the sixth leg of
The Amazing Race Australia.

and accounts for a third

And it's the next stop on
The Amazing Race Australia
for the remaining ten teams.

who pointed us to the right direction.

From there they'll fly together
to Cairns,
where there will be two ferries
to Fitzroy Island.

We've got a head start
in front of everyone else, so
There's a one-and-a-half-hour gap
between the ferries.

Heading into this leg,
we started in the top five.
If things go south, we just stay
positive and work our way back up.
But that was our initial plan,
was to finish in the top three.
We finally get to go
to the Great Barrier Reef.

We've made it to the top five.
Everything was going as planned.
I was thinking
maybe we get to win this leg.

Detour.
Restoration or Rehabilitation?
A Detour is a choice
between two challenges,
each with its own pros and cons.
In this Detour,
teams must choose between
Restoration and Rehabilitation.
In Restoration,
teams will head out to the reef.
Sadly, over the last three decades,
the Great Barrier Reef erosion
has been devastating.
Lately, we've seen
its health and size decline
because of a little thing
called global warming.
But there's a plan to replenish it.
And it ain't going to be easy.
Teams will dive underwater
in a Scuba Doo
and tend to a baby coral plantation.
And there they'll find
lots of healthy coral
growing on two coral trees.
They must then correctly count
all 109 baby coral
hanging from the trees' branches.
When they've done that,
the underwater judge
will give them their next clue.
But if our teams don't like the deep
sea or small, confined spaces,
this ain't the challenge to do.
Good luck doing that.
For teams who choose Rehabilitation,
they'll head to the Sea Turtle
Rehabilitation Centre,
where they will help injured,
endangered sea turtles
and undertake the time-consuming task
of caring for one of these
beautiful creatures,
getting them one step closer
to returning to the wild.
Once they've successfully
washed the turtles' tank filters,
leaving them absolutely spotless,
and fed their turtle
30 deboned squid and 5 cut-up fish,
they'll receive their next clue.

it was very rewarding.

we had to go and count baby coral
off these trees, so

and you get under there
and you drive this little machine
underwater.
The first five minutes,
I was good as gold,
but pretty quickly I started getting
really, really claustrophobic.
And then it just hit me.
Jacko's sitting there
and half having a panic attack.
Just felt like I was gasping for air
the whole time.
Just was gasping,
could not get any air.
Just felt really really uneasy.
We had to go and count baby
Baby corals.
The first five minutes
I was good as gold.
And then it just hit me.

I just felt, if I go back down there,
and I waste more time,
it's just gonna put us back
even further.
We thought,
let's just go change detour.
You can't do it, you can't do it.
No, I know. But it's just
I hate letting the team down.
It's never a good idea to change
detours and lose valuable time.
Let's just hope we can do
the other detour really quickly.
With these, we are just going to have
to forget about them, yeah?

fact that they're hard to see out of.
We were on the second boat
and we had a Sabotage.
So we knew that we needed to work
really hard.

For their next challenge,
our teams are heading to Green Island,
the birthplace of tourism on
the Great Barrier Reef.
It's been a tourist destination
since the 1890s.
And to keep this paradise beautiful,
teams will clean up and collect glass
bottles hidden around the island.
To hunt down the glass bottles,
they'll each get a treasure map
where X marks the spot,
collecting one bottle
from each of the five locations.
When they have all five bottles,
they can retrieve and decipher
the message hidden inside.
"Take bottles to recycling plant."
When they've done that,
they'll receive their next clue.
But first, they'll race to sign up
for one of two boat trips to get there.
And only five teams
can fit on the first boat.
We're number one again.

Restoration or Rehabilitation?
A Detour is a choice
between two challenges,
each with its own pros and cons.
In this Detour,
teams must choose between
Restoration and Rehabilitation.
In Restoration,
teams will head out to the reef.
Sadly, over the last three decades,
the Great Barrier Reef erosion
has been devastating.
Lately, we've seen
its health and size decline
because of a little thing
called global warming.
But there's a plan to replenish it.
And it ain't going to be easy.
Teams will dive underwater
in a Scuba Doo
and tend to a baby coral plantation.
And there they'll find
lots of healthy coral
growing on two coral trees.
They must then correctly count
all 109 baby coral
hanging from the trees' branches.
When they've done that,
the underwater judge
will give them their next clue.
But if our teams don't like the deep
sea or small, confined spaces,
this ain't the challenge to do.
Good luck doing that.
For teams who choose Rehabilitation,
they'll head to the Sea Turtle
Rehabilitation Centre,
where they will help injured,
endangered sea turtles
and undertake the time-consuming task
of caring for one of these
beautiful creatures,
getting them one step closer
to returning to the wild.
Once they've successfully
washed the turtles' tank filters,
leaving them absolutely spotless,
and fed their turtle
30 deboned squid and 5 cut-up fish,
they'll receive their next clue.

For their next challenge,
our teams are heading to Green Island,
the birthplace of tourism on
the Great Barrier Reef.
It's been a tourist destination
since the 1890s.
And to keep this paradise beautiful,
teams will clean up and collect glass
bottles hidden around the island.
To hunt down the glass bottles,
they'll each get a treasure map
where X marks the spot,
collecting one bottle
from each of the five locations.
When they have all five bottles,
they can retrieve and decipher
the message hidden inside.
"Take bottles to recycling plant."
When they've done that,
they'll receive their next clue.
But first, they'll race to sign up
for one of two boat trips to get there.
And only five teams
can fit on the first boat.
We're number one again.
