Help! My House Is Haunted (2018) s06e04 Episode Script

House on the Hill

You are not welcome.
I want you to go.
Help me, help me, please.
Across the UK
Woah.
What the..?
Did you hear that?
Oh, my god!
..terrified homeowners are being
plagued by the paranormal.
I can see you.
I am scared to death.
I need to know, am I safe?
Thankfully,
there are three people
What was that?
I've got goosebumps.
No, I'm not going to get out.
Oh, my god. Ian, don't leave me.
..who will stop at nothing
Someone's behind me.
Who's here with us?
Ahh!
What the hell was that?
..to return our homes
Can you just take the emotion
away from Jayne, please?
Two spirit forms.
Barri, you're scaring me.
Right next to you.
..back to the land of the living.
This is like a horror movie,
isn't it?
I feel quite anxious
about this one today, guys.
Why do you think that is?
Is that something
you're picking up
from the spirits that are there?
I just feel confused,
so I don't know
whether it's going to be
quite confusing for me.
Hello?
In this investigation
Ah!
..a family in fear
There's that feeling
of you're being watched,
and it's something
that doesn't like you.
..and a ghostly love story
"Wife." So we've had "husband"
and "wife."
..as sinister spirits
Whoa!
What happened?
Something brushed past me.
..torment our team.
Can you walk towards him, please?
Whoa!
I'm quite excited about this
case.
There's potential
for some really good evidence.
I mean, for me, purely just
from a historical point of view,
I love the history
behind where this house is.
Barri and Jayne have both
seen case notes,
but medium Ian insists
on being told nothing in advance,
to ensure it's only his
psychic guide that informs him.
I'm getting this image, guys,
of this man on a crutch.
What type of crutch? To hold him
up?
Yeah, a wooden crutch.
He's obviously
got something wrong with his leg.
Our experts have been called in
to investigate
this isolated farmhouse,
which is home
to forensic scientist Sam
and her partner Jim,
a former police officer
turned lawyer.
I don't believe a great deal
in inference,
er, supposition,
possiblys, maybes or otherwise.
It's fact.
My whole career has been based
about being logical.
I don't think I could do
the job I do if I wasn't.
I do believe this house is
haunted.
I never believed in
the paranormal until I moved here.
When I first set eyes on the
place,
I immediately fell in love
with the premises.
We were like,
"Wow, that's a lovely house,"
and as we drove in,
we pretty much decided
that this was a house for us.
Clearly it's got something else
going on
that wasn't in the particulars
when we bought it.
When we moved in, four years ago,
there was a lot of work
needed to be done renovation-wise.
Activity started
to occur in the house.
Something appeared annoyed
that we were changing the decor.
That was when we first started
to get issues,
voices, steps in the hallway,
doors banging,
lights turning on and off.
There was one time when just
my daughter and I were here,
and we heard
a giggle in the kitchen.
We both looked at each other as
if to say, "Did you hear that?"
Obviously being a non-believer,
I just thought,
"Yes, OK, it's the wind.
"We're living in a unique place,
there's bound to be noises."
But things then started to
change.
The door slamming
became a little bit more frequent.
I also became acutely conscious
of the fact
that when I was going out
in the back yard,
the woods out the back,
the sense of being watched.
It started off with a few things,
and then there'd be quite a gap
but now it's pretty
much every week.
I don't even want
to look up the stairs,
because there's that feeling
of you're being watched,
and it's something
that doesn't like you.
Both my partner and I
in the main bedroom,
and you could kind of
feel something
touching the top of your head,
and all of a sudden,
I felt my fringe
being brushed from my forehead.
I was lying on my side,
and something,
because I can't say "someone"
because I don't know
what it actually was,
took hold of my left shoulder
and my hip, and pulled.
That turned me.
My leg actually went out of bed,
and I was almost sitting upright.
I could see nothing,
and I was completely shocked.
That's got me to the point now
where
I want rid of whatever is in here,
or whatever is increasing
its activity, to go.
Having you guys here will allow
me
to prove that, yes,
there is something here.
I would like validation on that.
But ultimately it needs to go
because the quality of life that
we are suffering needs to change.
Team, we're only a few minutes
away.
In fact, that's the property
over there.
Wow.
Ooh, hello.
That's a big place.
There's a lot of energy
coming from that house.
Ian, we're gonna drop you off
here.
OK.
Good luck.
Good luck.
While Jayne and Barri head off
to further investigate the case,
Ian is going to look
around the property
to see what he can pick up.
Hello? Hello?
Wow.
There's something
going on under my feet.
I just feel there's something
about the ground.
Hello?
My body is tingling.
Who said that?
What was that?
There was a voice in this corner.
Hello?
It's in this corner.
There's a man here.
I can smell burning of fires,
almost like campfires.
Ah, there's a red-haired lady
to my right as well,
and I don't know where
she belongs
in this story of this house.
My spirit guide
is saying deeper, deeper,
so it's almost as if I need
to go deeper than this wood.
Let's go look.
Piercebridge is home to one
of the most important
Roman sites
in northeast England.
I'm meeting historian
and archaeologist Jimmy Johnson
to find out more about the area,
and the house
we're investigating.
Jimmy, lovely to see you.
Lovely to see you.
Thank you for meeting me. Why
here?
Here, because Piercebridge
is a very, very old settlement.
There have been people living in
and around
where we are right now
for at least 2,000 years,
and the house that you're in
is directly on the Roman road
running north to south here,
so, right where all the action
would have been.
It's a very, very busy, very,
very old part of the country.
The house itself is relatively
new but we know
that there's been a settlement
there for quite a long time.
From the census data,
we know that lots of people
have lived there, lots of people
have been moving in and out.
So that site has got
a very, very long history indeed.
Oh wow, a secret door, almost.
I know this is a cellar,
and it's cold, naturally,
but this feels
spiritually cold.
But it's almost as if
I want to go deeper than this.
It's almost as if there's
something
under these tiles
or these flagstones.
(LIGHT FOOTSTEPS)
What were those footsteps?
That's really weird, isn't it?
Yeah.
Hello?
So there's footsteps upstairs.
There's only Adrian and I
in the building.
There's a lot of energy
coming from upstairs.
The lights just went on and off.
Yeah.
Hello? There's gonna be
There.
I saw it flash on your face.
Yeah.
That's really weird.
I'm just touching the bulbs
to make sure
there's no short in them
or anything.
It's almost
I can take that in two ways.
Whoa!
What the fuck?
I was just about to talk about
it.
So either warning me
they don't want me here,
or they're trying
to get my attention.
So it does look like
your standard
sort of farmhouse, really,
but do you know of any other uses
that it may have had?
So we know
that during the Great War,
during the First World War,
it was used
as a house of convalescence.
So, wounded soldiers,
soldiers suffering
with traumatic injuries,
shellshock, that sort of thing.
So it's likely that some of them
may not have left
the house alive, unfortunately.
It's quite a large property,
and there are multiple
sort of buildings
that form the whole property.
So do you think at some point
there were multiple families
all living there together?
Absolutely, yeah.
We've got lots of names
for lots of families.
I've been digging
through the census records.
I hope they'll be of use.
There's quite a lot
of names on there.
Hello?
Somebody is trying to communicate.
Why would I also see a man
on a crutch, in a uniform?
Potentially World War I, II?
But there's definitely
a lot of aggression here.
(GROAN)
What?
What the fuck was that?
What the fuck was that?
Eh?
What was that?
Hello? Where did that come from?
There was a clear voice.
Yeah. Footsteps again.
I've come to meet
Sam's daughter Alex,
who lives in the house
when she's not at university.
Your family home is
paranormally active, isn't it?
It is.
From the very moment we moved in,
there were so many strange things
about the house,
and I vividly remember the first
night staying in the house.
We knew that we weren't
the only people there.
It always just feels like
somebody is in the room with you.
You just always feel
like you've got eyes on you.
It's very strange.
It feels like somebody
is kind of following you around.
Oh, I don't know
whether I'd want a shower here,
knowing that the woods are there.
I almost feel
as if somebody is looking in.
It's really strange.
The energy in this bathroom
is really peculiar.
It's so strong,
because I feel uncomfortable
in this room right now.
Heard a voice.
What did you hear, Adrian?
Heard a man's voice.
Shit. Hello?
This whole house is weird.
Now, looking at the case notes,
you had quite
an interesting experience
with your bathroom, didn't you?
Yes.
It's happened a few times,
but the first time it happened
I could hear my shower was on
so I opened the door
and then the shower is fully on
and there's nobody in it.
There's nothing
that explains it at all.
Absolutely crazy, isn't it?
I know, it's unbelievable.
Let's talk about your mum and
Jim.
So, what do they want
from this investigation?
I think they just want to bring
some more peace to the house.
I think it just feels a bit more
threatening than it did before.
So, I think it's just a case
of wanting to stop it
before it gets
any more significant.
Wow.
The man I saw in the lounge area
is also in this part of the house.
II'm not shitting you,
I just saw a shadow,
near that radiator there,
and it come across
and ran straight past you.
Wow.
What was that?
What was that?
The door just closed.
Did you see that?
Yeah, got it on camera.
I'm getting that smell of burning
as I look out the window.
It's making me feel
really uncomfortable.
I've come back to the house,
along with Barri, Sam and Jim,
to meet up with Ian and begin
our spirit trigger session.
Hi.
Hi, Ian.
Hello, lovely to meet you.
Hi. Likewise. Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you.
I'd like to start
the investigation
and spirit triggers
using a digital voice recorder
and EVPs.
That's calling out into
the ether, and hopefully,
we get some kind of disembodied
voice left on the recorder.
OK.
Right.
How many spirits are here with
us?
Got my speaker.
I'm gonna play this back.
How many spirits are here with
us?
There.
..are here with us?
Three.
Yeah. That's what I could hear.
And we've always thought
there were three here,
a man, a woman
and something else, but we
OK. Well,
I saw two men and a lady.
Yeah.
Somebody near the guitar.
That's a male.
Did you get a name, Ian?
Frank.
First name Frank?
I think so.
Anything on the census record?
There is a Frank Thompson.
No way!
He was 20.
He was a horseman,
so there was a Frank.
I think the spirit I just sensed,
who could be called Frank,
was also in Sam
and Jim's bedroom earlier,
so I'm hoping to continue
communicating with him there.
EVP recording, er,
spirit triggers
in the master bedroom.
To do that, I'm using EchoVox,
an instrumental
trans-communication application
which uses six banks
of phonetic sounds
to generate intelligible
responses from spirit.
Frank, are you here?
Please help.
Yeah.
Frank, do you need help?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Can you tell us why you're here,
though?
Can you tell us your story?
Fire? In a fire?
Yeah, it sounded like it.
In the dining room, we get
the smell of smoke all the time,
and there's no real log fire
in there at all, it's electric,
but you walk in and the smell
of fire, the smell of smoke.
That's interesting.
Was there a fire here?
Fire.
Fire.
Fire.
Thank you.
Was anybody hurt?
Dead.
Dead.
Oh my goodness.
Bloody hell.
Wow.
Distress, distress.
Yeah, yeah.
Frank, were you a horseman?
Yes.
Yes.
"Help us."
Where shall we go to next?
Well, given that Alex
has had experiences in her room,
let's try some spirit box
in Alex's bedroom.
Mmm, OK.
I'm happy we've made contact
with a male spirit,
and I think Sam's daughter Alex
may be key to connecting
to the female one,
so I've invited her
to join us in her bedroom
for this part of the session.
Guys, I've got Alex here.
Hiya.
Alex, this is Jayne and Ian.
Hello.
Given that this is your room
and you've had the majority
of the experiences in here now,
would you call out?
Yeah, absolutely.
Yeah?
I'm using a spirit box
for this part of the session.
Who's here with us?
Me?
Me. Me.
Spirit box randomly
sweeps the radio frequencies,
scanning quickly and allowing
spirits to communicate
using the white noise.
Can you tell me your name?
Edith. Edith?
Edith, yeah.
Call out for Edith. Edith.
Edith.
How old are you?
Did that say 20?
Yeah, 20.
Is there an Edith in the census?
I'm just looking.
Just turn this off.
There is an Edith
on the census in 1901.
She's the daughter
of the head of the house.
She's 19 on the census.
Holy cow!
So that's her.
Now, Frank is on the same census,
and he's 20.
Oh my goodness.
And he's a horseman.
So they may live
The hairs on the back of my neck
just stood up.
So they lived potentially
in the house together.
Well, certainly on the plot,
but in 1901, that wouldn't have
been this building, would it?
Now we also have references to
fire.
Mm-hm.
Did something happen that
potentially killed both of them?
Were they together?
They're 19 and 20.
Yeah.
Were they killed in a fire?
Did I say to you, Adrian,
that the lady
I saw had reddish hair?
Yeah.
Yeah, I visualised her
walking into the room now.
She's really pale-skinned.
She's between you and Alex.
Edith, my name is Barri.
What was that?
What was all that?
Is that people on the stairs?
I don't know.
Is anybody on the stairs?
Do you want me to check?
No-one's there.
Just check.
That's the noise
I get when I'm in here.
Yeah, I hear that as well.
It sounds like somebody's stood
outside the door
when I'm working.
There's been so many times
during the night as well
where I've texted Mum asking,
"Are you coming up the stairs?"
and she'll be like, "No."
Is there anyone there, Jim?
No-one on the stairs.
There's no-one on the landing
and there's no-one
in the spare room
at the other end,
or indeed the toilet.
That sounded as though somebody
was stood there
transferring weight in one spot.
Yes. We get that a lot.
Yeah, we do.
That's got be,
that's got to be Edith, right?
That's weird.
Or is it Frank waiting outside?
Well, yeah. Could be.
Well, let's ask.
Frank, was that you
outside the room?
Ed
Really loud again.
There's nobody there.
Edith, is it you or Frank
who stands on the landing
when I'm working
in the other room?
That said Frank.
Frank. That, yeah, yeah.
Is this Frank?
Was there a fire here?
There was one.
There was one.
There was one.
I'm gonna end
this session now, guys.
A huge amount
of information and responses.
That's probably one of the most
active spirit triggers
we've done in a while.
Darkness falls and Sam, Alex,
and Jim leave us for the night.
To capture any unusual activity
during the investigation,
I've asked the team
to place cameras
across the entire property.
They will be constantly monitored
here in our nerve centre.
Yeah, that looks good.
Well, look, the crew are setting
up the remaining cameras now,
but I'd like to concentrate
our efforts on the oldest part
of the building, which is
actually here in Alex's room.
We've got a camera downstairs
in the front room
but also the master
bedroom as well.
So, where would you like
to start the investigation?
Given that we've just heard
what sounded like footsteps
on the landing,
shall we all go out there
and maybe cover the landing
and staircase area first?
That sounds a good plan.
Barri to nerve centre, over.
Go for nerve.
Can we switch all the cameras
to infrared, please?
Copy that.
Do you guys wanna hang around
here in the hallway?
Maybe we'll do some ITC here.
Whoa, whoa, whoa!
Did you see that?
Yeah, that speaker just flashed.
There is a spirit here.
If it's Edith or Frank,
and you want to communicate
using that speaker, can you
make that flash for us, please?
It just did.
And again.
And again.
If this is Frank Oh!
Did it do it again?
So that flashed for Frank.
Yeah.
Did it?
Yeah.
What was that?
Like a knock.
Let's see.
We could try that
or I've got the actual box.
Ah!
What?
What? Was that that?
And the speaker's going again.
That's what happened to me
on my walkaround,
and I was tapping the glass.
I'm gonna try an ITC application
called Spirit Talker.
If there is a spirit here
with us now, can you talk to us?
Hear my story.
Share my story.
Why are you here?
"I like to come here."
"Why are you here?"
"I like to come here."
Brilliant.
How did you die?
Did you die in a fire?
What? Eh? Did..?
I can hear something, yeah, yeah.
What did you hear?
A voice.
"Listen carefully."
There was a voice coming
from that bedroom
and then it said li
"Help me."
Whether that's Frank or whether
that's Edith, we don't know.
Who's with us now?
What's going on down there?
Car on the driveway.
No, is there a door open?
On the gravel.
Oh, my god!
The noise was him?
The noise was him!
The noise was him!
Wow.
Oh. Who, who? Pat.
Who?
Is this the third spirit?
Is this the other man, Pat?
Yeah, it could be.
The noise was him, Pat.
That's so weird.
Yeah.
(THUD)
What?
What was that?
What the hell was that?
Wow.
Barri to nerve centre, over.
Go ahead.
We've just heard a very loud
bang.
Can you check the fixed rig
that we're on, please?
Yeah, we're doing that.
This is clearly bringing us down.
This is an area Sam feel
And Alex feel
actually more oppressed.
They feel there's an energy here.
Well, the cellar is really
spooky.
Whoa!
What happened?
Something brushed past me.
Scared the shit out of me.
Are you OK, Adrian?
Yeah.
Who did that? Who's here?
Are you alright, mate?
Was that somebody
going down the cellar?
Hello?
Hello?
Let's make our way
down to the cellar.
Something, maybe the same entity
that brushed past
our camera operator Adrian
Hello?
..seems to want us to go down
to the cellar.
I'm wondering whether this cellar
is the cellar
from the original house.
I wonder if this is what's
causing
some of the energy
with Frank and Edith.
I think you're right.
EVP recording down in the cellar,
main investigation.
Nerve centre to Barri.
Receiving, over.
We have definitely caught that
door slamming on the fixed rig.
Oh, wow.
Oh, my god.
OK.
Wow.
The door, which was open,
slammed shut
while we was upstairs.
Something was clearly
trying to get our attention.
But now we're in the cellar,
things have gone quiet.
So I have an idea.
Alex gets quite a lot of stuff
when she's on her own.
What about if we leave Jayne
and let her walk around
the property on her own?
Are you up for that?
Yeah, that's fine.
Yeah?
Let's just let her walk around on
her own, no crew, no nothing,
with a camera in her hand.
Are you staying down here
a little bit, Jayne?
Yeah, I'll start down here.
OK, good luck.
Adrian, our camera operator,
has given Jayne his camera,
so she's completely alone
in the house.
Ian and I will be watching
Jayne's every move
from the nerve centre.
It's gone freezing
cold right behind me. Shit.
I don't even wanna turn round.
Er
Are you standing by me now?
Are you behind me?
Friendly.
Wow.
So you're friendly? Good.
Thank you.
Is this Frank?
Frank,
are you the friendly spirit,
the protective spirit?
OK, I'm gonna move.
I'm going upstairs.
Keep talking to me, Frank.
If you're down there, follow me.
Where are you, Frank?
I think she'll start
Can you lead me to where you are?
She'll feel something as soon
as she gets in the hallway again.
Where are you?
(GASPS)
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Hold there.
Stop!
What was that?
What did you hear, Jayne?
A whimper, a cry, like, "ooh."
This is not creepy at all, is it?
I think because she's on her own,
it's starting to be more active.
If you're upstairs,
I'm coming up now as well.
I'm on my own.
"Husband."
What?
Husband?
Jayne,
maybe they were trying to elope
or get married or something.
Yeah.
Right,
I'm gonna go into Alex's bedroom.
Oh, my god, this room
feels totally different.
It didn't announce the word:
"wife".
Wife, there you go.
So we've had "husband" and
"wife."
Brilliant.
That's absolutely incredible.
Well done, Jayne.
So Frank is telling us
potentially
he wanted to be her husband,
and she's saying
she wanted to be his wife.
Seriously, there are 9,500 words
in that word bank.
Yeah, yeah.
Whoa! What was that?
That's like both spirits are
communicating with her at once
100%.
..and it's referenced them
being lovers
Yeah.
..wanting to be husband and wife
but never got the chance.
Are you over there, behind me?
I've just heard something in
there.
Who's that?
There was a knock.
We're gonna come in
and join you up in Alex's room
and bring the ghost box with us.
Yeah, good idea.
It's us, Jayne.
That was insane.
The husband-and-wife thing,
what are the chances
of getting those two words,
husband and wife?
Straight after each other.
Yeah, yeah.
Jayne's made great contact
with what we think
are the spirits
of Edith and Frank,
and I want to continue
this communication
in Jim and Sam's bedroom.
Whoa! Can you feel that?
Yeah. This is a low
It's cold in here as well.
It's cold and it
It's weird, isn't it?
..feels weird.
We're using EchoVox again to try
to communicate with the spirit
who's been touching and moving
Jim and Sam while they sleep.
Frank, did you pull Jim out the
bed?
Yes?
That was a yes.
Why did you feel the need
to pull Jim out the bed?
Was there a fire?
Could you smell burning?
Yes?
Was that a yes as well?
Did you both die in a fire?
That was a woman saying yes.
Mmm.
Did you try and save Edith?
Aye.
Now "aye" is a northern word
for "yes."
Mmm.
Yeah.
Frank, did you perish in a fire?
Yes, died.
Yeah.
Pray?
We are gonna pray for you.
Yeah. Yes. Good.
We will pray for you, I promise.
We're gonna send you
into the light together.
So we've identified Edith
and Frank,
but we know that there were
three spirits here at
the start of our investigation.
Shall we head to the lounge area
and try to make contact
with this third spirit?
Yeah.
OK.
I'm going to be using an SLS
or structured light sensor
camera,
which detects spirit forms
invisible to the naked eye,
showing them on-screen
as stick figures.
On my walkaround,
I picked up on a man on a crutch.
Well, do you know what?
We haven't discussed this yet,
but when I met with Jimmy,
he also told me about the
different use for this building
during World War I
and, actually, it was used
as a convalescent home.
Ah.
Wow.
So wounded soldiers,
usually officers, were sent out
to places like this
in the countryside
for fresh air to recover.
I'm wondering if this
is the other gentleman
that I was seeing.
But do you think
this spirit is responsible
for the oppressive feeling,
and also whoever
slammed the kitchen door?
Yeah.
See, I saw a crutch,
but I'm wondering if he lost
a leg or something like that.
So that could be his frustration.
Yeah.
I feel he's here.
I do sense him in the room.
It does feel like there's
someone down here with us.
There is. I think he's here,
Jayne.
Jayne's actually sensing somebody
here as well, so
Over there.
Can you show yourself to
this gentleman I'm touching now?
Can you walk towards him, please?
Whoa!
Something walked
through my grave, man.
Sorry. Sorry, mate.
It's 'cause I asked him to.
That's my fault.
Can you,
can you try and show yourself,
rather than walk through him?
Ian.
Yeah.
There's a small stick figure
literally on your head.
OK. So he's stood behind me,
potentially.
I don't know,
it sounds really stupid,
because I don't know whether that
name is embedded with me now,
but I am hearing Patrick.
Are you?
Yeah, I am, yeah.
I think it's important
that we move Patrick to the light
so his conditions
are lifted from him,
and he's at peace,
and Frank and Edith,
we put them together,
'cause they were meant to be
together but it never happened.
We light a candle
for the spirits to focus on,
as Ian tries to help them
cross over.
Dear Father, we pray for you
to bring down your light
of love and happiness.
Frank and Edith,
we pray for your souls.
I ask of you to draw forward
towards my voice
and focus on this light.
You can be together as partners,
husband and wife,
and as you walk through
on the other side,
you're embraced
as a couple with God's blessing.
I'm calling out to the soldier.
As you walk through
into that light,
your conditions
are lifted from you.
God bless you, my son.
We thank you, dear Lord,
for opening your doorway of love
and light and happiness,
and we ask of you to spread that
love around each room, each wall.
Amen.
Amen.
As dawn breaks,
we invite Sam, Jim, and Alex
back into their house
to talk them through
what we've found out.
Morning. How did you guys sleep?
Not too bad.
Quite well.
Reasonably well, reasonably well.
Well, we had an interesting
evening in your house, guys,
but, you know, in a place like
this, where the land is so rich
in the history anyway,
you'll always have some echoes
of the past, you know.
Yeah.
You will always have that
in a place like this.
So after you left us, we actually
went back to the landing area,
because if you remember,
one of the last things
that happened
while we were all together
were those really loud footsteps.
Yeah.
And that's something you've
all experienced, haven't you?
Yeah.
Mmm.
So we all stood on the landing,
and Barri was running an
application on the tablet
called Spirit Talker,
and Spirit Talker contains
banks of words,
phrases, sometimes sentences.
These responses
are utterly mind-blowing.
If there is a spirit here
with us now, can you talk to us?
What?
That's not even just a single
word.
No, that's right.
Why are you here?
I like to come here!
Why are you here? Like to come
Got goosebumps.
Oh, my god.
And then this one was brilliant.
Help me.
And that's what she wanted: help.
"Listen carefully."
Wow.
Yeah, it's amazing.
That's unbelievable.
It's a proper, like,
discussion with you, isn't it?
There's also a desperation
in her voice. Yes.
You know, "Listen to me,
I want to say something,"
in other words
she's taking control of you guys
to convey whatever it is
she needs to convey.
So, that was interesting,
but because, Alex,
you've experienced so much when
you're on your own, you know,
in your bedroom, so Ian
suggested that I spend some time
on my own in your house.
But Alex, when I got into your
room,
that's when I started
getting responses,
and these responses
actually confirmed for us
that Frank and Edith
know each other,
and that there was
a very special reason
that they were both still here.
OK.
Oh.
Does anyone wanna talk to me?
Husband?
(GASPS) Wife.
But for me, that was just
amazing.
And what are the chances?
You know, I'm standing in your
room,
calling out, trying to speak
to Frank, Edith,
figure out what's happening,
and I'm told "husband, wife."
So we moved
into your master bedroom next,
and we did get some answers.
Frank, did you pull Jim out the
bed?
Yeah.
That was straightaway.
Yeah. Why?
Frank, why did you do that?
Was there a fire?
Could you smell burning?
Yes.
Yes.
Frank, did you perish in a fire?
Yes.
Ah, fucking hell.
Actually you hear, "Yeah, died."
I'll play that again for you.
Oh, yes.
Followed by this response as
well.
Did you try and save Edith?
Aye.
Aye. Yeah. That's the way
my dad would talk.
Is it?
Aye.
So you see, actually,
we do have a reason
as to why you were
pulled out of bed.
It was almost a replay,
you know, like a moment in time,
an action, a desperation
that somehow is trapped here.
We know it happened on this land.
I've got a load of Spidey senses
all over my body now.
So from your master bedroom,
we ventured downstairs
to the living room area.
We wanted to try
and establish contact
with the other spirit
that Ian had picked up
during his walkaround.
So, sitting in your main lounge,
I was aware of a gentleman
just stood to my right,
over my right shoulder,
and I felt he was either
an officer or somebody
with some authority from World War
I.
Actually, from the history
records,
the property had been used
as a convalescent home.
That's right.
So there had,
there had been probably officers
sent out here into
the rural areas to recuperate.
This was recorded on the
structured light sensor camera.
The anomalies that are detected
would appear as stick figures,
OK?
Those are the spirit forms.
There's Ian.
Oh yeah.
Oh wow, yeah.
Ian. Yeah.
There's a small stick figure
literally on your head.
OK. So he's stood behind me
potentially.
I always think it feels different
behind the sofa,
where the piano is,
than it does where you sit.
I get the same thing.
Yeah. Wow.
We felt at this point
that we had enough evidence,
certainly from Edith and Frank,
that they needed
bringing together
and crossing over,
and of course, also,
our World War I officer.
So we decided to come into this
dining room, where we're sat now.
We lit a candle
and I opened the gates,
and we put the spirits
through into the light.
There was holding hands
and the soldier,
he's also very happy
and he's at peace as well.
That's good.
That's literally all we wanted,
'cause it's clear
some of the things
that we were guessing,
that somebody didn't know
why they were here,
and they were really sad.
So it's nice that they've now
found a bit of peace, I suppose.
And together and happy.
Absolutely, yeah.
Which is really important.
That's all you can want.
Yes.
Wow.
But it's been amazing for us.
We've loved it.
And us.
Thank you guys so much.
It's been superb.
Thank you.
Thank you for coming.
NARRATOR:
This has been a fascinating
and sometimes emotional
investigation
I really enjoyed that
investigation.
Yeah, I'm so happy for Edith now,
though.
A tragic romance.
..but who knows
what the next case will bring?
