- welcome! To! Portland! - it's day two of the portland auditions, And some of the acts are ready to get a head start On impressing the judges.

The judges are seated.
Now all we need is the talent.
- maybe we might find the winner Of america's got talent today.
- first up to show the judges his talent Is 38-year-old taxi driver soriah.
- my name is soriah.
I'm 38 years old.
I live here in portland, oregon, And I drive cab.
I end up singing for a lot of people in my cab.
And, yeah, works out pretty well with the tips.
I would like to move from the cab to the stage to sing.
When I go onstage, there's no doubt That they're gonna be moved By something they've never seen before.

- what's your name? - soriah.
And I'd like to do something That maybe some of you have never seen before.
- well, just go for it, soriah.

 - that's it? - no, I couldn't hear myself, so - yeah, but what was it? - unfortunately, we could hear you.
- what was it, soriah? - this is tuvan throat singing.
This is a centuries-old form of singing Of where you use overtones and undertones.
- it's just you making a loud groaning noise.

- it's a ?Noooooooooo ? - I didn't get that.
What was that? I had no idea.
- it's three noes for soriah, But the portland auditions are far from over, And the judges are still searching For a million-dollar act.
- what is your name, please? - I'm known as the amazing amy, And I perform contortion yoga dancing.
- all right, off you go.
- where can one find talent in oregon? - you are so weird.
- well, I love weird.
That's why I do what I do.

Portland's got talent! - welcome back to america's got talent, Where we've traveled to portland, oregon, A place that has very interesting characters.
But onstage, That doesn't seem to be impressing the judges Or the audience.
- it's not an act yet.
- I just went up an eight-step unsupported ladder - I did see it.
- in 90 seconds.
- I saw it, yep.
- I don't come bother you guys When you're working at mcdonald's, okay? - I'd like everybody to vote with us.
One, two, three No! - so it looks like the acts need all the support they can get.
And backstage, there is one group Who stood by each other all their lives.
- we are The hot shot tap dancers.
- three brothers, and this is our sister.
- family of tap dancers.
- of course.
We started when we were little kids, Started performing on the streets At the portland saturday market.
- we've always had a good strong foot behind us, And that's what we owe to our father.
Every day he got up at 4:00 in the morning At saturday market and waited until 10:00 In order for him to get the same spot That he got for ten years.
- I'd go out there and have fun, Even though our judges can be a little tough, though.
- well, yeah.
- yo, have you seen our father? - they've been used to taking criticism, 'cause that's what they get from their daddy.
- I heard that! - our ultimate dream Was that we would get to perform together And be able to make a living at it.
- go out there and have a great time And give 'em what you got.

We are brothers and sister.

And I mean we're actually, like, really brothers, Not just, like, "Brothas," You know what I mean? - and why have you entered America's got talent? - it's time to bring tap to the masses.

This pacific northwest city is famous For it's breathtaking views, natural beauty, And of course, its active lifestyle.
Portland's got talent! - and our next act is hoping They can bring their love of the outdoors to the stage.

- and I'm ryan gaunt, and I'm 29.
We met climbing, fell in love, And we've been together since.
- it all started with a vision.
I was listening to music, And I just realized That dancing and climbing are a lot alike And that I would like to combine the two.
When we perform, There is such a, you know, deep connection.
- go give 'em what you got! - this is the biggest audience we've ever performed for.
- and I'm a little nervous.

We try to do it as smoothly as possible, But we take big falls.

But if you should be lucky enough to come back, I think you got to step it up even more.

- I've give up a lot to be a singer-- Having a home, building a family.
- I left school to come up here.
- I quit my job To pursue my hoop dance passion full-time.
- and next up is a man who knows what it means To dedicate a life to his talent.
- my name is ryan compton, and I'm currently a janitor.
I could have taken a better job, But I was more interesting in taking a position That gave me the chance to train for this.
My talent is extremely different.
It's phenomenal.
Couldn't even attempt to do what I try to do.
And it's gonna blow america away.
I just can't wait to get out there and do it.

- when I was 12, I fell in love with the harmonica.
And in fact, I am still, now, as much in love, You know, as I was then.
I was married once, and I played with my wife.
But she decided to stop playing harmonica, And she said, "Well, you have to stop too," You know.
So we argued.
Finally, we divorced.
It was not my goal, but It wasyou know.
So The greatest love of my life is the harmonica.
I am a harmonica enthusiast, And my goal is to share it with all america.

And where are you from, pierre? - from brussels, belgium.

And what have you come to do? - I will be playing Part of the flight of the bumblebee.

- all four of us kids in our family Have cystic fibrosis.
It's a genetic disease.
It's a lung disease.
And it gets worse with age.
Your lungs can get really tight.
It's pretty - hard.

THE AVERAGE LIFE EXPECTANCY IS MID-, LATE-30s.
But we can enjoy every minute together that we have.
And if we pursue our dreams, Then it will give us something to look forward to Instead of dwelling on our disease.
Cystic fibrosis does not define us.
We define ourselves.
Tonight we are so excited To get on that stage and perform.
- go out there and get 'em! - this would be the opportunity of a lifetime, And I want the judges to look beyond everything, To just see us for who we are.

And you have amazing talent, But that combined with what we know, It's just so moving, And I want for you anything you want in life.
