[clears throat] Oh, Benny, not again!
Oops, sorry.
Imagination takin' a walk
on the wild side again, Ben?
Once I start, I just can't stop.
I know how you feel.
Maybe you just need a smaller paintbrush.
Or maybe you need a bigger canvas.
Hey, now, that'd be the perfect canvas
for your big old mind.
Uh, I'm not allowed to paint there.
I can ask my boss for permission--
Oh, whoa!
Whoa! Oh, whoa! Whoa!
[chuckles] Like I was saying,
I could get you permission!
This wall's been needing
an overhaul for years.
Really, Dad?
Yeah. Leave it with me.
Oh, the boss will love the idea.
Oh!
[Ben] This'll look magnificent, majestic.
Uh, it'll look great on the museum wall!
[chuckles] No offense,
but what's with the bunch of bones?
It's an archaeological
An excavation
It's some dinosaur bones being dug up.
What, you don't like it?
[knocking at door]
I got good news!
And I have some bad news as well.
Good news is, my boss agreed
that the mural on the wall is a good idea.
Yes!
So what's the bad news?
-I am holding an art competition.
-[crowd gasping]
The winner gets the honor of reproducing
their work of genius
onto the wall behind me.

Competition?
But I wanted that space to be mine.
Then I guess you'll just have to win.
You can use this to get inspired.
I drew it just this morning.
It's your mother.
What, you can't see it?
Your style is just unique, Dad.
[giggles] Uniquely terrible!
The winning work will show
the real Motown,
its magnificence, its guts, its glory.
Entries close tomorrow, 10:00 a.m. sharp!
Um, who are the judges?
Judge, singular, meaning me!
You got a problem with that, civilian?
Um, no.
Good. As you were.
No time to waste, Benny.

This is gonna be like a taste test
of what's inside the museum.
Um, I'm just not sure
Ancient Egypt screams "Motown."
Oh. Okay, okay.
I can do an architectural blueprint
of Beat Street, then.
Nah, I'm not feelin' it, Benny Boy.
[sighs]
Don't worry.
You'll come up with something awesome.
Hang loose!
I know exactly what you need to sketch.
The basketball court.
It's been the heart and soul of Motown
since the very start.
Yeah, okay, I guess that could work.
[sighs] If I give it a twist.
Is that the fence?
It's the hoop!
Oh, now I see it.
Wait, no, mmm-mmm, still don't see it.
Ooh, I've got another idea. Follow me.
Check it out!
The old buildings,
the skate park, the street art.
It's all so Motown!
What do you think?
Um, it's a really cool wheel.
Oh, yeah.
I guess I was distracted.
I mean, I had my mind on something else.
[Angie] Well, it's okay.
I'm sure you'll think of something, Benny.
Of course he will!
But what really is magnificent
about Motown?
My winning entry
for the art competition, that's what!

Its music.
