SEAL Team (2017) s04e12 Episode Script
Rearview Mirror

Previously on SEAL Team
Sonny Quinn's gonna be a dad.
- Wait, who's the lucky lady? - It's complicated.
Ray's got more of the balance that I'm looking for.
Built a family and a relationship that's unshakeable.
Move in with me.
NAIMA: I overheard what they were saying - about going after the person who tortured you.
- (SCREAMING) I was protecting you, baby.
Building a wall between us isolates you from this family.
Nobody's allowed to know what we have.
Get to a point where there's more reasons to break up - than stay together.
- PANEL PRESIDENT: We find the defendant, Master Chief Jason M.
Hayes, - not guilty.
- EMMA: "His leadership in the field is second to none, and I have never known an operator more committed to Navy.
Theo Papadakis".
That's a blast from the past.
(GUNS FIRING) Came from the country Last of the bare knuckle fighters Yeah, I'm an American UDT - RAY: All three dead nuts, center mass.
- (GROANS) Come on.
Are you kidding me right now, Lee Harvey Blondewald? Quadruple or nothing, Sonny? - You racked up some serious debt, man.
- SONNY: What? Uh, you know what? I am done betting on myself.
I'm taking Bravo 1.
Well, might not be wise, betting on the guy that's been off the range for a minute.
CLAY: Round of drinks says Jace can't put three rounds through one hole in the T-zone.
I will take that wager! Let's go, baby.
Come on! Never been the one to run away Round the world with a gun in my hand Damn right Baby, I'm a frogman I'll be damned.
- No! Come on! - (CHEERS) - Give me that one! (LAUGHING) - Get out of here! Are you kidding me? - Top-shelf, baby! - Top-shelf, baby! You know, I don't know what's a bigger betrayal: uh, government coming after me or, uh, Ray and Clay doubting my shooting skills.
Yeah, you're right.
I should've known.
Shooting's not a perishable skill for Bravo 1.
SONNY: That trial put no hitch in his giddyup.
That's why that single malt is gonna taste so damn sweet - on the Blonde Brutus's dime.
- CLAY: Time out.
Can we talk about something here? Scotch? Sonny, that's a little fancy for a frogman.
Bravo 1's a free man.
Okay? No better reason right there than to go top-shelf.
- Top-shelf! (LAUGHS) - (SONNY LAUGHS) - Here you go, buddy.
- Yep! Yep.
Hey, Sonny.
Sonny, Sonny, this - Listen up here, buddy.
- (LAUGHING) Since we won't be at the big baby shower next week in Texas, Bravo owes you a proper send-off into fatherhood.
One that doesn't involve pin the diaper on the donkey.
There you go.
- Oh.
Is this for, uh, the baby or me? - Both of you.
- (ALL LAUGH) - CLAY: Kid's got to learn to learn how to change you - after a rough night there, buddy.
- SONNY: Oh.
And learn how to drive to get your impaired ass home from the boom-boom room.
- Oh! Come on, now.
- JASON: Yeah, you know what, being a dad's not gonna be your only nightmare.
(VOCALIZING) SONNY: Oh, yeah.
Come on.
Come on.
Aah, get out of here.
Come on.
Your guys's confidence in my, uh, ability as a parent is, uh It's overwhelming.
Yeah.
Where am I supposed to put this? In my cage? Come on.
(HELICOPTER WHIRRING IN DISTANCE) Hey.
I'm sorry.
- I'm sure that had to be a little awkward.
- Uh, I can handle it.
(CLEARS THROAT, CHUCKLES) Well, it'll get easier once you go to Echo and you know, and then you and Sonny can be public.
Yeah, that would've made things easier.
What do you mean, "would've"? You didn't get it? It went away thanks to Jason's trial.
(INDISTINCT SHOUTING IN DISTANCE) Sorry.
Where's that put you and Sonny? I got a lot of work to do.
- All right.
- Okay.
Do all the dogs get nail polish? - Yes.
- What's, uh, what's his name? This is Tilly, and she's a terrier.
Her best friend's Goliath, but they don't always - get along sometimes.
But they're still best friends.
- (DRILL WHIRRING) Yeah.
Are you okay, Daddy? - (WHIRRING STOPS) - (CHUCKLES): Yeah.
Yeah, I'm fine, baby girl.
Are you trying to tell Daddy something with all these puppies? Yeah.
They're more best friends than him, which is kind of sad, but it's just 'cause - he's a little bit younger.
- (DRILL WHIRRING) I think his name should be, like (RAY SCREAMING) Yo! Hey! Excuse me? Uh, excuse me.
- (WHIRRING STOPS) - You mind holding off on the work till we're back inside? - I'll be done in a minute.
- (DRILL WHIRRING) JAMEELAH: She's a terrier.
- Her best friend - Hey! - Hey! - NAIMA: Ray.
- Raymond! - Hey, I told you Raymond.
(WHIRRING STOPS) Please.
You're scaring her.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
Used some, uh I used some orange bitters in here this time.
Ooh, fancy.
- Can I try? - Mm-hmm.
All right.
Cheers.
- Cheers.
- Mm-hmm.
Mmm.
That's a good old-fashioned.
- Hmm.
- You finally got it dialed in, babe.
Thanks to finally having some free time from Bravo.
- Mm.
- Jason's trial was pretty inconvenient for us.
I mean, I always imagined moving in together would mean more together, but we have plenty of time to make this place ours.
I understand that you had to be there for Jason.
He's not just your team leader.
Yeah.
No, sure, I I look up to him as an operator, but I told you, you know, Ray's got the home front balance that I want.
So, you're gonna operate like Jason - and domesticate like Ray? - Mm-hmm.
All right.
(BOTH MOAN) All right, so, back to the big plan here.
We ply Dr.
Waters and his wife with booze so he'll put you on the curriculum committee.
Well, hopefully, my, uh, track record in the English department will do that.
Cocktails can't hurt.
Neither will your, uh, dazzling personality.
Well, I've been reading up on my Flannery O'Connor, so Things we do for love.
If only bourbon would solve how to make this place into an acceptable dining area.
Maybe we should just make a reservation somewhere.
- You know? - No.
You promised him a home-cooked meal in your new place, and we're gonna deliver.
Okay? (LOCK BEEPS, DOOR OPENS) (JET PASSING OVERHEAD) (DOOR CLOSES) Thought you went home.
I did.
After all that waiting around during your trial, I realized I needed to knock the rust off in the gym.
That the only rust that needs knocking off? Jordan's in my rearview.
So is Raqqa Jacques, the trial, all of it.
I'm front-sight focused.
- You slayed your dragon.
- Yours, too.
- About damn time we found the next one, huh? - Yeah.
Hey, you keep in touch with, uh, Papadakis? - Theo? - Yeah.
We exchange texts every once in a while.
Why? Yeah, he wrote me this, uh, letter for the, uh, "good sailor" book.
Ah, and after being sequestered during the trial, you realized how much it sucks being alone without your brothers.
Yeah, he was, uh He was there for me, and I just wish I had been there for him.
It's not exactly like you to look at the past, brother.
Yeah.
Trial just brought things up in me.
Guilt, grief, remorse.
Team guy buried treasure.
Kind that don't make us rich, right? Theo's letter meant something to me.
Helped me lighten the load.
Well, if it means that much to you, he's up in Seaford.
About an hour away.
(LAWN MOWER WHIRRING IN DISTANCE) (CAR ENGINE STARTS) (CLEARS THROAT) (DOOR OPENS) Theo.
Hey.
- It's been a long time.
- Yeah.
- (FRIDGE DOOR CLOSES) - Here you go.
- Here.
- Thanks, man.
Cheers.
Here's to, uh, Bravo, past and present.
But mostly past.
(CHUCKLES) Have a seat.
How're my former teammates? (GRUNTS) Sonny and Ray are the only ones left? Well, Sonny, he's, uh (CHUCKLES) Look at that.
Sonny's having a kid.
- A kid? - (LAUGHS) - (LAUGHS) - And, uh, Ray, well He's still den mother? - Pretty much.
- Yeah.
I heard about his captivity.
- How's he holding up? - He's good.
He's good.
You know, all that training that we do helped get him through it, so he's gonna be all right.
- Ignore and override? - Ignore and override.
Yeah.
Look, I, uh I really a-appreciate the that letter you wrote me.
Means a lot.
The least I could do for the best door-kicker I've ever worked with.
That's high praise coming from the one teammate - I couldn't catch on the O-Course.
- (CHUCKLES) Think I was fast then, you should see me now.
(GRUNTS) Half the man, twice the frogman.
It was Afghanistan.
Zhari District.
October 2013.
You were chasing down some Talimonster.
Grenade in the hallway.
- Bad deal.
- You did your job.
Bagged the HVT, got me home.
Well, most of me.
(LAUGHS) So, how long has it been? Geez, seems like When's the last time I saw you? You can't remember that, but you can remember the worst day of my life perfectly? (CHUCKLES) Uh The last time I saw you, I invited you over for a barbecue, celebrate my new leg.
You never showed.
Well, I'm here now.
(FOOTSTEPS APPROACHING) NAIMA: Jameelah's finally asleep.
I told her you were under a lot of stress at work.
She asked me what made it different than other times.
I didn't know what to say.
I'm okay, Naima.
- I promise.
- It's one thing to hide you're sleeping down here from the kids, but now you're scaring them.
I'm just wound up from the trial, that's all.
You haven't been right for weeks now.
We haven't been right.
If you're not going to talk to me, then you need to talk to someone.
I Been there.
Okay, baby? I've checked all those boxes with the Navy shrinks and been declared fit to operate, okay? "Fit to operate" isn't the same thing as "fit to live with".
Maybe it's better if I'm gone.
THEO: I never could stop myself from tinkering with my gear.
- Yeah.
- Hawking knives was a logical next step.
You know what, seems like business is good.
Mm.
Kept me busy.
Needed that.
The transition out of the teams was that rough? Uh, I lost my leg, lost my brothers, lost the chaos.
- Chaos.
- Yeah.
Took me a long time to realize I needed to forgive myself.
For what? Things we saw, things we did.
I know we were on the right side of things, but doesn't mean everything we did feels right.
You know what chaps my ass? Ancient cultures, the Greeks, the samurai, they knew that they had to sanitize their warriors after battle to help them heal.
But not here.
Public doesn't want to see the things that we can't unsee.
I mean, it's like, "Thank you for your service.
Good luck restoring your soul".
Well, amen to that.
Seems like you figured it out though.
Yeah, would've been easier if I wasn't popping oxy every day.
(CHUCKLES) Was that a parting gift from your leg? - (CHUCKLES) No, man.
- (CHUCKLES SOFTLY) I was actually using a lot more while I was on Bravo.
I never noticed.
Because you didn't want to.
You saw what you wanted: mission success.
I don't think that's fair.
Man, I was pumping more pills than Big Pharma.
And as long as I was pulling my weight downrange, that's all you cared about.
I'm saying, as the team leader, it's my job to make sure that my men get home safe.
Look, brother, I forgave you a long time ago.
I learned not to expect you to be something that you're not.
What do you mean by that? You weren't personally invested in my issues.
You were my team leader, nothing more.
(BEEPING) (EXHALES, SNIFFS) - (EXHALES) - (CLICK) (FABRIC RUSTLING) CLAY: Hey.
Never seen you hang that anywhere that wasn't a C-17.
S.
A.
busywork kept me after hours.
Decided to crashed here as not to bother the family, you know? Yeah.
- (GRUNTS) - You, uh you always bring a go bag when you work late? (CHUCKLES) I, uh needed some space to cool off.
You'll learn that soon enough.
Hey, why don't you come crash with us.
Come on, man.
DEVGRU sleepover's a lonely straw to pull.
Uh (CHUCKLES) You and Stella should be enjoying the perks of cohabitation.
I'm not gonna impose on that.
Come on.
She won't mind.
Come on, dude.
Naima would kill me if I let you sleep in here with Sonny's nasty-ass laundry pile.
(CHUCKLES) - All right.
- All right? Yeah.
(MUTTERING) (FOOTSTEPS APPROACHING) (KNOCKING) Lieutenant Davis.
After the disappointing news of Echo, I think I have something promising to pass along.
An opportunity.
At SOCOM? You'd be serving every Tier One asset in the United States military.
I'd hate to lose you, but, uh, once-in-a-career opening.
Yes, sir.
It is.
Course, you'd have to leave Virginia Beach.
Do you have a problem with that? No.
No problem at all, sir.
You know, SOCOM would be, uh, very lucky to have you.
So I hope you consider it.
Thank you.
- Sir.
- Master Chief.
Yeah.
I just overhead.
SOCOM? Wow.
You would, uh You'd leave Bravo, with all-all your history here? Honestly, the history's the why.
I mean, I started out changing batteries on NODs, and now I'm responsible for sending you all into the fire.
After all this time, you're more than just operators.
You're family.
Job would be a lot easier if we aren't.
The job would be a lot easier if I could see everyone as their call signs first.
I wish I was more like you, Jason, but I'm not.
(GROANS SOFTLY, EXHALES) Oh! Like what you done with the place.
(CHUCKLES) Thanks.
I can take zero credit.
(GRUNTS SOFTLY) (COUNTRY MUSIC PLAYING SOFTLY) Hi, honey.
- Hey.
- Hey.
- Mwah.
- Mwah.
- Hello.
Welcome.
- Hey.
Hey.
- Come here.
- (GRUNTS) - Come on.
Uh, make yourself at home.
- (GRUNTS) It's already kind of you to take me in.
I don't need a five-star spread.
Oh, well, you're lucky, 'cause I don't usually make one.
This is not for me.
I'm intruding.
I had a work thing scheduled, and everything was halfway there anyway when Clay called and said that you were coming.
So I just figured it'd be easier to finish the thought.
Plus, it's better that our first guest should be family, right? I don't want to put you guys out.
You're not putting us out.
Plus, I get to test out the menu.
On you.
- (CHUCKLES) - Work out the kinks.
(CHUCKLES) But you should maybe call Naima and tell her that you're here.
She-she must be worried.
Yeah, she probably is.
I'll give her a call.
Okay.
(CHUCKLES) I'm sorry about - about dinner with - No, no, no, no, no.
Just two months ago, I held Naima's hand as she faced the reality of maybe never seeing Ray alive again.
And now he's sleeping on our couch.
It puts things in perspective.
(JETS ROARING) LINDELL: Gentlemen, apologies for the short notice, but Charlie Team has been stood down after their OIC was injured in a car accident.
You will deploy in their place for eight weeks.
Wheels up at 2000.
CLAY: We're leaving for two months, no warning? The old Tier One heads-up.
Where we headed? SOTO: Northwest Africa and the Sahel.
CLAY: I lived there with my grandparents.
They were missionaries.
Area's rife with tribalism, corruption and terrorism.
Turning the region into a new playground for AQ and ISIS.
SOTO: Continent's natural resources have appeal to global superpowers, too.
Russia and China have each taken their own bites of the apple over the past two decades.
They've traded weapons and infrastructure for mineral rights and political power in at least a dozen developing nations.
And after the drawdown in Afghanistan, this is SOCOM's next primary AO.
Your tasking while deployed will be degrading the military capabilities of Boko Haram, which have increased significantly in recent months.
Yeah, they've been running around unchecked for over a decade.
It's time we get reacquainted with 'em.
Warrant Officer Perry, you'll be read in on the Ops Order en route.
Roger that.
But, um, where exactly is "there"? There are no bases in Western Africa.
No.
But there is the USS Keating - sailing off the coast of Nigeria.
- (JASON WHISTLES) - Oh, come on, man.
- (CHUCKLING) Seriously, I did not join the Navy to end up on a damn ship.
Well, at least it's not a submarine, Sonny.
JASON: Well, it's not the Navy without the water, Sonny.
So, time to sink or swim.
- All right, boys.
- Yeah, man.
(GROANS SOFTLY) (SONNY GRUNTS SOFTLY) Sonny, you good? Yeah.
You know, uh, can't say that spending the next eight weeks nuts-to-butts with my fellow sailors has got me all tingly.
Yeah.
Yeah, you know, uh (GRUNTS) It's a good thing that you're missing this baby shower.
I mean, outside the wire, that's your happy place.
(BOTH CHUCKLING) I would much rather be at the baby shower than taking Navy showers.
Besides, uh, Hannah's due in six weeks, and even I can do the math.
This is your job, man.
Don't beat yourself up.
- Yeah.
Right? - Yeah.
I'm, uh, better equipped to be a executioner than a nurturer anyway.
Look, man, I-I know how you feel.
I do.
I-I wasn't always there for my kids either.
You know, one thing you could do is update your will.
Yeah.
Update your will.
In case you get killed over there, then your kid has all your benefits.
- Right.
Might-might as well, uh - Yeah.
be good for something anyway, right? Okay.
That's a good chat.
Good chat.
CLAY: And by the time I'm back, you'll be a member of the curriculum committee.
Without you playing bartender tomorrow night, I am not so sure.
(CHUCKLES) I hate leaving when we're just settling in.
Yeah.
Have to learn how to handle things without you.
Might as well start now.
- Right? - Mm.
(CHUCKLES SOFTLY) - Did you hear anything about Ray? - Uh Yeah, he was he was headed home to make things right before we take off.
Hope it's something they can fix in a few hours.
They've made it work for years.
My money's on them.
If they can't make it, who can? Here we go.
Ah, there it is! (LAUGHS) Meet the, uh, famous Cerberus.
I appreciate you, uh, taking care of him - while I'm away.
- Yeah.
Will be good to have some company around here.
Might help me find the next former Mrs.
Papadakis.
You know, uh I should've been there for you after the injury.
And I wasn't.
And I'm sorry about that.
And that guilt made you feel like some companionship might do me some good? He's more than a companion.
That's a national treasure right there.
Hope some of that greatness rubs off on you.
(BOTH LAUGH) Yeah, I'll-I'll take it.
I'll take it.
But I don't need your help right now.
Your teammates do.
My teammates know I have their six.
Yeah.
But being a SEAL was all I knew.
And my reentry process after my injury would've been a hell of a lot smoother without a busted marriage and popping pills.
And all that baggage that comes from war it just doesn't go away when you stop.
Easiest part about being an operator happens outside the wire.
So if you really want to protect your brothers, you can't just be their sheepdog when you're downrange.
Yeah.
Nothing like a diabetic coma to send me off right, huh? Well, you did let RJ make your sundae.
Kid's got zero impulse control.
His mama's sweet tooth.
Hey, um listen, baby, I'm I'm-I'm sorry for blowing up the other day.
It's just with my ops going sideways and being away from this family, I I feel like I'm coming up short on all fronts.
Which is why I keep telling you I'm here to help.
No, baby.
It's on me to handle my business.
Hey, but we'll work the problem when I'm back.
Together.
Yeah.
I got that damn butterscotch taste in my mouth.
You got any mints? What the hell? What's this cash for? In case of any problems.
Problems like what? Oh.
(SCOFFS) I see.
I'm the problem.
No, Ray.
The problem's whatever you've bottled up inside since Tunisia.
I've tried to be patient, but losing it on our neighbor in front of Jameelah? You're like a time bomb.
And I won't let our kids get caught in the explosion when you go off.
Problem solved.
You won't have to worry about me for two months.
SONNY: You know I had a streak going? Most consecutive deployments in the teams not on a ship.
Yeah.
I am the Cal Ripken of sticking to dry land.
Hey, can you do me a favor please and tell Clay that we're done so he stops inadvertently pouring salt in our wounds? Our wounds? Well, this is the first non-work-related conversation we've had.
Of course.
I mean, it's hard coming to work with you If we're gonna be cooped up on a ship together, boundaries are even more important.
Well, we're still friends, ain't we? Friends is a gateway for us.
We got to be mature about this.
(INDISTINCT CHATTER) (SIGHS) So, uh, Stella okay with you blowing out? Yeah.
Yeah, no, I guess so.
She's good.
Hey, Ray.
- Yo.
- First deployment I can remember us not walking on together.
Sorry.
Family wanted every second I could give them.
Never gets easier, does it? Getting yanked from the home front with no warning is never easy.
Well, it's not Bravo's first rodeo.
Let's hope so.
Still a lot of eyes on the team despite your acquittal.
Bravo needs to keep things on the straight and narrow the next eight weeks.
There's anything you need to worry about, I'll let you know.
Trust me, my team is primed.
(MECHANICAL WHIRRING) - ("RAISE THE FLAG" BY AIRBOURNE PLAYING) - The battle ain't over The fight goes on MAN: Delta, proceed.
Cleared for landing.
We'll never surrender Still standing strong We're stoking the flame with high octane We'll never weaken of all Now is the time for you and I to answer the call Raise the flag, raise the flag Come on, raise the flag Yeah, raise the flag For rock 'n' roll Raise the flag We're taking ground Every night and day We got the pedal down Yeah, we're going all the way.
All righty.
You guys are down there.
Officers' berths are this way.
Oh, I see how it is.
Warrant Officer Perry's too good for his enlisted man racks.
Ready briefing's in an hour.
See you boys then.
Oh.
(INDISTINCT CHATTER) Oh.
Get comfy, boys.
This makes our hooches at FOB Fenty feel like the Ritz.
That's for sure.
Hey, well, these tight quarters? No way you're gonna be able to escape - Full Metal's night terrors.
- You know what's scary? I don't sleep.
Think about that.
(SONNY SIGHS) - Lack of vitamin D, sober as a Mormon, - (LAUGHTER) competing for breathable air.
No free men should live like this.
There's no freedom in the Navy.
All right? You want to get some air? Go to the gear room, unload some pallets.
Here, help him out, will you? Do something with yourselves.
Come on, sunshine, let's go.
Let's turn that frown upside down.
Things looked a little icy earlier with you and Davis.
- Is everything good? - Yeah.
I heard about her not getting the Echo job.
Yeah, the Davis fire is officially out.
Just too many hurdles for us to jump over.
I'm sorry, man.
Well, you know, once you're back stateside, it's a new chapter.
You'll be a dad.
(CHUCKLES): Yeah, except having a kid and being a dad are two completely different things.
You can do both.
(LAUGHING): C-Come on, man.
I mean, you heard what the guy said about me.
I'm not exactly dad material.
You know, the thing with Davis at least I had a fighting chance of keeping my act together.
There's just no way in hell my knuckle-dragger ass is gonna be able to handle this dad thing alone.
Look, Davis was with you because of who you are, not who she made you.
Quinn, I need someone to rep Bravo at General Quarters each day.
- Think you can handle that? - Yes, sir.
Oh, waking up at the ass crack of dawn to be Soto's secretary.
The hits keep coming.
(GRUNTS) That was a show of confidence, man.
Look, Soto's been on you to step up since he got here.
This might be an opportunity for you to prove to yourself that you're more than just a knuckle-dragger.
MAN (OVER P.
A.
): Fire Team, report to training exercises in seven minutes.
Everyone welcome back Chief Petty Officer Mina Hassan.
Good to see you all again.
SONNY: We haven't got our sea legs yet, and you're already kicking the hornet's nest? DAVIS: Yeah, well, there's really no time to waste, given the imminent defection of this man, Oruku Atanga.
Atanga is a high-ranking Boko Haram lieutenant who has grown disillusioned and wants to help end the violence.
He's already been vetted, and is currently in communication with the Agency.
That communication's being facilitated by a local Cameroonian warlord, Idogbe Moussa.
Moussa has a checkered history in the region, but he's been fighting Boko Haram for the last decade.
- The enemy of my enemy.
- RAY: Exactly.
Which is why our first operation will be assisting him.
MINA: Manaka, a village under Moussa's protection, is being starved out by Boko.
The past two attempts to deliver food and medical supplies have been waylaid.
Moussa's men were killed and the food stolen.
So, Bravo will accompany Moussa on the third convoy as PSD.
Once we arrive in Manaka, Moussa will deliver Atanga and his wealth of intel.
- But first, we got to play Grubhub drivers for him? - Favor op.
Teams did it for the warlords - early on in Afghanistan.
- Same rodeo, different clowns.
RAY: Op's tougher than it sounds, too.
The convoy will leave from here, just outside Kwala Ambassa.
That route's gonna take us from the foothills into the mountains.
We'll be rolling in Agency SUVs.
Yeah, it's high elevation gains, you're gonna be hitting a lot of chokepoints to get to Manaka.
- CLAY: Convoy better have some serious horsepower.
- Yeah.
SOTO: Currently, the region's considered semi-permissive.
State Department would like to keep it that way as long as possible.
- We need to keep things tight.
- We? I'll be rolling with Bravo on this one, Master Chief.
That an issue? More the merrier.
Welcome to Kwala Ambassa.
I hope you came ready for a fight.
Master Chief Hayes.
This here's Lieutenant Soto.
- We're here to help.
- Help we can use.
They're almost finished loading the truck.
- That truck there? - Yes.
Our last remaining vehicle.
These guys got to be joking, right? Oh, come on, Sonny.
We've seen worse.
SONNY: Yeah, but you ever driven worse? Hey, this heap of junk right here isn't gonna outrun anybody.
JASON: We definitely need protection, so let's up-armor it.
Look, more weight we add to this, the slower we're gonna go.
We're gonna be damn sitting ducks.
Without protection, we'll be roadkill.
Speed or security, Master Chief? Saw what happened with the last two convoys, so, let's up-armor it.
Here at driver's side.
Cover the wheels.
Let's go.
CLAY: Copy that.
DAVIS: Drone feed still isn't live? - No.
- Did you update the freqs yet? Yes, we did.
(GARBLED RADIO TRANSMISSION) Alex? Davis.
Guam, 2014.
Davis.
Yeah, of course.
I didn't place your face with that rank.
Congratulations.
Must be doing something right.
You, too, Lieutenant Commander.
So, you're running comms for the Keating? Well, it sounds better than it is.
- Let's see if we can figure out this encryption.
- Yeah.
Havoc, this is 1.
We're ready to roll.
How's our route look? DAVIS: The drone is overhead, 1, but we're not receiving the feed.
How long is that gonna take? We're working the problem.
I'll let you know when we've got it.
Gonna be on our own till they get that link up, Jace.
And we need every tactical advantage we can get.
We better get rolling.
- Come on.
- Coming.
CLAY: Glad you made things right at home before we left.
Same here, brother.
Yeah, Stella will be relieved.
JASON: Approaching the first chokepoint.
Keep your eyes open.
JASON: Clearing the chokepoint.
SONNY: Bravo 1, this is 3.
Got some lookie-loos back here giving us the stink eye.
JASON: Copy that.
Does he seem aggressive to you? SONNY: Not sure if they're running late or probing us.
JASON: We take him out now, we won't get hit later.
Bravo 2, they're coming up on your right side.
Could be wrong place, wrong time.
Or it could be Boko probing our convoy.
RAY: He's falling back.
Havoc, this is 1.
You got the ISR link up? DAVIS: Negative, 1.
Working on it.
SONNY: He's about one foot away from playing real-life bumper cars.
Want me to let a little air out of his engine block? This follows the pattern of their previous attacks.
We take 'em out now, they won't hit us later.
Maybe we should find out if he's armed first.
3 does this guy have a weapon? Other than the truck he's trying to drive up my lap, - that's a negative I don't see any.
- JASON: Roger that.
Take a warning shot.
Roger that.
Kick rocks, nerd.
Hooah! Bravo 1, this is 3.
He has backed off.
1, this is Havoc Base.
We've got eyes on you now, and you've got company.
There are three vehicles moving to intercept your course.
One of them appears to be a technical.
So much for warning shots.
If we don't get through first, they're gonna box us in.
Everybody floor it.
(ENGINES REVVING) (SHOUTS) Metal! Cargo truck's too slow.
They're gonna try and get around us.
Come on! SONNY: Hey, Jace, we can't hold up like this much longer.
Give me a bag stuff it with two HC smokes.
RAY: Well, they're gonna have a lot of lead in their boots.
J-hook left.
Speed up and shift left.
Shift left, shift left.
JASON (OVER RADIO): They're blind.
J-hook now.
Havoc, this is 1.
Enemy vehicle's bugging out.
We're Charlie Mike.
DAVIS: Strong copy, Bravo 1.
Hey, you have helped my people.
That food will feed many.
Thank you.
Just kept our end of the deal.
And I will keep mine.
(SIGHS): As always, it was a pleasure.
Ah.
Likewise.
You know got to say, after Irbid, didn't think you'd still be tagging along with Bravo.
Life got in the way.
That's too bad.
You sounded like you were ready to move on.
Well, I've got some feelers out.
Let me know if there's anything I can do.
I will.
Thank you.
Hey, I've been meaning to ask you, um what's it been like working with Comms Officer Whitshaw? Alex? He's capable, knows his stuff.
Seems like a good guy.
Good.
CLAY: Did you see my boy Ray hanging out the frickin' car there? Going full Fast & Furious.
- (LAUGHS): Dude! - RAY: And looked good doing it.
CLAY: Oh, yeah, baby.
- Hey.
- Got to admit, that smoke screen was so off-book, I probably never would have thought of it.
Sometimes it's good to throw the book out the window, huh? We all have our blind spots.
Happy to be shown my own today.
Only way to improve.
RAY: Well, playing road warrior's got me worn out, boys.
I'll see you in the morning.
SONNY: Oh, your own bunk.
Living the good life there, huh? Jealousy's a sin, Sonny Quinn.
Come on, Ray.
Tell us what it's like to be able to sit up in bed.
CLAY: Gonna be the best night's sleep you got in a minute.
RAY: Yeah, right.
What's that all about with Ray and his sleeping? Well, I mean, ship's a step up from the cages.
You know, 'cause of whatever he was dealing with at home.
Yeah, right.
SONNY: Hey.
Hey, can you hear me? HANNAH: I can hear you.
Hey, hey, sorry I-I haven't checked in in a couple days.
H-How, uh how you feeling? Good.
The baby's been kicking all day.
(CHUCKLES): Oh, yeah? Yeah.
So, where are you? I'm in the middle of the ocean.
Baby shower scare you more than shark-infested waters? Yeah, I'm not ghosting you.
I swear.
We just ripped out unexpectedly and, uh, well, I'm gonna be here for the next two months.
So the shower's out.
Yeah, and and the delivery.
I wasn't really sure you and Lisa wanted to be here for that.
I was hoping to meet her before the baby arrived.
Yeah, uh, about that, um me and, uh, Lisa, we ended up, uh well, we we finished things.
Oh, Sonny, I'm sorry.
Look, I-I know I had much more appeal as a parent with, um, a responsible Miss Lisa by my side, but, um you know, I'm I'm fixin' to give this a go solo, if, uh, you're okay with that.
Of course I'm okay with that.
You are gonna make a great father to our little girl.
(LAUGHS) (VOICE BREAKING): So Wow, it's it's a girl? Yeah.
Wow.
Little girl, huh? This is my life You're gonna be amazing.
Yeah.
It's not what it was before (LAUGHS) (EXHALES) And these are my dreams That I've never lived before Somebody shake me 'cause I I must be sleeping Ray? Now that we're here Ray, you awake? So far away Ray? We thought was in vain And all the mistakes One life contained They all finally start to go away And now that we're here, so far away
