hands once again on the women's side.

[Alex] Robbie's gotta hold on!

Hi. I'm Wayne Skivington.
I'm 32 years old, from Las Vegas.
And I'm a performer for Cirque du Soleil.
Growing up in the UK,
I always dreamed of being a performer.
I remember that phone call, telling me
I got a job with Cirque du Soleil
like it was yesterday.
I was so happy.
I mean, I still get goose bumps now,
thinking about it.
It's like It was the best phone call
of my life.
I never would've thought that this shy
English boy from the countryside
would end up living
or performing in Las Vegas.
Living the dream.
I thought I had everything, you know?
I thought I was I was complete.
Then, my son was born
[voice breaks] and that was probably
the best day of my life.
Yeah.
The day he was born made me realize
what what life is all about.
I didn't think I could be so happy
being a dad.
-Yes!
-[chuckling] Yeah.
-Wow.
-Whee!
[Wayne] Being a single dad
has changed my life.
The hardest thing I ever went through
was my divorce.
I put all my energy and time into my boy,
and that's given me so much strength.
[Rowan] I wanna be like my dad.
I love him a lot, and he's the best.

[Wayne] I wanna be the best version
of myself for Rowan.
Competing in The Titan Games
would challenge
my mental and physical strength
in ways Cirque never has.
I wanna show him
that if you push yourself,
if you can work hard,
you can be whatever you wanna be.

My name's Robbie Rodriguez.
I'm 29 years old
and I'm a registered nurse.
Both my mothers are nurses,
and that truly inspired me
to become a nurse.
I love helping people.
When they're down and feeling sick,
I just swoop in and save the day.
Growing up,
I found it very difficult to be myself
and come out as the fabulous gay man
that I am now.
But seeing my mom comfortable
being herself and with her partner
allowed me to become out and open today.
[man] Go, go!
At the gym, my nickname is Rhino Robbie,
and I got that nickname
because I can lift heavy things
and I'm strong, like a rhino. [laughs]
I feel very comfortable in myself,
so I started Booty Short Thursday
at my gym
to put that in the universe
that it's okay to be who you are
and do what you love.
I wanna represent the LGBTQ community
at The Titan Games
as a strong, powerful force.
[audience cheering]
[Cari] Hello, everyone.
I'm Cari Champion,
calling all the shots here
with my main guy,
Alex "Golden Boy" Mendez,
and I cannot wait to see
how we test these guys tonight.
Oh, you're so right, Cari.
And here's the thing.
Robbie and Wayne,
they are serious athletes,
both focused on earning a shot
to challenge our current Titan,
Air Force Captain Noah Palicia.
But they'll have to lighten up
on what we like to call Nuts and Bolts.
This challenge is a test
of strength and strategy.
Each wall is strapped down
with nearly 2,000 lbs.
You have to screw off the endcaps,
strip off the weights
and, when you think
that the wall is light enough,
run to the other side
and try to pull it down.
First one to lock the wall in place
and pull their victory chain gets the win.
Time for an epic battle.
Two monster athletes giving everything
they've got in the Titan Arena.
There's no way to call it.
King Kong versus Godzilla,
Kevin Hart versus Danny DeVito,
Wayne versus Robbie.
Welcome to Nuts and Bolts.
[cheering intensifies]
[Alex] Here we go.
We got Robbie in the blue
and Wayne in the red.
And Wayne already has that first cap off
and ready to strip that first stack.
[plate thuds]
Robbie is right there with him,
but he's struggling with that first plate.
[plates thudding]
[Dwayne] Wow!
[Alex] Those upper rows
have about 300 lbs of weight
on each post.
Yeah, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go!
[Cari] Robbie's mom is a dedicated
registered nurse herself,
and you know that work ethic
runs in the family.

[Cari] Wayne started
his gymnastic training at seven years old,
which is exactly how old
his son, Rowan, is right now.

[Alex] Wayne! He's in the lead,
but Robbie's not far behind.

[Alex] Remember, it's up to them to decide
how much weight to pull off,
but if they leave
too much weight on the posts,
they won't be able to pull down the wall
to reach the victory chain.
Wayne has only stripped the gold weights
off those bottom poles,
so that just the lighter silver plates
are left.

[Alex] Robbie's close to finishing off
his fourth stack.

And now Wayne is going for the rope.
Now it's a race to pull down those walls,
but who can lock it in first?

I'm Lindsey Hamm, 32,
and I live in Bishop, California.
Yeah! I think we found our peak.
I'm a mountain guide
and I'm a rock climber.
I'm actually an alpinist, as well,
and a ski mountaineer.
I've done thousands of climbs.
I'm having the time of my life.
-Are you?
-That was pretty gnarly.
Everyone calls me the Hamminator.
So Hamminator goes out
and climbs all the things,
and it pumps me up.
Go up the slope!
I climbed in Liming, China.
I climbed in India.
I've been all over
and seen some of the most amazing spots
that I don't think a lot of people
will ever get to see.
I'm probably not
your typical gal out there.
I live in my the back of my truck.
I have a camper.
Ha!
To be here at The Titan Games is huge.
I do feel a little out of place here,
but I think that's pretty cool.
I'm a non-traditional athlete.
I don't work out at the gym.
I go up the mountain
and that's pretty much me
working out all the time. [chuckles]
I wanna show my physical strength
and my mental strength to the world.
Titan Games is my next mountain
and I'm psyched to see what I'm made of.
My name's Jamara Garrett.
I'm 25 years old,
and I'm from Albuquerque, New Mexico,
and I'm a bank teller.
When I'm at the bank,
it's a very professional environment.
I am a soft-spoken,
very mild-mannered person.
A little on the shy side.
And then there's the Jamara after hours.
[laughs]
The beast.
The one that wants to lift heavy stuff.
The one that wants to throw things around,
if it comes to that.
My favorite day of all is leg day.
I love legs.
Thick, muscly, beautiful legs.
I'm a strong woman. I get in there.
I focus. I'm determined.
I have a really good support system
in order to compete.
My mother. [chuckles]
Me and my mother are best friends.
She's taught me independence.
She's shown me self-worth.
To be handling and holding it down
as a single mother, she did it.
She's amazing. She's the whole package,
I'd say. [chuckles]
I'm gonna make her very proud.
I'm gonna make her the proudest
proudest mother on this earth.
I'm gonna bring all I've got
to The Titan Games.
This is the biggest opportunity
that I've ever been given.
I'm gonna bring it.

Lindsey, Jamara, in this challenge,

At times, you'll be face to face,
maybe even eye to eye.
But you can't worry about your opponent.
You can control your own destiny,
so take a deep breath, concentrate,
and prepare to unleash hell.

[Alex] Jamara in the red,
Lindsey in the blue.
You have to climb and scramble sideways
along all those fences,
to reach the victory Chain at the end.
Oh! Oh, my goodness! Did you see that?
She leaped!
Lindsey, she just jumped forward.
She is moving!
[laughing] Oh, my God.
[Alex] Lindsey's showing off
some of those mountain climbing skills
right now.
She's already at the Chain pull.
[Cari] You gotta remember that
when Lindsey is climbing a mountain,
she's doing it
with a hundred-pound backpack on,
so it's no wonder she made it across
those fences so quickly.
[Alex] But this Chain pull
takes a lot of raw power.
Let's see if Jamara's strength training
can help her close the gap.
This is a back-dominant challenge.
Rowing movement, climbing, pulling.
[Alex] That next fence
starts 12 feet away,
so they'll have to reel it in and jump
to keep going.
[Cari] Jamara started going
to the gym four years ago
because she was tired
of people calling her skinny.
And now, she's hooked.
But then you have Lindsey,
who can hold on to the side of a mountain
with just two fingers.
[Alex] Lindsey's gate is down.
She has to jump to the next fence
and keep making her way
to the victory Chain.

[Jamara grunting]

This is gonna be close.
[Alex] She needs to get moving
if she wants to catch the Hamminator.

Wayne, if you win this next challenge,
you're headed to Mount Olympus.
Robbie, if you win, you tie things up
and even the playing field.
Now, I know you both want it,
but the real question is,
who's gonna go get it?
Robbie, Wayne, welcome to Lunar Impact.
[Alex] Robbie in the blue,

At first, it's all about
getting up top fast.
This is not gonna be a problem
for the acrobat, Wayne Skivington.
[Cari] But Robbie takes the impact
and he's holding strong.
He knows he needs this win
to force a tiebreaker.
[Alex] This is the thing
about Lunar Impact.
It's an endurance test.
You need to overpower your opponent.
Wayne Skivington,
giving everything he's got
to push Rhino Robbie back.
But Robbie is built like a tank.
This man can back squat 500 lbs.
Wayne is using every part of his body
against that wall.

Both of Wayne's shins are bleeding.
[Alex] That's from pushing up
against that bottom bar.
This challenge is so tough
on these competitors,
throwing everything they've got
against the wall
for as long as
they can physically take it.

watching your father compete
in this situation.
You're a young kid.
You view your father as a superhero,
and so far, he has lived up to it.
Someone should call The Avengers,
because Wayne Skivington needs a job there
and he can surely deliver.

[Alex] For Robbie, he can push this one
to a game three.

for people at their toughest moments.

how important hope can be.
[Robbie grunts]

He's out, he's proud,
and he is something special.

through sheer willpower.

are about to pound away
at massive pistons
using their legs as a hammer.
On each side, competitors start
by driving in the two pistons
on their right.
Once that's done, they both go to work
on the golden piston in the middle.
First to lock in the third piston
walks away with the win.
Jamara in red, Lindsey in blue
and they're off to a quick start.
And the mountain guide locks in
her first piston.
[Cari] Lindsey told me her superpower
is her ability to focus.
You know, when you're hanging off a cliff,
any distraction can be deadly.
[Alex] Lindsey's heading up
to that second piston,
but on the other side, you have Jamara.
[piston clangs]
And she's got her first one locked in.
It's all tied up.
[Cari] I gotta give it to my girl, Jamara.
She has the word "resilience"
tattooed on her side.
And she says it's just to remind her

for me to be here
is the biggest challenge of my life
and I'm, like, hyped up for it.

who just gets better with time.

I claimed that mountain, and it's mine.

a really strong competitor,
but I came here to The Titan Games to win.

[Margaux] Having my mom and my sister
around me in the stands,
it gives me strength
and gives me the confidence
to go out there.
Twelve years ago, my other sister,
Kerstin's, life was taken
in a car accident.
That day shaped my life forever.
I threw myself into being
a better version of myself.
I've been able to pursue my passion
in fitness,
pursue my passion in winemaking,
and I wouldn't have accomplished
the things I have accomplished in life
without her.
I honor my sister through a wine
that we dedicated to her.
It's called Cheers-Tin,
and we use one of her final paintings
as the label.
It's called "The Purple Tree."
And it gives me goose bumps
just thinking about it,
because I know she's right here with me.
Lindsey, I didn't come
to The Titan Games to lose.
I'm gonna fight
with all the fire in my heart and my soul
to be not just a Titan, but the Titan.

and it's really tough to manage it.

in tae kwon do
when she was just 12 years old.

every step of the way.
