
back on the table, boys.
Oh my God!
- What do you got?
- You got him. Holy shit!
Got him.
- My boy.
- In Mountain Man style.
-Dude.
-Here, hold on.
Bruh, how?
- He's Mountain Man. Shut up.
- Oh my goodness.
My boy, man. Mountain Man.
He came to my rescue.
This dude went out and shot a porcupine.
Trying to steal my glory?
No, I'm just tying him back up.
I was going to untie him here.
Don't cut the rope.
I won't cut the rope.
Tensions were high this morning,
so this porcupine
is definitely a game changer.
I'll take him down by the water for you?
You can, yeah.
We'll go clean him down there.
I'm pretty proud of myself.
I got food for everybody.
A significant good meal.
-You just pluck them like that.
-Yeah.
And you gather them up.
Just keep pulling them.
And you've got to keep them all in line.
That's how you pluck a porcupine.
And I know Eric, this morning,
took food that goes towards everybody.
But that ain't what's going to happen.
You know, that's for everybody.
Eric included.
I've never had porcupine before,
but I'm about to.
- We're fixing to.
- Did you salt them ribs?
- Uh-huh.
- Whoo-wee!
Look. Look at that fat.
How's everybody feeling?
-Feeling great.
-Fantastic.
Slow boil this down
into a hunter's stew.
We've got some legs,
liver, heart in there.
- I want that heart.
- You got it. That's yours.
They were frustrated because
I wanted to eat more this morning.
I understand.
I know that I'm an asshole sometimes.
And, you know,
I definitely need to do better.
- That's the biggest rat we've ate so far.
- I ain't complaining.
And Brendon makes me
want to just continue and, like,
just be grateful and thankful
for who I've got on my team.
Who's got liver?
Porcupine liver.
Because sometimes
the way that I treat them isn't nice.
I feel like a pack of wolves, man.
I wonder
what Bravo Team's eating.
Each other's tears.
- Not this.
- I wish 'em the best.
I wish 'em a safe trip home
to enjoy their families.
Come on, Emily. You gotta
get back before dark, girlfriend.
Damn it!
That thing came off.
Son of a bitch.
You good, Em?
This sucks.
Our treasure was sinking.
So, trying to reposition.
Great.
Towing back these traps
is slowing me down,
but this has to be done for myself,
for my team.
Damn.
Dude, she's not going
in the right direction at all.
Like, the tide's taking her out.
It's 5:06 p.m.
And with the tide nearing
its highest point,
not only does it create
a further distance to Bravo's shoreline,
it also changes
the direction of the currents,
moving anything in its path out of the bay
and towards the vast Pacific Ocean.
She's drifting so far, dude.
She went from going there to here.
I'm pushing back the panic.
I don't want to tell myself
this is hopeless.
I don't see her paddling.
It's getting darker,
and we're all starting to get worried.
I can't imagine
what's going through Emily's mind.
I don't know if she has the strength
to get back.
We might not get those crab pots.
Damn.
Emily wanting to go to the island
definitely was a buzzkill for me.
If I was on the boat,
I'd play the tide right
and start paddling,
paddling, and paddling.
It's a no-brainer.
But we might have nothing to show for it.
She's got to be so tired.
I've got to warm my toes up.
They're hurting so bad.
Yeah, you're good.
Bri's got the fire going.
Okay.
- Whoa.
- What?
Emily's getting washed out
by the tide so bad.
- What?
- I'm being dead-ass serious.
It's not good.
I think she's so tired now too, like
I know she's just
getting so frustrated.
Damn. I wonder, if she's off
the game board, how we get our stuff back.
We don't?
. Oh, . She has
all the dry bags and the big bag.
Mm-hm.
- Mind watching this? I'm going out there.
- Yeah, I got it.
Goddamn it.
The current has pushed Emily
900 meters east of her camp.
And the current is so strong
that rowing against it
has proven to be a losing battle.
I'm really hoping
she can make it, dude.
It is such a helpless feeling
to see your teammate on a raft
in the middle of the water,
knowing that you can't help them.
- Drew?
- Yeah?
Can you bring down her down jacket?
Guys, I'm not gonna walk
in all that mud!
It is really strange that
some of my teammates didn't really care.
There's a lack of urgency, but
I don't think time is on our side here.
I'll just give her my jacket
whenever she gets here.
I'll give her mine too.
It doesn't matter.
I do know that Emily is very tough
and that she's so capable.
But she's scared and she's cold.
And for anybody to get pulled out
by the tide that far, like
There's a point of no return.
Come on, Em! You got it!
Thank you, guys.
sucks!
So the panic
Damn it!
it starts to feel really real.
My body is just so sore.
I cannot fight this current,
and I'm getting swept out to sea.
- Let's go, Em!
- It's so hopeless.
I know how hypothermia works.
I know how quickly it can set in.
This is a life-threatening situation.
I need to ditch the raft,
I need to, like, fill this with air,
and hold on and swim.
'Cause I'm gonna get stuck.
I am already stuck out here.
I don't know what to do.
You got this, Em!
She's got to get here, dude.
She's got no strength in her.
Oh my God.
I'm terrified.
I am so scared.
I really don't want to get in the water.
Come on, Emily! You got it!
She's got this.
Just needs to crank.
This sucks. This really sucks.
Bro, she is so drained.
She might be flaring.
I really don't want to do this.
I'm already shivering.
I'm so scared. I'm so scared.
I can't quit like this.
