Fish Water
1 "Fish Water" [OPENING THEME PLAYING.]
[ALL SCREAMING.]
[SCREAMING CONTINUES.]
[CARNIVAL MUSIC.]
[SCREAMING.]
Ah, the carnival.
What can make you feel more alive than hastily-constructed thrill rides? Will I be mangled? Won't I be mangled? I don't know.
I very much enjoy the cotton that is candied.
Mmm.
I just want to play those sick games, - and win some prizes, baby.
- Yo, who are those creeps? [ROCK MUSIC.]
[HOWLING.]
[GROWLING.]
Those are the Carnies.
They run the games.
Oh, how wonderful! Thank you, sweet carnies, for bringing joy to all the world.
No, Star, their job is to rig the game, so nobody ever wins.
[GROWLS.]
Evil! [SNARLS.]
So, we can't win those big prizes? Not if the Carnies have their way.
But, I want a horsey-horsey now, yo! You'll get your stuffed horsey, Beast Boy, because these Carnies have never gone up against the Teen Titans.
Titans, go! [GASPS.]
[LAUGHING.]
[FARTS.]
[SCREECHING.]
[ALL LAUGHING.]
I told you the Carnies wouldn't let us win.
You were right.
Star, don't waste your money.
But I must! I must win the golden fish prize.
Star, no.
This is the cruelest of carnie games.
- Because it is the rigged too? - No.
Because it's the only one that's not.
You'll probably win your fish, but no matter what you do, it'll be belly up within days.
[TICKING.]
[TIMER DINGS.]
[GASPS.]
[GASPS.]
Well, I shall defy these Carnies.
I vow, that the power of my love will keep the golden fish alive for many years.
All right, Star.
All you have to do is toss a ball into a bowl.
I believe in you.
[GLASS CLINKING.]
[GASPS.]
[GASPS.]
[CHEERING.]
Yay, yay, yay! I have won the golden fish.
Ooh, and the plastic baggy.
Ooh, and the fish water.
It is like three prizes in the one.
[SIPS.]
ALL: Ew! [EXHALES.]
- The tangy.
- Uh, guys, we better get out of here.
I think we riled up the Carnies.
Oh, yeah.
They're giving us the stink eye.
They smell of the regular eye to me.
Goodbye, the Carnies.
Oh, the fish, the fish.
He swims through the air La, la, la [SMOOCHES.]
Star, you really shouldn't get too attached.
Yeah.
That fish is gonna croak soon, remember? This fish has the name I have dubbed him [STARFIRE READING.]
[FANFARE.]
Hey, the fish kicked the bucket.
[GASPS AND SCREAMS.]
Oh, my bad.
He's alive.
I was just looking at that piece of toast over there.
[SAD FANFARE.]
Thank goodness! I knew that my love would keep him alive.
Love and maybe some clean water.
His current water is not the acceptable? He's basically swimming in his own juices.
- Pretty nasty.
- It is not the nasty.
ALL: Ew.
If you want to extend your pet's life by a few hours, there are five essential things goldfish need to live.
Number one, a fish bowl.
Two, clean water.
Three, a bunch of pink, and only pink pebbles.
Four, fish food.
And five, a tiny decorative log that the fish will constantly get stuck in.
The fish is happy now in his lovely bowl, and I may still enjoy the baggy of the fish water.
[SMACKING LIPS.]
ALL: Ew.
The life of the fish will be long and comfortable in his new home.
- "Long life.
" Ha, ha.
- I give him a day, tops.
Day and a half, I'm an optimist.
I have told you that the power of my love will keep the Fish alive for many years.
And we will grow old together, and I will give him his old the fish medicines, and it will be wonderful.
Now, the Fish, let us enjoy the day's activities together.

[ALL CHOMPING.]
[STARFIRE SCREAMING.]
The Fish is the deceased! [SAD MUSIC.]
Well, yeah.
- Saw that coming.
- Bummer.
But why? [WAILING.]
Why-y-y-y? That's what carnival fish do, they croak.
I told you not to get attached.
[GASPS.]
Star, wait! Look, the Fish, he's alive! - [GASPS.]
He is? - Oh, no.
My bad.
[CHUCKLES.]
It was just that piece of toast again.
[RAGTIME MUSIC.]
[WAILING.]
ALL: Ew.
[WAILING CONTINUES.]
[ALL RETCHING.]
[BURPS.]
I thought if I loved him enough, he would live.
Star, it's not your fault, it's the Carnies.
No.
It is my fault.
[WAILING.]
Hey, Star, you got a ghost fish haunting you.
[SCREAMS.]
Banunu.
"Banunu"? What does the "banunu" mean? Banunu.
I'll look it up in the fish dictionary.
It says here, that banunu means "friend", and friendship means no fish gets left behind.
Star, the fish ghost has unfinished business, and it needs our help to free its family from the evil Carnies.
Banunu.
The Fish, my love was not enough to keep you alive, but it will be enough to right the wrongs and finish the business.
Show us the way, the ghost fish.
Banunu.
Starfire, you rescue the goldfish, we'll keep the Carnies busy.
Titans, go! [GARGLING.]
[THUDS.]
How about a little of the old sca-pow?! [BELL DINGS.]
Fishies, quickly into the baggy.
[SCREECHING.]
[LAUGHS.]
Now come with me, the fishies, and you will be free to swim in the ocean.
The Fish have been flushed to the freedom.
Ha-ha! The victory! [WHOOPING.]
Yay, yay, yay! Yeah, Star, that doesn't go to the sewer.
Yeah, you just dropped those fish into a bunch of poop.
So, I have failed again? [SOBBING.]
[GASPS.]
What is this? [LAUGHING.]
They're happy to be ghosts? I suppose it is better than living in a tiny bowl and swimming in a circle all day.
So, I did not fail the Fish.
Nah, girl.
You finished that unfinished business.
And all you had to do was throw 'em in the business.
How wonderful! Goodbye, the Fish.
Banunu.
I shall always think of you, when I enjoy the delicious algae water.
[GULPS.]
[SIPS.]
- Ew! [ALL EXCLAIMING.]
- Okay, that's just I can't [BURPS.]
[ALL SCREAMING.]
