IN 1820, 1854, AND 1876, THEY HAD THREE DIFFEREN YELLOW FEVER EPIDEMICS WITH THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE DYING EACH TIME.
ALSO, THEY HAD A GREAT FIRE IN 1820 WHICH DESTROYED HALF OF THE CITY.
IN THE LATE 1700s, THEY HAD TO PAVE OVER THE CEMETERIES TO EXPAND THE CITIES.
THEY MOVED ALL THE HEADSTONES, BUT THEY LEFT THE BODIES BECAUSE THEY WERE WORRIED ABOU DIGGING UP COMMUNICABLE DISEASES SUCH AS YELLOW FEVER.
SO, IN DOWNTOWN SAVANNAH, THERE'S LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF BODIES UNDER A LOT OF THE BUILDINGS.

WE CONTACTED THE SAVANNAH THEATRE, 'CAUSE ME AND A COUPLE OF THE OTHER GUYS ON THE TEAM HEARD THEY'D HAD A LOT OF ACTIVITY.
DRU'S BEEN THE HOUSE MANAGER FOR CLOSE TO 20 YEARS.

BEFORE I BECAME THE HOUSE MANAGER FOR SAVANNAH THEATRE, I RAN A SPOTLIGHT FOR TWO YEARS.

YOU KNOW, YOU'RE PROGRESSIVELY PICKING UP PARANORMAL ACTIVITY.
Sherwood: THERE ARE TIMES WHEN IT JUST FEELS LIKE THEY DON'T WANT YOU DOWN THERE, SO I LITERALLY DON'T GO DOWN IN THE BASEMENT.
Lee: WITH ALL THE INVESTIGATIONS WE DO, THE FIRST THING WE OPERATE IS A BASELINE TEST.
SO, WE PUT AN I.

CAMERA INTO THE BASEMENT AREA, SET UP SOME TRIGGER OBJECTS.
I PLACED THREE SETS OF PLAYING CARDS IN A ROW, ALL STACKED UP LIKE PYRAMIDS.
Sherwood: THEN YOU CAN ASK THE SPIRITS TO KNOCK THEM OVER.
SO, THEY SET THIS UP, AND THEY HAD CAMERAS ON IT.
NOW, THERE'S NO VENTS DOWN THERE.
THERE'S NO AIR FLOW.
DOOR'S SHUT.
IT'S DARK, AND NOBODY'S MOVING.
AND THEY ASKED THE SPIRITS TO KNOCK THE CARDS OVER.
AND THEY WENT POOF.
THEY JUST WENT RIGHT OVER.
WE ALL JUST KIND OF STOPPED IN OUR TRACKS LIKE, "OKAY, WHOA.
THEY ACTUALLY DID THAT, AND WE HAVE IT ON CAMERA.
" Lee: TO ACTIVELY SEE OBJECTS BEING PUSHED OVER, THAT WAS PRETTY INCREDIBLE.
Sherwood: IT WAS PRETTY MUCH PROOF THAT THERE'S SOMEBODY THERE.
THAT'S SCARY.
THERE'S ANOTHER SPIRI CALLED ELIZABETH OR LIZZY, AND I'VE SEEN HER TWICE, ONCE ON THE MAIN FLOOR AND ONCE DOWNSTAIRS.
SHE'S A VICTORIAN WOMAN IN THE WHITE DRESS.
AND ONE DAY, I TOOK A PICTURE OF SOME ANTIQUE FURNITURE IN THE STORE, AND I POSTED THE PICTURE ONLINE.
AND A FRIEND OF MINE CALLED ME AND SAID, "OH, MY GOSH.
DID YOU SEE WHAT'S IN THA PICTURE THAT YOU JUST POSTED?" AND I SAID, "NO, WHY?" SHE SAID, "THERE'S A VICTORIAN WOMAN IN A WHITE DRESS IN THIS PICTURE.
" SO, I LOOKED AT THE PHOTO I TOOK.
AND IN THE REFLECTION OF SOME GLASS, YOU CAN SEE A VICTORIAN WOMAN HOLDING A CAT.
I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK.
SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN STANDING NEXT TO ME WHEN I TOOK THE PICTURE.
Lee: AS A HISTORIAN, ONE OF THE THINGS THAT INTERESTED ME WAS WHEN I DID MORE RESEARCH AND I WENT TO THE LOCAL CEMETERY, I ACTUALLY DISCOVERED THAT PAUL HANSON, WHO'S DON HANSON'S FATHER, ORIGINALLY RAN THE PHARMACY -- HIS WIFE WAS CALLED ELIZABETH EMERSON, AND SHE WAS KNOWN AS LIZZY.
I FOUND A PHOTOGRAPH FROM THE 1890s THAT SHOWS LIZZY WEARING THE WHITE VICTORIAN DRESS THAT BARBARA HAD SEEN THIS LADY WANDERING THROUGH THE SHOP.
Sherwood: I THINK ELIZABETH, OR LIZZY, IS CHECKING UP ON ME.
THERE'S MAYBE A KINSHIP BECAUSE WE'RE BOTH WOMEN.
I'M MANAGING A STORE.
SHE WAS MARRIED TO THE MAN WHO BUILT IT.
SO, MAYBE SHE IS CHECKING UP ON ME AND JUST MAKING SURE THAT I'M DOING OKAY.
Lee: IN THE ANTIQUES SECTION OF THE SHOP, THERE'S A VERY CREEPY-LOOKING, CHINA, VICTORIAN DOLL.
Sherwood: I FIRST THOUGH SOMETHING WAS UP WITH ANNABEL WHEN I CAME IN ONE MORNING AND HER ARM WAS UP.
AND I DIDN'T REMEMBER IT BEING THAT WAY THE NIGHT BEFORE.
I THOUGHT, "OKAY, I'LL PUT THE ARM BACK DOWN.
" AND THAT NIGHT, I MADE SURE THAT I KNEW EXACTLY WHAT POSITION SHE WAS IN WHEN I LEFT.
BOTH HER ARMS WERE DOWN, AND SHE WAS LOOKING STRAIGHT AHEAD.
AND THE NEXT MORNING, I COME IN, AND THAT LITTLE ARM WAS BACK UP AGAIN.
NOW, SHE'S ALMOST 100 YEARS OLD, AND HER ARMS ARE HARD TO MOVE, SO IT'S NOT LIKE IT JUS POPPED UP ALL BY ITSELF.
Lee: I'VE DONE LOTS OF TESTS ON THE DOLL.
I'VE PUT EMF METERS AROUND HER.
I HAVE USED EVPs.
I'VE SET UP AUDIO EQUIPMEN AROUND HER.
I DON'T BELIEVE THAT SHE'S ACTUALLY POSSESSED OR HAUNTED OR HAS ANY ATTACHMENTS IN ANY WAY.
WHAT I ACTUALLY BELIEVE IS THAT THERE'S CHILDREN IN AND AMONGST THE SHOP.
IF YOU WERE A VICTORIAN CHILD AND YOU'RE IN SPIRI AND YOU'RE IN AN ANTIQUES SHOP AND YOU SEE A DOLL SAT THERE, YOU WANT TO INTERACT WITH THAT.
Sherwood: SO, SOMEBODY, SOME LITTLE CHILD SPIRIT, WAS OBVIOUSLY PLAYING WITH HER.
THIS WHOLE EXPERIENCE HAS CHANGED MY LIFE.
I'VE SEEN MANY THINGS.
I'VE HEARD THINGS.
IT'S AMAZING BECAUSE NOW I KNOW THERE'S SOMETHING ELSE OTHER THAN WHAT WE ARE RIGHT NOW, THAT IT'S OKAY TO GO TO THE OTHER SIDE.
IT DOESN'T JUST END.
Lee: THIS EXPERIENCE FOR ME AT THE ANTIQUE SHOP HAS TOUCHED ME VERY PERSONALLY BECAUSE YOU'RE GETTING CONTAC WITH INDIVIDUALS THAT LIVE THERE, THAT WORK THERE.
YOU DON'T OFTEN GET A CHANCE TO DO THAT.
Sherwood: I ACTUALLY ENJOY BEING IN THAT BUILDING, AND I ENJOY THE COMPANY EVEN IF I CAN'T SEE THEM.
