The Amazing Race Australia
This is The Amazing Race!
It's amazing
..teams went island-hopping
through Queensland
That was so much fun!
And I didn't vomit!
Mate, I'm on a roll.
Oh!
..as they continued
their epic adventure
- Back up, now!
- So beautiful.
..around the country.
Oh, my God!
The whole world is within Australia.
Tonight
Welcome to Darwin, everyone.
..the Queensland holiday is over.
For our nine remaining teams,
the competition enters a new phase
Whoo!
..with a new gear
Aaagh!
You feel like you're gonna die.
..and a new twist.
What the?
100% curveball none of us expected.
After a week on the islands
of Far North Queensland,
teams are now on their way to Darwin
..the gateway to the Northern Territory,
including Litchfield National Park
and the Red Centre.
A part of Australia filled
with intrigue, adventure,
danger and surprises.
I'm here in Darwin Airport,
Northern Territory,
waiting for our teams to
land and continue racing.
And when they get here, I have
a very, very big surprise for them.
Surprise.
Welcome to the race, MJ and Chelsea.
- Thank you very much.
- How you feeling, girls?
We are stowaways.
And the race has actually
started already,
so we're coming in, we don't
know any of these other teams.
How do you think the other teams
will feel, right now, when they see you?
They might be a bit angry. Who knows?
I'm MJ. 31.
And I'm Chelsea. I'm 29.
And we both play for the Adelaide Crows
in the AFLW competition.
We are comin' for the other teams.
We're comin' for this race.
We're comin' to win. Watch out.
- Are you guys ready?
- Yeah, we're ready.
Let's meet the teams, huh?
- There's a new team here.
- Oh Good times.
Right, gather round, teams.
I've got a little surprise for you.
What the?
Like, we had no idea
that this going to be the surprise
at the start in the new leg.
No. Is that a new team?
As soon as
I saw Chelsea and MJ,
I automatically knew who they were.
They're AFLW players.
And Chelsea's actually
my favourite player.
So, I was a bit like, "Oh, my God."
Welcome to Darwin, everyone.
And welcome to the race, our stowaways,
MJ and Chelsea.
They'll be joining the
race from right now.
How's everyone feeling?
You like the stowaways?
- They look fit.
- Oh, my goodness.
Those legs and the squash heads.
They looked tough and we
knew they were physically
tough, they're gonna be mentally tough,
and we knew that we had another
top contender that was in the game.
Now, the girls want to win a quarter
of a million dollars, as you all do.
And with them both being
professional AFLW players,
let me tell you, these girls know
a thing or two about winning.
So, teams, are you ready to race?
Yes!
Are you guys ready to race?
Yeah, we are. - Let's do it.
Your first clue is on the
vehicles over there, behind you.
MJ and Chelsea, because you'll need
to earn your place in the race,
the other teams will get
a five-minute head start.
Race safe, race hard.
Three, two, one Go!
"Route Info."
"Make your way
to Crocodylus Park.
"Help the park rangers relocate
and measure a saltwater crocodile."
This is the most deadly challenge
so far, let me tell you.
Now, the NT has 100,000 saltwater crocs,
the apex predator of Australia.
The largest one ever
caught was 8.5 metres.
Now, teams must come
here, to Crocodylus Park,
and relocate a saltwater crocodile.
They must carry it 450 metres,
measure it so park rangers
can track its growth,
then release it in this lagoon.
Once they've done that, the ranger
will give them their next clue.
And that little bad boy over there,
he's gonna have some
friends to play with.
Now, let's get out. I've got a
chicken sandwich in my pocket.
- Let's go. - Let's go.
- Come on, let's go, let's go.
- Those girls look strong.
- They do look strong.
The new stowaways 100% is a curveball
that none of us expected.
Especially 'cause the other
all-girl teams have been eliminated.
We're ready to show the
girls that we can beat them
and we've got our eyes on them.
Those girls, they look fit.
They look like they
really want to win it.
- They look pretty jacked.
- They look fit as hell.
When I saw them, I was scared.
Well, MJ and Chelsea,
your five minutes are up.
- You guys ready to race?
- Yeah, we are. - Let's do it.
Three, two, one
Go!
Let's go, Chels. Go, Chels. Here we go.
Just rip. Come on!
Here we go. Give me that.
OK, "Make your way to Crocodylus Park."
Let's go. You drive. Let's go.
Those teams hated us.
Ha!
We've just gotta run our
race and do what we can.
Oh, yeah! Whoo!
How good is it that our first
couple of years of AFLW,
half our team lived and trained up here.
We're professional athletes,
so I think our strategy
is to just focus in on us.
Well done.
- And
- Climb our way to the top.
We do like to win.
Ha-ha!
We're here!
We arrived in first position. It was
actually a really nice feeling.
Alright, come on.
Follow the arrows.
Oh, here. Arrow.
Darwin is, like, our second home.
It's our closest city to the Kimberley.
Yeah, we love
it 'cause we know it.
Come on. Come on, let's
go. Let's get this croc.
Come on. Side entrance.
As soon as we got in the car
park, we saw Dwes and Katherine there.
We knew that this is their territory.
We knew they'd been
brought up in Darwin,
so they knew this area really well.
And us being neck and neck with them
But you know what? Let them be
in front. Let them be in front.
When the right opportunity
comes, we'll over take.
Hello, guys. Welcome to Crocodylus Park.
My name's John. We also have Rhiannon.
- Hey, guys.
- Hi.
You're gonna come up near the head.
Just wait. We'll demonstrate first.
Be very mindful of your hands.
Be careful of the teeth.
- Yep.
- The teeth are still hanging out.
You don't want to scratch your hand.
If the crocodile begins
to thrash too much,
both squat down.
Give it a nice hug.
I've never ever gotten
close to a crocodile.
Never touched one before.
It was intimidating.
It was just overwhelming.
Perfect. Firm grip.
Right under the jaw
with your fingers, if you can.
Yeah.
You can touch him. Nice and firm.
And then lift up to your knees.
Yep, that's it. Grab that other leg.
- Got a nice grip on it?
- Both back legs. Both back legs.
Both back legs.
That's it. Shannon will assist you.
Great. Let's go.
OK.
If it wriggles and you lose your grip,
just stay still till it stops.
Having a live animal that
could actually thrash around
was quite intimidating for me.
Right, be careful when
you're going up the steps
- to match each other's pace.
- Yep.
Left, right, left.
I've felt croc skin,
I've felt croc leather.
But to be carrying a live
croc in our own hands,
my heart sunk
Keep nice and calm.
So, "You will be
assigned a crocodile.
"This decision is based
on proportional weight."
We're gonna get a big one.
The one thing that I
hate in all the universe
and that is crocodiles.
Just the way that they move,
it just freaks me out.
Like, a real big one!
Yeah, as long as
you can carry it, we're good.
OK, let's go.
Oh, there's the sign.
Close the door.
Crocodiles that way.
- Where did the girls go?
- There.
Welcome to Crocodylus Park.
We'll give you a demonstration
on how to correctly handle
the crocodile now.
Ooh! Ooh!
You're gonna stand up together.
And you'll walk up the hill with Liam.
- Knees.
- Yep. On your knees. Same spot.
Put your hand around and under.
- Your left hand.
- Hold it.
I've got what I'm supposed to be doing.
Let go with your left hand.
I'm trying to
Yep. That's it.
Yep. Bend the neck a bit more.
- That's it.
- Alright, stand up.
- Are you both comfortable?
- Yeah, it's in the clue.
- One person holds the head at all time.
- Yep.
Another person gets the tape measure.
I was just really scared that
I was gonna make it angry.
Hold it. It's dangerous.
- 181.
- Yep.
Put her onto the ground.
- That's
- Bring her this way.
Afraid I might cut this.
I saw how upset he'd be.
So scared I'm gonna make it angry.
And back behind that tree there, guys.
Thank you very much.
Yes!
Thanks, boys.
Detour.
A Detour is a choice
between two challenges,
each with its own pros and cons.
And in this Detour, teams must
choose between Treat It or Eat It.
Teams that choose Treat It will join
the Royal Flying Doctor Service,
an Aussie institution that
began way back in 1928.
In this hangar, they'll discover
patients awaiting treatment.
They'll need great attention to
detail to identify three wounds -
a burn, a head trauma and a snake bite.
They'll then administer the
correct first aid treatment
as precisely instructed
in their medical manuals.
Once the patients have
been accurately treated,
they will receive their next clue.
Now, teams that choose Eat It,
they'll need to come down here
to the Laksa House and meet
the Laksa Queen herself, Amye.
Hi!
Laksa is considered to be
the signature dish of Darwin,
so they'll have to have
their tastebuds turned on
to follow her
world-famous recipe to a T.
And once Amye tastes it, and gives
it the nod of approval, then
..they'll receive their next clue.
Damn, that's good, Amye.
- Let's go and do this laksa.
- Yep.
Let's go.
I'm feeling pretty good.
We're in the lead at the moment,
but the Super Sikhs
were right behind us,
so we just have to get to this
next challenge and keep this lead.
And he's free.
Thank you!
Detour, baby.
- Laksa. Let's go laksa. Let's go laksa.
- Let's go Eat It.
Crocodylus.
What the freak, man? I've seen the sign.
We don't know anything about Darwin
or where we're going or what general
direction is which way is which.
Left onto
I'm looking for somewhere to
stop so we can ask somebody.
We don't know where to go.
There wasn't really
anybody else to follow
and so we had to figure
things out on our own again.
Let's go!
Don't touch him! Ahhh!
- Dolor's reaction was just
- Oh, mate.
..like he touched a spider.
Ahh! Oh, sorry.
- 187cm.
- Good stuff, guys.
Just make sure you've got a grip.
Good grip.
Hold him. You're right.
That's it. You're right. Good work.
Now, try and flick that
tail back up, if you can.
Yep, that's the way.
- Flick the tail back.
- You've got hold of him, mate?
I've got him.
Turned into Steve Irwin
there for two seconds.
Really give it a wrangle.
- His teeth.
- Watch your fingers.
Watch your fingers.
Ow.
- Want me to try?
- Cut myself.
I need a Band-Aid.
I had to jump in and do
the top of the mouth.
I need a Band-Aid.
- Thank you! Thank you.
- I appreciate it. Thank you.
- You did well.
- OK, let's go.
- Treat It for sure.
- Treat It, OK.
- OK, let's go.
- Let's go.
- That's 192.5.
- Yep.
Bye-bye, Felicia. Bye, Felicia.
- Legend. Thanks, mate. See youse later.
- Hooroo.
- I think we'll go Treat It, eh?
- Treat It.
Good idea.
Bob. And up.
Just unwrap it.
And then jump back behind
that big tall tree there.
Make sure that tape is cut.
See you later, whatever your name was.
Thank you!
Royal Flying Doctors hangar.
I reckon this would be
so much fun to do.
- Yeah.
- Let's do Treat It.
Treat It, let's go.
"Make your way to the famous Laksa
House, home of Darwin's Laksa Queen.
"Create a perfect bowl of Devil's Laksa
"and then receive your next clue."
What you want to do?
Eat It? OK, let's go.
Hello, Auntie! How are you?
Where do we go?
- Under the tree. More cooler.
- OK.
Quick! Tasting.
- What's the name of the place?
- Laksa House.
- Here, here, here, here.
- Perfect.
When we got there, we saw
Dwes and Katherine there.
So, we knew we were
still in that top pack.
Cutting the lemongrass and
chilli, smash them here.
Cooking a really good laksa,
the flavours need to be perfect,
they need to all balance.
You've got to juggle the
spicy with the sweet
and you've just got to have
the right amount of coconut milk.
I know just how important it is
to allow all of the flavours to develop.
You can't rush a good laksa.
- How much chilli?
- Up to you.
- You don't want it hot?
- We'll just do one, hey?
I won't tell you too much.
You have to do your best.
She sort of gave us our instructions
and then, like, "Nope, no more.
"It's up to you to do now."
- More lemongrass?
- Up to you.
Oh, my God. Her personality,
one-of-a-kind, I must say.
Auntie, I think we've
got a good one here.
- Are you a chef or what?
- OK.
Put it in?
Nek minnit, buh-bow.
Side entrance? Side entrance?
Let's go this way, this way.
Crocodylus Park.
We're here. We made it.
Duck duck goose.
- Treat It? Let's go.
- Let's do Treat It.
- Eat It. Sweet.
- Let's go.
Here we are, Jess.
Everyone's here. Bloody hell.
I'm the best navigator, right?
There we are. Down this way.
Snakes I am OK with.
But crocodiles
Oh, my gosh. Not today.
- One, two, three.
- Lift up. Yep.
Oh, my God.
I wasn't too phased.
It's just like a footy game.
Just got to pace yourself throughout the
whole entire day and go from there.
- Like a footy but with legs, right?
- Yeah.
I'm gonna carry it as if
I'm carrying a baby.
A giant baby.
- Hurry up, Jess. Come on.
- I know!
- Yep.
- So
- Put the back. Bend it.
- Oh, my God!
No!
You're doing well. OK.
You alright?
OK.
Under. Bend that head.
Turn the head and bend the tail.
You good.
- You're right, Jess?
- Have you got a good grip?
- Got a good grip, Jess?
- Awesome. Stand up together.
I had to hold the legs
as well as the tail
and it was just slipping off.
We were the last one in to
make our way to the challenge
- so we can't waste not even a second.
- Yeah.
Walk faster.
Stop screaming.
- Have you got it?
- Yeah.
The challenge was to carry this
crocodile between the two of us
to a pond area
and release it.
- Oh, I've lost his foot a bit.
- We might just have to put him
- Just put him on your
- Stop, readjust.
- You ready?
- Oops.
Sorry, mate.
I'm holding its head, facing
its teeth to me. It felt really
- It felt heavy.
- It was, like, maybe 40 to 50 kilos.
- He's all good?
- Yeah.
- Hold it down. Hold it down.
- OK, now we need to measure.
- 183.
- 183.
While MJ was cutting the tape
off the crocodile's mouth,
I was just scanning, like, the entire
water park and backpedalling my exit.
I knew exactly where to go
if anything went wrong.
No rest. We're going. Let's go.
We got teams to catch up on.
- There you go.
- Yes!
- Thank you.
- Well done. Awesome.
- Sweet.
- No worries.
- Have a good one.
- Appreciate it.
I am loving it. I wanna do that
again and again and again. And win.
- Treat It?
- Let's do it. Go.
Oh, my God.
- You good?
- Yeah.
We were the last one in to
make our way to the challenge,
so we can't waste not even a second.
Let's go. Jump. Let's walk.
As daunting as it is, we just had to
- ..push through it.
- Keep going.
Let's go.
Ahh, ahh, ahh!
Sefa, walk faster.
And just put his head Make
sure the crocodile is straight.
Yeah.
One person grabs the tape measure.
Jess, you wanna grab the tape measure?
- Are you sure?
- Yeah.
- You hold the head, bro.
- Yeah.
Throughout the race, I've got to
experience a lot of my fears,
like swimming - I can't swim.
Reptiles - just handling.
One of the biggest one.
- 193.5.
- Yeah, correct.
Felt like the last couple of
legs has been, like, full
- Really testing you.
- ..jam-packed of those.
- Is it alive?
- Yeah.
It's alive.
- There we have it.
- Thank you very much.
- Thank you. - Appreciate it.
- Good luck.
- What do you wanna do?
- Treat It.
- Treat It?
- Yeah.
Flying Doctor.
We're doing Flying Doctor. Let's go.
Auntie, I think we've
got a good one here.
This needs a coconut thing.
This challenge was to make a laksa.
The hardest part about this challenge
will be making the Laksa Queen happy.
Little bit. Put one more.
We need to follow this recipe to a T.
I feel like I could take
the Sikhs on this one,
because I'm in my element
here now, cooking.
Darwin is famous for laksa
because of the immigrants,
and the people that came up from Asia
really influenced the
food culture in Darwin.
- OK.
- First laksa. Hopefully it goes well.
Looks good.
Coming.
- I'm very confident cooking laksa.
- OK.
However, Amye knows how to
make laksa. She's famous for that.
So, it was kind of a
little bit intimidating.
It's nice, but, uh not good enough.
Oh, OK. Let's bring that back.
- We'll cook it again.
- Yeah. Too much salt.
Come on, let's go, Kath.
I was pretty disappointed.
- Do we start again, or?
- Yeah, yeah. We just add to it.
We need more sugar.
- Hello.
- Hello.
- How does it look?
- Beautiful laksa.
OK.
Not good enough.
- Coconut cream is
- More coconut cream?
Yeah. This too runny water.
OK. No worries. Easy.
- Thank you very much.
- Thank you.
Let's go.
- Hi.
- Hello!
- Hello.
- Welcome to the Royal Flying Doctors.
We were the first team at the Detour.
So, for Treat It, "Select a patient,
assess carefully for injuries
"..diagnose and correctly
treat all three wounds.
"When ready to be judged, travel
your patient on their stretcher
"To the Flying Doctor for assessment."
This is gonna be hard.
Neither of us are first-aid trained.
There's all these different bandages
and splints.
We have no idea which ones to use.
- Is it this bandage?
- Cool.
Or is it THIS bandage?
Just one wrong bandage and we'll be
failed. It seems pretty technical.
- Head.
- Belly.
- Belly.
- And leg.
As we were there, assessing injuries,
the Cowboys turn up.
Here.
Holly and Dolor turn up as well.
We gotta look for all her injuries.
Left and then back it in over here,
- next to this car.
- Yeah.
- Let's go.
- Yep.
- And then
- Two frickin' stowaways.
- What is going on?
- No way.
- They look tough too.
- They look tough. They look cute.
They look nice.
Damn it.
- Nurse MJ!
- I don't know about that.
It makes us feel
a little bit nervous.
That's when your heart starts
to beat, 'cause you're like,
"Oh, my gosh, we really
have to get this right."
We got this, we got this.
Royal Flying Doctors hangar.
So, I'm going to assume that
we're on the right path here.
We left the Crocodylus Park quite
close to the front of the pack.
Unfortunately, we got a
little bit lost along the way.
- Are we still on Bagot Road?
- Yeah.
I had a slight intuition
that we had the wrong address.
I can't see.
In my mind, it didn't make any sense
that we were going
away from the airport.
But I internalised that and I didn't
say anything, which wasn't much use.
It was too salty.
Just a little adjustment, just
adding the sugar and coconut milk
and we should be fine.
The thing I love about cooking,
like, there's this fusion
that you can create
and, like, my flavours,
I feel like I was on point.
I think we got this one, Katherine.
Here you go. Hopefully this one perfect.
Alright.
Thank you!
- Yes!
- Thank you.
- We were like, we won MasterChef.
- Thank you!
He might do that next.
Road Block.
"Who's the sharpest?"
You do it?
- Yeah, cool, I'll do it.
- Yep?
A Road Block is a challenge that
only one team member can choose to do
based on a cryptic clue.
Remember the Aussie classic
Crocodile Dundee
when Mick Dundee's sitting down there
by the billabong with his girl, Sue,
and - bang! - a crocodile comes out
and grabs her water bottle
and tries to drag her in?
Well, this is that exact billabong.
In this challenge, teams must come here
and one chosen member must swim out
to that pontoon and grab a knife.
This is a knife.
They then have to bring it to shore
and successfully hit a target.
Just like this.
Then they'll get the next clue.
OK, let's go.
So, Kath, I think we're still
first. In the lead at this stage.
I'd love for us to be
first all the time.
Just keep your cool. We'll
be right. We got this.
Gotta try and beat these guys,
'cause now they've caught up to us.
There are four other teams
there, which was a bit of a relief,
because we knew we had
ground to make up for.
Just needed to get
in there and get it done.
This is a chest burn, so we need water.
We're both actually first-aid trained.
The head's bleeding, so let's go.
We had to be like a paramedic
and give first aid to a mannequin.
I named her Jemima.
Poor Jemima had a head trauma,
a snakebite on her left foot,
she had a chest burn.
For a burn it's, like,
20 minutes of flowing water.
Yeah, so keep going.
Everything was there,
everything was on the instructions,
and we just needed to do it
exactly like those pictures.
Cut that.
- OK.
- Yeah.
- Gonna get checked? Alright.
- Yeah.
Cool.
- Hi.
- Hi.
I hope we get this.
Oh, please, please,
please, please, please.
Please
No?
We were hoping to have
that lead on other teams,
and now we're trying to
figure out what was wrong.
- What do you think's wrong?
- I don't know.
Come on, the other teams are
catching us. Let's go, let's go.
OK, let's give it a go.
Alright, here we go.
So, I've done a lot of
search and rescue,
like, remote first aid to a lot of
different mannequins and scenarios,
so we thought we'd be OK at this.
- Poor Jemima.
- The head.
It's alright, Jemima. We got you.
- We did all we could.
- The snakebite.
It's a chest burn.
Thank you. Thank you. Brilliant.
- Brilliant.
- And awesome.
- Alright, who's the sharpest?
- Me. I'm doing it.
Let's go, let's go.
- Here we go.
- Patient coming!
- Come on, Portia, you can make it!
- Patient coming.
You can make it!
- Head wound.
- Head wound here.
She's got a burn there.
And a snakebite down there.
- Yes!
- Thank you, thank you.
Can I give you a hug?
OK. Give me that one.
- It's a Road Block.
- Road Block.
- OK. I'll do this one.
- Thank God.
Tell me when to stop, yeah?
- We just added
- It was a little bit too thin.
- A bit too thin.
- Laksa should have been thicker,
but now look at this -
it's coming out nicely.
- We've added more coconut milk to it.
- Very confident now.
'Cause this looks more like
a laksa that we'd have.
OK, take it over, take it over.
Put the spoon in there.
- That's what we wanted.
- We got this. Come on.
- Much better, right?
- Yeah.
- OK.
- Yes!
- Thank you!
- Thank you!
- "Who's the sharpest?"
- You wanna go?
- I'll go. I'll go.
- Let's go, let's go.
Right there.
'Laska' House.
Ah, classic.
Here we are.
We have to head to see the Laksa Queen.
- Hey!
- Hi!
- Lovely to meet you!
- So nice to meet you, Laksa Queen.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I've eaten a lot of
laksa. Never made it.
I've never cooked laksa before.
My knife technique is not great.
Like, this is very difficult. I
don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Do you want me to cut it
and you try some?
We were on our own to try and work out
what all of the directions that we
were given on the recipe meant.
- Not too salty.
- OK.
Maybe a little bit more of this?
We tasted it. It tasted good.
- Yep, that's good.
- Alright. More shallots on top.
- Maybe a little more.
- OK.
- Not too many. Too many.
- Let's go, let's go.
Too many shallots. OK.
Hello!
We are so excited to show you
what we've made.
OK.
I hope you love it.
Yeah.
Holy moly.
Not good enough.
She's like, "Nup. You're out."
Go back to the kitchen.
Happy?
Garnish?
Right, let's go.
- Let's get it in there.
- Coming. Let us through.
We took the time to
really just cook it correctly,
so, hopefully, the Laksa Queen was
impressed with what we were doing.
- Very good?
- You get it.
- Yeah!
- Yes!
- Oh, my God.
- You get it.
- Thank you so much.
- Enjoy.
- Oh, Road Block.
- Road Block.
"Who's the sharpest?"
- I can do it.
- Alright, let's go. You can do it.
- Let's go.
- Let's go.
The Road Block instructed us
to re-enact some stuff that happened
in the Crocodile Dundee film.
So, I have to swim
out to this pontoon,
retrieve this huge knife and swim back.
I'm ready.
"Croc-infested."
- Does it say that?
- Yeah.
Growing up, we had crocodiles
around us all the time,
so we're quite familiar with crocodiles.
But I wouldn't go swimming
with them.
Fast as you can, bro.
Oi, don't think about the crocs.
Just fast as you can.
"The lake has been surveyed
for crocodile activity.
"There are freshwater
crocodiles present."
Oh, why did I say yes?!
Oh, my God.
Keep going, bro.
You're almost there.
Almost made it.
Find that knife now!
"Exercise extreme caution.
"Move slowly, move calmly.
"Do not splash the water."
That is literally your one and only
swimming style is splashing.
Good stuff, bro. Keep going.
I don't want to swim with crocs.
As I was swimming back, I was
kind of getting caught up
in all of the reeds,
and, so, I was worried
that it was, like, crocodiles.
Good stuff. I knew you could do it.
Alright. Let's go.
He'd be safe anyway.
Like, look at this figure.
They'd be like,
"It's not even worth a meal."
I'm never going swimming.
You're doing the next one.
So, you sort of want to release it
like like that.
So, guys, I have to hit it?
Hold it by the handle,
mate. Not the blade.
Hold it like this?
Too much.
This'll be really hard to get it right.
Just come back a bit and run into it.
- Ooh!
- Oh, almost.
OK, so, we have to
Cut.
There are two other teams there -
Holly and Dolor and the Cowboys.
It was kind of nice to see other people
so that we kinda know
where we are in the pack
and what's going through my head
is, "Please, I just
don't want to be last."
- Cover her up. Alright.
- Give it a go.
OK.
All cooled down there, now.
Happy?
- Whoo!
- Thank you very much.
Road Block.
"Who's the sharpest?"
- I'll do it.
- You'll do it?
I'll do it. Might be
better than I thought.
Oh, please
- Thank you!
- Whoo-hoo!
- Thank you so much.
- Thank you. Thank you.
- Road Block.
- "Who's the sharpest?"
You are.
Let's go.
Well done. It's alright.
We're here now. We've done it.
We finally located the Detour.
We ran straight in there.
And we realised that we had
slipped to the back of the pack.
Pick a patient, pick a patient.
Knowing that we have to work so hard
to climb up that pack,
I don't know how we will.
- OK.
- Alright, let's try again.
Not good enough.
Do again.
We get knocked back once,
we get knocked back twice.
We listen to everything,
to detail of what she said,
and tried our absolute best.
This is our third attempt.
We apparently don't know how to cook.
- Hello! Yes.
- Oh, you're back again!
This is an improved recipe.
Not good enough.
Too much tamarind you put on.
We're tasting it,
we're working as a team,
trying to figure out what we're missing.
And we're cooking it again.
Not good enough.
I just felt so defeated.
Yeah.
You have to go back again.
It just seemed like
there was no end to it
and we just knew time was
slipping away from us
and our places were
falling through our hands.
She's so strict.
We could now be in the last place,
which we've never been in.
Should we start again with
new ingredients of this?
27th time lucky.
This is such a joke.
We have wasted so much
time at this Detour.
At this stage, we're the only team there
and we have been knocked back
again and again and again.
She's so strict.
I don't know what else we can do.
We're losing spots, we're losing time.
I just felt so defeated.
I feel like it needs more
..of this.
When we start to stress,
and I know when Amanda
starts to worry about
what teams are in front of us,
that's when things start to go wrong.
We just have to calm
down in those situations
and just focus on the task at hand.
Taste it.
OK, that tastes better. Let's
Alright, let's try again.
We're like, "OK, surely this is right."
- Yay! Thank you so much!
- Wow!
Alright?
- Thank you, Laksa Queen.
- Thank you.
No worries. Thank you very much.
- Thank you. Alright.
- Alright, let's go, let's go.
Road Block. "Who's the sharpest?"
- You do it.
- OK.
Sweet. Oh, did he just
come out of the water?
We get to the Road Block
and we see Dwes and Katherine
just that little bit in front of us.
They'd finished the swimming and they
were about to throw the knives.
This is our opportunity to
catch up to Katherine and Dwes
and overtake them.
Yeah, boy, let's do it.
Go, Jas. You right?
It's slippery.
Remember
..there's crocs out here,
so do not splash.
I'm struggling to get the
knife in the target.
Oi, Dwes, try to
really step into it, like
Use your legs.
He just wasn't using enough strength.
I was just starting to panic a bit.
Especially seeing the boys,
you know, hot on our heels.
Good stuff, Jas! That's it,
mate! Doing really well!
Dwes, try to give it
more strength.
Just plant your foot really hard
and then use your other foot
to just push forward.
Oh!
We're gonna do the leg. That's
pretty much what it is for this one.
Come on. Come on, come on.
The only ones that are left
with us is Jordan and Violeta.
So, we are leaving as we came in,
if we get this right.
Hey, guys, we have a Jane
Doe needing identification.
No ID found on her.
We were banking on being able to
finish that challenge first go.
It could help us buy some time
to kind of like catch up with others.
- Congratulations.
- Thank you!
Thank you very much. Jess, that's you.
- Thank you so much.
- You earned this one.
Thank you.
Road Block. "Who's the sharpest?"
- I'll do it.
- Yeah? Feeling keen?
Let's go!
- Is that it?
- Yep.
We knew that we were the last ones there
but we can still do this,
we can still catch up.
Oh, really? - No?
- Not quite.
- Oh, no!
Let's go, Jas!
So proud of you! Killing it!
They're not far behind you, mate.
You wanna hurry up.
Come on, bro. You can do this.
Whoa!
Whoo-hoo!
- Nice one, mate.
- Nice, bro.
We got this.
- Oh, thank you!
- Nice work, tiger.
Thank you!
Let's get this.
"Make your way to Hidden Valley
Raceway and find the drift cars."
Alright, let's go.
In this next challenge,
teams will come here,
to Hidden Valley Raceway.
It has the longest straight
in the Northern Territory
and is one of Australia's
most famous race circuits.
Once here
..they'll jump in a car
with a professional driver.
Now, whilst he's drifting,
they have to keep the water
in the fishbowl they're holding
above the line.
If it goes below the line,
they'll start again.
If it doesn't go below the line,
they'll get their next clue.
Get ready to drift, baby.
Come on, Justin!
Whoo! Still in first, Katherine!
Anurag and Jas are just behind us,
but we've made really good time.
And if we win, it would be so awesome.
Oh!
Don't bounce it,
mate. It's not cricket.
- Let's go.
- OK.
Here comes the new team.
They had pace.
We knew they were physical,
and they're gonna be a big threat to us.
- Here we go! Yay!
- Shh!
Oh, sorry, we gotta be quiet.
Well, I'm not a swimmer,
let alone go into croc-infested waters.
Yes, MJ.
But once we choose a
Road Block, that's it.
Like, I physically can't walk
away from this challenge
because if I don't do this,
I'm I'm failing us.
Yes, MJ!
You got this! I'm so proud of you!
Work on that aim. Deep breath.
That's it! Whoo!
- Well done. Good work.
- Thank you.
Thank you.
Let's go. Let's go.
Alright.
"Make your way to Hidden Valley Raceway
"and find the drift cars."
- Let's go.
- Let's go, let's go.
All the other teams
that were here have moved on.
Come on, come on, come on.
We've gotta focus. We're dead last.
Yeah, I know we're dead last.
This Detour, it's difficult
because you had to make sure that
you read the instructions properly
to make sure that
you're not missing anything.
She's got a head trauma.
Fix that.
OK, we did this once, so, definitely
We forgot to put a gauze mat down
on her head injury
to keep the wound clean.
We forgot to put a Band-Aid
on our woman's head.
I think that's the one we missed.
I hope it's right.
It was that one, yeah?
- OK, beautiful. Thank you so much.
- Thank you.
Perfect.
Thank you very much. OK.
- See you later.
- Bye.
- "Who's the sharpest?"
- You.
- Yeah, yeah, I'll do it.
- Let's go.
Yes, MJ!
You're so close! Keep going!
MJ just had such a really
good effort at this.
I don't know if I would have
done any better, to be honest.
We're definitely not
swimmers, us AFLW girls.
We much prefer being
on land and running.
No splashing!
I think I was
the loudest swimmer.
The thing literally said,
"Be calm and quiet
"so the crocs don't hear you."
Then I was like, "I
need to do backstroke."
And then I'm like, "Now I can't
see if a croc's comin' at me."
I thought I was gonna die.
Road Block.
She decides that I'm a sharpshooter,
so I have to go into
croc-infested waters
and swim out to a pontoon and back
with a knife in my mouth,
and I thought I was going to die.
That's it! You're nearly there!
Give me something on
land and I'll be fine.
Well done. Great job.
"The lake has been surveyed
for crocodile activity.
"There are freshwater
crocodiles present."
Oh, my God! I hate crocodiles.
This is way worse than
holding the crocodile
in a controlled environment.
Finding out Holly was about
to swim with crocodiles,
I was more happy that I
wasn't doing it, realistically.
I'm so scared.
I've touched a crocodile today.
So, hopefully the crocodiles rub
some sort of, like, swimming skills,
or, like, a blessing on me.
Come on, let's hurry.
We are right on the heels
of MJ and Chelsea.
They're a good team! They're killing it.
- They are serious game, I can tell.
- They're on it.
Concentrate, MJ. Concentrate.
Here we go. Visualise.
It's hitting.
Ooh, bad luck.
That's alright. I'll do shuttles.
My coach will be happy.
The girls have tried it a few
times, baby, so you can do it.
Super hot day in Darwin,
so I was pretty happy
to get in the water.
And it looks sexy.
Oh! Going to be in my dreams
for the next year.
I literally have this, like,
mental picture that I took,
so I'll have that forever.
That was sexy. You are
hot. I love you so much.
This is the one.
Outstanding, mate. Good work.
Mate, appreciate it. Legend. Thanks.
OK.
"Make your way to Hidden Valley Raceway
"and find the drift cars."
OK. Here we go. Let's go.
- Taking this exit.
- Gate two. Yes.
Hidden Valley Road, for sure.
Katherine Katherine and Dwes
are in front of us. The red car.
I think Anurag and Jas
are behind us.
- Oh, yeah.
- That's OK.
Go, go, go. Right next to them.
Come on, let's go. Let's get our bags.
You know what? This is our opportunity
to snatch the first position off them.
Let's go, Jas. Quick,
quick, quick, quick.
It was a bit disappointing
not getting to the line first
to go first in the race cars.
Oh, look at this. I always
wanted one of these.
But then, if we get it
done in the one go,
we could still possibly win this.
And to win it in Darwin,
that'd be great.
Come on, we need to get this done, OK?
Which one do you want?
You want the ute?
- I'll take this one.
- I'm gonna beat you down there.
- Let's go, Jas.
- We got this!
Good luck, Katherine!
For this challenge, we had to
have a fishbowl in our hands
and make sure the water
doesn't all spill out.
So, you've got to work against
the momentum of the car.
Car's going this way,
you hold it this way.
Physics 101.
He's an engineer, I love
physics, so we got this.
What I found difficult was that
each turn, water would slip out.
It's pretty hard, because I was
getting slung here and there.
The car's drifting around
these corners like no tomorrow.
Part of me is going, "Control the bowl.
"Do not let the water spill,"
and the other half is
my boy inside going,
"Ooh, look out the window,
look out the window!
"We're drifting!"
That's it!
That was full-on.
That was full-on.
Thanks, mate. It was awesome.
I'm afraid
I can see the water below the line.
That's a fail.
You'll have to run again.
Uh-oh. We're stuck.
'Cause if Dwes and Katherine
get it the first go,
they make take our front lead.
- We both gotta go?
- Need to do it again.
OK.
They failed. They
dropped too much water.
Alright, that's fine. Let's go.
Yes! Good job, baby!
- Here you are, mate. You earned that.
- Thank you very much.
Thank you very much!
Oh-ho! That was a big high-five!
OK. "Make your way to Hidden Valley
Raceway and find the drift cars.
"Wear your seatbelt."
- Whoo!
- Come on, Bren, let's go!
Let's go, babe.
You're right, bro.
Get out there, bro.
You got this, Holly. You're
a faster swimmer than him.
Righto. Come on, bro.
The crocs are only,
like, 10 metres away.
You got this, Holly. The
crocs hate the fake tan.
I don't think
anyone wants to swim
knowing that there could be crocodiles.
So glad I'm not doing
this challenge. Oh, God.
But it's my Road Block, so
I really have to step up.
Come on, Bren, let's go!
I was like, I just want
to get in and out.
I want to beat the Cowboys
while I've got the chance.
Doing well, baby. Keep going, Holly!
You can beat Brendon now.
Alright, now, do I want to go towards
the city or Casuarina?
I'm not I don't think we
want to go towards the city,
but I I don't know
exactly where we are.
OK, well, I'm going towards the city.
On our way to the Road Block, we did
happen to get a little bit lost.
So, if you see signs and stuff,
Skye, just give me a heads-up.
I just wanna make sure
we're going the right way.
How did you guys get behind us?
Magic.
Obviously, we're still in the game.
We can claw our way back.
They must have taken a wrong turn.
Damn.
Oh. Holly and Dolor. Holly's
done it, Jess. Let's go, let's go.
Oh
Alright, go retrieve 'em.
Come on, Holly.
Remember how we play darts.
Technique over power. Come on.
Alright, Bren. Come on, bro.
You can smash it.
- Hey! That's in!
- Whoo! Yes!
It's alright, babe.
- Here you go, tiger.
- Cheers, mate.
- You earned that.
- Appreciate it.
- Good on you.
- Let's go!
Babe, why'd you pick that one to do?
"Make your way to the Hidden Valley
Raceway and find the drift cars."
Yeah, alright.
You doing alright?
I'm done. I actually don't wanna go in.
It looks deep.
OK.
I'm so scared of crocodiles.
But my pride always picks
me up, and be like,
"Nah, just get in there
and get it done."
Remember, don't splash. Don't panic.
Stay calm.
I mean, she's always been like that.
Once she commits to it,
she knows she's gonna do it.
But I'm actually
kind of worried for her.
She'll do fine if she doesn't panic.
I could feel down my
feet, I was just like,
"Oh, my gosh, I felt something
just brushing through my legs."
And I was freaking out.
Oh
There's a two-metre crocodile
in the water with her.
I'm terrified for her.
Oh
Thanks goodness Jess doesn't know
that there's a two-metre crocodile
in the water with her.
Oh, my God.
Don't stress, Jess.
Stay calm.
Take your time.
Thank goodness Holly's trash at aiming,
so you got time.
Alright. You got this,
Skye. Get out there.
Quick, quick. Skye's in
front of you. Go, go, go.
Jessie! Jessie, we ain't last!
- Let's go, Skye. Get in there.
- Go, Ashie!
Go! Catch up to Jess!
You can take the spot!
They're, like,
splashing everywhere,
and I'm just like, "Do NOT splash."
- You got this. Keep going, Skye.
- Go, Ashie. You got this, girlfriend!
That's it, Jess. Leg up, leg up.
Ahh!
Jess was really struggling
to get onto the pontoon.
Keep going, keep going, Jess.
Just don't let go.
That's it, that's it.
Come on, babe!
- Pull, pull, pull! Get up there!
- Get up there, Skye! You got this!
Push, push, push!
Use those legs!
- Let's go, Skye! Get in there!
- Go, Ashie!
I don't know how long
Jess had been there for,
but she looked real tired.
There is no way that I would be able
to physically just leave her there.
Thank you.
So, Skye's just helped Jess,
and grabbed her knife
for her out of the box.
Thank you, Skye.
Lucky that Skye-Blue was nice enough,
because some other witch -
Ashleigh - was just flaunting it.
Go, Ashie! Yes,
babe! Keep that lead.
All we gotta do is not come last.
Good job, Skye! You can catch Ash.
Neither of us like
seeing people struggle,
and if you can help someone out
and it's not gonna affect you that
much in this race, you may as well.
Good job, Skye.
At the end of the day, you
you want to be a good person.
- Keep it up, keep it up.
- Oh, no. Please help us.
Babe, we're beating the girls.
Let's try and get this.
- Huh?
- The girls just came.
Oh, yeah!
Wait, wait. Now you're
good, now you're good.
- Thank you! - Whoo-hoo!
- Here you go, mate.
- Thank you, thank you.
- That's all yours. Well done.
- Thank you. Alright.
- Let's go.
- Let's go, let's go.
- Good work.
"Make your way to Hidden Valley
Raceway and find the drift cars."
- OK, let's go.
- Let's go.
Go, Ashie. Come on, honey.
Skye and Jake are pretty
much neck and neck with us,
and we definitely
overtook Sefa and Jess,
so I'm feeling good that
we'd made up another place.
Keep it up, babe. You can
do this. You can do this.
- Whoo! That's in!
- Let's go, let's go!
No dilly-dallying. Whoo!
- You nailed it, girl.
- Thanks.
- Like a boss.
- I knifed it.
"Make your way to Hidden Valley
Raceway and find the drift cars."
- Let's go.
- Yeah.
- Come on, come on, come on, come on.
- I know, I know.
The girls are still here. They're
just finished. That's good.
Let's go.
This Road Block is make or break for
us because we have to catch up.
Come on, Jordan, keep pushing!
Come on, you can do it.
OK, alright, let's go. Come on.
Come on, let's hurry.
Come on, bro. Hustle!
Oh, my gosh. That sounds
- Listen to it!
- Sounds so good.
Whoo-hoo!
All that's between us and the first
position is Dwes and Katherine.
We're not here to come
second. We want to win it.
We've got this.
We've been eliminated, come back in
and now if we can just come first,
- we'd be happy with that.
- Yeah.
To still be here and at the top.
Best thing, here in Darwin!
Yes!
I've got this. I hope Jas does too.
- Well done, boys.
- Thank you.
- Whoo! We got to do it twice!
- I know.
- Thank you!
- Thanks, mate. Let's go, let's go.
- Well done.
- - Thank you!
- Thanks.
- Thanks.
Alright.
Pitstop. "Make your way to
the pitstop above the pitstop.
"Hurry - the last team
may be eliminated."
- Let's go, let's go!
- Run!
Every racetrack has a pitstop,
and that's exactly why ours is located
directly above the race circuit
here at Hidden Valley.
And what better place for a pitstop
for the seventh leg
of The Amazing Race Australia?
- Oh, my God!
- Hold on.
"Make your way to the
pitstop above the pitstop.
"Hurry. The last team to
arrive may be eliminated."
- Come on, let's go.
- Up there.
Yeah. Come on.
There. There, there, there! I see it.
Go. Great job.
- Come on.
- Is that it?
- Go, go, go!
- Are we gonna come in first again?
Well, well, well.
If it ain't the Super Sikhs.
- Whoo!
- Whoo!
On the mat, baby. Three, two, one!
Great to see you in the NT.
Welcome to Darwin, guys.
- Thanks, mate.
- Thanks, bro.
Jaskirat and Anurag,
you are first team to check in.
- Whoo!
- Yeah!
And you have won a 5-night
harbourside escape in Darwin
with a Top End safari camp
overnight tour,
with thanks to
Tourism Northern Territory.
Whoo!
- Well done, bro.
- Well done, boys. Go rest.
- You'll need it.
- Thanks, mate.
Come on. We got this.
Here!
Dwes and Katherine,
you are the second team to check in.
Whoo!
Well done!
I don't even know how to really process
that I've never come second before
in anything in my life.
So, like, for me, it's, "Oh, my God,
it's so much of an achievement!"
You guys are getting better and
better. Now go and have a rest, guys.
Well done. Good job. See youse after.
You're not allowed to have favourites.
Have you got a favourite kid?
- No.
- Yeah, same.
My daughter.
Come on, Jordan. Keep it up.
Keep going.
We need to make up for
getting lost this morning.
We're definitely in last place,
so we need to make up
time with this Road Block.
Well done. Let's go.
- Jordy.
- You want to throw into it, not
Jordan and Violeta.
- Come on, Jordan.
- Alright. Ready to throw.
Ohh!
Yes!
- Well done!
- I had it in the target.
So in that moment, we overtook two
other teams that were still there,
and we think we're the last teams.
- And it was such a relief.
- Fantastic.
- Thank you, thank you.
- Go on, get out of here!
We're going, we're going.
"Make your way to Hidden Valley
Raceway and find the drift cars."
- Let's go.
- Come on.
Alright, free to throw.
Come on, Skye. Go get 'em!
We've sort of created a little
friendship with Sefa and Jess.
But obviously, we don't want to
be last rolling into the pitstop.
Keep going, Skye.
More strength, Jess. Don't hold back.
When 250 K's on the line,
it's a different ballgame.
Argh!
- Yeah, we're beating the girls.
- Let's go.
Go, go, go.
Yeah, I got your bum bag.
- Look at this, through here.
- This is so cool.
This challenge was to do
some race-car drifting.
And I had the best time ever!
It was amazing. Like, I was loving life.
Whoo!
Like, the stuff that we have to do
as part of this race is phenomenal
and I love it.
I get a bit car-sick, so
..I was a bit worried about that.
Whoo-hoo-hoo! Ha-ha! Yeah, boy!
Yeah, that's probably the best fun
I've had with my clothes on
for a long time.
That was unreal.
Wow! That was crazy!
Frickin', frickin' crazy, man.
How'd we go, fishy? We still there?
You smashed me. You did well.
Whoo!
Thank you.
Thank you! Thank you!
- Thank you so much!
- Thanks.
- Well done.
- Yeah, buddy!
- Cheers, mate.
- Thanks, mate.
Thanks for that.
- "Make your way to the pitstop"
- "..above the pitstop.
"Hurry. The last team to
arrive may be eliminated."
OK. Let's go!
- There's stairs for us.
- OK.
There he is. Let's go!
Whoo!
It's great to see you in the
NT. Welcome to Darwin.
- Thank you.
- Thanks so much.
MJ and Chelsea, you are
- ..third team to check in.
- Yes!
Whoo!
Bronze medal for first
day, I'll take it.
That was a pretty good
effort, I think, by us.
Yay!
Chris and Aleisha,
you are the fourth team to check in.
Oh, wow! What?!
Good job.
I thought we were, like, seventh!
Oh, there is a few cars here
already. Jeez.
Oh, there might be a pitstop.
- I reckon there is, yeah.
- Pitstop after this.
- Yeah.
- Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go.
Yo!
G'day.
Brandon and Jackson, you are
..fifth team to check in.
Whoo!
- Good one, bro.
- Well done.
- One better than yesterday.
- That's exactly right.
Come on, Jess. Come on.
Ooh, almost.
Alright, Skye, you got this.
Ohhh!
Close, Skye.
We've grown close
to Skye-Blue and Jake.
But I just don't want to be last.
Oh!
Jess is so close.
Ready to throw!
Oh, God.
Oh! Go, go get it!
Aaaagh!
Yes!
Skye, you got it!
It was a long
haul to get it in there
but finally did
- Hey, outstanding. Good work.
- Come on, bring it in.
I think that's worth
one, mate. Good on ya.
I reckon.
But then, it was extremely bittersweet,
knowing Jess was
still struggling with it.
"Find the drift cars."
Let's go.
But, at the end of the day,
we're not coming in last.
Oh! So close. - Aaagh!
Don't worry. Go grab it.
I could feel a
lot of emotion coming.
Like, I try so hard to hold my tears in.
You got it.
This ain't even about the race anymore.
This is just about you doin' it.
- Ooh!
- Hang on, hang on!
Hold the phone, there, mate.
Look at that. Hand goes under it.
Yours.
Thank you.
You deserve that, mate. Bring it in.
Champion effort.
Well done.
"Make your way to Hidden Valley
Raceway and find the drift cars."
Let's go. It's not over.
Good luck, babe.
Let's do it first go, first go.
Holly and Dolor
were in front of us.
- Good luck.
- Good luck.
And then Jordan and Violeta
were in the drift cars behind us.
Hey.
But I feel pretty confident because
I have been in drift cars before,
'cause my partner does stunt driving,
so I think we will be able to beat them.
- Just get one lap of basic.
- One lap of basic.
I'm feeling confident
we can do this first go
because, you know, Dolor played,
you know, sports
at a semi-professional level.
You know, he's so controlled
with his body.
Aaagh!
It's just trying to, like,
move with the car.
Yeah.
I think we were probably the best team.
Whoo!
I don't think I
spilled any water at all.
It was dry as a baby in my lap.
Ah, come on!
How's anyone meant to
complete this challenge?
- That's good. Congratulations.
- Whoo!
- Thank you! - Thank you so much!
- No worries.
"Make your way to pitstop above pitstop.
"Hurry. The last team
may be eliminated."
OK, let's go.
Alright, I can see the
water below the line.
That's a fail.
It was hard, getting there,
knowing we were still
at the back of the pack.
But if you're not last,
you're still in it to win it
and we'll just keep going.
Ashleigh and Amanda, you are
- ..sixth team to check in.
- Nice!
We made it.
So, Sefa and Jess have
just gotten here as well.
There's four teams left.
It's the battle for seventh position.
Battle not to get eliminated.
Now we've gone from potentially fifth
to the back of the pack,
I was not happy.
So important for us
to get this in one go.
I reckon this is when we use
like, really use our thunder thighs.
- Hold it in place.
- Hold it in place.
Alrighty, captain.
Let's get this first go.
We gotta beat 'em, mate. We
gotta beat all the guys here.
We got it, Jess. Come on, Jess!
One go!
Whoaaa!
Whoooo!
Oh, no!
We're at the back of the pack
and elimination's on the table.
But there are teams
that were ahead of us
that have had some
unsuccessful attempts.
So, if we could wing it
and get it on the first go,
we will not be eliminated.
Ohhh! Oh, no!
You tricked me!
Oh!
Knowing that we had some
opportunity to make up some ground
is a huge relief for me.
- I got this.
- Good.
Ohh
If we don't get it now, we
are going to be going home.
Potentially, yeah.
All I can do is concentrate,
make sure the water doesn't
spill out of the bowl
and let's just get to
that pitstop in seventh.
Aaah No.
- How'd you go?
- Nup.
Nuh. Not even close.
Aaaagh!
Oh, that's a fail.
Come on, come on, come on.
That's a fail.
We got so close. It was almost
..exhaustingly frustrating.
- That's a pass!
- Yes!
Great work.
Thank you! Thank you!
Nice work, guys.
And here is your clue.
- Thank you!
- Thank you. Thank you.
- Congratulations.
- Whoo!
- You've done it.
- Thank you.
"Make your way to the
pitstop above the pitstop."
"Hurry. The last team to arrive
may be eliminated." Let's go.
Over there.
It's great to see you in
the NT. Welcome to Darwin.
- Thanks, mate.
- Thank you.
Skye-Blue and Jake, you are
..seventh team to check in.
- Oh!
- Good job, sis.
Every leg, I just get more
and more proud of her.
Stop it!
We came in seventh today.
But we're not going home
and, at the end of the day,
that's all that matters.
Holly, Dolor, you are
..eighth team to check in.
- Yes!
- Oh, thank God.
Thank you.
We even did better than
what we did last leg,
so it was a step up.
We're so close
to being eliminated, man.
I don't want to be eliminated. Far out.
There's a lot at stake
here, so, please
So, the last two teams
were us and Sefa and Jess.
Here we go!
We really love Sefa and Jess
but we still want to be in this race
and we're not ready to go home yet.
Here you go. You got this.
Oh! My Nemos!
OK, this is game on.
We're going to fight for it.
Come on!
Stay in there.
Ohhhh!
Whoa!
We want to push
each other. This is huge for us.
Jordan and I have done so much together
and we've accomplished so much
together and overcome a lot.
And, so, we're not ready
to leave this race.
I think that
we're very determined.
Like, we push ourselves.
Like, we've stepped up to every
challenge, no matter what.
Whoo! Whoa!
Oh! Oh, no!
Oh, come on.
Oh, man.
- It's a pass.
- Thank you so much.
Ohh.
No-o-o!
Far out.
Well done.
And there's your next clue.
Thanks very much.
Appreciate it. Alright, let's go.
"Make your way to pitstop
above the pitstop."
- Let's go.
- Let's go.
It was a huge relief.
We want to be in this race and
we have a lot more to give.
Jordon, Violeta, you are
..ninth team to check in.
Oh, my God.
It's a mix of emotions.
We knew that we had just been saved
and knew that our friends in this
race are likely to get eliminated.
I'm afraid the time limit
for this challenge has expired,
so you will automatically move on
to the pitstop.
This was not good.
There's your last clue.
- Thank you.
- Thank you very much.
- Thank you so much.
- Damn it.
We are prepared for the worst.
Up here. Come on, Jess.
Let's finish this.
But if we do go home,
we gave it our best shot.
Yeah.
Sefa and Jess
..you're the last team to arrive.
- The final team to check in.
- Yep.
Your time on the Race is over.
Whew!
We had a good run.
And, like, you know, today,
I got to hold a crocodile.
I never thought I would
be able to do that.
And today, I was able to
conquer one of my fears.
Hell, yeah.
And many other legs that we've done,
so much of my fears, I
was able to overcome.
This race has really
opened more windows for me
and an opportunity to, like, explore
and to to keep pushing myself.
Yeah, it's a bit
disappointing to go home
but, um, nothing I would
have done differently.
- Thank you.
- Come on, man.
We're going home in this
leg and I have no regrets.
Yeah.
Next time on
The Amazing Race Australia
..in the Northern Territory
I can see them all there.
..crocs aren't the only danger
beneath the surface.
Oh! He got me in the guts!
Toughen up, Princess!
And in the most dangerous
challenge yet
Underwater, blindfolded.
I was super, super scared.
- ..one team
- Come on, come on, come on, come on.
Looks like he might need a bit of help.
I thought, "Something's not right."
..implodes.
I thought I was gonna die.
The Amazing Race Australia
This is The Amazing Race!
It's amazing
..teams went island-hopping
through Queensland
That was so much fun!
And I didn't vomit!
Mate, I'm on a roll.
Oh!
..as they continued
their epic adventure
- Back up, now!
- So beautiful.
..around the country.
Oh, my God!
The whole world is within Australia.
Tonight
Welcome to Darwin, everyone.
..the Queensland holiday is over.
For our nine remaining teams,
the competition enters a new phase
Whoo!
..with a new gear
Aaagh!
You feel like you're gonna die.
..and a new twist.
What the?
100% curveball none of us expected.
After a week on the islands
of Far North Queensland,
teams are now on their way to Darwin
..the gateway to the Northern Territory,
including Litchfield National Park
and the Red Centre.
A part of Australia filled
with intrigue, adventure,
danger and surprises.
I'm here in Darwin Airport,
Northern Territory,
waiting for our teams to
land and continue racing.
And when they get here, I have
a very, very big surprise for them.
Surprise.
Welcome to the race, MJ and Chelsea.
- Thank you very much.
- How you feeling, girls?
We are stowaways.
And the race has actually
started already,
so we're coming in, we don't
know any of these other teams.
How do you think the other teams
will feel, right now, when they see you?
They might be a bit angry. Who knows?
I'm MJ. 31.
And I'm Chelsea. I'm 29.
And we both play for the Adelaide Crows
in the AFLW competition.
We are comin' for the other teams.
We're comin' for this race.
We're comin' to win. Watch out.
- Are you guys ready?
- Yeah, we're ready.
Let's meet the teams, huh?
- There's a new team here.
- Oh Good times.
Right, gather round, teams.
I've got a little surprise for you.
What the?
Like, we had no idea
that this going to be the surprise
at the start in the new leg.
No. Is that a new team?
As soon as
I saw Chelsea and MJ,
I automatically knew who they were.
They're AFLW players.
And Chelsea's actually
my favourite player.
So, I was a bit like, "Oh, my God."
Welcome to Darwin, everyone.
And welcome to the race, our stowaways,
MJ and Chelsea.
They'll be joining the
race from right now.
How's everyone feeling?
You like the stowaways?
- They look fit.
- Oh, my goodness.
Those legs and the squash heads.
They looked tough and we
knew they were physically
tough, they're gonna be mentally tough,
and we knew that we had another
top contender that was in the game.
Now, the girls want to win a quarter
of a million dollars, as you all do.
And with them both being
professional AFLW players,
let me tell you, these girls know
a thing or two about winning.
So, teams, are you ready to race?
Yes!
Are you guys ready to race?
Yeah, we are. - Let's do it.
Your first clue is on the
vehicles over there, behind you.
MJ and Chelsea, because you'll need
to earn your place in the race,
the other teams will get
a five-minute head start.
Race safe, race hard.
Three, two, one Go!
"Route Info."
"Make your way
to Crocodylus Park.
"Help the park rangers relocate
and measure a saltwater crocodile."
This is the most deadly challenge
so far, let me tell you.
Now, the NT has 100,000 saltwater crocs,
the apex predator of Australia.
The largest one ever
caught was 8.5 metres.
Now, teams must come
here, to Crocodylus Park,
and relocate a saltwater crocodile.
They must carry it 450 metres,
measure it so park rangers
can track its growth,
then release it in this lagoon.
Once they've done that, the ranger
will give them their next clue.
And that little bad boy over there,
he's gonna have some
friends to play with.
Now, let's get out. I've got a
chicken sandwich in my pocket.
- Let's go. - Let's go.
- Come on, let's go, let's go.
- Those girls look strong.
- They do look strong.
The new stowaways 100% is a curveball
that none of us expected.
Especially 'cause the other
all-girl teams have been eliminated.
We're ready to show the
girls that we can beat them
and we've got our eyes on them.
Those girls, they look fit.
They look like they
really want to win it.
- They look pretty jacked.
- They look fit as hell.
When I saw them, I was scared.
Well, MJ and Chelsea,
your five minutes are up.
- You guys ready to race?
- Yeah, we are. - Let's do it.
Three, two, one
Go!
Let's go, Chels. Go, Chels. Here we go.
Just rip. Come on!
Here we go. Give me that.
OK, "Make your way to Crocodylus Park."
Let's go. You drive. Let's go.
Those teams hated us.
Ha!
We've just gotta run our
race and do what we can.
Oh, yeah! Whoo!
How good is it that our first
couple of years of AFLW,
half our team lived and trained up here.
We're professional athletes,
so I think our strategy
is to just focus in on us.
Well done.
- And
- Climb our way to the top.
We do like to win.
Ha-ha!
We're here!
We arrived in first position. It was
actually a really nice feeling.
Alright, come on.
Follow the arrows.
Oh, here. Arrow.
Darwin is, like, our second home.
It's our closest city to the Kimberley.
Yeah, we love
it 'cause we know it.
Come on. Come on, let's
go. Let's get this croc.
Come on. Side entrance.
As soon as we got in the car
park, we saw Dwes and Katherine there.
We knew that this is their territory.
We knew they'd been
brought up in Darwin,
so they knew this area really well.
And us being neck and neck with them
But you know what? Let them be
in front. Let them be in front.
When the right opportunity
comes, we'll over take.
Hello, guys. Welcome to Crocodylus Park.
My name's John. We also have Rhiannon.
- Hey, guys.
- Hi.
You're gonna come up near the head.
Just wait. We'll demonstrate first.
Be very mindful of your hands.
Be careful of the teeth.
- Yep.
- The teeth are still hanging out.
You don't want to scratch your hand.
If the crocodile begins
to thrash too much,
both squat down.
Give it a nice hug.
I've never ever gotten
close to a crocodile.
Never touched one before.
It was intimidating.
It was just overwhelming.
Perfect. Firm grip.
Right under the jaw
with your fingers, if you can.
Yeah.
You can touch him. Nice and firm.
And then lift up to your knees.
Yep, that's it. Grab that other leg.
- Got a nice grip on it?
- Both back legs. Both back legs.
Both back legs.
That's it. Shannon will assist you.
Great. Let's go.
OK.
If it wriggles and you lose your grip,
just stay still till it stops.
Having a live animal that
could actually thrash around
was quite intimidating for me.
Right, be careful when
you're going up the steps
- to match each other's pace.
- Yep.
Left, right, left.
I've felt croc skin,
I've felt croc leather.
But to be carrying a live
croc in our own hands,
my heart sunk
Keep nice and calm.
So, "You will be
assigned a crocodile.
"This decision is based
on proportional weight."
We're gonna get a big one.
The one thing that I
hate in all the universe
and that is crocodiles.
Just the way that they move,
it just freaks me out.
Like, a real big one!
Yeah, as long as
you can carry it, we're good.
OK, let's go.
Oh, there's the sign.
Close the door.
Crocodiles that way.
- Where did the girls go?
- There.
Welcome to Crocodylus Park.
We'll give you a demonstration
on how to correctly handle
the crocodile now.
Ooh! Ooh!
You're gonna stand up together.
And you'll walk up the hill with Liam.
- Knees.
- Yep. On your knees. Same spot.
Put your hand around and under.
- Your left hand.
- Hold it.
I've got what I'm supposed to be doing.
Let go with your left hand.
I'm trying to
Yep. That's it.
Yep. Bend the neck a bit more.
- That's it.
- Alright, stand up.
- Are you both comfortable?
- Yeah, it's in the clue.
- One person holds the head at all time.
- Yep.
Another person gets the tape measure.
I was just really scared that
I was gonna make it angry.
Hold it. It's dangerous.
- 181.
- Yep.
Put her onto the ground.
- That's
- Bring her this way.
Afraid I might cut this.
I saw how upset he'd be.
So scared I'm gonna make it angry.
And back behind that tree there, guys.
Thank you very much.
Yes!
Thanks, boys.
Detour.
A Detour is a choice
between two challenges,
each with its own pros and cons.
And in this Detour, teams must
choose between Treat It or Eat It.
Teams that choose Treat It will join
the Royal Flying Doctor Service,
an Aussie institution that
began way back in 1928.
In this hangar, they'll discover
patients awaiting treatment.
They'll need great attention to
detail to identify three wounds -
a burn, a head trauma and a snake bite.
They'll then administer the
correct first aid treatment
as precisely instructed
in their medical manuals.
Once the patients have
been accurately treated,
they will receive their next clue.
Now, teams that choose Eat It,
they'll need to come down here
to the Laksa House and meet
the Laksa Queen herself, Amye.
Hi!
Laksa is considered to be
the signature dish of Darwin,
so they'll have to have
their tastebuds turned on
to follow her
world-famous recipe to a T.
And once Amye tastes it, and gives
it the nod of approval, then
..they'll receive their next clue.
Damn, that's good, Amye.
- Let's go and do this laksa.
- Yep.
Let's go.
I'm feeling pretty good.
We're in the lead at the moment,
but the Super Sikhs
were right behind us,
so we just have to get to this
next challenge and keep this lead.
And he's free.
Thank you!
Detour, baby.
- Laksa. Let's go laksa. Let's go laksa.
- Let's go Eat It.
Crocodylus.
What the freak, man? I've seen the sign.
We don't know anything about Darwin
or where we're going or what general
direction is which way is which.
Left onto
I'm looking for somewhere to
stop so we can ask somebody.
We don't know where to go.
There wasn't really
anybody else to follow
and so we had to figure
things out on our own again.
Let's go!
Don't touch him! Ahhh!
- Dolor's reaction was just
- Oh, mate.
..like he touched a spider.
Ahh! Oh, sorry.
- 187cm.
- Good stuff, guys.
Just make sure you've got a grip.
Good grip.
Hold him. You're right.
That's it. You're right. Good work.
Now, try and flick that
tail back up, if you can.
Yep, that's the way.
- Flick the tail back.
- You've got hold of him, mate?
I've got him.
Turned into Steve Irwin
there for two seconds.
Really give it a wrangle.
- His teeth.
- Watch your fingers.
Watch your fingers.
Ow.
- Want me to try?
- Cut myself.
I need a Band-Aid.
I had to jump in and do
the top of the mouth.
I need a Band-Aid.
- Thank you! Thank you.
- I appreciate it. Thank you.
- You did well.
- OK, let's go.
- Treat It for sure.
- Treat It, OK.
- OK, let's go.
- Let's go.
- That's 192.5.
- Yep.
Bye-bye, Felicia. Bye, Felicia.
- Legend. Thanks, mate. See youse later.
- Hooroo.
- I think we'll go Treat It, eh?
- Treat It.
Good idea.
Bob. And up.
Just unwrap it.
And then jump back behind
that big tall tree there.
Make sure that tape is cut.
See you later, whatever your name was.
Thank you!
Royal Flying Doctors hangar.
I reckon this would be
so much fun to do.
- Yeah.
- Let's do Treat It.
Treat It, let's go.
"Make your way to the famous Laksa
House, home of Darwin's Laksa Queen.
"Create a perfect bowl of Devil's Laksa
"and then receive your next clue."
What you want to do?
Eat It? OK, let's go.
Hello, Auntie! How are you?
Where do we go?
- Under the tree. More cooler.
- OK.
Quick! Tasting.
- What's the name of the place?
- Laksa House.
- Here, here, here, here.
- Perfect.
When we got there, we saw
Dwes and Katherine there.
So, we knew we were
still in that top pack.
Cutting the lemongrass and
chilli, smash them here.
Cooking a really good laksa,
the flavours need to be perfect,
they need to all balance.
You've got to juggle the
spicy with the sweet
and you've just got to have
the right amount of coconut milk.
I know just how important it is
to allow all of the flavours to develop.
You can't rush a good laksa.
- How much chilli?
- Up to you.
- You don't want it hot?
- We'll just do one, hey?
I won't tell you too much.
You have to do your best.
She sort of gave us our instructions
and then, like, "Nope, no more.
"It's up to you to do now."
- More lemongrass?
- Up to you.
Oh, my God. Her personality,
one-of-a-kind, I must say.
Auntie, I think we've
got a good one here.
- Are you a chef or what?
- OK.
Put it in?
Nek minnit, buh-bow.
Side entrance? Side entrance?
Let's go this way, this way.
Crocodylus Park.
We're here. We made it.
Duck duck goose.
- Treat It? Let's go.
- Let's do Treat It.
- Eat It. Sweet.
- Let's go.
Here we are, Jess.
Everyone's here. Bloody hell.
I'm the best navigator, right?
There we are. Down this way.
Snakes I am OK with.
But crocodiles
Oh, my gosh. Not today.
- One, two, three.
- Lift up. Yep.
Oh, my God.
I wasn't too phased.
It's just like a footy game.
Just got to pace yourself throughout the
whole entire day and go from there.
- Like a footy but with legs, right?
- Yeah.
I'm gonna carry it as if
I'm carrying a baby.
A giant baby.
- Hurry up, Jess. Come on.
- I know!
- Yep.
- So
- Put the back. Bend it.
- Oh, my God!
No!
You're doing well. OK.
You alright?
OK.
Under. Bend that head.
Turn the head and bend the tail.
You good.
- You're right, Jess?
- Have you got a good grip?
- Got a good grip, Jess?
- Awesome. Stand up together.
I had to hold the legs
as well as the tail
and it was just slipping off.
We were the last one in to
make our way to the challenge
- so we can't waste not even a second.
- Yeah.
Walk faster.
Stop screaming.
- Have you got it?
- Yeah.
The challenge was to carry this
crocodile between the two of us
to a pond area
and release it.
- Oh, I've lost his foot a bit.
- We might just have to put him
- Just put him on your
- Stop, readjust.
- You ready?
- Oops.
Sorry, mate.
I'm holding its head, facing
its teeth to me. It felt really
- It felt heavy.
- It was, like, maybe 40 to 50 kilos.
- He's all good?
- Yeah.
- Hold it down. Hold it down.
- OK, now we need to measure.
- 183.
- 183.
While MJ was cutting the tape
off the crocodile's mouth,
I was just scanning, like, the entire
water park and backpedalling my exit.
I knew exactly where to go
if anything went wrong.
No rest. We're going. Let's go.
We got teams to catch up on.
- There you go.
- Yes!
- Thank you.
- Well done. Awesome.
- Sweet.
- No worries.
- Have a good one.
- Appreciate it.
I am loving it. I wanna do that
again and again and again. And win.
- Treat It?
- Let's do it. Go.
Oh, my God.
- You good?
- Yeah.
We were the last one in to
make our way to the challenge,
so we can't waste not even a second.
Let's go. Jump. Let's walk.
As daunting as it is, we just had to
- ..push through it.
- Keep going.
Let's go.
Ahh, ahh, ahh!
Sefa, walk faster.
And just put his head Make
sure the crocodile is straight.
Yeah.
One person grabs the tape measure.
Jess, you wanna grab the tape measure?
- Are you sure?
- Yeah.
- You hold the head, bro.
- Yeah.
Throughout the race, I've got to
experience a lot of my fears,
like swimming - I can't swim.
Reptiles - just handling.
One of the biggest one.
- 193.5.
- Yeah, correct.
Felt like the last couple of
legs has been, like, full
- Really testing you.
- ..jam-packed of those.
- Is it alive?
- Yeah.
It's alive.
- There we have it.
- Thank you very much.
- Thank you. - Appreciate it.
- Good luck.
- What do you wanna do?
- Treat It.
- Treat It?
- Yeah.
Flying Doctor.
We're doing Flying Doctor. Let's go.
Auntie, I think we've
got a good one here.
This needs a coconut thing.
This challenge was to make a laksa.
The hardest part about this challenge
will be making the Laksa Queen happy.
Little bit. Put one more.
We need to follow this recipe to a T.
I feel like I could take
the Sikhs on this one,
because I'm in my element
here now, cooking.
Darwin is famous for laksa
because of the immigrants,
and the people that came up from Asia
really influenced the
food culture in Darwin.
- OK.
- First laksa. Hopefully it goes well.
Looks good.
Coming.
- I'm very confident cooking laksa.
- OK.
However, Amye knows how to
make laksa. She's famous for that.
So, it was kind of a
little bit intimidating.
It's nice, but, uh not good enough.
Oh, OK. Let's bring that back.
- We'll cook it again.
- Yeah. Too much salt.
Come on, let's go, Kath.
I was pretty disappointed.
- Do we start again, or?
- Yeah, yeah. We just add to it.
We need more sugar.
- Hello.
- Hello.
- How does it look?
- Beautiful laksa.
OK.
Not good enough.
- Coconut cream is
- More coconut cream?
Yeah. This too runny water.
OK. No worries. Easy.
- Thank you very much.
- Thank you.
Let's go.
- Hi.
- Hello!
- Hello.
- Welcome to the Royal Flying Doctors.
We were the first team at the Detour.
So, for Treat It, "Select a patient,
assess carefully for injuries
"..diagnose and correctly
treat all three wounds.
"When ready to be judged, travel
your patient on their stretcher
"To the Flying Doctor for assessment."
This is gonna be hard.
Neither of us are first-aid trained.
There's all these different bandages
and splints.
We have no idea which ones to use.
- Is it this bandage?
- Cool.
Or is it THIS bandage?
Just one wrong bandage and we'll be
failed. It seems pretty technical.
- Head.
- Belly.
- Belly.
- And leg.
As we were there, assessing injuries,
the Cowboys turn up.
Here.
Holly and Dolor turn up as well.
We gotta look for all her injuries.
Left and then back it in over here,
- next to this car.
- Yeah.
- Let's go.
- Yep.
- And then
- Two frickin' stowaways.
- What is going on?
- No way.
- They look tough too.
- They look tough. They look cute.
They look nice.
Damn it.
- Nurse MJ!
- I don't know about that.
It makes us feel
a little bit nervous.
That's when your heart starts
to beat, 'cause you're like,
"Oh, my gosh, we really
have to get this right."
We got this, we got this.
Royal Flying Doctors hangar.
So, I'm going to assume that
we're on the right path here.
We left the Crocodylus Park quite
close to the front of the pack.
Unfortunately, we got a
little bit lost along the way.
- Are we still on Bagot Road?
- Yeah.
I had a slight intuition
that we had the wrong address.
I can't see.
In my mind, it didn't make any sense
that we were going
away from the airport.
But I internalised that and I didn't
say anything, which wasn't much use.
It was too salty.
Just a little adjustment, just
adding the sugar and coconut milk
and we should be fine.
The thing I love about cooking,
like, there's this fusion
that you can create
and, like, my flavours,
I feel like I was on point.
I think we got this one, Katherine.
Here you go. Hopefully this one perfect.
Alright.
Thank you!
- Yes!
- Thank you.
- We were like, we won MasterChef.
- Thank you!
He might do that next.
Road Block.
"Who's the sharpest?"
You do it?
- Yeah, cool, I'll do it.
- Yep?
A Road Block is a challenge that
only one team member can choose to do
based on a cryptic clue.
Remember the Aussie classic
Crocodile Dundee
when Mick Dundee's sitting down there
by the billabong with his girl, Sue,
and - bang! - a crocodile comes out
and grabs her water bottle
and tries to drag her in?
Well, this is that exact billabong.
In this challenge, teams must come here
and one chosen member must swim out
to that pontoon and grab a knife.
This is a knife.
They then have to bring it to shore
and successfully hit a target.
Just like this.
Then they'll get the next clue.
OK, let's go.
So, Kath, I think we're still
first. In the lead at this stage.
I'd love for us to be
first all the time.
Just keep your cool. We'll
be right. We got this.
Gotta try and beat these guys,
'cause now they've caught up to us.
There are four other teams
there, which was a bit of a relief,
because we knew we had
ground to make up for.
Just needed to get
in there and get it done.
This is a chest burn, so we need water.
We're both actually first-aid trained.
The head's bleeding, so let's go.
We had to be like a paramedic
and give first aid to a mannequin.
I named her Jemima.
Poor Jemima had a head trauma,
a snakebite on her left foot,
she had a chest burn.
For a burn it's, like,
20 minutes of flowing water.
Yeah, so keep going.
Everything was there,
everything was on the instructions,
and we just needed to do it
exactly like those pictures.
Cut that.
- OK.
- Yeah.
- Gonna get checked? Alright.
- Yeah.
Cool.
- Hi.
- Hi.
I hope we get this.
Oh, please, please,
please, please, please.
Please
No?
We were hoping to have
that lead on other teams,
and now we're trying to
figure out what was wrong.
- What do you think's wrong?
- I don't know.
Come on, the other teams are
catching us. Let's go, let's go.
OK, let's give it a go.
Alright, here we go.
So, I've done a lot of
search and rescue,
like, remote first aid to a lot of
different mannequins and scenarios,
so we thought we'd be OK at this.
- Poor Jemima.
- The head.
It's alright, Jemima. We got you.
- We did all we could.
- The snakebite.
It's a chest burn.
Thank you. Thank you. Brilliant.
- Brilliant.
- And awesome.
- Alright, who's the sharpest?
- Me. I'm doing it.
Let's go, let's go.
- Here we go.
- Patient coming!
- Come on, Portia, you can make it!
- Patient coming.
You can make it!
- Head wound.
- Head wound here.
She's got a burn there.
And a snakebite down there.
- Yes!
- Thank you, thank you.
Can I give you a hug?
OK. Give me that one.
- It's a Road Block.
- Road Block.
- OK. I'll do this one.
- Thank God.
Tell me when to stop, yeah?
- We just added
- It was a little bit too thin.
- A bit too thin.
- Laksa should have been thicker,
but now look at this -
it's coming out nicely.
- We've added more coconut milk to it.
- Very confident now.
'Cause this looks more like
a laksa that we'd have.
OK, take it over, take it over.
Put the spoon in there.
- That's what we wanted.
- We got this. Come on.
- Much better, right?
- Yeah.
- OK.
- Yes!
- Thank you!
- Thank you!
- "Who's the sharpest?"
- You wanna go?
- I'll go. I'll go.
- Let's go, let's go.
Right there.
'Laska' House.
Ah, classic.
Here we are.
We have to head to see the Laksa Queen.
- Hey!
- Hi!
- Lovely to meet you!
- So nice to meet you, Laksa Queen.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I've eaten a lot of
laksa. Never made it.
I've never cooked laksa before.
My knife technique is not great.
Like, this is very difficult. I
don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Do you want me to cut it
and you try some?
We were on our own to try and work out
what all of the directions that we
were given on the recipe meant.
- Not too salty.
- OK.
Maybe a little bit more of this?
We tasted it. It tasted good.
- Yep, that's good.
- Alright. More shallots on top.
- Maybe a little more.
- OK.
- Not too many. Too many.
- Let's go, let's go.
Too many shallots. OK.
Hello!
We are so excited to show you
what we've made.
OK.
I hope you love it.
Yeah.
Holy moly.
Not good enough.
She's like, "Nup. You're out."
Go back to the kitchen.
Happy?
Garnish?
Right, let's go.
- Let's get it in there.
- Coming. Let us through.
We took the time to
really just cook it correctly,
so, hopefully, the Laksa Queen was
impressed with what we were doing.
- Very good?
- You get it.
- Yeah!
- Yes!
- Oh, my God.
- You get it.
- Thank you so much.
- Enjoy.
- Oh, Road Block.
- Road Block.
"Who's the sharpest?"
- I can do it.
- Alright, let's go. You can do it.
- Let's go.
- Let's go.
The Road Block instructed us
to re-enact some stuff that happened
in the Crocodile Dundee film.
So, I have to swim
out to this pontoon,
retrieve this huge knife and swim back.
I'm ready.
"Croc-infested."
- Does it say that?
- Yeah.
Growing up, we had crocodiles
around us all the time,
so we're quite familiar with crocodiles.
But I wouldn't go swimming
with them.
Fast as you can, bro.
Oi, don't think about the crocs.
Just fast as you can.
"The lake has been surveyed
for crocodile activity.
"There are freshwater
crocodiles present."
Oh, why did I say yes?!
Oh, my God.
Keep going, bro.
You're almost there.
Almost made it.
Find that knife now!
"Exercise extreme caution.
"Move slowly, move calmly.
"Do not splash the water."
That is literally your one and only
swimming style is splashing.
Good stuff, bro. Keep going.
I don't want to swim with crocs.
As I was swimming back, I was
kind of getting caught up
in all of the reeds,
and, so, I was worried
that it was, like, crocodiles.
Good stuff. I knew you could do it.
Alright. Let's go.
He'd be safe anyway.
Like, look at this figure.
They'd be like,
"It's not even worth a meal."
I'm never going swimming.
You're doing the next one.
So, you sort of want to release it
like like that.
So, guys, I have to hit it?
Hold it by the handle,
mate. Not the blade.
Hold it like this?
Too much.
This'll be really hard to get it right.
Just come back a bit and run into it.
- Ooh!
- Oh, almost.
OK, so, we have to
Cut.
There are two other teams there -
Holly and Dolor and the Cowboys.
It was kind of nice to see other people
so that we kinda know
where we are in the pack
and what's going through my head
is, "Please, I just
don't want to be last."
- Cover her up. Alright.
- Give it a go.
OK.
All cooled down there, now.
Happy?
- Whoo!
- Thank you very much.
Road Block.
"Who's the sharpest?"
- I'll do it.
- You'll do it?
I'll do it. Might be
better than I thought.
Oh, please
- Thank you!
- Whoo-hoo!
- Thank you so much.
- Thank you. Thank you.
- Road Block.
- "Who's the sharpest?"
You are.
Let's go.
Well done. It's alright.
We're here now. We've done it.
We finally located the Detour.
We ran straight in there.
And we realised that we had
slipped to the back of the pack.
Pick a patient, pick a patient.
Knowing that we have to work so hard
to climb up that pack,
I don't know how we will.
- OK.
- Alright, let's try again.
Not good enough.
Do again.
We get knocked back once,
we get knocked back twice.
We listen to everything,
to detail of what she said,
and tried our absolute best.
This is our third attempt.
We apparently don't know how to cook.
- Hello! Yes.
- Oh, you're back again!
This is an improved recipe.
Not good enough.
Too much tamarind you put on.
We're tasting it,
we're working as a team,
trying to figure out what we're missing.
And we're cooking it again.
Not good enough.
I just felt so defeated.
Yeah.
You have to go back again.
It just seemed like
there was no end to it
and we just knew time was
slipping away from us
and our places were
falling through our hands.
She's so strict.
We could now be in the last place,
which we've never been in.
Should we start again with
new ingredients of this?
27th time lucky.
This is such a joke.
We have wasted so much
time at this Detour.
At this stage, we're the only team there
and we have been knocked back
again and again and again.
She's so strict.
I don't know what else we can do.
We're losing spots, we're losing time.
I just felt so defeated.
I feel like it needs more
..of this.
When we start to stress,
and I know when Amanda
starts to worry about
what teams are in front of us,
that's when things start to go wrong.
We just have to calm
down in those situations
and just focus on the task at hand.
Taste it.
OK, that tastes better. Let's
Alright, let's try again.
We're like, "OK, surely this is right."
- Yay! Thank you so much!
- Wow!
Alright?
- Thank you, Laksa Queen.
- Thank you.
No worries. Thank you very much.
- Thank you. Alright.
- Alright, let's go, let's go.
Road Block. "Who's the sharpest?"
- You do it.
- OK.
Sweet. Oh, did he just
come out of the water?
We get to the Road Block
and we see Dwes and Katherine
just that little bit in front of us.
They'd finished the swimming and they
were about to throw the knives.
This is our opportunity to
catch up to Katherine and Dwes
and overtake them.
Yeah, boy, let's do it.
Go, Jas. You right?
It's slippery.
Remember
..there's crocs out here,
so do not splash.
I'm struggling to get the
knife in the target.
Oi, Dwes, try to
really step into it, like
Use your legs.
He just wasn't using enough strength.
I was just starting to panic a bit.
Especially seeing the boys,
you know, hot on our heels.
Good stuff, Jas! That's it,
mate! Doing really well!
Dwes, try to give it
more strength.
Just plant your foot really hard
and then use your other foot
to just push forward.
Oh!
We're gonna do the leg. That's
pretty much what it is for this one.
Come on. Come on, come on.
The only ones that are left
with us is Jordan and Violeta.
So, we are leaving as we came in,
if we get this right.
Hey, guys, we have a Jane
Doe needing identification.
No ID found on her.
We were banking on being able to
finish that challenge first go.
It could help us buy some time
to kind of like catch up with others.
- Congratulations.
- Thank you!
Thank you very much. Jess, that's you.
- Thank you so much.
- You earned this one.
Thank you.
Road Block. "Who's the sharpest?"
- I'll do it.
- Yeah? Feeling keen?
Let's go!
- Is that it?
- Yep.
We knew that we were the last ones there
but we can still do this,
we can still catch up.
Oh, really? - No?
- Not quite.
- Oh, no!
Let's go, Jas!
So proud of you! Killing it!
They're not far behind you, mate.
You wanna hurry up.
Come on, bro. You can do this.
Whoa!
Whoo-hoo!
- Nice one, mate.
- Nice, bro.
We got this.
- Oh, thank you!
- Nice work, tiger.
Thank you!
Let's get this.
"Make your way to Hidden Valley
Raceway and find the drift cars."
Alright, let's go.
In this next challenge,
teams will come here,
to Hidden Valley Raceway.
It has the longest straight
in the Northern Territory
and is one of Australia's
most famous race circuits.
Once here
..they'll jump in a car
with a professional driver.
Now, whilst he's drifting,
they have to keep the water
in the fishbowl they're holding
above the line.
If it goes below the line,
they'll start again.
If it doesn't go below the line,
they'll get their next clue.
Get ready to drift, baby.
Come on, Justin!
Whoo! Still in first, Katherine!
Anurag and Jas are just behind us,
but we've made really good time.
And if we win, it would be so awesome.
Oh!
Don't bounce it,
mate. It's not cricket.
- Let's go.
- OK.
Here comes the new team.
They had pace.
We knew they were physical,
and they're gonna be a big threat to us.
- Here we go! Yay!
- Shh!
Oh, sorry, we gotta be quiet.
Well, I'm not a swimmer,
let alone go into croc-infested waters.
Yes, MJ.
But once we choose a
Road Block, that's it.
Like, I physically can't walk
away from this challenge
because if I don't do this,
I'm I'm failing us.
Yes, MJ!
You got this! I'm so proud of you!
Work on that aim. Deep breath.
That's it! Whoo!
- Well done. Good work.
- Thank you.
Thank you.
Let's go. Let's go.
Alright.
"Make your way to Hidden Valley Raceway
"and find the drift cars."
- Let's go.
- Let's go, let's go.
All the other teams
that were here have moved on.
Come on, come on, come on.
We've gotta focus. We're dead last.
Yeah, I know we're dead last.
This Detour, it's difficult
because you had to make sure that
you read the instructions properly
to make sure that
you're not missing anything.
She's got a head trauma.
Fix that.
OK, we did this once, so, definitely
We forgot to put a gauze mat down
on her head injury
to keep the wound clean.
We forgot to put a Band-Aid
on our woman's head.
I think that's the one we missed.
I hope it's right.
It was that one, yeah?
- OK, beautiful. Thank you so much.
- Thank you.
Perfect.
Thank you very much. OK.
- See you later.
- Bye.
- "Who's the sharpest?"
- You.
- Yeah, yeah, I'll do it.
- Let's go.
Yes, MJ!
You're so close! Keep going!
MJ just had such a really
good effort at this.
I don't know if I would have
done any better, to be honest.
We're definitely not
swimmers, us AFLW girls.
We much prefer being
on land and running.
No splashing!
I think I was
the loudest swimmer.
The thing literally said,
"Be calm and quiet
"so the crocs don't hear you."
Then I was like, "I
need to do backstroke."
And then I'm like, "Now I can't
see if a croc's comin' at me."
I thought I was gonna die.
Road Block.
She decides that I'm a sharpshooter,
so I have to go into
croc-infested waters
and swim out to a pontoon and back
with a knife in my mouth,
and I thought I was going to die.
That's it! You're nearly there!
Give me something on
land and I'll be fine.
Well done. Great job.
"The lake has been surveyed
for crocodile activity.
"There are freshwater
crocodiles present."
Oh, my God! I hate crocodiles.
This is way worse than
holding the crocodile
in a controlled environment.
Finding out Holly was about
to swim with crocodiles,
I was more happy that I
wasn't doing it, realistically.
I'm so scared.
I've touched a crocodile today.
So, hopefully the crocodiles rub
some sort of, like, swimming skills,
or, like, a blessing on me.
Come on, let's hurry.
We are right on the heels
of MJ and Chelsea.
They're a good team! They're killing it.
- They are serious game, I can tell.
- They're on it.
Concentrate, MJ. Concentrate.
Here we go. Visualise.
It's hitting.
Ooh, bad luck.
That's alright. I'll do shuttles.
My coach will be happy.
The girls have tried it a few
times, baby, so you can do it.
Super hot day in Darwin,
so I was pretty happy
to get in the water.
And it looks sexy.
Oh! Going to be in my dreams
for the next year.
I literally have this, like,
mental picture that I took,
so I'll have that forever.
That was sexy. You are
hot. I love you so much.
This is the one.
Outstanding, mate. Good work.
Mate, appreciate it. Legend. Thanks.
OK.
"Make your way to Hidden Valley Raceway
"and find the drift cars."
OK. Here we go. Let's go.
- Taking this exit.
- Gate two. Yes.
Hidden Valley Road, for sure.
Katherine Katherine and Dwes
are in front of us. The red car.
I think Anurag and Jas
are behind us.
- Oh, yeah.
- That's OK.
Go, go, go. Right next to them.
Come on, let's go. Let's get our bags.
You know what? This is our opportunity
to snatch the first position off them.
Let's go, Jas. Quick,
quick, quick, quick.
It was a bit disappointing
not getting to the line first
to go first in the race cars.
Oh, look at this. I always
wanted one of these.
But then, if we get it
done in the one go,
we could still possibly win this.
And to win it in Darwin,
that'd be great.
Come on, we need to get this done, OK?
Which one do you want?
You want the ute?
- I'll take this one.
- I'm gonna beat you down there.
- Let's go, Jas.
- We got this!
Good luck, Katherine!
For this challenge, we had to
have a fishbowl in our hands
and make sure the water
doesn't all spill out.
So, you've got to work against
the momentum of the car.
Car's going this way,
you hold it this way.
Physics 101.
He's an engineer, I love
physics, so we got this.
What I found difficult was that
each turn, water would slip out.
It's pretty hard, because I was
getting slung here and there.
The car's drifting around
these corners like no tomorrow.
Part of me is going, "Control the bowl.
"Do not let the water spill,"
and the other half is
my boy inside going,
"Ooh, look out the window,
look out the window!
"We're drifting!"
That's it!
That was full-on.
That was full-on.
Thanks, mate. It was awesome.
I'm afraid
I can see the water below the line.
That's a fail.
You'll have to run again.
Uh-oh. We're stuck.
'Cause if Dwes and Katherine
get it the first go,
they make take our front lead.
- We both gotta go?
- Need to do it again.
OK.
They failed. They
dropped too much water.
Alright, that's fine. Let's go.
Yes! Good job, baby!
- Here you are, mate. You earned that.
- Thank you very much.
Thank you very much!
Oh-ho! That was a big high-five!
OK. "Make your way to Hidden Valley
Raceway and find the drift cars.
"Wear your seatbelt."
- Whoo!
- Come on, Bren, let's go!
Let's go, babe.
You're right, bro.
Get out there, bro.
You got this, Holly. You're
a faster swimmer than him.
Righto. Come on, bro.
The crocs are only,
like, 10 metres away.
You got this, Holly. The
crocs hate the fake tan.
I don't think
anyone wants to swim
knowing that there could be crocodiles.
So glad I'm not doing
this challenge. Oh, God.
But it's my Road Block, so
I really have to step up.
Come on, Bren, let's go!
I was like, I just want
to get in and out.
I want to beat the Cowboys
while I've got the chance.
Doing well, baby. Keep going, Holly!
You can beat Brendon now.
Alright, now, do I want to go towards
the city or Casuarina?
I'm not I don't think we
want to go towards the city,
but I I don't know
exactly where we are.
OK, well, I'm going towards the city.
On our way to the Road Block, we did
happen to get a little bit lost.
So, if you see signs and stuff,
Skye, just give me a heads-up.
I just wanna make sure
we're going the right way.
How did you guys get behind us?
Magic.
Obviously, we're still in the game.
We can claw our way back.
They must have taken a wrong turn.
Damn.
Oh. Holly and Dolor. Holly's
done it, Jess. Let's go, let's go.
Oh
Alright, go retrieve 'em.
Come on, Holly.
Remember how we play darts.
Technique over power. Come on.
Alright, Bren. Come on, bro.
You can smash it.
- Hey! That's in!
- Whoo! Yes!
It's alright, babe.
- Here you go, tiger.
- Cheers, mate.
- You earned that.
- Appreciate it.
- Good on you.
- Let's go!
Babe, why'd you pick that one to do?
"Make your way to the Hidden Valley
Raceway and find the drift cars."
Yeah, alright.
You doing alright?
I'm done. I actually don't wanna go in.
It looks deep.
OK.
I'm so scared of crocodiles.
But my pride always picks
me up, and be like,
"Nah, just get in there
and get it done."
Remember, don't splash. Don't panic.
Stay calm.
I mean, she's always been like that.
Once she commits to it,
she knows she's gonna do it.
But I'm actually
kind of worried for her.
She'll do fine if she doesn't panic.
I could feel down my
feet, I was just like,
"Oh, my gosh, I felt something
just brushing through my legs."
And I was freaking out.
Oh
There's a two-metre crocodile
in the water with her.
I'm terrified for her.
Oh
Thanks goodness Jess doesn't know
that there's a two-metre crocodile
in the water with her.
Oh, my God.
Don't stress, Jess.
Stay calm.
Take your time.
Thank goodness Holly's trash at aiming,
so you got time.
Alright. You got this,
Skye. Get out there.
Quick, quick. Skye's in
front of you. Go, go, go.
Jessie! Jessie, we ain't last!
- Let's go, Skye. Get in there.
- Go, Ashie!
Go! Catch up to Jess!
You can take the spot!
They're, like,
splashing everywhere,
and I'm just like, "Do NOT splash."
- You got this. Keep going, Skye.
- Go, Ashie. You got this, girlfriend!
That's it, Jess. Leg up, leg up.
Ahh!
Jess was really struggling
to get onto the pontoon.
Keep going, keep going, Jess.
Just don't let go.
That's it, that's it.
Come on, babe!
- Pull, pull, pull! Get up there!
- Get up there, Skye! You got this!
Push, push, push!
Use those legs!
- Let's go, Skye! Get in there!
- Go, Ashie!
I don't know how long
Jess had been there for,
but she looked real tired.
There is no way that I would be able
to physically just leave her there.
Thank you.
So, Skye's just helped Jess,
and grabbed her knife
for her out of the box.
Thank you, Skye.
Lucky that Skye-Blue was nice enough,
because some other witch -
Ashleigh - was just flaunting it.
Go, Ashie! Yes,
babe! Keep that lead.
All we gotta do is not come last.
Good job, Skye! You can catch Ash.
Neither of us like
seeing people struggle,
and if you can help someone out
and it's not gonna affect you that
much in this race, you may as well.
Good job, Skye.
At the end of the day, you
you want to be a good person.
- Keep it up, keep it up.
- Oh, no. Please help us.
Babe, we're beating the girls.
Let's try and get this.
- Huh?
- The girls just came.
Oh, yeah!
Wait, wait. Now you're
good, now you're good.
- Thank you! - Whoo-hoo!
- Here you go, mate.
- Thank you, thank you.
- That's all yours. Well done.
- Thank you. Alright.
- Let's go.
- Let's go, let's go.
- Good work.
"Make your way to Hidden Valley
Raceway and find the drift cars."
- OK, let's go.
- Let's go.
Go, Ashie. Come on, honey.
Skye and Jake are pretty
much neck and neck with us,
and we definitely
overtook Sefa and Jess,
so I'm feeling good that
we'd made up another place.
Keep it up, babe. You can
do this. You can do this.
- Whoo! That's in!
- Let's go, let's go!
No dilly-dallying. Whoo!
- You nailed it, girl.
- Thanks.
- Like a boss.
- I knifed it.
"Make your way to Hidden Valley
Raceway and find the drift cars."
- Let's go.
- Yeah.
- Come on, come on, come on, come on.
- I know, I know.
The girls are still here. They're
just finished. That's good.
Let's go.
This Road Block is make or break for
us because we have to catch up.
Come on, Jordan, keep pushing!
Come on, you can do it.
OK, alright, let's go. Come on.
Come on, let's hurry.
Come on, bro. Hustle!
Oh, my gosh. That sounds
- Listen to it!
- Sounds so good.
Whoo-hoo!
All that's between us and the first
position is Dwes and Katherine.
We're not here to come
second. We want to win it.
We've got this.
We've been eliminated, come back in
and now if we can just come first,
- we'd be happy with that.
- Yeah.
To still be here and at the top.
Best thing, here in Darwin!
Yes!
I've got this. I hope Jas does too.
- Well done, boys.
- Thank you.
- Whoo! We got to do it twice!
- I know.
- Thank you!
- Thanks, mate. Let's go, let's go.
- Well done.
- - Thank you!
- Thanks.
- Thanks.
Alright.
Pitstop. "Make your way to
the pitstop above the pitstop.
"Hurry - the last team
may be eliminated."
- Let's go, let's go!
- Run!
Every racetrack has a pitstop,
and that's exactly why ours is located
directly above the race circuit
here at Hidden Valley.
And what better place for a pitstop
for the seventh leg
of The Amazing Race Australia?
- Oh, my God!
- Hold on.
"Make your way to the
pitstop above the pitstop.
"Hurry. The last team to
arrive may be eliminated."
- Come on, let's go.
- Up there.
Yeah. Come on.
There. There, there, there! I see it.
Go. Great job.
- Come on.
- Is that it?
- Go, go, go!
- Are we gonna come in first again?
Well, well, well.
If it ain't the Super Sikhs.
- Whoo!
- Whoo!
On the mat, baby. Three, two, one!
Great to see you in the NT.
Welcome to Darwin, guys.
- Thanks, mate.
- Thanks, bro.
Jaskirat and Anurag,
you are first team to check in.
- Whoo!
- Yeah!
And you have won a 5-night
harbourside escape in Darwin
with a Top End safari camp
overnight tour,
with thanks to
Tourism Northern Territory.
Whoo!
- Well done, bro.
- Well done, boys. Go rest.
- You'll need it.
- Thanks, mate.
Come on. We got this.
Here!
Dwes and Katherine,
you are the second team to check in.
Whoo!
Well done!
I don't even know how to really process
that I've never come second before
in anything in my life.
So, like, for me, it's, "Oh, my God,
it's so much of an achievement!"
You guys are getting better and
better. Now go and have a rest, guys.
Well done. Good job. See youse after.
You're not allowed to have favourites.
Have you got a favourite kid?
- No.
- Yeah, same.
My daughter.
Come on, Jordan. Keep it up.
Keep going.
We need to make up for
getting lost this morning.
We're definitely in last place,
so we need to make up
time with this Road Block.
Well done. Let's go.
- Jordy.
- You want to throw into it, not
Jordan and Violeta.
- Come on, Jordan.
- Alright. Ready to throw.
Ohh!
Yes!
- Well done!
- I had it in the target.
So in that moment, we overtook two
other teams that were still there,
and we think we're the last teams.
- And it was such a relief.
- Fantastic.
- Thank you, thank you.
- Go on, get out of here!
We're going, we're going.
"Make your way to Hidden Valley
Raceway and find the drift cars."
- Let's go.
- Come on.
Alright, free to throw.
Come on, Skye. Go get 'em!
We've sort of created a little
friendship with Sefa and Jess.
But obviously, we don't want to
be last rolling into the pitstop.
Keep going, Skye.
More strength, Jess. Don't hold back.
When 250 K's on the line,
it's a different ballgame.
Argh!
- Yeah, we're beating the girls.
- Let's go.
Go, go, go.
Yeah, I got your bum bag.
- Look at this, through here.
- This is so cool.
This challenge was to do
some race-car drifting.
And I had the best time ever!
It was amazing. Like, I was loving life.
Whoo!
Like, the stuff that we have to do
as part of this race is phenomenal
and I love it.
I get a bit car-sick, so
..I was a bit worried about that.
Whoo-hoo-hoo! Ha-ha! Yeah, boy!
Yeah, that's probably the best fun
I've had with my clothes on
for a long time.
That was unreal.
Wow! That was crazy!
Frickin', frickin' crazy, man.
How'd we go, fishy? We still there?
You smashed me. You did well.
Whoo!
Thank you.
Thank you! Thank you!
- Thank you so much!
- Thanks.
- Well done.
- Yeah, buddy!
- Cheers, mate.
- Thanks, mate.
Thanks for that.
- "Make your way to the pitstop"
- "..above the pitstop.
"Hurry. The last team to
arrive may be eliminated."
OK. Let's go!
- There's stairs for us.
- OK.
There he is. Let's go!
Whoo!
It's great to see you in the
NT. Welcome to Darwin.
- Thank you.
- Thanks so much.
MJ and Chelsea, you are
- ..third team to check in.
- Yes!
Whoo!
Bronze medal for first
day, I'll take it.
That was a pretty good
effort, I think, by us.
Yay!
Chris and Aleisha,
you are the fourth team to check in.
Oh, wow! What?!
Good job.
I thought we were, like, seventh!
Oh, there is a few cars here
already. Jeez.
Oh, there might be a pitstop.
- I reckon there is, yeah.
- Pitstop after this.
- Yeah.
- Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go.
Yo!
G'day.
Brandon and Jackson, you are
..fifth team to check in.
Whoo!
- Good one, bro.
- Well done.
- One better than yesterday.
- That's exactly right.
Come on, Jess. Come on.
Ooh, almost.
Alright, Skye, you got this.
Ohhh!
Close, Skye.
We've grown close
to Skye-Blue and Jake.
But I just don't want to be last.
Oh!
Jess is so close.
Ready to throw!
Oh, God.
Oh! Go, go get it!
Aaaagh!
Yes!
Skye, you got it!
It was a long
haul to get it in there
but finally did
- Hey, outstanding. Good work.
- Come on, bring it in.
I think that's worth
one, mate. Good on ya.
I reckon.
But then, it was extremely bittersweet,
knowing Jess was
still struggling with it.
"Find the drift cars."
Let's go.
But, at the end of the day,
we're not coming in last.
Oh! So close. - Aaagh!
Don't worry. Go grab it.
I could feel a
lot of emotion coming.
Like, I try so hard to hold my tears in.
You got it.
This ain't even about the race anymore.
This is just about you doin' it.
- Ooh!
- Hang on, hang on!
Hold the phone, there, mate.
Look at that. Hand goes under it.
Yours.
Thank you.
You deserve that, mate. Bring it in.
Champion effort.
Well done.
"Make your way to Hidden Valley
Raceway and find the drift cars."
Let's go. It's not over.
Good luck, babe.
Let's do it first go, first go.
Holly and Dolor
were in front of us.
- Good luck.
- Good luck.
And then Jordan and Violeta
were in the drift cars behind us.
Hey.
But I feel pretty confident because
I have been in drift cars before,
'cause my partner does stunt driving,
so I think we will be able to beat them.
- Just get one lap of basic.
- One lap of basic.
I'm feeling confident
we can do this first go
because, you know, Dolor played,
you know, sports
at a semi-professional level.
You know, he's so controlled
with his body.
Aaagh!
It's just trying to, like,
move with the car.
Yeah.
I think we were probably the best team.
Whoo!
I don't think I
spilled any water at all.
It was dry as a baby in my lap.
Ah, come on!
How's anyone meant to
complete this challenge?
- That's good. Congratulations.
- Whoo!
- Thank you! - Thank you so much!
- No worries.
"Make your way to pitstop above pitstop.
"Hurry. The last team
may be eliminated."
OK, let's go.
Alright, I can see the
water below the line.
That's a fail.
It was hard, getting there,
knowing we were still
at the back of the pack.
But if you're not last,
you're still in it to win it
and we'll just keep going.
Ashleigh and Amanda, you are
- ..sixth team to check in.
- Nice!
We made it.
So, Sefa and Jess have
just gotten here as well.
There's four teams left.
It's the battle for seventh position.
Battle not to get eliminated.
Now we've gone from potentially fifth
to the back of the pack,
I was not happy.
So important for us
to get this in one go.
I reckon this is when we use
like, really use our thunder thighs.
- Hold it in place.
- Hold it in place.
Alrighty, captain.
Let's get this first go.
We gotta beat 'em, mate. We
gotta beat all the guys here.
We got it, Jess. Come on, Jess!
One go!
Whoaaa!
Whoooo!
Oh, no!
We're at the back of the pack
and elimination's on the table.
But there are teams
that were ahead of us
that have had some
unsuccessful attempts.
So, if we could wing it
and get it on the first go,
we will not be eliminated.
Ohhh! Oh, no!
You tricked me!
Oh!
Knowing that we had some
opportunity to make up some ground
is a huge relief for me.
- I got this.
- Good.
Ohh
If we don't get it now, we
are going to be going home.
Potentially, yeah.
All I can do is concentrate,
make sure the water doesn't
spill out of the bowl
and let's just get to
that pitstop in seventh.
Aaah No.
- How'd you go?
- Nup.
Nuh. Not even close.
Aaaagh!
Oh, that's a fail.
Come on, come on, come on.
That's a fail.
We got so close. It was almost
..exhaustingly frustrating.
- That's a pass!
- Yes!
Great work.
Thank you! Thank you!
Nice work, guys.
And here is your clue.
- Thank you!
- Thank you. Thank you.
- Congratulations.
- Whoo!
- You've done it.
- Thank you.
"Make your way to the
pitstop above the pitstop."
"Hurry. The last team to arrive
may be eliminated." Let's go.
Over there.
It's great to see you in
the NT. Welcome to Darwin.
- Thanks, mate.
- Thank you.
Skye-Blue and Jake, you are
..seventh team to check in.
- Oh!
- Good job, sis.
Every leg, I just get more
and more proud of her.
Stop it!
We came in seventh today.
But we're not going home
and, at the end of the day,
that's all that matters.
Holly, Dolor, you are
..eighth team to check in.
- Yes!
- Oh, thank God.
Thank you.
We even did better than
what we did last leg,
so it was a step up.
We're so close
to being eliminated, man.
I don't want to be eliminated. Far out.
There's a lot at stake
here, so, please
So, the last two teams
were us and Sefa and Jess.
Here we go!
We really love Sefa and Jess
but we still want to be in this race
and we're not ready to go home yet.
Here you go. You got this.
Oh! My Nemos!
OK, this is game on.
We're going to fight for it.
Come on!
Stay in there.
Ohhhh!
Whoa!
We want to push
each other. This is huge for us.
Jordan and I have done so much together
and we've accomplished so much
together and overcome a lot.
And, so, we're not ready
to leave this race.
I think that
we're very determined.
Like, we push ourselves.
Like, we've stepped up to every
challenge, no matter what.
Whoo! Whoa!
Oh! Oh, no!
Oh, come on.
Oh, man.
- It's a pass.
- Thank you so much.
Ohh.
No-o-o!
Far out.
Well done.
And there's your next clue.
Thanks very much.
Appreciate it. Alright, let's go.
"Make your way to pitstop
above the pitstop."
- Let's go.
- Let's go.
It was a huge relief.
We want to be in this race and
we have a lot more to give.
Jordon, Violeta, you are
..ninth team to check in.
Oh, my God.
It's a mix of emotions.
We knew that we had just been saved
and knew that our friends in this
race are likely to get eliminated.
I'm afraid the time limit
for this challenge has expired,
so you will automatically move on
to the pitstop.
This was not good.
There's your last clue.
- Thank you.
- Thank you very much.
- Thank you so much.
- Damn it.
We are prepared for the worst.
Up here. Come on, Jess.
Let's finish this.
But if we do go home,
we gave it our best shot.
Yeah.
Sefa and Jess
..you're the last team to arrive.
- The final team to check in.
- Yep.
Your time on the Race is over.
Whew!
We had a good run.
And, like, you know, today,
I got to hold a crocodile.
I never thought I would
be able to do that.
And today, I was able to
conquer one of my fears.
Hell, yeah.
And many other legs that we've done,
so much of my fears, I
was able to overcome.
This race has really
opened more windows for me
and an opportunity to, like, explore
and to to keep pushing myself.
Yeah, it's a bit
disappointing to go home
but, um, nothing I would
have done differently.
- Thank you.
- Come on, man.
We're going home in this
leg and I have no regrets.
Yeah.
Next time on
The Amazing Race Australia
..in the Northern Territory
I can see them all there.
..crocs aren't the only danger
beneath the surface.
Oh! He got me in the guts!
Toughen up, Princess!
And in the most dangerous
challenge yet
Underwater, blindfolded.
I was super, super scared.
- ..one team
- Come on, come on, come on, come on.
Looks like he might need a bit of help.
I thought, "Something's not right."
..implodes.
I thought I was gonna die.
