and our patients
has been way more fulfilling
than I could ever have imagined.

We have suffered tremendous loss.
But when I look at all of your faces,
loss is not what I see.
I see people who've opened their homes
to neighbors in need.
I see boxes brimming
with clothing and food,
and it warms my heart.
As do the faces
of the brave members of Cal Fire here

who risked their lives and limbs
to save our little corner of the world.
Still, I know some of you
are considering leaving Virgin River,
and I understand,
the task of rebuilding is daunting.
But if we work together, we will rise
from the ashes stronger for it,
like many of us have done before.
That's the power
of Virgin River.

Not in spite of what we lost,
but because of it.
So, today, after we mourn our losses,
let's focus on what we have.
