Season 5, Episode 3
Previously on
The Amazing Race Australia
I'm so proud of you!
This is amazing!
..14 teams began the adventure
of a lifetime.
I've never felt so amazing
in my life.
Go! Go! Go!
But for two teams
Dwes, Katherine, your time
on the race is now over.
I'm just so blessed to be a part of it.
..the adventure was short-lived.
Made the decision to step out of
The Amazing Race Australia.
Then, on the Gold Coast
- There's a taxi!
- ..a rivalry erupted
Whoo!
..between two teams.
Hey, this is our one.
We may have made enemies
of Holly and Dolor.
And as the Super Sikhs slid in
for their second win
You are first to arrive.
..a twist was revealed
You'll issue
a Salvage or a Sabotage.
..pitting new rivals against each other.
I'm sorry.
I was annoyed. If I'm honest.
Tonight, the Sikhs soak up
their victory
This is just serene.
..with a day off.
While the others
blaze through the outback.
Whoo!
The Salvage will give one team
Stop! Stop! Stop!
..the ultimate power.
We're gonna teach them a lesson.
And the Mums face a Sabotage.
That one of us could not
speak for the whole leg.
How hard can it be?
OK. I don't know what
you're saying so
But could an epic blunder
Oh, sh
Someone's forgotten their bags.
..spell the end for one team?
Ooh.
Your time on the race is over.
This is Queensland's
world-famous Gold Coast,
home to nearly 60
kilometres of pristine coastline.
It's from here that our
12 remaining teams
are setting off on the third leg
of The Amazing Race Australia.
"Make your way to Winton in the heart
"..of Queensland's outback."
Oh, my God.
Let's go.
Righto. Let's go.
So we're heading into the outback.
We thought, "This is
We're all over this.
"This is great."
Right up our alley.
Departing in the order that they
arrived at the pit stop in the last leg,
teams are heading to Winton.
Out here, the heat is blistering
and it's as dry as a dead dingo.
You can walk for a week
without seeing a soul.
But there's plenty of wildlife
to keep you company.
And it's from here the teams
will get their next clue.
Cab. Cab. Cab.
Hey-hey. Yes, sir!
While the rest of the teams
head to the airport,
it's time for the bottom two teams to
find out what their Salvage advantage
and Sabotage sting will be.
Congratulations.
We Salvage you guys.
Thanks, guys.
Holly and Dolor were given a Salvage,
which is a huge leg-up in this race.
"Salvage team, you may jump
the queue at any challenge."
Perfect. Let's go.
We can jump the queue every single time.
In The Amazing Race Australia,
there are lots of challenges
where you get stuck behind other
contestants, waiting in queues.
With the Salvage,
we can jump straight to the front.
Me first.
Girls, you came last. I'm sorry.
While Jude and Shannon were
dealt a crushing Sabotage.
Sabotage. "One of you may not
speak for the entire leg."
Oh!
Oh, my God.
We've got the Sabotage
which means one of us
can't speak for the whole day.
It's gonna be really hard
to understand each other.
It has to be me because
you cannot NOT speak.
Let's go. Let's go. Let's go.
Let's go!
Whoo!
Where are these taxis?
Up here.
Let's go.
Hey, we've got this.
To get to Winton, teams have
first flown to Longreach
where, after they've received
a traditional welcome to country
..I've called them together
for a massive announcement.
Welcome to Longreach.
Now, as you all know, we lost Alex
and Jack in the last leg of the race
due to unforeseen circumstances.
So what I've decided to do
is to give a team
a second chance.
What?
Give a big Longreach welcome
..to Dwes and Katherine.
Being asked to join the race again
is just so amazing.
What a surprise.
We're just so thankful for
that opportunity to come back in
because, like, oh, my God,
it was time to redeem ourself
but time to show, like, we can be
as competitive as other teams.
We've been given this
opportunity of a second chance,
and nothing's gonna stop us.
How do you guys feel right now?
Excited and privileged to be here
with all of you guys.
Happy to see them.
We are so happy to see them.
They're such a great team.
Turns out the
Deadly Duo team was back.
- So excited to see them.
- Yeah.
It was just too early on in the game
for them to leave.
Now we will continue racing.
Race safe, race hard.
Go!
Up here. Let's get up here.
Get going.
Alright. Let's go.
It's manual but I don't care.
Going forward - cool,
calm and collected.
Stay positive.
Yep.
Oh, positive always. Yep.
I can't believe we are here
and we're starting in first place.
We could actually win this leg.
Our kids are gonna be stoked.
As a mum and dad, nice to show
the kids that you can fight
and keep that positive spirit.
We're a very competitive family
and it's good.
The kids are competitive and that's
how I want them to live life,
with drive and determination.
So, yeah, doing this for them
would be awesome.
I just wanna make them proud.
Come on!
Let's go. Let's go.
We're gonna have to hustle.
Go, go, go.
Jump in.
Let's go.
Go, go, go.
Let's go.
Boot should be opening.
Whoo! We're on our way, Kath!
Finally.
#AustralianOutback.
Being in the great outback is cool
but also scary.
I've never been this far inland
in Australia, ever.
Do you reckon there'd
be snakes out here?
There's a lot of flies outside.
Bugs. I'll get bitten.
Fly in the back.
Got rid of it now.
The teams are well
on their way to Winton
where they'll go head-to-head
in the most Aussie race ever -
the world-famous Dunny Derby.
This challenge requires teams
to pick a local of their choice -
I chose Robyn,
that's my mum's name -
and pull a mobile dunny
around a racetrack.
But there's a messy twist.
One team member must balance a bedpan
on their head, full of dunny water,
and pour it in the bucket
up to the red line.
This could take a few circuits.
That stinks.
I don't know what the liquid's
gonna be. I just hope it's not poo.
You think we're gonna be running around
with helmets of poo or pee on our head?
Well, it's a dunny.
It says you can't use your hands.
What's that?
One has to wear the helmet and
the other's gonna draw the water.
Does this technically count
as a hand
'cause I technically only have one.
Winton.
Come at us, baby.
Go, go, go.
Right, let's go.
Run, run, run. Come on.
Come on, come on. Come on.
OK, let's go.
Who's the best dunny driver?
We needed a volunteer so we picked
the lightest guy that we could.
Come on, buddy. Let's go.
So, we basically have to race an
Aussie dunny around, like, a track.
Alright. Yep.
OK, you ready?
We have to get,
like, a bedpan on the head.
Your head's not straight.
Is that better?
That is straight. OK.
Then fill it up with toilet water.
Blue toilet water!
Shit.
And then you've gotta, like, walk.
Balance it.
Balancing so
that you don't spill it.
It's all good.
Keep it going, you're doing so well.
Awesome work. Keep it up.
Keep going. Keep going.
Keep going. Keep going.
And then we need to keep filling it
up until we get to the red line.
This is gonna take us a few trips.
Got it. Got it. Yep.
There they are, there.
Let's go.
Let's do this.
You ready?
You're lucky you're with the
3-time world-champion dunny-puller here.
Are we?
Legend!
Being in the country definitely
has an advantage. Yeah, 100%.
It was a lot more
in our comfort zone.
When do you want me
to start cracking the whip?
Not just yet.
Crack it on the left-hand side,
he'll get real excited.
OK, let's go.
Come on.
Oh, wait, they have started.
We'd already had a massive disadvantage
going into this challenge,
being sabotaged today.
Because Shannon couldn't speak.
Down here. It's that one. Come on,
we'd better get in the game.
We knew we had to try and
give this challenge everything
to stay in the race.
And we were last there.
Excuse me, do we have
a dunny sitter here?
We call out for our dunny sitter.
And there comes Riley.
Riley, may I suggest you
take a seat.
And also because we were late,
we didn't have a choice.
Not quite exactly
who we had in mind.
Beast of a man.
Yes. Yes! He was great.
He was
Full-figured.
Full-figured!
Also, sorry, Riley, Shannon's
not allowed to speak today.
That's her punishment.
Righto, Riley, I'd say to buckle in
'cause we're gonna be here a while.
Let's go.
Oh.
Slow down. Don't panic.
Any time I looked
away, that's when it spilt
so we were just
full-on concentration.
We had to do four laps.
OK. Careful. Careful.
Yep. Go, go, go, go.
Come back towards me. Go, go, go!
Thank you!
Go.
"Drive to the Australian
Age of Dinosaurs Museum
"and assemble a dinosaur skeleton
for your next clue."
Winton is the home
to Australia's most significant
archaeological site.
And it's here the palaeontologists
found three unique dinosaurs,
fondly named Clancy, Matilda and Banjo.
In this challenge, each team needs
to dig up 33 wooden dinosaur bones
and accurately piece them together
into a full dinosaur skeleton.
But if they break any bones,
they'll cop a hefty time penalty
at the pit stop.
Once they've assembled
the dinosaur together,
to the satisfaction
of the palaeontologist
..they'll receive their next clue.
All the way. All the way.
All the way!
Yeow!
Thank you very much.
You have a good day.
Go.
Thank you very much.
It was a pleasure.
Thanks, guys.
Thanks, guys.
"Drive to the Australian
Age of Dinosaurs Museum."
Let's go.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Let's go. Let's go.
Someone
OK, come on, we can do this.
We're confident.
I think it's probably key
with this just to go slow
and not get flustered.
Like, it sounds like maybe the bones
are easy to break or something.
Yep.
- OK, go.
- I need you to guide me.
We started down the bottom
of the pack
but having the Salvage on our side
really got us feeling confident
about the whole leg.
I was smashing it.
Tell me when to pour it. Now? Now?
Not yet. You need to be closer.
You need to be closer.
Now?
OK, bit closer. Bit closer.
Now. Now.
Stop, stop, stop!
Stop, stop, stop!
Missed it. I told you
Let me do it.
Wow. That's what a dunny is.
A toilet.
I know it's another word for the loo.
But then again, I also thought it
was a small donkey or a small horse.
But it's a human in a dunny,
we're pulling.
You know, our life has been a
One big race.
One big race.
Steady. Slow and steady
wins the race.
I was born in Sudan, in Khartoum.
My family fled.
Kenya was taking in refugees
from the civil war in Sudan.
And that's where I met Malaan.
And we are best friends.
I'm an international model.
And I'm a public servant.
Oh, good job!
It's good that we're
entering this as friends,
because if it's a couple,
they usually bicker.
- I'll tell you when
- OK, we're fine.
Stop being stressed.
It's so annoying, honestly.
It was really, really frustrating
because a lot of the other teams
were just powering through.
We have to catch up.
- Have you got it?
- Yep.
Go forward, go forward.
Yeah?
A little bit. Keep going.
I think we did
it, babe. I think we did it!
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much.
Let's frickin' go! Let's go!
"Drive to the Australian
Age of Dinosaurs Museum."
Alrighty. Let's go.
I reckon this one's going to be hard.
Yeah.
The digging's going to be the easy bit.
Setting it up's gonna be the hard part.
Yeah, putting it together
is gonna be the hardest.
I don't mind a puzzle.
Let's go.
Good job, boys.
Good job, boys.
We're first here, yeah?
Yeah.
Going alright, eh?
Yeah. Let's go.
Alright, let's go, let's go.
What do you want, babe? Which one?
Whatever you want.
Looking for some bones here.
Yeah, so we pulled up
there and saw the digging stations.
There was digging stations
for everybody.
We had to get in there and find all
these bones that were in the
It was like a puzzle, pretty much.
You had to find all the bones
and build a dinosaur.
I know absolutely nothing
about dinosaurs.
But I am about to build one.
You thought you were a bloody
archaeologist or anthropologist.
What's an anthropologist?
They study ants.
No!
I wouldn't even know
how to say that.
What is it?
Anthropologist?
Anti-pologist.
Anthropologist.
Just think about concentrate on
your feeling where that water is.
We've been given this
opportunity of a second chance.
So we want to show them
what we're made of.
Follow me.
Keep your keep your head
back a little bit.
Yes!
Go forward. Go, go, go.
Whoo! Whoo! Yes! Yes!
Thank you very much.
Tip forward. Full tip.
Full?
Yep.
Keep going, keep going,
keep going, keep going.
Good job!
Thank you so much.
"Excavate 33 fossil bones
and assemble a dinosaur skeleton
"for your next clue."
Whoo! We got this!
Yes!
We can get it!
That's the most Aussie thing
I've ever done.
I think that's my Australian
citizenship sealed now, for sure.
Let's get 'em.
At the dunny derby,
we've dropped a few places,
so we're now starting this challenge
in the middle of the pack.
We need to fight to find these bones
so we can get back on top.
Deb, I've got one.
Good boy.
Ooh, here's a big one.
Can I get your help with this?
How cool is that?
Here. Got it.
Have you got it?
Yeah.
We are the first team
to find all 33 pieces.
Now we've got to put them together.
We wanted to smash this out
and stay in the lead.
Funny-looking leg.
This one goes in here.
Did you have a hot date tonight?
Because you might
want to let her know
that you're going to be
a little bit late.
A little bit late?
Yeah.
This is our last round.
Keep doing what you're doing,
babe, you're doing great.
Thank you.
Am I right, Shannon?
Talk to me. Tell me what I'm doing!
More? More? Stop pumping my arm
like you're doing my blood pressure.
That was a moment where
I would have loved for Shan
to be able to be talking.
Shannon would have had 50 million
brilliant one-liners to drop in.
Let's finish this off.
It's just us and the mums,
but they're a long way behind.
Alright, we'll try and go a bit quicker.
So we had a run-in with
Holly and Dolor last leg,
and there is no way I'm going to
let them beat us in this challenge.
We weren't giving up, but
this is gonna be tough. Yeah.
Just us and the mums again,
which I don't mind because
we know we can beat them.
Go backwards, go backwards.
Forward, and go backwards.
OK, ready?
Keep going, keep going, keep going,
keep going. Backwards. Backwards.
Keep going forward. Yeah, backwards.
Yeah, we've done it. We've done it.
Thank you.
Well done, babe. We killed it.
There's only one team
behind us, the mums,
but we're only about 10 minutes
behind about five other teams,
and I feel confident we're going
to catch up to the other teams.
Just relax, babe.
We got this.
We've got the Salvage, so
..we've got a lot of power in this leg.
Come on! Move them legs!
Come on, let's go!
Listen here, Robin.
I want you to take
those glasses off.
Congratulations.
There's your next clue.
Thank you, Robin.
"Drive to the Australian
Age of Dinosaurs Museum."
OK, let's go!
See yas.
You know what? If you've gotta
go out, you gotta go out on a high.
That challenge was SO hard.
We have to leg it now
to even have a chance
to catch up to the others.
We could see the Cowboys
already building their dinosaurs.
We needed to catch up to them.
One more, one more. One more.
Here, I got it.
You're doing good.
As far as we can see,
all the other teams were back
trying to dig and find their bones.
We work well together.
And we noticed we're running second.
Let's go!
Do want to try this one on yours?
Try that and if see that Hang on.
The hardest part was the build.
Yeah, probably right.
You keep going over it for a sec,
I'll keep going with these ribs.
I felt like it was like Nan's
999 puzzle with 998 pieces in it.
Like, it was always that one
that just wasn't going to work.
Does that tail go in somehow?
It was really annoying.
We knew we had the lead
on the other teams,
but we could not
work out this puzzle.
See if you can work out these,
'cause these two are the same.
I'll get the ribs sorted, eh?
Big piece, small piece,
big piece, small piece.
No. Not big enough.
All the flags are flying.
- You can see flags?
- Yeah, yeah.
Let's try not to use the hard core stuff
so we don't break anything.
I would say you keep
going straight, Shan.
Go right. No, no, right, right.
What are you pointing to?
Road train?
I don't understand
what you're pointing to.
OK.
They've only got potentially
an hour head start.
An hour maybe.
There's a chance.
There's always a chance.
The hardest thing for me,
Shannon being quiet,
was that we just couldn't
vibe off each other.
That's our thing.
Change that frown to a smile, nod.
Not talking was more challenging
than I ever, ever dreamed.
I was in a position where
there was nothing I could do.
See it's got a hole just here?
We're gonna stand this up.
It's either in one or it's
in the other. It's not in both.
At the start of the build,
we were quite confident
but, gosh, it was difficult.
Yeah.
Then I don't know what the frig these are.
Hang on. These go here.
You sure? You sure?
This is why I always want
you to do puzzles with me.
You never know when you're gonna
need to build a dinosaur.
Definitely just be careful
that you don't break anything.
Oh, I'm being uber careful.
So, let's get them down.
When we did get down to where
everyone was building
their dinosaurs,
we were one of the last teams.
But we're smart players,
so we can make that up easily.
Who's almost done?
Um
The Cowboys are really close.
Yeah, yeah.
Let's try and copy while we have a chance.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
This goes right here.
This goes right here. Yep, yep.
This fits. Look. Look, it fits.
On the corner, on the outside?
Yep, yep, yep, yep. OK.
Holly and Dolor were copying us.
It was bloody annoying.
Yeah, so, me and Holly, we're just
looking at what the Cowboys are doing
and to other groups around us,
to see how they're
constructing the dinosaur.
And then once they complete it,
we'll replicate it,
put it all together
and we're out of here.
So we'll be coming
second or third after that.
Can you take a look to see?
Yeah, I'm looking over there.
But look specifically, look for this.
Yeah, OK.
They haven't got their legs yet
but the other guys have.
That's why I'm looking at
what they've got.
Ah, OK.
We're just guessing.
We literally haven't got there yet.
Oh, yep. OK.
I get it.
Come back, come back.
OK, let's go.
Damn it, he came over
right when I figured that out.
They're definitely
in it to win it for themselves.
I don't know if I 100%
trust them at this point.
I'm very wary of them.
Oh, I love cheating on
exams, so Yeah.
If you're gonna find the answers,
you may as well just replicate it.
There's no rules against it, so why not?
What's going there?
It's alright, yeah, we're good.
We've got this.
That looks good.
Move them there and then
..those three at the back here.
The Cowboys were next to us
and they were doing really well too.
It looked like we
were both so close.
We just wanted to finish it first
so we could be back up in front.
Yep.
Can we get checked?
I'm sorry, you two. That's a fail.
Don't stress.
You don't need to get stressed.
That's got to go there
and that's got to go there.
How does that look?
It was neck and neck with Shane and Deb,
but we're not gonna
give up our lead.
Let's get her to come over
and have a look.
Sorry, fellas, but that's incorrect.
It's something here,
I'm telling you.
Put that one at the back.
Here?
Yeah.
We have to work out what it was
and we're looking at it.
That one's got to go there.
And then we realised the ribs
Had to be the ribs. Yes.
Yep.
Check, please!
Congratulations.
Thank you!
Thank you!
"Make your way to
Winton's Truck Museum."
Teams must now
go to Winton truck stop
where they'll find the sign-up board
for tomorrow's challenge.
Here they'll put their names down
in the order they arrive.
The earlier they get there,
the earlier they get
to start in the morning.
Finishing first was such a good feeling.
We could actually win this leg.
That looks heaps better.
Can we get someone to have
a look at this one, please?
Thank you.
Legend. Thank you.
Well done. Unreal.
Cheers, mate.
Done.
This is correct. I think so.
We may as well check. How's that?
Congratulations.
Thank you, yes!
Well done. Thank you!
Thank you so much. Thank you.
Let's just move quick.
We've got to do this. Let's go.
Watch out.
This is the third-last piece
if we get it right.
And now put the hands on.
Put the hands on.
Quickly, quickly.
Just can we just not rush, OK?
OK, cool.
Check, please!
Check, please!
Yes! Thank you so much!
Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you so much.
Let's go.
"Make your way to
Winton's Truck Museum."
OK.
Is it here?
Yeah, sign up here.
Oh, shall we jump in
and have a look?
Yes!
I'm team number one.
Thank you.
Team number one.
Good job, guys!
Good work, guys!
I'm so glad it's you guys! Yes!
Good get.
Well done.
Let's just do this.
My Lordy.
Shannon, come this way.
I think we're probably the last.
It was all about,
"Let's just get it done."
But at that point, it was dark.
Will we go where
the other people are?
I think they're putting
their dinosaur together, though.
We'll go ask someone.
Upside down. That way. Across.
Oh, my God.
It's OK. I think it's right.
Oh, my God.
What?
There's a small crack in it.
It's not broken.
We were really worried
because we knew
if we broke any pieces
we were gonna get a time penalty.
We're trying to put the tail on,
it's not moving.
We have a small crack.
Let's just keep building it.
Just can't move this to the side.
OK.
Whatever you do.
We have this crack in ours
and we don't want any penalty
but it's not broken
and the rules said if it's broken
but ours isn't broken.
Level two OK.
Where is it sitting?
So this one
No, the next one, babe.
The next one? You sure?
Yep.
This one goes here.
- Do you want a hand?
- Help me, help me.
- Ow, wait, wait.
- We're gonna break this.
We're gonna break this.
Here we are, yet again,
trying to catch up.
And the end of our
dinosaur tail snapped.
We've just played this game of catch-up
and then, now,
we have that time penalty.
We realised really quickly
that we could get eliminated.
Yeah, that's in. OK.
We're just going to plug that in.
We're competitive,
quite competitive.
And I thought, "We have
definitely got a chance here."
We are still in this.
Gentle, gentle.
It's alright. She's here, checking.
Congratulations, ladies.
Thank you so much!
Check, please!
- You passed.
- Yes! Oh, my God!
"Make your way to
Winton's Truck Museum."
Alright, let's go.
OK.
Come on.
We're on the home stretch now.
We're really, really close. Yeah.
Just trying to beat the other teams
and not be last.
Check, please. Check, please.
Check, please. Check, please. Hey!
It's a pass.
Thank you. Oh, my God.
Congratulations.
Thank you. Thank you.
Come on, Dad.
Oh, my gosh.
Oh, my gosh.
One more team left.
One more team left?
Yeah.
This is gonna need a miracle.
We've been working really hard
to make our way to the top
and we're back on the bottom again,
which is not a good feeling.
I saw so many lights of people,
and now they're not there.
Yeah, because
they all got lost, too.
I feel like it's around here.
What does that sign say there?
Winton Trucking Museum. OK.
Yeah, quick. Quick, quick.
Danke schoen.
Great work, guys.
Check, please.
Ladies, it's a pass
Oh!
..minus the tail.
We know we're getting a time penalty
at pit stop for breaking that bone,
so we had to get a move on.
The girls are done.
That's alright.
Let's just keep going.
What have we got to do
with the arms now?
Come on. Come on, come on.
And that. That yours?
Come on. Come on.
The fact Shannon can't speak
to me because of this Sabotage,
just makes it so frustrating.
What are we doing? There?
We are so tired.
Absolutely exhausted.
We got this, Shan.
Still in it. Still in it.
Check.
Congratulations.
Thank you. Thank you.
We're still in this,
I think. Come on.
So we're 7:25.
Good stuff, Dwes.
On the board.
Oh, there's a leaderboard.
Let's put our name at the top!
The Salvage allowed us to jump the
queue on any line in any challenge.
Lucky you, guys.
Oh, yeah, you can move everybody down.
So, we waited all day to use
the Salvage, and now's the time.
Well done.
Write here. Into here. Into one.
Out of the way. Out of the way.
Out of the way. Out of the way.
Holly and Dolor at the top.
Well done. Well done.
Damn.
That's rough.
Alright. That's OK.
Malaan, that means we have another day.
We do have another day.
We're going to sleep it off.
50 minutes - we can catch up.
Follow this road down
here, cross the railway line.
The Sabotage actually did make
a massive difference for us.
I figure we've come this far.
We're still in the game.
Let's have a look at this.
Tomorrow is a new day.
We just have to approach it with,
it is what it is and
we can only do our best.
Oh. But you're ready to go to sleep?
Is that what you're saying to me?
Or do I need to stop talking and listen?
Alright, let's go.
Last night, teams put
their names on the sign-up board
in the order they arrived.
Oh, let's go.
This morning, they're
kick-starting the day
with a bit of hard yakka.
This challenge is gonna
be truckin' awesome.
Meet my metal mate, Clancy.
He's 53 metres long, has 62 wheels,
and he's what's known as
the king of the outback roads.
In this challenge,
our teams will have to come down
to the Winton truck stop
and fit two of these huge
trucking monster wheels.
They weigh 80 kilos each,
and need to be carefully aligned.
So teams will need to use
their muscles and precise technique
to get it just right.
Once they put them on the truck
to the satisfaction of Ross,
they'll get their next clue.
There it is.
Here we are,
thinking we're first in line.
And Holly and Dolor got
moved from near down the bottom
all the way to first place
because of their Salvage.
So, we moved into second place,
and that was frustrating me.
Look at that.
Number one.
Look at youse.
Lucky youse got the Salvage, eh?
Good luck with it. Let's go and
wait over here till five past.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Hi.
Morning.
You're giving a demonstration?
OK, can we watch you? OK, thank you.
We should be able to
get this done very quickly.
Hopefully first go.
Oh, we'll do it first go for sure. 100%
We watched the demonstration.
It's pretty easy.
We can smash it out.
Yeah.
OK, you got it?
Oh, God, it's heavy.
Wow.
Oh, God, it's heavy.
Want me to help you?
How are you going to help me?
I'm just asking.
OK, I'll let you go.
Can you do it? Can you actually help me?
Yeah, let's try to do it.
Lift it up.
See how he's lifting it up.
With changing the truck tyres,
there's two tyres to it.
And you've really got to get
the first tyre up and in and on.
Then you've gotta get the
second tyre and you've gotta
Align the valves together.
You saw how the wheel bounced
when he put that there. Yep.
We were feeling pretty confident
about the truck tyres.
I've got a truck of me
own, so we thought we
would have had a pretty
good chance in there.
We both work driving trucks and
delivery vehicles all the time.
This is right up our alley.
We've got a chance to climb back up.
How much of an advantage
do the Cowboys have at this?
We don't need to watch,
do we, if we don't have to?
Righto.
So, they're not even
going to watch the demo.
We chose not to do the demonstration
because we thought we had a pretty
good idea what we were doing.
Grab that.
Make a good team, you know?
Make a solid team, bro.
That's for sure.
If there's something
that we're confident at,
we'll just steam ahead and
get into it, get it done.
One more.
Not far off, are we?
Give this to go.
Can we please get a judge?
Would you check this for us?
No good?
What is going on here?
Our dads would not have been impressed.
We knew we had a good opportunity to
come in first today, but we blew it.
Alright, Shanny. 7:55.
It's only 55 minutes behind.
We're gonna turn the
unhappy face into a
..super happy face today.
How are you feeling, Shan?
We have been in so many
high-pressure situations together
as friends.
It's my chance to step up
to prove to myself
that things I think I can do that I can.
Haven't changed a truck tyre,
but, you know, that's OK.
I mean, how hard can it be?
Shit.
No, no. Ooh!
People seem to be having a hard time.
Yeah.
Do the girls proud.
We will.
I feel like we've got a lot of
similarities, actually. We do, don't we?
Can I give you some modelling tips,
'cause I've had a few laps
of the runway myself.
Oh, OK. Show me.
Good job.
Same same.
Same same.
What's the difference?
The same.
That's all fine. Yeah,
can we have a judge, please?
Oh, thank you so much!
Thank you so much!
Thank you.
Oh, a detour.
A detour is a choice
between two challenges,
each with its own pros and cons.
In this detour, teams will travel
to the far side of Longreach
and choose either Pick or Polish.
They say Australia was
built on the sheep's back,
and teams who choose Pick will
find out why here at Camden Station.
Each team must collect freshly
shorn fleece from the shearer
and clean enough wool,
removing all dirt and burrs,
to fill an entire bale.
They must then roll the
full bale to the farmer,
who will give them their next clue.
Meanwhile, teams who choose Polish
will head to the massive
Longreach Solar Farm.
It's so big, it can power
150,000 Aussie homes
and it's even visible from space.
Here, they need to clean 42 -
that's right, 42 - solar panels
out in the blistering Aussie heat.
Pick. We're gonna Pick.
Pick. Let's go.
Let's go. 'Cause we're ahead.
I'll get you to have a look here
if that's alright, boss?
Yeah, RMS approved?
Oh, champion.
Legend. Thank you very much.
Can we get a check?
Thank you!
Oh, my God.
Thank you. Oh, my God.
OK. Pick or Polish?
Pick.
Done.
Polish, I reckon.
Yeah, Polish too.
Alright, Polish it is. Let's go.
Let's go.
Got your seatbelt on?
Yes, Mum.
Can't believe I did not put
them friggin' valves the same.
The same. Facing each other.
Dad's gonna kick my arse.
They'll both be like, you
You idiot.
Anyway, we got it done.
We've left here in second, so
We're third now but, you know, we
can potentially end up being second,
maybe first again.
The Salvage paid off big time.
Hello!
The detour was a Pick or Polish,
and we chose to pick.
Ready?
Let's go, Deb.
So, guys, we've just got to take the
blackened edges away from the sides.
OK.
Where the sheep had been
in the grass or anything,
they get burrs all over them
and the black where they've
rubbed up against stuff.
We had to clean all the edges up.
Yeah, so we picked that wool challenge.
It's a bit closer to home for us.
Yeah.
Yeah, good one, mate.
Best job I've done.
I cart sheep in the truck and
I work around sheep farming,
so we thought we'd be a bit more
confident with that one and have a go.
Feeling heaps more at home out here.
This is good.
Brendon and Jackson are great boys,
but ultimately,
we still want to beat them.
Let's go, Deb.
There so could be snakes here.
We were the first team in the
Polish challenge when we arrived.
We had to clean solar panels.
42 of them.
And make sure they were spotless.
OK, here we go.
OK. Grab a broom each.
OK. Need a brush?
Yep.
Hang on.
You sure you got this one?
Yep.
OK.
OK, so
You're gonna go high and I'm gonna go low?
Yep.
Dolor actually likes cleaning.
I don't mind cleaning.
Oh, easy.
You're so good at this.
Just water on a brush. Easy.
This challenge was easy.
We'll be done within the next,
I reckon, 20 minutes?
Yeah.
I think we're good, Jake.
Can we please get a check?
Yes. Yes.
Come on. Two girls,
we've done a good job.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much!
Detour.
Pick or Polish.
Polish?
Yeah.
The Pick, for sure.
Wanna do the shearing? Let's do the
shearing one. Yeah, let's do shearing.
Let's go. Let's do Polish.
We killed that! Yeah!
People are just finishing the task
and we just can't get this damn tyre up.
Just felt like a real kick in
the teeth to fall all the way
back down to the bottom of the pack.
Being a competitive ballroom dance
couple, we want to push each other,
be there for each other.
Ready?
Ready.
We love to compete and
to challenge ourselves.
Because we have
a great relationship
even when we're feeling down,
and we can get through this.
Let's turn this like this
just a little bit.
Like, it needs to be up.
OK.
We started to see the other teams
were finishing up.
We definitely do not
want to get eliminated.
Then we were like, "We need to
pick up the pace with this."
Yep. Good job.
A lot of burrs on this one here.
What's this one been
rolling in, a burr patch?
It's was takin' forever but
you just tuck your chin and work.
Few more burrs up here.
Hey, boys.
Girls are here.
What we need to see is the burr
and the black edges
away from the fleece.
And what tools do we have?
Just your hands.
Oh, OK.
These burry bits, get rid of all that.
It's just time-consuming, so I just
had to work as quickly as I could.
It's like this stuff
Yep, just get all that, yep.
Bit closer to home this challenge.
Yeah, I reckon.
Especially when you're off the land.
I haven't done this,
but I've carted them.
Love it.
No, it's a bit easier than
what I would have been
polishing them bloody
Solar panels.
..solar panels.
Oh, yeah. This is way better
than the wool challenge.
The wool challenge.
Like, this is really easy.
And no other team is here,
which is a really good sign.
Hopefully there's still a couple
of solar panels to be done.
OK.
Let's go.
Oh, wow. I was imagining
just the one panel.
Uh-oh.
That's a lot of solar panels.
I thought it would be easy.
Ready?
But you know it's this one?
You don't know for sure?
We're in the bottom three again.
If we could jump even just one
place, that would be so good.
No, but it's up on that.
Has it gotta go up more?
The fact Shannon can't speak
to me because of this Sabotage
just makes it all so hard.
OK, I don't know what
you're saying, sorry.
Did I miss that?
I think I'm working against you.
What do you want me to do?
There was a lot more solar panels
than we imagined we would be cleaning.
42, to be exact.
This is the first time
that Mum would see Dad and I
pick up a broom or a bucket.
What?! No, I always do this.
Why are you doing it again?
Huh?
What?
Don't do it again. It's clean.
Now I've gotta go do the bottoms again.
OK, do it again, then.
I just cleaned the bottoms.
Why are you getting
so frustrated out of nowhere?
'Cause I wanna move on to
the next one. It's good.
Alright. Almost done.
OK, cool.
Alright.
OK, let's get it checked.
Excuse me! Excuse me! Can
we get a judge to check, please?
Not quite good enough, guys.
Ah! Told you.
OK.
See how there's still dirt
on yours here?
Where? No, that's not dirt.
OK, well, then, we'll just
stay here forever, then. Far out!
Make sure we get all them edges
and all them burrs.
Feels like we've been here
for bloody ages.
Do you reckon it's,
like, this stuff?
Yep. Just get all that. Yep.
It just seemed to take forever.
I immediately thought we'd
chosen the wrong detour,
and that can cost you a lot of
time in The Amazing Race.
There you are. See? Over there.
No, that's all beaut. That's good.
Congratulations -
that's an acceptable fleece.
Thank you so much.
Now we're gonna get a bale.
We then had to go outside and
we had to roll a bale of wool
To a truck.
That was, like over yonder.
Who would've thought wool
would've been so heavy?
My lungs are burning.
Oh.
Whew!
Well done.
Oh! Thank you, mate.
Oh! Thank you so much. Thank you.
Thank you. Thanks, mate.
Go.
OK.
Pit stop, please.
"Make your way to the
Stockman Hall of Fame
"..to find Beau at the pit stop!
"Hurry! Last team to arrive
might be eliminated!"
Back in 1988, Her Majesty
Queen Elizabeth II
visited Longreach to open
the Stockman's Hall of Fame.
And it's here the teams will find
me, and one team will be eliminated,
at the pit stop of the third leg
of The Amazing Race Australia.
Hey-ya!
So, we left the sheep first, but
the Cowboys went right behind us.
You right?
Yep.
Let's go.
Nearly there.
Well done, guys.
Champion. Thanks, mate.
Cheers, mate.
Appreciate it.
Appreciate it.
Thank you.
"Hurry! The last team to arrive"
I know where that is.
"..may be eliminated."
Let's go.
Right, get the Kath & Kim walk going, mate!
Right?
Yeah, bro.
Pit stop next. Just keep going.
This is an acceptable fleece.
Whoo!
Yay!
Alright - scooch, scooch, scooch,
scooch, scooch, scooch, scooch.
Don't stop - we've got this.
We can do it. Push through
the pain. We're not weak.
Hey!
Well done.
Thank you so much.
Thank you. Thank you.
"Make your way to the
Stockman's Hall of Fame
"to find Beau at the pit stop."
Let's go! Let's go!
Alright, this is it, Amanda.
Let's rotate it a little bit.
Why doesn't it wanna go on?
We were so far behind.
Only three teams were still there.
We're losing time, and
we were totally aware of it,
and it wasn't what we wanted.
We've still got a chance.
Like, just, let's smash this.
Is it there?
No, it's not.
I literally can't get it over that bolt.
Oh, that's the way.
Tyre gods, be with us.
Ooh. Far out.
Check, please!
Oh, my God!
Thank you so much.
Thank you. Alright.
Oh!
"Pick or Polish."
And we picked Pick.
And we picked Puck.
We picked Pick.
Two or three teams left before us.
Yeah.
You know what, though?
What?
We can't look back.
Now what we need to do is,
who are we catching up to?
Exactly.
We're not competing with the mums no more.
No. Yep.
I'm looking forward.
I'm trying to catch up now.
'Cause we had a time penalty,
we knew we had to really catch up.
Yes, yes!
Oh, yes!
That's it. That's it.
Thank you very much.
Jeez, thank you so much.
Thank you so much.
I appreciate it. Far out.
Thank you.
That took too long. Let's go.
Come on, come on.
"Pick or Polish."
Yeah, let's go Polish.
Yeah?
Let's go Polish. Yeah, yeah.
This rotates.
But not this?
It was so frustrating not being
able to speak for this challenge.
OK, so, basically,
we've gotta get this off.
Yep. OK. Let's do it.
Hopefully, hopefully,
still at number one,
and heading to the pit stop.
We thought we were in the lead
but we still had no idea
where the teams were
that did the Polish detour.
Now we have the target on our back.
Final stretch, boy.
Guess so.
We're nailing this. We've got a
really good shot at winning this leg.
Who's that?
There's a team over there.
Oh, yeah?
Don't want the boys to catch us.
Where do you get to win $250,000?
That's exactly right.
So it is a race.
Final stretch.
All the way to the end.
We really like Shane and Deb, but
we're not gonna let them beat us.
Shane, there it is on the right -
the Stockman's Hall of Fame.
Yeah, there it is. There it is.
We're nearly home. Nearly home.
Here we go.
I reckon they'll be out on the where
the Yeah, out the back bit there.
..where the horses race.
Yeah.
They're round the back here.
Yee-hoo!
Sorry.
G'day.
And welcome to Longreach!
Pew!
I love it.
Shane, Deb, you are
..the first team to arrive.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
I'm emotional.
Are you?
Yeah. Just to see the kids,
and to show the kids
that we can do it and finish there.
Don't you get emotional,
'cause then I will.
Thank you.
Pew-pew!
And the news keeps getting better -
you've both won a
Sea World Resort family holiday,
including unlimited entry to
all your favourite theme parks,
thanks to Nickelodeon - how good!
Yes!
The kids are gonna be
My little kids will love that.
That's awesome. Thank you.
Go and get some water into you
Thank you. Yes.
..and have a rest - we'll see you soon.
Well done.
Thank you.
That was probably the proudest
moment that I've done in my life.
Brendon, Jackson, you are
the second team to check in.
Yoo! Yoo! Alright!
Awesome.
Highest we've been so far.
Yeah.
Proud of each other.
Done well.
Yeah. Done well.
Cool, cool, cool!
Yoo!
Yep, this is it.
I can see the Race flags!
Yes. Nice.
Hey!
Ashleigh and Amanda, you are
the third team to check in.
Amazing!
Yep.
We're ready to show the girls
that any girls can do it.
Yeah.
Girl power.
Good job, girls.
Yee-ha!
Thank you.
Be proud. Be proud.
Did you see any solar panels?
No, I didn't. No.
I just wanted to get to the solar panels
and just get it done
as quickly as possible.
Oh, I'm so exhausted
from that last challenge.
I'm so annoyed, because we were
one of the first teams there
and one of the last teams to leave.
We had never been
so low in the pack.
I knew that we were ahead
of Jude and Shannon,
and so I thought, "OK, we're
definitely gaining some ground here.
"Like, let's just get
to the other challenge."
We HAVE to make up time now,
at this next challenge, don't we?
We have to make up time.
So that's We're just gonna
focus on making up time.
OK, it goes that way.
That's the way. Good girl.
Right. Right's tight, left is loose.
Yep. Good job.
Can we check?
Ross, I think that looks
symmetrical and fabulous.
I mean, really. I would
confidently drive that truck.
I absolutely would. I would
not have a problem with it.
I would be thinking
it would be great. Um
I think it's spinning.
Oh, Ross.
Ross. Ross.
You're gonna get a big smooch.
It's comin' for ya.
It's comin' for ya! Ross!
Even though we passed,
leaving last was a real blow.
We just had to hope for a miracle.
We're just hoping no more mistakes
between now and the pit stop.
We can't afford a mistake.
Pick and Polish - that way.
Smash this out.
Scrub hard. Scrub fast.
Let's just get this done quick.
Let's go, Shan.
Oh, shit!
Oh! Someone's forgotten their bags.
Someone's left their bags.
That was a great moment for us.
It was.
Because we knew, at some stage,
someone had to come back and get them.
There's still a glimmer of hope here
that we can get to the pit stop on time.
Oh, no! We left our bags!
My heart just came out of my body.
We left our bags!
We left our bags.
And now we had to do a full U-turn,
go and get our bags back.
We were gonna fall into
the back of the pack.
Jesus Christ!
Finally got into the car park
of the truck museum.
We sprinted to our bags.
Oh, my God.
Go, go, go, go.
We're gonna make it.
We're gonna make it.
So we got back in the car
and we just tried to
catch up to them as quickly as we could.
We're screwed.
Through the shed and around the sheep.
Oh, thank you.
Thanks so much.
Just up there.
Hey, guys. Nice work. Thank you.
Amazing. Nice work.
Thank you.
Hi, guys. Hi.
Hello.
We wanna get it
as clean as possible.
Thank you, thank you.
Alright, the mums are here now,
Dwes. We need to get moving.
The mums are here.
Yeah, we're quite close with
the girls now. We're neck and neck.
Let's go. Ready?
I feel like that's really lovely.
Nice and soft.
Can we please get it checked?
Can we get it checked?
Is it looking better?
Great work there.
Oh, thank you! Oh, my God!
Thank you. Thank you so much.
Thank you. Appreciate it.
"Hurry. The last team to arrive
may be eliminated."
Yeah, let's go.
Let's go.
Hat off to you, sir.
This is hard work.
Thank you very much. Let's go, Dad.
Thank you very much.
Thank you very much.
"Hurry. The last team to arrive
may be eliminated."
Beautiful. Let's go.
Let's go.
Your fleece is acceptable.
Thank you.
Beautiful.
Thank you so much.
One more. One more.
Beautiful.
Thank you.
"Hurry. The last team may be eliminated."
Alright, cool.
I think, Malaan, catch your breath now.
When we land, we're running.
Yeah.
We cannot be eliminated today.
No, we're not gonna be eliminated today.
Like, I'm hoping our
competitive energy now
is going to give us the edge.
Yeah, me too.
Let's go.
Hi, guys.
Hi.
How you doing?
Thank you very much.
Run.
We lost lots of time doing that.
Yeah.
We're under a lot of pressure,
which is not fun.
But we just have to
have a good attitude.
I've gotta give it to Violeta,
she's remained really positive.
It was probably the only thing
that kept us going.
It was really, really helpful.
We've had our fair share
of setbacks today,
so we're just hoping for a miracle here
and we can get back to pit stop
before another team.
Good work, guys.
Yes!
Yes, OK. OK.
Oh, my God.
Let's go.
"Hurry. The last team to arrive
may be eliminated."
Let's go.
Let's go.
I can see other teams leaving,
and the pressure is strong.
This is really, really hard.
And I'm feeling really down.
I thought that was it.
We were last by such a long way.
If you think about where the
other teams are, you'd give up.
We just have to remain
focused on our task.
Yeah, you've got it.
Do we just put it in here?
Yep.
Almost. Come on.
Whoo!
Come on!
"Make your way to Stockman's Hall of
Fame to find Beau at the pit stop.
"Hurry. The last team may
be eliminated." Let's go.
Whoo! We're on our way back
to the pit stop.
So, Malaan and Tina
are gone. They were here.
And so have Dwes and Katherine.
They've left as well.
So we're just putting all
our money on the solar farmers
taking a long time.
Oh, my goodness. I just think
we chose the wrong detour.
But we're here,
we've gotta commit to it.
Hopefully, with a bit of luck,
we can get out just behind the rest.
Catch up on the road or on foot.
We've got groups behind us.
G'day, and welcome to Longreach.
Thank you very much.
Skye-Blue, Jake, you are
the fourth team to check in.
Alright, guys, see you later. Go!
Get some water, Skye!
Go get some water!
Hi.
Holly, Dolor, you are
the fifth team to check in.
Oh, thank you. Oh, my God.
Hit our goal.
How was the Salvage?
It was great.
It was great.
And it was a big advantage?
It was a massive advantage, yeah.
Yeah, it made a big difference.
Come on.
Come on, Dad.
Jobelle, Rani, you are
the sixth team to check in.
Whoo!
Yee-ha!
Let's go, Jess.
G'day, and welcome to Longreach.
Sefa and Jess, you are
the seventh team to check in.
Yeah, baby!
Whoo!
Alright, go have a sleep. See ya.
Thanks, Beau.
Like, we just don't want to
go home today, honestly.
Malaan and I have been through a
lot. We've had a lot of challenges.
I think all those experiences
have really made us
strong and confident young women.
Yesterday, they gave us a time penalty
because of the dinosaur puzzle,
when it broke.
That's what's been stressing me out
the whole day, but
We've done everything right today,
T, so let's just hope for the best.
Alright, T, come on.
Let's do this.
Ooh!
Malaan and Tina
..you are the eighth team to arrive.
However, you will serve
a 10-minute penalty
because you broke the tail of
the dinosaur at the dino dig.
So please step to the side of the mat.
Thanks, Beau.
We're stuck at
the pit stop, waiting.
We knew that some teams
were still coming in.
This is going to be the
longest wait of our lives.
One, two, three.
But one of us could not speak for the
That was actually really hard
'cause we hadn't talked for so long.
We were really at our lowest.
One more. Are we there?
Thank you so much.
"Make your way to the Stockman's Hall
of Fame to find Beau at the pit stop.
"Hurry. The last team to arrive
may be eliminated."
Let's go, Shan.
I feel really, really confident.
What are you thinking, Shan?
Yeah. OK, we'll take it.
Keep the pressure on it,
keep the pressure on it.
You can't just scrub it like that,
you have to keep the pressure on.
It is. The pressure
is on it, Jordan.
Everything that could have
gone wrong went wrong today.
So we were thinking,
Jude and Shannon have caught up,
like, we could be last.
OK, let's get it checked.
Thank you very much. Thank you.
Thank you so much. Let's go. Let's go.
Come on, let's go, let's go,
let's go, let's go, let's go.
I really hope we can get through this.
I'm just praying that
we're not last.
We have no idea where
the other teams are.
We don't know what place we're in.
It's good, baby. We've done alright.
The girls might have a penalty.
Hello.
Hello.
Chris and Aleisha,
you are the ninth team to arrive.
However, you are the
eighth team to check in.
Sorry, girls.
That's OK.
Congrats.
Thank you.
Good stuff, you're still in
the race. Proud of you, guys.
Go and recover.
Go and have a rest. Come on!
G'day, and welcome to Longreach.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Dwes and Katherine, you are
the 10th team to arrive.
Whoo!
But you're the ninth team to check in.
Yes.
We're so grateful,
we're still in the game.
We're so thankful for that opportunity
to redeem ourselves on the next leg.
Yay!
Come on, come on, come on.
Let's go, let's go, let's go, Shan.
We're just gonna leg it
once we get to the pit stop.
We're gonna leg it.
Let's finish this strong, V.
Just bring it home strong,
no matter what.
We've got this, lady.
Almost there.
Is it the pit stop?
My adrenaline is pumping.
There's another car coming.
OK. That's OK. Pull in next
to them, pull in next to them.
Go. Let's go, let's go.
Come on!
Come on.
Jordan and Violeta, you are
the 11th team to arrive,
but you're the 10th team
to check in.
Yes! Yes!
I don't know if I've ever
been so happy in my life.
You're still in the race.
We want to be in this race.
We're going to focus on
climbing up those spots.
We're gonna work really hard.
Go and catch a rest. Go and have
a rest. Go and have a shower.
Malaan and Tina,
please step back on the mat.
Girls, you have served your
10-minute penalty and now
..you are the 11th team to check in.
You're still in the race.
Thanks, guys.
Well done, girls.
Thank you so much.
We'll see you soon.
We're determined to catch up.
Just give it our all.
And, yeah, try and climb
our way up to the top.
Where we belong.
Jude, Shannon, you are
..the last team to check in.
Oh, really?
And your time on the Race is over.
We gave it our all.
We gave it all.
There's nothing else we could have done.
You've gotta be proud of each
other, come on. Yeah, we are.
I'm super proud
that we've got here today
and got through the prelim rounds.
You've got some good news - you get to
go home to your family, give them a hug.
Fantastic.
Keep smiling and walk proud.
Will do.
You did yourselves proud.
Thanks so much. Thanks, Beau.
We have had the absolute
time of our life.
We have spent quality time together.
We have visited amazing
destinations in Australia.
For me, this is an unforgettable
moment that we, knowing Jude and I,
we will talk again and
again and again about.
Whoo!
Whoo!
Coming up on
The Amazing Race Australia
It's like a paradise.
The whole world is within Australia.
..we're off for a week
of island hopping.
This is The Amazing Race!
It's amazing!
But for some teams,
this ain't no holiday.
Bad luck. Alright, let's try again.
I'm sorry.
No, it's OK.
I just felt so frustrated.
It's a week so tough
It's game on.
They're gonna hate us now.
Now they've got a target on their heads.
..one team
I really started to panic.
Dad, Dad
..will be forced to quit.
He was not moving,
he was not in a good way.
- Can he continue in the race?
- No.
See you on the other side, bro.
Let's go.
The Amazing Race Australia
I'm so proud of you!
This is amazing!
..14 teams began the adventure
of a lifetime.
I've never felt so amazing
in my life.
Go! Go! Go!
But for two teams
Dwes, Katherine, your time
on the race is now over.
I'm just so blessed to be a part of it.
..the adventure was short-lived.
Made the decision to step out of
The Amazing Race Australia.
Then, on the Gold Coast
- There's a taxi!
- ..a rivalry erupted
Whoo!
..between two teams.
Hey, this is our one.
We may have made enemies
of Holly and Dolor.
And as the Super Sikhs slid in
for their second win
You are first to arrive.
..a twist was revealed
You'll issue
a Salvage or a Sabotage.
..pitting new rivals against each other.
I'm sorry.
I was annoyed. If I'm honest.
Tonight, the Sikhs soak up
their victory
This is just serene.
..with a day off.
While the others
blaze through the outback.
Whoo!
The Salvage will give one team
Stop! Stop! Stop!
..the ultimate power.
We're gonna teach them a lesson.
And the Mums face a Sabotage.
That one of us could not
speak for the whole leg.
How hard can it be?
OK. I don't know what
you're saying so
But could an epic blunder
Oh, sh
Someone's forgotten their bags.
..spell the end for one team?
Ooh.
Your time on the race is over.
This is Queensland's
world-famous Gold Coast,
home to nearly 60
kilometres of pristine coastline.
It's from here that our
12 remaining teams
are setting off on the third leg
of The Amazing Race Australia.
"Make your way to Winton in the heart
"..of Queensland's outback."
Oh, my God.
Let's go.
Righto. Let's go.
So we're heading into the outback.
We thought, "This is
We're all over this.
"This is great."
Right up our alley.
Departing in the order that they
arrived at the pit stop in the last leg,
teams are heading to Winton.
Out here, the heat is blistering
and it's as dry as a dead dingo.
You can walk for a week
without seeing a soul.
But there's plenty of wildlife
to keep you company.
And it's from here the teams
will get their next clue.
Cab. Cab. Cab.
Hey-hey. Yes, sir!
While the rest of the teams
head to the airport,
it's time for the bottom two teams to
find out what their Salvage advantage
and Sabotage sting will be.
Congratulations.
We Salvage you guys.
Thanks, guys.
Holly and Dolor were given a Salvage,
which is a huge leg-up in this race.
"Salvage team, you may jump
the queue at any challenge."
Perfect. Let's go.
We can jump the queue every single time.
In The Amazing Race Australia,
there are lots of challenges
where you get stuck behind other
contestants, waiting in queues.
With the Salvage,
we can jump straight to the front.
Me first.
Girls, you came last. I'm sorry.
While Jude and Shannon were
dealt a crushing Sabotage.
Sabotage. "One of you may not
speak for the entire leg."
Oh!
Oh, my God.
We've got the Sabotage
which means one of us
can't speak for the whole day.
It's gonna be really hard
to understand each other.
It has to be me because
you cannot NOT speak.
Let's go. Let's go. Let's go.
Let's go!
Whoo!
Where are these taxis?
Up here.
Let's go.
Hey, we've got this.
To get to Winton, teams have
first flown to Longreach
where, after they've received
a traditional welcome to country
..I've called them together
for a massive announcement.
Welcome to Longreach.
Now, as you all know, we lost Alex
and Jack in the last leg of the race
due to unforeseen circumstances.
So what I've decided to do
is to give a team
a second chance.
What?
Give a big Longreach welcome
..to Dwes and Katherine.
Being asked to join the race again
is just so amazing.
What a surprise.
We're just so thankful for
that opportunity to come back in
because, like, oh, my God,
it was time to redeem ourself
but time to show, like, we can be
as competitive as other teams.
We've been given this
opportunity of a second chance,
and nothing's gonna stop us.
How do you guys feel right now?
Excited and privileged to be here
with all of you guys.
Happy to see them.
We are so happy to see them.
They're such a great team.
Turns out the
Deadly Duo team was back.
- So excited to see them.
- Yeah.
It was just too early on in the game
for them to leave.
Now we will continue racing.
Race safe, race hard.
Go!
Up here. Let's get up here.
Get going.
Alright. Let's go.
It's manual but I don't care.
Going forward - cool,
calm and collected.
Stay positive.
Yep.
Oh, positive always. Yep.
I can't believe we are here
and we're starting in first place.
We could actually win this leg.
Our kids are gonna be stoked.
As a mum and dad, nice to show
the kids that you can fight
and keep that positive spirit.
We're a very competitive family
and it's good.
The kids are competitive and that's
how I want them to live life,
with drive and determination.
So, yeah, doing this for them
would be awesome.
I just wanna make them proud.
Come on!
Let's go. Let's go.
We're gonna have to hustle.
Go, go, go.
Jump in.
Let's go.
Go, go, go.
Let's go.
Boot should be opening.
Whoo! We're on our way, Kath!
Finally.
#AustralianOutback.
Being in the great outback is cool
but also scary.
I've never been this far inland
in Australia, ever.
Do you reckon there'd
be snakes out here?
There's a lot of flies outside.
Bugs. I'll get bitten.
Fly in the back.
Got rid of it now.
The teams are well
on their way to Winton
where they'll go head-to-head
in the most Aussie race ever -
the world-famous Dunny Derby.
This challenge requires teams
to pick a local of their choice -
I chose Robyn,
that's my mum's name -
and pull a mobile dunny
around a racetrack.
But there's a messy twist.
One team member must balance a bedpan
on their head, full of dunny water,
and pour it in the bucket
up to the red line.
This could take a few circuits.
That stinks.
I don't know what the liquid's
gonna be. I just hope it's not poo.
You think we're gonna be running around
with helmets of poo or pee on our head?
Well, it's a dunny.
It says you can't use your hands.
What's that?
One has to wear the helmet and
the other's gonna draw the water.
Does this technically count
as a hand
'cause I technically only have one.
Winton.
Come at us, baby.
Go, go, go.
Right, let's go.
Run, run, run. Come on.
Come on, come on. Come on.
OK, let's go.
Who's the best dunny driver?
We needed a volunteer so we picked
the lightest guy that we could.
Come on, buddy. Let's go.
So, we basically have to race an
Aussie dunny around, like, a track.
Alright. Yep.
OK, you ready?
We have to get,
like, a bedpan on the head.
Your head's not straight.
Is that better?
That is straight. OK.
Then fill it up with toilet water.
Blue toilet water!
Shit.
And then you've gotta, like, walk.
Balance it.
Balancing so
that you don't spill it.
It's all good.
Keep it going, you're doing so well.
Awesome work. Keep it up.
Keep going. Keep going.
Keep going. Keep going.
And then we need to keep filling it
up until we get to the red line.
This is gonna take us a few trips.
Got it. Got it. Yep.
There they are, there.
Let's go.
Let's do this.
You ready?
You're lucky you're with the
3-time world-champion dunny-puller here.
Are we?
Legend!
Being in the country definitely
has an advantage. Yeah, 100%.
It was a lot more
in our comfort zone.
When do you want me
to start cracking the whip?
Not just yet.
Crack it on the left-hand side,
he'll get real excited.
OK, let's go.
Come on.
Oh, wait, they have started.
We'd already had a massive disadvantage
going into this challenge,
being sabotaged today.
Because Shannon couldn't speak.
Down here. It's that one. Come on,
we'd better get in the game.
We knew we had to try and
give this challenge everything
to stay in the race.
And we were last there.
Excuse me, do we have
a dunny sitter here?
We call out for our dunny sitter.
And there comes Riley.
Riley, may I suggest you
take a seat.
And also because we were late,
we didn't have a choice.
Not quite exactly
who we had in mind.
Beast of a man.
Yes. Yes! He was great.
He was
Full-figured.
Full-figured!
Also, sorry, Riley, Shannon's
not allowed to speak today.
That's her punishment.
Righto, Riley, I'd say to buckle in
'cause we're gonna be here a while.
Let's go.
Oh.
Slow down. Don't panic.
Any time I looked
away, that's when it spilt
so we were just
full-on concentration.
We had to do four laps.
OK. Careful. Careful.
Yep. Go, go, go, go.
Come back towards me. Go, go, go!
Thank you!
Go.
"Drive to the Australian
Age of Dinosaurs Museum
"and assemble a dinosaur skeleton
for your next clue."
Winton is the home
to Australia's most significant
archaeological site.
And it's here the palaeontologists
found three unique dinosaurs,
fondly named Clancy, Matilda and Banjo.
In this challenge, each team needs
to dig up 33 wooden dinosaur bones
and accurately piece them together
into a full dinosaur skeleton.
But if they break any bones,
they'll cop a hefty time penalty
at the pit stop.
Once they've assembled
the dinosaur together,
to the satisfaction
of the palaeontologist
..they'll receive their next clue.
All the way. All the way.
All the way!
Yeow!
Thank you very much.
You have a good day.
Go.
Thank you very much.
It was a pleasure.
Thanks, guys.
Thanks, guys.
"Drive to the Australian
Age of Dinosaurs Museum."
Let's go.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Let's go. Let's go.
Someone
OK, come on, we can do this.
We're confident.
I think it's probably key
with this just to go slow
and not get flustered.
Like, it sounds like maybe the bones
are easy to break or something.
Yep.
- OK, go.
- I need you to guide me.
We started down the bottom
of the pack
but having the Salvage on our side
really got us feeling confident
about the whole leg.
I was smashing it.
Tell me when to pour it. Now? Now?
Not yet. You need to be closer.
You need to be closer.
Now?
OK, bit closer. Bit closer.
Now. Now.
Stop, stop, stop!
Stop, stop, stop!
Missed it. I told you
Let me do it.
Wow. That's what a dunny is.
A toilet.
I know it's another word for the loo.
But then again, I also thought it
was a small donkey or a small horse.
But it's a human in a dunny,
we're pulling.
You know, our life has been a
One big race.
One big race.
Steady. Slow and steady
wins the race.
I was born in Sudan, in Khartoum.
My family fled.
Kenya was taking in refugees
from the civil war in Sudan.
And that's where I met Malaan.
And we are best friends.
I'm an international model.
And I'm a public servant.
Oh, good job!
It's good that we're
entering this as friends,
because if it's a couple,
they usually bicker.
- I'll tell you when
- OK, we're fine.
Stop being stressed.
It's so annoying, honestly.
It was really, really frustrating
because a lot of the other teams
were just powering through.
We have to catch up.
- Have you got it?
- Yep.
Go forward, go forward.
Yeah?
A little bit. Keep going.
I think we did
it, babe. I think we did it!
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much.
Let's frickin' go! Let's go!
"Drive to the Australian
Age of Dinosaurs Museum."
Alrighty. Let's go.
I reckon this one's going to be hard.
Yeah.
The digging's going to be the easy bit.
Setting it up's gonna be the hard part.
Yeah, putting it together
is gonna be the hardest.
I don't mind a puzzle.
Let's go.
Good job, boys.
Good job, boys.
We're first here, yeah?
Yeah.
Going alright, eh?
Yeah. Let's go.
Alright, let's go, let's go.
What do you want, babe? Which one?
Whatever you want.
Looking for some bones here.
Yeah, so we pulled up
there and saw the digging stations.
There was digging stations
for everybody.
We had to get in there and find all
these bones that were in the
It was like a puzzle, pretty much.
You had to find all the bones
and build a dinosaur.
I know absolutely nothing
about dinosaurs.
But I am about to build one.
You thought you were a bloody
archaeologist or anthropologist.
What's an anthropologist?
They study ants.
No!
I wouldn't even know
how to say that.
What is it?
Anthropologist?
Anti-pologist.
Anthropologist.
Just think about concentrate on
your feeling where that water is.
We've been given this
opportunity of a second chance.
So we want to show them
what we're made of.
Follow me.
Keep your keep your head
back a little bit.
Yes!
Go forward. Go, go, go.
Whoo! Whoo! Yes! Yes!
Thank you very much.
Tip forward. Full tip.
Full?
Yep.
Keep going, keep going,
keep going, keep going.
Good job!
Thank you so much.
"Excavate 33 fossil bones
and assemble a dinosaur skeleton
"for your next clue."
Whoo! We got this!
Yes!
We can get it!
That's the most Aussie thing
I've ever done.
I think that's my Australian
citizenship sealed now, for sure.
Let's get 'em.
At the dunny derby,
we've dropped a few places,
so we're now starting this challenge
in the middle of the pack.
We need to fight to find these bones
so we can get back on top.
Deb, I've got one.
Good boy.
Ooh, here's a big one.
Can I get your help with this?
How cool is that?
Here. Got it.
Have you got it?
Yeah.
We are the first team
to find all 33 pieces.
Now we've got to put them together.
We wanted to smash this out
and stay in the lead.
Funny-looking leg.
This one goes in here.
Did you have a hot date tonight?
Because you might
want to let her know
that you're going to be
a little bit late.
A little bit late?
Yeah.
This is our last round.
Keep doing what you're doing,
babe, you're doing great.
Thank you.
Am I right, Shannon?
Talk to me. Tell me what I'm doing!
More? More? Stop pumping my arm
like you're doing my blood pressure.
That was a moment where
I would have loved for Shan
to be able to be talking.
Shannon would have had 50 million
brilliant one-liners to drop in.
Let's finish this off.
It's just us and the mums,
but they're a long way behind.
Alright, we'll try and go a bit quicker.
So we had a run-in with
Holly and Dolor last leg,
and there is no way I'm going to
let them beat us in this challenge.
We weren't giving up, but
this is gonna be tough. Yeah.
Just us and the mums again,
which I don't mind because
we know we can beat them.
Go backwards, go backwards.
Forward, and go backwards.
OK, ready?
Keep going, keep going, keep going,
keep going. Backwards. Backwards.
Keep going forward. Yeah, backwards.
Yeah, we've done it. We've done it.
Thank you.
Well done, babe. We killed it.
There's only one team
behind us, the mums,
but we're only about 10 minutes
behind about five other teams,
and I feel confident we're going
to catch up to the other teams.
Just relax, babe.
We got this.
We've got the Salvage, so
..we've got a lot of power in this leg.
Come on! Move them legs!
Come on, let's go!
Listen here, Robin.
I want you to take
those glasses off.
Congratulations.
There's your next clue.
Thank you, Robin.
"Drive to the Australian
Age of Dinosaurs Museum."
OK, let's go!
See yas.
You know what? If you've gotta
go out, you gotta go out on a high.
That challenge was SO hard.
We have to leg it now
to even have a chance
to catch up to the others.
We could see the Cowboys
already building their dinosaurs.
We needed to catch up to them.
One more, one more. One more.
Here, I got it.
You're doing good.
As far as we can see,
all the other teams were back
trying to dig and find their bones.
We work well together.
And we noticed we're running second.
Let's go!
Do want to try this one on yours?
Try that and if see that Hang on.
The hardest part was the build.
Yeah, probably right.
You keep going over it for a sec,
I'll keep going with these ribs.
I felt like it was like Nan's
999 puzzle with 998 pieces in it.
Like, it was always that one
that just wasn't going to work.
Does that tail go in somehow?
It was really annoying.
We knew we had the lead
on the other teams,
but we could not
work out this puzzle.
See if you can work out these,
'cause these two are the same.
I'll get the ribs sorted, eh?
Big piece, small piece,
big piece, small piece.
No. Not big enough.
All the flags are flying.
- You can see flags?
- Yeah, yeah.
Let's try not to use the hard core stuff
so we don't break anything.
I would say you keep
going straight, Shan.
Go right. No, no, right, right.
What are you pointing to?
Road train?
I don't understand
what you're pointing to.
OK.
They've only got potentially
an hour head start.
An hour maybe.
There's a chance.
There's always a chance.
The hardest thing for me,
Shannon being quiet,
was that we just couldn't
vibe off each other.
That's our thing.
Change that frown to a smile, nod.
Not talking was more challenging
than I ever, ever dreamed.
I was in a position where
there was nothing I could do.
See it's got a hole just here?
We're gonna stand this up.
It's either in one or it's
in the other. It's not in both.
At the start of the build,
we were quite confident
but, gosh, it was difficult.
Yeah.
Then I don't know what the frig these are.
Hang on. These go here.
You sure? You sure?
This is why I always want
you to do puzzles with me.
You never know when you're gonna
need to build a dinosaur.
Definitely just be careful
that you don't break anything.
Oh, I'm being uber careful.
So, let's get them down.
When we did get down to where
everyone was building
their dinosaurs,
we were one of the last teams.
But we're smart players,
so we can make that up easily.
Who's almost done?
Um
The Cowboys are really close.
Yeah, yeah.
Let's try and copy while we have a chance.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
This goes right here.
This goes right here. Yep, yep.
This fits. Look. Look, it fits.
On the corner, on the outside?
Yep, yep, yep, yep. OK.
Holly and Dolor were copying us.
It was bloody annoying.
Yeah, so, me and Holly, we're just
looking at what the Cowboys are doing
and to other groups around us,
to see how they're
constructing the dinosaur.
And then once they complete it,
we'll replicate it,
put it all together
and we're out of here.
So we'll be coming
second or third after that.
Can you take a look to see?
Yeah, I'm looking over there.
But look specifically, look for this.
Yeah, OK.
They haven't got their legs yet
but the other guys have.
That's why I'm looking at
what they've got.
Ah, OK.
We're just guessing.
We literally haven't got there yet.
Oh, yep. OK.
I get it.
Come back, come back.
OK, let's go.
Damn it, he came over
right when I figured that out.
They're definitely
in it to win it for themselves.
I don't know if I 100%
trust them at this point.
I'm very wary of them.
Oh, I love cheating on
exams, so Yeah.
If you're gonna find the answers,
you may as well just replicate it.
There's no rules against it, so why not?
What's going there?
It's alright, yeah, we're good.
We've got this.
That looks good.
Move them there and then
..those three at the back here.
The Cowboys were next to us
and they were doing really well too.
It looked like we
were both so close.
We just wanted to finish it first
so we could be back up in front.
Yep.
Can we get checked?
I'm sorry, you two. That's a fail.
Don't stress.
You don't need to get stressed.
That's got to go there
and that's got to go there.
How does that look?
It was neck and neck with Shane and Deb,
but we're not gonna
give up our lead.
Let's get her to come over
and have a look.
Sorry, fellas, but that's incorrect.
It's something here,
I'm telling you.
Put that one at the back.
Here?
Yeah.
We have to work out what it was
and we're looking at it.
That one's got to go there.
And then we realised the ribs
Had to be the ribs. Yes.
Yep.
Check, please!
Congratulations.
Thank you!
Thank you!
"Make your way to
Winton's Truck Museum."
Teams must now
go to Winton truck stop
where they'll find the sign-up board
for tomorrow's challenge.
Here they'll put their names down
in the order they arrive.
The earlier they get there,
the earlier they get
to start in the morning.
Finishing first was such a good feeling.
We could actually win this leg.
That looks heaps better.
Can we get someone to have
a look at this one, please?
Thank you.
Legend. Thank you.
Well done. Unreal.
Cheers, mate.
Done.
This is correct. I think so.
We may as well check. How's that?
Congratulations.
Thank you, yes!
Well done. Thank you!
Thank you so much. Thank you.
Let's just move quick.
We've got to do this. Let's go.
Watch out.
This is the third-last piece
if we get it right.
And now put the hands on.
Put the hands on.
Quickly, quickly.
Just can we just not rush, OK?
OK, cool.
Check, please!
Check, please!
Yes! Thank you so much!
Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you so much.
Let's go.
"Make your way to
Winton's Truck Museum."
OK.
Is it here?
Yeah, sign up here.
Oh, shall we jump in
and have a look?
Yes!
I'm team number one.
Thank you.
Team number one.
Good job, guys!
Good work, guys!
I'm so glad it's you guys! Yes!
Good get.
Well done.
Let's just do this.
My Lordy.
Shannon, come this way.
I think we're probably the last.
It was all about,
"Let's just get it done."
But at that point, it was dark.
Will we go where
the other people are?
I think they're putting
their dinosaur together, though.
We'll go ask someone.
Upside down. That way. Across.
Oh, my God.
It's OK. I think it's right.
Oh, my God.
What?
There's a small crack in it.
It's not broken.
We were really worried
because we knew
if we broke any pieces
we were gonna get a time penalty.
We're trying to put the tail on,
it's not moving.
We have a small crack.
Let's just keep building it.
Just can't move this to the side.
OK.
Whatever you do.
We have this crack in ours
and we don't want any penalty
but it's not broken
and the rules said if it's broken
but ours isn't broken.
Level two OK.
Where is it sitting?
So this one
No, the next one, babe.
The next one? You sure?
Yep.
This one goes here.
- Do you want a hand?
- Help me, help me.
- Ow, wait, wait.
- We're gonna break this.
We're gonna break this.
Here we are, yet again,
trying to catch up.
And the end of our
dinosaur tail snapped.
We've just played this game of catch-up
and then, now,
we have that time penalty.
We realised really quickly
that we could get eliminated.
Yeah, that's in. OK.
We're just going to plug that in.
We're competitive,
quite competitive.
And I thought, "We have
definitely got a chance here."
We are still in this.
Gentle, gentle.
It's alright. She's here, checking.
Congratulations, ladies.
Thank you so much!
Check, please!
- You passed.
- Yes! Oh, my God!
"Make your way to
Winton's Truck Museum."
Alright, let's go.
OK.
Come on.
We're on the home stretch now.
We're really, really close. Yeah.
Just trying to beat the other teams
and not be last.
Check, please. Check, please.
Check, please. Check, please. Hey!
It's a pass.
Thank you. Oh, my God.
Congratulations.
Thank you. Thank you.
Come on, Dad.
Oh, my gosh.
Oh, my gosh.
One more team left.
One more team left?
Yeah.
This is gonna need a miracle.
We've been working really hard
to make our way to the top
and we're back on the bottom again,
which is not a good feeling.
I saw so many lights of people,
and now they're not there.
Yeah, because
they all got lost, too.
I feel like it's around here.
What does that sign say there?
Winton Trucking Museum. OK.
Yeah, quick. Quick, quick.
Danke schoen.
Great work, guys.
Check, please.
Ladies, it's a pass
Oh!
..minus the tail.
We know we're getting a time penalty
at pit stop for breaking that bone,
so we had to get a move on.
The girls are done.
That's alright.
Let's just keep going.
What have we got to do
with the arms now?
Come on. Come on, come on.
And that. That yours?
Come on. Come on.
The fact Shannon can't speak
to me because of this Sabotage,
just makes it so frustrating.
What are we doing? There?
We are so tired.
Absolutely exhausted.
We got this, Shan.
Still in it. Still in it.
Check.
Congratulations.
Thank you. Thank you.
We're still in this,
I think. Come on.
So we're 7:25.
Good stuff, Dwes.
On the board.
Oh, there's a leaderboard.
Let's put our name at the top!
The Salvage allowed us to jump the
queue on any line in any challenge.
Lucky you, guys.
Oh, yeah, you can move everybody down.
So, we waited all day to use
the Salvage, and now's the time.
Well done.
Write here. Into here. Into one.
Out of the way. Out of the way.
Out of the way. Out of the way.
Holly and Dolor at the top.
Well done. Well done.
Damn.
That's rough.
Alright. That's OK.
Malaan, that means we have another day.
We do have another day.
We're going to sleep it off.
50 minutes - we can catch up.
Follow this road down
here, cross the railway line.
The Sabotage actually did make
a massive difference for us.
I figure we've come this far.
We're still in the game.
Let's have a look at this.
Tomorrow is a new day.
We just have to approach it with,
it is what it is and
we can only do our best.
Oh. But you're ready to go to sleep?
Is that what you're saying to me?
Or do I need to stop talking and listen?
Alright, let's go.
Last night, teams put
their names on the sign-up board
in the order they arrived.
Oh, let's go.
This morning, they're
kick-starting the day
with a bit of hard yakka.
This challenge is gonna
be truckin' awesome.
Meet my metal mate, Clancy.
He's 53 metres long, has 62 wheels,
and he's what's known as
the king of the outback roads.
In this challenge,
our teams will have to come down
to the Winton truck stop
and fit two of these huge
trucking monster wheels.
They weigh 80 kilos each,
and need to be carefully aligned.
So teams will need to use
their muscles and precise technique
to get it just right.
Once they put them on the truck
to the satisfaction of Ross,
they'll get their next clue.
There it is.
Here we are,
thinking we're first in line.
And Holly and Dolor got
moved from near down the bottom
all the way to first place
because of their Salvage.
So, we moved into second place,
and that was frustrating me.
Look at that.
Number one.
Look at youse.
Lucky youse got the Salvage, eh?
Good luck with it. Let's go and
wait over here till five past.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Hi.
Morning.
You're giving a demonstration?
OK, can we watch you? OK, thank you.
We should be able to
get this done very quickly.
Hopefully first go.
Oh, we'll do it first go for sure. 100%
We watched the demonstration.
It's pretty easy.
We can smash it out.
Yeah.
OK, you got it?
Oh, God, it's heavy.
Wow.
Oh, God, it's heavy.
Want me to help you?
How are you going to help me?
I'm just asking.
OK, I'll let you go.
Can you do it? Can you actually help me?
Yeah, let's try to do it.
Lift it up.
See how he's lifting it up.
With changing the truck tyres,
there's two tyres to it.
And you've really got to get
the first tyre up and in and on.
Then you've gotta get the
second tyre and you've gotta
Align the valves together.
You saw how the wheel bounced
when he put that there. Yep.
We were feeling pretty confident
about the truck tyres.
I've got a truck of me
own, so we thought we
would have had a pretty
good chance in there.
We both work driving trucks and
delivery vehicles all the time.
This is right up our alley.
We've got a chance to climb back up.
How much of an advantage
do the Cowboys have at this?
We don't need to watch,
do we, if we don't have to?
Righto.
So, they're not even
going to watch the demo.
We chose not to do the demonstration
because we thought we had a pretty
good idea what we were doing.
Grab that.
Make a good team, you know?
Make a solid team, bro.
That's for sure.
If there's something
that we're confident at,
we'll just steam ahead and
get into it, get it done.
One more.
Not far off, are we?
Give this to go.
Can we please get a judge?
Would you check this for us?
No good?
What is going on here?
Our dads would not have been impressed.
We knew we had a good opportunity to
come in first today, but we blew it.
Alright, Shanny. 7:55.
It's only 55 minutes behind.
We're gonna turn the
unhappy face into a
..super happy face today.
How are you feeling, Shan?
We have been in so many
high-pressure situations together
as friends.
It's my chance to step up
to prove to myself
that things I think I can do that I can.
Haven't changed a truck tyre,
but, you know, that's OK.
I mean, how hard can it be?
Shit.
No, no. Ooh!
People seem to be having a hard time.
Yeah.
Do the girls proud.
We will.
I feel like we've got a lot of
similarities, actually. We do, don't we?
Can I give you some modelling tips,
'cause I've had a few laps
of the runway myself.
Oh, OK. Show me.
Good job.
Same same.
Same same.
What's the difference?
The same.
That's all fine. Yeah,
can we have a judge, please?
Oh, thank you so much!
Thank you so much!
Thank you.
Oh, a detour.
A detour is a choice
between two challenges,
each with its own pros and cons.
In this detour, teams will travel
to the far side of Longreach
and choose either Pick or Polish.
They say Australia was
built on the sheep's back,
and teams who choose Pick will
find out why here at Camden Station.
Each team must collect freshly
shorn fleece from the shearer
and clean enough wool,
removing all dirt and burrs,
to fill an entire bale.
They must then roll the
full bale to the farmer,
who will give them their next clue.
Meanwhile, teams who choose Polish
will head to the massive
Longreach Solar Farm.
It's so big, it can power
150,000 Aussie homes
and it's even visible from space.
Here, they need to clean 42 -
that's right, 42 - solar panels
out in the blistering Aussie heat.
Pick. We're gonna Pick.
Pick. Let's go.
Let's go. 'Cause we're ahead.
I'll get you to have a look here
if that's alright, boss?
Yeah, RMS approved?
Oh, champion.
Legend. Thank you very much.
Can we get a check?
Thank you!
Oh, my God.
Thank you. Oh, my God.
OK. Pick or Polish?
Pick.
Done.
Polish, I reckon.
Yeah, Polish too.
Alright, Polish it is. Let's go.
Let's go.
Got your seatbelt on?
Yes, Mum.
Can't believe I did not put
them friggin' valves the same.
The same. Facing each other.
Dad's gonna kick my arse.
They'll both be like, you
You idiot.
Anyway, we got it done.
We've left here in second, so
We're third now but, you know, we
can potentially end up being second,
maybe first again.
The Salvage paid off big time.
Hello!
The detour was a Pick or Polish,
and we chose to pick.
Ready?
Let's go, Deb.
So, guys, we've just got to take the
blackened edges away from the sides.
OK.
Where the sheep had been
in the grass or anything,
they get burrs all over them
and the black where they've
rubbed up against stuff.
We had to clean all the edges up.
Yeah, so we picked that wool challenge.
It's a bit closer to home for us.
Yeah.
Yeah, good one, mate.
Best job I've done.
I cart sheep in the truck and
I work around sheep farming,
so we thought we'd be a bit more
confident with that one and have a go.
Feeling heaps more at home out here.
This is good.
Brendon and Jackson are great boys,
but ultimately,
we still want to beat them.
Let's go, Deb.
There so could be snakes here.
We were the first team in the
Polish challenge when we arrived.
We had to clean solar panels.
42 of them.
And make sure they were spotless.
OK, here we go.
OK. Grab a broom each.
OK. Need a brush?
Yep.
Hang on.
You sure you got this one?
Yep.
OK.
OK, so
You're gonna go high and I'm gonna go low?
Yep.
Dolor actually likes cleaning.
I don't mind cleaning.
Oh, easy.
You're so good at this.
Just water on a brush. Easy.
This challenge was easy.
We'll be done within the next,
I reckon, 20 minutes?
Yeah.
I think we're good, Jake.
Can we please get a check?
Yes. Yes.
Come on. Two girls,
we've done a good job.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much!
Detour.
Pick or Polish.
Polish?
Yeah.
The Pick, for sure.
Wanna do the shearing? Let's do the
shearing one. Yeah, let's do shearing.
Let's go. Let's do Polish.
We killed that! Yeah!
People are just finishing the task
and we just can't get this damn tyre up.
Just felt like a real kick in
the teeth to fall all the way
back down to the bottom of the pack.
Being a competitive ballroom dance
couple, we want to push each other,
be there for each other.
Ready?
Ready.
We love to compete and
to challenge ourselves.
Because we have
a great relationship
even when we're feeling down,
and we can get through this.
Let's turn this like this
just a little bit.
Like, it needs to be up.
OK.
We started to see the other teams
were finishing up.
We definitely do not
want to get eliminated.
Then we were like, "We need to
pick up the pace with this."
Yep. Good job.
A lot of burrs on this one here.
What's this one been
rolling in, a burr patch?
It's was takin' forever but
you just tuck your chin and work.
Few more burrs up here.
Hey, boys.
Girls are here.
What we need to see is the burr
and the black edges
away from the fleece.
And what tools do we have?
Just your hands.
Oh, OK.
These burry bits, get rid of all that.
It's just time-consuming, so I just
had to work as quickly as I could.
It's like this stuff
Yep, just get all that, yep.
Bit closer to home this challenge.
Yeah, I reckon.
Especially when you're off the land.
I haven't done this,
but I've carted them.
Love it.
No, it's a bit easier than
what I would have been
polishing them bloody
Solar panels.
..solar panels.
Oh, yeah. This is way better
than the wool challenge.
The wool challenge.
Like, this is really easy.
And no other team is here,
which is a really good sign.
Hopefully there's still a couple
of solar panels to be done.
OK.
Let's go.
Oh, wow. I was imagining
just the one panel.
Uh-oh.
That's a lot of solar panels.
I thought it would be easy.
Ready?
But you know it's this one?
You don't know for sure?
We're in the bottom three again.
If we could jump even just one
place, that would be so good.
No, but it's up on that.
Has it gotta go up more?
The fact Shannon can't speak
to me because of this Sabotage
just makes it all so hard.
OK, I don't know what
you're saying, sorry.
Did I miss that?
I think I'm working against you.
What do you want me to do?
There was a lot more solar panels
than we imagined we would be cleaning.
42, to be exact.
This is the first time
that Mum would see Dad and I
pick up a broom or a bucket.
What?! No, I always do this.
Why are you doing it again?
Huh?
What?
Don't do it again. It's clean.
Now I've gotta go do the bottoms again.
OK, do it again, then.
I just cleaned the bottoms.
Why are you getting
so frustrated out of nowhere?
'Cause I wanna move on to
the next one. It's good.
Alright. Almost done.
OK, cool.
Alright.
OK, let's get it checked.
Excuse me! Excuse me! Can
we get a judge to check, please?
Not quite good enough, guys.
Ah! Told you.
OK.
See how there's still dirt
on yours here?
Where? No, that's not dirt.
OK, well, then, we'll just
stay here forever, then. Far out!
Make sure we get all them edges
and all them burrs.
Feels like we've been here
for bloody ages.
Do you reckon it's,
like, this stuff?
Yep. Just get all that. Yep.
It just seemed to take forever.
I immediately thought we'd
chosen the wrong detour,
and that can cost you a lot of
time in The Amazing Race.
There you are. See? Over there.
No, that's all beaut. That's good.
Congratulations -
that's an acceptable fleece.
Thank you so much.
Now we're gonna get a bale.
We then had to go outside and
we had to roll a bale of wool
To a truck.
That was, like over yonder.
Who would've thought wool
would've been so heavy?
My lungs are burning.
Oh.
Whew!
Well done.
Oh! Thank you, mate.
Oh! Thank you so much. Thank you.
Thank you. Thanks, mate.
Go.
OK.
Pit stop, please.
"Make your way to the
Stockman Hall of Fame
"..to find Beau at the pit stop!
"Hurry! Last team to arrive
might be eliminated!"
Back in 1988, Her Majesty
Queen Elizabeth II
visited Longreach to open
the Stockman's Hall of Fame.
And it's here the teams will find
me, and one team will be eliminated,
at the pit stop of the third leg
of The Amazing Race Australia.
Hey-ya!
So, we left the sheep first, but
the Cowboys went right behind us.
You right?
Yep.
Let's go.
Nearly there.
Well done, guys.
Champion. Thanks, mate.
Cheers, mate.
Appreciate it.
Appreciate it.
Thank you.
"Hurry! The last team to arrive"
I know where that is.
"..may be eliminated."
Let's go.
Right, get the Kath & Kim walk going, mate!
Right?
Yeah, bro.
Pit stop next. Just keep going.
This is an acceptable fleece.
Whoo!
Yay!
Alright - scooch, scooch, scooch,
scooch, scooch, scooch, scooch.
Don't stop - we've got this.
We can do it. Push through
the pain. We're not weak.
Hey!
Well done.
Thank you so much.
Thank you. Thank you.
"Make your way to the
Stockman's Hall of Fame
"to find Beau at the pit stop."
Let's go! Let's go!
Alright, this is it, Amanda.
Let's rotate it a little bit.
Why doesn't it wanna go on?
We were so far behind.
Only three teams were still there.
We're losing time, and
we were totally aware of it,
and it wasn't what we wanted.
We've still got a chance.
Like, just, let's smash this.
Is it there?
No, it's not.
I literally can't get it over that bolt.
Oh, that's the way.
Tyre gods, be with us.
Ooh. Far out.
Check, please!
Oh, my God!
Thank you so much.
Thank you. Alright.
Oh!
"Pick or Polish."
And we picked Pick.
And we picked Puck.
We picked Pick.
Two or three teams left before us.
Yeah.
You know what, though?
What?
We can't look back.
Now what we need to do is,
who are we catching up to?
Exactly.
We're not competing with the mums no more.
No. Yep.
I'm looking forward.
I'm trying to catch up now.
'Cause we had a time penalty,
we knew we had to really catch up.
Yes, yes!
Oh, yes!
That's it. That's it.
Thank you very much.
Jeez, thank you so much.
Thank you so much.
I appreciate it. Far out.
Thank you.
That took too long. Let's go.
Come on, come on.
"Pick or Polish."
Yeah, let's go Polish.
Yeah?
Let's go Polish. Yeah, yeah.
This rotates.
But not this?
It was so frustrating not being
able to speak for this challenge.
OK, so, basically,
we've gotta get this off.
Yep. OK. Let's do it.
Hopefully, hopefully,
still at number one,
and heading to the pit stop.
We thought we were in the lead
but we still had no idea
where the teams were
that did the Polish detour.
Now we have the target on our back.
Final stretch, boy.
Guess so.
We're nailing this. We've got a
really good shot at winning this leg.
Who's that?
There's a team over there.
Oh, yeah?
Don't want the boys to catch us.
Where do you get to win $250,000?
That's exactly right.
So it is a race.
Final stretch.
All the way to the end.
We really like Shane and Deb, but
we're not gonna let them beat us.
Shane, there it is on the right -
the Stockman's Hall of Fame.
Yeah, there it is. There it is.
We're nearly home. Nearly home.
Here we go.
I reckon they'll be out on the where
the Yeah, out the back bit there.
..where the horses race.
Yeah.
They're round the back here.
Yee-hoo!
Sorry.
G'day.
And welcome to Longreach!
Pew!
I love it.
Shane, Deb, you are
..the first team to arrive.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
I'm emotional.
Are you?
Yeah. Just to see the kids,
and to show the kids
that we can do it and finish there.
Don't you get emotional,
'cause then I will.
Thank you.
Pew-pew!
And the news keeps getting better -
you've both won a
Sea World Resort family holiday,
including unlimited entry to
all your favourite theme parks,
thanks to Nickelodeon - how good!
Yes!
The kids are gonna be
My little kids will love that.
That's awesome. Thank you.
Go and get some water into you
Thank you. Yes.
..and have a rest - we'll see you soon.
Well done.
Thank you.
That was probably the proudest
moment that I've done in my life.
Brendon, Jackson, you are
the second team to check in.
Yoo! Yoo! Alright!
Awesome.
Highest we've been so far.
Yeah.
Proud of each other.
Done well.
Yeah. Done well.
Cool, cool, cool!
Yoo!
Yep, this is it.
I can see the Race flags!
Yes. Nice.
Hey!
Ashleigh and Amanda, you are
the third team to check in.
Amazing!
Yep.
We're ready to show the girls
that any girls can do it.
Yeah.
Girl power.
Good job, girls.
Yee-ha!
Thank you.
Be proud. Be proud.
Did you see any solar panels?
No, I didn't. No.
I just wanted to get to the solar panels
and just get it done
as quickly as possible.
Oh, I'm so exhausted
from that last challenge.
I'm so annoyed, because we were
one of the first teams there
and one of the last teams to leave.
We had never been
so low in the pack.
I knew that we were ahead
of Jude and Shannon,
and so I thought, "OK, we're
definitely gaining some ground here.
"Like, let's just get
to the other challenge."
We HAVE to make up time now,
at this next challenge, don't we?
We have to make up time.
So that's We're just gonna
focus on making up time.
OK, it goes that way.
That's the way. Good girl.
Right. Right's tight, left is loose.
Yep. Good job.
Can we check?
Ross, I think that looks
symmetrical and fabulous.
I mean, really. I would
confidently drive that truck.
I absolutely would. I would
not have a problem with it.
I would be thinking
it would be great. Um
I think it's spinning.
Oh, Ross.
Ross. Ross.
You're gonna get a big smooch.
It's comin' for ya.
It's comin' for ya! Ross!
Even though we passed,
leaving last was a real blow.
We just had to hope for a miracle.
We're just hoping no more mistakes
between now and the pit stop.
We can't afford a mistake.
Pick and Polish - that way.
Smash this out.
Scrub hard. Scrub fast.
Let's just get this done quick.
Let's go, Shan.
Oh, shit!
Oh! Someone's forgotten their bags.
Someone's left their bags.
That was a great moment for us.
It was.
Because we knew, at some stage,
someone had to come back and get them.
There's still a glimmer of hope here
that we can get to the pit stop on time.
Oh, no! We left our bags!
My heart just came out of my body.
We left our bags!
We left our bags.
And now we had to do a full U-turn,
go and get our bags back.
We were gonna fall into
the back of the pack.
Jesus Christ!
Finally got into the car park
of the truck museum.
We sprinted to our bags.
Oh, my God.
Go, go, go, go.
We're gonna make it.
We're gonna make it.
So we got back in the car
and we just tried to
catch up to them as quickly as we could.
We're screwed.
Through the shed and around the sheep.
Oh, thank you.
Thanks so much.
Just up there.
Hey, guys. Nice work. Thank you.
Amazing. Nice work.
Thank you.
Hi, guys. Hi.
Hello.
We wanna get it
as clean as possible.
Thank you, thank you.
Alright, the mums are here now,
Dwes. We need to get moving.
The mums are here.
Yeah, we're quite close with
the girls now. We're neck and neck.
Let's go. Ready?
I feel like that's really lovely.
Nice and soft.
Can we please get it checked?
Can we get it checked?
Is it looking better?
Great work there.
Oh, thank you! Oh, my God!
Thank you. Thank you so much.
Thank you. Appreciate it.
"Hurry. The last team to arrive
may be eliminated."
Yeah, let's go.
Let's go.
Hat off to you, sir.
This is hard work.
Thank you very much. Let's go, Dad.
Thank you very much.
Thank you very much.
"Hurry. The last team to arrive
may be eliminated."
Beautiful. Let's go.
Let's go.
Your fleece is acceptable.
Thank you.
Beautiful.
Thank you so much.
One more. One more.
Beautiful.
Thank you.
"Hurry. The last team may be eliminated."
Alright, cool.
I think, Malaan, catch your breath now.
When we land, we're running.
Yeah.
We cannot be eliminated today.
No, we're not gonna be eliminated today.
Like, I'm hoping our
competitive energy now
is going to give us the edge.
Yeah, me too.
Let's go.
Hi, guys.
Hi.
How you doing?
Thank you very much.
Run.
We lost lots of time doing that.
Yeah.
We're under a lot of pressure,
which is not fun.
But we just have to
have a good attitude.
I've gotta give it to Violeta,
she's remained really positive.
It was probably the only thing
that kept us going.
It was really, really helpful.
We've had our fair share
of setbacks today,
so we're just hoping for a miracle here
and we can get back to pit stop
before another team.
Good work, guys.
Yes!
Yes, OK. OK.
Oh, my God.
Let's go.
"Hurry. The last team to arrive
may be eliminated."
Let's go.
Let's go.
I can see other teams leaving,
and the pressure is strong.
This is really, really hard.
And I'm feeling really down.
I thought that was it.
We were last by such a long way.
If you think about where the
other teams are, you'd give up.
We just have to remain
focused on our task.
Yeah, you've got it.
Do we just put it in here?
Yep.
Almost. Come on.
Whoo!
Come on!
"Make your way to Stockman's Hall of
Fame to find Beau at the pit stop.
"Hurry. The last team may
be eliminated." Let's go.
Whoo! We're on our way back
to the pit stop.
So, Malaan and Tina
are gone. They were here.
And so have Dwes and Katherine.
They've left as well.
So we're just putting all
our money on the solar farmers
taking a long time.
Oh, my goodness. I just think
we chose the wrong detour.
But we're here,
we've gotta commit to it.
Hopefully, with a bit of luck,
we can get out just behind the rest.
Catch up on the road or on foot.
We've got groups behind us.
G'day, and welcome to Longreach.
Thank you very much.
Skye-Blue, Jake, you are
the fourth team to check in.
Alright, guys, see you later. Go!
Get some water, Skye!
Go get some water!
Hi.
Holly, Dolor, you are
the fifth team to check in.
Oh, thank you. Oh, my God.
Hit our goal.
How was the Salvage?
It was great.
It was great.
And it was a big advantage?
It was a massive advantage, yeah.
Yeah, it made a big difference.
Come on.
Come on, Dad.
Jobelle, Rani, you are
the sixth team to check in.
Whoo!
Yee-ha!
Let's go, Jess.
G'day, and welcome to Longreach.
Sefa and Jess, you are
the seventh team to check in.
Yeah, baby!
Whoo!
Alright, go have a sleep. See ya.
Thanks, Beau.
Like, we just don't want to
go home today, honestly.
Malaan and I have been through a
lot. We've had a lot of challenges.
I think all those experiences
have really made us
strong and confident young women.
Yesterday, they gave us a time penalty
because of the dinosaur puzzle,
when it broke.
That's what's been stressing me out
the whole day, but
We've done everything right today,
T, so let's just hope for the best.
Alright, T, come on.
Let's do this.
Ooh!
Malaan and Tina
..you are the eighth team to arrive.
However, you will serve
a 10-minute penalty
because you broke the tail of
the dinosaur at the dino dig.
So please step to the side of the mat.
Thanks, Beau.
We're stuck at
the pit stop, waiting.
We knew that some teams
were still coming in.
This is going to be the
longest wait of our lives.
One, two, three.
But one of us could not speak for the
That was actually really hard
'cause we hadn't talked for so long.
We were really at our lowest.
One more. Are we there?
Thank you so much.
"Make your way to the Stockman's Hall
of Fame to find Beau at the pit stop.
"Hurry. The last team to arrive
may be eliminated."
Let's go, Shan.
I feel really, really confident.
What are you thinking, Shan?
Yeah. OK, we'll take it.
Keep the pressure on it,
keep the pressure on it.
You can't just scrub it like that,
you have to keep the pressure on.
It is. The pressure
is on it, Jordan.
Everything that could have
gone wrong went wrong today.
So we were thinking,
Jude and Shannon have caught up,
like, we could be last.
OK, let's get it checked.
Thank you very much. Thank you.
Thank you so much. Let's go. Let's go.
Come on, let's go, let's go,
let's go, let's go, let's go.
I really hope we can get through this.
I'm just praying that
we're not last.
We have no idea where
the other teams are.
We don't know what place we're in.
It's good, baby. We've done alright.
The girls might have a penalty.
Hello.
Hello.
Chris and Aleisha,
you are the ninth team to arrive.
However, you are the
eighth team to check in.
Sorry, girls.
That's OK.
Congrats.
Thank you.
Good stuff, you're still in
the race. Proud of you, guys.
Go and recover.
Go and have a rest. Come on!
G'day, and welcome to Longreach.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Dwes and Katherine, you are
the 10th team to arrive.
Whoo!
But you're the ninth team to check in.
Yes.
We're so grateful,
we're still in the game.
We're so thankful for that opportunity
to redeem ourselves on the next leg.
Yay!
Come on, come on, come on.
Let's go, let's go, let's go, Shan.
We're just gonna leg it
once we get to the pit stop.
We're gonna leg it.
Let's finish this strong, V.
Just bring it home strong,
no matter what.
We've got this, lady.
Almost there.
Is it the pit stop?
My adrenaline is pumping.
There's another car coming.
OK. That's OK. Pull in next
to them, pull in next to them.
Go. Let's go, let's go.
Come on!
Come on.
Jordan and Violeta, you are
the 11th team to arrive,
but you're the 10th team
to check in.
Yes! Yes!
I don't know if I've ever
been so happy in my life.
You're still in the race.
We want to be in this race.
We're going to focus on
climbing up those spots.
We're gonna work really hard.
Go and catch a rest. Go and have
a rest. Go and have a shower.
Malaan and Tina,
please step back on the mat.
Girls, you have served your
10-minute penalty and now
..you are the 11th team to check in.
You're still in the race.
Thanks, guys.
Well done, girls.
Thank you so much.
We'll see you soon.
We're determined to catch up.
Just give it our all.
And, yeah, try and climb
our way up to the top.
Where we belong.
Jude, Shannon, you are
..the last team to check in.
Oh, really?
And your time on the Race is over.
We gave it our all.
We gave it all.
There's nothing else we could have done.
You've gotta be proud of each
other, come on. Yeah, we are.
I'm super proud
that we've got here today
and got through the prelim rounds.
You've got some good news - you get to
go home to your family, give them a hug.
Fantastic.
Keep smiling and walk proud.
Will do.
You did yourselves proud.
Thanks so much. Thanks, Beau.
We have had the absolute
time of our life.
We have spent quality time together.
We have visited amazing
destinations in Australia.
For me, this is an unforgettable
moment that we, knowing Jude and I,
we will talk again and
again and again about.
Whoo!
Whoo!
Coming up on
The Amazing Race Australia
It's like a paradise.
The whole world is within Australia.
..we're off for a week
of island hopping.
This is The Amazing Race!
It's amazing!
But for some teams,
this ain't no holiday.
Bad luck. Alright, let's try again.
I'm sorry.
No, it's OK.
I just felt so frustrated.
It's a week so tough
It's game on.
They're gonna hate us now.
Now they've got a target on their heads.
..one team
I really started to panic.
Dad, Dad
..will be forced to quit.
He was not moving,
he was not in a good way.
- Can he continue in the race?
- No.
See you on the other side, bro.
Let's go.
