Top Shot (2010) s04e10 Episode Script

SWAT Throwdown

Donaldson: Previously on "Top Shot" The entire ballgame just changed starting right now.
the competition enters the individual stage.
It looks like I'm shooting in California, and that target's in Nevada.
Donaldson: A big gun eliminates Gaby.
Gaby, you have fired your last shot.
Go! In the closest finish ever on "Top Shot" We're tied up with one bull's-eye target left! Yeah! Chris pulls out a victory That was an incredible shoot-out.
William, you have fired your last shot.
leaving six to vie for the title of "Top Shot.
" Donaldson: There are shots that changed history Feats of legendary skill and extreme precision.
Now 16 of today's best marksmen have been chosen.
They come from all over the country and from all walks of life.
Amateurs and professionals, military, recreation, and exhibition shooters.
Each shows the timeless skills of a true marksman not just with one weapon, with any weapon.
They will compete in a series of challenges until only one remains, to claim the $100,000 prize and the title of "Top Shot.
" whew.
[ Sighs .]
We have air-conditioning.
Kyle: I did not expect William to go home.
I am shocked.
William was definitely one of the stronger shooters in the house.
Now that he's gone, it's wide open.
Anybody can win.
[ Pounding .]
I'm feeling really good about my chances of winning.
I know that it's only gonna get harder.
But I think I have what it takes to win this thing.
and we all deserve to be here.
[ Laughs .]
Chris Cheng is good with certain things, but you put something in his hand that's foreign to him, he might suck.
Kyle: You came out there gunslinging, and you did not give up.
He stepped up.
But looking around, I'm feeling that I have a very good shot at $100,000.
Holy cow.
Donaldson: The field continues to dwindle.
Group's getting smaller.
Fellas, we are in the final stretch.
Six of you are still battling it out for the $100,000 grand prize, the title of History's "Top Shot," and a contract to become a professional marksman sponsored by bass pro shops.
You guys have made it through some of the most difficult challenges we have ever assembled on "Top Shot," and you've proven yourself with a truly mind-blowing array of weaponry.
So, you may be wondering what else we could possibly throw at you.
Well, gentlemen, you're about to enter the world of special forces and elite tactical operations, both military and law enforcement.
The firearm you'll be shooting today meet the fn57.
[ Laughs .]
Yeah.
just shoot and shoot and shoot.
I'm just stoked.
Donaldson: The fn57 is a deadly serious handgun designed for close engagements by wielding the stopping power previously confined to rifles and carbines.
This 20-round pistol fires a 5.
7-millimeter bullet that will Pierce most military body armor.
Military and police forces of over 40 countries currently use this firearm.
To help you with this weapon, we've brought in a marksman with over a decade of combat experience with the Navy S.
E.
A.
L.
S.
There are few who know more about the real-world application of special forces tactics than Jeff Gonzales.
[ Applause .]
Good morning, Jeff.
Hey, Colby.
How's it going? Welcome back, buddy.
Great to be back.
For this practice, Jeff is gonna have you load, holster, draw, and fire the weapon.
One more thing this challenge is going to test you physically.
Trust me.
Exactly how, you're just gonna have to wait and find out.
Gonzalez: This is a hyper-velocity pistol round, basically.
This is a .
22 on steroids.
I've never fired the fn57.
All night.
Yep.
[ Gunshots .]
This thing's velocity is ungodly.
That rifle cartridge is awesome.
It's moving roughly somewhere around 2,400 feet per second.
It is screaming.
[ Gunshot .]
Good.
Nice shot.
Nice.
Gonzalez: Good.
The fact that we're gonna have to shoot from a holster is a first for this competition.
That's gonna be a lot of fun.
Nice.
[ Gunshot .]
Good.
Grip, grip.
There it is.
[ Gunshot .]
[ Gunshot .]
Chris: The fn57 I've never seen it nor held it nor shot it.
Touch and squeeze.
Good.
[ Gunshot .]
Good.
Nice! All right, you shanked the last two, but not by much.
[ Gunshot .]
Nice.
[ Gunshot .]
Nice.
Colby mentioned there will be a physical element to this challenge.
So the key will be managing your heart rate during trigger press, or, just before trigger press, managing your breathing and your heart rate.
Good luck to everybody out there.
Go ahead and head out.
Thank you.
Yore welcome.
Thank you.
Gary: I want that title of "Top Shot.
" You know, it's for me to win and lose.
That's the way I look at it.
Gary: At this point in the game, my focus is definitely just to win, maybe not necessarily for the money or the title.
It's just to win.
Augie: The marine corps taught me how to shoot.
That's really where I first realized that I had a little something going on as far as shooting's concerned.
My determination to succeed in life has put me where I am, and that's what's gonna get me through this competition.
Whoa.
Look at that.
I see this really large structure, and it looks like there are three stories to it.
And I see a rope dangling from the top.
I'm thinking I'm gonna have to climb this tower and then somehow make it down.
Chris: Wow.
Morning, shooters.
Good morning.
Good morning.
Good morning.
Welcome to the individual challenge.
The top three automatically move on to the next round.
The bottom three are eligible for elimination.
You've all trained with a gun used by military and law enforcement special-tactical units the world over.
Now it's time to see if you can perform under a simulated real-world condition those units might face.
That means you're gonna have to lay it all on the line, literally.
Take a look behind me.
That's a 30-foot tower.
See that rope starting at the top, going all the way to the ground? You guys are gonna be going down that rope with the fn57.
Wow! Crazy cool.
I've done some rock climbing as a hobby, but that's more about climbing up versus rappelling down.
Chee: I did a little bit of rappelling back in boot camp, but aside from that nothing more.
Augie: The first thing I'm looking for is the ambulance 'cause I haven't rappelled since 1995.
And I don't know if this is gonna turn out well for me.
Here's how it's gonna work.
This is a race against the clock.
You'll each take a turn on the course.
You will start at the top of the tower then rappel down 10 feet to the first pair of windows with the fn57 holstered.
When you get to those windows, you'll have to stand on a ledge, grab a loaded mag, and fire through the first window at three 1-gallon jugs then maneuver to the second window, where you'll engage three more targets.
Now you must rappel down 10 feet to the second ledge.
There you'll grab another loaded mag and fire at half-gallon jugs You hit those six targets then rappel down another 10 feet to the ground and fire at a set of targets Once you've hit all the targets, the clock stops.
Make sense? All right.
The three with the fastest times are safe.
You're moving on.
The three with the slowest times are eligible for elimination.
It's gonna be tough.
That's for sure.
Donaldson: We determined the shooting order with a random draw.
Greg, you're up first.
We're gonna get you loaded up, suited up, and we'll get started.
Chris: I'm really excited going into the challenge.
Looks like a lot of fun.
Gary: I'm just thinking, "this is gonna be awesome.
" Not quite sure how fast I'm gonna go down, but I'm really eager to get trying.
Donaldson: Coming up on "Top Shot" Bad time to start, you know, fearing heights.
Donaldson: Whoa! He almost misses the second platform! I hope I don't end up upside down.
This next challenge will test your real-world abilities with the fn57.
Three marksmen with the fastest times advance in the competition.
The bottom three will be eligible to be nominated for elimination.
Greg, head to the top of the tower.
For the sake of fairness, we're gonna ask the rest of you to step away from the course until it's your turn to go.
Colby told me I was going first.
It didn't bother me.
I was ready to go.
I was excited.
I'm pretty comfortable.
I shot the gun well during practice.
I'm not extremely skilled in rappelling, but it's nothing that's too difficult for me.
All right.
Here we go, Greg.
Marksman, ready Set, go! Greg rappels down to his first shooting level.
Six targets, 70 feet downrange, using the fn57.
Misses on his first two.
I was trying to shoot too fast.
[ Gunshot .]
Now he takes his first target out! Two targets left.
Takes two targets out.
Greg hits all three targets with the fn.
He's got to clear the weapon.
Go back.
You got to holster the weapon first.
Now you can move across to the other deck.
I let my shooting pace get ahead of me.
Donaldson: Takes the fn out, loads in a new magazine, and he's back on the course.
Takes out his first target, second.
Now Greg's picking up the pace.
He rappels down to the second platform.
Very good on the harness.
No problem.
Loaded up.
Greg now moving over to the second window on the second level.
Three more targets out at 50 feet.
Missing a couple of times.
After you start missing two or three shots, it adds to your anxiety that you already have going.
Oh, come on, Greg.
Donaldson: Greg talking to himself.
Now he gets it dialed in! Three hits in a row.
He's got to rappel down to the last level, ground floor, and engage six final targets.
[ Gunshots .]
Greg's just waylaying glass jars! Clears the weapon.
Moves over to the second window.
Got a fresh mag waiting.
He's back up and shooting.
That's it! Time! Greg, your time 1:32.
I'll take that.
Head on over to the bench.
Chee kwan gonna be the next guy up with the fn57.
[ Exhales sharply .]
I'm standing there, you know, sitting on the rope and just looking down.
Then, you know, that's where it all started.
Great time to learn you're afraid of heights.
[ Exhales deeply .]
Donaldson: Go! Chee rappelling down the wall to the first set of targets.
I had a little bit of difficulty descending the rope.
Donaldson: Now he's up and engaging targets.
Hits on his rst shot.
Misses on his second.
And the third.
Now he's got to clear the fn, put it back in the holster, move over to the other window.
Strikes on the first target.
Hits the second one.
Now he picks it up.
Once again, has to clear the weapon, put it in the holster, and drop down 10 more feet to the next shooting deck.
Chee: It's pretty difficult for me, you know? I suck with ropes.
Donaldson: Hits on his first shot.
Second shot's a hit.
Third shot's a hit.
Now he's getting his sights where he needs them.
Engaging the second set of targets at 50 feet.
Chee takes out six targets in seven shots.
Drops down to the final level, has six more targets.
Chee mowing through those three very quickly.
Got to holster the weapon.
Moving over.
Has three targets left.
One Two Time! Chee, your time on the course 1:42.
It puts you in second place over there.
We'll bring in our next shooter Kyle.
Greg: I started to have a little bit of hope thinking maybe, maybe, just maybe I'll be in the top three and I won't have to worry about nomination.
All right.
See you on the other side.
I rappelled back when I was an operator on a SWAT team, but that's been two decades ago.
I don't think I'll have much of an edge.
Donaldson: Go! Kyle drops down to the first platform.
Kyle I expected nothing less than him to outshoot all of us today.
Donaldson: Missing on his first shot.
Hits his second and third.
Now he's got to pick up that first target, and he does.
Clears the weapon, moves over to the left-side window.
Hits that one on the first shot.
Ohh, goes just low.
Takes out his third.
That's hit! Keep going.
It's hit.
Clears the weapon, drops down, almost missing the second platform.
That's a hit.
Three in a row on that window, wasting no time moving across to the left side.
Now he's hot once again.
Kyle: Halfway through, I know I cost myself a great deal of time.
Although I could see the magazine was inserted, it still needed a little bit of a bump for it to unlock the safety.
Donaldson: Kyle.
Come on, buddy.
It's on "fire.
" Finally, I racked the action again and pop the gun starts working.
Ohh, no.
Donaldson: 3 for 3.
You're kidding me.
Clears the weapon.
Now he's got to drop down to the ground level.
Two more windows to engage through.
[ Gunshots .]
Kyle moving very quickly through here.
Time! You're kidding me.
[ Groans .]
I fully expect this to be in the bottom three today.
You finished the course in 1:21.
Good enough for first place.
Chee: Nice.
Well, that still doesn't mean I'm safe.
Donaldson: Gary's up next.
Gary: I'm just in heaven.
Did a little bit of rappelling back in the boy scouts, but never with a gun.
Donaldson: Go! Gary dropping down to the first platform.
Ohh! Smacks the wall.
Now he's loading up the fn57.
Misses on his first shot.
Second shot's a miss.
Gary having a little trouble getting on target.
Now he hits his first two targets.
Three targets down.
He's got to clear the weapon, move over to the left side of the house.
Firing downrange.
Now he's getting dialed in with the fn.
Takes two targets out, and his third target.
Got to holster the weapon.
Whoa! He almost misses the second platform! [ Gunshots .]
Hits all three targets, clears the weapon.
He's got to holster it.
Moving across.
Loading back up.
Hits that target.
Takes out the second target.
And the third.
Once again, has to clear and holster the weapon, drop down ohh, gets hung up a little bit.
Making his way over to the right-side window.
Three targets.
No problem at all.
Clears the weapon.
Moves over to the left.
Gary forgets to holster at the first window and runs over to the other window, loads, and then he realizes he has to unload, go all the way back to the other window, holster, then come back.
[ Gunshots .]
Time! [ Sighs .]
Your final time 1:36.
Good enough for third place.
Chee, that moves you over to the bubble, my friend.
That means you are eligible to be nominated into the elimination challenge.
Being on the hot seat was definitely something that I'm not used to, but, oh, well.
Chris is our next shooter.
Go! Chris making his way down the wall, moving over to the right-side window.
Loading up the fn57.
Three targets at 70 feet.
Misses on his first two shots.
Now he hits the target.
Takes out two targets.
And a third.
I know he's got what it takes to knock me off that safety seat and into the danger zone.
I need to slow down and really make my shots count.
Donaldson: Goes 3 for 3 on the left side.
Clears the weapon once again, drops down 10 feet to the next shooting deck.
I'm in my rhythm.
I'm starting to feel a lot more comfortable.
Donaldson: Hits it.
Miss.
Takes out the second target And his third.
Chris shooting very well with the fn.
Loading back up.
Misses on his first shot.
Hits it.
Takes out the second target.
And the third.
Dropping down to ground level.
Has six targets left.
to the left side of the house.
Three targets remaining.
Time! Nice work, Chris.
Greg: Nice run, Chris.
I wasn't expecting what I saw out of Chris Cheng.
in first place.
[ Applause .]
Nice shooting.
Chris: Thank you.
So, Gary, you and Chee are both eligible to be nominated into the elimination round.
Let's bring in our final shooter.
Augie is up.
Augie: Last time I done it was 1995, and I only did it once.
So I hope I don't end up upside down.
Go! Ohh! Augie smacks into the wall at the first shooting level.
I slipped on the first ledge, and I just went straight down instead of jumping out, which would have made me go to the ledge a lot faster.
Greg: I was a little excited.
I was like, "all right, I have a chance.
I might be in the top three.
" Donaldson: Hits on his first shot.
Takes out the second target.
And the third.
Clears the weapon, puts it in the holster, and moves over to the right side.
Three more targets out at 70 feet.
Hits the first target.
Misses on the second.
Now he picks it up.
And the third.
Now he's got to drop down.
He's on the second deck.
Very quick on the load.
Clears the weapon, moves over to the right.
Hits on the first target.
Hits the second target And the third.
I expect Augie is probably gonna shoot better than Chris did.
Donaldson: Misses on the first shot.
Picks it up.
[ Gunshots .]
Time! I wasn't pleased with my performance.
Augie, you took out all your targets in 1:23.
Good enough for third place.
Head on over.
Join your team.
Augie: I'm shocked.
I didn't expect to be in the top three.
I really thought I was gonna be in the bottom three.
Chris, Kyle, and Augie, well done.
You are the top three.
You guys are safe from elimination.
And you're moving on to the next round of this competition.
Chee, Gary, Greg You are eligible for elimination.
I'll see all of you at the nomination range.
You guys can head back to the house.
Coming up on "Top Shot" I go back and forth with whether or not Greg should go to elimination or not.
I have an inclination to protect the red team members.
Greg: When we get back to the house, we sit down and have our typical meeting.
It was just it was what it was.
Just clean runs.
So, I the bottom three were the slowest time.
That was the name of the game, so I don't know how we want to do it.
Kyle: Here's what I'm considering, Greg.
I have an inclination to protect the red team members.
Greg: Yeah, that's fine.
You good with that? You could be the first person to go four times and come back.
That's not a goal of mine, but, uh But it might be a benefit.
I understand why you would do that.
Greg: I've been three times.
I wasn't scared of going a fourth.
I don't want to go, but I'm not scared to go to defend myself.
You know, I mean, from my perspective, I can't even begin to think about shooting Greg's target.
I mean, he's been to elimination three times and [Chuckles.]
I mean, just come back ripping and roaring.
Kyle: Yeah, he's paid his dues.
And neither Gary or Chee have been to elimination, and they were the weakest two.
And so in my mind, I'm gonna shoot either one of your targets.
It's sort of however just to, whatever, make it even or put one of you guys up.
Chris: I was definitely the weakest shooter today, and I feel that I should definitely be one of the two that are nominated to the elimination.
So that makes perfect sense to me.
And I hope you don't take it personally, Greg.
I don't.
Oh, well.
Donaldson: Hey, guys.
Welcome back to the nomination range, fellas.
Based on your performances today, Kyle, Augie, Chris, you guys can relax.
You're all safe.
Which means, Chee, Gary, Greg Two of you will be facing off in the elimination challenge.
All right, guys.
Let's get to the vote.
Augie, you're gonna start things off.
All right.
Bull's-eyes.
Bull's-eyes.
[ Indistinct conversation .]
Chris: Nice.
Chee: Nice shot.
Damn.
Augie: I would like to see Chee come back into the house.
I just talk to him a lot more.
He was in the marine corps, so I have a similar background to him, and I just relate to him more than I do Gary.
One vote for Gary.
Greg, you're next.
Gary and Chee, you each have a vote.
And, Chee, you're up.
Chris: Oh, wow.
[ Chuckles .]
Chee: Sorry.
[ Laughs .]
It's okay.
Greg: Good shot.
Two votes for Gary.
One for Chee.
Kyle, it is your turn to vote.
[ Clears throat .]
Better center punch.
Nice.
Nice.
Chris: Nice shot.
Greg: He swung all the way over and shot Chee's target.
I was a little baffled.
I completely expected him to shoot my target, and I understood the reason why.
You didn't have to.
Kyle: I had a little sidebar with Chee, and he told me to go ahead and shoot his target.
He's been seeking an opportunity to go and prove himself, and I will help him with that opportunity.
Gary: It's all good.
Thanks, buddy.
Chee: Way to shoot, Chris.
Thanks.
With three votes for Gary and two for Chee, that makes it official.
You two guys will be duking it out in the elimination challenge.
Gary, there's no need for you to come up and vote.
You can all head back to the house.
I'll see you two guys tomorrow morning at practice.
Chee: Having never gone to an elimination before, I definitely, I wouldn't say, "envy" the two shooters, but, you know, some of those elimination challenges are awesome.
And, you know, I'm just definitely looking forward to what I'm gonna face soon.
Donaldson: Coming up on "Top Shot" This elimination challenge is inspired by a special weapons and tactics team, also known as SWAT.
Gary: I mean, this was what I came to "Top Shot" to do.
I've never got to breach doors, wear the gear.
It makes it that much more real.
[ Gunshot .]
Good morning, Gary and Chee.
Morning.
Morning.
This elimination challenge, it is inspired by real-world situations faced by special weapons and tactics teams, also known as SWAT.
In this practice, you'll be firing two firearms designed with SWAT teams in mind the Mossberg 500 chainsaw shotgun and the fn fs2000.
The shotgun and the carbine I'm thinking, "this is gonna be sweet.
" Donaldson: The 500 chainsaw is a pistol grip, pump-action shotgun that has no stock.
Intended to be used from the hip, the wraparound handle permits the user to fire rounds while at the same time asserting leverage in order to reduce muzzle climb.
The fs2000 is a semiauto carbine in bullpup style, meaning that magazine is behind the trigger group as opposed to being in the front of it like most guns.
The gun is gas-operated and relies on a rotating-bolt lockup for reliability and accuracy.
Equipped with a muzzle brake to reduce recoil, fired cases are ejected through a forward port away from the shooter.
Here to help you train with these extraordinary weapons, we've brought back Jeff Gonzales.
Good morning, Jeff.
Good morning, Colby.
Due to the nature of this practice and the challenge, you will be required to wear protective SWAT gear.
You're gonna practice separately.
Gary, you'll be up first.
Chee, you can come with me.
You'll practice later.
Good luck.
Gary: I've had extensive work with both weapons.
I own the Mossberg 500, and I've shot the fn fs2000 numerous times.
They're both phenomenal tactical weapons.
Why don't we go ahead and get you all jocked up with this gear? You got some full kit that we're gonna work on here, so I'll let you kind of sort it out.
I'll help you get all jocked up.
All the SWAT gear just makes this that much better.
I mean, we want these role-playing, action-packed stages.
I mean, this is what I came to "Top Shot" to do.
I've shot these guns before, but I've never got to breach doors, wear the gear flak jacket, helmet, gloves, goggles.
It just makes it that much more real.
It is just awesome.
Why don't we start with a little weapon familiarity as far as controls are concerned? Gonzalez: So, the Mossberg 500 is a shotgun that is used very widely within law enforcement and SWAT teams.
We see it very regularly during our shotgun-breaching programs.
You're not gonna have any part of your body other than the hands to support that weapon system.
Again, that chainsaw grip should help control it, all right? It's very user-friendly.
It's very reliable.
It's a great tool for the toolbox.
Once you are at the point end, lift it up 45, lift it in 45.
The breacher is something I've never done.
[ Shotgun cocks .]
Fantastic.
Good.
There you go.
There you go.
[ Gunshot .]
Nice! Oh, good job.
It's definitely different doing it in person than it is seeing it on TV.
Nice.
I just know that with all these things and elements included the guns, the gear Gonzalez: There we go.
it's just gonna be a dynamic challenge.
It's gonna be awesome.
Hello again, sir.
Hey, Chee.
How's it going? Very good.
How are you? Good.
This looks sweet.
You are gonna have a lot of fun.
Let me tell you that.
My experience with close-quarters battle stems from my time in the marine corps.
All right.
I remember this.
Yes.
My personal job was an assaultman, so I dealt with rockets and explosives and also primarily urban breaching.
So, I would specialize in blowing down doors or shooting down doors and then clearing a room.
So, you know, I definitely have a little bit of experience with this.
Nice.
Firing.
[ Gunshot .]
Gonzalez: Nice.
Chee: Putting that flak jacket on and that kevlar on definitely did bring back a lot of memories.
You know, I definitely feel very confident and comfortable with my level of expertise in this particular challenge.
Good.
Nice job.
[ Gunshot .]
Nice.
It's definitely fun.
It's got a nice trijicon reflex sight on it.
So, you know, pretty much where you aim is where you're gonna hit, and that's definitely a very awesome feature for that optic.
[ Gunshot .]
Nice.
Up! Gonzalez: Chee came up shooting, and once he got comfortable with the weapon system, he really you could see his skill sets coming into place at that point.
Go! One, two.
Nice.
He did really well.
Three, one.
Nice.
It really could go either direction at this point.
They both are good shooters, so, you know, it's anybody's game at this point.
It's the guy who's gonna make the fewest mistakes.
Good luck.
I appreciate it.
Thanks for all your help, all right? You're welcome.
I have never actually competed in a formal competition, but I do work at a shooting range where every day, someone walks in claiming to be a champion of this, a grand master of that.
To win "Top Shot" is definitely gonna be a unique experience because I've never gone to any actual competitions before.
So, if I'm able to win here, then I can use this experience as perhaps a starting point for my future career in shooting.
Gary: When I first got to the competition, I knew I was gonna catch a lot of heck from the guys because I'm not a military-experienced guy.
I've never been in a police department.
I've never done any of that stuff and gotten formalized combat training.
So I knew when we got to those guns and those challenges, I was gonna be looked upon as the underdog, the guy who doesn't know what he's doing.
The one thing that gives me a huge advantage in this entire competition is my weapons familiarity.
So, on the timed challenges where it takes weapon manipulation, I've got a huge advantage.
I know these guns.
As I'm walking down the hill towards the challenge, I see Colby standing there next to an entire gauntlet of targets.
Three doors, a bunch of targets awesome.
I'm just pumped to go through this.
That looks great.
Wow.
Come on in, marksmen.
Welcome to the elimination challenge.
One of you is moving on.
The other headed home.
You'll go one at a time using both the Mossberg 500 chainsaw shotgun and the fn fs2000.
Shooter will use the 500 chainsaw to obliterate the lock on the door and breach the facility.
Inside, you'll switch to the fs2000 to shoot three jars After those targets are hit, you'll again use the 500 chainsaw to breach the next door.
[ Gunshot .]
Switch back to the fs2000 to engage three more jugs When those are hit, all that's left is for you to grab the Mossberg shotgun one more time and breach the third and final door.
Inside, you'll engage three Hit that third target, and the clock stops.
Whoever completes the course with the best time wins.
All right, shooters.
Let's get down to business.
We flipped a coin to determine the shooting order.
Gary, you're all geared up.
Step up to the firing line.
Let's do this.
Whoo! Let's go, Gary.
Let's go Gary! Have some fun.
Gary: I am very confident now knowing what it is and the weapons involved and the tactics that I am gonna have to employ.
I'm very confident in my ability to be able to perform, perform under pressure, and perform with these weapons.
Donaldson: Coming up on "Top Shot" Go! [ Gunshot .]
Boom! Blows that door off its hinges! First target hit! Second target hit! Third target! Whoo! Time! All right.
Let's start the elimination challenge.
The shooter to make it through the third door and take out the final target with the best time wins and avoids elimination.
Not so for the loser.
You are headed home.
The winner of every elimination challenge also gets a $2,000 gift card to use at bass pro shops.
For the sake of fairness, I'm gonna ask that Chee step away from the course until it's your turn to go.
Good luck, Gary.
Good luck to you.
Good luck, Gary.
Go ahead and sling the Mossberg.
Let's do this.
Good luck, Gary.
Here we go.
Marksman, ready Set, go! Gary comes up loading the Mossberg.
Gets it into position.
[ Gunshot .]
Breaches the door.
Grabs the fn fs2000, has three targets he needs to take out.
Loads the magazine in the bullpup.
First target hit! Second target hit! Third target! Wasting no time! Tables the fn.
Boom! Blows that door off its hinges! Making his way through.
Three more targets downrange.
Hits the second target and the third! Gary's smoking the course! Goes over, tables the fn.
One more door to breach.
Door's open.
He's making his way to the end of the course! Gary hits the first target! The second target explodes! Third target hit! Time! Nice run! Wow! That was awesome.
[ Laughs .]
Gary: I thought in the back of my mind that if Chee was gonna beat me, he'd have to put up one heck of a number.
I had a very clean, smooth run.
I missed a couple targets here and there, but I did it smoothly.
Chee: Yeah, I am definitely here for the entire experience of "Top Shot," you know? It's just not "Top Shot" if you don't at least face the elimination challenge once.
All right, Chee.
Sling the Mossberg.
Let's do this, brother.
Here we go.
Marksman, ready Donaldson: Set, go! Chee goes up to the door.
Loads up the Mossberg chainsaw shotgun.
Grabs the fn fs2000, grabs his magazine.
Lock and load.
Downrange firing.
First target hit! Second target hit! Third target! Wasting no time making his way over to the second station.
He's got two more doors to breach.
[ Gunshot .]
That door's open.
Grabs the fn, making his way down.
Gets into position.
First target hit.
Second target.
Chee nails the third target! A bit of a stumble there going around the corner, and now he gets to the third and final door.
One more round jacked into the Mossberg.
[ Gunshot .]
Ohh! Fails to breach the door with that shot! That's gonna cost him some time! Chee: Missing that first breaching shot was definitely a shocker to me.
For a split second, I thought, "oh, crap.
" Donaldson: Now he's got it open! Grabs the fn! He's got to pick up the pace here at the very end! Three targets left! Chee hits the first The second And third! Time! I don't have any idea.
[ Chuckles .]
Chee: Not being able to take down that door in my first shot cost me a couple of seconds.
I just had a couple of hiccups here and there.
You know, definitely could have been a bit faster.
Chee, your total time making your way through the house taking out all the targets Pretty fast.
Gary, you made it through the house taking out all your targets In 56 seconds.
Greg: Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Congratulations.
You just smoked it.
Chee: You took me down, man.
Donaldson: Come get your gift card to bass pro shops.
Rejoin these guys in the green jerseys.
Nice work.
Gary: When Colby announced that I had beat Chee by nearly 18 seconds, I was thrilled but disappointed.
You know, it sucks sending, you know, a good friend like that home.
On the other hand, you know, if it was me in his situation, I would feel honored to be sent home by a friend.
Chee, you've had a hell of a run, brother.
Mm-hmm.
But you have fired your last shot.
You've now been eliminated from "Top Shot.
" Take a moment to say goodbye to these fellas before you take off.
Sure.
Chee: I am definitely proud of myself for making it this far.
But, you know, this is not over for me.
I'm definitely gonna look for a university that has a shooting team and try to apply for them.
You did awesome, buddy.
I'm just very proud to have met these guys.
They're so guys and gals, of course you know, they're just great people.
And, you know, definitely I leave here a better man because of them.
Five of you a 20% chance of heading home with a $100,000 prize, the title of History's "Top Shot," and, for the first time, a professional contract to be a sponsored marksman.
It only gets tougher.
And by the nature of the beast, the cream rises to the top.
You guys head back to the house.
I'll see you tomorrow at practice.
On the next episode of "Top Shot" This thing is just awesome.
Donaldson: The marksmen take on one of the most badass weapons in the history of warfare.
Gary: Oh, God, yes.
This is the coolest thing that's ever been on "Top Shot.
" Donaldson: Then it all comes down to memory.
Smoke the targets from your box and avoid the decoys.
To decide, who will reach The final four.
