The Titan Games (2019) s02e09 Episode Script

East Region 2: A Surprise for Dwayne

1
[Dwayne] The battle of the East continues.
Two new Titans,
an Army nurse
This black Titan uniform
feels pretty good.
and a small-town schoolteacher
Country strong Titan
looks like that right there.
have knocked out a UFC champ
[Alex] He has defeated the chosen one!
and an Olympic gold medalist
[Alex] I cannot believe it!
in two stunning upsets.
[Alex] Your new Titan!
Tonight they'll defend the mountain
against four new competitors.
I wanna be the hero for my children.
I'm ready for The Titan Games.
Wow.
Oh, no!
[Dwayne] The stakes have
never been higher.
Let's go!
[Haley] My dad would always tell me
I was made for something like this,
so I've conquered Mount Olympus once,
and I'm about to do it again.
I'mma stay a Titan
for Trenton, North Carolina.
[Dwayne] With the regional finals
just two weeks away
[Alex] He falls off!
[Dwayne] the only thing harder
than becoming a Titan
[Alex] Oh, no!
[Dwayne] is staying one.
You got this. Relax, breathe, okay?
We are setting the tone.
We are kickstarting tonight.
-We got this. We got it.
-We're good. We're good.
Come on! Win or lose, we got it.
My name's Michelle Lewis.
I'm 32 years old,
and I live in Atlanta, Georgia.
I do real estate for a living,
and one aspect
I absolutely love about my job
is getting people back on their feet,
reinventing themselves,
starting anew in a new city,
because I know what it's like
to want a new beginning.
I joined the military
when I was 17 years old.
We deployed to Tikrit, Iraq.
So I went from being in high school,
still living with Mom and Dad,
to, like, I'm fully suited
on a security team doing missions.
We're jumping. We're rucking.
6:00 a.m., you're up.
We're fighting. We're training,
training, training, training, training,
and you gotta think, I joined the military
when I was a little girl.
It was intense.
The military just brought
a different animal out of me.
I come from a military family.
We call ourselves the Lewis Lions.
We stand for strength, resilience,
and the courage not to give up,
and that's, like,
who I became in the military.
I did eight years.
When I got out,
that transition was very difficult.
It was a culture shock going from
such a high level of performance.
I was a staff sergeant in the Army.
Like, I was a big dog,
and I miss that tenacity, that grit.
When I found fitness and power lifting,
being able to compete, being at that level
with other athletes
that wanna be the best,
it gave me my power back.
When I walk into that arena,
I'm gonna bring that Lewis Lion.
I have the hair. I have the roar.
I'm ready for The Titan Games.
My name is Dasha Kuret.
I am 31 years old
and I always wanted to be a wrestler.
Wrestling was my absolute
favorite sport in high school.
I could just, you know,
throw people around,
pin them, cradle them, you name it.
I trained for about two years,
and became a professional wrestler
with WWE.
I got to work with some amazing coaches
like WWE Hall of Famer Billy Gunn.
Great job. Let's try it again.
And I ate up every bit of it.
It was like the circus
meeting a telenovela.
I remember peeking out of the curtain,
seeing the fans,
hearing the cheers, the boos.
It fueled my soul.
Just when I thought
my career was about to take off
Whoa.
I had a really bad injury.
I ruptured my Achilles tendon.
It ended up being
eight months of recovery,
and it put a damper
on my entire wrestling career,
but it was a blessing in disguise
because I got to learn
how to host and announce,
and it was able to take my career
to a completely different level.
[Dasha in Spanish] It's just
Now, I'm a Spanish commentator
for All Elite Wrestling.
[in Spanish] The pressure is on his leg
I absolutely love my job,
but I'm an athlete at heart.
Competing in Titan Games
is my best opportunity
to prove that I don't just belong
on the sidelines.
I can still fight.
[crowd cheering]
[Dwayne] Ladies and gentlemen
please welcome the badass Billy Gunn.
-What's up, man?
-What's up, brother?
-Thank you for having me on.
-Good to see you, yeah.
All right, we gotta get this show
on the road.
Let The Titan Games begin!
[Alex] And here they come
into the Titan Arena,
Michelle and Dasha,
two competitors with a ton of energy.
They'll face off in a best of three battle
for the chance
to face our reigning Titan
Army nurse Haley Johnson.
Hey, everybody, Alex "Goldenboy" Mendez
back with Cari Champion.
That's right.
These two will have to survive
what we like to call our swing set
on steroids, which is Launch Pad.
[Alex] The competitors
will have to build momentum,
swing up, and kick off those slabs
that are 15 ft in the air.
Each one weighs 250 pounds,
so it takes serious power.
First to bring down all four
wins the challenge.
[Dwayne] Michelle and Dasha,
at the end of this challenge,
one of you will be soaring,
and the other one
will just be, well, sore.
Well, technically, that's not even true.
You'll both be extremely sore
and in a lot of pain,
but only one of you
will walk away extremely happy.
It's time to take flight on Launch Pad.
[Alex] Michelle in the blue.
Dasha in the red.
And the name of the game is momentum.
Both competitors will need to build up
as much speed as possible,
and when they get to those slabs,
kick with everything they got.
And Michelle, the first to make contact,
but it's not enough.
Let's do it! Come on, now!
Let's get it off!
[Alex] Here comes Dasha.
Big kick, but doesn't get it to fall.
Whoa, Dasha got the first one!
There you go, sport!
What a kick there from Dasha Kuret.
Dasha, Dasha!
Michelle still trying for her first.
[Cari] She trains as a powerlifter.
She's strong,
but she's not getting high enough
to make solid contact with her kicks.
[Alex] And Dasha does it again!
She got her second slab off.
[Cari] Michelle needs to get higher
so she can get the power from both legs.
[Dwayne] Let's go, Dasha!
Let's go, Michelle!
[Alex] The realtor is running out of time!
Dasha with two slabs left.
She knocks down her third.
Got one more to go.
Wow!
Dasha Kuret is your winner!
Unbelievable.
Wow.
[Cari] This former wrestler
came to conquer,
and she did just that.
That's my training partner right there.
Holy She is a beast.
She's strong.
That was amazing.
-Congratulations.
-Thank you, thank you.
Oh, my gosh.
I don't even know what to think.
I'm so excited.
I have no words for how happy I am.
I mean, Michelle's a fierce competitor.
She didn't give up,
so we got round two still coming up,
so it's anyone's game.
You got one more. You got one more.
You got one more.
One more, that's all I'm thinking about
is the next one.
One more challenge. I got one more time.
I gotta win. That's it.
[Dasha grunts loudly]
-[Cari] Is that a wrestling move?
-[Alex] I think so.
-[Cari] Okay.
-[Alex] I think I saw DJ do that.
It was either Baywatch or G.I. Joe.
Oh, so you've been watching Baywatch?
-You know, maybe.
-Oh, okay.
[Cari] I love her energy.
-[Dwayne] She is fired up. Look at that.
-[Cari] Yeah, I love her.
[Dwayne] She is fired up.
Hello, everybody. Welcome to the arena.
[man] Reset men's competition.
Ready pyro.
Yes, let's go!
[Andrew] That's energy!
That's mana. That's prana.
That's qi. That's ki.
That's it.
My name's Andrew Hanus.
I'm a nine-year veteran
of the U.S. Air Force.
Get him, buddy!
I'm a former military working dog handler,
and the very first dog that I got, Benny,
we traveled the world together.
We got to do secret service missions.
Benny was my best friend, my partner.
He was really that rock
that was there for me
when I needed a rock,
and I didn't realize it.
During my first deployment
in the Air Force,
my mom had been diagnosed
with breast cancer.
It was already in stage four,
and I remember the morning I got an email
saying, "You need to come home.
Mom's not doing well."
[crying softly]
Sorry.
It's like it all comes flooding back.
I just started bawling,
and got on a flight the next day,
and I got to spend the last week
with my mother
and say good-bye.
After my mom's passing,
I really needed to find a way
to be active and get out and engage again.
I actually found myself
in the gym quite often,
and it just became a part of who I am.
My mother taught me how to carry on
when times are tough.
She was always smiling
even if it was the worst of times,
and I like to think
that I exude a lot of her.
When I walk into that arena,
no matter what the challenge is,
I'll take it with a smile on my face.
My name is Ryan Steenberg.
I'm 36 years old,
and I'm from Rochester, New York.
I am a professional athlete
in the sport of golf
as one of the world's
top ranked long drivers.
[announcer] He's watching that one.
[Ryan] Hitting the perfect ball 485 yards,
there's just no better feeling
in the world.
[cheering]
[announcer] What a shot!
[Ryan] I do have a nickname
on the World Long Drive Tour.
It is the "beast from the northeast."
I'm not the tallest,
but I'm definitely the stockiest.
That's what I'm talking about.
And the beast just freaks out
on the tee box.
It is what it is.
Strength versus agility,
I would say I'm a mixture of both.
In golf, you have to be
very pliable, very agile,
and from a strength standpoint,
I deadlifted 635 pounds
a couple weeks ago,
but I can turn that strength
pretty fast rotationally,
so I'd say I'm a functional beast.
When I'm in the gym
and my children are there,
they definitely wanna get involved.
Tire flipping, rope pulling, you know,
it's just about what Daddy does,
I wanna do it better kind of thing,
and I love it. I eat it up.
I wanna be the hero for my children.
They are my driving force
for everything that I do.
Whenever I hear that sweet,
little voice go "Daddy,"
it pushes me a little harder
and a little faster.
I wouldn't take me too lightly
out there on the Titan floor.
I'm coming.
[grunting]
Go, Andrew!
Fences typically trap you in,
or they keep you out,
but I devised a much better use for them.
In this challenge,
fences are the key to Titan glory,
so, Andrew and Ryan,
don't let a bunch of twisted metal
stand in your way.
Get ready to conquer Chain Linked.
[Alex] It's a race across six fences
hanging ten ft in the air.
Both athletes have to share the first four
as they scramble sideways,
but the fifth section is too far to reach,
so they have to crank it closer,
then leap.
The first one to reach the victory chain
grabs the win.
We got Ryan in the blue,
Andrew in the red.
It is our insane version
of a hundred-meter dash.
It's a race to the victory chain.
[Cari] Yeah, Andrew,
you might notice a smile on his face
while he's actually competing.
That's what he's known for.
[Alex] Andrew is flying across
those fences.
[Cari] He's a strong competitor.
Back in 2018, he won first place
in the North American Strongman regionals.
Wow, wow.
Ryan's 252 pounds
of pure muscle, Goldenboy,
but this challenge
tests agility and quickness
in addition to his strength.
[Alex] And Andrew makes it
to the chain pull.
That next fence is 12 ft away,
so he'll need to crank those chains
to get it close enough to jump on
and continue to make his way
to the victory chain.
Andrew drops the gate.
He'll have to jump to the next fence
to keep moving through the challenge.
Ryan now getting to work
on the chain pull.
Pull, pull, pull!
There's the leap.
Right now, Andrew Hanus
is climbing on those walls
like he's Spider-Man.
Ryan is digging in with some big pulls.
There goes his gate.
Ryan crushes the chain pull.
He's still in this race.
No, he falls off!
He falls off!
[Dwayne] It's all right, big boy.
It's all right.
Let's go! Let's go!
[Alex] Ryan's gotta hurry and get up there
because Andrew's on the final fence,
and he's closing in on the victory chain.
That's gonna do it!
[whooping]
[Cari] That was smooth.
Good job. Very smooth.
[Alex] So Andrew took
his first step on the road
to face the teacher and reigning Titan,
Will Sutton, on Mount Olympus.
I worked hard for this
so I ain't ready to give it up easy.
I'mma go all out.
[Alex] But Ryan isn't done yet.
He'll get a shot to push
this best of three competition
to a tiebreaker, if he can come back
and win the next challenge.
You're just getting warmed up, big man.
Now I know why silverback gorillas
-They don't do that.
-don't climb trees, huh?
That's right.
-All good, brother!
-Good job.
Congratulations.
-That hurts a little bit.
-Yes, I understand.
I understand.
-Thank you.
-That forearm, man.
Andrew, Andrew!
[Cari] Andrew runs over to his family.
I love you.
His brother, all in the audience happy.
Great job, man.
I have a feeling he did this for his mom.
She died of cancer,
and she always told him
to keep pushing and keep smiling.
Yes, he made it through!
[Ryan] Having my kids here in the stands
means everything to me.
They support me win or lose.
Chain Link got the best of me.
That's for sure.
This is just the warm up, baby.
Yeah, we'll get it done next time.
How you doing?
Good man, good luck out there.
-Excellent, thank you, sir.
-Okay.
[Andrew] I'm kind of
a high energy individual.
Hey.
-Doing all right today?
-Doing all right, yeah.
Even when I'm really nervous,
like in this very moment,
you're not gonna know
because I'm always smiling.
I know how to keep myself cool,
calm, and collected.
Yeah, right now it's 1-0.
I'm ahead of Ryan.
It's the best two out of three
in these events, and, of course,
I really wanna win this
'cause I plan to go to Mount Olympus.
Yes!
Daddy.
[Ryan] I'm 0-1,
but this is a moment for me
to prove to my children
that you can overcome obstacles
and be triumphant.
Daddy, is it gonna be loud in there?
Maybe a little bit. Close your ears, okay?
Just close your ears, okay?
-Like this?
-Yeah, just like that.
I just gotta hang on,
grit my teeth, and go.
Daddy's coming back, baby.
[Dwayne] So, guys, for this challenge,
three is the magic number
for how many cylinders to target.
It's also the number of tequila shots
it takes for Cari
to start dishing out
electrifying People's Elbows.
Bang. Watch this.
Andrew, Ryan, this is Kick Out.
Good job, Cari.
[Alex] Ryan in the blue,
Andrew in the red.
You have to kick those two pistons
on the right,
lock 'em in place, then move on
to the center, gold piston.
The competitor who locks that one in
wins the battle.
Wow, Ryan with a power kick.
He takes the early lead.
[cheering]
But Andrew quickly answers back.
We're tied at one.
The strength of Ryan Steenberg
on full display right now.
[Cari] We've never seen anyone slam
those pistons in place with a single kick.
[Alex] But on the other side,
Andrew drives his second piston
into place.
Come on, Andrew, go!
[Alex] Now it all comes down
to that final, gold piston.
And look at the transition there
from Andrew!
But look at the kicks from Ryan!
Wow.
And it seems like Andrew Hanus
can't do anything to stop it.
He has to figure out a game plan here.
Use your knees!
There it is.
[Alex] The thing that I am
wondering about here
is whether or not Ryan
has the grip strength
to hang onto this
because he's carrying a lot of weight.
He's a silverback.
And if Andrew can somehow fight this back,
but he's so close, Cari. He's so close.
Oh, wait, Ryan falls off!
Ryan falls off!
[Cari] This is crazy.
Come on, Dad!
[Cari] This is a big opportunity
for Andrew
to kick his way back into this one.
[Alex] But that piston is so far in,
Andrew can't get enough momentum
to move it.
Now, get it!
And here comes Ryan.
Let's go, beast!
Both competitors on the gold piston.
Andrew trying desperately
to fight his way back.
And Ryan's winding up.
There you go!
Ryan Steenberg ties it up!
What a match that was, Cari.
There you go. Shake it off.
You did great. Congratulations.
[Alex] Now we're gonna be going
to a tiebreaker
between Andrew and Ryan
to see who gets to face
the small-town schoolteacher
and reigning Titan, Will Sutton.
Hard to beat country strong.
I worked hard for this black uniform,
and I don't wanna give it up.
I wanna keep this black.
I love to look good in this black.
I look real good.
-Appreciate it.
-Great job, brother. All right.
It's gonna be a great tiebreaker
-between you two.
-Absolutely.
-Come on, good job.
-Thanks.
I tried!
We love you!
[Andrew] It's 1-1.
I'm still smiling though
because it was fun.
I had a blast.
Now we gotta go into the tiebreaker.
Best man moves on to Mount Olympus.
Let's go right now.
Round three, ding, ding.
Let's go.
Give me ten minutes, actually.
[roaring]
Round two.
If I don't win this second challenge
I will be eliminated.
So I can't lose.
Yeah!
This is my opportunity to prove to people
I can get back into the ring,
and I can show people
injuries don't have to stop you.
You can keep going forward no matter what.
Dasha, one more win,
and you go to Mount Olympus.
Michelle, if you win, everything changes,
but it's not gonna be easy.
This is gonna be a challenge.
It's called Over the Edge.
[Alex] Michelle in the blue,
Dasha in the red.
This is the Titan version of tug-of-war.
You have to reel in 75 ft of heavy chain,
then another 75 ft of rough rope,
so that you can start the fight
over that concrete block in the middle.
Wow, looks like Michelle
has got the early lead here.
[Alex] Michelle gets it moving first.
This could be the advantage
she was looking for,
but Dasha's gonna be right behind her,
and now we start the tug-of-war here.
You have to pull that 100 pound box back
far enough to trip that Titan T.
Whoever does it first gets the win.
[Cari] Michelle is something special.
Being in the military says
she's disciplined,
she's been trained to overcome
problems and distractions,
and she's locked in right now.
Now the test of wills begins.
[Alex] Oh, whoa!
Big pull there from Dasha.
[Cari] Dasha's a fierce competitor
in everything she does.
Back in college, a friend suggested
she compete in beauty pageants
to help pay off her debt,
and, never doing it before,
she ended up winning four titles.
Well, these two are giving it
all they got.
[Alex] The former pro wrestler
trying to keep this one
in her favor, getting low.
Dasha started pulling with her lower body.
Let's go, Michelle!
[Alex] Michelle not out of it quite yet.
She's trying her hardest.
Dasha, Dasha!
[Cari] But Dasha looking to put her away
and move on to Mount Olympus.
[Alex] She's right there.
And Dasha Kuret is going to Mount Olympus!
Wow, you're going to Mount Olympus
-Thank you.
-to face our Titans.
-Thank you.
-Congratulations.
[Alex] She'll face the reigning Titan,
Haley Johnson,
the Army nurse who knocked out
Olympic gold medalist
Hannah Teter last week.
She's got nothing on me.
Great job. Great job.
Thank you for the effort.
Thank you for the effort.
Michelle, hold your head up high,
my friend.
You are something special,
and I'm glad that her family and friends
are here to root her on
'cause that was an impressive performance.
[Michelle] I look at it as
a learning experience.
That just means
I gotta come back harder next time.
It was by far one of the best things
I've ever done.
I'm truly humbled to be here.
Truly, truly humbled.
[Cari] Team Dasha, come get your hug.
Crowd surf with your family and friends.
Her mom, her aunt, her training partner.
Thank you!
I'm so impressed by her.
Everyone's saying she was a beauty queen,
but she's like, "No, I'm a beast,"
-like, more so than the beauty queen.
-That's right.
I'm here for all of that.
-You're a beauty queen.
-He is a beauty queen.
I tried out a few times.
You know, ugly duckling pageants.
Dasha, Dasha, Dasha!
[Cari] I love this.
[Ryan] Heading into the tiebreaker,
I feel great, man.
It's an even playing field right now, 1-1.
Herculean Pull is gonna decide
who moves on and who does not.
This is a power exercise,
so we're gonna get on those poles.
Let's just dominate just like I do.
The beast out the cage, baby.
[Andrew] Ryan's an animal of a competitor.
He might be able to overpower me,
but I'm not gonna let that happen.
I'm gonna be faster than him,
and just try to maintain the edge.
That way I can make it out
to Mount Olympus
and show what I'm worth.
Andrew and Ryan, two dominant competitors.
The irresistible force
meeting the immovable object.
I created these games
exactly for a moment like this.
It's win or go home on Herculean Pull.
[Alex] You start by ripping out
two silver poles.
Each is 20 ft long and weighs 100 pounds.
Then you race up to the golden pole
for a blind tug-of-war,
holding yourself 10 ft off the ground.
Whoever punches the steel plate
behind them first
is headed right to Mount Olympus.
We got Andrew in the red.
Ryan in the blue.
First you need to remove
those two silver poles.
Then it's a race
up to that golden pole in the middle.
And Ryan already with one pole out,
and, wow, Andrew right behind him.
[Cari] These guys are moving quick.
Ryan with his second pole out.
[Alex] Andrew right there.
Come on!
[Alex] And Andrew first
to get to the gold pole.
But Ryan gets up and grabs on.
Both competitors pulling
with everything they've got.
-Go, Andrew!
-Go!
First to hit the target behind them
punches their ticket to Mount Olympus.
Both legs! Use both your legs!
Ryan's got his feet
spread up on that ramp.
Andrew is pulling not only the pole
but all of the weight of Ryan.
Both of them only have one leg up,
like mirror images.
[Cari] Andrew has a bit of an edge.
[Alex] So close.
[Cari] So close but yet so far.
[Dwayne] Pull!
[Cari] You can see and hear
how brutal this challenge is.
[Alex] Oh, no! Andrew fell off!
Andrew fell off!
Ryan fell off too!
I cannot believe it!
Let's go! Up, up, up, up, up, up, up!
[Alex] Both men are down.
Andrew's going up to the top.
[Cari] How did they simultaneously fall?
Oh, my goodness.
[Alex] Ryan with a big pull
now has the lead.
[Cari] Here we go.
Stay in it, Andrew. Stay in it, Andrew!
No, no!
Andrew fell off the pole again!
He needs to get back up
before it's too late.
Now! Now! Get it!
[Cari] DJ, the crowd is lit.
They are feeling these competitors!
[Alex] But Ryan has the advantage.
Andrew is hanging on for dear life.
Pull, pull!
One big one, and he's so close.
One more, silverback.
One more!
Let's go, beast!
Ryan Steenberg is just a foot away
from a trip to Mount Olympus.
Ryan Steenberg is your winner!
[Cari] They're exhausted.
Ryan, do you feel all right?
All right, brother. You did it.
Yeah.
That's a big dude.
That is a big
You're going to Mount Olympus.
Sounds good.
I came here to become a Titan,
and now that I got it,
ain't nobody gonna take it away from me.
-Thank you, brother, for your effort.
-I appreciate the opportunity.
-Thank you so much.
-Thank you for your effort.
-Best of luck to all.
-You crushed it.
Come here, man.
I'll hold you up, you hold me up.
-That was awesome.
-Yeah.
I'm proud of you.
[Dasha] I am absolutely elated.
I'm getting closer and closer,
inching and crawling
and making my way to be a Titan.
[Alex] She's undefeated
in this Titan Arena.
Welcome back your defending Titan,
Haley Johnson.
[Alex] Look at the strength
of Haley Johnson!
That is Johnson strong!
I am the current reigning Titan.
I went up against Hannah Teter,
who is a Olympic gold medalist.
Going up against someone like that
was definitely a little nerve-wracking,
but I still came out on top,
so feeling pretty good.
In my Army career,
I've learned when stuff gets hard
[Alex] That's 100 pounds.
just keep going.
As a military nurse,
I've trained to get people
out of battle when they're hurt
going uphill, downhill, over walls,
whatever it takes.
So coming into this
is kind of bringing back out that fire.
[Alex] The Relic is in hand.
[Haley] To be a Titan in this very moment
means more
than it would've ever meant before.
My dad would always tell me
I was made for something like this.
He can't be here to see it,
but I know that he is proud of me.
I've conquered Mount Olympus once,
and I'm about to do it again.
[Alex] Welcome back our defending Titan,
Lieutenant Haley Johnson.
Haley, Haley!
Our Army nurse is trying
to hold down her crown
here in the eastern region.
To do that, she'll need
to take down Dasha, a former wrestler,
on Mount Olympus.
Haley, last week you showed the world
what it means to be Johnson strong.
Dasha, you made sure
the smacketh was layeth down
as you swept your two challenges,
but there's no time
to revel in past glory.
Haley, Dasha, it's time to set
a new standard of excellence
right now on Mount Olympus.
[Alex] Dasha Kuret in the red.
Haley Johnson in the black.
And Haley is the first
to reach the Box Flip.
You need to get low
to get enough leverage,
but no problem for Haley.
She's heading up and onto the Iron Ascent.
And look at Dasha.
She was struggling a little bit
in the initial lift there for the Box Flip
but managed to conquer it.
Now push!
Up ahead, though, you got Haley Johnson
who is shredding through the Iron Ascent.
Dasha is just starting her way up.
She needs to get going
because look at Haley go!
She's not slowing down at all.
[Cari] We saw how impressive
Haley was last week
when she fought through
two grueling challenges
and then beat
Olympic gold medalist Hannah Teter
here on Mount Olympus.
[grunting]
[Alex] Oh, no, Dasha.
She actually tumbles down
holding the Log Lift.
And our Titan Haley Johnson
is starting to run away with this.
[Cari] Dasha and Haley are both only 5'3",
two of the shortest athletes
in this competition,
so it takes good technique
to get that log high enough.
She's figuring it out.
She's getting that leverage.
She's getting the leverage, yep.
[Alex] Up top, Haley brings down
the other side of the bridge.
She's heading to the Cage Crawl,
while Dasha's still battling
to lift that log up the incline.
[Cari] That log is 100 pounds,
so you could imagine
just lifting 100 pounds,
trying to get your leverage,
and go up a mountain.
[Alex] And Dasha does it!
There you go. Good.
But Haley Johnson is already
finishing up the Cage Crawl.
[Cari] This first lieutenant Army nurse
out here doing her best.
Here she comes.
You know where she works
in the hospital, right?
She delivers the babies.
[Alex] She is about to
deliver another win.
A Titan baby.
A Titan baby!
[Alex] The Ball and Chain,
dragging it across the arena.
Dasha still struggling.
Go, Dash!
[Dwayne] Haley is strong.
She's got that Johnson strength.
-[Cari] No relation to DJ, but
-That is my sister.
-Oh, she is.
-Well, yeah.
-She's a Titan, so she's my sister.
-Oh, yeah.
[Alex] That's 200 pounds,
and Haley Johnson has just one obstacle
left to conquer.
There you go.
[Alex] Haley Johnson, so impressive.
She hasn't lost a challenge
in this arena yet.
[Cari] And we see that Dasha
is still making her way
through that Cage Crawl,
but she's not gonna be able
to catch Haley Johnson.
[Alex] She has the Relic in hand,
and still your reigning champion,
Haley Johnson!
Come on.
-Johnson strong.
-Yes.
Johnson strong.
There you go.
[Alex] Haley Johnson, so impressive.
I tried. Great job.
As for Dasha, this race is over,
but at the regional finals,
Dasha will have an opportunity
at redemption
to be able to come back here.
The day, though, does belong
to our reigning Titan, Haley Johnson.
It's everything
that you could ever hope for
in this competition, you know,
to win two challenges back-to-back,
but I know there's a third one
hanging over my head,
so I know I gotta go back out and kill it
and bring that Titan title home for real.
Two-time Titan winner Haley Johnson.
You are undefeated
here in the Titan Arena.
What is your secret?
I don't know. I got my dad with me.
That's the only secret I have.
I completely understand that one, yes.
I'm gonna cry. Stop.
You're gonna make me cry.
[Dwayne] You did great.
We look forward to you
defending your Titan title.
You are kicking ass in the Titan Arena.
Andrew definitely put me behind
the eight-ball real quick.
He beat me pretty handily on Chain Linked.
[Alex] Oh, no, he falls off!
That's gonna do it!
[Ryan] But I was victorious in Kick Out
[Alex] Ryan ties it up!
and Herculean Pull.
[Alex] And he's so close!
What a match that was, Cari.
[Ryan] Knowing that I can persevere
and be triumphant,
I couldn't be more excited.
Now it's on to Mount Olympus.
I'm definitely ready
for that challenge, baby.
The beast is back, rattling the cage.
He's ready to come out
in some fight, some fury,
and take down every Titan in his way.
[growls]
[Alex] Will Sutton is now
your new Titan!
Country strong Titan
looks like that right there.
Right there.
It felt great to go out there
and beat Tyron Woodley,
one of the greats in the UFC.
Will Sutton
is one of the most deceiving athletes
I have ever met in my life.
I know people underestimate me.
I'm a high school teacher.
I don't look as big
as everybody else out there.
I don't look like I'm as fast,
but sometimes it's good
to be underestimated.
[Alex] Unbelievable.
Only in The Titan Games
can a schoolteacher
defeat a UFC champion.
It ain't over with, Will Sutton.
I'm coming back.
[Will] To be a Titan
is an awesome feeling.
Had butterflies on the inside,
and it's all because of
where I was raised,
how I was born,
and my roots in Trenton, North Carolina.
Trenton's a real small town,
only about 285 people.
One stoplight,
and one main street going through it.
If you blink once, you missed it.
Trenton means the world to me.
It's a great, supportive community,
and I just know that they got my back
and they're gonna cheer me on.
I'mma stay a Titan
for Trenton, North Carolina.
[Alex] He's from a small town,
but he wants a big win here tonight.
Remember, there's only one spot left
for the men in the Titan Championship
just three weeks from tonight
Let's go, Will!
But to get there,
the road goes through Mount Olympus.
Ryan, your power on the driving range
translated into a powerful win
in Titan Arena.
Will, you continue to defy expectations
and prove that country strong
can take it all the way home.
Which one of you
will conquer the mountain?
Let's find out right now.
Ryan, Will, this is Mount Olympus.
[Alex] Ryan Steenberg in the blue.
Our Titan, Will Sutton, in the black,
and look at Will just darting
through the starting gates.
It's just incredible
how this man continues
-to impress us day in and day out.
-Yes.
[Cari] Ryan Steenberg is the biggest
competitor we have in the east,
weighing in at over 250 pounds.
And Will, he's only 185.
[Alex] And Will, the high school teacher,
is just sailing up the Iron Ascent.
[Cari] I love saying, "The high school
teacher from Trenton, North Carolina
is our Titan."
[Alex] It's mind-blowing honestly Oh, no!
Ryan Steenberg is down!
But Will Sutton keeps going
and has made it to the top of the summit.
Oh, no, this isn't good.
He may have really hurt himself.
Will Sutton continuing on the course,
taking a look back to see
what happened to Ryan.
-What's going on, brother?
-Popped my bicep.
-Popped a bicep?
-Left side-felt it go twice.
Okay.
[Alex] It looks like Ryan
is done for the night,
but, Will Sutton,
he just has to keep on going,
end this thing out.
-You able to get out?
-Yeah.
Use Let me.
[applause]
[Cari] They're giving Ryan
a round of applause.
[Alex] As they should.
[Cari] He has been a worthy competitor.
[Alex] Meanwhile, Will making his way
through the Cage Crawl.
He's been here before
after taking out UFC champ Tyron Woodley
last week
to become the reigning Titan.
Just a few more obstacles to go
before he can advance
and reclaim his Titan crown.
Will Sutton from Trenton, North Carolina.
Go, Will!
I think there's 285 people in Will's town
of Trenton, North Cackalacky,
right now watching.
Well, there's one missing
'cause he's here.
[Cari] Exactly.
-284, plus him, 285.
-I'm good at math.
I'm horrible at math.
Let's go, Will.
[Alex] Will Sutton approaching
the Titan Tomb.
He's gotta crack it open
and get that Relic.
And there it is!
Will Sutton about to put this one
in the books.
And still your Titan for the second time
is country strong Will Sutton!
-Get that helmet off.
-Yes, sir.
-There you go.
-Yes, sir.
There you go.
[Cari] It's a disappointing outcome
for Ryan Steenberg.
He fought his way through three battles
with Andrew Hanus
and was definitely hoping
for a better outcome
here on Mount Olympus.
Let's hear it for two-time
Titan champion, Will Sutton.
How you feeling?
I'm feeling tired.
A little bit better than last time,
'cause I can talk this time.
He can talk this time.
Well, we look forward
to you defending your title
for a third time.
Congratulations, brother.
Very, very proud of you.
We'll see you right back here
at Titan Games next week.
Country strong.
