A-Actually, can you take me back home?
I am not supposed to tell you this.
But Maggie's going to Oxford.
I like you, Gary.
But I don't have time for you to figure out how you feel about your ex.
What I realized is I don't want my life without you.
I gave you your space.
You see me happy, and now you want me back in your life? You're too late.
She could really be our birth mother.
ROME: Welcome to the world.
I realized for the first time I can raise this baby on my own.
You made me want this.
Like it or not, you and I are gonna be in each other's lives.
So we need to make this work.
Maybe instead of trying to get back to what we were, we figure out what we're gonna be.
I was thinking what if we renewed our vows? EDDIE: I was drunk and I don't remember, but I had something to do with this, didn't I? How am I supposed to think about the future when I have a big question mark over my past? I love you.
I love you, too.
[TIRES SCREECH.]
Eddie? Eddie? MAN: Oh, my God! Eddie? Call 911! Someone call 911! Hello?! Eddie?! Can you hear me? Hello? Uh, this is This is my husband's phone.
- Not breathing, no pulse.
Starting CPR! - Is he Is he okay? He's, um He's been in a bad accident.
[DIALING, RINGING.]
WOMAN: 911.
What's your emergency? OLDER MAN: There's been an accident in front of Mazzilli's Bar.
A man's been hit by a car.
Send an ambulance.
Hurry! Is the driver still at the scene? Uh, no.
No, no.
They drove off.
Okay.
Can I get your name? - [TIRES SQUEAL.]
- Sir? Hello? So, uh, how long is Liam at his dad's? Through the weekend.
Why? What did you have in mind? I thought, uh, maybe we could go to town on these little dinosaur nuggets.
Rowr! Or, if you keep doing that thing you did earlier, I might throw in a juice box.
- The earlier thing? - Yeah, the earlier thing.
- Oh, look at that.
- [CELLPHONE RINGING.]
It's your friend Katherine Who's also my friend Katherine.
What do you think? Should we tell her that we're having some meats in the shape of extinct What's wrong? [KNOCKING.]
REGINA: I can't do this right now, Rome.
I can't.
Eddie he's been in an accident, and they're airlifting him to Boston General.
Oh, my God.
It doesn't sound good.
When Theo gets here, don't mention anything to him, okay? He thinks he's coming for a fun indoor campout, and Katherine doesn't want him to know anything until She just doesn't want him to know.
But Eddie's gonna be okay? Right? - [KNOCK ON DOOR.]
- [STAMMERS.]
- Okay, let's - KATHERINE: Hello? - Hey! You made it! - Hi! Go set up in the, uh In the living room, yeah.
Any update? Still unconscious.
Uh, I-I need to get over there.
Wait, Charlie's down for the night, and Sophie's got the kids.
I thought maybe I could come with you I mean, i-if if that's okay.
Of course.
- We're We're family.
- Okay.
- I'll drive.
- Okay.
[DOOR OPENS.]
[INDISTINCT TALKING ON P.
A.
.]
Did Gary say where to meet them? No, he just said the fourth floor.
Gina, I [CELLPHONE VIBRATING.]
Is that him? No, it's it's Gloria.
From the agency? If she's calling to say she's sorry about the baby, I don't want to hear it.
[VIBRATING CONTINUES.]
[ELEVATOR BELL DINGS.]
- Hey.
- GARY: Hey.
Any updates? No.
No one's said anything.
But, uh I get the sense that it's really bad.
Everybody's in the waiting room.
Okay.
How's she doing? She just said more to you than she said to me all night.
Well, how are you? Compared to Eddie? I'm great.
REGINA: I don't understand.
What was Eddie even doing at Jasper Lake? So, when Eddie and Lindsay were kids, their family used to rent this house every summer up there.
But one year, there was an accident.
One of the daughters of the family in the house next door drowned Alex.
Eddie didn't remember anything.
He'd been drinking that night.
Lindsay said that she found Eddie passed out on the dock.
Then she brought him upstairs, and she didn't know that Alex was missing.
Once Eddie found out, um, he wanted a clear conscience before we renewed our vows.
So he went back up, and he found the bracelet that Alex had been wearing in the pocket of the pants he had on that night.
[VOICE BREAKING.]
Apparently, it was enough to send him to a bar.
He, uh [SIGHS.]
He said he hadn't been drinking.
He was going to, but he didn't.
And he he was coming home.
He was about to be home.
[DOOR OPENS.]
Mrs.
Saville? ROME: I don't understand.
It It's horrible that Alex drowned, but it sounds like it was an accident.
Well, obviously, he didn't see it that way.
Where's Lindsay, anyway? Katherine kicked her out.
Good.
Sorry, but as soon as Lindsay got back in town, Eddie went to a bar.
I don't blame Katherine for wanting her gone.
[BREATHES DEEPLY.]
Um, so they're, uh, rushing Eddie into emergency surgery.
Apparently, there's a lot of [VOICE BREAKING.]
internal bleeding.
They don't know if he's gonna [CRYING.]
Maybe I should get Theo.
[SNIFFLES.]
Just in case.
You have to think positive right now.
Yes.
Honey, he's gonna be okay.
What if he's not? DELILAH: Hey.
If, God forbid, anything should happen, we'll be here for you.
Same way you were all here for me.
It's like you said earlier We're family.
Yeah.
[DOOR CLOSES.]
- We should tell Maggie.
- [SIGHS.]
Uh yes, we should.
You want me to call her? - Yes.
Would you mind? - No.
It'll be better coming from you, you know? We're still in that phase where, if I call her, it's gonna Wait, wait.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
But if you call her, it's gonna seem like I told you to call her 'cause I didn't want to call her.
I should call her.
- I should call her.
- Shh, shh, shh, shh.
- MAGGIE: Hi.
- Get Getting the voicemail.
No! Then hang up, hang up! - [CELLPHONE BEEPS.]
- [SNAPS FINGERS.]
I'm-a text her.
As long as we're not overthinking it.
I'm gonna put you on the text.
It's gonna be a group-text chain.
How is this conversation with yourself going? [SIGHS.]
It's just, it got [SIGHS.]
Man, it got really awkward between us earlier.
Went to the airport to say goodbye.
Whoa.
You went to the airport? You're not coming with me.
I just started seeing somebody, and and I'm happy.
I want you to be happy, too.
So go to Oxford, have the best time ever, and when you get back, Colin and I are gonna want to hear all about it.
[SIGHS.]
[SIGHS.]
Alright, love.
That'll be £7.
50.
Um sorry.
I [SIGHS.]
don't have any cash.
Do you take credit cards? Machine's broken.
Okay.
Um, you know what? That's okay.
I will just run inside and borrow some from my new roommate "Jamie.
" Stay right here.
She should have it.
Take as long as you want.
[BEEP.]
Oh.
Uh Right.
That makes sense.
Back in a jiff.
[ELEVATOR BELL DINGS.]
[SIGHS.]
[SCOFFS.]
What? "What?" This.
It's how the four of us met.
[CHUCKLES.]
Trapped in an elevator.
Remember how terrified you were when we got stuck? No.
I don't.
[LAUGHS.]
Don't say "stuck" until we get to our floor.
You keep pacing like that, you're gonna wear out the cable.
What? Is that a thing? It is if it'll make you sit down.
How high do you think we are? Okay, okay.
Guys, uh, uh, distraction.
Eddie, uh, if you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead, who would it be? [CHUCKLES.]
[ELEVATOR BELL DINGS.]
I can't afford to lose anyone else tonight.
If it makes you feel any better, I'm not going anywhere.
[CHUCKLES SOFTLY.]
It doesn't.
[LAUGHS.]
[KNOCK ON DOOR.]
Hi! Jamie, I'm Maggie, your new roommate.
- [CHUCKLES NERVOUSLY.]
- [VOICE BREAKING.]
What? Oh.
Uh, there was a last-minute change.
Somebody dropped out of my program, and I stepped in.
I thought they would've told you, but clearly, they didn't.
Uh, I tried calling you, but my phone's not getting service.
Anyway, so nice to meet you.
And this is a terrible way to make a first impression, but I need to borrow 10 do uh Pounds, for the cab driver outside.
[CRYING.]
He's such a jerk! No! No.
He's just doing his job.
He drove me here from the airport.
I-I owe him the money.
[CHUCKLES.]
No, my boyfriend.
[SOBBING.]
Uh oh.
Okay.
Um, well, good news.
I'm a therapist.
[CHUCKLES.]
I can help you with this.
This relationship's already starting out great.
If I could just get my co-pay early I caught him texting with his ex.
Oh, no.
Thank you for trusting me to share that immediately.
What should I do? [SNIFFLING.]
Well, I think that's exactly the right question.
You can't control what he does.
You can only control what you do.
And if he's causing you to be this upset, maybe you deserve better.
I see that your purse is right there, and you're in no condition to get it.
You just stay right there, and I will do this.
You're right.
Thank you.
Who's this? Someone who thinks I deserve better.
And do you know what? She's right.
I never want to see you again, Jamie.
No Cassie, wait! - Cassie! - [DOOR OPENS.]
- [WHISPERING.]
Cassie? - [DOOR SLAMS.]
Oh, God.
Who the hell are you? [NORMAL VOICE.]
Jamie Mm.
I'm Maggie.
Uh [CHUCKLES NERVOUSLY.]
I'm your new roommate.
So nice to meet you.
Do you think I could borrow £10? [CELLPHONE BEEPING.]
I can't believe the doctors haven't updated us.
Uh, maybe I should check in with Sophie, make sure Theo's okay.
Actually, she just sent a video.
SOPHIE: [LAUGHS.]
Say it again.
Chubby Bunny! [LAUGHTER.]
See? He's doing fine.
Nope, he's got to say "Chubby Bunny" three times, or it doesn't count.
He's fine.
Oh, my God.
- REGINA: What is it? - [CELLPHONE BEEPS.]
I just listened to Gloria's voicemail.
Who's Gloria? She's the, uh the social worker who paired them with Eve.
What does she want? What? Gloria found us another baby.
ROME: Apparently, there's an expectant mom in Lenox who hasn't placed with a family yet, and she went into labor earlier tonight.
That's incredible.
W-What? Yeah, but because of everything that happened, Gloria wanted to jump us to the top of the list.
[SCOFFS.]
But there's S-So much is going on right now, and, Katherine, we can't leave you.
KATHERINE: [SIGHS.]
Guys, you should go.
- All of you should go.
- What? ROME: Katherine, we're okay.
It might be hours before we hear anything.
You two should go get your baby.
- DELILAH: But, Katherine - I know.
I know you guys want to be here.
I love you for that.
I'm fine.
Okay? And I promise I will text you as soon as I hear anything, okay? So, don't take this the wrong way, but go home.
- Phew.
- Really? [GROANS.]
- Okay.
- Okay.
You guys should sleep.
Thank you.
- Love you.
- Love you, too.
Good luck in Lenox.
Congrats.
Send you more videos.
[CHUCKLES.]
[DOOR OPENS.]
[SIGHS.]
[SNIFFS.]
What? I'm here for something else.
[SIGHS.]
Hey, roomie.
Jamie, look, I r I really want to apologize again for what happened earlier.
I j I thought that they would've found me housing with a female roommate, but I guess whoever dropped out of my program was a guy or a guy with a girl's name.
[CHUCKLES.]
Too soon? Look, I, uh I know I'm not in any position to ask for more favors, but is there any way you'd be willing to help me figure out how to connect my phone to a British cell tower - or just any cell tower? - Oh, my God.
Just What makes you think you can come here and start offering people advice? Well, that's actually the whole reason I'm in your country.
I'm a psychologist.
Ah.
'Course you are.
Honestly, I don't trust therapists.
Just don't get you guys.
Why don't people just talk to their mates? Well, some people don't have friends they can talk to.
And for other people, it's better that they have someone to talk to who doesn't know everything about them.
Well, it might have helped if you'd known just a little bit more about me, like the fact that my ex and I are still friends.
- Oh.
- Yeah, "Oh.
" You probably won't believe this, but she and I get along better now that we're not together.
No, I believe that.
Yeah, the thing is, ironically, I'm kind of trying to figure out how to be friends with my ex right now, too.
Mm-hmm.
How's that going? Complicated, to say the least.
Well [SIGHS.]
if you ever want to talk to someone about it see a therapist.
[CHUCKLES.]
Oh.
Thank you.
[CELLPHONE CHIMING RAPIDLY.]
Oh, no.
No, I'm sorry.
I don't have any updates.
But we did get the toxicology report that you ordered.
It came back negative.
There was no alcohol or drugs in his system.
Thank you.
[SIGHS.]
Gary, I-I just Guy was at a bar.
You were right to check.
[VOICE BREAKING.]
I just wish I could see him.
[SIGHS DEEPLY.]
I never want to eat s'mores again.
Oh, really? 'Cause I was just about to open up another box of graham crackers.
- I'm in.
- [CHUCKLES.]
Double-marshmallow me.
Hi, guys.
Wow.
You really committed to junk food.
- DANNY: Guilty.
- SOPHIE: Yeah.
THEO: Is my dad gonna be okay? This is Mom's iPad.
She's been getting texts all night.
Aunt Darcy seems very worried.
I'm not supposed to do this, but you guys can sit with him for a few minutes until my shift is over.
GARY: Oh, thank you so much.
H-Here.
At least take my froyo rewards card.
[MONITOR BEEPING STEADILY.]
[RESPIRATOR HISSING.]
GARY: [SIGHS.]
Don't.
Just don't even go there.
[CELLPHONE RINGING.]
[CELLPHONE BEEPS.]
Hey, D.
Everything okay? Ohh.
Um yeah.
Le Let me talk to him.
Hey, T.
Um Dad's been in an accident.
And, um I'll wait with him.
And, um Uncle Gary and I are at the hospital right now.
[SIGHS.]
Alright, look, dude, here's the deal.
You're, uh, fighting for your life.
But I've seen you throw a punch.
It's not great.
I know a true friend is supposed to give you permission to stop fighting.
But just so we're clear, you do not have that permission.
You hear me? You cannot leave us.
You can't leave Katherine.
You can't leave your son.
You can't leave your daughter.
You can't leave me.
[SNIFFLES.]
[INHALES DEEPLY.]
[SIGHS.]
Dude? Hey.
I felt a squeeze.
[BOTH LAUGH.]
Yeah! Ohh.
Because of the seriousness of this moment, I'm not gonna make a threesome joke.
But this is - [CLEARS THROAT.]
- this is where it would've gone.
Thank you, Gary.
[CHUCKLES.]
[ENGINE STARTS.]
[SEAT BELT CLICKS.]
[SIREN WAILING IN DISTANCE.]
[GEARSHIFT CLICKS.]
[ENGINE SHUTS OFF.]
Are we doing the right thing? We should be coming home with our son right now.
I know.
[SIGHS.]
[SIGHS.]
So much has happened in the last 24 hours, but there is a baby in Lenox who needs us.
And we could be parents tomorrow morning.
But should we? [CELLPHONE RINGING.]
[SIGHS.]
[CELLPHONE BEEPS.]
Hey, Gloria, I was just about to call you back.
Can I call you back? GLORIA: Um okay.
Yeah.
Sure.
[CELLPHONE BEEPS.]
He's stable, but they won't know the full extent of his injuries until he's awake and they can run more tests.
Where's Katherine? She, uh She just took Theo out for a walk so they can talk about things.
[SNIFFLES.]
With everything that's happening, should I just come home? [CHUCKLES.]
First of all, I love that you said "home," 'cause this is your home.
When you met us last year, you didn't even know us, and you helped me so much when I was in the worst place in my life, and then you helped Rome, and then you helped Gina.
[SNIFFLES.]
And you You even helped well, t-that man who shall not be named.
You helped everyone.
Now it's time for you to help yourself.
- [SIGHS.]
- Hm? So, what are we supposed to do, Rome? Just go to Lenox and act like the last 24 hours didn't happen? Yes.
That's exactly what we should do.
Aren't you upset about what happened with Eve? I am devastated.
That sonogram you crumpled up and threw to the ground has been in my pocket all night.
But I'm not gonna look back, Gina! I can't, because All I know is, there's a baby in Lenox.
And we could be parents.
We could be a family.
We are a family.
We're a family that is mourning the loss of their son.
I'm sorry, Rome.
I'm not ready.
[SNIFFLES.]
Can't believe you are saying no to a baby again.
That's not fair! When have I ever said no to a baby? [SCOFFS.]
When we got married, we both said no to kids.
The adoption was my idea.
And the only reason I paused on Eve was because I was afraid she was gonna do exactly what she did.
And now, just hours after [VOICE BREAKING.]
losing a baby that we held, that w-we thought was ours [SNIFFLES.]
I can't just erase him with another child.
It's not fair to you, it's not fair to me.
It's Most of all, it's not fair to that baby in Lenox.
[SIGHS.]
Baby, I know you want this.
I want it, too.
But not like this.
What if we never get another chance? [SIGHS.]
[CELLPHONE BEEPS.]
[LINE RINGING.]
Hey, Gloria? Rome? Rome, is everything okay? - [SEAT BELT CLICKS.]
- Rome? Yeah.
[SNIFFLES.]
[SIGHS.]
GARY: How you doing, little man? I'm okay.
Would some room-temperature Jell-O help? Because, uh, I know a guy that can get you green.
Look, your dad is tough.
And believe it or not, he's, uh he's even tougher than me.
I know.
What?! What do you mean you know? I Nurse! Nurse, can I get wheeled to the burn unit, please? Yeah, you're so pleased with yourself.
[DOOR OPENS.]
He's starting to wake up.
You can come in and see him.
[DOOR CLOSES.]
Here, let me take that.
We'll pick this up later.
[CLEARS THROAT.]
Hey, Theo, we're gonna go see Dad.
Um, it might be a little scary 'cause he's hooked up to all these machines, but those machines are helping him.
- Okay.
- Okay? So it's good.
Let's go.
[MONITORS BEEPING.]
[MOANS SOFTLY.]
Hey, Dad.
Hi, guys.
Theo and I wanted to come in and see you, make sure you're doing okay.
Oh, I'm great.
A little banged up.
I got in a fight with a car.
I lost.
Dad, Theo and I, uh were really worried about you.
Oh, don't go up on the bed.
No, no.
It's okay.
Come on up, bud.
[CHUCKLES LIGHTLY.]
Real funny, Dad.
Get on up here.
Come say hi to your dad.
It's okay, bud.
Eddie, do you feel that? Feel what? What is it, Mom? - - What do you think the chances are that this novel coronavirus outbreak could become a pandemic? One of the concerns in the global health sphere is what happens And don't forget these.
Oh.
We got those for you.
Yeah.
Thank you for everything this last month.
Well, you must be excited to get home.
Oh, yeah.
Just waiting for my ride to get here.
- Sorry! - Oh.
I think I hear him coming.
- That was awesome.
- [CHUCKLES.]
I did sideswipe a triage cart, so let me apologize for that in advance.
- EDDIE: Okay, pal.
- [LAUGHS.]
My turn.
- No, I got it.
- Don't forget to Set the brakes? I got it.
EDDIE: [CHUCKLES.]
- [GRUNTING.]
- Okay, that's alright.
Your upper body's still healing.
They're just muscles you haven't used in a while.
It's gonna take some time.
Until then, I'll be your muscles.
Thanks, pal.
[EXHALES SHARPLY.]
I know it must be hard to see him like this.
My friend Darcy's a physical therapist.
She said that for spinal injuries like his, it's less than a 10% chance he'll walk again.
Maybe.
But the chances of him making it through that first night were even less.
[BREATHING HEAVILY.]
- Should we go? - Yeah, I think that's everything.
Oh.
I have the doctor's prescription for you.
I had the pharmacy fill them for you to take home.
This is the anti-inflammatory, and this is the oxycodone, for the pain.
Oh, I don't think I want to take that.
Well, you might be able to get by with ibuprofen and acetaminophen, but you might want to keep these on hand just in case.
Thank you.
On our way to the elevator, I'll show you how to pop a wheelie.
Love that! How about we wait till we're off the hospital property? - Love that.
- I'll call the elevator.
I'll come with you, maybe clean up the triage cart.
Hey.
Katherine, I was just, um Look, I was just thinking about I was thinking about the last time we were in the hospital together, when, uh, Theo was born.
Only, I didn't get there till afterward, and, uh I promised you that I would never drink again.
- And you haven't.
- No, I didn't, but I did go to that bar.
And if I hadn't [EXHALES SHARPLY.]
Look, I just can't help but feel like [SIGHS.]
once again, I've let you down.
And I would totally understand if you said you just can't do this anymore.
Eddie THEO: Elevator's here! [SIGHS.]
Let's just get you home.
I think Nurse Shayna's really gonna miss me.
Totally.
Can't wait for Dad to see the surprise.
[WHISPERING.]
Theo.
I-I-I mean N-Nothing.
[CHUCKLES.]
THEO: Not yet.
Hey, not yet.
- Now? - Not yet! Hey! Did I just see you peek? Okay.
Now you can open them.
TOGETHER: Surprise! Wow! You guys! You kidding me? This is incredible! Welcome home.
[HIGH-PITCHED.]
Daddy, we missed you so much! As soon as naptime's over, we're gonna let you know.
I missed my little girl.
GARY: Check out the ramp we made you.
Huh? Huh? I cannot believe you guys built all of this.
L-Let's be clear, Darcy built this.
Thank you.
I did make the rail on the right side.
Yeah, stay to your left.
We know you've been through a lot.
[LAUGHTER.]
Ha, ha-ha-ha.
That's funny.
Oh, we got to FaceTime the homey, y'all.
[CELLPHONE BEEPS.]
[CELLPHONE RINGS.]
[CLEARS THROAT.]
Hello? Oh, wassup, girl? I wanted to catch you before you went to bed.
- Pop out your retainer real quick.
- [CHUCKLES.]
- I got it.
Check this out.
- Alright.
[CELLPHONE BEEPS.]
It's amazing! Wait.
Is the right side sagging? Okay, did Did he text you to say that? - Gary! Hi! - What's up, Bloom? - How's How's England? - Oh, it's I'm just glad that these two are finally getting a chance to catch up.
I think it's the first time they've talked since, uh, he went to the airport.
How's Colin doing? I saw that he he went to the vet? Oh, yeah.
Uh I didn't realize you were s He's fine.
He may have eaten half of a spinning shoe.
Since when do you spin? I don't Darcy does.
But her s-spinning stuff wasn't at my place.
I mean, it was it was her-her place.
Colin was at her house 'cause, you know, I was also there, and I was questioning her about spinning and Okay.
You know, hey.
What about me? Hey, Mama.
Hey.
Hey! Gina, I love the hair.
Ah, thank you.
Yeah, I just needed a change, you know? Rome, how's casting your movie going? Have you found your female lead yet? Uh, because [CHUCKLES.]
you happen to be talking to none other than Chorus Girl #3 from my high school's production of "Anything Goes.
" Hey, come on, guys! Surprise time! Places, everyone! Another surprise? Wow.
- Careful with that.
- Like my birthday.
GARY: I'll be the clown.
Alright, alright, lay it on me.
How many nails did I forget to put in? You mean bolts? [CHUCKLES.]
Are you okay? Yeah, it's just, uh you didn't tell me you went to see Maggie at the airport.
Okay, n Uh No, I, uh No, I didn't.
And I should've.
I just didn't want you to think that me going to say goodbye to Maggie meant that I wasn't committed to being here with you, because I am.
- Okay.
- Okay.
Okay, I'm good.
You sure about bolts? You sure bolts is a thing? Okay, another surprise? Yep.
Ta-da! [CHUCKLES.]
[SIGHS.]
Well, this is a great surprise.
This isn't the surprise, Dad.
The surprise is out back.
I'll be out back, where there's no surprise.
Is that where our living room is? Um, mm-hmm.
Yeah.
I'll show you.
Oh.
Uh, I got that, sweetie.
I got it.
Thanks.
Um You asked me at the hospital if I was up for spending the rest of my life with you.
Eddie, there's something I have to tell you.
[MENDELSSOHN'S "WEDDING MARCH" PLAYS.]
SOPHIE: [CHUCKLES.]
I am.
[CHUCKLES LIGHTLY.]
Eddie Saville will you finally marry me? Again? Dude, you you better say yes.
- [LAUGHING.]
Yes! - [LAUGHTER.]
Yes.
Of course, yes.
[CHEERS AND APPLAUSE.]
Of course, yes.
Oh.
I don't I don't know where my vows are.
- I mean - Did you See? This is why I'm the best man.
[LAUGHTER.]
Ah.
Eddie, 12 years ago, I told you that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you.
And now that we've built that life together, [LAUGHING.]
I want it even more.
I love you.
Mm.
It's my turn.
You know, Katherine, when I sat down to write these vows, I looked over the ones I originally wrote, all those years ago.
And as much as I want today to be perfect, I think it's important that I acknowledge that I broke those vows.
And I am so sorry.
[SCOFFS.]
I don't know how I got you to marry me once, much less twice.
But after everything I've put you through, you deserve some new promises.
I promise to spend every moment of the rest of our lives making you happy that you gave me another chance.
I promise to put you and Theo - THEO: And Charlie.
- And Charlie.
Yes, indeed.
It's written right here, son.
Thank you.
[LAUGHTER.]
I promise to put all three of you above every other thing in my life.
But it should be acknowledged that the four of us are the family we are today because of you guys.
Our chosen family.
The people who believe in us, even when sometimes we don't believe in ourselves.
And while I can't think of a better best man than Theo, Jon was my best man the last time I married you.
And I'm reminded of a toast he made once.
In it, he said, "Friendship isn't a big thing.
It's a million little things.
" And, for me, Katherine family isn't a big thing.
[VOICE BREAKING.]
It's the people who hold your hand [SIGHS.]
You okay? I wrote these the day before the accident.
For me, family are the people who hold your hand as you take a million little steps in the right direction.
[SNIFFLES.]
Katherine, as I sit here, I don't know if I'm ever gonna take another step again.
But I know that I can get through anything tomorrow brings because of the love you've given me here today.
I love you so much.
I love you, too.
[CHUCKLES.]
Whoooooooo! [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE.]
[OMINOUS MUSIC PLAYS.]
[ENGINE STARTS.]
[ENGINE STARTS.]
