[sighs] Oh.
Why is this bus so late?
[gasps] Mum, look!
Look at what?
Hilda?
- Hey!
- Huh?
Oh, sorry.
I thought you were someone else.
[gentle sad music playing]
[sighs]
What was that all about?
The man over there looked like Dad,
so I thought maybe
- Oh.
- [bus approaching]
Bus is here.
[music fades]
[sighs]
- Maybe I'll practice before bed.
- [whimpers]
Oh, let me just
Proceed.
[whimpering]
[breathes in, blows]
[playing loudly]
What is that racket?
Pan pipes. I brought them back
from Auntie Astrid's.
May I see those?
- Sure.
- Thanks.
Tontu!
[Tontu] Good night.
I see you've kept this
from Aunt Astrid's too.
Well, I made that one.
I never liked these when I was your age.
Aunt Astrid made what seemed
like hundreds of them for me.
She'd slip one in my backpack
or under my pillow.
She even put one in my sock drawer.
That's madness.
A sock drawer is for socks.
Sounds like she was overprotective,
like you are with me.
I'm not overprotective.
Well, not like that.
[Hilda sighs]
If you say so.
[exhales]
Oh, not again.
[car honks]
[tires screech to a halt]
Need a lift?
What's this?
Our new car.
Well, it's not brand-new. It's used,
but the price was right. Get in.
[barks]
What do you say we celebrate
with a road trip and go camping?
When?
Tomorrow.
It's finally supposed to be nice out.
Are you feeling all right?
We'll have an adventure.
Just the two of us.
Ouf.
The three of us. [chuckles]
Let's get home then.
We have packing to do.
[engine starts and stops]
I don't remember our old car doing that.
[engine starts and growls]
There we go. Nothing to worry about.
[upbeat adventurous music playing]
[upbeat music playing through car radio]
[radio interference]
Well, we aren't picking up much out here.
Now that we're out of the city,
can I drive for a bit?
No.
But I've driven before.
Please don't remind me.
[sighs] So, where are we camping?
I reserved a spot
at the Tree Spirit Campgrounds.
Oh.
- I've been there with the Sparrow Scouts.
- Me too. It's great, isn't it?
I guess I thought
we could explore somewhere new.
Well, we're not in a rush
to get to the campgrounds.
If you want to stop and look at something,
we'll stop and take a look.
Hm. I like the sound of that.
[inspirational music playing]

[gasps]
[grunts]

[gasps]
[music continues]

This car isn't built for speed.
That's for sure.
- But we're not in a rush, right?
- [engine sputters]
Uh-oh.
Now what?
[drill whirs]
Wow. I had no idea you were so handy.
You're looking at a Sparrow Scout
who earned her Level 3 Auto Repair badge.
What's this thing?
It's my portable rotating saw.
It's cool, right?
- Very cool!
- [saw roars]
Ooh. Yeah, maybe,
maybe put that back though.
C'mon, boy. Let's see
what there's to see around here.
Don't go too far. I'll have us
back on the road in no time.
Okay. Let's see.
[gentle suspenseful music playing]
[sighs]
[engine starts, roars]
Yes!
Hilda. I fixed the car. Let's go.
Hilda?
[gentle tense music playing]
Twig?
Hilda!
Hilda?
- Mum!
- [gasps]
Oh, Hilda, you gave me a scare.
This place is great.
We should just camp here.
We've got a spot booked
at the campground already.
Yeah, I know.
Although, it is getting dark,
and who knows
when that car will break down again.
You mean it?
There's a perfect spot
just a little further in.
Let's get the tent.
I win.
Well, the winner gets to choose
what to do next.

There's a nice path through those trees.

I would say that.
Mum, look. A lake.
This is weird.
What's weird about it?
This looks like the scene I keep painting.

of this place, but it held on to you.

[wind whistling]

to help catch the fish somehow.
