Mistresses (US) s03e10 Episode Script
What Could Have Been
This next part of my life is whatever I want to make it.
I don't know what you can see in your next chapter, but I can see you in mine.
Previously on Mistresses - Any chance of pregnancy? - I'm on the pill.
No missed doses, doubling up? Once or twice.
It was almost like Joss was obsessed with me.
Some of the things she would say about Luca.
What kind of things? For instance, she said, "you know, I would kill him for you.
" Josslyn Carver, you are under arrest for the murder of Luca Raines.
No, wait! Anything you say can and will be used against you Bottom bunk's yours.
David: I wish I had better news.
Last night, after Joss was booked, she was formally charged with first-degree premeditated murder.
She'll be held without bail since no bail is allowed - No bail? - Harry.
- How the hell did you let this happen? - Harry.
I understand your frustration.
- When can we see her? - That's the other difficult news.
Visitation is only allowed for family members at this point.
We are her family.
This is crazy.
You have to argue it, right? Or appeal? The stipulations are standard and intractable - with this charge.
- Wow.
Well, we're gonna have to get in touch with Savi somehow.
She can see her.
She's at some ashram in India No way to get in touch.
I already spoke to her mom this morning.
- Is she coming at least? - As soon as her ship docks.
She's on some singles cruise on the Baltic.
Look, David, w-we can't just let her sit in some cell, terrified and alone.
She needs contact with people who care about her.
I will see her every day.
Terrific.
Look, I'm poking every hole I can into the case against her.
I will keep you abreast of my progress.
I will let you know when you can visit her.
Joss is strong, guys.
She will get through this.
We'll call you if we hear anything.
You okay, honey? I haven't slept.
Yeah, I know.
No, there's another reason.
I'm pregnant.
What?! Oh, my God, Karen.
- Yeah, I know.
- Who? Alec.
And Vivian.
In all that back and forth between my house and theirs, I must have missed a pill.
Do you know what you're gonna do? No.
I spent half the night trying to make sense of the situation.
Conceiving a baby with a married man is one thing.
- I'll say.
- But with a married man and his wife? I've always wanted a child, and I know I'm 38, but look at my life right now, April.
I'm so very single.
My career's an absolute mess.
I've been considering going back to school for a surgical residency.
You don't have to have it.
But to make that decision on my own? Don't I need to tell Alec and Vivian? Well Despite everything, I still love them.
And you You want to have this baby with them? No.
But maybe they want it without me.
Hold on.
Okay, honey Now that Vivian's health is good again, they might really want this.
Do you realize what it would feel like to carry a baby to term, then hand it over to someone else? Of course I don't.
But in my heart, I know telling them is the right thing to do.
David, seriously, I'm freaking out.
You have to explain to me how this happened.
Joss, I need you to relax.
I just got a sermon on gender fluidity from some arsonist truck driver named Roz.
I don't even how the hell am I even in here? You said they didn't have a motive.
Calista fed them enough incriminating details - for them to build one.
- What details? - Have you seen Basic Instinct? - Oh, my God.
Why? The police are asserting that you murdered Luca because you were obsessed and in love with Calista.
What?! They talked to another witness who inadvertently corroborated Calista's twisted version of you.
- Who? - Your ex-girlfriend Alex.
I'm confident that she didn't mean to hurt you okay.
Wait, wait.
Alex? Why? First and she loved me.
She would never say That your relationship was fast, intense, and impulsive? That when it started, she was with someone else? That you encouraged her to break up and then you moved in together almost immediately? Oh, my God.
This can't be happening.
Not dissimilar to your fast, whirlwind friendship with Calista, except in Calista's case, you couldn't get her away from her husband.
David, but this is insane.
You realize that, right? It was a high-profile murder.
They latched onto the most sensational story they could to build the most compelling case.
Okay, well, how about exposing Calista, then? Her first husband, Justin bowler, she murdered him.
That's sensational.
- I had the police check it out.
- And? The case is firmly closed.
Oh, my God.
There's significant proof that Justin's death was a suicide, just like Calista claimed.
Guard: Time's up, carver.
Look, Joss, this is only the beginning, okay? Oh, my God.
I'll get you out of here.
I will.
Roz: Yo.
No more crying, or I'll open a vein.
You got a trial date yet? I have no idea.
What about a lawyer? Yeah, my friends got me a good one.
Well, he's supposed to be good, anyway.
Lucky you.
I got some butt-lick public defender.
Yeah, lucky me.
I'm in jail for a murder that I didn't commit.
Murder? Geez, who'd you kill? Didn't you kill? It's so complicated, it doesn't even I got a smidge of time.
As do you.
I can't believe this is happening.
How the hell did I get here? You know what? I'm here because I got into Calista's freaking car that day.
And actually I-I never would have gotten into her car if I hadn't been looking for Savi, and I wouldn't have been looking for Savi if I hadn't screwed Scott over to go run down to Harry.
He was the mistake, you know? Running to him is obviously the reason I'm being punished.
What if I never went down to that beach? Oh, my did we seriously just do that? I think we did.
Yes, we did, Mrs.
Trosman.
Oh, my God.
Mrs.
Trosman.
Josslyn Trosman.
Oh, my God.
That's horrible.
That's really, really bad.
Oh, my God.
Well, you know what? We can go with Joss Trosman.
Joss Trosman.
Yes, if I'm announcing the local news.
Look, the name on your passport is carver, right? - Yeah.
- So let's just go with that for now, okay? My passport.
Yep.
Why do I need a the honeymoon.
- Honeymoon.
- No.
- Where are we going? - Don't worry about it.
Listen, you just sit back and relax, okay? I've taken care of the entire thing.
Of course you have.
I love you.
I love you, too.
No regrets? - Not a one.
- Come here.
How'd it go with Joss' lawyer? The whole thing is a damn nightmare.
Well, Joss is innocent.
She'll get out.
Look, in the meantime, you got to know that jail's not as bad as you think.
And how would you know that? Because I was kind of in jail once for accidentally, soliciting a prostitute.
How do you accidentally do that? I could have sworn she was really into me.
Look, the point is, you can tell Joss that with the right insiders' tricks, she can get through just fine.
One no eye contact with other inmates.
Joss is a connector, but nothing good can come from that, trust me.
And no showers.
Too vulnerable.
Plus the smell of dirty body can fend off unwanted friends.
Although some are into dirty.
So she should fake a disease Preferably blistering.
Anyway, that's enough of a start.
Thanks.
I'm late for work.
Okay.
I'm on my cell if you need anything else.
Bye.
Hi.
It's April.
I really need your help.
So, this plastic-surgeon dude surprised you with a fancy wedding and would have whisked you off to Mali Bali.
B Mali's in west Africa.
Oh.
It's he's paranoid Ebola and Yeah, not a romantic disease.
Anyhow, okay, continue.
Uh, what was I even saying? How your life with this Scott would have been perfect.
Huh.
Hmm? Holy Christmas.
Like? Like?! Oh, my I-I love.
What I outbid some fancy fashion designer from New York last-minute.
Calista something? Anyway Honey, it's ginormous.
Yeah, no, it's pretty big.
I think it'll feel less huge once we get some furniture in here, you know? Yeah, or a fleet of sedans.
Well, it's a forever home, you know? I feel like a forever home should feel too big.
- Ooh, forever? - Yeah.
I love the sound of that.
You better like the sound of that.
Oh.
You're good at that.
Mm! All right, listen, I have to unpack.
And I have to answer like three weeks' worth of e-mails.
I'm back to work bright and early tomorrow morning.
- What? Already? - Yeah.
Unfortunately, someone has to pay for this, right? Oh, my God, Savi.
Wait until you see the house Scott just bought us.
You have to come over here.
Okay.
And thanks, Dominic.
Really appreciate it.
What's up? You all right? Do not trust Joss' lawyer at all.
Well, April says he's legit.
Because he's got a couple of diplomas on his wall? I kind of want to throw an a.
A.
Slogan at you right now.
Oh, no, mate, I-I can't.
I can't take it.
"Let go and let God.
" Did someone say my name? Ari.
Hi.
Harry, don't look so surprised.
I often deliver good news in person.
How's it going? Good.
So, tomorrow night, I'm hosting a charity dinner Cat Hendricks foundation, breast cancer, exclusive guest list, $50,000 a table.
Unfortunately Wolfgang fell out, so, Harry Davis, fall in.
Yeah, did I hear you say "tomorrow"? Did you hear me say "$50,000 a table"? brokers and taste-makers are gonna be there.
Yeah, I'm I'm really appreciative, Ari, but I can't just close down wunderbar on a Friday night.
It's not mine to close.
So that's that, then? Yeah.
Sorry.
David.
We need to meet.
Hey, you're here.
So glad you called.
You look great.
Oh, you too.
Is everything okay? You sounded nervous on the phone.
Uh, can we grab Alec? Oh.
I thought you said he was home.
He got called away to the hospital.
Oh, okay.
Um, do you know when he'll be back? Shoot.
Why am I lying? He's not at work.
We had a big fight.
He stormed out.
I have no idea where he went.
Oh, no.
I'm sorry.
It's the norm for us lately.
Ever since you left, we just What? I should be thankful and I am That my health is good again.
But now that the illness isn't an issue, other things are.
We haven't been as physical with you out of the equation.
A piece of the puzzle's missing.
Being with you opened me up to all sorts of feelings that I still want to feel.
But Alec I don't know.
He's content to going back to the way things were Loving, but distant, half of him shut down.
And I can't live that way anymore.
W-what are you saying? I might leave him, Karen.
Hey, there.
How's Charleston? Well, it's an academic conference.
It's not supposed to be fun.
Okay.
I miss you, too.
I'll see you Saturday.
Bye.
Hi.
Hi.
It's so good of you to do this.
I, Um I just didn't know who else to call.
Yeah.
I hate the circumstances, but I am glad to see you.
Look, um, I reached out to a contact of mine at the L.
A.
P.
D.
He's helping me get up to speed with Joss' case.
Now, the narrative that they built around her guilt is unfortunately pretty strong.
But I'm looking at it with fresh eyes and assuming her innocence, so Thank you.
Of course.
Uh, Daniel, look.
I know that there were 100 calls from you I didn't return No, no, no.
Hey, come on.
You had your hands full with Lucy.
It's it's okay.
Really.
How's it going with you two? Well, one step forward, nine steps back.
Rebuilding trust with a person is hard.
Oh, I have to pick her up from school, actually.
Um, do you mind? No, sure.
Um, but let me take you out to dinner.
You know, we barely got a chance to catch up.
What about lunch? Lunch would be great.
Ari, hi.
The waitstaff just told me you were here.
I'd have come out earlier if I'd known.
Well, she didn't come for you, hotshot.
She came to see me.
Ari: So, Mario's expecting your call.
- Don't text him.
He hates that.
- Got it.
Ellis has agreed to give me the run of wunderbar tomorrow night.
What can I say? I support healthy breasts.
- Get out of here.
I'm done with you.
- Yeah.
I need a word with my new client.
Uh, that dinner was bland tonight, Harry.
Just saying.
Ari, well I'm impressed you got him to bend for you.
I'm that good.
Let's talk menu.
Yeah, look, I feel awful saying this, but I-I don't think I can do it.
My head's a mess right now.
My friend is in a major crisis.
Oh.
Yeah, I-I'm afraid I'm just not where you need me to be for this dinner.
I need you to be here where you work.
I-I can't just throw this together.
As it is, I'll be out of the kitchen half the day tomorrow.
I have a meeting with a lawyer on Cancel it.
I-I-I don't think you're listening.
I don't care about your personal life.
I care about giving you a career.
Are you saying I won't have one if this doesn't happen tomorrow night? I'm saying you won't have me.
You didn't tell her? How could I? She's thinking of leaving Alec.
They're not raising this baby together if they're living apart.
And I'm not giving it to them as some band-aid to save their marriage.
So what are you gonna do? So many women I know have waited, gotten their picture-perfect lives in place, then tried in their 40s to get pregnant, but couldn't.
Fertility treatments and miscarriages.
And I get this gift out of the blue? "The blue" meaning sex without a condom? It was a committed relationship with three paranoid adults.
Two of them get blood tested weekly.
- And need I go into Alec's latex allergy? - God, please, don't.
So you and your big glass of wine can shut it.
Okay.
Sorry.
And to be a single mother It's no cakewalk, but I would help you.
Everyone says that.
But I would.
But what about Alec being out there? I mean, it would almost be easier with a sperm donor or a dead husband.
But Alec's in my world.
I see him at work all the time.
So change hospitals.
Oh, April, you know the drama I attract.
I'd run into him at a Starbucks with a baby that looks just like him.
- Tall with a beard? - Yes.
A very tall baby with a very long beard.
Life's complicated.
I know.
So, since Scott's free, think I could get his number? Uh I thought you were married.
He perished in the fire.
I don't think you're Scott's type, really.
And what type would that be? Uh Traditional, I guess.
Scott: We could do London and Mykonos, but Paris and the Amalfi coast would be amazing, as well, right? They both sound fine, uh, but But what? What's wrong? Just what if I can't get away? "Can't get away"? Can't get away from what? Something came up today that I want to talk to you about.
You saw the designs, right? You love them? You don't.
You don't love Th You hate them.
You h we'll change them.
- What what designs? - Jenn Feldman.
- She's our, uh, interior designer, right? - Yeah.
She did a couple of mock-up sketches for the the nursery.
Thought you might have seen them.
Um, for a baby? No.
No, for a monkey.
Yes, honey, for a baby, of course.
Um, honey, isn't it a little bit soon? Well, maybe, you know, but I was always honest with you about how important family was to me, right? No, yeah, it's important to me, too.
I just I didn't mean right right now.
Well, you know, I mean, I didn't mean to Mean to rush you.
No, it's okay.
So, what'd you want to tell me? Mm.
Mm, mm.
Well I got a call about a job today.
Mm.
Really? From who? Yea um, f Yeah, I don't I don't really want to talk about it until it all pans out.
But he's a really big power player, and it could be very exciting, and So is it cool if we just kind of wait on the baby thing, see how it all pans out? Yeah, it's cool.
Yeah.
It's cool.
- Yeah? - Very cool.
David: Right.
Mm-hmm.
Right.
The judge offered mandatory supervision.
That's better than the alternative.
Uh, bill, I have another client here.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay, bye.
Sorry to keep you waiting.
Well, I was out there for an hour and a half.
What's another 15 minutes, right? I apologize.
I have a lot of clients who demand equal time.
Obviously too many clients, because I spoke to a lawyer friend of mine who said if Joss' case was being handled correctly, she'd be out of jail by now.
Is there something specific that I can help you with today? The fact that Joss didn't get bail and can't have any visitors is unacceptable, especially when the police have as little as they do.
They know Joss was at the mansion the night of the murder.
They have video of her in Luca's bedroom trying to seduce him that night.
They know Joss left the scene of the crime wearing Luca Raines' blood, that she drove home and showered, which would have removed any gun residue, before calling 911.
Shall I go on? No, you can you can stop.
So, is that all? One more one more thing.
Yesterday you said that only family members can see her, right? D-does that include in-laws? You and Joss are related? Technically I'm Joss' brother-in-law, yeah.
So you're married to her sister.
I was, but we're divorced.
So you're not a relative anymore.
They don't have to know that, right? Look, I've got a copy of my marriage license right here, which proves that I'm married to Joss' sister.
What if I said I'm the only link to the family because Joss' sister is unreachable, which she is? Could I see her then? I'll see what I can do.
But that's it? Yeah, that's it.
I'll see what I can do.
Y-yeah, it was rough going for a while.
I finally took a job working private security for a wealthy client in Phoenix.
Like in "the bodyguard"? Yeah, if Whitney Houston was a white republican who called his wife "mother.
" - Mm.
- No, it's it's a decent gig.
You know, I-I can take time off when I want, so I'm actually taking art classes.
Art? Really? You know, the guy I was when I was with you, he's not that different from the guy I am.
And if I remember correctly, we made one hell of a painting together.
Yeah, we sure did.
I missed you every day.
I missed you, too.
It's my contact.
Hey, Mike.
No, no, no.
What's up? Well, they sure are lazy when they get a theory, huh? All right, thanks, man.
Bye.
What is it? You want to go for a ride? Look, I'm just saying, I get why you didn't pick Scott.
- What do you mean? - What I'm saying is, you don't seem like the kind of chick that needs to ask permission to do things, like go back to work.
Scott he never tried to control me.
He just he had really big ideas of how he wanted everything to be.
I do what I want.
Like snap your fingers and jump back into the workforce? I have connections.
Oh, excuse me.
I, uh, have an interview.
I hope it's with me.
I hope, I hope.
Josslyn carver.
You must be Ellis Boone.
I can be, if it gets me five minutes with you, honey.
Ohh.
You know, I saw some photos of you in the press material, but, damn, girl, you are striking in person.
Stop, no.
I I have to say, I-I'm I'm a huge fan of your restaurants.
I was just so excited when I got the meeting.
You know, Greta, she doesn't rave about much, but she raves about you.
Oh, she's a good one.
Oh.
She is.
But that is me.
I have to take this.
Do not move.
I won't.
Ellis Boone.
Mm-hmm.
Hi.
Oh.
Hey.
What are you doing here? Um, I, uh I actually have an interview with Mr.
Boone for the new restaurant he's opening.
Wow.
Good for you.
So, um How's married life? Oh, you know.
Nope.
I don't.
It's good.
I mean, so, how about you? What, life in the fast Lane.
You're L.
A.
's hottest chef.
Yeah, well, has its moments.
Yeah.
Ellis: Ah, Harry, my man.
- You know Josslyn, right? - I do.
She may be the one to make wunderbar after-hours the studio 54 of Greta's dreams.
Wait.
I I thought the job was launching a new restaurant at the old post office downtown? Oh, no, sweetie pie.
That space won't be ready till 2017.
We haven't even started the demo on that one yet.
Your assistant clearly said that My assistant is a half-wit.
She doesn't eat carbs, poor thing.
The job is here.
And it's yours if you want it.
Huh.
So, what do you say? You want back in the fold, or Hi.
Sorry I'm late.
How are things going? What? I can't hear you.
Ari's yelled at me so much I've lost all function in my ears.
Where the hell have you been? The dinner starts in less than three hours.
- I got held up at my meeting.
- I told you to cancel that.
And I told you I couldn't.
There's a big difference between "couldn't" and "wouldn't.
" I'll remember this.
Now get to work.
Okay.
I don't know who you think you are, but let's get things straight You came to me in a situation.
So you can act like this is an opportunity for me, but it's a favor to you.
No.
I'm doing you a favor by even acknowledging your existence.
You need to understand how this dynamic works, Harry Davis.
You approached me.
Did you see how quickly I got Ellis to do what I wanted? That's because I make things happen.
And if you could get your pouty head out of your own ass, you'd realize that tonight could be a game-changer for you.
Instead, you're wasting time whining about your meaningless issues.
What's going on in my life is not meaningless.
I don't care.
I just don't care.
I'm not your mommy.
I'm your agent.
And, yes, tonight is important to me.
And if you help me, I help you.
You understand? The husband, the wife, and you? Yes, father.
It's called a throuple.
Well, that's a kitschy little term.
Karen, you know that I'm open-minded about a good many things, but in a situation like this, there is only one thing to do.
What's that? Carry the child to term, then give it up for adoption.
I've never seen that as an option.
Well, it's the only one you have if you want to follow the teachings of the church.
I know it's difficult, but this child deserves a stable, loving family despite the unfortunate circumstances that brought it into the world.
"Unfortunate circumstances"? The relationship that you've found yourself in Husband and wife possibly divorcing now.
How would you raise a child amidst all that uncertainty? Shrouded in shame and secrecy or in some polyamorous attempt at a family if they decide to stay together? The fact that the couple chose to enter into a sinful relationship in the first place is evidence of their poor moral character.
How would you ever explain this situation to your child? With compassion, sensitivity, and patience The things I thought I'd get from you.
Karen, it was never my intention to offend you.
Well, you have, father.
And I don't care what your limited heart doesn't understand about my relationship with Alec and Vivian.
When this child asks, I'm going to tell him he was conceived in pure love, which is far more than a lot of kids can say about their parents.
You're letting your emotions get the best of you.
Thank freaking God.
Okay.
That's Calista Raines' house right up there.
Through those gates.
So, what are we looking for, exactly? The cops are convinced that Joss is guilty, placing her inside the house.
So why would they check the neighboring security cameras to see who went in and out? To be thorough? You'd like to think.
Unfortunately, they often build a narrative around the person they think who did it and ignore the rest.
Okay, I'm gonna send these to Mikey.
He'll knock on a few doors and follow up.
Why are you doing this for me? You know why.
Because you still feel guilty? Well, I feel guilty, too.
Cutting you out of my life like that, breaking up with you over the phone I should never have done it that way.
Well, thank you for saying that, but, really, it's it's fine.
April, I'm not here because I feel guilty.
I'm here because you're the love of my life.
Even in the fantasy, you couldn't have taken that job.
I could have.
Come on.
You think your husband would be okay with you working with your ex? He wouldn't have been my ex then.
He just still would have been my ex-brother-in-law.
Who kissed you once.
Shh.
Scott didn't know that.
Mm.
Hi, honey.
Hey, wifey.
You look amazing right now.
Oh.
Geez.
How'd the interview go? Oh, um, it was fine.
I don't think I'm gonna take it, though.
You're kidding.
Really? I mean, you were so excited about it.
Who was it with? Ellis Boone.
Ellis Boone? I know Ellis.
Yeah, he's a big deal, right? Yeah.
He ask you to take your clothes off? N No.
So, what was the gig? Well, it was basically to create and promote wunderbar after-hours.
I guess they want to make it like studio 54.
That's, like, right up your alley, okay? I mean, hell, you opened the place.
No one knows it better than you do.
You liked it there, didn't you? I always wondered, you know, why the hell you left in the first place.
Yeah, uh But clubs are tough, honey.
They come and go and Look, with those hours, if I took it, we'd never see each other.
We'd just be ships passing, so mm.
I would make sure that we'd collide, you know? I could come in.
I could hang out with you.
Mm-hmm.
Make some really late date nights.
It could be sexy.
You're so supportive.
Mm.
Well, at the end of the day, I want, you know, what you want.
I want you to be happy, so I sort of think you should take it.
What if I have a better idea? And what would that be? What if, um, hmm, I, uh I don't take my pill tonight? And we just see where that leads us instead, huh? Really? Mm-hmm.
I like that idea.
I want to explain briefly why the cat Hendricks foundation Giving funds to cancer patients in need Is so important to me.
My younger sister, Sharon, died of breast cancer a little over a year ago.
Sharon was the vision of health.
She was one of the most talented and ambitious people I've ever known.
She'd just finished medical school.
She went back in her late 20s after realizing that corporate finance wasn't her thing.
She wasn't a money monger like me.
Um, she'd just started her practice and gotten engaged to a wonderful fellow doctor when she was diagnosed.
After her 18th round of chemo and second unsuccessful surgery, I saw Sharon cry about cancer for the very first time.
I held her And told her I was sorry and asked what I could do.
"Get out my checkbook," she said.
I realized Sharon wasn't crying for herself.
She was crying for a fellow patient she'd met that day Carla.
Carla had stage 3 breast cancer and couldn't afford her treatments Not if she wanted to keep a roof over her kids' heads.
So my sweet Generous sister Took all of the money that she'd put away for the children that she would never have and she gave it to Carla so that she could at least have a chance.
Carla, will you please stand up? She would have been so happy to know that you made it.
She It's okay, Ari.
I can take it from here.
Thank you.
Many of you might not have lost someone to this disease, like my friend Ari has, but we all know what it's like to feel powerless when someone we love is in trouble or in pain.
And we'd give anything if there was just some damn way we could help.
Well, there is here tonight.
I know you've already been generous, but in honor of Sharon, who in her weakest moments dug deeper, I urge you to do the same, please.
Give more.
Thanks for the lift.
Is Lucy home? No.
How'd you make out? Like thieves, thanks to you.
What do I owe you 10%? Hey, thanks for covering for me.
I don't usually cry.
You should have told me about your sister.
I wouldn't have been such an ass.
I don't believe in bringing my personal life into my relationship.
Well, maybe you should, because for the first time, I saw you as someone I'd like to be in business with.
Your accent almost masked it, but that was vaguely insulting.
Anyway, thank you for pushing me to be a part of this.
Meant a lot to me and to my staff.
Hug? Oh, okay.
Night, Ari.
Good night.
What the hell am I doing? Hi.
Hey.
I've been calling you, but I never heard back.
Is everything okay? Fine.
Alec home? He's upstairs.
Come on in.
Good.
I have something I want to tell you both.
Okay.
I'll go get him.
Alec! Karen's here! Uh, is this lost and found? You know I left it on purpose just so I could see you again.
I-I can't.
There is no rush.
Whatever you need to make this work again.
It can't ever work.
Okay, listen.
I'm not sorry we made love, because if we hadn't, I would have thought for the rest of my life that you were the one that got away.
But when I found your phone after you left, I couldn't help myself, Daniel.
I started scrolling through your contacts and calls like a crazy person.
Yeah, but I don't care.
But I do Because I realized I will never be able to trust you again, no matter what you say, how you look at me, or if you jump on an airplane to help me with a friend at a moment's notice.
All right, but what about last night? Last night I Cheated on a great guy who cares about me with a guy who broke my heart.
Why didn't you tell me about him? Would it have mattered? I will always love you, Daniel.
But this is it.
This is goodbye.
Well Give this to Joss' lawyer.
I think it might help.
So, uh, yes, I would have been a knocked-up lady of leisure with Scott.
But instead, I am here in this delightful residence sharing a toilet with you and a cockroach.
So that's your story, huh? You really think that's how it would have played out? Babe, these are weird.
No, you look good.
You look you look really good.
Really? Mm.
All right.
I mean, you look you look good.
You look amazing.
Come here.
You know what? Just this candle has a frickin' tricky wick or something.
Well, you know, I feel like we don't really need it.
I mean, there's 37 other candles in the room.
We're probably fine without that one.
Oh, crap.
- Are we out of champagne? - We don't need champagne.
Wh of course we do.
I want everything to be perfect.
Sweetheart, just forget about the champagne.
It's fine.
Honey, this might be my last drink in nine months.
I want some champagne.
Where is my coat? Uh, babe It's fine.
I'll just I'll just run to the store super-quick, okay? You're really gonna leave right now? Just keep that bed nice and warm.
Excuse me.
Where's your champagne? You're an idiot.
Why? Because you've been going on and on about how you wouldn't be here hadn't you been to the beach that day If you'd made a different choice.
But even if you did Harry was always inevitable.
He was always gonna be my love, wasn't he? Yeah.
Hmm.
Well, doesn't matter now because I lost him and I lost my sister, lost Scott, I lost everyone.
So who's gonna save me now, huh? Guard: Carver.
You have a visitor.
You're gonna like this.
