greatest natural wonders.
This is the finish line
for a race around the world,
where one team will step onto this mat
to become winners of the
world's most epic adventure
and claim a quarter
of a million dollars.
We've just arrived at the
international terminal
to start The Amazing Race!
Right now, 11 teams of 2 are making
their way to the race start line
in South Korea.
We're in Seoul, South Korea!
They come from all walks of life.
Will God make haste to help us. ♪
We're Missionaries of God's Love sisters
and we've known each other
for just over 20 years.
We do a lot of youth ministry.
We try and help young people
make a connection with God.
I think the other teams might
be a bit threatened by us
'cause we've got the
big fella on our side.
Mm-hm.
So excited!
On our way to the start line.
Sid and Ash, comin' in hot.
We're about to start The Amazing Race.
Nahhhh!
We're known each other since
we were, like, five years old.
I'm a psych nurse.
And I'm an emergency nurse.
It's really rewarding
because we can actually
help change lives

We definitely wouldn't trade it

Welcome to The Amazing Race Australia!
With a metropolitan population
of over 25 million people,
Seoul is the
fifth-largest megacity on the planet,
and it's the starting location for
The Amazing Race Australia.
We're standing now
in front of city hall,
smack bang in the heart of Seoul
for the start of what is gonna be
one hell of an epic global adventure.
And you're all here because
you believe you have what it takes
to win this race.
Tommy and Tyler,
our footy boys from Victoria.
Are you guys ready to race?
Yes. Yes, we are.
Yeah, yeah.
We've played footy together
for the last six, seven years.
We're perfectly suited for this race,
and I don't think
there's anyone that can beat us.
You guys seem pretty cocky.
Just a little.
Rowah and Amani, our fierce
mother and daughter duo.
Do you think you can win this race?
Yeah!
We've got this! We're gonna win!
Our advantage is we live
with each other,
we know each other,
so we get each other.
I hope you get each other.
I don't get my mum still,
but it's all good.
Deadly duo.
Who are you guys racing for?
We're racing on behalf of our mob
in Australia.
We want to show what
Indigenous excellence can look like.
We're so keen for our son
to be really proud
about how we represented ourselves
and our culture and our family.
Alright.
Your first clue is on top
of your backpacks over there.
- Are you ready?
- Yes!
Are you ready?!
YES!
Good luck. Race hard.
Race safe.
Three, two, one!
Go!
On the right, on the right.
Come on, Amani. Let's go.
Oh, Jesus.
First clue. Here we go.
Make your way to the top of Seoul
at Namsan Tower.
Reach the tower observatory
and search the city below
for your next destination.
For their very first challenge
in The Amazing Race Australia,
teams must take a taxi
to iconic Namsan Tower.
At 236 metres tall,
the tower has unparalleled
360 degree views
across the city of Seoul,
where teams will search
for their next clue.
The team's only cash for this leg
will be loaded
onto a BankWest Halo ring.
Alright, let's go.
What's it called?
Wanton tower.
Gonna go. We're gonna get a taxi.
Yep! Taxi!
Taxi!
Yep! Hello!
Yeah, this is ours, surely.
Down here, Hayley! Let's go!
You hop in and tell them where to go.
Alrighty.
Dammit.
Namsan. Do you know?
Yeah. I know.
Go, go.
Go, go, go, go.
I think we stole that taxi.
I think we stole the boys' taxi.
Oh, far out.
We're like, "Oops! Sorry."
First in, best dressed.
Too much traffic.
We come from a small town in Australia.
Not much traffic at all.
We got this!
Yiew!
Hang on!
Growing up in North Queensland,
we really appreciate the outdoors
and we were taught to appreciate
the simple things in life.
We're not just sisters,
we're best mates as well
and that's why we're here together.
We're competitive with each other,
but we're also competitive
with other people.
We stole the boys' taxi.
They'll be right.
They'll be OK.
Namsan Tower?
We've got, um, one team in front of us.
One team took our taxi,
but that's part of the game.
That's alright.
I'm sure we'll get them back later.
Namsan. Yeah, Namsan.
Yeah!
We're on our way to Namsan Tower.
"Num. Numsan"
"Numsan" N Tower.
N Tower. That's what the locals
call it, is it? N Tower.
This is awesome!
We are in The Amazing Race
and we're not last.
Hey, taxi! Taxi!
No.
Ah, there's something there.
Please! Ugh.
We're just trying to find a taxi.
The first one and we can't find it.
We think that other teams
will underestimate us
because we are the little kids.
Niko's only 19.
Yeah, I'm still a teenager.
I am only 21.
Please!
Taxi!
Oh. Oh.
We're the babies of our family,
as well.
We come from a big Greek family.
Oh, no! There's someone in there!
Oh, what?
You know, we're little and we're young,
but we can win against
all these other people.
I think we'll show them that,
"OK, We can't treat them
like little kids anymore."
We can't find a taxi.
I think all the other teams
have left as well.
This is it. Namsan Tower.
Excuse me, excuse me, excuse me.
Can we get to the tower observatory?
You know where you're going?
Tower entrance.
We have to go to
the observatory deck
That way! That way! That way!
Entrance! This way! This way!
Observatory deck.
Hey, Joey.
So we started talking to Tom and Tyler.
We were the first two teams.
We're all from Melbourne.
Do I sense a little alliance coming on?
Do you guys want to work
together for the leg?
Let's do it. Team Melbourne.
Let's do it.
Let's do it, guys.
We're in front, anyway.
Hey, don't leave him hanging!
Gotta do that again.
We're definitely hoping
to make alliances.
Here we go!
Let's go.
Melbourne.
If we help other people out,
they'll be more likely to
help us out later down the track.
100%.
Let's do it!
Let's do it.
Once they've reached
the observation deck,
teams must search the city
below for yellow and red race flags
which mark their next location.
You with me?
Huh?
You with me?
Pushy.
Whoa. This is high high.
"Search the city below
for your next destination."
When we got up to
the observatory tower,
we knew that we needed to
search the city.
Maybe there's a flag somewhere?
What was the hint again?
"Search the city
for your next destination."
We're trying to find
our next destination
somewhere below the city, possibly.
I don't think I've ever waited
for a cab that long, like, ever.
Look, it starts off hard
and it'll only get easier.
OK.
Oh!
Oh, no!
Alright. Thank you.
Observation deck here.
To the top!
Oh, my God!
It's here. It's up here somewhere.
What do you mean?
It's up here.
We're looking for
the observatory tower.
Let's have a look up here.
It's gonna be quite obvious.
Just keep moving.
Our strategy going into
the first leg of the race
is to read the clue
Completely.
..and try not to make mistakes.
"Reach the Tower Observatory
"and search the city below
for your next destination.
So we decided to just run
all the way down.
Just straight down the steps
Down this way?
Yep.
Yep, alright. Let's go.
Let's see if anything says observatory.
Alright. Oh, my God.
I'm so hot!
Our lifestyle is quite lavish.
Myself and Sid are content creators,
so I'm kind of like his
Insta model, I guess?
We get to travel all over the world.
We're doing things that, you know,
most people don't get
to do in a lifetime.
I think this race is for
us to lose, to be honest.
I mean, everything we do in our lives
..we are the best at.
What was the next clue, again?
Reach the tower observatory
and search the city below.
These are the stairs?
I don't know.
I kept saying to Sid,
like, this is not right
because the observatory has to be up.
You want to go back up?
No, no, no.
If you're not gonna make
a decision on it
Sid, please don't speak to me like that.
Maybe we've got to find something there
with Amazing Race flags
out there somewhere.
There's nothing obvious
red and yellow anywhere.
After finding the race flags,
teams must find a
postcard in the gift shop
that matches the location,
with the address on the back.
Then teams will run down the
hundreds of stairs from that tower
and make their way here,
to the Stone Time capsule,
which celebrates 600 years since
Seoul became the capital city.
They need to locate a message
from the people of Australia
on a stone tablet,
and underneath it will
be their next clue.
- Can you see any, Mik?
- No.
Just look everywhere.
- Hayley!
- Yep.
Hayley, come on!
We found the flag downstairs,
leading us to this.
So we're going to go to the bottom.
They found it. It's in one of those.
Yep.
Once there, you'll find
a written message from home
and your next clue.
Really, we had no idea
what the clue was.
We copped a look at Hayley
and Mikala's postcard,
so we went and grabbed the same one.
So we gotta go there.
Gotta go there.
Right.
Oh, that's where we gotta go.
Let's go.
Quick, quick, quick!
We've gotta get on that lift!
Can we go in front?
Thank you.
Just jump in. Jump in.
Hey, hey, hey, hey.
Sorry.
Good work, guys.
The girls are so salty.
Yeah, well, they were
Someone just pushed in!
We were first.
We found this clue
and everyone else copied us,
and then they pushed in line!
Ultimately, The Amazing Race is a game,
so if they do something bad to us,
they better watch out.
Yeah.
It's going to be quite obvious.
Just keep moving.
Ash, read the clue.
Reach the tower observatory
and search the city below
for your next destination.
We have to be up somewhere.
Yeah.
I think we might need to go back up.
OK.
Alright.
That mistake cost us
a huge amount of time.
At least an hour.
If we do get slowed down
by our own mistakes,
we're just gonna have to bring
other people down with us.
Someone's going to have to pay for it.
There's no limits to what we'll do,
I guess.
We had to search the city below
for our next destination,
so thinking that we've got to
look out these windows
and search for some type of sign.
Oh, there it is. That's it.
That's it, that's it, that's it.
We need to find the postcard
that looks like that place.
Oh, yes. Yes.
I'm thinking that's what it is.
Yes, yes.
Probably right in front of us.
Then help me look!
Keep looking, Amani! Help me look!
This is where we've gotta go.
This is where the flag is.
We saw the flag and
We've been partners
and married for 20
Get it right.
Partners and married for 30 years now.
Come on! Are you with me?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think other teams will think
we're just a couple old farts,
that we're not really a threat to them.
I've been a firefighter for 30 years
and when I started,
I was the only female firefighter
in South Australia.
Never met another woman like it.
Adrienne will never give up.
And she knows I'll never give up.
We will finish this race.
There's no doubt there.
This would a great training run
if you want to train uphill.
Yeah? Really?
Well, I maybe not for you. For me.
What are these girls doing?
What are you doing?
We're gonna try
and slow everyone down
because we're going to take a while
to get back up to
the observatory tower.
No, I don't trust them.
I don't trust them.
They weren't ever up there.
We don't really care
what other teams think of us.
We're 100% here to win.
Maybe Sid and Ash
weren't telling us the truth.
We don't know yet.
Let's go.
There we go. Just in here. The big
red and yellow flags might be it.
The hint was a message from home.
Looking for anything that has
something to do with Australia.
Got it?
Yeah.
Far out. Hold that.
Oh, my God.
They don't teach you how to rip 'em
when they do the Amazing Race tutorial.
Road block.
A road block is a challenge
that only one team member can perform.
Who's ready for Riverdance?
Yep. I'll do it.
In this road block,
one member from each team
must find their inner daredevil
and attempt to master the extreme art
of flyboarding.
Now, professionals can reach
heights of up to 15 metres.
Our flyboarders need to get
two metres out of the water
for them to receive their next clue.
Looks pretty easy, right?
Whoa!
Bottom of this cement thing.
Go down there and run around.
It's time to go flyboarding
in the Han River.
Stay in control and lift yourself
at least two vertical meters
out of the water
to earn your next clue.
That's so dope.
Surely I can do this.
Physically, we're the most fit team.
We've played a lot of footy.
I think all the challenges
that are more based around sports,
we should thrive in.
If I can't get two metres in the air,
I will let you shoot me.
And I will berate him.
Do you see it? Is it there?
Yeah.
Road block. Who's ready for
a river dance?
I'll do it.
Yeah, I'm gonna
do the road block today.
It's time to go flyboarding!
This postcard is not one
that they sell here
and on the back, it has the address.
They told us that this isn't theirs.
We found a postcard with Tower L.
We were thinking, "Is that it?
Is that postcard it?"
Ohh. Ask them what that says.
What does this one say?
Lana, Lana, Lana, Lana.
OK, OK.
We need it Wait, we need to ask
someone where that is.
I find this postcard,
and it's exactly the same card
as what we saw the nuns holding.
Anyone speak English and Korean?
Can you translate this?
Oh, there!
Oh, the big the tallest?
The tallest one?
We thought, "Boom! That's it!"
Alright, let's go.
Should we ask someone else,
just in case?
No, we can just ask someone downstairs.
OK, OK, OK. Alright.
Big tall tower in Korea.
Yeah, yeah. Perfect!
Is that it?
Yeah.
Are you sure?
No, I'm not.
Let's just stop and pray.
Oh, Jesus, we are stuck.
We don't know how to read this clue
and figure out what will happen next.
We ask for your inspiration.
Two tickets to the tower, please.
Literally dripping with sweat.
Search the city below, Sid.
It's there. It's right there.
Is that it, though?
Yes.
This. This, this, this.
That's what it is.
Help us figure this out, God.
Come on.
Help us to get to read it properly.
Search the city below,
which is out there.
Is that an amazing race symbol
down there, next to that?
Oh! Yes, it is!
Red and yellow.
It's it! Come on, let's go.
I'm so glad to get out of
the observation tower!
Here we go, here we go.
On here. Australia.
Road block.
Road block.
Who's ready for a river dance?
I'll do it?
Yeah.
I'll do it?
You do it.
It's time to go flyboarding
in the Han River.
- Do you want to do it?
- I'll do it.
Lift yourself at least two vertical
metres out of the water
to earn your next clue.
Let's do it, baby!
Whoo!
Oh, my God. I
think I know what it is.
What is it?
You know those electronic
things, where it's like
- Ohh! God, I hope not!
- ..you've gotta stay up.
Oh, my
Oh, no way.
You're going to fall in a lot of times,
'cause you dancing, so
you're gonna be like this.
Ai, ai, ai.
- I've gotta fly.
- Huh!
Two metres is a long way, though.
It's not.
Two metres out of the water, vertically?
We're not talking horizontally.
Let's go. First ones here.
- Let's do it.
- Whoo!
- Yeah, Ty!
- Sounds pretty simple.
Just balance. All I've
gotta do is balance.
Easy.
Yeah, no, I don't think
he's done this before,
but he's a coordinated fella.
Come on, Ty!
Three, two, one. Go.
Get up there!
What are they doing?
Yeah, Ty!
Yes! Yes!
Nope.
Still no other teams here, though.
There we go. There they are.
Oh, just as I say that, here they come.
Yeah. Two metres is, like,
three times my height,
so we'll see how we go.
You got this, Joey!
Oh, God.
Ugh!
I'm a bit nervous!
Go, Mikky!
Go, Ty!
A bit more! A bit more!
Can't get him up there.
I think he's too fat.
I think the big fella's
had too many burgers.
OK. Let's search that area.
The people of Sydney
joined people with Seoul
in celebrating Seoul's 600 anniversary.
We have to join with these people.
One of these guys has got the clue.
- Do you reckon?
- Yes.
- It's not here.
- I don't think they do.
Do you have a clue?
One of these guys has got the clue.
- Do you reckon?
- Yes.
Someone here.
I don't think they do.
Do you have a clue?
- No? OK, all good. Sorry, mate.
- They don't.
Read the thing again,
read the thing again.
- The people of
- Where is
- Whoa!
- OK.
Oh, my God!
What is wrong with us?!
- So it's a Roadblock.
- Nice.
"Who's ready for a river dance?"
- I think you take it.
- Alright, I'll take it, I'll take it.
You.
Time to go flyboarding.
You're gonna be the Flying Nun.
Sort of like the first time
I levitated.
I'm so sorry!
I'm glad we didn't go to Tower L.
Let's hope that another team
has gone to Tower L.
- We're going to
- I think we're going to
- It's a really
- ..a big tower.
It's a really big tower.
It was, like, kind of in the distance.
If we just have a sneaky
look at the sisters,
- who were holding this bad boy
- Yeah, we saw that.
- Like, hmm, OK.
- Now we know what to do.
- Yeah.
- Now we know what this race takes.
- At the start, we were a bit
- We got what it takes.
Yeah, Ty!
He's looking alright. He's up there.
He needs to get two
metres up there, though,
and right now he's probably halfway.
Go, Ty!
That's two!
Yes!
Two metres. Nailed it. Yes, Ty!
- Thank you.
- Thank you.
Thanks.
Detour.
A Detour is a choice
between two challenges,
each with its own pros and cons.
In this Detour, teams
must choose between
Fold 'Em Fast and Stack 'Em High.
In Fold 'Em Fast, teams
will find this restaurant
in Seoul's Gwangjang Market
and learn the intricate
art of folding dumplings.
Each team must make 50 filled dumplings
and present them to the dumpling master,
who will inspect and reject any
that don't meet his standards.
Once satisfied, he'll give
them their next clue.
Or head to Hanyang University gym
and attempt the weird but
wonderful sport of cup stacking.
Each team member must
stack then unstack 12 cups
in eight seconds or less.
This is Si Eun.
She's the world record holder
and she can do it in
less than two seconds.
Yes! World record!
Yeah, Si Eun! Yes!
- That's a sport.
- Yeah. Alright.
- Do you wanna do that?
- Yeah.
We're gonna do Stack 'Em.
Have you done that cup stacking thing?
Nah, but I just figured if it's
a sport, surely we can do it.
Yeah. Yeah, we should be right.
All we've gotta do is stack some
- Yeah.
- ..cups.
Famous last words.
The clue's with the message
from home. The message from home
Yeah, but we're looking
for a message from home.
- Oh, dear.
- Well, let's go around there.
'Cause we went through
I mean, I don't know if that helps.
Didn't we just
We literally just went
around there before.
Imagine if we followed, like,
the completely wrong clue.
But that would be it, right?
Everyone else is holding that.
Slowly dawns on us that we
had the wrong postcard.
Shit. We're in the wrong spot.
- I honestly think we have to go back
- There's nothing else to do.
..and get another postcard.
- Oh, my God.
- Yeah.
Let's go.
Alright. We need to go back,
- back to the tower.
- Namsan tower?
- Where we just were. We need to go back.
- Yeah.
It's a horrible feeling knowing
that you've driven one hour
all the way to this tower,
it's just not even part of the clue,
and then you have to
drive a whole hour back.
Come on.
It was a lot harder than it looked.
I got smacked around the water
multiple times.
Oh, this!
Oh, yeah, that's a pretty hard skill.
Looking hot, babe!
You got it, Tim! Yeeow!
That looks hard.
Good work, Mikki!
Yes, Joey! Yes! Whoo!
- Is that a pass?
- Yeah!
- Yes! - Think that might've
been a pass. Good work.
That was so hard.
Good work, Mikki!
- That's it!
- Go, Mikki! Whoo!
Hold it, hold it!
Go, Nicky.
You're getting better each
time, Tim. You got it.
Your butt looks good.
Detour.
Stack 'Em High or Fold 'Em Fast.
- We're gonna do Stack 'Em High.
- We're gonna Stack 'Em High.
- Stack 'Em High.
- Stack 'Em High.
"Both of you must properly stack
your cups within the time limit
"to receive your next clue."
For the Detour, we're
gonna go Fold 'Em Fast.
We're filling 50 dumplings
to the cook's satisfaction.
The only person I would want
to be doing this with is you.
- I feel the same way.
- I love you.
I love you more.
The second we laid eyes on
each other, we were in love.
I went in to my housemate at the time
and said, "I think I
just met my husband."
Yes!
If us being on this race can inspire
people just to be themselves,
we've honestly won
- Yeah. We're winners already.
- ..to be honest. Yeah.
What are dumplings?
Those things we ate the other day.
Ohh.
But the other challenge was stack cups,
and I figured that's
just gonna end messily.
Thanks, Terry.
Let's do it.
Yes! Here we go. Here we go.
We've got this. We've got
this. How hard can it be?
It's a couple of cups.
Oh, my God.
- Oh, my
- Did it in two seconds!
- Can we see can you do one more?
- One more?
- Alright. Do you wanna give it a go?
- Yeah, alright.
- So, we go left on top
- Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang
Ohh. Far out. I've stuffed that one.
Eight seconds! Are you kidding?
We can do it. We can
do it, we can do it.
So, we've gotta find that
restaurant. Go, mate, go, mate.
Tim!
Who do we ask?
- Is that it?
- Yeah.
There's a marker right there.
- Hello.
- Hello.
Thank you.
This is the demonstration.
OK, so, are you watching?
I've literally never made
dumplings in my life,
and here we were making 50 of them.
We've gotta roll We'll
do two big sausages each.
This is making me hungry.
So, we've definitely gotta do 50, eh?
Yep.
- This good?
- OK!
We have 49 dumplings to make.
Let's go, Jas!
Don't give up. Keep going, keep working.
- I passed!
- Oh!
Yes!
Alright, let's do the Fold 'Em Fast.
- The dumplings?
- Yeah.
Yeah, yeah! Come on!
Stay straight! Balance!
Nice!
Keep it there. Come on!
Stay, stay, stay!
Ohh.
But I think she'll get up.
She's got good core strength.
She does CrossFit.
Personal trainer.
I think we're going
to surprise people.
We are Muslim women and we
couldn't be more proud.
We want to show people it doesn't

I'm so hot!
Our lifestyle is quite lavish.
Myself and Sid are content creators,
so I'm kind of like his
Insta model, I guess?
We get to travel all over the world.
We're doing things that, you know,
most people don't get
to do in a lifetime.
I think this race is for
us to lose, to be honest.
I mean, everything we do in our lives
..we are the best at.
What was the next clue, again?
Reach the tower observatory
and search the city below.
These are the stairs?
I don't know.
I kept saying to Sid,
like, this is not right
because the observatory has to be up.
You want to go back up?
No, no, no.
If you're not gonna make
a decision on it
Sid, please don't speak to me like that.
Maybe we've got to find something there
with Amazing Race flags
out there somewhere.
There's nothing obvious
red and yellow anywhere.
After finding the race flags,
teams must find a
postcard in the gift shop
that matches the location,
with the address on the back.
Then teams will run down the
hundreds of stairs from that tower
and make their way here,
to the Stone Time capsule,
which celebrates 600 years since
Seoul became the capital city.
They need to locate a message
from the people of Australia
on a stone tablet,
and underneath it will
be their next clue.
- Can you see any, Mik?
- No.
Just look everywhere.
- Hayley!
- Yep.
Hayley, come on!
We found the flag downstairs,
leading us to this.
So we're going to go to the bottom.
They found it. It's in one of those.
Yep.
Once there, you'll find
a written message from home
and your next clue.
Really, we had no idea
what the clue was.
We copped a look at Hayley
and Mikala's postcard,
so we went and grabbed the same one.
So we gotta go there.
Gotta go there.
Right.
Oh, that's where we gotta go.
Let's go.
Quick, quick, quick!
We've gotta get on that lift!
Can we go in front?
Thank you.
Just jump in. Jump in.
Hey, hey, hey, hey.
Sorry.
Good work, guys.
The girls are so salty.
Yeah, well, they were
Someone just pushed in!
We were first.
We found this clue
and everyone else copied us,
and then they pushed in line!
Ultimately, The Amazing Race is a game,
so if they do something bad to us,
they better watch out.
Yeah.
It's going to be quite obvious.
Just keep moving.
Ash, read the clue.
Reach the tower observatory
and search the city below
for your next destination.
We have to be up somewhere.
Yeah.
I think we might need to go back up.
OK.
Alright.
That mistake cost us
a huge amount of time.
At least an hour.
If we do get slowed down
by our own mistakes,
we're just gonna have to bring
other people down with us.
Someone's going to have to pay for it.
There's no limits to what we'll do,
I guess.
We had to search the city below
for our next destination,
so thinking that we've got to
look out these windows
and search for some type of sign.
Oh, there it is. That's it.
That's it, that's it, that's it.
We need to find the postcard
that looks like that place.
Oh, yes. Yes.
I'm thinking that's what it is.
Yes, yes.
Probably right in front of us.
Then help me look!
Keep looking, Amani! Help me look!
This is where we've gotta go.
This is where the flag is.
We saw the flag and
We've been partners
and married for 20
Get it right.
Partners and married for 30 years now.
Come on! Are you with me?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think other teams will think
we're just a couple old farts,
that we're not really a threat to them.
I've been a firefighter for 30 years
and when I started,
I was the only female firefighter
in South Australia.
Never met another woman like it.
Adrienne will never give up.
And she knows I'll never give up.
We will finish this race.
There's no doubt there.
This would a great training run
if you want to train uphill.
Yeah? Really?
Well, I maybe not for you. For me.
What are these girls doing?
What are you doing?
We're gonna try
and slow everyone down
because we're going to take a while
to get back up to
the observatory tower.
No, I don't trust them.
I don't trust them.
They weren't ever up there.
We don't really care
what other teams think of us.
We're 100% here to win.
Maybe Sid and Ash
weren't telling us the truth.
We don't know yet.
Let's go.
There we go. Just in here. The big
red and yellow flags might be it.
The hint was a message from home.
Looking for anything that has
something to do with Australia.
Got it?
Yeah.
Far out. Hold that.
Oh, my God.
They don't teach you how to rip 'em
when they do the Amazing Race tutorial.
Road block.
A road block is a challenge
that only one team member can perform.
Who's ready for Riverdance?
Yep. I'll do it.
In this road block,
one member from each team
must find their inner daredevil
and attempt to master the extreme art
of flyboarding.
Now, professionals can reach
heights of up to 15 metres.
Our flyboarders need to get
two metres out of the water
for them to receive their next clue.
Looks pretty easy, right?
Whoa!
Bottom of this cement thing.
Go down there and run around.
It's time to go flyboarding
in the Han River.
Stay in control and lift yourself
at least two vertical meters
out of the water
to earn your next clue.
That's so dope.
Surely I can do this.
Physically, we're the most fit team.
We've played a lot of footy.
I think all the challenges
that are more based around sports,
we should thrive in.
If I can't get two metres in the air,
I will let you shoot me.
And I will berate him.
Do you see it? Is it there?
Yeah.
Road block. Who's ready for
a river dance?
I'll do it.
Yeah, I'm gonna
do the road block today.
It's time to go flyboarding!
This postcard is not one
that they sell here
and on the back, it has the address.
They told us that this isn't theirs.
We found a postcard with Tower L.
We were thinking, "Is that it?
Is that postcard it?"
Ohh. Ask them what that says.
What does this one say?
Lana, Lana, Lana, Lana.
OK, OK.
We need it Wait, we need to ask
someone where that is.
I find this postcard,
and it's exactly the same card
as what we saw the nuns holding.
Anyone speak English and Korean?
Can you translate this?
Oh, there!
Oh, the big the tallest?
The tallest one?
We thought, "Boom! That's it!"
Alright, let's go.
Should we ask someone else,
just in case?
No, we can just ask someone downstairs.
OK, OK, OK. Alright.
Big tall tower in Korea.
Yeah, yeah. Perfect!
Is that it?
Yeah.
Are you sure?
No, I'm not.
Let's just stop and pray.
Oh, Jesus, we are stuck.
We don't know how to read this clue
and figure out what will happen next.
We ask for your inspiration.
Two tickets to the tower, please.
Literally dripping with sweat.
Search the city below, Sid.
It's there. It's right there.
Is that it, though?
Yes.
This. This, this, this.
That's what it is.
Help us figure this out, God.
Come on.
Help us to get to read it properly.
Search the city below,
which is out there.
Is that an amazing race symbol
down there, next to that?
Oh! Yes, it is!
Red and yellow.
It's it! Come on, let's go.
I'm so glad to get out of
the observation tower!
Here we go, here we go.
On here. Australia.
Road block.
Road block.
Who's ready for a river dance?
I'll do it?
Yeah.
I'll do it?
You do it.
It's time to go flyboarding
in the Han River.
- Do you want to do it?
- I'll do it.
Lift yourself at least two vertical
metres out of the water
to earn your next clue.
Let's do it, baby!
Whoo!
Oh, my God. I
think I know what it is.
What is it?
You know those electronic
things, where it's like
- Ohh! God, I hope not!
- ..you've gotta stay up.
Oh, my
Oh, no way.
You're going to fall in a lot of times,
'cause you dancing, so
you're gonna be like this.
Ai, ai, ai.
- I've gotta fly.
- Huh!
Two metres is a long way, though.
It's not.
Two metres out of the water, vertically?
We're not talking horizontally.
Let's go. First ones here.
- Let's do it.
- Whoo!
- Yeah, Ty!
- Sounds pretty simple.
Just balance. All I've
gotta do is balance.
Easy.
Yeah, no, I don't think
he's done this before,
but he's a coordinated fella.
Come on, Ty!
Three, two, one. Go.
Get up there!
What are they doing?
Yeah, Ty!
Yes! Yes!
Nope.
Still no other teams here, though.
There we go. There they are.
Oh, just as I say that, here they come.
Yeah. Two metres is, like,
three times my height,
so we'll see how we go.
You got this, Joey!
Oh, God.
Ugh!
I'm a bit nervous!
Go, Mikky!
Go, Ty!
A bit more! A bit more!
Can't get him up there.
I think he's too fat.
I think the big fella's
had too many burgers.
OK. Let's search that area.
The people of Sydney
joined people with Seoul
in celebrating Seoul's 600 anniversary.
We have to join with these people.
One of these guys has got the clue.
- Do you reckon?
- Yes.
- It's not here.
- I don't think they do.
Do you have a clue?
One of these guys has got the clue.
- Do you reckon?
- Yes.
Someone here.
I don't think they do.
Do you have a clue?
- No? OK, all good. Sorry, mate.
- They don't.
Read the thing again,
read the thing again.
- The people of
- Where is
- Whoa!
- OK.
Oh, my God!
What is wrong with us?!
- So it's a Roadblock.
- Nice.
"Who's ready for a river dance?"
- I think you take it.
- Alright, I'll take it, I'll take it.
You.
Time to go flyboarding.
You're gonna be the Flying Nun.
Sort of like the first time
I levitated.
I'm so sorry!
I'm glad we didn't go to Tower L.
Let's hope that another team
has gone to Tower L.
- We're going to
- I think we're going to
- It's a really
- ..a big tower.
It's a really big tower.
It was, like, kind of in the distance.
If we just have a sneaky
look at the sisters,
- who were holding this bad boy
- Yeah, we saw that.
- Like, hmm, OK.
- Now we know what to do.
- Yeah.
- Now we know what this race takes.
- At the start, we were a bit
- We got what it takes.
Yeah, Ty!
He's looking alright. He's up there.
He needs to get two
metres up there, though,
and right now he's probably halfway.
Go, Ty!
That's two!
Yes!
Two metres. Nailed it. Yes, Ty!
- Thank you.
- Thank you.
Thanks.
Detour.
A Detour is a choice
between two challenges,
each with its own pros and cons.
In this Detour, teams
must choose between
Fold 'Em Fast and Stack 'Em High.
In Fold 'Em Fast, teams
will find this restaurant
in Seoul's Gwangjang Market
and learn the intricate
art of folding dumplings.
Each team must make 50 filled dumplings
and present them to the dumpling master,
who will inspect and reject any
that don't meet his standards.
Once satisfied, he'll give
them their next clue.
Or head to Hanyang University gym
and attempt the weird but
wonderful sport of cup stacking.
Each team member must
stack then unstack 12 cups
in eight seconds or less.
This is Si Eun.
She's the world record holder
and she can do it in
less than two seconds.
Yes! World record!
Yeah, Si Eun! Yes!
- That's a sport.
- Yeah. Alright.
- Do you wanna do that?
- Yeah.
We're gonna do Stack 'Em.
Have you done that cup stacking thing?
Nah, but I just figured if it's
a sport, surely we can do it.
Yeah. Yeah, we should be right.
All we've gotta do is stack some
- Yeah.
- ..cups.
Famous last words.
The clue's with the message
from home. The message from home
Yeah, but we're looking
for a message from home.
- Oh, dear.
- Well, let's go around there.
'Cause we went through
I mean, I don't know if that helps.
Didn't we just
We literally just went
around there before.
Imagine if we followed, like,
the completely wrong clue.
But that would be it, right?
Everyone else is holding that.
Slowly dawns on us that we
had the wrong postcard.
Shit. We're in the wrong spot.
- I honestly think we have to go back
- There's nothing else to do.
..and get another postcard.
- Oh, my God.
- Yeah.
Let's go.
Alright. We need to go back,
- back to the tower.
- Namsan tower?
- Where we just were. We need to go back.
- Yeah.
It's a horrible feeling knowing
that you've driven one hour
all the way to this tower,
it's just not even part of the clue,
and then you have to
drive a whole hour back.
Come on.
It was a lot harder than it looked.
I got smacked around the water
multiple times.
Oh, this!
Oh, yeah, that's a pretty hard skill.
Looking hot, babe!
You got it, Tim! Yeeow!
That looks hard.
Good work, Mikki!
Yes, Joey! Yes! Whoo!
- Is that a pass?
- Yeah!
- Yes! - Think that might've
been a pass. Good work.
That was so hard.
Good work, Mikki!
- That's it!
- Go, Mikki! Whoo!
Hold it, hold it!
Go, Nicky.
You're getting better each
time, Tim. You got it.
Your butt looks good.
Detour.
Stack 'Em High or Fold 'Em Fast.
- We're gonna do Stack 'Em High.
- We're gonna Stack 'Em High.
- Stack 'Em High.
- Stack 'Em High.
"Both of you must properly stack
your cups within the time limit
"to receive your next clue."
For the Detour, we're
gonna go Fold 'Em Fast.
We're filling 50 dumplings
to the cook's satisfaction.
The only person I would want
to be doing this with is you.
- I feel the same way.
- I love you.
I love you more.
The second we laid eyes on
each other, we were in love.
I went in to my housemate at the time
and said, "I think I
just met my husband."
Yes!
If us being on this race can inspire
people just to be themselves,
we've honestly won
- Yeah. We're winners already.
- ..to be honest. Yeah.
What are dumplings?
Those things we ate the other day.
Ohh.
But the other challenge was stack cups,
and I figured that's
just gonna end messily.
Thanks, Terry.
Let's do it.
Yes! Here we go. Here we go.
We've got this. We've got
this. How hard can it be?
It's a couple of cups.
Oh, my God.
- Oh, my
- Did it in two seconds!
- Can we see can you do one more?
- One more?
- Alright. Do you wanna give it a go?
- Yeah, alright.
- So, we go left on top
- Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang
Ohh. Far out. I've stuffed that one.
Eight seconds! Are you kidding?
We can do it. We can
do it, we can do it.
So, we've gotta find that
restaurant. Go, mate, go, mate.
Tim!
Who do we ask?
- Is that it?
- Yeah.
There's a marker right there.
- Hello.
- Hello.
Thank you.
This is the demonstration.
OK, so, are you watching?
I've literally never made
dumplings in my life,
and here we were making 50 of them.
We've gotta roll We'll
do two big sausages each.
This is making me hungry.
So, we've definitely gotta do 50, eh?
Yep.
- This good?
- OK!
We have 49 dumplings to make.
Let's go, Jas!
Don't give up. Keep going, keep working.
- I passed!
- Oh!
Yes!
Alright, let's do the Fold 'Em Fast.
- The dumplings?
- Yeah.
Yeah, yeah! Come on!
Stay straight! Balance!
Nice!
Keep it there. Come on!
Stay, stay, stay!
Ohh.
But I think she'll get up.
She's got good core strength.
She does CrossFit.
Personal trainer.
I think we're going
to surprise people.
We are Muslim women and we
couldn't be more proud.
We want to show people it doesn't
matter what race, what colour,
what religion you are,
women are capable of doing anything
and everything, so watch out.
Stay straight and keep up!
Don't move until they say!
Stay up, stay up! You've got this one!
Whoo!
Whoo!
Yeah!
Whoo! Come on!
- Detour. Detour, Detour.
- Detour.
Alright, Stack 'Em High. Stack 'Em High.
We've gotta stack up some cups together
in less than, I think, eight seconds,
so that'll be interesting.
How's the little
fella just showing us up?
- Oh, my God.
- It's quick.
- It's so hard.
- It's real quick.
It's tough.
Aargh!
What did I do then?
I just keep
We're both very competitive
and not getting something
really can frustrate me.
The little fella had a bit of a tantrum.
- Knocked some cups over.
- No, no, no.
I was cool, calm and collected.
I'll get it this time.
I'll get it this time.
Aarggh!
Ohhhhh, my gosh! Why is it so hard?!
Alrighty. Back on the road.
The race isn't over yet.
We know we're still in it.
You never know what can happen.
"Search the city below for
your next destination."
Alright. Let's search the city.
Hold on. Take your time.
We've searched for, like, five seconds.
I'm just confused.
Everything that had happened
had just frazzled us.
It was just all like
We can't find the clue again.
Right, let's search the city.
We can't find the clue again
and I think everything that had
happened had just frazzled us.
It was just all like
- Niko, I reckon I've found it.
- Where?
I don't know if that's it.
That's red and yellow.
Oh, yeah, that.
Well, what is that called, though?
- Niko
- Mm?
Wow!
OK, just get it. Let's go.
She's a long way down.
- (NIKO SPEAKS FOREIGN LANGUAGE), Alana.
- OK.
- Come on.
- Yeah, well, just slow up a little.
Come on, Chris.
People underestimate how good
we are because of our age.
The reality is, I think we'll give them
a little bit more than
they're expecting.
I have every faith in
her, she'll nail it.
Adrienne's used to very powerful
hoses being a firefighter.
See how she goes.
Go, Aidy.
To infinity and beyond!
Go, baby!
- Yeah.
- Whoo!
Get in here quick. Stop playing.
- OK?
- Thank you so much!
Oh, Detour.
"Stack 'em high or fold 'em fast."
What do you want to do?
What do you want to do?
- Fold 'em fast, the dumpling rolling.
- Yep.
We're trying to find
a dumplings restaurant.
There's just so many shops,
it's just so overwhelming, like.
Let's go.
Oh, babe, look, there's
a flag right there.
Oh, my gosh.
We need to make 50 dumplings
to the head chef's liking.
Ah, that's not the best one, this one.
Not as pretty as the chef's.
Oh, man.
Especially when your partner's hopeless.
I just hope the other
challenge is really hard
and hopefully they're falling behind.
It's easy. It's a couple of cups.
Oh, you're kidding!
Argh!
Come on, Ty. Seriously.
- Alright, let's just do it. Let's just
do it. - Yeah, I'm ready.
Alright. Three, two, one. Go.
Oh, no, I've stuffed it.
I've stuffed it. Sorry.
Let's go, Ash.
Whoo!
That's 2m right there, right?
Yaaaaay!
Is that 2m?
Whoo! Let's go, Ash.
Whoops. Sorry.
Detour. "Stack 'em high
or fold 'em fast."
- Alright, the dumplings.
- We get to eat 'em too.
- Fold 'em fast. Fold 'em fast.
- Alright, easy, let's go.
Whoo, man, my back is
sore from hunching over.
The fingers are losing it at the end.
- My concentration is sort of waning a bit.
- It's hard work.
Bit more than that?
The last one. Fingers crossed.
So two more? OK. Thank you.
Didn't quite get there, guys?
They took away two that weren't
acceptable to the chef.
They're very picky down there.
Three, two, one, go!
Oh, I stuffed it. Sorry.
There's people coming.
Just focus. Let's get this one right.
Alright. Here we go.
See, he does left to right, and
then he drops it left to right.
Three, two, one, go.
YES!
Yes! Yes! Yes!
Come on! Come on! Yes!
Just a couple of cups.
Oh, thank you so much.
Thank you. Thank you so much.
"Make your way to Seoullo 7017 Bridge
"and search for Beau at
your first Pit Stop!"
The Pit Stop is the final
destination in each leg of the race.
Seoullo Bridge is an elevated linear
path right in the middle of Seoul.
And today, this urban
oasis is the Pit Stop
for the first leg of The
Amazing Race Australia.
The last team to check in
here will be eliminated.
They won't get it as quick as us.
No way.
No. They'll switch detours.
That was hard.
Aargh!
Look out!
What table do you want to go?
Go!
Are we good?
Yes!
Let's go. Let's go.
Thank you.
Oh.
Nailed it.
We actually have a chance of winning
the first leg of the race.
I know the Pit Stop.
Oh, thank you. Thank you.
Thank you.
You're right, mate.
That was awesome. That was good.
That was fun. That was really fun.
Bring on the Pit Stop!
I think the dumplings would have
taken a lot longer to roll
50 than what we just took.
Yeah, and I think you would
have to be very precise.
It's just those two.
Yes!
Yes.
"Make your way to Seoullo 7017 Bridge
"and search for Beau at
your first Pit Stop.
"Hurry, the last team to
check in will be eliminated."
Let's go, let's go, let's go.
I'm literally covered in
flour, this is insane.
- Ooh, a dumpling.
- Yeah.
Thank you very much.
Stop, stop. Look. Seoullo.
- Seoullo?
- It is this bridge.
- It's that bridge? OK.
- Yep.
"You are here." Do you
think it's further up?
Find Beau.
Let's go, Tom.
- Seoullo.
- Not too fast. Not too fast.
- Huh?
- I can't run fast, Joe.
Let's go, Tom.
Excuse me. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.
Keep going. You good?
Here they are!
I think I see it, Viv.
Sorry, sorry.
Oh, thanks.
- Welcome to Seoul!
- Thank you!
Tom and Tyler, you are
..the first team to get here!
Well done, boys. Good job. Good job.
- Good boy. Good boy.
- Well done. Well done.
Unbelievable to win the first
leg of the Amazing Race.
I mean, we couldn't have asked for
a better start, to be honest.
Hopefully the momentum
just keeps snowballing
and we keep stay up the
top the whole race.
Yeah. Yes!
Come on, Viv, we're so close!
I see it. Let's go! Come on!
Whoo! Welcome to Seoul!
- Thank you.
- Whoo!
Viv and Joey, you are
..the second team to check in!
Well done! Well done, team.
We hit one of our goals, which was
not to be the first eliminated.
Once we saw Beau on the mat,
it was just unbelievable.
Whoo!
Praise the Lord!
Go, Jude!
Yeeeeeeees!
Did she get it?
Ooh!
I'm gonna pray for the
gift of levitation.
My goodness gracious. Yes!
Did she get it?
She got it!
Whoo!
I was walking on water!
It's in here.
Hey, guys. How are we?
Here they are.
- Hi, guys.
- Hello! How are you going?
We just had Ash and Sid pop in.
She totally tried to stitch us up before
and send us the wrong way.
We'll be fake and
pleasant and nice but
..we'll remember that.
We're thinking we might be
third, but we have no idea.
Yeah. I can see the flags up
the top. On top of the bridge.
Come on, Mik, we're nearly there.
Oh, it's the girls. It's the
sisters from Queensland.
Hayley and Mikayla, you are
..the third team to check in.
Well done, girls.
- We are ecstatic!
- I'm pumped.
So happy with how we went.
- Good first leg, I think.
- So excited.
Welcome to Seoul!
Tim and Rod, you are
..the fourth team to check in!
Good job!
- Thank you so much.
- You are still alive in the race.
We thought we were heaps
further down the pack than that.
Good job, boys. Go rest and
recover. I'll see you soon, huh?
Go, go. Go, go, go.
I think cup stacking, the hardest thing
was doing it under eight seconds.
Well done. Yes, yes, yes.
Ooh!
OK, get it. Gotta get it.
Boom!
Yes!
Thank you so much.
- Thank you.
- Thank you.
I'm going to give it a try.
Now. Yep, go.
Yep. Three, two
Oh!
- 16 seconds!
- How was that?
No?
Last one.
Ah, come on. Come on.
So we get our 50 done.
Let's hope the chef offers
me a job at the end of this.
- Yeah!
