Masters Of Horror Season 2 ~ Episode 7 The screwfly tiny, seemingly innocuous, but a deadly menace to men and cattle alike.
This vicious pest lays its parasitic larvae in cuts and open wounds, often with fatal results.
In the 1950s, screwflies killed over $2,000,000 worth of livestock every single year.
Then scientists bred millions of male screwflies, exposed them to sterilizing x-rays, and released them into the wild to mate.
