Nashville s06e04 Episode Script

That's My Story

1 Previously on "Nashville" Maybe I had a little fun.
Then we should do this.
You're talking about like a super group? Or just making music and having fun.
Without him up there, I kind of started to wonder why I'm doing it.
The Center for Equine Therapy that helps troubled teens deal with trauma.
- There's Jake.
- He is so weird.
- I don't - Shut up.
Shut up? I was taking some steroids, but I stopped.
He's one guy.
He's controlling everything you feel.
He is not controlling, he Where do we keep the, uh Right-hand side, next to your old man vitamins.
Thank you What? Wait.
I didn't know that Gunnar, Will and Avery were playing a show tonight.
Will just posted something.
Yeah.
I'm actually going to see them tonight.
They're over in East Nashville.
That's cool.
Are they like a thing now? I think they're mostly screwing around.
But they want me to stop by to see if there's anything there, you know.
Oh, I bet that would be amazing.
What would be? Uh, Gunnar, Will and Avery are playing a show tonight.
- Dad's going.
- Oh, together? - Mm-hmm.
- Can I go? Don't you got school tomorrow? - Yeah.
- So? Well, Kim Jong crazy guy could blow us all up in a nuclear holocaust.
Someone's been watching too much CNN.
No, for real.
Can I? Uh, yeah.
Jessie'll be there.
I know she'd love to see you.
Oh, that's okay.
Oh, come on now.
Don't do that, please.
We're gonna have fun.
It'll be a good time.
I forgot.
I have choir practice.
- You do? Really? - I do, yeah.
- You sure? - Yeah, yeah.
We'll do it another time.
Okay.
That's a promise.
Hi.
My name's Scarlett.
We spoke on the phone yesterday.
Oh, yeah, the singer.
Well, I'm kind of putting that on hold right now, but What brings you to the ranch? I saw the piece they did on "Good Morning Nashville".
I hated what they did to my hair.
Well, I've been working with kids lately and I thought equine therapy might be a good fit to help more.
I used to ride when I was little.
And I really miss it, so Well, we like horse people.
But don't expect to be getting on one anytime soon.
- Okay.
- Horses are the teachers here.
You'll need some training to see how it all works.
I recommend you observe a couple of sessions before committing.
Of course.
See if it's something you really want to get into.
You free at all this week? - Wide open.
- Terrific.
I'll buddy you up with one of our regulars and have her show you the ropes.
And you'll become much more familiar with him tomorrow.
- Ugh.
- Eww! Right! Lights, please.
Now before I let everyone go, I need to pair you all up for the big day.
(GROANING) Yes, I know.
Some of you are dreading it.
But it's gonna be fun, I promise.
Just think of it as a rite of passage.
Will those of you in the odd rows turn around and look at the person behind you? That's your partner in crime.
You'll be graded together as a team so you'll need to figure out who's gonna cut and who's gonna record data.
Doesn't matter to me.
Just bring your A game, got it? - (SCHOOL BELL RINGS) - Have a good day, everyone.
- Weird.
- Tell me about it.
So I guess we should decide who does what? Full disclosure, I'm not that big on snakes and lizards or anything slimy.
I was traumatized by an iguana when I was six.
Why does that not surprise me? Then there was that time in the Galapagos with the Komodo Dragon.
The what? I'm kidding.
Okay, so I'll do the cutting? Honestly, if I make it through all this without puking all over the place, it's gonna be a miracle.
Where do you go when the night is long, baby Where do you go when everything is wrong, baby Where do you go when you're barely hanging on To my arms, my arms (GIRLS SHOUTING) It's okay by me If you call tonight I'll drop everything Whatever's got you down I can make it all right, all right Woo-oo-oo Woo-oo-oo Ooh yeah (CELL PHONE RINGS) How'd it go? Oh, okay, I guess.
Just okay? Yeah.
I don't now.
I mean, you could tell we've never played together before.
At least the three of us.
Aw, you just have to give it time.
Hey! This guy wants to manage us.
- I do? - He just doesn't know it yet.
See you inside.
I know it's just a side project.
But it still needs to be good.
Same thing happened with ZAG in the beginning.
We never quite figured it out.
The past is not your future, babe.
- That's deep.
- Yeah.
It's what Darius says in this book I'm reading.
He says, "If you want to be successful in life, you have to be willing to change your story.
" Your "story"? Mm-hmm.
And how does one do that? I have to get back to you on that because I'm only on page 23.
You honestly believe all that stuff? Yeah.
Why wouldn't I? Because life's more complicated than that.
You can't just wake up one morning and decide to be someone else.
And why would you want to? Your story is your story.
It's what makes you, you.
Yeah, but what if you don't like who that is? You know how much I wanted to be a pro basketball player when I was younger? It was never gonna happen, no matter how hard I tried.
But if I kept thinking that I could change it somehow, I never would have found music.
Right, but I'm not talking about the things that you can't change.
I'm talking about the things that you can change.
Like your outlook on life or how you feel about yourself.
Guys are waiting for me.
I'll be home in a bit.
Bye.
Bye.
Sorry about that.
No problem.
Just telling these guys how great we thought y'all were tonight.
- Really? - Mm-hmm.
You don't feel like there was a lack of cohesion? - Cohesion? - Yeah.
Just thought we were kind of all over the place.
Well, it looked like y'all were having fun.
Sounded great too.
- Mm-hmm.
- What'd you think, Jessie? Honestly, I was too busy trying to decide which one of you guys to have a crush on.
It was like every great boy band concert I've ever been to.
You've been to boy band concerts? In high school.
Haven't you? (LAUGHS) - No, I did not.
- You guys? I'm not that gay.
I plead the Fifth.
So none of you guys have seen the Backstreet Boys in concert or Hanson or No, apparently not.
They're the entire reason I'm even in the music business at all.
All right, I'm a little speechless right now.
I mean, 'N Sync was my all-time favorite, obviously.
I didn't want to just have sex with Justin Timberlake.
I wanted to be Justin Timberlake.
This just keeps getting weirder.
Okay.
I'm just saying that you guys have that kind of charisma.
We appreciate the compliment I think.
But we're not really a boy band.
We're not even boys.
We're old.
Some of us have kids.
I'm just saying that, if we're gonna make a go at this, we should start focusing on material that makes sense for all three of us.
Yeah.
It's a little hard when our resident crybaby over here just wants to sing ballads all the time.
- You talking about me? - I believe so.
First of all, Will, there's nothing wrong with a sad country song.
But maybe Avery has a point.
Maybe y'all should figure out who you are as a group a little bit, you know.
Instead of just individuals.
Find some of that, um - Cohesion.
- Cohesion.
Yeah, I guess.
I might have an opportunity for you guys to do that.
I happen to know that Winterville Nashfest is looking to fill a slot.
What happened here? We had an autistic group in this morning doing some finger painting.
All nontoxic and hypoallergenic.
A life-sized My Little Pony.
It was like a day at the spa for the horses.
I guess I don't know much about equine therapy at all.
I thought it was more about riding.
A lot of folks do.
Truth is, some of the most effective treatment comes without ever getting in a saddle.
You work mostly with teens? Used to be, but we pretty much work with everyone now.
Addicts, terminally ill patients vets.
Vets? You should see some of those guys when they first come to us, and gals.
How broken they are.
Next thing you know, they're up and riding and talking to everyone.
It's transformational.
This here's Scout.
He loves getting his ears rubbed.
Most of our horses have been abused or neglected, so they're healing too.
What is it that makes them so suited to this type of work? Horses are prey animals.
So their natural inclination is to be scared and protect themselves.
Just like the people who come to us.
So they end up recognizing each other and helping each other learn to heal and trust.
Beautiful.
There's the group you'll be observing.
One thing I ask is that you keep your distance, and don't interfere.
It may look like fun and games but it's real work we're doing here.
Yes, ma'am.
Now place the frog on the dissection tray ventral side up.
Did I forget to mention I faint when I see blood? Like pass-out faint? It's a genetic thing.
Thanks for the heads up.
Now identify the external structures.
The trunk, the eyes, the hind limbs and anus.
He has an anus? Doesn't everyone? Not my cousin.
He was born without one.
(GIGGLES) - That's funny.
- Not to him.
(LAUGHS) Come on now.
Stay focused.
Now secure the frog to the tray with the four pins provided.
You're not actually gonna stick him with that, are you? Unless you have a better idea.
I don't know, pull the fire alarm? You might want to stand back in case anything squirts out.
Oh, God.
What? - Here it comes.
- Here comes what? The explosion of vomit.
You kidding me? We haven't got to the gross part yet.
Yeah, and we're not going to.
Mr.
Maitland? So much for passing Biology this semester.
We could still catch up in time if we just hurry.
Just go.
Save yourself.
Just 'cause I'm gonna fail doesn't mean you have to.
We're graded as a team, remember? (SIGHS) My dad's gonna kill me.
Not if I kill you first.
Is your dad tough on you? Not according to him, he's not.
Says I'm gonna get eaten alive if I don't start trying harder.
Like that theory we just learned about? Survival of the fittest? He says I'm headed for extinction.
That's not very nice.
He's just being a dad.
Aren't they all pretty much just jerks? What do you mean? I mean, mine's a Nazi.
And your's is a rageaholic.
A what? Isn't that why your sister went to court? Because your dad goes around punching people? Shut up! You don't know anything about my dad! Are you two supposed to be out here? (SOBBING) Where are you right now? (SIGHS) I heard something on the way over here.
What'd you hear? Crying, but not normal crying.
It was more intense than that.
Like somebody was dying.
Interesting way to describe it.
What was it? A Witnessing.
It's the next phase in the training, when you start to free yourself from your past.
All the unwanted emotions and traumas associated with it.
Let's focus on where you are now.
Close your eyes.
I want to go back to that place you mentioned yesterday.
What place? From your childhood when you were the most happy.
(ROCK 'N ROLL MUSIC PLAYS) Are you there? Yeah.
You were talking about your uncle.
Yeah, he's not my real uncle.
My mom just calls him that.
What does he look like? Old, kind eyes.
What about the house? What do you see? Velvet curtains Books everywhere.
A TV with cartoons playing.
It's always the same.
And how old are you? Nine maybe.
You remember anything else? Yeah.
- What is it? - A stack of bills.
Bills? $20 bills laid out on the table like Monopoly money.
Don't bother me Ooh-wop Am I to blame? Ooh-wop For all your heartache And all your pain No, it's too late Ooh-wop For you and me Come on, baby.
Come dance with me.
Just go your way Ooh-wop Don't bother me - Don't bother me - Ooh-wop I need to stop.
(COUGHING) What's going on? (SIGHS) Nothing.
I just don't want to be there anymore.
This was a good session.
You should feel really proud of yourself.
Didn't feel good to me.
Is it possible you don't know what good means anymore? Things you've been pushing away for so long are keeping you from really feeling who you are.
Maybe we could rethink the lyric in that chorus.
Which one? Like "blood from a stone"? You've heard that expression before, right? Yeah.
It's dark, man.
Like the whole chorus just feels so emo.
Maybe just "Can't call you on the phone"? "Can't call you on the phone".
- It scans.
- Yeah, makes it boring.
Makes it grounded.
It's not a song about being grounded.
It's a song about heartbreak.
Heartbreak is dark.
That's why it's called heartbreak.
Okay, it's the last song of the set.
I just thought maybe we could end on an up note.
Right, like Waylon Jennings always ended on an up note.
Are you gonna back me up here? It's Gunnar's song.
Maybe we should play it first before we change it.
I know how it plays.
Like a dirge.
Like all the other downers he's been writing lately.
Here we go.
Come on, man.
He's going through a breakup.
- Cut him some slack.
- And I'm not? You see me moping all over the place? All right, we can't all wink and smile our way through life like we're living in some fantasy land.
Whatever.
I give up! Well, I'm gonna make a sandwich.
Because being emo makes me hungry.
Is it just me, or does he seem extra bright lately? Yeah, I know.
I mean, even his teeth seem whiter.
- That's just Will.
- No, it's not just Will.
It's like Will times 11.
You see the way he was working the crowd last night? It's embarrassing.
Ah, it's just his act.
Yeah.
That's exactly what it is.
It's not a very authentic one.
I don't know, I pretty much think what you see is what you get with Will.
Yeah.
Well, whatever it is, he better take it down a notch.
It's starting to bug me.
And you know what? If he hogs the microphone one more time, I swear, I'm gonna strangle him with it! So, detention, hey? Literally for leaving the classroom without permission.
Can you believe that? We have to stay after school and clean all the classrooms.
I'm so glad I'm out of that place.
I was just trying to be nice to the guy.
I don't know why.
The things he says sometimes are so weird.
Like what do you mean? He called Dad a rageaholic.
What? It's why he said you went to court because he went around punching people.
That's so not true! I know.
Told you he was weird.
And now I have to spend all this time with him and it's so awkward.
Come on, Scout.
Come on, boy, come on.
The idea is to get the horse to jump over that pole without forcing him or bribing him with treats.
Come on, Scout.
It's a lot tougher than it looks.
Come on.
Come on, boy.
- What are the Post-its for? - Come on To represent the obstacles the kids have in life.
The roadblocks and the things we do to get in our own way.
He won't move.
You're standing in front of him.
You think you're coaxing him but he thinks you're blocking him.
I'll bet each of you get scared sometimes when people you think are standing in your way.
- Come on, stupid! - No pushing.
What am I supposed to do? Communicate.
How do you suppose Scout's feeling right now? Like he doesn't want to be here.
And neither do I! Then let's start there.
Why do you think he don't want to be here? What are you laughing at? Me? No, no, I wasn't laughing at I'm smiling.
I can see what a great job you're doing.
Okay.
Let's give someone else a try.
You can't do that.
I'm sorry? The work you're doing out there is extremely sensitive and you can't get in the middle.
No, ma'am.
I didn't want her to think I was making fun.
The stables could use some mucking out.
Why don't you take Miss O'Connor down there - and show her how it's done.
- Yes, ma'am.
She's getting so big! I know, and so impatient.
I swear she's gonna start potty training herself.
That's my favorite.
- Aw! - Yeah.
I miss this.
Miss what? This.
Us.
The way we used to be.
I wish we could go back there.
- Juliette - I know, I know.
Like it's all water under the bridge.
But I do.
I'm not proud of the way I treated you and I wish that I could take it all back.
I hope you know that.
Are you good? Yes.
I'm really good.
I am.
I've been doing this therapy.
I'm sure Avery told you.
He's been all up in my Corn Flakes about it.
- He may have mentioned it.
- Mm-hmm.
It's actually really amazing.
And I know I've been down this road before but I'm telling you, this time it feels real.
- I'm glad.
- Yeah.
- You don't think it's weird? - Weird? You know, it's not Jesus.
(CHUCKLES) Of course not.
I just want you to be happy.
I am happy.
I'm really happy.
Good.
Maybe a little scared, too.
How's that? I can feel myself heading towards something.
I don't know what it is.
I just feels like it's big, though.
And I might have to go through some pain in order to get there.
Have ever felt that way? Am I being a big fat drama queen as usual? Once.
Camp Cokachee.
I was there for Bible Camp, and we were all supposed to get baptized in the creek one day.
Everyone was so excited about it except for me.
I was petrified of having my head dunked under the water.
I was convinced I was going to drown in two seconds.
So I pretended I was sick and I ended up in the infirmary all afternoon.
And I felt so left out when they all came back.
Like they'd been through something, you know? It took me years to work up the courage to finally do it.
And? I thought I was gonna drown.
(LAUGHS) But I didn't.
You know, it was such a shame when you think about it.
All those years I wasted being afraid.
He weighs 1,000 pounds and could trample any one of us in a heartbeat.
But he's scareder than you are.
See? Look how he calms down when you touch him.
Mm-hmm.
Sean? You wanna give it a try? No, that's okay.
(KNOCKING ON DOOR) Yeah? - Dad? - Mm-hmm? Can I talk to you for a second? I'm running late for the Bluebird.
So a second will be perfect.
What's up? You're not still upset with me, are you? About what? I'm honestly embarrassed to even bring it back up.
Come over here.
Sit down.
What are you talking about? The hearing.
Just everything I said on the stand.
Come on, Mad.
We made our peace with that a long time ago.
Why you wanna bring that up? Jake Maitland.
He said some really hurtful things to Daphne today.
Like what? That wasn't horrible.
You guys sure you don't wanna go over this set list one last time? What for? I'm just worried about flow.
Dude, just let it go! Let what go? Stop ranking on my song, or I'll start ranking on your new song, all right? What's wrong with my new song? (SIGHS) Never mind.
Hey, what's wrong with the song I just wrote? Well, don't ask him.
He's like Switzerland! Have you two been trashing my song behind my back? Please stop.
Well, you should hear what he says about your sad sack little ditty.
Hey, I like his sad sack little ditty.
- You think it's sad sack? - No, I never said that.
He Oh, crap.
I gotta go.
I'm late.
What happened to "stirring" and "deeply emotional" and the other things? It is stirring.
Just not as stirring as Mr.
Bump and Grind It last night? Well, you know, someone had to wake them up out of their coma! Enough! You know what? The truth is, you could both use a little bit of each other right now.
And you're a little depressing.
And you're a little Rico Suave.
It's like that commercial when we were little where the guy's walking down the street with a jar of peanut butter.
and accidentally bumps into a girl eating some chocolate? Next thing you know, they revolutionize the candy bar industry.
What are you talking about? You need a little of his chocolate.
And you need a little of his peanut butter.
Rico who? Wandering roads that carry me home Lead me through both right and wrong I may love and I may lose Still I know I'll always choose To live the highs and lows All on my journey home Since the day that you were born Footsteps fall in a path well-worn Strings that pull, you never see Chains that bind you set you free All on your journey home Wandering roads that carry me home Lead me through both right and wrong I may love and I may lose Still I know I'll always choose To live the highs and lows All on my journey home Ooh (APPLAUSE) It's like every day, another door opens.
All these discoveries, it's pretty mind-blowing.
- Sounds like it.
- Yeah.
And terrifying, too, at the same time.
Well, it goes with the territory, right? What do you mean? - Here you go, babe.
- Thank you.
Mm-hmm.
I'm gonna go say hi to Hallie.
Okay.
Hey, thanks for coming.
Yeah.
Just sorry I was late.
How was the rehearsal? You guys all ready for tomorrow? I think I may have created a two-headed monster.
What's that? Will and Gunnar? Yeah.
Maybe it's just better if we all shut up and let each other do what we do.
Want me to maybe stop by the soundcheck? Give a little pep talk to Bucky? Couldn't hurt.
All right.
How does she seem to you? - You mean Juliette? - Yeah.
Pretty great, considering where she was.
I mean, why? You don't think so? It's just this guru guy she's all wrapped up in.
I've never seen her surrender to anything so quickly.
It's kind of spooky.
I've seen that happen sometimes.
You know, people, they feel something helping them so they get this shot of adrenalin.
You know, the first steps of healing.
Ask anybody that's ever been to AA.
This feels different.
It scares me a little.
In what way? I knew this kid in high school.
Got involved in a cult.
Gave up everything.
A football scholarship, his girlfriend, his name even.
His parents spent a fortune tracking him down, trying to undo everything that was done to him.
He was never the same after that.
It's like they forgot to put something back after they returned him.
Well, you think this is like that? I don't know.
It seems like she's come a long way.
I don't know, Avery.
I mean, if she's finding something from this guy, it might be hard.
But you might need to let her go down this road - a little longer.
- Yeah, maybe.
I am serious.
I see this all the time.
People start out real gung-ho.
But, you know, the novelty wears off.
They come back to earth.
Real healing starts in.
Maybe just give her a little more time.
Yeah.
He called you a what? A rageaholic.
- Are you kidding me? - Nope.
Pretty sure that's a direct quote.
Ahh I'm so sorry.
No, no, no.
That's not why I'm calling.
You know, there's only one person that he could have heard that from.
Yeah.
Listen, Jessie, I'm not gonna lie to you.
I've had more than my share of moments I'm not proud of.
But that was all back when I was drinking.
Deacon, stop.
You do not need to defend yourself, please.
I know.
There's just not too many folks right now that I feel the need to take a swing at and Deacon, stop.
No, I've been I just want you to know, okay? I want you to know that you don't have to worry.
I'm a good guy.
No matter what the rumors are.
Well, first of all, I don't pay any attention to that crap.
- I know.
- It's not my style.
And let's not forget that there is a whole lot of garbage out there on me.
So you really don't need to worry about.
I can make up my own mind.
And I'm a pretty good judge of character.
My ex-husband notwithstanding, obviously.
Yeah.
Well I just wanted to clear the air a little, that's all.
All right.
Well, are we done? (CHUCKLES) Yeah, we're done.
Good, because there's this restaurant I want to take you to after we see the guys tonight.
- Is that right? - Yeah.
I found the only place in all of Nashville that doesn't serve Brussels sprouts.
(LAUGHS) Oh, thank God.
(KNOCKING ON DOOR) Hey, where's Darius? He asked me to get you.
Where are we going? Your Witnessing.
Can we talk? One second.
These two are having some trouble bonding.
It's a great way to help them start communicating.
What, like a join up? One of the first things I learned when I started riding.
Aren't you supposed to be mucking out stalls? Well, that's what I wanted to talk to you about.
I don't mind doing it.
I've mucked out plenty of stables in my life.
I'll keep going if you want me to.
It's not really helping anybody and that's what I came here to do.
Or least try to learn how to do.
I know.
The safest place I've ever felt is by a horse's side.
I thought maybe if I came here, I could learn how to communicate that to other people.
And make myself useful.
I certainly didn't mean to get under your feet.
Hold on.
(HORSE NEIGHS) I'm sensing a meltdown about to happen.
Can I please stop? You're so close.
He doesn't like me! He likes you fine.
You just need to trust that.
No.
I want to go home.
(CRYING) I want to go home.
We're all here for you, Juliette.
We all know what it's like to be stuck in the past.
Unable to break free.
Let us help you.
I know you want that.
Am I right? Yes.
I want to go back to the place you were yesterday.
Can you see it? I don't know why we have to keep going back there.
Because too much of you still lives there.
It was something you described.
A stack of bills laid out like Monopoly money.
You see it? Mm-hmm.
And the man you called "uncle"? Where is he? He's not here anymore.
Where is he? He's in the bedroom.
And your mother? Is she in the bedroom? No.
She's not? No, please! No! I am.
No.
No, please! Stop! Mom, where are you? Mom! Mommy! (CRYING) Juliette, it's okay.
You're safe.
You're safe.
You're safe.
You're all right.
How do you feel? I think I just need to sit here for a few more minutes.
You just changed your life.
You have all the time in the world.
Check, check, check.
- One, two, check.
- Check.
Hey, guys, you think I should make my vocal any brighter? I mean, not too bright.
You know, I wouldn't sound happy.
Don't look at me.
I'm fragile.
- Deacon? - Hey, y'all.
Hey.
What brings you guys out here? We come to see our favorite new band, that's all.
Before you guys break up.
We just wanna see if we can help you find a way to see if this can be something.
I'm not sure it can be something.
I might be allergic to chocolate.
I'm sorry? Never mind.
Bad analogy.
We thought we could make it work, but maybe our styles are just too different.
Isn't there some way you guys can just chill out and relax? (LAUGHS) Seriously, guys.
Can't you have a little fun? That's why you started this band in the first place, right? I mean, y'all are friends, right? Fellas, I don't know what Jessie was talking about really.
I don't know 'N Sync or boy bands and all that.
But I do know bands.
I've been in a bunch.
I've seen 'em all.
You don't have to be the same guy in this band, all right? Look at the Rolling Stones.
You got Mick up there being energetic and charismatic and sexy.
Keith, dark and broody and a little dangerous.
It just works, you know, and that's how (CELL PHONE RINGS) I'm sorry, I gotta take this.
One more thing.
Have fun.
One thing about them boy bands, everybody's smiling.
There ain't a damn thing wrong with that.
Can you pass me the toxic chemical, please? All right.
So are we not talking anymore or Works for me.
I'm the one that should be mad.
If you didn't freak out over that stupid little frog, we wouldn't even be here in the first place.
What difference does that make? We shouldn't even know each other.
You think I want to be your friend? I barely even knew your name before any of this.
Okay, and all I knew about you is that you were weird.
Well, at least you noticed me.
So I am one of those stupid people you look down on.
I didn't say you were stupid.
So what am I? I just don't understand why you had to go running to your daddy.
What are you talking about? You told your dad what I said about him.
No.
Actually, I didn't.
Yeah? Well then, how did my mom find out? The only person I told my sister.
Well, you can thank her.
Now my mom is pissed.
I've got no cell phone for two weeks.
God, I'm gonna kill her.
And I have to apologize in person which I have no idea how I'm supposed to do.
That's a little bit harsh.
Tell me about it.
My dad might hit you.
Yeah, he probably will.
It's exactly what you need.
What? Make a man outta you.
(CHUCKLES) I'm just pissed I can't blame you for those two being together.
Oh, come on.
You were playing matchmaker the whole time.
Yeah, it sucks.
You don't have to talk to me.
Thank God.
I said don't talk to me.
(HORSE SNORTS) Whoa, whoa.
It's okay.
It's okay, sweetheart.
Nobody's gonna hurt you.
It's okay.
Come on, sweetheart, come on.
I didn't want you to get squished.
Thanks.
Come on.
Good girl.
You okay, Sean? I am now.
Why don't you head on up to the corral and join the others? - Sorry.
- You did the right thing.
I did? When safety is involved, absolutely.
That's my nephew.
He's staying with us for a while.
What the heck have you done in here? I cleaned.
It hasn't been this spotless since Reagan was president.
(CHUCKLES) I have slight OCD.
Maybe you need some equine therapy.
(CHUCKLES) Care to go for a ride? Yes, ma'am.
(APPLAUSE, CHEERING) Are we doing this? Do I have a choice? - Nope.
- No? This next one is for the fangirls.
(CHEERING) It's tearing up my heart when I'm with you But when we are apart, I feel it too Oh my God! And no matter what I do I feel the pain With or without you Baby, I don't understand Just why we can't be lovers Things are getting out of hand Trying too much, but, baby We can't win Let it go If you want me, girl She used to take me to my favorite restaurant afterwards.
Let me order whatever I wanted.
I'm so sorry.
I'm not surprised.
This is a woman who murdered someone and then killed herself.
It's not like it's Snow White we're talking about here.
You have every right to the rage and betrayal you're feeling right now.
She robbed me of everything.
My childhood, my innocence.
She just keeps on taking even from beyond the grave.
It's profoundly disturbing, the pain we endure from the ones we love most.
How we recreate that dynamic over and over again in our most intimate relationships and come to think of that as love.
This is your first step toward breaking that cycle and erasing this notion of yourself that you've always had.
I hope you can see that now.
See what? You deserve to be loved.
You deserve to be happy.
Happy? I know that may seem like a foreign concept.
But in time, you'll know what it means.
And the pain? Will it ever completely go away? I can't promise you that.
But I can promise, if you stick with the training, you won't be the same person when you're through.
Next on Nashville.
Watch this.
I thought they broke up! Oh my God.
I can't keep doing this.
what? Why is it always me singing the high girly part? cause you're the one with the high girly voice.
Let's go find us a girl.
Hold on.
Hold on.
Listen.
Who is that? I'm Alannah, by the way.
You're completely obsessed with this group.
It's all you talk about day and night.
Do you even need us anymore?
