Oh, she's got it bad.

If you do like this handsome captain,

Let him know.
There you are.
VI:
How was your time with Marcus?
There was a point
where we almost kissed.
VI [GASPS]: And?
Wait.

- You're right.
Sorry.
MILES: We should have dinner.
- The two of us.

Well, I mean,

MEL: Okay, guys, can both of you stop

Either I'm on this team or I'm not.
Let's go.

Spelman's great. I love it.

Let me guess.
College applications?
Yeah, I mean, what else
would Dad be obsessing about
before breakfast?
Yeah, it's a little early
for that, don't you think?
Just making sure she gets

- How about we get a jump on breakfast?
- DELILAH: Mom,
I am going to see you later, right?
- Please say yes.

Why are you so concerned
with your mother being there
when she's already met the kid?
Uh
[WEAK CHUCKLE] Dad

Oh. Well, if, by intense,

in the life of my daughter
and wanting what's best for her,

meeting Cam for the first time.

I have a Police and Community
Alliance meeting this afternoon.
You reading that cute Captain

I'll be performing my civic duty.
Nothing more.
Well, Miles,

He's a good kid.
I misjudged him at first,

college isn't for everyone.

DELILAH: I'll explain later, okay?
[PHONE RINGS]
Excuse me, I got to take this.
[DELILAH SPEAKING INDISTINCTLY]
Hey. Everything okay?
Hey.
Everything's fine. Listen
I know I crossed a line the other day,
and I wanted to apologize.
It's all right. I get it.
Listen, um
I hate to say this,
but now's not exactly
a good time. Can I call you back later?
Uh, yeah.
My sister's been away for seven years.
I wanted to be there
when she was released.
Wanted my face to be
the first thing she saw
when she walked out.
So, when the day finally came,
I waited at the gate with flowers.
- But
- But she never came out.
Well, is it possible the date was
pushed back or moved up?
Well, that's what I thought at first.
So I refused to leave
until I talked to someone.
They swear Jenna was released.
They showed me the
paperwork and everything.
But I was standing right there.
She wasn't.
When was the last time you
actually talked to your sister?
A few months ago.
She was so excited to be getting out.
Has all these plans to open her own gym.
No contact since then?
No. I've been traveling for work.
And the truth is, she didn't
really like people visiting her.
Seeing her in there like that.
What exactly was she in for?
Manslaughter.
No, look, you have to understand,
we had a rough upbringing.
Jenna got into boxing as a teenager,
at first to defend herself,
but she was really good.
Started to work as a
trainer to pay the bills.
Until, um
Until what?
[SIGHS]
Until a woman she was training died
during their sparring match.
One punch landed wrong. It was horrible.
But Jenna turned herself in.
She's a good person.
Please. I'm all she has.
If she took responsibility
and served her time,
it sounds like she deserves
a second chance.
So, then you'll help me find her?
I'll see what I can do.
HARRY: So, I scrubbed all
the gate surveillance footage.
Andrew's right,
his sister never came out.
ROBYN: But the prison
has a different story.
Yeah. According to public records,
Jenna Banks was released two days ago
and is now a free woman.
But we all saw the video.
She's still in there.
ROBYN: Could she have been
transferred to another facility?
It's possible.
But that should be in her inmate record.
The problem is, is when I hack
into the, uh, prison database,
there's no, uh, parole info,
there's no medical or incident reports.
All that should be on file.
Yeah, it should be. Just, it isn't.
I mean, there's no digital
record, anyway. Just
when she was processed in
and supposedly released.
So she's just missing?
Lost in the system?
How does that happen?
Honestly, I wish I was more surprised.
I know, with all the overcrowding
and budget cuts, I'm sure
recordkeeping takes a back seat.
So, you think this is a clerical error?
It's possible.
But there could be
something else going on.
Well, hold on a second.
Whatever happened to her, it may
not have been the first time.
A few years ago,
there was an inmate named Ciara Perry
who went missing from Hopefield.
Her parents filed
a negligence suit, but, uh,
looks like it's still pending.
We need to talk to that family.
Yeah, I agree.
Whatever happened to Ciara
might have something to do
with what's going on with Jenna.
Yeah. And while we do that, Harry,
see if you can get some answers
out of Hopefield's warden.
Huh. Lucky me.
You know I have a
Okay.
[SNIFFLES]
She was a wonderful daughter.
Got caught up with the
wrong crowd, that's all.
She was serving her time.
She was on the right track.
And then
She called us every day like clockwork.
And then, suddenly,
it stopped.
Well, when's the last time
you heard from her?
Right before she was
scheduled to be released.
And the prison never
gave you any information?
None.
We tried everything we could think of.
We filed claims with the warden,
we wrote letters to Congress,
we hired a top lawyer, and
None of which did any good.
All we got was the runaround.
And your daughter's still missing?
[SOBS SOFTLY]
After a year of begging for answers,
a box showed up from
the Department of Corrections.
Inside
Ciara's ashes.
[SIGHS]
HARRY: Oh.
Okay, well, that's horrible.
We are not gonna let Jenna
end up like Ciara Perry.
How'd it go with the warden?
I repeatedly asked him
to see hard copies
of Jenna's inmate records,
and he told me he wasn't there
to answer my questions and then gave me
a small tree's worth
of paperwork to fill out.
That's all you got out of him?
I left out a few colorful phrases.
I did get the sense, however,
that hard copies do exist
and based on the paperwork he gave me,
I think they're in his office.
We got to get access to those files.
Maybe Dante can reach out
to D.A. Grafton
and she can help
cut through this red tape.
It's worth a shot, but
I wouldn't get your hopes up.
The Perrys spent a year
going the legal route.
Look what happened to their daughter.
Yeah, I-I'm with Robyn.
We can't afford to burn that much time.
Which means there's only
one way to do this.
[INDISTINCT ANNOUNCEMENT OVER P.A.]
So, you're gonna call
D.A. Grafton for me?
Think she could put all
the pieces together.
Can I convince you
to press pause until she does?
- Not a chance.
- For the record,
I'm not sure this is
the safest idea you've ever had.
Well, you'd be right.
Remember,
this is a state facility, not federal.
Which means, once they close
those gates, anything goes wrong,
it'll be near impossible
for me to get you out.
Well, another reason for
you to call Grafton for me.
Robyn, please tell me you
have an exit strategy.
I'll be fine.
Which is more than I can say for Jenna
if we don't find out what's going on.
Besides, I'll have a
little help on the inside.
DANTE: Mel?
ROBYN: She's going in as a CO.
Jenna's not the first person
to disappear from here.
She's gonna find the prisoner records.
And you're gonna look for Jenna.
That's the plan.
All right.
Time to get into character.
