The Amazing Race Australia
Are you gonna get claustrophobic
down in the mine?
I think I have to do a nervous pee.
..in the moonscape mining
town of Coober Pedy
Oh, this is so bad-ass.
..a superhero-sized surprise
was revealed.
Give a big race welcome
to Stan and Wayne.
Oh, no!
They are two human hulks.
Get back on the train!
But they didn't frighten
the geek and the princess
Princesses can do anything.
"Drive to Crocodile Harry's to find
Beau at the next pit stop."
..who claimed their first victory.
Welcome to Coober Pedy.
Thank you so much!
- Are you Harry?
- Harry's dead.
Oh, no.
Tonight
Wha-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
..teams get a taste of Germany
This is gigantic.
- Bring it.
- Bring it in here.
..in the Adelaide Hills.
Das ist wunderbar.
- We're in Adelaide.
- Yoo!
- Oh, this is hectic!
- Can you hear me?!
But could last leg's winners
They're all running round like
chooks with their heads cut off.
No! No, Chris!
..go from hero
This is why I hate sport.
..to zero.
Last night, our teams jumped back
onto the iconic Ghan railway
and made the overnight trip south-east.
Now our nine teams have arrived
here in Adelaide,
South Australia's cosmopolitan capital.
A place known for its
food and wine culture
and the Fringe Festival.
It is the urban setting for the 11th
leg of the Amazing Race Australia.
Babe, go.
"Welcome to Adelaide,
city of churches."
"Make your way to
the famous Adelaide Oval."
Let's go.
The remaining nine teams are departing
in the order they arrived
at the previous pit stop.
- Thanks.
- Thank you so much.
They're heading to one of the most
well-known sporting grounds
in the country, Adelaide Oval, where
they'll receive their next clue.
Yoo!
We're in Adelaide!
- Yoo!
- Our home state.
Let's go the second one, baby,
'cause it's easier to get into.
So, last leg we finished first
for the first time
and we got a great cash prize.
OK.
Huge achievement and huge milestone.
Thank you very much.
Let's go. Let's go.
- Thank you.
- Thank you.
So, you know where you're going?
Yeah, to King William
and then left onto the War Memorial,
and then there should be
the parking bay just there.
Yeah.
It was a pretty big advantage for us
because MJ was born and bred
here in Adelaide.
This saves us time and we don't have
to stop and ask for directions,
or even buy a map.
Yeah, so home ground advantage
is definitely paying dividends
right now.
- It does in footy too!
- Yeah.
I'm keeping an eye
on the girls behind us.
So you actually think
they know where they're going.
I think they know where they're going.
We were very, very happy
getting started this morning,
but if you're up the front
of the pack, those nerves kick in.
OK, we'll lose the girls now
because they just got that light.
Oh, dude.
We have to stay at the top of the pack.
- Ooh.
- Uppy, mate.
Here we go again. City life again.
Buses, trams, trains,
people everywhere.
- Left here? Thank you, that's fine.
- Thank you!
I feel like we're at
quite a disadvantage
that MJ and Chelsea are here.
They know their way around.
That's the East Gate, so
we're coming up to the South Gate.
In this challenge,
each team must find their team photo
hidden on one of the 50,000 seats
around the Adelaide Oval.
One team member, the spotter,
will take the sky climb
up to the roof of the stadium,
and, using a map, will direct
the searcher, who's on the ground.
With limited space up top, teams will
only have 10-minute sessions
to find their picture
before they have to go
to the back to the queue.
Once successful,
teams will receive their next clue.
We arrived at Adelaide Oval
first. No-one else was in sight.
Here we are. Team SA.
Adelaide team. Let's do it.
Here we go.
- Alright, perfect. Who's decided
- I'm going to do the RoofClimb.
So I think you're much better
at spotting and attention to detail.
- So you'll be the spotter.
- Yep.
Yeah, I'll run it.
And you be the spotter.
Mate, I can spot us from a mile away.
It's easy to spot YOU from a mile away.
Oh, yeah.
I love Adelaide Oval.
It brings so many memories back.
The 2019 AFLW grand final.
We won a premiership
in front of 53,000 people.
Ah here it is.
That's me. There's Chels.
We really wanted to win today
and make our South Australian family
and our Adelaide Crows family
really proud of us.
- Hello.
- Hello.
OK.
I had a megaphone and some binoculars
and a map of the Adelaide Oval.
Oh, this is going to be hard in
10 minutes. She might have to run.
And MJ was down on the ground,
and she was searching basically
for this tiny photo.
The map had crosses on it,
but it only highlighted big sections.
It didn't show which seat or
whose photo was going to be there.
Oh, my God. How do I use this thing?
- Chels!
- Yeah!
- Can't work it!
- Where is the photo?
Can you hear me?
Number 6! Swap!
1! 2! 3! 4! 5! 6!
Oh.
Can you hear me?
Oh, that's much better.
We only have 10 minutes!
- No deal!
- No deal!
Head towards the scoreboard!
Run, Forrest, run!
I think in here.
- Hey, guys. Stan's going to the roof.
- Who's going
He's going to be the spotter.
I'm going to be the searcher.
Oh, it's heights? Is it heights?
- Do you want me to go?
- Yeah.
- OK.
- OK, then just take that.
- No, I was supposed to do the I
- I was going to do the running.
Soon as we got there, I saw these
harnesses and all this stuff.
And I was like, I don't want
to freak out and raise my cortisol
and potentially lose
some muscle tissue.
You right with heights then, big dog?
- Yeah, she'll be right.
- Perfect.
He's alright with heights
until he falls down.
- Who's going up on the roof today?
- Me.
- What's your name?
- Ashleigh.
Have fun! You get to go on the roof!
OK! Keep going!
You're going to have to go
to the third floor!
Sir Donald Bradman Pavilion!
Right at the top!
Three minutes!
She was just complaining to me about
how we didn't really get a chance
to do any cardio this morning.
Time!
We had 10 minutes to find it.
Anything?
No deal? Can't find it?
I've literally looked at every
single chair. There's nothing.
I haven't seen one photo
this whole time.
And then you had to go
to the back of the queue.
So we have to wait our turn.
I just want to get back out there.
I've run the whole stadium.
I've run all the way around.
I've run up four flights of stairs
No, more than four flights of stairs.
I've looked in all the bays.
Every single red marker
that Chels told me, I looked in.
Nothing. Not one.
- You can come up here
- Wow.
Oh, this is hectic. This is cool.
I was up there with
Anurag and Wayne, the new guy.
I felt very bad-ass in my costume.
OK, the second section there
on your left.
The red second section stand!
Keep going! Check the Chappell Stand!
There is 50,000 seats
in this stadium,
so people are running around like
chooks with their heads cut off.
- Anurag, how do I get up?
- Just run through!
It's just I don't know.
It's anyone's game right now.
All the way up to the green section!
So, it's in that direction,
right, baby?
I I-I don't know, babe.
Anybody that you see
and it's safe to pull up
- Yeah.
- Like this lady.
- No, there's nowhere to pull up.
- Right in front of her.
Like, you've just got to be
a bit bolder about, like,
just feeling confident to stop,
you know?
- We were really confused and, um
- I think we were just a bit frazzled.
We got extremely lost
on our way to Adelaide Oval.
So, I'll be the spotter.
I'll be the spotter. I'll go up.
Here, babe.
Help me wriggle on into this.
- Ooh! It's like a giant nappy.
- Yeah.
- Snazzy.
- Who's going up on the roof? You?
- She's going on the roof. Yeah.
- I am. Yep.
- I'm surprised you're not doing it.
- You're surprised?
- Heights are your thing, right?
- You're surprised?
No, thank you.
Wayne!
I can't see any photos
in that one. Head to the next
Because there's limited space
on the roof,
they've merged us
with two different teams up there.
And the microphones
are just going bonkers.
Come back down! Come back down!
Come down!
Anurag's voice was just confusing.
I hear 'stop', I hear 'run'.
Which one is Anurag telling me?
All that section!
Good work, bro! Keep it up!
These guys are still looking, which
means they haven't found it either.
So that's buys us time.
To your left!
The bay to your left!
Yeah, that one! Check that one!
Got nothing. That's a nightmare.
There are so many
seats in this stadium.
This is a really, really hard task.
I was so stressed.
We're going to be last place.
- We could be going the wrong way.
- I know.
Then maybe get into the right lane
so we could pull into an
actual shop or something.
I want to pull in here.
There's just, like, not many
people to ask, you know?
Do you see anyone?
There's guys up there. Look.
- There's guys
- All the way up there?
- We have to, baby, 'cause we
- No, no, no. Get back in.
- We're going.
- Let's ask them where.
- We're getting out.
- No, no, get in.
- Baby Baby
- Come on
Aleisha, we have to get directions.
This is not the place
to get directions, Chris.
- It is. There's someone right here.
- Fine.
- This isn't
- Baby, baby, wait, wait.
Excuse me! Are we able to ask you
for directions?
Even if you could Google it for us.
Thank you.
It was a long way away.
So we knew we were last at that point.
Yep! That one,
to your left! Left, left! That one!
Alright. Do Chappell Stand.
I feel like I just looked over
at least 500 seats.
I went through
so many different sections.
Search all! Everything!
All that section there!
I found a picture
of Jordan and Violeta.
I didn't tell them because we wanted
to get out of the challenge first.
Down the other side of the block.
What's that? What did you find?
I found MJ and Chelsea's photo.
Wayne. Where's the other one?
Voss William, on the opposite side!
- Up those stairs!
- Where are you going?
Yes! I found it!
You got it?
I found it!
I feel like we're gonna be here
all day.
Oh, my God. We did so well. OK.
We found it! We found it!
- Thank you, thank you!
- OK, let's go, let's go, let's go.
Quick, quick, quick!
- Detour.
- Yoo!
We love a good detour.
Slap or Snag.
A detour is a choice
between two challenges,
each with its own pros and cons.
And this one will take place
in the town of Hahndorf
on the outskirts of Adelaide,
which is home to our oldest surviving
German settlement.
In this detour, teams must
choose between Slap or Snag.
The teams that choose Slap must come
and don a lederhosen
and learn the world-famous slap dance.
If it's performed correctly
..they'll receive their next clue.
Or our teams can choose Snag
and come down to the Hahndorf Inn
and eat a complete wurst platter,
which is essentially
a plateful of German sausages.
When they eat the whole plate,
they'll receive the next clue.
Yum.
- Let's Let's do the dance.
- Fine, let's go.
Found the yellow team,
the girls' photo.
Chelsea and MJ.
So
Now it's whether I share it or not.
She's next up.
I decided to let her know,
just because I think this is
a full-on challenge
and I'd be so grateful
if someone helped US out.
There's $250,000 on the line.
There's your character,
your credibility.
I'd rather be a really good human
than a really rich one.
But I'd like to be both.
Chelsea!
Got it!
Is that us?
Yeah! It's us!
That's it. That's it.
That feels good.
I think I'll get the favour
returned one day.
I really do believe in good karma
and coming back to you full circle.
We're the last team, babe.
- We have to refocus.
- I know.
We have been a mess.
I know! I don't know what
I can do differently.
- We've got to do this.
- Alright, let's go.
I know. You know me. I'll switch on.
You need to go up behind the stands, V.
Got it!
Good girl. Well done.
That's it. Good job.
Friggin hell.
Well done, mate.
Well done.
What's that?
Thanks.
Is you.
OK.
That good karma literally just
came straight back in my face.
Like, MJ actually had found ours,
I think, and she just told me bay 6.
- Good job!
- Yay!
- Well done.
- That was so hard.
Here we go.
- Congratulations, girls.
- Thank you very much.
Thank you! Awesome.
Alright, let's go.
- Congratulations.
- Perfect, thank you so much!
Thank you.
Thanks so much,
guys. Beautiful. Let's go.
Wow. Horrible rip.
There it is.
- Where are we going?
- Detour.
Detour.
- Slap or Snag. Ooh.
- Do you want to eat?
- I want to eat a snag.
- Let's do it. It's huge, though.
- I'm hungry. Let's go.
- Alright, let's go.
- Slap. Surely. Dancing.
- Yeah, let's do it.
Good boy! Keep going!
Straight, straight, straight!
Up to the top! The very top!
No! No!
We were dead last so we had to get
this right to catch up.
OK, you're down there.
You're on the wrong stairs.
Up another two levels.
All the way up! Up, up, up!
Time's up.
I think we're the first team here.
Alright, let's go. Changing area.
Let's do this.
We had the cutest little outfits on.
Honestly.
The suspenders, the socks,
the booty pants.
We love a good dress-up.
We walk in and the guy said, "We're
gonna demonstrate the dance for you."
It's like, oh, my gosh,
there's a lot of things happening
with the slapping and the feet
and the kicking.
You can tell there's a distinct
male and a female part.
Alright, who of you is gonna be the
male and who's gonna be the female?
- I'll be the male.
- You'll be the male. OK, fantastic.
We're gonna be here for hours.
- Let's go.
- Let's go.
Here, here.
Oh, surely not.
Are you kidding?
We see Jordan and Violeta.
They're ballroom dancers.
This is way up their alley.
Oh, my God.
Jordan, easy as!
I was like, how are we gonna do this?
Right foot, left foot.
One, two, three, four.
Let's do it.
This is gonna be huge.
It's gonna be, like, a metre long.
- Wait, are you serious?
- No, I'm serious.
Are you ready? Just, like, chow down.
- Good luck.
- Whoo. Alright.
Everything. You ready?
I was really excited to eat
because I was quite hungry.
When it came out,
I was a little bit shocked.
This is gigantic!
I'm not sure
if I'm a huge fan of big sausages.
- It's a lot to take in.
- Twice. Two circles.
Right. Right.
One, two, three, four. Ah! Two, three.
Ah, man, I keep doing it wrong.
Two, four, five. Wrong foot.
- You nearly got it!
- Nearly.
Jordan's part was much harder
than my part.
- Listen to the rhythm, though.
- I'm trying. I'm trying, yeah, I am.
Two, three, four, five, six.
Ahh!
I hit it with the wrong hand.
Yeah, it's tough.
It's tough.
Not ballroom dancing.
- Yeah!
- I got it!
- Congratulations, boys.
- Thanks, mate. Thanks heaps.
Detour. Slap or Snag.
- Eating, for sure.
- Let's go. Let's do it.
Yep. Check that bay. Check that one.
Everything properly.
Yes! Whoo! Yeah!
You got it?
Well done!
Stop! That one! Check that whole bay!
Grouse.
- Yeah!
- Yes.
Found it?
Yeah, found it!
Got it!
- Great work. Great work.
- Nice one, bro.
- Well done, guys.
- Thanks, man. Appreciate it.
I'm proud of you.
- Thank you.
- Thank you.
- Cheers, mate.
- Legend.
- Snag?
- Snag.
Snag. Every time.
- Let's do Snag.
- Let's do Snag.
- Slap with this?
- Yep, Slap.
- Slap or Snag?
- Snag. Done.
Are you hungry?
Mate, I'm a huge fan of German food.
An even bigger fan of protein.
So this is the best one.
This is the best challenge for us yet.
Das ist wunderbar!
Wunderbar!
Next level, babe!
I can't believe that we started
in first place and now we're last.
Teams are going to be well ahead of us.
It seemed absolutely impossible
to find it.
Please, please go faster.
Hey, guys.
Sprechen Sie Deutsch?
Snag or Slap was next.
It was an easy decision for us.
Yeah, bring it!
We love eating.
You didn't even use your cutlery.
Chelsea, why did we do this?
We should have just danced.
It felt like we were eating
those snags for hours.
And at the same time we're watching
everyone who's doing the slaps dance,
they're performing
right in front of us.
Yoo-hoo!
OK. Thank you.
I think I stuffed the start.
I was doing legs the wrong way
and then we didn't do
the two twirls properly.
Yaoowww!
- Well done, guys.
- Yes! Thank you very much.
Thank you!
We were really happy
that we were able to overtake
Amanda and Ashleigh.
Alright.
Can we keep these or?
Come on. We're nearly there.
Finish mine.
Yep!
- Ohh! Yes.
- Thanks, legend.
- Thank you very much.
- Thanks, mate.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Oh, my gosh. I feel sick.
Roadblock.
A Roadblock is a challenge that
only one team member can perform
based on a cryptic clue.
Who's the most graceful?
You.
- Should I do it?
- You can do it.
I'll do it.
With over 500 churches
representing 30 religions,
Adelaide is known
as the City of Churches.
This Roadblock will see one team
member perform
with the Amazing Grace
Gospel Church Choir.
They will learn the song
in the African language Swahili.
Then they must take to the stage
and lead the choir correctly
to earn their next clue.
"Sing your heart out on stage
and earn your next clue."
- Oh, yeah!
- Let's go.
Hoo!
Quick, baby!
There might only be one minute left!
Quick, quick!
We had taken so long.
The challenge was about to
hit its time limit.
Is that a whistle to come in?
Time's up.
Sorry, guys.
This location is now closed.
You did not find your group photo
and there will be a time penalty.
OK.
Thank you.
That's why I hate sport.
We got a time penalty which we have
to be served on a mat at pit stop.
Let's get the heck
Sorry, baby. I know.
I'm just frustrated.
Alright, good.
Thank you!
Whoo-hoo!
Thank you.
They slap a few snags
down in front of us. Let's go.
Everything edible.
Mate, you've got to be kidding.
I think I had, like, three mouthfuls
and I was like, "This is horrible."
Alright.
That's it.
Easy, easy.
One, two, three, four, five, six.
One, two
Yeah, Dolor's a great dancer.
Whenever we're in the club,
people always want to film him,
want to watch him dance.
One, two, three, four, five, six.
Two, three. So, OK, wait
I got confused there.
Go from the top again.
OK, this time We got this.
We failed on the first attempt.
We went back and rehearsed again.
Yahoo!
Yes!
And then we nailed it.
OK, let's go.
Oh, Roadblock.
- I'll do it.
- OK, yeah.
- Let's go.
- OK.
Game time, Dolor.
This way?
Yahoo-oo-oo-oo-ooh!
- Well done.
- Yeah!
Thank you, thank you.
We only had one attempt
and we passed straight away.
"Who's the most graceful?"
- You are.
- Me.
Oh! Quickly!
We were
first to arrive at the church,
but MJ and Chelsea were behind us.
I'm not a very good singer.
Can you teach me?
- We'll try.
- You'll try? OK.
It's not just singing -
I have to learn a song
in a completely different language.
It's not up my alley at all.
"Da-ni".
- "Too-na-ra-ha".
- Yes.
- "Mm"
- "Por"
"Por. Ya-soo."
- OK.
- You can do it.
I hope so. OK.
Alright, let's do this one again
and then we do that one
and then we put it together.
Ah, you're getting there.
- Take that one.
- I'm going.
I'm still chewing the last one.
- You right?
- Mm.
- Going good.
- Good!
It wasn't a Bunnings sausage sizzle,
I can tell you that.
No, definitely not. They definitely
weren't Aussie snags.
Shut up.
We're nearly done.
Alright.
That was probably just,
like, entree for them.
- Well done.
- Yes!
Das ist wunderbar.
Pretty sure I seen Stan have,
like, three extra snags
and stick 'em in his pocket
on the way out.
Um
- Bit of protein.
- Yeah.
Not gonna be able to eat all that.
You're gonna have to, bro.
Yeah, jeez, I was chockers.
Do you wanna change?
- You're kidding me, aren't you?
- I'm asking you.
Check, please.
- Well done, boys.
- Too easy. Let's go.
All the other teams were leaving.
Can we get a check, please?
- Wunderbar.
- Thank you very much.
That was it.
- You're not gonna finish?
- Nope. I'm out.
We decided to switch the detour
at this point.
We just had to hope
that changing detours this late
wouldn't cost us the race.
- OK, let's go.
- Let's go.
So, when we arrived at the church,
we see MJ and Chelsea
and Violeta and Jordan
already learning the song.
This doesn't sound like English.
- It's hard, it's hard, it's hard.
- You're doing such a good job!
MJ's doing a really good job.
No-one's had an attempt yet.
I'm hoping MJ has a crack.
Alright! Let's do it.
One, two, three.
I saw Chelsea in the watching,
and she was just like this,
cringing, like,
"Ohh, I can't listen to this."
- I literally saw that! On stage.
- No!
How do you think that makes me feel?
No!
I tried.
I wasn't very good, but I tried.
How did I stuff it up after that?
Brendon went in. He had the easy job.
All I had to do was just have
the hands on the hips
and one, two, one, two.
Swish!
In here?
Oh, the boys are still learning.
We got
a little bit of hope back
when we saw Brendon and Jackson
still dancing.
So we thought
we had a little bit of a shot here.
I quickly noticed that the male part
was super hard.
- I think I should do that one.
- You should do that one, yeah!
- I'll be the girl.
- I'm the male, please. Yes.
Turn, turn, and turn.
One, two, three, four, five, six.
One, two, three, four, five, six.
That's the fastest learner
I have seen so far.
Oh, thank you!
I don't sing, I'm not good at rhythm,
I'm not good at remembering
all the different words.
It was in Swahili, so
..that just made it even worse.
I'm sorry. I'm taking so long.
I'm sorry.
Go give it an attempt.
- Give it an attempt?
- Yeah.
I was getting a bit stressed
and flustered
because we heard other people singing.
Yes.
I did not think that a singing choir
challenge would break me,
but I was terrified.
One more time, one more time.
Give me one more time.
One, two, three, go.
She absolutely nailed it
and we came out of there first!
Whoo!
OK. "Make your way to
the Trinity Church for your pit stop.
"Hurry - the last team to arrive
may be eliminated." Let's go.
Here in Adelaide,
there are magnificent churches
and cathedrals around every corner.
And Trinity Church, right behind me,
was the very first ever built,
back in 1838, making it the oldest
church in South Australia.
And it's the pit stop for the 11th
leg of The Amazing Race Australia.
- So it's gonna be on the left?
- It's gonna be on the left.
- Holy Trinity Church.
- I DO know where that church is! Yes!
I know where the church is.
It's on the corner. Yes.
- We wanna get to the pit stop first.
- Our home town.
Our home leg.
Hopefully come in first place and,
you know, make our state proud.
One, two, three,
four, five, six. One, two, three.
Yeah, so we learnt the dance
and thought,
"Righto, let's just go in there
and get it done."
Thanks, mate.
I wish we'd picked the dance
from the start.
Yee-hoo!
'Cause that was the best fun
that we've had. 100%.
You beauty!
- Thanks, mate.
- Thanks, matey!
We left second-last, a little behind,
but Chris and Aleisha were
still there as we were going.
Who's the most graceful?
You are?
Yee-hoo!
Yes! Thank you so much.
Good job, baby. Really good job.
We did pretty good at that challenge,
actually.
This is an opportunity
to get out of last place.
- Think we might be out.
- What do you mean? It's good.
"Who's the most graceful?"
You're the most graceful.
But it might not be that.
What else could 'grace' be?
I thought if he chose
the most graceful person,
it's gonna be the opposite of that.
- I mean, it's you, right?
- Want me to do it?
"Join the choir
at the Amazing Grace Gospel Church.
"Sing your heart out onstage
to earn"
- I'm so sorry.
- OK, let's go.
That one should have been me.
I'm a singer.
I can't believe I'm not doing this.
"Find the Amazing Grace Gospel Church
in Mitchell Street."
We were on the way to the Roadblock.
Yeah, we're horrible with directions.
- That's alright. Thank you.
- That's OK. Thanks, mate.
Trying to get to Devon Park.
Excuse me, excuse me. Excuse me.
Please. Please, please.
We didn't know some of the other
teams were behind us at that point.
- I'm so nervous.
- Don't worry.
There's nothing to be nervous
about. We can stay here all night.
OK.
We're sitting in third
and I'm thinking we're gonna be
in last any minute now.
Let's go.
- Do you want me to give it a go?
- It's up to you.
That last one was perfect.
Just back yourself.
Like, you've got this.
Oh, I'm so proud of you!
- I was so nervy!
- You did so well.
"Make your way to the Trinity
Church for your pit stop."
- Let's go.
- Let's go.
OK, I'll give it a go.
I am a little bit frustrated that
I was such a perfectionist with it,
because it meant that Amanda
went before me and had her go.
That was excellent!
"Hurry to Trinity Church
for your pit stop."
- OK, let's go.
- Let's go.
- Look - flags.
- Flags? Where?
- See it? Right in front of you.
- Oh, yeah. OK.
OK, let's go.
There's the flags. Let's go.
OK.
- Welcome to Adelaide!
- Thank you!
It's great to be home.
MJ and Chelsea,
you are first team to check in.
Whoo! Boy, I've got
a lot of sausage in me.
- Yeah. Home ground advantage or what?
- Yeah. Massive. Massive advantage.
Also got a little surprise.
You have also won a First Class Pass.
- You know what that means?
- We do. Thank you so much, mate.
Day off, and you cannot get eliminated.
OK.
But you'll be waiting with me,
probably all night,
to serve a Salvage and a Sabotage
to the final two teams who check in.
Choose wisely. Get thinking, girls.
- Well done.
- Thank you.
- Well done.
- Thanks so much. Thanks, guys.
Thank you. I'll be back.
Look out.
Sounds like a party.
Aleisha, Aleisha, Aleisha, Aleisha.
Aleisha, don't worry about that.
- Can you help me put this on?
- Yep, yep.
OK. Gonna learn it as fast as possible.
This is an Aleisha challenge, and
we can't change. It's too late now.
Oh, that's hard.
- You ready?
- No.
Oh!
It's not easy at all.
I don't know how on earth
Chris is gonna do this.
Can we do the first bit again?
Yes!
Whoo!
Good luck, guys.
Macy Gray's Gospel Church.
Please, someone.
- Oh
- Oh, stop!
- Mitchell Street?
- No.
- What?
- DAVOREN Park, not Devon.
Oh, far out!
Oh, that was the worst. We're
falling further and further behind.
Oh, my goodness, Wayne!
Davoren Park.
- We got this far to go.
- Argghh!
Alright, where are we now?
- We are here.
- Oh, my gosh!
We gotta go all the way up here.
That's our map after today's race.
Not tu-nara - tu-nara-ha.
I just saw
the stowaways come in,
so, they are the last team here.
We have a penalty, unfortunately.
But if he can do this really quick,
we might be OK.
Can I just try it once
while there's no-one in line?
- OK.
- Yeah.
And then I might come back.
I just want to try it once. Yeah.
- Alright.
- Thank you so much.
Focus, focus, focus, yeah?
- Right here?
- Yeah, baby.
- Ahhhhhhhh!
- That's OK. It's alright.
The first attempt
I got a little bit of stage fright.
And I jump up on stage and there's
a huge choir there behind me
and I just forgot the words.
I know it. I know it all.
- You need to trust yourself more.
- OK. Yeah. Yeah.
Thank you.
"Make your way to the Trinity Church
for your pit stop."
Let's go!
Jordan and Violeta,
you are second team to check in.
- Yes!
- Good work.
Nice job.
- Monster effort again.
- Yeah.
- Today was our leg.
- It was our leg.
This is the highest that we've been
all race.
We feel like we've worked
hard to be in second place.
- I'll see you tomorrow.
- Thanks very much.
Thank you, Beau.
Yoo!
Whoo!
- Welcome to Adelaide.
- Thank you.
Ashleigh and Amanda,
- you are the third team to check in.
- Yes!
- Congratulations. Well done.
- Thanks.
- Thanks so much.
- Thank you.
- That's good.
- Oh, thank you.
It's a mouthful.
Let's do it. Let's do it. Let's do it.
There were teams
just about to finish.
He knew he had to hurry.
A little bit more practice.
I'll be back soon, guys.
- OK, can we go from the top?
- OK.
We have no idea how long our time
penalty was going to be on the mat.
We just had to finish to avoid
being in last position.
You know it, baby.
I think I wanna try again. Yeah.
One, two, three, go.
Thank you!
Oh, my God, I love you.
"Make your way to the Trinity Church.
"Hurry! The last team to arrive
may be eliminated."
Cowboys and Bodybuilders
were still there.
We've got a time penalty,
but we've still got a chance
to avoid bottom place.
- Floor it.
- You didn't give me a clue or anything.
I gave you the clue, babe.
No, you didn't.
You just handed me the envelope.
No, I gave you the clue first.
Oh, sorry, you're right.
I'm sorry, you're right.
- I'll start driving, alright?
- Yep. Deal.
Coming in first, we're having to
give out a Sabotage and a Salvage.
But we didn't know who was
gonna be the bottom two.
Holly and Dolor, you are
the fourth team to check in.
Yes!
More and more teams were rocking up,
so our initial conversation
on who we would save,
it was really just waiting to see
who's coming in last.
Jaskirat and Anurag, you are
the fifth team to check in.
Yeah!
Whoo!
- OK, we're turning right?
- And then we will be turning right.
Exactly.
- Oh, here, here, look.
- Yes. Oh, my God. Yes.
Can we just park anywhere in here?
That's so annoying.
- That's in?
- Yeah.
- Oh, that's Skye-Blue back there.
- Oh.
I'm gonna take the stairs.
Out of the car park,
Skye-Blue and Jake ran past us.
Skye-Blue and Jake, you are
..the sixth team to check in.
- Sixth. OK.
- Sixth.
- That's all that matters, eh? Wow.
- Hi, guys.
Welcome to Adelaide.
- Thanks for having us.
- Thank you.
Chris and Aleisha, you are
..the seventh team to arrive.
That's good. We're still here.
However, you will serve
a 20-minute penalty
for not finishing a challenge.
So please wait behind our girls.
We're still in it, baby.
We started in first place
at the start of this leg.
Now we are in one of the
bottom positions.
Doesn't feel good.
- Let's go, let's go, let's go back.
- We'll go back.
Breathe. Your mind is here?
You're all good, mate.
We kind of knew that we were
falling behind a fair bit.
One, two, three, go.
Too quick. Way, way too quick.
Righto.
Yeah, I was getting a little bit
frustrated there.
Ka-ni-yeh
- So you want to go inside? Good.
- Yes, I think I'm ready to go.
The cowboys were still there.
We can make some ground up.
Whoo!
"Make your way to the
Trinity Church"
Oh, yes. Go, bro. We're still ahead.
I just wanted to get that challenge done
because it was just driving me insane.
- OK.
- Go. You're good. Let's do it.
One, two, three, go.
Whoo-hoo!
I nailed it. They nearly gave me
a full-time job with them.
"Pit stop. Hurry! The last team to
arrive may be eliminated." Let's go.
Stan and Wayne were just in front of
us so we knew we still had a chance.
- Ah, we might get there.
- Don't give up hope, brother.
We actually came onto the mat
in seventh place
and Beau said we had
a 20-minute time penalty.
There's just a lot of odds
against us right now and
..we were feeling very uneasy.
- The Cowboys are right behind us.
- That's right.
- It's us against them now in the race.
- Yeah, yeah.
Keep an eye out for the colours.
Car park The Terrace!
Here it is, bro.
Up here. Go, go, go, go.
Car park. Whoo. That's it there.
- You're joking.
- No.
Up here, look. There's one here.
There's one here.
20 minutes probably feels like
a bloody lifetime.
- Here we go.
- You gonna do a U-ey?
- Yeah.
- Good job.
Pass it over here.
- Where's the stairs?
- Let's go.
Come on, bro.
Boys. Stan and Wayne,
you are the eighth team to arrive,
but the seventh team to check in.
- Yeah, good. Yes.
- What a relief.
I thought we were dead last.
Because we had that 20-minute time
penalty, they got to go ahead of us.
You got lost a bit today, huh?
- We went to a different town.
- We went to a different suburb.
Yeah.
The German food took
our blood down to our guts.
Yeah, and these things
didn't work anymore.
Yeah, anyway
But you're still in. Go rest
and recover. I'll see you soon.
- Big boys, eh? Strong, eh.
- Yeah, they are.
Chris and Aleisha,
please step back on the mat.
You have served your penalty,
and although you were
the seventh team to arrive,
you are the eighth team to check in.
And because you were second last,
please remain on the mat.
OK.
So we had Chris and Aleisha,
and Brendo and Jacko to choose from.
It's a really difficult spot to be in.
Brendon and Jackson.
You are
..the last team to check in.
Well, boys, this is a predetermined
non-elimination leg.
However, because you are one of
the final two teams to check in,
you will be served
with either a Salvage,
which is a massive advantage,
and a Sabotage,
which will severely slow you down.
MJ and Chelsea,
who would you like to sabotage?
I'm pretty certain that we're gonna
get a Salvage from MJ and Chelsea.
We've gotten on pretty well
with them, we quite like them,
they quite like us.
Love these guys, but they have been
one of the best teams
and the most consistent.
So, we're gonna sabotage
Chris and Aleisha.
Really sorry.
That was a huge shock.
We'd been struggling a lot
and we had just really one good leg
and the girls happened to be there
to see it and
Yeah, this is gonna hurt us a lot,
actually.
It's pretty hard to know
who to trust in this race.
At the moment it kind of feels like
every other team are against us.
We're very thankful.
It's not an easy decision,
it's part of the game,
but we're so grateful for youse
doing it. Thank you so much.
We all live to fight another day.
It is gonna be tough.
But if anyone can overcome it,
it's you guys.
Go rest and recover
and I'll see you soon.
Next time on
The Amazing Race Australia,
in the seaside town of Port Lincoln
That's amazing.
..teams meet the locals.
It was such a cute, special moment.
But it's not all smooth sailing.
He's trying to kill me!
This sea lion is looking for blood.
As the Sabotage creates
I don't think there's any way
for us to catch up.
..a mountain of trouble.
Big steps. Big steps.
And a race to the finish
This could be it.
We could be getting eliminated.
- Tell me how to get there.
- Stop! Stop! Stop!
We need to gun it.
..sends a favourite team home.
Your time on the race is over.
The Amazing Race Australia
Are you gonna get claustrophobic
down in the mine?
I think I have to do a nervous pee.
..in the moonscape mining
town of Coober Pedy
Oh, this is so bad-ass.
..a superhero-sized surprise
was revealed.
Give a big race welcome
to Stan and Wayne.
Oh, no!
They are two human hulks.
Get back on the train!
But they didn't frighten
the geek and the princess
Princesses can do anything.
"Drive to Crocodile Harry's to find
Beau at the next pit stop."
..who claimed their first victory.
Welcome to Coober Pedy.
Thank you so much!
- Are you Harry?
- Harry's dead.
Oh, no.
Tonight
Wha-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
..teams get a taste of Germany
This is gigantic.
- Bring it.
- Bring it in here.
..in the Adelaide Hills.
Das ist wunderbar.
- We're in Adelaide.
- Yoo!
- Oh, this is hectic!
- Can you hear me?!
But could last leg's winners
They're all running round like
chooks with their heads cut off.
No! No, Chris!
..go from hero
This is why I hate sport.
..to zero.
Last night, our teams jumped back
onto the iconic Ghan railway
and made the overnight trip south-east.
Now our nine teams have arrived
here in Adelaide,
South Australia's cosmopolitan capital.
A place known for its
food and wine culture
and the Fringe Festival.
It is the urban setting for the 11th
leg of the Amazing Race Australia.
Babe, go.
"Welcome to Adelaide,
city of churches."
"Make your way to
the famous Adelaide Oval."
Let's go.
The remaining nine teams are departing
in the order they arrived
at the previous pit stop.
- Thanks.
- Thank you so much.
They're heading to one of the most
well-known sporting grounds
in the country, Adelaide Oval, where
they'll receive their next clue.
Yoo!
We're in Adelaide!
- Yoo!
- Our home state.
Let's go the second one, baby,
'cause it's easier to get into.
So, last leg we finished first
for the first time
and we got a great cash prize.
OK.
Huge achievement and huge milestone.
Thank you very much.
Let's go. Let's go.
- Thank you.
- Thank you.
So, you know where you're going?
Yeah, to King William
and then left onto the War Memorial,
and then there should be
the parking bay just there.
Yeah.
It was a pretty big advantage for us
because MJ was born and bred
here in Adelaide.
This saves us time and we don't have
to stop and ask for directions,
or even buy a map.
Yeah, so home ground advantage
is definitely paying dividends
right now.
- It does in footy too!
- Yeah.
I'm keeping an eye
on the girls behind us.
So you actually think
they know where they're going.
I think they know where they're going.
We were very, very happy
getting started this morning,
but if you're up the front
of the pack, those nerves kick in.
OK, we'll lose the girls now
because they just got that light.
Oh, dude.
We have to stay at the top of the pack.
- Ooh.
- Uppy, mate.
Here we go again. City life again.
Buses, trams, trains,
people everywhere.
- Left here? Thank you, that's fine.
- Thank you!
I feel like we're at
quite a disadvantage
that MJ and Chelsea are here.
They know their way around.
That's the East Gate, so
we're coming up to the South Gate.
In this challenge,
each team must find their team photo
hidden on one of the 50,000 seats
around the Adelaide Oval.
One team member, the spotter,
will take the sky climb
up to the roof of the stadium,
and, using a map, will direct
the searcher, who's on the ground.
With limited space up top, teams will
only have 10-minute sessions
to find their picture
before they have to go
to the back to the queue.
Once successful,
teams will receive their next clue.
We arrived at Adelaide Oval
first. No-one else was in sight.
Here we are. Team SA.
Adelaide team. Let's do it.
Here we go.
- Alright, perfect. Who's decided
- I'm going to do the RoofClimb.
So I think you're much better
at spotting and attention to detail.
- So you'll be the spotter.
- Yep.
Yeah, I'll run it.
And you be the spotter.
Mate, I can spot us from a mile away.
It's easy to spot YOU from a mile away.
Oh, yeah.
I love Adelaide Oval.
It brings so many memories back.
The 2019 AFLW grand final.
We won a premiership
in front of 53,000 people.
Ah here it is.
That's me. There's Chels.
We really wanted to win today
and make our South Australian family
and our Adelaide Crows family
really proud of us.
- Hello.
- Hello.
OK.
I had a megaphone and some binoculars
and a map of the Adelaide Oval.
Oh, this is going to be hard in
10 minutes. She might have to run.
And MJ was down on the ground,
and she was searching basically
for this tiny photo.
The map had crosses on it,
but it only highlighted big sections.
It didn't show which seat or
whose photo was going to be there.
Oh, my God. How do I use this thing?
- Chels!
- Yeah!
- Can't work it!
- Where is the photo?
Can you hear me?
Number 6! Swap!
1! 2! 3! 4! 5! 6!
Oh.
Can you hear me?
Oh, that's much better.
We only have 10 minutes!
- No deal!
- No deal!
Head towards the scoreboard!
Run, Forrest, run!
I think in here.
- Hey, guys. Stan's going to the roof.
- Who's going
He's going to be the spotter.
I'm going to be the searcher.
Oh, it's heights? Is it heights?
- Do you want me to go?
- Yeah.
- OK.
- OK, then just take that.
- No, I was supposed to do the I
- I was going to do the running.
Soon as we got there, I saw these
harnesses and all this stuff.
And I was like, I don't want
to freak out and raise my cortisol
and potentially lose
some muscle tissue.
You right with heights then, big dog?
- Yeah, she'll be right.
- Perfect.
He's alright with heights
until he falls down.
- Who's going up on the roof today?
- Me.
- What's your name?
- Ashleigh.
Have fun! You get to go on the roof!
OK! Keep going!
You're going to have to go
to the third floor!
Sir Donald Bradman Pavilion!
Right at the top!
Three minutes!
She was just complaining to me about
how we didn't really get a chance
to do any cardio this morning.
Time!
We had 10 minutes to find it.
Anything?
No deal? Can't find it?
I've literally looked at every
single chair. There's nothing.
I haven't seen one photo
this whole time.
And then you had to go
to the back of the queue.
So we have to wait our turn.
I just want to get back out there.
I've run the whole stadium.
I've run all the way around.
I've run up four flights of stairs
No, more than four flights of stairs.
I've looked in all the bays.
Every single red marker
that Chels told me, I looked in.
Nothing. Not one.
- You can come up here
- Wow.
Oh, this is hectic. This is cool.
I was up there with
Anurag and Wayne, the new guy.
I felt very bad-ass in my costume.
OK, the second section there
on your left.
The red second section stand!
Keep going! Check the Chappell Stand!
There is 50,000 seats
in this stadium,
so people are running around like
chooks with their heads cut off.
- Anurag, how do I get up?
- Just run through!
It's just I don't know.
It's anyone's game right now.
All the way up to the green section!
So, it's in that direction,
right, baby?
I I-I don't know, babe.
Anybody that you see
and it's safe to pull up
- Yeah.
- Like this lady.
- No, there's nowhere to pull up.
- Right in front of her.
Like, you've just got to be
a bit bolder about, like,
just feeling confident to stop,
you know?
- We were really confused and, um
- I think we were just a bit frazzled.
We got extremely lost
on our way to Adelaide Oval.
So, I'll be the spotter.
I'll be the spotter. I'll go up.
Here, babe.
Help me wriggle on into this.
- Ooh! It's like a giant nappy.
- Yeah.
- Snazzy.
- Who's going up on the roof? You?
- She's going on the roof. Yeah.
- I am. Yep.
- I'm surprised you're not doing it.
- You're surprised?
- Heights are your thing, right?
- You're surprised?
No, thank you.
Wayne!
I can't see any photos
in that one. Head to the next
Because there's limited space
on the roof,
they've merged us
with two different teams up there.
And the microphones
are just going bonkers.
Come back down! Come back down!
Come down!
Anurag's voice was just confusing.
I hear 'stop', I hear 'run'.
Which one is Anurag telling me?
All that section!
Good work, bro! Keep it up!
These guys are still looking, which
means they haven't found it either.
So that's buys us time.
To your left!
The bay to your left!
Yeah, that one! Check that one!
Got nothing. That's a nightmare.
There are so many
seats in this stadium.
This is a really, really hard task.
I was so stressed.
We're going to be last place.
- We could be going the wrong way.
- I know.
Then maybe get into the right lane
so we could pull into an
actual shop or something.
I want to pull in here.
There's just, like, not many
people to ask, you know?
Do you see anyone?
There's guys up there. Look.
- There's guys
- All the way up there?
- We have to, baby, 'cause we
- No, no, no. Get back in.
- We're going.
- Let's ask them where.
- We're getting out.
- No, no, get in.
- Baby Baby
- Come on
Aleisha, we have to get directions.
This is not the place
to get directions, Chris.
- It is. There's someone right here.
- Fine.
- This isn't
- Baby, baby, wait, wait.
Excuse me! Are we able to ask you
for directions?
Even if you could Google it for us.
Thank you.
It was a long way away.
So we knew we were last at that point.
Yep! That one,
to your left! Left, left! That one!
Alright. Do Chappell Stand.
I feel like I just looked over
at least 500 seats.
I went through
so many different sections.
Search all! Everything!
All that section there!
I found a picture
of Jordan and Violeta.
I didn't tell them because we wanted
to get out of the challenge first.
Down the other side of the block.
What's that? What did you find?
I found MJ and Chelsea's photo.
Wayne. Where's the other one?
Voss William, on the opposite side!
- Up those stairs!
- Where are you going?
Yes! I found it!
You got it?
I found it!
I feel like we're gonna be here
all day.
Oh, my God. We did so well. OK.
We found it! We found it!
- Thank you, thank you!
- OK, let's go, let's go, let's go.
Quick, quick, quick!
- Detour.
- Yoo!
We love a good detour.
Slap or Snag.
A detour is a choice
between two challenges,
each with its own pros and cons.
And this one will take place
in the town of Hahndorf
on the outskirts of Adelaide,
which is home to our oldest surviving
German settlement.
In this detour, teams must
choose between Slap or Snag.
The teams that choose Slap must come
and don a lederhosen
and learn the world-famous slap dance.
If it's performed correctly
..they'll receive their next clue.
Or our teams can choose Snag
and come down to the Hahndorf Inn
and eat a complete wurst platter,
which is essentially
a plateful of German sausages.
When they eat the whole plate,
they'll receive the next clue.
Yum.
- Let's Let's do the dance.
- Fine, let's go.
Found the yellow team,
the girls' photo.
Chelsea and MJ.
So
Now it's whether I share it or not.
She's next up.
I decided to let her know,
just because I think this is
a full-on challenge
and I'd be so grateful
if someone helped US out.
There's $250,000 on the line.
There's your character,
your credibility.
I'd rather be a really good human
than a really rich one.
But I'd like to be both.
Chelsea!
Got it!
Is that us?
Yeah! It's us!
That's it. That's it.
That feels good.
I think I'll get the favour
returned one day.
I really do believe in good karma
and coming back to you full circle.
We're the last team, babe.
- We have to refocus.
- I know.
We have been a mess.
I know! I don't know what
I can do differently.
- We've got to do this.
- Alright, let's go.
I know. You know me. I'll switch on.
You need to go up behind the stands, V.
Got it!
Good girl. Well done.
That's it. Good job.
Friggin hell.
Well done, mate.
Well done.
What's that?
Thanks.
Is you.
OK.
That good karma literally just
came straight back in my face.
Like, MJ actually had found ours,
I think, and she just told me bay 6.
- Good job!
- Yay!
- Well done.
- That was so hard.
Here we go.
- Congratulations, girls.
- Thank you very much.
Thank you! Awesome.
Alright, let's go.
- Congratulations.
- Perfect, thank you so much!
Thank you.
Thanks so much,
guys. Beautiful. Let's go.
Wow. Horrible rip.
There it is.
- Where are we going?
- Detour.
Detour.
- Slap or Snag. Ooh.
- Do you want to eat?
- I want to eat a snag.
- Let's do it. It's huge, though.
- I'm hungry. Let's go.
- Alright, let's go.
- Slap. Surely. Dancing.
- Yeah, let's do it.
Good boy! Keep going!
Straight, straight, straight!
Up to the top! The very top!
No! No!
We were dead last so we had to get
this right to catch up.
OK, you're down there.
You're on the wrong stairs.
Up another two levels.
All the way up! Up, up, up!
Time's up.
I think we're the first team here.
Alright, let's go. Changing area.
Let's do this.
We had the cutest little outfits on.
Honestly.
The suspenders, the socks,
the booty pants.
We love a good dress-up.
We walk in and the guy said, "We're
gonna demonstrate the dance for you."
It's like, oh, my gosh,
there's a lot of things happening
with the slapping and the feet
and the kicking.
You can tell there's a distinct
male and a female part.
Alright, who of you is gonna be the
male and who's gonna be the female?
- I'll be the male.
- You'll be the male. OK, fantastic.
We're gonna be here for hours.
- Let's go.
- Let's go.
Here, here.
Oh, surely not.
Are you kidding?
We see Jordan and Violeta.
They're ballroom dancers.
This is way up their alley.
Oh, my God.
Jordan, easy as!
I was like, how are we gonna do this?
Right foot, left foot.
One, two, three, four.
Let's do it.
This is gonna be huge.
It's gonna be, like, a metre long.
- Wait, are you serious?
- No, I'm serious.
Are you ready? Just, like, chow down.
- Good luck.
- Whoo. Alright.
Everything. You ready?
I was really excited to eat
because I was quite hungry.
When it came out,
I was a little bit shocked.
This is gigantic!
I'm not sure
if I'm a huge fan of big sausages.
- It's a lot to take in.
- Twice. Two circles.
Right. Right.
One, two, three, four. Ah! Two, three.
Ah, man, I keep doing it wrong.
Two, four, five. Wrong foot.
- You nearly got it!
- Nearly.
Jordan's part was much harder
than my part.
- Listen to the rhythm, though.
- I'm trying. I'm trying, yeah, I am.
Two, three, four, five, six.
Ahh!
I hit it with the wrong hand.
Yeah, it's tough.
It's tough.
Not ballroom dancing.
- Yeah!
- I got it!
- Congratulations, boys.
- Thanks, mate. Thanks heaps.
Detour. Slap or Snag.
- Eating, for sure.
- Let's go. Let's do it.
Yep. Check that bay. Check that one.
Everything properly.
Yes! Whoo! Yeah!
You got it?
Well done!
Stop! That one! Check that whole bay!
Grouse.
- Yeah!
- Yes.
Found it?
Yeah, found it!
Got it!
- Great work. Great work.
- Nice one, bro.
- Well done, guys.
- Thanks, man. Appreciate it.
I'm proud of you.
- Thank you.
- Thank you.
- Cheers, mate.
- Legend.
- Snag?
- Snag.
Snag. Every time.
- Let's do Snag.
- Let's do Snag.
- Slap with this?
- Yep, Slap.
- Slap or Snag?
- Snag. Done.
Are you hungry?
Mate, I'm a huge fan of German food.
An even bigger fan of protein.
So this is the best one.
This is the best challenge for us yet.
Das ist wunderbar!
Wunderbar!
Next level, babe!
I can't believe that we started
in first place and now we're last.
Teams are going to be well ahead of us.
It seemed absolutely impossible
to find it.
Please, please go faster.
Hey, guys.
Sprechen Sie Deutsch?
Snag or Slap was next.
It was an easy decision for us.
Yeah, bring it!
We love eating.
You didn't even use your cutlery.
Chelsea, why did we do this?
We should have just danced.
It felt like we were eating
those snags for hours.
And at the same time we're watching
everyone who's doing the slaps dance,
they're performing
right in front of us.
Yoo-hoo!
OK. Thank you.
I think I stuffed the start.
I was doing legs the wrong way
and then we didn't do
the two twirls properly.
Yaoowww!
- Well done, guys.
- Yes! Thank you very much.
Thank you!
We were really happy
that we were able to overtake
Amanda and Ashleigh.
Alright.
Can we keep these or?
Come on. We're nearly there.
Finish mine.
Yep!
- Ohh! Yes.
- Thanks, legend.
- Thank you very much.
- Thanks, mate.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Oh, my gosh. I feel sick.
Roadblock.
A Roadblock is a challenge that
only one team member can perform
based on a cryptic clue.
Who's the most graceful?
You.
- Should I do it?
- You can do it.
I'll do it.
With over 500 churches
representing 30 religions,
Adelaide is known
as the City of Churches.
This Roadblock will see one team
member perform
with the Amazing Grace
Gospel Church Choir.
They will learn the song
in the African language Swahili.
Then they must take to the stage
and lead the choir correctly
to earn their next clue.
"Sing your heart out on stage
and earn your next clue."
- Oh, yeah!
- Let's go.
Hoo!
Quick, baby!
There might only be one minute left!
Quick, quick!
We had taken so long.
The challenge was about to
hit its time limit.
Is that a whistle to come in?
Time's up.
Sorry, guys.
This location is now closed.
You did not find your group photo
and there will be a time penalty.
OK.
Thank you.
That's why I hate sport.
We got a time penalty which we have
to be served on a mat at pit stop.
Let's get the heck
Sorry, baby. I know.
I'm just frustrated.
Alright, good.
Thank you!
Whoo-hoo!
Thank you.
They slap a few snags
down in front of us. Let's go.
Everything edible.
Mate, you've got to be kidding.
I think I had, like, three mouthfuls
and I was like, "This is horrible."
Alright.
That's it.
Easy, easy.
One, two, three, four, five, six.
One, two
Yeah, Dolor's a great dancer.
Whenever we're in the club,
people always want to film him,
want to watch him dance.
One, two, three, four, five, six.
Two, three. So, OK, wait
I got confused there.
Go from the top again.
OK, this time We got this.
We failed on the first attempt.
We went back and rehearsed again.
Yahoo!
Yes!
And then we nailed it.
OK, let's go.
Oh, Roadblock.
- I'll do it.
- OK, yeah.
- Let's go.
- OK.
Game time, Dolor.
This way?
Yahoo-oo-oo-oo-ooh!
- Well done.
- Yeah!
Thank you, thank you.
We only had one attempt
and we passed straight away.
"Who's the most graceful?"
- You are.
- Me.
Oh! Quickly!
We were
first to arrive at the church,
but MJ and Chelsea were behind us.
I'm not a very good singer.
Can you teach me?
- We'll try.
- You'll try? OK.
It's not just singing -
I have to learn a song
in a completely different language.
It's not up my alley at all.
"Da-ni".
- "Too-na-ra-ha".
- Yes.
- "Mm"
- "Por"
"Por. Ya-soo."
- OK.
- You can do it.
I hope so. OK.
Alright, let's do this one again
and then we do that one
and then we put it together.
Ah, you're getting there.
- Take that one.
- I'm going.
I'm still chewing the last one.
- You right?
- Mm.
- Going good.
- Good!
It wasn't a Bunnings sausage sizzle,
I can tell you that.
No, definitely not. They definitely
weren't Aussie snags.
Shut up.
We're nearly done.
Alright.
That was probably just,
like, entree for them.
- Well done.
- Yes!
Das ist wunderbar.
Pretty sure I seen Stan have,
like, three extra snags
and stick 'em in his pocket
on the way out.
Um
- Bit of protein.
- Yeah.
Not gonna be able to eat all that.
You're gonna have to, bro.
Yeah, jeez, I was chockers.
Do you wanna change?
- You're kidding me, aren't you?
- I'm asking you.
Check, please.
- Well done, boys.
- Too easy. Let's go.
All the other teams were leaving.
Can we get a check, please?
- Wunderbar.
- Thank you very much.
That was it.
- You're not gonna finish?
- Nope. I'm out.
We decided to switch the detour
at this point.
We just had to hope
that changing detours this late
wouldn't cost us the race.
- OK, let's go.
- Let's go.
So, when we arrived at the church,
we see MJ and Chelsea
and Violeta and Jordan
already learning the song.
This doesn't sound like English.
- It's hard, it's hard, it's hard.
- You're doing such a good job!
MJ's doing a really good job.
No-one's had an attempt yet.
I'm hoping MJ has a crack.
Alright! Let's do it.
One, two, three.
I saw Chelsea in the watching,
and she was just like this,
cringing, like,
"Ohh, I can't listen to this."
- I literally saw that! On stage.
- No!
How do you think that makes me feel?
No!
I tried.
I wasn't very good, but I tried.
How did I stuff it up after that?
Brendon went in. He had the easy job.
All I had to do was just have
the hands on the hips
and one, two, one, two.
Swish!
In here?
Oh, the boys are still learning.
We got
a little bit of hope back
when we saw Brendon and Jackson
still dancing.
So we thought
we had a little bit of a shot here.
I quickly noticed that the male part
was super hard.
- I think I should do that one.
- You should do that one, yeah!
- I'll be the girl.
- I'm the male, please. Yes.
Turn, turn, and turn.
One, two, three, four, five, six.
One, two, three, four, five, six.
That's the fastest learner
I have seen so far.
Oh, thank you!
I don't sing, I'm not good at rhythm,
I'm not good at remembering
all the different words.
It was in Swahili, so
..that just made it even worse.
I'm sorry. I'm taking so long.
I'm sorry.
Go give it an attempt.
- Give it an attempt?
- Yeah.
I was getting a bit stressed
and flustered
because we heard other people singing.
Yes.
I did not think that a singing choir
challenge would break me,
but I was terrified.
One more time, one more time.
Give me one more time.
One, two, three, go.
She absolutely nailed it
and we came out of there first!
Whoo!
OK. "Make your way to
the Trinity Church for your pit stop.
"Hurry - the last team to arrive
may be eliminated." Let's go.
Here in Adelaide,
there are magnificent churches
and cathedrals around every corner.
And Trinity Church, right behind me,
was the very first ever built,
back in 1838, making it the oldest
church in South Australia.
And it's the pit stop for the 11th
leg of The Amazing Race Australia.
- So it's gonna be on the left?
- It's gonna be on the left.
- Holy Trinity Church.
- I DO know where that church is! Yes!
I know where the church is.
It's on the corner. Yes.
- We wanna get to the pit stop first.
- Our home town.
Our home leg.
Hopefully come in first place and,
you know, make our state proud.
One, two, three,
four, five, six. One, two, three.
Yeah, so we learnt the dance
and thought,
"Righto, let's just go in there
and get it done."
Thanks, mate.
I wish we'd picked the dance
from the start.
Yee-hoo!
'Cause that was the best fun
that we've had. 100%.
You beauty!
- Thanks, mate.
- Thanks, matey!
We left second-last, a little behind,
but Chris and Aleisha were
still there as we were going.
Who's the most graceful?
You are?
Yee-hoo!
Yes! Thank you so much.
Good job, baby. Really good job.
We did pretty good at that challenge,
actually.
This is an opportunity
to get out of last place.
- Think we might be out.
- What do you mean? It's good.
"Who's the most graceful?"
You're the most graceful.
But it might not be that.
What else could 'grace' be?
I thought if he chose
the most graceful person,
it's gonna be the opposite of that.
- I mean, it's you, right?
- Want me to do it?
"Join the choir
at the Amazing Grace Gospel Church.
"Sing your heart out onstage
to earn"
- I'm so sorry.
- OK, let's go.
That one should have been me.
I'm a singer.
I can't believe I'm not doing this.
"Find the Amazing Grace Gospel Church
in Mitchell Street."
We were on the way to the Roadblock.
Yeah, we're horrible with directions.
- That's alright. Thank you.
- That's OK. Thanks, mate.
Trying to get to Devon Park.
Excuse me, excuse me. Excuse me.
Please. Please, please.
We didn't know some of the other
teams were behind us at that point.
- I'm so nervous.
- Don't worry.
There's nothing to be nervous
about. We can stay here all night.
OK.
We're sitting in third
and I'm thinking we're gonna be
in last any minute now.
Let's go.
- Do you want me to give it a go?
- It's up to you.
That last one was perfect.
Just back yourself.
Like, you've got this.
Oh, I'm so proud of you!
- I was so nervy!
- You did so well.
"Make your way to the Trinity
Church for your pit stop."
- Let's go.
- Let's go.
OK, I'll give it a go.
I am a little bit frustrated that
I was such a perfectionist with it,
because it meant that Amanda
went before me and had her go.
That was excellent!
"Hurry to Trinity Church
for your pit stop."
- OK, let's go.
- Let's go.
- Look - flags.
- Flags? Where?
- See it? Right in front of you.
- Oh, yeah. OK.
OK, let's go.
There's the flags. Let's go.
OK.
- Welcome to Adelaide!
- Thank you!
It's great to be home.
MJ and Chelsea,
you are first team to check in.
Whoo! Boy, I've got
a lot of sausage in me.
- Yeah. Home ground advantage or what?
- Yeah. Massive. Massive advantage.
Also got a little surprise.
You have also won a First Class Pass.
- You know what that means?
- We do. Thank you so much, mate.
Day off, and you cannot get eliminated.
OK.
But you'll be waiting with me,
probably all night,
to serve a Salvage and a Sabotage
to the final two teams who check in.
Choose wisely. Get thinking, girls.
- Well done.
- Thank you.
- Well done.
- Thanks so much. Thanks, guys.
Thank you. I'll be back.
Look out.
Sounds like a party.
Aleisha, Aleisha, Aleisha, Aleisha.
Aleisha, don't worry about that.
- Can you help me put this on?
- Yep, yep.
OK. Gonna learn it as fast as possible.
This is an Aleisha challenge, and
we can't change. It's too late now.
Oh, that's hard.
- You ready?
- No.
Oh!
It's not easy at all.
I don't know how on earth
Chris is gonna do this.
Can we do the first bit again?
Yes!
Whoo!
Good luck, guys.
Macy Gray's Gospel Church.
Please, someone.
- Oh
- Oh, stop!
- Mitchell Street?
- No.
- What?
- DAVOREN Park, not Devon.
Oh, far out!
Oh, that was the worst. We're
falling further and further behind.
Oh, my goodness, Wayne!
Davoren Park.
- We got this far to go.
- Argghh!
Alright, where are we now?
- We are here.
- Oh, my gosh!
We gotta go all the way up here.
That's our map after today's race.
Not tu-nara - tu-nara-ha.
I just saw
the stowaways come in,
so, they are the last team here.
We have a penalty, unfortunately.
But if he can do this really quick,
we might be OK.
Can I just try it once
while there's no-one in line?
- OK.
- Yeah.
And then I might come back.
I just want to try it once. Yeah.
- Alright.
- Thank you so much.
Focus, focus, focus, yeah?
- Right here?
- Yeah, baby.
- Ahhhhhhhh!
- That's OK. It's alright.
The first attempt
I got a little bit of stage fright.
And I jump up on stage and there's
a huge choir there behind me
and I just forgot the words.
I know it. I know it all.
- You need to trust yourself more.
- OK. Yeah. Yeah.
Thank you.
"Make your way to the Trinity Church
for your pit stop."
Let's go!
Jordan and Violeta,
you are second team to check in.
- Yes!
- Good work.
Nice job.
- Monster effort again.
- Yeah.
- Today was our leg.
- It was our leg.
This is the highest that we've been
all race.
We feel like we've worked
hard to be in second place.
- I'll see you tomorrow.
- Thanks very much.
Thank you, Beau.
Yoo!
Whoo!
- Welcome to Adelaide.
- Thank you.
Ashleigh and Amanda,
- you are the third team to check in.
- Yes!
- Congratulations. Well done.
- Thanks.
- Thanks so much.
- Thank you.
- That's good.
- Oh, thank you.
It's a mouthful.
Let's do it. Let's do it. Let's do it.
There were teams
just about to finish.
He knew he had to hurry.
A little bit more practice.
I'll be back soon, guys.
- OK, can we go from the top?
- OK.
We have no idea how long our time
penalty was going to be on the mat.
We just had to finish to avoid
being in last position.
You know it, baby.
I think I wanna try again. Yeah.
One, two, three, go.
Thank you!
Oh, my God, I love you.
"Make your way to the Trinity Church.
"Hurry! The last team to arrive
may be eliminated."
Cowboys and Bodybuilders
were still there.
We've got a time penalty,
but we've still got a chance
to avoid bottom place.
- Floor it.
- You didn't give me a clue or anything.
I gave you the clue, babe.
No, you didn't.
You just handed me the envelope.
No, I gave you the clue first.
Oh, sorry, you're right.
I'm sorry, you're right.
- I'll start driving, alright?
- Yep. Deal.
Coming in first, we're having to
give out a Sabotage and a Salvage.
But we didn't know who was
gonna be the bottom two.
Holly and Dolor, you are
the fourth team to check in.
Yes!
More and more teams were rocking up,
so our initial conversation
on who we would save,
it was really just waiting to see
who's coming in last.
Jaskirat and Anurag, you are
the fifth team to check in.
Yeah!
Whoo!
- OK, we're turning right?
- And then we will be turning right.
Exactly.
- Oh, here, here, look.
- Yes. Oh, my God. Yes.
Can we just park anywhere in here?
That's so annoying.
- That's in?
- Yeah.
- Oh, that's Skye-Blue back there.
- Oh.
I'm gonna take the stairs.
Out of the car park,
Skye-Blue and Jake ran past us.
Skye-Blue and Jake, you are
..the sixth team to check in.
- Sixth. OK.
- Sixth.
- That's all that matters, eh? Wow.
- Hi, guys.
Welcome to Adelaide.
- Thanks for having us.
- Thank you.
Chris and Aleisha, you are
..the seventh team to arrive.
That's good. We're still here.
However, you will serve
a 20-minute penalty
for not finishing a challenge.
So please wait behind our girls.
We're still in it, baby.
We started in first place
at the start of this leg.
Now we are in one of the
bottom positions.
Doesn't feel good.
- Let's go, let's go, let's go back.
- We'll go back.
Breathe. Your mind is here?
You're all good, mate.
We kind of knew that we were
falling behind a fair bit.
One, two, three, go.
Too quick. Way, way too quick.
Righto.
Yeah, I was getting a little bit
frustrated there.
Ka-ni-yeh
- So you want to go inside? Good.
- Yes, I think I'm ready to go.
The cowboys were still there.
We can make some ground up.
Whoo!
"Make your way to the
Trinity Church"
Oh, yes. Go, bro. We're still ahead.
I just wanted to get that challenge done
because it was just driving me insane.
- OK.
- Go. You're good. Let's do it.
One, two, three, go.
Whoo-hoo!
I nailed it. They nearly gave me
a full-time job with them.
"Pit stop. Hurry! The last team to
arrive may be eliminated." Let's go.
Stan and Wayne were just in front of
us so we knew we still had a chance.
- Ah, we might get there.
- Don't give up hope, brother.
We actually came onto the mat
in seventh place
and Beau said we had
a 20-minute time penalty.
There's just a lot of odds
against us right now and
..we were feeling very uneasy.
- The Cowboys are right behind us.
- That's right.
- It's us against them now in the race.
- Yeah, yeah.
Keep an eye out for the colours.
Car park The Terrace!
Here it is, bro.
Up here. Go, go, go, go.
Car park. Whoo. That's it there.
- You're joking.
- No.
Up here, look. There's one here.
There's one here.
20 minutes probably feels like
a bloody lifetime.
- Here we go.
- You gonna do a U-ey?
- Yeah.
- Good job.
Pass it over here.
- Where's the stairs?
- Let's go.
Come on, bro.
Boys. Stan and Wayne,
you are the eighth team to arrive,
but the seventh team to check in.
- Yeah, good. Yes.
- What a relief.
I thought we were dead last.
Because we had that 20-minute time
penalty, they got to go ahead of us.
You got lost a bit today, huh?
- We went to a different town.
- We went to a different suburb.
Yeah.
The German food took
our blood down to our guts.
Yeah, and these things
didn't work anymore.
Yeah, anyway
But you're still in. Go rest
and recover. I'll see you soon.
- Big boys, eh? Strong, eh.
- Yeah, they are.
Chris and Aleisha,
please step back on the mat.
You have served your penalty,
and although you were
the seventh team to arrive,
you are the eighth team to check in.
And because you were second last,
please remain on the mat.
OK.
So we had Chris and Aleisha,
and Brendo and Jacko to choose from.
It's a really difficult spot to be in.
Brendon and Jackson.
You are
..the last team to check in.
Well, boys, this is a predetermined
non-elimination leg.
However, because you are one of
the final two teams to check in,
you will be served
with either a Salvage,
which is a massive advantage,
and a Sabotage,
which will severely slow you down.
MJ and Chelsea,
who would you like to sabotage?
I'm pretty certain that we're gonna
get a Salvage from MJ and Chelsea.
We've gotten on pretty well
with them, we quite like them,
they quite like us.
Love these guys, but they have been
one of the best teams
and the most consistent.
So, we're gonna sabotage
Chris and Aleisha.
Really sorry.
That was a huge shock.
We'd been struggling a lot
and we had just really one good leg
and the girls happened to be there
to see it and
Yeah, this is gonna hurt us a lot,
actually.
It's pretty hard to know
who to trust in this race.
At the moment it kind of feels like
every other team are against us.
We're very thankful.
It's not an easy decision,
it's part of the game,
but we're so grateful for youse
doing it. Thank you so much.
We all live to fight another day.
It is gonna be tough.
But if anyone can overcome it,
it's you guys.
Go rest and recover
and I'll see you soon.
Next time on
The Amazing Race Australia,
in the seaside town of Port Lincoln
That's amazing.
..teams meet the locals.
It was such a cute, special moment.
But it's not all smooth sailing.
He's trying to kill me!
This sea lion is looking for blood.
As the Sabotage creates
I don't think there's any way
for us to catch up.
..a mountain of trouble.
Big steps. Big steps.
And a race to the finish
This could be it.
We could be getting eliminated.
- Tell me how to get there.
- Stop! Stop! Stop!
We need to gun it.
..sends a favourite team home.
Your time on the race is over.
