The Amazing Race Australia (2011) s04e07 Episode Script

Season 4, Episode 7

Previously on
The Amazing Race Australia
In Mongolia, the epic race for
a quarter of a million dollars
reached the halfway point
Exactly what we needed.
Fast, fast, fast. We gotta
get there quick, quick, quick.
..and as a new contender rose
You are the first team to check in.
Yes!
..and we said goodbye to a favourite.
Hayley and Mikayla,
your time on the race is over.
The fact that we get to explore
new places with your sister,
you know, what more could you want?
Tonight, the competition
reaches new heights in Africa
Zimbabwe!
..where the wildlife
What?!
..and the nature
..are as big as the rivalries.
Sid was wild.
Today is hashtag
The end of Jasmin and Jerome.
..but when it comes
to working together
Tim and Rod will have our back now.
It was about to bite them on the bum.
..it's every team for themselves.
As if I'm gonna let you overtake.
That's just purely dangerous.
We are in magical Mongolia,
a land of great contrasts.
From the desert nomads
to the colourful
metropolis of Ulaanbaatar,
and it's from here that
the teams are departing in
the order they arrived
in the last Pit Stop.
Yes, best rip yet.
Where are we going, babe?
Fly to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe!
Teams are on their way to
Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe,
a land-locked country in
southern Africa with more wildlife
than you can shake a spear at,
and it's home to one of
the seven wonders of the world,
the gorgeous Victoria Falls
here in Zimbabwe,
and it's here that our
six remaining teams will continue
the seventh leg of
The Amazing Race Australia.
God damn, it's loud,
but geez, it's beautiful.
Fly to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe!
Oh! Zimbabwe.
Once outside the airport,
find the chieftainship
of a local village
..and receive her greeting
for your next clue.
Nice, let's go.
We're leading with
a bit of confidence today,
winning the last leg.
We just want to keep that lead
and keep being dangerous
in that top, sort of, pack.
Yeah.
Whoa, we're going to Africa.
The only thing we know about Zimbabwe is
the Zimbabwe bobsled team,
and apart from that,
we no idea, like
What? It's Jamaican bobsled team.
Is it?
Oh, it's a big one! It's a big one!
We just really need to change
the way we play the game.
You know, at the beginning
we were just pissed off that
Sid and Ash lied to us.
Maybe Sid and Ash weren't
telling us the truth.
We don't know yet.
Being lied to, leg one,
when we hadn't even really met.
It really just made me
very cautious of those guys.
But I also want us to maintain our
good alliances that we've built.
Friendships with the other teams.
Yeah.
But friendship ain't much
use to a team that's missed
the start of the race.
Oh, how are you? What's the time?
It's pretty silly not bringing a watch.
We were late to pit start,
which meant we went from fourth
to sixth place to start the leg.
Fly to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe!
Sir.
For me, this is the craziest thing
that I'm heading to Zimbabwe,
'cause I haven't
actually been to Africa.
So, the fact that
I'm going to Africa is just
going to be insane and like
Might have a little bit of an advantage,
you know what I'm saying?
Fly to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
Have your passports. Thank you.
Thanks.
All teams are now
making the 15,000km journey
from Mongolia to Zimbabwe.
It was such a long journey to get here.
Like, over 24 hours. Exhausting.
Thank you so much.
And then when we got here.
It's the cherry on the cake.
I was just, like, what just happened?
Who spits in someone's face?
Thank you.
Ooh!
I had no idea what was going on.
I thought we went up to
the wrong lady and we've just
someone just spat in our face.
Oh, wow.
That was refreshing.
Let's do it.
What a welcome.
Make your way to Zambia.
This active route marker
will bring our teams here,
to the stunning Victoria Bridge,
which crosses the almighty
Zambezi River.
A short cab ride will bring
them to this spectacular border,
where they'll cross on foot
to Zambia, and then travel to
Batoka Sky Aerodrome
for their next clue.
Alright.
Let's go.
Oh, whoa. What's this?
A baboon!
What?
They're massive.
Whoa.
Just a casual baboon
just crossing the road, you know?
Strolling across.
Absolutely stoked to be here in Africa.
Soon as we're in the taxi
out of the airport we're seeing
wildlife everywhere.
Baboons crossing the road,
signs on the road saying
watch for elephant crossings.
I was just waiting for a lion to
just, like, jump out any moment.
Let's go, Ash.
Over here says, "Thank you
for visiting Zimbabwe."
So, I'm assuming this is
the end of the border.
I can't believe we just
landed in one country,
and we're crossing
the border to the next.
The boys are, like, 100 metres
behind us. Tim and Rod are.
You can see
Sid and Ash up ahead.
Oh, yeah?
Oh, look.
Oh, my God.
Tyler and I started with four wins,
but in the last leg we finished fourth.
So, I'm hoping we can get our
way back up to the top three.
Yep.
So, we knew it was a footrace
to run over to Zambia.
This is where we make up our time.
Is this the bridge, guys?
Must be, eh?
When we get passed by
Tom and Tyler, we're like,
"Oh, now we're at
the back of the pack again."
Do you want me to take my pack?
We managed to pass two
teams during the run which was
massive for us 'cause we got
ourselves back to fourth place,
which is where we
would have started the day.
We're going to Batoka Sky.
Do you know where that is?
Yeah.
Perfect.
Oh, no, here come Tom and Tyler.
Let's just go.
Let's get in. Let's get in.
We're so keen to beat the biggest
threats in this competition
and we view that as Tom and Tyler.
There's a flag, there's a flag.
Yeah.
Go in, go in.
Roadblock.
Who does things to the letter?
A roadblock is
a challenge that only
one team member may complete.
One member from each team must
find their head for heights
and soar like an eagle over
the breathtaking Victoria Falls.
From the air, teams will
need to spot six letters.
K, I, U, N, U, and M.
Once back on the ground,
they'll need to unscramble
those letters to spell the word Mukuni,
which is a local village
and the location of their next clue.
Alright, I'll take it.
I'll take it.
Roadblock.
Who does things to the letter?
Alright, I'm gonna do it.
Let's keep that lead.
Ooh, I'm excited.
When we were taking off
I felt a little nervous
and I kept talking to my driver.
I was like, "Where do I hold?"
and he's like,
"You don't have to hold anything,"
and I was like, "Ah, OK."
Oh, my God.
She's an adventure junky,
so I'm fully confident that
she'll get it, you know?
The first go.
So, we can keep increasing
the lead and win this leg.
Roadblock.
You got this?
Yeah.
Yes. Let's go, eh?
Come on, let's go.
Do you want me to do it?
Oh, it's you, mate.
That sounds cryptic.
This one's me.
OK.
Let's just do it.
Think you're gonna do it?
Who does things to the letter?
That's me.
That's you.
Come on.
Do you reckon it's gonna be some
really obscure African village, or?
We have very strong friendships
with Jasmin, Jerome,
and Viv and Joey,
and we trust them completely.
Should we try
and help each other out with
making sure we get all the letters?
What we found so far
is if we help our friends,
they're gonna help us back.
We've survived six legs at this point,
and we said we'd help Jerome and Jasmin
if the opportunity came up,
but with Tom and Tyler,
we just know they're
always gonna get ahead.
They're always gonna be
able to beat us in a footrace,
so we're quite hesitant to help them.
Mwah, love you, my darling.
Have fun. Enjoy.
I definitely said a prayer for
Jerome as he hopped onto that
plane into that sky on
that tiny little aircraft.
I just have to make sure
I was gonna stay switched on
and look for the letters
because there was so much to see.
Saw elephants,
saw zebras drinking, you know,
at a water hole. So, making sure I
capture the letters
as we're going along.
The Victorian Falls
is breathtaking.
There was just, like,
a rainbow going through
the spouting water from the waterfall.
Like, it was just an amazing
way to start the morning.
I completed the challenge
really quickly.
At this point we were ahead of the pack.
Go, mate!
Oh, that looks sick.
Up in the sky I was
actually quite confident.
I could see the letters quite clearly
and the view was spectacular.
Like, I honestly say I've never
seen anything as beautiful.
I got it, I got it.
Yeah, nice.
Looks like Sid and Ash go it first go.
That's a massive lead.
Let's go into there
and see if there's a map.
Oh, here. Here. Perfect.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
We grabbed a map straight away.
You driving, Sid?
Once I wrote the letters down we got
the word, um,
almost instantly.
M, U, K, yes.
Perfect.
To Mukuni, that's where it is.
OK, sweet.
I was super proud of Ash.
She got these words on
the first go and we
were ready to move on.
It's Mukuni.
That's definitely what it is.
I managed to find all
six letters the first time.
Now, gotta frickin' decode
this thing. Good work, Jerome.
Jerome, we gotta go.
Mr. Nice Guy, right here.
I was not happy when I realised
he was literally just giving them
the answer on a silver platter.
Babe, come on, we need to move.
Thanks.
What was it?
I didn't even see the letters.
If we can get an advantage
through challenges like this,
we're gonna take it. So, we kept
these letters to ourselves.
Why did you just do that?
I probably should have
said they were six letters
instead of actually
giving them, you know
The answer.
..the answer.
So, I felt a bit silly later.
U, N, I. Mukuni Village.
Yeah.
I knew that Tom's a bit
scared of heights so this was
a good one for me to take over. Tom
generally doesn't like doing
outdoorsy and adventurous stuff,
so we keep him to the rice eating
challenges. That's more
your side of things?
It's not true at all.
I was up in the
air for half an hour
but I only spotted
five letters. We needed six.
Damn it.
Anything else on your hands?
No. Must have missed a letter.
I really don't want to
have to go back up again,
'cause we'll be at the back of the pack.
I was horrified. I thought,
"He's been up there for a very
"long time and now he's
gotten it wrong. We are done."
Anything else on your hand?
No, I must have missed a letter.
I was up in the air for half an hour,
but I only spotted
five letters. We needed six.
I don't really want to
have to go back up again,
'cause we'll be at the back of the pack.
Viv's about to head up here. Pretty
stoked that Tim and Rod
missed a letter so they'll have
to go to the back of the line.
That's a good confidence boost for us.
How'd you go?
No, I only had five.
Did you not get it?
Care to help us out?
Which one?
I got K, I, U, N, M.
There's two U's.
Oh, I thought it was the same one.
Don't say we don't look after you, boys.
Yes.
We were both so surprised that
Tom and Tyler had helped us
and given us a letter we were missing,
just because the whole competition,
they just seemed like they'd be
in it to win it no matter what it takes.
Let's go.
Tim and Rod have just taken off.
I think maybe Tom and Tyler
gave them the sixth letter.
That's very interesting.
Is this it?
Big 5 Safari Mukuni, yeah.
Wait, it's in there, Sid.
What are you doing?
All we had was the word Mukuni,
but we didn't know whether it was
the Mukuni Big 5 Safari,
or the Mukuni village.
You reckon we turn around?
Um, yeah.
Let's just hope
we're on the right track.
Mukuni Mukuni Big 5 Safari.
This one? Yep. Yep.
But we don't know if we're going here.
Oh, look at this
elephant on the road, babe.
I don't know if we've got time for this.
Excuse me, sir, can you
please move your elephant
off the road?
We're kind of in a race, so
Yeah, Tim and Rod are behind us.
We helped them out a heap.
If they had to get back in line
and do that,
they'd be coming last right now.
Hopefully that comes
back later in the
Yeah, hopefully if there's
a U-turn or anything ahead,
Tim and Rod will have our back now.
Big Safari 5.
It can't be this, can it?
It'd have to be the
village, wouldn't it?
I knew that Mukuni village
was the next place.
It was right on
the map that Tom had gotten.
It had really given us a head start,
'cause we didn't have to stop
and ask anyone.
No.
No.
Alright, you happy to rule this out?
Yeah.
We got to Mukuni Safari Big 5
and we couldn't see a clue box,
so it must be Mukuni village.
Jerome! Jerome.
Do you guys want to work together
just for this, like, initial bit?
Sid and Ash said,
"Let's work together."
What a joke.
What is Mukuni? And there's
a village, Mukuni village,
that's 10 minutes that way.
Are you guys happy to follow us
to Mukuni village?
Yeah, I reckon we're
gonna head to the village.
Just drive around.
Sid and Ash,
they'll snake you in a second.
You need to be a bit more guarded.
You shouldn't have just said the word.
Gotta ask people questions.
You don't just give information.
I think I did the smartest thing
that I've done all race,
to be honest.
I disagree.
Why are you do filled with doubt?
Sid, take a breath and just relax,
'cause you're getting annoying.
Yeah, don't squeeze me.
Just take a breath and just relax.
Jerome went up second and he wrote
down all the letters for us,
but I needed to go up to confirm them.
It was a really quick flight, though.
I think we completed it
in less than five minutes.
Thank you, that was very cool.
See you, Nick!
Let's go.
We really don't let things try
and bother us too much,
'cause, you know, if you dwell
on the fact that you're sixth,
you're probably gonna stay sixth,
but if you just think
that you're still in it,
then you can actually still be
in it. That's our thought process.
K, U, N, U, M, I.
How long ago do you
reckon Joe and Viv left?
Probably been about 15 minutes now.
Excuse me, do you know where this is?
If you can help me unscramble this.
Maybe it's with these letters.
You don't know?
No.
I really do think that we are
one of the strongest teams here.
We just get lost.
Like, that's just our issue.
We just get lost.
Oh, wow.
Are we the first here?
There's no one in the parking.
Good boy. First place.
We're back, baby.
Back, baby. We're back.
We rocked up to Mukuni Village
to find a huge band
and an intersection.
It's time for an intersection.
An intersection is
a challenge that two teams must
work together to complete.
In this intersection,
teams must play a traditional
African instrument called
a marimba. Once the two teams
have performed the melody
in perfect sync,
the leader of the band will
give them their next clue.
We had to wait. Had to wait
for another team to arrive.
Oh, oh, oh!
Hey, hey!
Go straight until you see
Mukuni Big 5 and then left?
Just straight.
Just keep going straight?
Yeah, just keep going straight.
Thank you so much.
Thank you. Thank you.
He's given us the exact directions.
Are you on the wrong side of the road?
Oh, yeah, sorry.
We got to the village, finally,
and we saw that it was an intersection.
Oh, look, Tom and Tyler are here.
You're kidding me.
Tom and Tyler, who were fourth place,
are first to the village.
How do these guys keep doing this?
Play an African song on the marimbas
With another team to
receive the next clue.
Do you guys want to play?
Um
Do you want to do it with us?
Yeah, alright.
You guys want to do it?
Yeah, let's do it.
Yeah, them.
Sid was wild about that.
Fuming.
We're gonna have to
wait for another team.
That's alright.
That's not OK.
I explicitly said to Jerome,
"Let's do this together,"
and they just it.
They turned the other way
and decided to pick Tom and Tyler.
If you understand that it's
a race and stuff, but, like, move.
Shut up, Sid.
It was frustrating, I guess,
just watching the teams
do that challenge,
and us waiting on the side.
Knowing that we'd gotten there second.
You're talking to Jerome
and Jasmin and now they're just
talking to them. Like, if you
moved, we'd have Tom and Tyler.
Shut up.
One, two, three, four.
The traditional marimba
instrument is basically like
a xylophone back home and I did
not get my xylophone licence
when I was in primary school.
Oh.
Trying to play in time with
another team is nearly impossible.
I think there's stuff up here, Tim.
I think it's an intersection.
Oh, wow.
Quick, quick, quick!
We need to do it in pairs.
We need to do it in pairs.
Is it an intersection?
Yes, grab the clue
and then you're gonna to work with us,
'cause Tom and Tyler are now
with, um, Jerome and Jasmin.
It's over there.
Dun, dun, dun, dun.
That's what the beat is.
Tim and Rod had a chance to catch
up to Sid and Ash in that time,
so there was a bit of time
pressure on us and Jasmin
and Jerome to get it
done the first time.
Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you so much. Baby!
Thank you, brother. Thank you.
Detour.
Cultivate or separate.
A detour is a choice
of two challenges.
Each with their own pros and cons.
In this detour,
teams will decide between
cultivate or separate.
Working the land is
the way of life here.
Our teams that choose cultivate
must harness these two ox
to this plough and create eight
straight furrows ready to
plant their next crop.
If their lines aren't straight,
the farmers will tell
them to start again,
but if you plough like a pro,
you receive the next clue.
I'm going alright, but whoever
came up with the saying
"strong as an ox" is a liar.
Or choose to separate.
When couples get married in Zambia,
it's customary for families
to separate their backyards to
create a new homestead.
Using a batch of thatch,
our teams must construct
a dividing fence,
and once judged satisfactory,
then and only then,
will they receive their next clue.
I reckon we, we do the cultivate.
Follow the children who
will lead you to the oxen.
Oxen, let's go.
Oxen.
This way?
Oh, this is so cool.
The fencing one.
OK, let's go.
Let's go.
Think you chose right.
Like, oxen might be tough.
Which is the best?
Which is a good ox?
Which one's the best oxen?
Which one do you reckon?
Oh, there's a lot of shit in here.
We'll go with the big one.
The big oxen.
You're gonna be good
for us today, I reckon.
Oh!
You're gonna have to man up
a little bit here, Tom.
Come on, Pasma.
We've been going with choosing
the more physically demanding
challenges thus far.
Hang on, hang on, hang on,
hang on. I can't slow him down.
It's so hard.
Make sure. You want
eight lines. Good ones.
Honda, Pasma.
Move, move, move.
Command the animal to move.
Move, Honda.
Move, Honda. Pasma. Move.
Go, go, go. Honda.
Oh, it's a demonstration.
Hello, sir.
OK.
Ah, yes.
Great. Yep, let's go.
It was quite challenging,
you know, to build a fence
the traditional way that needed
to be signed off by the chief.
The elder.
Is this your home?
Oh, wow.
Beautiful area. Beautiful kids.
Thank you for having us.
It's pretty awesome we get to come here.
We're building this fence
for a newlywed couple.
It's amazing to be
able to do something to
give back to the community.
Over the moon.
Yeah.
Babe, be careful, do not snap it.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
Detour.
Cultivate or separate.
Work the soil to create eight furrows.
Furrows.
Oh, I think the fence. Arriba!
The ploughing one.
I think it's gonna be faster.
Let's go.
To the ox, to the ox.
What's your name?
Valenka.
Valenka?
Yes.
Oh, my name's Tim. Thank you.
You think you have issues back home,
and these kids are
running through the village,
biggest smiles on their faces,
so happy, and they've got nothing.
It really did open our eyes to
how lucky we've got it back home.
Run, run! Yay!
Play an African song on
the marimbas with another team
to receive your next clue.
Alright, we're gonna have
to wait for Nick and Femi.
Do you want to pull over
and just ask these blokes?
Yeah.
Hey, hey.
OK, so turn around?
Alright, thank you.
Thank you, thank you.
I have no idea how far down
I have go down this road.
The boys are, like, the worst
at finding their way to places.
Here we are stranded, stressing,
waiting for them to come, knowing
that we're second last
as well. So, this was a critical moment.
We could actually be waiting
here for hours knowing them.
We want to maintain our
lead in front of the, uh,
the so-called influencers.
That's better.
OK, push there, Sid.
OK, you got them?
Is that enough?
At their intersection,
Jasmin and Jerome went with
Tom and Tyler. We should have
been there instead of them.
Yeah, just start helping me.
As we were building the fence,
I could feel Sid's frustration.
The knot is at the front.
The knot is at the front.
My frustration came from
the fact that Jasmin and Jerome
were now in front of us.
Yeah? That feel good?
Yeah, that does now.
We supported each other
and backed each other.
Careful, babe.
This is starting to come together.
I think we worked well as a team.
Can you listen a bit
more when I speak to you?
Let me cut it, let me cut it.
No, I don't want to cut it.
Why?
'Cause you're wasting time cutting it.
If it's detail then he's gonna say
We can cut it all again, all at once.
Yeah, the line must
be straight, OK, guys?
Straight to the pole. Go left.
This is a great
pre-season training idea.
I'll go plough first.
Alright, so start ploughing, like,
right here, Tim. Here you go.
Should we go this one?
It's under a tree,
You going straight?
Yeah.
Gay boys aren't good
at doing anything straight.
This is hard. Oh, shit.
How you going, boys?
It's the last one.
You're killing me, mate.
You're actually killing me.
The head farmer who was judging
our ploughing skills was
very strict on how
straight our lines were.
I can't do it much straighter than that.
Do you want me to get the ruler out?
You never argue with
the umpire, you know that.
Why did we rush it?
Lads come on.
Let's go, let's go. Intersection.
Ready?
Yeah.
As soon as we pull up, we see
Viv and Joey at the front,
so we're like, "OK, boom,
like, we're still in this,
"let's keep going."
Play an African song on
the marimbas with another team
to receive your next clue.
Three, two, one, let's go.
One, two, three, four.
One, two, three, four.
One, two, three, four.
I was feeling pretty stressed
being at the back of the pack.
You're just trying to fight to stay in.
One, two, three, four.
One, two, three, four.
Come on, bull. Stay straight.
We need one more.
We need one more straight one.
That's good.
That's a good one.
Let's go, let's go.
Let's do it, mate.
Best one, best one.
Go, mate, we got this.
We got this.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Oh, spewing.
A surprise message
in their cars will lead them
to their next clue.
Oh, my God, Tim,
it's your our mums.
What do you mean?
They're on an IPad.
What? Oh, my God.
Hi, Rod and Tim.
Wow, look how far you have come.
We love you so much,
and we just wanted to let you know
that you're in our prayers
and our thoughts.
We just could not believe it.
It was both our mums,
who we love so dearly,
sending the cutest message from home.
We don't know where
you are in the world,
but wherever you are it will be amazing.
I started crying right off the bat.
We absolutely love
and adore our families.
We're always walking beside you,
and in this case,
running beside you,
very quickly, I hope.
We love you both.
For them to say that
they were proud of us,
it just made our day and just gave
us that energy to really fight
all the way to the end.
Your next hint is
Ride the waters
of the Zambezi River
to Livingstone Island.
Teams must make their way to
the Livingstone Island Launchsite
and catch one of only two
available tourist vessels.
If they miss the boat,
it could mean an agonizing wait
of up to 45 minutes.
Once on board, they'll cruise
the swift waters of the Zambezi
to Livingstone Island, where they'll
search for their next clue.
Quick, get to it. Hurry!
Well, stop talking!
That was so cool.
OK, let's go. Let's go.
One, two, three, four.
One, two, three, four.
One, two, three, four.
We were quick going
through the intersection.
Good momentum, we
nailed it the first go.
Thank you. Thank you so much.
Thank you. Thank you so much.
Detour.
Cultivate or separate.
What are you thinking?
We can plough.
We just use our physical
and just plough through it.
Yeah, I think so.
Fence post. I don't know if
you can carry that stuff, Viv.
Let's do cultivate.
Yeah, cultivate.
Straight line,
straight line, straight line.
This is hard, huh?
Just try your best, Joe.
One more.
The Geelong Highway here.
I think this one is better.
Good line.
Well done.
Good work. Good work.
Thank you.
Thank you. Thank you.
Oh. Looks like we've
got an iPad of some sort.
Tyler, Tom, how are you boys?
I hope you guys are having
a fantastic time
and not arguing too much.
Yeah, my old man was giving me
a little message from home.
Hey, listen, uh, we miss you boys.
Ty, mum, Dylan, and I really miss you.
It was good to see the big fellow again.
Good luck. Hope you guys go well.
Hope you guys bring home the prize.
Thanks, Paulie.
Zambezi.
He didn't put my dog in it.
Put this bottom one on
and the top, come on.
Alright.
It's taking a while.
Lordy.
Choosing the fencing detour
took quite a bit of time
and skill to make sure you
lined up the rows of sticks,
you tie them on properly.
Far out.
We're catching them, too.
Let's keep pushing.
OK.
We really need to get moving.
Come on, babe. It's neck and neck
and we got here before them.
Ash, we'll fix it after.
Can you just calm down?
What are you in a rush for?
Do you understand that this is a race?
What do you mean,
"What are you in a rush for?"
sake.
We were hoping to try
and finish before them
even though they're snakes.
Livingstone Island
is what I'm looking for.
Is there anything on the map?
I was freaking out 'cause
I'm not really good with maps.
Alright, so we're on this road now.
Is that what this is?
I was trying to find
the location on the map.
I didn't know if it was upside down.
We're gonna come to
the end of this road here.
We're either gonna be
able to go left or right.
See, we're wanting to go, drive to
Livingstone Island Launchsite.
Living
Oh, here it is, right here.
Livingstone Island Launchsite.
At least we went the right way.
Yeah.
We got to the parking lot.
We managed to do our little
weasel trick and get
ourselves back up the top.
At least the both of us get
to have some fun this time.
Yeah, I know, and you'll get
to see the top of the falls.
How beautiful is this?
The boat ride was amazing.
We were on the Zambezi river
and there was birds flying over
and greenery and flowing water
and we were there with
a nice UK family of four.
Thanks, mate.
Thanks, brother.
Don't see any other boats which is good.
Yes.
Oh, yes.
Yes!
Unreal.
One of the pleasures
that we have often had is,
when you come in first, is to
take a moment and look around.
How amazing? This is spectacular.
Victoria Falls is right in front of us.
Such a great view
right down to the bottom.
No fences, no nothing.
Just a sheer cliff face
and a drop and it was just unbelievable.
"Drive yourselves to the Elephant Cafe
and search of Beau
at your next Pit Stop.
Hurry! The last team to
check in may be eliminated."
Geez.
The biggest and most iconic
of all African wildlife
are these gentle giants.
Known as the Zambezi herd,
they've all been rescued,
and are cared for here at
the Mosi-oa-tunya National Park
and they love hanging out
at the Elephant Cafe,
which is the pit stop
for the seventh leg of
The Amazing Race Australia.
And they are huge.
Once here, teams must walk, not run,
or they'll scare
the crap out of the elephants.
Babe, this is sick.
Yes!
Oh, a crocodile.
See it on the rock?
That's a small one, eh?
Oh, there's Tom and Tyler there.
Is there?
Did youse get it?
Yeah!
We had made up ground, we were so close.
Enjoy it up there.
Really?
It's so nice.
Unreal.
Thanks, guys.
They had said,
"When you get up to the Falls,
"make sure you enjoy
every second of this."
They were playing ball.
They had realised they shouldn't
have helped us earlier in this leg,
because it was about
to bite them on the bum.
Good luck, boys. See youse.
We see Tim and Rod
and we know we gotta kick it up
a gear and get to the Pit Stop.
We need to go, quick.
Yeah.
I want to beat them.
Oh, my God.
Are you serious?
Oh, there it is.
Route Info.
Drive yourself to
the Elephant Cafe in search for
Beau at your next Pit Stop.
Oh, my gosh. Here we go.
This is pretty straight, right?
I got junior over here.
He likes what he sees.
How'd we go, boss?
Thank you so much.
Thank you, thank you.
We see Viv and Joe get their clue.
We gotta work harder.
We gotta make sure we get
these lines straight.
Keep it straight, Nick.
It's our last one.
Can we get the inspector?
Now you can have this.
Beautiful, thank you.
There is a surprise
Waiting for you at your vehicle.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Oh, my God. It's an iPad.
Hey, Joe and V, It's Dom.
I just wanted to let you guys
know that the family is so,
so super proud of you guys
for making it this far into the race.
Congratulations. No matter where
you guys are in the world,
just know that we are
always going to be with you.
Hi, guys!
What the hell?
Don't bicker.
You guys work great as a team
and we just expect you
to bring home the win!
Yeah, come on. For sure.
Go get them, guys.
Alright, let's go.
Let's go.
That was cute.
What are you doing
still watching this video?
Go!
Let's go. Let's go.
Let's just try and even it out a bit.
Excuse me, sir?
How do you think we went?
Thank you very much, sir.
Thank you so much, sir.
Thank you.
The pleasure's mine.
We loved being here.
Hello!
Hey, kids. Hey.
How far?
Uh, yeah, we're just trying
to catch Jerome and Jasmin.
Where's the car?
This way.
It was super frustrating seeing
Jasmin and Jerome get this
detour finished before us
and as soon as I saw that
I was like, "We need to
beat them to the Pit Stop."
Press the button.
Hi, Jerome and Jasmin!
Oh, my God.
We're all so incredibly proud of
you both and how far you have come.
To see our beautiful baby
Jerome with all my sisters
and my mum was just unreal.
Baba misses you lots,
but he's having so much fun here
with us and we don't want to
see you home any time soon.
Look how big our boy is.
This could change our
lives back home, you know?
We want to be able to build
him a home, set him up for life.
So, winning this race is massive for us.
Bye!
Bye!
Oh, my God.
Alright.
It was just, yeah,
it was amazing to see our boy,
you know? We're here for him.
And let's just keep racing
our race. Let's not give up.
Don't. Just get away.
'Cause it's dry. Should have
done it when it was wet.
Perfect.
Thank you.
Thank you very much.
There's only one car left, Ash.
We are in last place.
Want me to drive?
No. Quick, quick, quick.
Arguing definitely set us behind.
Amazing.
Beautiful, eh?
Mate, let's just hope
Tom and Tyler get lost.
We got this, mate.
Let's catch them.
Let's catch them.
Number one, number one.
Yes. Let's go, Tom.
Come on.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I think that's Tom and Tyler
in that car.
We've got to beat these blokes here.
Get in the car.
Get in the car, quick.
Go, go, go, go, go.
Go. Let's go.
It's been a good day.
Be good if we could finish it
off with a first place.
Absolutely.
So just straight until
I hit traffic lights, yeah?
Yeah.
Are they in that car?
Oh, my God, mate, this is close.
What? They were just there.
We need to beat them
on a foot race here, Tim.
Driving to the pit stop,
Tom and Tyler and us
we're literally neck and neck.
Now, that we're in front of them,
they're probably just gonna follow us.
Mate, this is it.
This is so close.
We wanted that number one spot so badly
and we're gonna do anything
we could to get it.
This is us.
Oh, she's bumpy.
This is it!
Oh, my God! There's their car.
Where?
They're just around that bend.
Tom and Tyler?
Yes.
That's them in front.
This is gonna be literally
a sprint to the end.
- Jeez! It is red hot.
- Nerve-wracking.
Yes, mate! Yes, mate!
We're right on their arse.
Go! Go! Go! Go! Go!
I'm wearing yours.
I'm wearing yours.
Thank you.
We did our first place
and you have to walk through the
Elephant Cafe
otherwise you could get trampled.
Oh, elephants!
Oh, look at the elephants!
Oh, my God!
Oh, my God! There's elephants.
I don't know if you can see through
the elephants there,
but we've got two teams coming through.
We've got Tom and Tyler at the front
and it looks like Tim and Rod hot on
their heels.
They've gotta come through the elephants
to the pit stop.
The teams can't run,
because they could scare
the wild elephants.
Come on, boys! Give us a leg.
You guys would still be
at the paragliding
if it wasn't for us.
Wait! I thought it wasn't pit stop.
We took our time looking at
that waterfall.
Four feet.
Welcome to Zambia.
Thank you so much.
Welcome to Zambia.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
Well done, boys.
Thank you.
Thank you, mate.
Massive effort.
Tom, Tyler you're the
first team to check-in.
Tim, Rod second team.
Yeah!
Yay!
Tom and Tyler have underestimated us
this race so far.
I don't think they've looked
at us as a threat.
I think that's why they helped us
early on in the leg.
I don't think they're gonna make
that mistake again.
Wonderful effort, boys.
Especially you guys.
Rest, recover, hydrate,
and I'll see you again soon.
Bring it in! Come on!
Good job! Good one!
Good job.
We started this leg in last place
and to turn it around and come first
is exactly what we wanted to do,
so we're stoked!
Well done, sir.
Well done, mate.
Livingstone Island Shop Launch Site.
- Bang!
- Yep, nice.
Hello, sir.
Hi! How are you?
Whoo!
Oh, yeah.
It's awesome.
Holy shit!
Wow!
Whoo!
Alright, let's go.
Taken it in.
Drive yourselves to the Elephant Cafe
and search for Beau
at your next pit stop.
Alright, let's go.
OK.
Let's go! Let's go! Let's go!
You didn't need the window up.
It says secure your keys in
your bumbag.
In your bumbag, not
..it's got nothing to do with the car.
You're being such a jerk.
Oy! I have to get out
of the car!
We ran straight for the boat
only to find that the boat wasn't
there anymore,
so we had a good 30 minutes to wait,
which wasn't pleasant.
I get you're annoyed sometimes
and there's multiple
things that can come up,
because that's, like,
what's happening right now.
Mm-hm.
But you need to speak nicer.
OK, I'm sorry.
When it comes to arguing,
I'm the kind of person that most times
does want to sort it out.
The issue that I'm facing at the moment
is that I feel especially today,
you're way relaxed.
Like, this still is a race.
If you start listening
a little more, I think
Oh, it's my fault.
It's still my fault.
Look. This is how it is.
I know.
I disagree with what you're saying.
I don't have to agree with you, Sid.
Funnily enough, I'm allowed to disagree.
- Wow!
- Whoa!
Oh, my God!
Holy cow!
That is amazing!
That is unreal.
Oh, what a ripper.
Drive yourself to the Elephant Cafe
and search for Beau
at your next pit stop.
The last team to check-in
may be eliminated.
Let's get out of here.
Elephant Cafe. Let's do it.
Let's go! Quick!
We knew that we were coming last
and all we wanted was
to catch other teams.
I see Ash on that boat.
Oh, my God! It's so close.
Short amount of time that we've got
to get in front of them.
We have to nail this to get
to this Elephant Cafe.
Let's go! Let's go! Let's go!
Come on! Keep pace.
Let's get that pit stop.
Really don't want Nick, Femi,
- Jerome, Jasmin to go home.
- No.
Hoping they make it in
before Sid and Ash.
Here we are.
Our little champions.
They've got the biggest hearts.
Welcome to Zambia.
Thank you so much.
Viv and Joey
..well, you are the third team to
check-in.
Well done.
We feel like we're back finally.
Coming in third place is a hell of a
lot better
than coming in second last
for the last two legs.
Thanks, mate.
We know that we can't get too arrogant.
These are strong, strong teams
and anything can happen.
Bit critical at the moment, because
Sid and Ash
where just behind us.
But we think we're still
a good 10-15 minutes away,
so we're just hoping that we get to
the pit stop.
We're so tight with other teams
if we just turn the wrong way
..we're gone.
We left the boat challenge
and we've been driving around
for an hour.
I was so worried,
because we had a small lead
on Sid and Ash
..but now we're just so lost.
Drive down Naccatilly Road.
Babe!
I flipped the map over
and realised the road
that we need to go to is actually back
towards the township.
The map said it was back this direction.
Oh, my God.
We hadn't seen any other cars.
We had a small lead on Sid and Ash.
Yeah
And we were lost.
This is so stressful.
We know that we're
coming last at the moment.
We've just gotta hope
that someone makes, like,
a huge mistake.
Holy!
Wow! Alright, let's go.
Drive yourself to the Elephant Cafe
and search for Beau
at your next pit stop.
Hurry. The last team to check-in
may be eliminated.
Yeah.
Thank you!
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
We're not playing aggressive enough.
Like, the patience and the calmness
and stuff is good,
but then I think today
it came to a level of like
..we actually forgot this was a race.
We left the boat challenge
and we've been driving
around for an hour.
I was so worried,
because we had a small lead
on Sid and Ash.
Yeah.
And we were lost.
Should I just yell out?
Yeah, just pull up.
Hello um
..Is Elephant Cafe this way?
The clue said to find the pit stop
at the Elephant Cafe.
Back there?
It turns out
..we were heading
in the wrong direction.
The horns?
Yes.
Alright.
The road that we need to go to
is actually back where we were.
Thank you! Thank you!
I just hope we're not gonna be
eliminated.
I'm gonna give you
the map.
No, I don't want the map.
I want you to read it.
I just want you to confirm it with me.
No, I don't want to confirm it.
You don't want to confirm it?
I want you to take
full accountability for this
and just tell me left and right,
left and right.
Alright, you're being
a complete ,
but let's just go with it then.
Yeah, Elephant Cafe.
Keep going straight.
I see the flag.
Close it. Come on.
Grab your stuff.
And it looks like it's
the nurses, Femi and Nick.
First time they haven't got lost
Oh, the elephants!
Beautiful! Amazing!
We can't run, because there's
wild elephants everywhere,
so we just started speed walking to
the pit stop.
You know what I'm saying?
Welcome to Zambia.
Thank you.
Femi, Nick you are
..the fourth team to check-in.
Thank the Lord, like
..after such, like,
a miserable start to the leg
..like, coming in fourth
was just absolutely amazing.
We were stoked.
Good job, boys.
Come on.
Thank you.
Obviously, we had to hurry,
so we were like all guns blazing
towards pit stop.
We thought we were last
and then we looked behind
and saw Jasmin and Jerome tailing us.
We've got a team behind us.
Game's on!
Despite all the mistakes
that we had made
throughout the day,
we were not actually last.
So, I reckon Sid and Ash
are sitting in front of us.
You really for the race
of your life, babe?
Yeah.
As we were driving,
they decided to overtake us.
I wasn't going to let them overtake us.
It's a race, right?
Babe! Babe! No! No! No!
No! He's purposely
..but he's purposely
doing that.
Like, I didn't do
anything wrong, Jasmin.
I know, but he's swerving
in front of you like
As if I'm gonna
let you overtake.
For Sid to do that
..like that's just purely dangerous.
Is that the Elephant Cafe over there?
I don't know.
When we get out of this car, babe.
We have to absolutely leg it.
Yeah, just park here, park here.
Quick! Quick!
We pulled up to the parking lot
and Ash's door was still locked.
Oh, my God!
Park and get out.
Put your bag on!
Quick! Quick! Quick!
Should we take the keys?
No! No! Just go!
Run! Just run!
Where's my bag?
They were mucking around
getting their bags out of the boot.
Shit! I'm sorry.
For sake!
So, we had a 15m head start
on those guys.
For sake.
Relax. Just do a fast walk.
Yeah, but we can't catch them.
Alright, here we go.
Cut through. It doesn't say
to follow the path.
Yes, it does! It does.
It says you must follow the road.
I can't believe Sid and Ash
Seriously
..put us all in danger.
How do we keep blowing
leads like this?
Just be positive.
And make mistakes that like
Be positive, Sid.
..until the end.
Be positive.
Positive vibes.
Welcome to Zambia.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Jasmine, Jerome
..you are
..fifth team to check-in.
Well done, my love.
You're still in.
Just.
Even though we thought
we were going to be eliminated,
we managed to sneak in there
on fifth spot.
Welcome to Zambia.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
How you guys feeling?
Made a lot of mistakes
today, mate, so
..just gonna cop it on the chin,
and see what happens.
Sid, Ash
..you are the last team to check-in.
However
..this is a predetermined
non-elimination leg.
Yay! Yeah!
You will continue racing.
Yes!
This is the biggest lesson
we could've had, coming last,
and the fact that
we're still in the race,
we're gonna have to relook
at how we do things,
because today was a disaster.
Next time on
The Amazing Race Australia.
As our African Safari continues in
Zimbabwe.
Unbelievable! It's something out of a
picture book.
Best moment of my life.
Teams are going back to school.
We had the whole community there
cheering us on.
Really, really nice.
To learn some hard lessons.
Do that! Do that!
Our anxiety, stress, and, like, fear
went from here to, like
To break the rules
We got instructed we can't do that
otherwise we'd all be doing that.
Whoo! Whoo!
Rules are there to be broken.
..and you'll find yourself
You know the rules.
Take a seat, please.
This can't be happening.
..in detention.
