The Glee Project (2011) s02e06 Episode Script

Fearlessness

1 So here's what you missed on The Glee Project to pick a bottom six and have the contenders do duets.
Blake and Nellie impressed Ryan with their stellar performance.
I thought you both did great.
And Ali's duet with Abraham turned into a solo for her when Abraham forgot to sing.
You had a little bit of a word problem.
But he managed to squeak by for another week.
In the end, it was Mario that was sent home.
Now nine contenders remain to compete for a guest-starring role on Glee.
And that's all you need to know so far on The Glee Project And let me just say that I'm really glad that adaptability week is over.
- Hey.
- Here comes Robert.
- Hello.
- Robert's here! Come on, you guys.
- What's up, baby girl? - So how are you guys doing? Good.
I'm here to tell you about the theme for this week.
It's a quality that all great performers have and you'll certainly need on Glee.
The theme for this week is Fearlessness.
Ooh! Yes! Being, like, this very flirtatious girl that comes from a conservative Muslim background, that alone is what truly makes me fearless.
And they can throw anything in my way, and I'm gonna get through it.
Your homework assignment this week is something that can be very scary to perform live.
It's the '90s rap classic now that we found love, by heavy d and the boyz.
- Oh! - Awesome.
That song is definitely challenging.
I mean, I'm Asian.
Like, I don't know if asians are supposed to rap well.
But I don't.
and jump into a style of singing that is foreign to you all.
Tomorrow you'll perform for me and a guest from Glee, who I'm very excited about, and I think you will be too.
So good luck, everybody.
Don't disappoint.
It is fearlessness this week.
And this is a challenging song because it's very fast.
You know, there's no room to think.
So it's like this is definitely a challenge because we all got to be, like, super confident in what we're doing, no matter what.
I'll just take five.
- Are you positive? - Are you sure, Nellie? Yeah.
Honestly, either line I get, I'm gonna feel ridiculous, so I do not know this song, and we're rapping.
And then added to that, there's the fact that I continue to get the feedback that I lack energy.
So I am supposed to be fearless and try and stand out more in the group.
And it's going to be really difficult when I'm going to feel as uncomfortable as I possibly could.
I just had this image of us all in a line, with our butts facing the judges and just going like this during the chorus.
We should definitely start like that, because that'll set the tone for the rest of it.
This song is so outside of everybody's comfort zone that we're gonna have to be fearless in order to make it a good performance.
Are we shaking our butts when we're doing this? Yes.
- Can we start standing, and then bend over when we start singing? I am not overthinking this one.
'Cause if I do, then I will spiral and crash.
That's hilarious and fearless.
- Hi.
- Hey.
Hey.
Today's guest is someone who could be the most fearless actor I know and plays the most fearless character on ee.
Listen up, sloppy babies! Hey! I'll give you something to be afraid of.
Hi! Oh, my God.
- Hello, darling.
- No! No! No! I cannot believe this.
I'm freaking out.
It's Jane lynch! Like, she's here.
Hi.
What's up? As you can see, this is the incredible emmy and golden globe winner Jane lynch, who portrays sue Sylvester on Glee.
- Whoo! - Yay.
So I can't think of a better person than Jane lynch to talk about fearlessness.
You know, I think that, um, I was 49 when I got Glee.
So I had 49 years before that of, people might say, failure.
But it didn't feel like failure to me.
And I became an improviser, which is the creative equivalent of jumping off a cliff every time you get onstage.
So I have learned to relish those fearful opportunities.
'Cause I've found that anything you feel fear about turns out to be the best moments in your life.
I'm surging with caffeine and fear, even as I speak.
So your homework assignment was the '90s rap song now that we found love, by heavy d and the boyz.
Keep in mind, I will be judging you harshly.
No I won't.
I will be judging you from my heart.
I want you to succeed.
So do a great job.
Have fun.
Oh, yeah, baby.
- Now that we found love.
- Now hit that, uh yeah, come on - what are we gonna do.
- Yeah, yeah, yeah - with it.
- Come on, baby now that we found love what are we gonna do.
Ho, oh, oh with it, now one, two, tell me what you got let me slip my quarter inside your slot to hit the jackpot rev me up, rev me up, my little buttercup we can tug the sheets, snuggle up, get stuck believe it or not here comes the brother with the glow struggling, bubbling, overweight lover, hurt prone what's it gonna be? Me or the TV? let me take time to set your mind and your body free why don't you just stretch, stretch for a sec? Shake me, shake me, baby, baby, bake me no need to fake, here I am, come on and take me wind your body, baby, move your body I see you slip-slide come on, now do it, hottie I'm not quite sure what's going on down but I'm feeling hunky-dory, let's go right now now that we found love what are we gonna do with it.
With it whoo - now that we found love.
- Oh-ho what are we gonna do with it I like the way you wiggle you don't jingle, but you jiggle so hand over your love 'cause it's heavy in the middle move it like a mover want to groove it so I grooved her then she want to learn went to school and I schooled her - Mary had a little lamb.
- Not like this we can toss and turn, rumble, tumble, and twist anything you want to give it fantasy's the limit so lay down and relax yeah, baby, that's it now that we found love what are we gonna do.
Now that we, ooh with it what are we gonna do with it now that we found love what are we gonna do with it.
Come on and tell me - get 'em up, one time.
- Now - whoo-hoo-hoo.
- Great, you guys.
- Nice.
- So, Jane, what did you think? Well, I thought it was amazing.
And you had so much fun doing it, and you were really committed, and I enjoyed it so much.
Michael, of the guys, I thought you hung back a little bit more.
And it might be really fun for you to challenge yourself in the next group number, to maybe be the one who's a little more out there, just for your own growth.
And, Aylin, I just think you're fantastic.
And there's a story in the song, and there are beats, and you treated it like an acting lesson.
And I enjoyed your telling the story, which I thought was wonderful.
Lily, you were making me laugh in a good way.
You were, like, demanding my attention.
It was like, "now watch me do this.
And now I've got this moment," which was just fabulous.
Nellie, Nellie, I thought you held back.
I wonder if it's because you goofed up the lyric a little bit? But I did feel you kind of receded a little bit, like you felt a little silly.
You know, step into who you are.
We want to see who you are.
- So Jane - Yes? Who are you gonna pick as the winner of this homework assignment? I struggled between Aylin and lily.
I'm going with lily.
Really? - Yes.
- Yay! I can't believe that I won this homework assignment.
I actually get to talk to Jane lynch.
Thank you.
Sure.
Lily wins.
I'm really pissed off because I definitely deserve to have a mentoring session with the Jane lynch.
And not lily.
So congratulations, lily.
You will have a one-on-one mentoring session with Jane to help you prepare for this week's big group number, which is It's a mash-up.
- Oh, yeah.
- Yeah, baby.
Pat benatar's hit me with your best shot.
Whoo.
And blondie's one way or another I'm gonna get ya I love both of these songs.
I'm super excited.
But the theme is fearlessness, and I got the critique again that I was not very stand-out-ish.
So I need to be more energetic than ever because clearly I'm not doing enough.
It's not just a mash-up.
We also have one more element that we're adding.
A slushy fight.
Yes! - Oh, my God.
- Yes! You've obviously never been hit with a slushy.
I'm so excited about slushy week.
It's so much more than fearlessness now.
We are being initiated into all things Glee.
It's gonna hurt, but whatever.
I'm so excited.
So slushy fight.
One more element! We're not done! It's gonna take place at a high school Swimming pool.
Oh, bathing suits.
I knew it! I really don't have any fear of wearing a bathing suit because I've just gotten really comfortable with my body over the years because I've had to deal with all the crap that's been given.
There's no choreography session this week.
So instead, you'll go straight into wardrobe fittings.
Lily, can't wait.
You and me, baby.
All right.
I love it.
See you guys.
Good luck.
- Thanks.
- Bye.
- Hi.
- Hola, wardrobe.
Have you guys had to wear competitive swimsuits before? Only in my wildest dreams.
You're gonna wiggle into one of these, okay? Yeah, for sure.
Are you guys excited for swimwear? Yes.
I'm not excited to wear something I'm uncomfortable in.
Like, I just am not comfortable with my body.
Thank you, Nellie.
- Do you feel weird in it? - Yeah.
I just don't know how I'm gonna be comfortable in it.
For what it's worth, my junk is so clear.
It's cl.
You feel like a superhero.
Yeah.
- Are you okay? - Mm-hmm.
Don't look at me like that! Oh.
- What's wrong? - I'm worried about the week.
Like, I've been sitting here, talking out of my ass about how I'm gonna be confident.
But, like, I don't know how I will be.
It's just, so many things are stacked this week.
You know, I did a last chance performance last week.
So I don't want to be there again.
And I have to do it in a bathing suit.
Yay.
All right, cut it.
Good, good.
I need this to stop.
This has to stop.
Breathe.
What do you think about this whole situation? I think I really like it being here and doing this whole thing and you being a part of that.
Last week Aylin and I tried to just be friends.
But now, my relationship with Aylin has somehow turned into this thing that is really real.
I mean, I like what's happening so far.
I can't give it a name.
- I guess I can't either.
- Yeah.
You want to, like, svuggle tonight or something, - and talk about it? - Maybe.
I don't know, technically, what Charlie and I are.
But there is a possibility that he may be my first ever boyfriend.
I guess we I don't know could kiss or something.
Don't push your luck, Charlie.
All right, all right, all right, all right.
- Hello.
- Hi! The theme of fearlessness is something that can be reflected in vocals by overcoming the fear and showing an extreme amount of confidence.
So we need serious attitude on this.
That's okay, let's see how you do it put up your Dukes, let's get down to it Awesome.
Okay.
Yeah, every single person out there is, like, looking through the window right now.
They're trying to make you nervous.
Oh, the competition's on.
Hit me with your best shot - Stop looking out there.
- Fire away Ish.
You didn't do vibrato, but it just felt too contrived, like you were trying too hard.
Today, again, I wish Charlie would spend a little less time looking out the window at all his friends and focus a little bit more in the studio.
He is all over the place, and it's a mess.
Hit me with your best shot fire away ow-ah! - Yeah.
- You like it? - Yeah, I do like it.
- Whoo! So let's focus on your solo line first.
I'm ready to bring it.
Going into the booth, I've practiced it to the point where it's still gonna be original and creative, but I'm gonna have the confidence of practicing and rehearsing behind me.
Knock me down it's all in vain I'll get right back on my feet again Something's not quite ringing quite right yet.
It is a little high, to be honest.
It's a little higher than I'm Used to.
It doesn't sound high.
Okay.
It feels high.
I feel like Michael is wanting to try and overcome his fears.
But I think that he's kind of letting them get to him.
He's probably the worst overthinker of the group.
I think he's stuck in the same rut he's been in a lot of weeks in this competition.
It just takes a little time for me to Take your notes and apply them.
- Oh.
- Dude, this is cool! The concept of this week's video is the contenders are on a high-school swim team.
And during their practice, a massive slushy fight breaks out.
It's a big, big assignment today.
All right, you ready? Here we go.
Hey.
Cut, cut, cut, cut, cut, cut.
Ooh! One more.
It sticks to every part of your body.
And it's so cold that it burns.
Ooh-hoo-hoo.
I think we can do a better one than that.
It should be less, um, laughing.
You know what I mean? I don't know what it is about Aylin, but when things do start to go less than stellar, she starts to laugh instead of get serious.
If her laughing were to help her then get better focus, that'd be great.
But I don't think it does.
All right, let's hear it again.
Let's try it.
You're all, like, looking at her, yeah.
Hit me with your best shot Charlie is so low key.
Let's go again.
Let's go again.
Right away.
Let's go again, right away.
Charlie's lip synch seems a little off.
Charlie, just be careful.
At the very beginning of a lip sync, make sure you're not late.
Okay.
Also, just when you say your very first line, just make it a little stronger.
Okay.
So I'm saying my like, saying my line as I'm getting out? Mmmm.
This is just slow-motion sexy stuff.
Oh.
You got it, Nellie, I'm telling you.
I believe in you.
My little thing is, like, getting out of the water, and doing the hair flip-shake slow-motion thing.
And I am not as excited As no, I'm just not excited.
I think Nellie, of all the contenders, seems to be the least confident in how she looks.
That was good.
That was good.
All right.
Ready to go again? Face to here.
I realize that everyone's watching.
And that's when I, like, just want to sink underwater and disappear.
Like, it's just really weird.
Nellie is a little bit shaky.
Um, it seems like she comes out and then, if you don't, like, constantly give her encouragement, she shrinks.
Now our homework winner your team captain and she's gonna hose each of you.
But it should be, like, something kind of sexy.
My character is big and brassy and showy.
And I definitely feel more confident about improv-ing and knowing your character after talking to Jane lynch.
When you're acting in a group with someone, what's your mind-set about it? Is it like you are this character and this character would Yeah.
You really have to know who your character is.
You really have to have answered all of those basic questions.
So you show up really solid, having done your work.
And then you throw it all away, and you're prepared to just take the other person in.
I know why I picked you.
You remind me of a young Jane lynch.
Oh, I love that.
I love it.
I think this is a moment for me to shine.
So I'm definitely gonna bring that this week.
Out cut, cut.
Everything works really well for lily this week.
So you guys just got to, like, stand in position.
You can't lean too far forward or back.
All right, roll it, roll it.
I think this is a really fun video shoot.
It's super challenging in the fact that these poor kids have to run around in their bathing suits and have slushies thrown at them, and continue singing and continue performing and continue acting the song.
And that's tough.
I want to do it.
I really want to do it.
- Are you sure? - Yes, I really want to do it.
I'm a little nervous as to how I'm going to do this because I can't sit in my wheelchair, and my body doesn't handle extreme temperatures well.
This is gonna be really hard because the other people have - they can move and she's gonna have to take it with very little - react and she needs to hold herself up.
- All right, Ali.
- Get me good.
Ready? Roll it, roll it.
Hit me with your best shot Hit me with your best shot come on and hit me with your best shot All right, cut it.
Good, good.
Good, good.
In my head, it gets to, "I need this to stop.
This has to stop," and I'm having trouble inhaling.
- She was doing awesome.
- Is she crying? I think she's crying 'cause she can't get her breath.
She just said, "I can't breathe, I can't breathe.
" Hey.
And I'm trying to laugh because I don't want anyone to see that I couldn't do this.
Yay! That was nerve-wracking.
Scary and fearless.
This is going to be extremely tough because all the contenders deserve such credit for having a really rough day just physically.
Oh, my God.
He's still under there.
So this is gonna be another long, excruciating night trying to determine who's going to sing for Ryan.
It just is not getting easier.
And marker.
Here we go.
And cue playback, please.
Hey.
Swim team sucks! [Hit me with your best shot Hit me with your best shot why don't you hit me with your best shot I'm gonna get you, get you get you, get you hit me with your best shot fire away I'm gonna get you, get you, get you, get you one way or another, I'm gonna find you I'm gonna get you, get you, get you, get you one way or another, I'm gonna find you I'm gonna win you I'll get you I'll get you you're a real tough cookie with the long history of breaking little hearts like the one in me that's okay let's see how you do it put up your Dukes.
Let's get down to it hit me with your best shot why don't you hit me with your best shot I'm gonna get you, get you, get you, get you hit me with your best shot fire away I'm gonna get you, get you, get you, get you come on with your come ons you don't fight fair but that's okay see if I care knock me down, it's all in vain I'll get right back on my feet again That's right! Hit me with your best shot why don't you hit me with your best shot I'm gonna get you, get you, get you, get you hit me with your best shot fire away I'm gonna get you, get you, get you, get you and if the lights are all out I'll follow your bus downtown see who's hanging out hit me with your best shot fire away I'm gonna get you, get you, get you, get you hit me with your best shot hit me with your best shot why don't you hit me with your best shot I'm gonna get you, get you, get you, get you hit me with your best shot fire away, hey one way or another, I'm gonna find you I'm gonna get you, get you, get you, get you yeah yeah yeah I'm gonna get you, get you, get you, get you fire away I'm gonna get you, get you, get you, get you hit me with your best shot Oh, wonderful! Slushy time is over.
That's a wrap.
Good job for everybody.
It does take you the longest time to get the right performance.
Erik had to do more takes of you than all of the other contenders just to get what he needed for the video.
It's gonna be so difficult to measure fearlessness this week.
It's different for every person.
It was the hardest week since I've been here.
But I feel good about what I did.
And I don't think I deserve to be at the bottom.
You got to make me a promise though.
Uhhuh.
Don't miss me if I'm gone, okay? Charlie and I definitely have a connection.
I can try to promise.
But I'm afraid of liking him just because it would just really suck if one of us were to go home.
It's gonna be fine.
I know.
This week was all about fearlessness.
Let's start with our mvps this week.
Lily, you own this video.
Like, undeniable.
It's lily's video.
Our second mvp this week is someone who we feel really epitomized fearlessness.
And that's Ali.
Thank you.
You were great every step of the way during the week.
And what's so wonderful about you is there's never an excuse.
Ali and lily, you are both called back.
Thank you so much.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I can do anything in this competition now.
Bring it.
Fire.
Next! I'm ready.
All of you gave good performances this week some of you, spectacular.
Others needed extra notes and more support to get there.
Shanna, Blake, and Abraham You three are all called back for next week.
So Michael, Nellie, Aylin, Charlie, we had to decide which three of you would do last-chance performances tonight.
Charlie, last week we told you that your acting choices were sometimes confusing and that you disappeared in the group numbers.
I'm afraid that this week we felt that we were seeing that again.
You had the first line of the song in the big group number, but you seemed to be just throwing it away.
I think I was just trying to be very natural about asking Aylin to slushy me.
And I think the energy came in underneath.
There's that fine line between simple and then just so passive that it's not even interesting, especially since it's the start of the song.
Aylin, I know, in the shoot, there were times when Erik struggled to stop you from giggling or being silly.
I think I really did disappoint myself yesterday.
And, like, there was always, like something in the back of my head that was like, "I don't think, like, that was enough.
" The focus just seemed a little bit off, which is what you're saying.
Nellie, it was obvious this week was really challenging for you.
You were clearly intimidated by this particular assignment.
You know, Nellie, you did fight through all of your fears and your insecurities, but it's crazy Erik had to actually do more takes of you than all of the other contenders just to get what he needed for the video.
You ultimately gave a great performance.
But on a real set, you won't have mentors and directors that are this patient and allow for this many takes.
Michael, in the homework performance, Jane's fresh perspective was telling.
She just thought you needed to do more, which is a note you've been getting for a while.
And, Michael, when you compare to the rest of the contenders, it does take you the longest time to get the right performance in the studio.
We know all four of you are spectacularly talented.
There's no doubt about that.
But there's only going to be one winner of The Glee Project.
And if you want that to be you, you must bring your "a" game every time.
Charlie, I'm afraid you will be performing again for Ryan tonight.
Aylin, you will also be doing a last-chance performance for Ryan tonight.
Michael You're called back.
Hit it.
Thank you.
Good luck, guys.
So, Nellie, Aylin, and Charlie, you three will be singing for Ryan tonight.
Okay, let's talk about your songs.
Nellie, your song is.
Beyonce's classic if I were a boy.
Oh, my gosh.
Do you know it? I sing the song, but, like, it's Beyonce, so it's a little scary.
Well, it is fearlessness week, so that's good.
Aylin, your song is Take a bow by rihanna.
Okay! - Okay! - Okay.
How 'bout a round of applause! I will take that.
Charlie, your song is It's not unusual by tom Jones.
Oh, you don't know it? Wait, is that the it's not unusual to make love to anyone Charlie, you are such a versatile performer that I think this song will allow you to show Ryan yet another side of you.
So you have two hours to rehearse.
This is fearlessness week, so go for it tonight, you guys.
It's on, bitches.
Get off the stage.
- Amen.
- Amen.
Mm.
Whew! It's definitely not a fun feeling competing against Charlie, but it is a competition at the end of the day.
And I nt to be on Glee more than anything.
And I would never let a relationship get in the way of that.
Please, just cut it out I think I could understand I'm performing for Ryan Murphy.
That just sounds scary.
But I just need to try and focus on the fact that one of my strong suits is being emotional in music.
And this is an emotional song.
So I'm not thinking about going home, I'm just thinking about doing this performance.
That was a shh ton of words.
I've been in the bottom three for the last three weeks in a row.
And now we're on number four.
But like always, I'm not going down without a fight.
It's not unusual to write songs with lots of words This is going to be one of the hardest last-chance performances I've ever done because I feel like I've really got something amazing going on with Aylin, and I don't know what I would do if she went home.
But at the same time, I still want to be in this competition like crazy.
I just don't know that what you're doing is the show.
I feel like we're asking you to be onGlee, versus you fighting to be on.
Ding.
Fearless, fearless, fearless, fearless, fearless! The girls come out and they all say, "let's all get naked and get comfortable for tomorrow.
" Fearless, fearless, fearless.
So we take down our pants, and we all end up playing basketball and, like, doing swimming motions.
And Charlie's jumping off the walls with his boots.
He looks like a naked lumberjack.
- Okay.
- Here we are again.
Fearlessness.
I have to say, when I watched the footage from the video shoot, these are the people I would have picked.
They were a little reticent and a little shy and not as bold as the others.
So who's first? Aylin is first.
And Aylin is absolutely one of the strongest contenders in the competition, but in the video, she just seemed kind of Less than.
Yeah, I don't know if it's focus or when there's a time to be serious, she laughs it off.
Okay, let's bring her out.
Oh, my God.
Oh, look, guys.
Hello, I'm Aylin, and I'm going to be singing take a bow by rihanna.
You look so dumb right now standing outside my house trying to apologize you're so ugly when you cry please just cut it out oh and the award for the best liar goes to you for making me believe that you could be faithful to me let's hear your speech oh now it's time to go curtain's finally closing that was quite a show very entertaining but it's over now go on and take a bow but it's over now good.
Thank you.
So where was this girl in the video this week? Where'd you go? I don't know.
In the history of the show, I've never seen anybody get the slushy and laugh.
And you laughed.
You just sort of wrote it off as opposed to being the girl that everybody would root for.
I didn't root for you.
And I think you have to sort of step up into that role, which is the leading lady.
And a leading lady is both strong and vulnerable.
And I'm not getting both of those things from you tonight.
- Okay.
- But I think, if you get on the show, thousands and thousands of girls will say, "for the first time, I am represented.
" You're a first.
That's a hard thing to carry on your shoulders, but I think it's an important thing.
And I wish you would take that a little bit more seriously.
'Cause I think you are a game changer.
- Wow.
- And I think you should try a little bit harder to step up into that.
Thank you.
Okay, who is next? Charlie.
Charlie's problem is that he is an amazingly talented genius of a performer.
But somehow, on the set, he's making odd acting choices.
Hello, Charlie.
- Hello, guys.
- Hi, Charlie.
I am so coming to love these weekly sessions.
I'm sure you are.
Like I am.
This isit's not unusual.
It's not unusual to be loved by anyone it's not unusual to have fun with anyone but when I see you hanging around with anyone it's not unusual to see me cry oh, I want to die why can't this crazy love be mine you asked for that crazy part now I didn't even ask for permission Two, three, and it's not unusual to say that I could be on Glee although it's been four weeks now in the bottom three but, Ryan Murphy oh, I know that you'll agree it's not unusual to find that I'm in love oh, I'm in love with you oh - splits.
- Oh, my gosh.
Shoot.
You know, Charlie, I think you're great.
And I thought your song was amazing.
That was the best you've ever sang.
The thing about the show that's hard is it's not just a performance show.
It's not about the thing that you bring there, it's about the thing you bring during the week.
At the beginning of the video this week, you are being very soft.
And you're kind of always just playing your own thing, and you're not in the vibe of what the other kids are doing.
I think I can definitely, definitely fit into where you guys need me to be, if I pay more attention to it.
Every time you talk, I'm like, "okay, I'm sold.
" Every week we go through this.
That's the hard thing for me because there's a lot to be said in this business just sort of marching to your own drummer.
And you are that person.
So it's hard for me to say that what you're doing is wrong.
I just don't know that what you're doing is the show.
I want to be a part ofGlee.
I want to be a part of the show, Ryan.
More than anything, right now, that's what I want.
I hear you.
- Hmm.
- And you did great.
Thank you.
Hmm.
Okay, so Nellie's next? Nellie is here because of her insecurity.
When she is in the group, she just fades away.
And she just needs the confidence.
Hello, I'm Nellie, and I'm gonna be singing if I were a boy.
If I were a boy even just for a day I'd roll out of bed in the morning and throw on what I wanted and go if I were a boy I think I would understand how it feels to love a girl I swear I'd be a better man I'd listen to her 'cause I know how it hurts when you lose someone you wanted 'cause he's taking you for granted and everything you had got destroyed and when you're just a boy you don't understand how it feels to love a girl someday you wish you were a better man you don't listen to her you don't know how it hurts when you lose someone you wanted 'cause you're taking me for granted and everything you have got destroyed but you're just a boy Oh, my God, Nellie! Here's what I thought.
Like, again, we just go back to the confidence level with you, and I think that's why you're here tonight.
You are uncomfortable sometimes in your skin, and then when you plant yourself in front of a mic, we say, "what the hell is the problem with this girl? Does she not know she's a star?" Look, it was a hard road.
If you put me in a swimsuit, I'd be in cedars, right now, in a drip forget it.
I could not even go forward, it would be so hard.
But when I watched that video, there were several girls who, while they were uncomfortable, they just went for it.
The frustrating thing going into this week was, like, what I was supposed to be working on was, you know, being more confident in a group scenario and all that stuff.
And then, of course, the theme pops out, and it's fearlessness, and we're in swimsuits getting slushied.
And it was like, I couldn't even focus on being more than I was because I was so distracted by, like, all the elements of the video.
I hate to say this 'cause I think you're so wonderful, but I'm done telling you how wonderful you are.
Because there's too many people in this competition that have too many insecurities.
And I feel like we're asking you to be on Glee versus you fighting to be on.
Ding.
Try acting something that you're not.
Let's try that, if you come back.
Because I think you might have some luck there.
Fake it till you make it.
Yeah.
- Thank you very much.
- Thank you, guys.
For me, I think the bottom two is very clearly between these two.
I'm kind of frustrated with both.
I don't know that either of them are going to change.
And I think, you know, they're both performers.
I don't know that they're both actor-singers, and that's what the show needs.
I'd say this can we have one more week with this? Okay.
And what about this one? So this is who I would send home.
Sadly.
So the list is posted.
Go take a look.
I want to stay.
I want Aylin to stay.
I want Nellie to stay.
This is, one way or another, going to end with heartbreak.
As I'm walking up to the list, my brain is telling me that I'm going home.
I don't want to go home.
I don't want to leave my friends.
I don't want to leave this competition.
Ah ah ah ah this journey has been so overwhelmingly positive.
I'm so proud of what I've accomplished.
I think I did the best I could.
And I have no regrets about it, not about anything.
Just stay strong it's been the experience of a lifetime, and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
Nothing less than your best.
You got me? Yes, sweetie.
I'll never forget anything that happened here nothing.
- Ah ah.
- Ba ba ba ba - ah ah.
- Ba ba ba ba ah ah - nothing you can say.
- Nothing you can say - nothing I can do.
- Nothing you can do there ain't no other way when it comes to the truth so keep holding on.
Holding on 'cause you know we'll make it through The theme for this week is theatricality.
Yay! The girls are really talented, and the three guys left definitely need to step it up.
Would you consider yourself androgynous? - I consider myself free.
- Oh, please, no.
Let+s strip it down.
I want you to drop the diva.
I'm super embarrassed right now.
You keep coming out here with excuses, and at a certain point, it's not interesting.
