ReBoot: The Guardian Code (2018) s02e05 Episode Script

Nuclear Confusion

Okay.
I'll respond as soon as I get to my office.
Hey! Watch where you're going.
[woman on TV.]
You stopped the vampire squid man! You're my hero! [man on TV.]
Just doin' my part to keep humanity safe.
Pretty good, huh? Yes.
I particularly enjoyed the part at the end where he rescues her.
Very heroic.
You know, a lot of people think Revenge of the Vampire Squid Man is the worst of the Vampire Squid Man movies, but not me.
I think it's the best.
This movie's extra corny dialogue makes all the difference.
Right? Nobody gets this stuff.
But you do, Vera.
You get me.
I get you.
I get that you're gonna be late for fourth period.
What? Oh, no way.
How unusual.
My watch stopped.
I didn't realize how late it was.
We were so into the movie, we must have just lost track of time.
This is a fascinating subject.
Vera? I was just indexing 233 studies about time.
In just seconds.
So amazing.
[beeping.]
Yes.
Simple, but effective.
Just a little bump hack to drain a cell-phone battery and set my plan in motion.
What the It's starting.
I'm in.
The Department of Internet Security is such an easy target.
[phone ringing.]
We've got a level five threat.
The Sorcerer's hacked our systems.
Now my access is unlimited.
[whirring.]
The Department of Internet Security.
Linked to military systems.
There, that's it.
A nuclear missile site.
The world will know my power when I launch a nuclear warhead.
And the damage I'll cause will be frightening.
Devastating.
[theme music playing.]
[ticking.]
Anti-virus software.
No match for my new security force.
Yes.
The launch code will be cracked in no time.
Twelve digits.
A dozen numbers.
And then the first missile will fly.
The Sorcerer has control of our systems? How does that happen? Some greenhorn in the Midwest practically held his hand and walked him in.
- What, a mole? - No.
Just an agent who let his guard down.
The Sorcerer's hack automatically blocks every attempt we've tried to bypass it.
- He's two steps ahead, maybe more.
- What's he after? There's your answer.
Site D.
Site D is a nuclear testing facility.
- Is he gonna try to launch a nuke? - Not on my watch.
How long until you can regain control of the system? Uh I really don't know.
Then work offline.
We need to stop that maniac before he launches a nuclear warhead and starts the next world war.
Okay people, listen up.
We've just escalated to a level ten threat.
[school bell rings.]
One theory suggests that time exists in a fourth dimension and is actually speeding up.
Although it is not affecting how our clocks function, it is still an extremely interesting and Dark code detected.
- We must go back to room zero immediately.
- [tires screech.]
That is a terrible parking job.
I need your help.
Hey, I'm no driving instructor.
This isn't a joke, Austin.
Look, I know you're aware that I work for the DIS.
And I'm pretty sure that you've been using your father's Guardian Code technology to stop the Sorcerer's threats.
This is the biggest one yet.
We believe that the Sorcerer is going to attempt to launch a nuclear device.
Maybe you should call the military.
He's already bypassed the military cyber security.
I get it, all right? You don't trust me.
I wouldn't be coming to you if there was any other option.
Do the right thing, Austin.
The Guardians are the only hope.
Our only hope.
Vera, contact Tamra and Trey.
We've gotta stop the Sorcerer before he starts a nuclear war.
One down, 11 to go.
[Vera.]
At the current rate of randomization the Sorcerer will crack the code in 13 minutes and 42 seconds.
Okay.
Let's go.
Wait.
What if it's a trap? Are you sure we can trust Rowin? He seemed like he was being straight with us.
But Didn't he put a bug in the USB drive he gave you? Yes.
But it does not appear that he has shared what he believes with anyone else at the DIS.
We didn't admit anything to him.
Like he said, we have to do the right thing, which is stopping the Sorcerer.
Let's go.
What's the latest? If you hadn't left you'd know.
I was checking in with other field offices.
Everyone's blocked and unable to log into the system.
Any more details on how this happened? The agent that inadvertently released the dark code believes that he came into direct contact with the Sorcerer.
Can he I.
D.
him? No, he never got a good look at his face.
[Enigma.]
We're not too late.
The Sorcerer only has two of the 12 digits to the launch code.
Okay, make that three.
The launch code generator.
That's where we need to get to.
First we'll have to get past the welcoming committee.
[Vector.]
Whoa! Vera, can you take care of those ships when we get closer? I have just the thing.
A magnetic blast that should immobilize them.
Okay.
Go for it.
That was awesome, Vera.
[Vector.]
Zip board! [Enigma.]
Stealth glider! [Googz.]
Quadra disc! [D-Frag.]
Turbo jets! Guardians.
Of course.
They think they can save humanity.
But they won't get past my new security force.
Whoa! Code disruptor! Energy shurikens! Deflector ring! - Mag frag! - [grunts.]
Okay, how do we get to the launch code generator, Googz? We have to get in through that opening and then work our way to the top.
That's not much of an opening.
[D-Frag.]
Yeah, I'll never fit.
Okay, D-Frag and Enigma, you protect the entrance.
Googz and I will go in.
Okay, guys, it's save the world time.
No pressure.
[D-Frag.]
Cyber shield! Whoa.
All right, we're in.
Okay.
I was able to free up one internal channel that the Sorcerer's hack didn't affect.
Look.
They're in.
Of course, that code.
It seems to show up every time dark code is present.
I'm sure it's connected to the Sorcerer.
Maybe it's some kind of counter-strike program being used against him.
I doubt that.
That's our job.
And right now our objective is to prevent him from starting World War III.
[beep.]
Six of 12.
He's halfway there.
We have to get the updated anti-malware to the site and clear out that dark-code infection before he completes the launch sequence! I'm almost done.
I just need a few more minutes to make sure that we don't compromise the nuclear site at the same time.
But it'll wipe out everything else.
Yeah.
That's the point.
All invasive code will be terminated.
[message alert.]
Just six more digits and I'll have the launch code and the Guardians will be powerless to stop the nuclear destruction I will cause.
[blasting.]
[Enigma.]
Oh, no, you don't.
[D-Frag.]
Oh, yeah.
[grunts.]
[Googz.]
I don't see a way to get through.
[Vector.]
I do.
Follow me! [grunts.]
You can do it, Googz.
I'm glad you think so! Whoa! [Vector.]
Jump off! Now! [exhales.]
[Googz.]
Now how are we gonna get past these gears? [Vector.]
We just have to time it right.
Okay, jump now! Come on, Googz, what're you waiting for? Do it now! All right! - [screams.]
- Now you gotta jump off.
Ready, set, go! - [Googz.]
Whoa! - Gotcha! [Vector.]
See? That wasn't so hard.
Come on.
One more, and we'll be at the launch code generator.
- Duck! - Whoa! We made it.
Okay, buddy.
- Time to do your stuff.
- Okay.
[Googz.]
Quadra disc.
Whoa! I've never seen a system like this for real before.
It's so complex.
The clock is ticking, Googz.
Literally.
That's it.
The clock.
Time.
Googz, where are you going? The launch code is built to re-set every 24 hours.
So if I can speed up time somehow and move the clock forward, maybe it'll re-set the code before the Sorcerer has a chance to crack it.
Four digits remain.
The Sorcerer will have access in two minutes and 14 seconds.
It's taking too long.
Go faster! Limitations.
Constraints of this technology.
But I can speed things up.
Pick up the pace.
Correction.
The Sorcerer's accelerated his sequencer.
You have 58 seconds, Googz.
I'm going as fast as I can.
- The upgrade in anti-malware is ready.
- Purge the system.
Now.
[Enigma.]
Hey, look! DIS to the rescue! [D-Frag.]
They got past the Sorcerer's hack.
[Enigma.]
Looks like.
- Whoa! - [grunts.]
Man, they really don't get that we're on their side.
Or maybe Rowin did set us up.
- [D-Frag.]
Look out! Enigma! - [screams.]
Cyber shell! - [Enigma.]
Nice save.
- Yeah, but it's not gonna last long.
That spray is draining my cyber shell power really fast.
[Vector.]
Only one number left, Googz! Done! What's happening? Googz, what did you do? [Googz.]
The whole structure is connected to the clock.
It makes one full rotation every hour but I hacked it to go faster so the clock will advance and generate tomorrow's launch code.
But at this rate the clock will not re-set before the Sorcerer gets the final digit of the launch code! Leave it to me.
Zip board! Code disruptor! Whoa! Okay, guys, hold on tight.
Over clock! Ugh, I think I'm gonna puke.
The launch code is complete.
It's time.
[powers down.]
What? No! Impossible! [screaming.]
[all sighing, cheering.]
Vector, it worked! [laughs.]
The launch code generator thinks it's the next day.
It re-set itself.
The anti-malware worked.
Actually, it didn't.
For some reason the system clock re-set for the next day and generated a new code.
The Sorcerer is back to square one.
Then the Sorcerer is still in control.
We need to flush the system again until all the dark code is gone.
Whoa.
That was intense.
[Enigma.]
It's about to get more intense.
Whoa! [Vector.]
We better move.
Vera, we need a quick exit.
[all grunt.]
[all grunting.]
[all panting.]
Does anybody else feel like they're still spinning? Congratulations, Guardians.
The mission was a success.
And Parker, I have something special for you.
For me? What was that for? For saving the world.
The hero always gets the kiss.
According to Revenge of the Giant Vampire Squid Man and the 856 other movies I referenced.
So? Was it everything you expected? Yeah.
Pretty much.
[indistinct chatter.]
Hey, look who it is.
Your parking's improved.
I wanted to say thank you, and make sure you're all safe.
Safe? You almost power washed us to code dust.
The anti-malware.
Yeah, well, it had to go after the dark code.
I'm sorry, I tried to warn you.
- Sure you did.
- I did.
Check your phone.
Oh.
I never saw your text.
I was kinda busy.
You guys, you did an amazing thing today.
Really.
I know the rest of the world will never know, but You're heroes in my book.
Thanks.
So what happened in the end? Did the anti-malware work? Yeah, it did.
The dark code's gone from our system and from any other system connected to it.
The Sorcerer is locked out, and we've added additional Firewall protection to make sure that it never happens again.
Oh, and by the way, re-setting the clock, that was, that was ingenious.
Whose idea was that? I should have known.
That's great work, Parker, really.
Thanks.
You know, you could have a bright future at the DIS.
Uh, thanks, but I think I'm just gonna stick with going to high school.
For now.
We'll see you around.
[Austin.]
My place? [Tamra.]
I'm down.
[Parker.]
Yeah? Pizza? I'll never say no to 'za, man.
[screaming.]
The Guardians have stopped me for the last time.
I'll find them, trap them, and I'll get their technology.
[pop music playing.]
