Her Royal Spyness

I was a girl in the village doing all right Then I became a princess overnight Now I gotta figure out how to do it right So much to learn and see Up in the castle with my new family In a school that's just for royalty A whole enchanted world is waiting for me - I'm so excited to be - Sofia the first I'm finding out what being royal's all about Sofia the first Making my way, it's an adventure every day Sofia - It's gonna be my time - Sofia To show them all that I'm Sofia the first There's Dragonicus.
Now I'm going to find Castleopeia.
I don't believe it.
Well, it is possible, Sofia.
My new telescope lets me see things that are really far away.
No, not that.
It's these amazing creatures I'm reading about called sealians.
Oh.
What's so amazing about them? They're half-seal, so they can swim and flip, and do all sorts of seal stuff in water.
But sealians are also half-human, so they can walk on land.
Look.
Hmm.
"Sealian expert Professor Zacharias Fleeber says some people think sealians sing a magical song that puts people under a spell.
" A spell? Really? - That's what it says.
- Huh.
Now back to star gazing.
Oops! Huh? What's this? ( chuckles ) Silly Rex.
( laughing ) Oopsies! Oh, he scared the maids.
Watching the stars is fun, but watching people is even more fun.
Dinner is served, my ladies.
Come on, Amber.
Let's go.
Oh, all right.
And the book also said not much is known about sealians because they live on an island in the Stormy Triangle, this rainy part of the ocean that's really hard to sail through.
- Awesome! - Yes, indeed.
Now, since your father is in Tangu for the Tri-Kingdom Summit, it's the perfect time to discuss his birthday tomorrow.
Oh, I've already planned a fabulous party, complete with Daddy's favorite foods.
Spoiler alert! There'll be jiggly-wiggly pudding.
I've got a pretty special surprise up my sleeve, too.
I'd tell you, but it's a surprise.
I haven't got Dad anything for his birthday yet.
I have a hard time getting your father presents, too.
After all, he is the king.
But I'm sure he'll love anything you give him, Sofia.
May I be excused? I need to walk Rex.
Have you eaten your vegetables? Yup.
Every one.
They were dee-lish.
May I be excused, too? I can't wait to get back to my new telescope.
You may be excused.
Thank you, Mother.
Do you think I could see all the way to the Stormy Triangle with your telescope? Uh, let's find out.
( gasps ) Oh, well, well, well.
What do we have here? James is not walking Rex like he said he was.
He's not? What's he doing? He's dumping the vegetables he said he ate into the garden.
Why would he do that? Do I understand my brother's silly ways? No.
Would I make sure they get him in trouble? - Yes.
- Wait.
Amber! Amber, it might not be what it looks like.
I saw it through my telescope.
Aha! Aha what? I thought I heard voices.
What are you kids doing out at night? Unfortunately, Mother, I'm catching James in a lie.
He didn't eat his vegetables at dinner like he said, but instead, came out here and threw them away.
I did not.
I was just feeding these little guys.
- Bunnies.
- Cute, right? I found them earlier and wanted to bring them some food.
Oh.
Uh is that so? Sure is, and just so you know, these are extra veggies the chef gave me from the kitchen.
You almost got James in trouble when he was doing something nice.
Amber, your father and I got you that telescope to look at stars, not to watch people without them knowing it.
- That's called spying.
- I know.
And when you spy on something from far away, it can look a lot different than what's really going on.
I guess you're right.
I won't spy with my telescope anymore.
Unless I see something really interesting.
Amber.
Okay.
I promise not to do it again.
Ready for breakfast, Amber? You're not spying again, are you? I didn't mean to, Sofia.
I was putting away my telescope, and something caught my eye outside.
- I just had to get a closer look.
- Amber.
I think you should look, too.
I think I see a sealian.
- What? Where? - Right there.
Whoa! Doesn't it look just like the sealian in this picture? The same whiskers and shiny skin and everything.
But sealians live in the Stormy Triangle.
Why would one be here in Enchancia? ( blaring sound ) That must be BOTH: the sealian song.
What does it mean? "Some people think the sealians use an eerie song to put people under a spell, and lure them out to the Stormy Triangle, where they're never heard from again.
" There's someone walking toward the dock.
But can you see who it is? - ( gasps ) It's Mom! - What?! She's getting on the boat with the sealian.
The sealian must be luring her to the Stormy Triangle with its song.
We have to tell Dad.
But he's in Tangu, remember? Oh! Then we have to go after her ourselves.
Come on, Minimus.
You, too, Saffron.
Okay, yeah, where we goin'? Park, circus, Dunwiddie County Fair? I heard the kettle corn there is mighty tasty.
SOFIA: Yah! MINIMUS: Whoa! Guess she'll tell us on the way.
AMBER: Go, Saffron, go! Let's get to the harbor, Minimus.
The harbor? Are we gonna spend the day at the beach? Sweet jimmies, that sounds fun! Oh, Sofia, they've already left.
Come on.
We've got to save Mom from that sealian.
AMBER: They're probably headed for the Stormy Triangle.
Stormy Triangle? Sealian? This doesn't sound like the fun day I had in mind.
- Yah, Minimus! - Go, Saffron, go! I don't see that boat anywhere.
What do we do now? We have to keep looking.
Let's go this way.
AMBER: I'm soaked! There wasn't a cloud in the sky a minute ago.
We must be in the Stormy Triangle.
How long are these storms supposed to last? The book said they could be over quickly, or last for hours.
( thunder crashes ) Keep going, Mini! Oh, storm's over.
- Good flying, Minimus.
- Thanks.
Can we go home now? Sofia, look.
An island.
And there's someone on the beach.
Excuse me.
Hello.
Hello! Excuse me, sir.
Oh, wait.
That's better.
Yes, hello.
What brings you to this remote island? We're looking for a boat with our mother on it.
Have you seen any go by? Hm, boats, boats, boats.
Let me check.
Great galoshes, I see one! Oh, that's my boat, so that's not what you're looking for, is it? Is it? No.
A sealian took our mom on a boat much bigger than that.
Sealian? Did you say sealian? You said sealian, right? - Yes.
- Why? Because I, Professor Zacharias Fleeber, braved the journey to this island in the heart of the Stormy Triangle to study sealians up close and personal.
The Zacharias Fleeber? At your service.
I read about you in my book on mysterious creatures.
You're an expert on sealians.
Indeed I do.
I mean, I am.
Then maybe you could tell us where they might be taking our mom.
Maybe I could if I were really an expert on sealians.
But I thought The truth is that no one is really an expert on sealians.
They are so rare and hard to find that no one knows very much about them, including me.
Why, I've never even seen a sealian up close.
In fact, no one has.
Not me nor you nor you nor me.
Oh, I already counted myself.
So everything you said in that article was just Guesses, hunches, big number crunches.
That's why I'm here, to finally find out what sealians are really like.
What do they eat, how long do they sleep? Do they do jigsaw puzzles? No, probably not.
( sighs ) It's not easy being an expert on something you know nothing about.
People that that I'm the sealian mastermind Because I wrote so many books on them Since they live out here where the weather's so unkind I have never laid eyes upon them I wanna be a pro, learn all there is to know I wanna be an expert expert I wanna be top whiz I wanna ace the quiz I wanna be an expert expert I have made a list That's gotten pretty long Of questions I am hoping they'll answer Like what is going on when they sing their special song Is it some kind of magic entrancer Don't wanna be the guy pretending to know why I wanna be an expert expert I will seek and seek If it takes I wanna be an expert expert Uh, we'd like to help you out, but our mother's gone missing.
What if we join forces and look together? By gads, that's a great idea.
You've got flying horses, I got a telescope.
Together, we're sure to find your mother and the sealians.
I'll finally be an expert expert! I'm gonna be a pro, learn all there is to know I'm gonna be an expert expert I'm gonna be top whiz I'm gonna ace the quiz I'm gonna be an expert Sealian expert An expert Sealian expert Let's go.
You can ride with me, Professor.
Actually, factually, might be a bit squished on those steeds.
I'll take my boat.
You girls fly alongside.
Hm.
Every shell has a strange hole.
Curious.
Very curious.
Are you ready? Oh, yes.
Just let me pack a few supplies.
Let's see.
I may need this.
It's always good to have this.
Probably won't need this, but you never know.
Oh, this will be most handy.
All right, I'm ready.
Let's go.
Nothing.
We've looked everywhere, and nothing.
We haven't looked everywhere.
Really? Where haven't we looked? Wherever they are, of course.
My brain hurts.
Great Scott, I've got something! - Do you see our mom? - Alas, no.
But I think I see real live sealians.
Let's not get too excited.
They could be dolphins or a pod of whales, or they could be sealians! We must get closer.
Oh, a shiny coat.
Fluked tail.
Wiry whiskers.
Sealium humanus! - They are sealians! - Wow! Have you ever seen such fascinating creatures? Where's my notebook, my sketch pad? Professor! - Steady there, fella.
- Look at that.
Even more fascinating than I thought they were two seconds ago.
We have to follow them.
They might lead us to Mom.
- Yes, please.
- No, thank you.
They also might put us under the same spell.
We have to take that chance if we want to save Mom.
( thunder crashes ) Oh, no, the Stormy Triangle.
- Not again.
- Ah, crumbs.
( frustrated sigh ) This rain is too much.
Just hang on tight.
The rain's ruining my sealian sketch.
Or is it making them look even more fascinating? Maybe if we go in the same direction as the wind, we can fly out of the storm.
Okay.
Whoa, Minimus.
Is everyone all right? - Yes.
- Uh-huh.
- Just peachy.
- Not at all.
( gasps ) What on earth Girls? What are you doing out here? - Mom? - Mother! We're so glad we found you.
We thought that sealian was gonna take you away forever.
Sealian? What are you talking about? I saw it with my telescope.
A sealian lured you onto his boat.
I saw it, too.
Then we heard this strange sound, so we knew it put you under a spell.
( snapping fingers ) Are you okay? Do you know where you are? Amber, I am not under a spell.
That's probably the spell making her say that.
Who are you? Professor Zacharias Fleeber.
At your service, my lady.
Is it true? Have you recently had a close encounter - with a sealian? - ( laughs ) I don't know what you're talking about.
There it is.
Stay back! Relax, everyone.
This is no sealian.
Yes, girls, the professor's right.
Take a good look.
Wait.
You don't have shiny seal skin.
Or whiskers.
Nope.
Just a regular old mustache and rain slicker, I'm afraid.
Captain McIntosh has been giving me sailing lessons so I can surprise your father, and take him sailing for his birthday.
Sailing lessons? So nothing we saw through the telescope turned out to be what we thought it was? It's like I was telling you before.
When you spy on things from afar, they can look different from what they really are.
Your Majesty, I thought we'd wait till the storm passed to sail home, but with our sail torn, I'm afraid we're not going anywhere.
Maybe our horses can pull us.
The ship's too heavy for that.
Oh, if I just listened to you, Mom, we wouldn't be stuck out here.
I let my imagination run wild, too.
If we ever get home, I promise I will never spy again.
I won't either.
Never, ever.
( eerie sound ) - What was that? - Do we have to find out? Sealians! ( seal-like barking ) Oh, my! Stay back, girls.
I don't think they'll harm us.
We can't be sure.
What do you want from us? Hello, everyone.
How are we all doin'? How are we all doing? Don't be scared of us.
We're very friendly.
Sorry for jumping on your ship uninvited, but we were hoping you could help us get home.
Help you? How? Okay, so this is the situation.
We were out surfing this morning, and these big waves crashed on us.
Knocked our cocohorns right out of our hands.
Cocohorns? We sealians use these special coconut shells with holes in the top as horns.
Toot! And without your horns, you couldn't put people under spells.
Nah, that's just a rumor.
We don't put people under spells.
We use the horns to help each other find our way out of the rainstorms in the Stormy Triangle.
Like, hello! We're lost in the storm! Toot, toot, toot.
And then I'd be, like, Swim this way.
Toot, toot, toot.
But with no horns, no way home.
We've been swimming around for a while now.
We were getting a bit worried actually.
Wait a minute.
Did you say your cocohorns have holes? Mm-hmm.
Like a regular horn.
On the beach, you put some coconut shells in your bag, remember? I did? Oh, yes.
So I did.
There you are.
We found these on the island earlier.
Are these cocohorns? Yes, they are.
Wait.
Maybe you can help us get home, too.
- How? - You use your horns to get out of the rain, and we'll follow you.
- Yeah, we'd love to help.
- Good idea, Sofia.
But first, we're going to need to repair that sail.
Well, you're looking at a former shoemaker.
I think I can patch up a sail with this.
Looks good, Your Majesty.
Nice work, Mother.
All righty, everyone.
Just follow the sound of our horn.
We'll get you outta here.
( horns blowing ) Nothing's happening.
I don't hear anything.
( horns blowing in distance ) The other sealians are answering.
Oh, fascinating.
Outrageously fascinating.
That way.
( horns blowing ) ( horns blowing in response ) Hang on.
We're almost out of the storm.
Best news I've heard all day.
There they are.
Should I take notes or should I observe? Or should I observe and then take notes? - Dad! - Boys! Are we glad to see you.
I was so worried.
We've been looking for you all day.
- Who are they? - They helped us get home.
Yes, they did.
I mean, we did.
And if it's all right, sir, I'd like to study your ways so I can tell the world what you're really like.
These guys had some funny ideas about us, Dad.
Yeah, like we put people under spells with our cocohorns.
Where did they ever get that idea? We were just guessing.
Since no one ever came to the Stormy Triangle to see you sealians with their own eyes.
Well, we don't want people thinking strange things about us.
Perhaps you should stay with us for a while and tell our story.
Thank you.
My dream has come true! Now don't worry.
I won't get in your way at all.
Quick reflexes.
Fascinating.
Dad will be home soon, and we still have to sail through the Stormy Triangle.
We better get going.
( blowing horns ) Wait a minute.
Dad! I still need a present for his birthday.
Would it be okay if I took one of your cocohorns? I know he's just love one.
Here.
Something to remember us by.
Thanks.
Good-bye, girls.
Thank you! - Thanks for your help.
- Safe travels.
- Good-bye.
- Good luck with your research, Professor.
MIRANDA: Coming about! Just so you know, Sofia, you owe me a nice, relaxing day at the beach.
And a little kettle corn wouldn't hurt neither.
Well, I've got my pudding, I'm going on a sailing trip with my queen.
What more could a man want for his birthday? I'm hoping something like this.
It's a sealian's horn.
Is it now? Fantastic! I don't have anything like it.
You know what? That'll go real well with my gift.
I was gonna give you a private bagpipe concert, but we can make it a duet.
( bagpipes blast ) Do you know what that sounds like? What we thought was the sealian song this morning.
Boy, were we wrong.
( music continues )
