Marvel's Avengers Assemble (2013) s03e13 Episode Script
Into the Future
1 IRON MAN: Status report.
Well, we're in the future, Thor got left behind, we destroyed our ride home, and Hulk hurt his arm.
(GROANS) My best punching arm.
And there's no way to get home without a portal.
So if Kang's the only one with access to the portals, we find Kang.
First, we have to find a more secure place to regroup.
Follow me.
BLACK WIDOW: What is that? I'm not sure, but I don't think it spotted us.
ELECTRONIC VOICE: Kang.
Kang.
Kang.
(ROARS) Kang.
Kang (GRUNTING) IRON MAN: Well, now the entire 30th century knows we're here.
I should take you out right now for destroying my ship.
But no one has given me a challenge in ages.
Then what are you waiting for, Kang? You can still serve a purpose.
Knowing that I have the Avengers on the run, it sets an example for the rebels.
Rebels? You needn't concern yourself with them.
You should be concerned about the trouble you're in.
You're the one in trouble, Kang.
(GRUNTS) (GRUNTS) What did you hit me with? (GRUNTS) He's taken over my weapons.
(GRUNTS) This is not gonna be good.
(KANG LAUGHING) If you're desperate to be destroyed, I'll have your dear friend, Tony Stark, do it for me.
(LAUGHING) Uh-oh.
Guys, you might wanna run.
Kang's got control of my armor.
Get out of the way! (GRUNTING) Tony, try to give us a little more warning.
Okay.
Another incoming.
(GRUNTING) Sorry.
My bad.
That's on me.
- Hawkeye, duck! - Now you tell me! Whoa! Tony, did you try the backup defense protocols? I'm locked out.
(GROWLS) (GRUNTS) Heads up! Whoa.
(GROANS) (HULK YELLING) Sorry, Hulk.
FALCON: I'll try to take out your weapons! Don't think it's gonna let you.
(YELLS) (GRUNTS) IRON MAN: Hulk, take cover.
I'm gonna smash Kang out of there! Falcon, try to hack into my admin control.
Reboot me.
I've disabled the operating system shock protocols.
If you can deliver a massive impact to his neural processing unit Right.
Like I said Smash! (GRUNTS) (POWERS DOWN) Thanks, Hulk.
Well, it looks like that fixed it.
For good.
Cap! (GRUNTS) - Do you see anyone else? - Must've gotten separated.
Iron Man, Falcon, Hawkeye? (STATIC BUZZING) Look.
It's Avengers Tower.
If we're going to rendezvous with the others, that seems like as good a place as any.
- All clear? - For now.
Although I don't like that Kang just disappeared.
Cap, Widow, Hawkeye (STATIC BUZZING) Anyone from the 21st century? I guess our satellites are long gone.
If I could tap into a power grid or hack whatever Kang's comm network is Hey, Tony, when you told us Avengers Tower was built to last until the end of time, I didn't actually believe you.
TONY: Hmm.
I remember it being a lot bigger.
If any of my tech has survived, I might be able to put together another suit.
Find a way to contact the others.
Hope the others are doing better than we are.
Iron Man? Cap? Anyone? (LOUD THUDDING) Please let that be Hulk.
(PANTING) I know it sounds strange to say this, but I get a sense of déjà vu here.
We're a thousand years in the future.
Isn't that a contradiction? CAPTAIN AMERICA: Hmm.
It's lifeless, like the cities that Hydra took over during the war.
I guess it's always bothered me that we never finished him off.
You can't keep reliving the past.
Gotta focus on what you can do now.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: What we can do now is keep moving.
We're being followed.
(GRUNTING) Who are you? Did Kang send you to find us? Nice stingers.
How do you know what they are? I think we're on the same side.
Then maybe you can explain this.
Hawkeye.
We had a little misunderstanding.
It's our Avengers Tower.
But look at this.
It's been made into a museum.
FALCON: Just like the one in our time.
Not quite.
They even moved my lab down here.
HULK: None of this stuff is the way it actually happened.
FALCON: Whoa.
Someone really went out of their way to make us look bad.
IRON MAN: Not to cut short the trip down revisionist memory lane, but we've got work to do.
Hulk, look for anything we can use.
Falcon and I will see what we can find down here.
(GRUNTS) Whoa.
Future me actually went and built the Omega armor.
(BEEPS) Maybe I can Nice! Thank you, me.
I've outdone myself this time.
And every time.
FALCON: Is that an arc reactor? IRON MAN: Something else I haven't invented yet.
It's almost like it recognizes you.
Looks like it's just a more advanced version of the one I have.
Tempting to take it home or just leave it here.
Learned my lesson on that one.
Think we can get some use out of it? Looks like it needs a few adjustments.
I'll work on it.
Ha! Seconds flat.
A thousand years later, and I still got it.
(POWERS UP) Sometimes I'm smarter than I look.
(BEEPING) Got the computers going, found myself a shiny new suit of armor, and I see Hulk found the first aid kit.
But not much else.
I don't like being here without Thor.
Hopefully, he's using whatever Asgardian portal magic tech he can to help us out from his end.
Is that Mjolnir? (GRUNTS) Whoever invades this sacred space shall prepare to meet their end.
Avengers assemble! Hey, that's our line! Identify yourselves, or suffer the consequen Nay.
It cannot be! Kind of looks like Thor.
Yeah, but a lot older.
I'm not sure what I'm seeing.
This is Kang's trickery.
(GRUNTS) Stand down.
(WOMAN) They're with us.
Nice to see you guys.
You could've called.
Believe me, we tried.
You're gonna wanna hear this.
Remember how Kang said he wanted to use us as an example? Layla here is one of the rebels he was trying to scare.
We're the last ones standing up to Kang.
Thor is our leader.
LAYLA: And these are the real Avengers.
The old guy's Thor? I am an Immortal and the only Avenger not long dead.
Although the years have taken a toll.
But this is a happy occasion.
It brings me renewed vigor to see you all again.
Especially my old smashing buddy.
(LAUGHS) Ha.
Take it easy there, Grandpa.
(LAUGHING) Now I lead the rebellion.
But we don't know how much longer we can hold out.
Cool.
You got it going.
I did some work on it, but I could never get it to power up for me.
I noticed some unfamiliar handiwork.
I'm impressed.
You've done a great job with your armor and weapons.
Thor taught us.
We've learned about the Avengers from this old museum.
It's an incredible honor to meet you.
There's something you should know about the exhibits.
We know.
It was designed by Kang to make the Avengers look bad.
But with Thor's help, we pieced together enough to know the truth.
Like how Falcon was the most brilliant tech genius of his time.
(FALCON CHUCKLES) We can catch up more later.
Right now, we have to find Kang.
It's not your fight.
IRON MAN: Actually, it is.
If we don't stop Kang here, he'll use his time portals to invade our world too.
(ALL GRUNTING) (KANG GROANING) Ah.
The rebels and the Avengers together.
Good.
I have some news.
My robot army is moving on the rebel bases as we speak.
No! Yes.
And finally, they'll put down the rebellion once and for all.
I've allowed you to live long enough.
My generosity ends now.
Avengers, fan out and take these mindless metal-heads down.
(ROARS) (GRUNTS) Rebels, let's show them what we've got.
(GRUNTS) BLACK WIDOW: Put more power into the flips.
You'll get more control.
(GRUNTING) You're right.
(LAUGHS) I'll give Tony Stark some credit.
No one after him ever developed a more efficient way to create massive amounts of energy.
With his arc reactor and my portal generator, I'll have access to all possible worlds, and I will rule them all.
(HULK ROARS) (GRUNTING) Where did Kang go? Little busy here trying not to get killed.
(GRUNTING) (GRUNTS AND GROANS) Gotta find Kang.
Now Earth will have one master forever Kang the Conqueror.
I'm not going to let that happen.
(GRUNTS) (GROANS) No! (BOTH GRUNTING) No! You won't interfere! (KANG SCREAMING) You're too late.
All worlds are already mine.
It's never too late.
(KANG GRUNTING) (BOTH GRUNTING) CAPTAIN AMERICA: Is that Are we really here? You fool.
The portal is operated by brain waves.
Your simple thoughts interfered with my settings.
(GRUNTS) Captain America! Whoo-hoo! Yeah! You're in my world now, Kang, and this is what real war is.
(YELLS) (YELLS) Any idea where Cap went? There were some energy readings consistent with a portal, but now it's gone.
And it was the same time Cap's signature disappeared.
He could be anywhere, or anytime.
Falcon, with me.
(GRUNTS) It's no use.
Kang's tech is too powerful.
No.
The one who's fighting for a cause they believe in is the most powerful.
(GRUNTS) (GRUNTS) What loyalty do you have to these men? CAPTAIN AMERICA: Duty, honor, integrity.
(GRUNTING) You may rule alone, but those of us fighting tyranny work as a team.
(RUMBLING) MAN: Incoming! MAN 2: Get down! KANG: I have fought a thousand wars.
I have seen every battle tactic there is.
Lesson one create a distraction.
This is between you and me, Kang.
(ALL GRUNT) There.
That should set things straight.
(GRUNTS) (BOTH GRUNTING) You're just like Hydra.
And they were just like all the tyrants before them.
They always fall.
Not the empire of Kang.
(GRUNTS) (GRUNTING) Time's up, Kang.
(KANG LAUGHING) You thought yourself clever in your primitive way, but only I understand how the portal generator works, and how we got here.
(FALLING BOMB WHISTLING) (SCREAMS) Thanks, flyboys.
(GRUNTS) I think I've got it.
You want primitive? Coming right up.
(SCREAMING) (GRUNTS) There's just us now, Kang.
There's no war here, no weapons to commandeer.
What you don't understand is that power will always find a way to survive.
It's the most basic, timeless, human drive there is, and anyone who doesn't crave it is weak.
There's another kind of power.
The power to stand up for what's right.
To fight for people who can't fight for themselves.
(KANG LAUGHING) You're not only primitive, but naive.
You'll learn when Hmm? (FOOTSTEPS THUDDING) What is that? Sounds like one of the locals is coming to register a complaint.
(ROARS) (BOTH GASP) (GROWLING) (GRUNTING) (GRUNTS) (SCREAMS) (GRUNTS) It took millions of years for you to find a world where you could best me.
So let's finish this now.
You're a thousand years more advanced than me.
You've forgotten more than I'll ever know about science and the universe.
But you never learned morality, empathy, humanity.
Humanity is Kang's to conquer.
(YELLS) (BOTH GRUNTING) (YELLING) (GRUNTS) You're not advanced, Kang.
You're nothing more than a savage.
It's you who will become a savage as soon as I leave you here alone.
(GRUNTS AND GROANS) (GROANS) CAPTAIN AMERICA: Only a coward thinks violence is a solution.
Hopefully someday you'll understand that.
(YELLING) Curse you, Avengers! But now, you've given me time.
All the time in the world.
(YELLS) (GRUNTS) (PANTING) The robots? IRON MAN: Just collapsed, depowered.
Whatever you did to Kang, his army no longer had a leader to follow.
By the way, where is Kang? I left him somewhere in the Jurassic period.
About 150 million years ago.
He's welcome to try to take over that world, but there was an Allosaurus who might have different ideas.
You had quite a ride.
How are you? I'm feeling good.
You know, I never got to destroy Hydra, but this seems like the next best thing.
I think this is our ticket home.
You have a lot of work ahead of you.
A whole society to rebuild.
We're up to it.
Hmm.
Maybe when you get time, you can fix the museum displays.
I got an image to think about.
As an Immortal, one gets used to losing friends.
But I've realized that even after you leave me today, you will never truly be gone.
How about coming back? Yeah, and scare the pants off our Thor.
That is a tempting offer, but this is where I belong.
There is much to do.
And seeing my old team together gives me hope for the future.
You know, I could hang onto this, study it.
Maybe if I CAPTAIN AMERICA: Tony.
No, you're right.
Let's go home.
What do you think's gonna happen? Think they'll make it work? Only time will tell.
THOR: My friends! I have been searching for a way to come to your aid.
Actually, you did.
We had some help from an old friend.
And enjoy your hair while you got it.
(LAUGHING) If there's one thing I will always have, it's my perfect hair.
HULK: Ha! Sure thing, baldy.
