Go!
It's started, it's started!
..in a world first
Just a casual international holiday.
..two separate groups of 10
competed across Morocco
Ohh! Getting nice and dirty.
..only to be forced together
high above Chefchaouen.
Look how many there are!
What the ?
Three, two, one, go!
18 teams?!
It was really overwhelming.
Come on, Sammy!
It was Melbourne vs Sydney
and it's on.
But being first to the Pit Stop
Welcome to Chefchaouen.
..wasn't enough
Because you did not complete
the dancing challenge,
you'll serve a 30-minute penalty.
..to save the models.
This must be the first time
in race history
that you land first
and still get eliminated, right?
Tonight, we travel to
the country of gods
..Greece.
And in Athens
Three, four.
Do you think you'll pick this up?
..racers discover
the biggest targets
Is this upside down?
..may not be the challenges.
Go, girls! Go, girls!
Not us? OK.
Oi.
She's a savage bitch.
This is The Amazing Race Australia.
Chefchaouen is known as
the Blue Pearl of Morocco,
with its traditional houses
painted blue and white.
And it's from this
colour-coordinated clock tower
that teams are about to begin
the fourth leg
of The Amazing Race Australia.
"Route Info. It's time
to leave Chefchaouen."
"Make your way to Athens in Greece."
"Athens in Greece."
What?!
Oh, yes, baby!
"Athens, Greece"?
"Athens, Greece!" Are you kidding?!
Let's go!
In an unfortunate turn of events,
Kathy and Chace have been
forced out of this leg
due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
But they'll rejoin the race as
soon as they get medical clearance.
Our 16 teams have travelled 2,860km
from Morocco to Greece.
Greece is the cradle of
Western civilisation
and its capital city is Athens,
known after the Greek goddess
Malaka!
..Athena.
The birthplace of democracy,
Athens is known for its ancient ruins
and warm Mediterranean weather.
Except
Sweet Nana Mouskouri, it is snowing!
Why did I pack my Speedos?
This unexpectedly frozen metropolis
will host
the fourth leg
of The Amazing Race Australia.
Opa!
Teams will depart in the order
they arrived at the last Pit Stop.
Marked cabs. Here.
Flick, Flick, Flick.
Thank you! Let's go. And we're
in a race, so go, go, go, OK?
Thank you.
Thank you.
As we were travelling to Greece,
the exciting thing that happened,
it's our 10-year anniversary today.
Our anniversary leg!
So let's make it a successful one.
Yeah, hopefully!
Taxis here.
Yeah. Yeah.
Get in. Let's go.
Move your arm.
It doesn't fit under me.
Put your arm that way.
I can't.
Let's go.
"Take a marked taxi to
Attica Grove Theatre,
"locally known as
Theatro Katina Paxinou."
"At the theatre, you'll use
a bow and arrow
"to successfully hit a target."
Are you good at that?
I love that stuff.
Our teams are travelling from Athens
Airport to Attica Grove Theatre.
On April 6, 1896,
the modern-day Olympics, a long-lost
tradition of Ancient Greece,
was reborn here in Athens.
Now, my mum loves Olympic archery.
That's why she called me Beau.
Get it? With the bow and the
Anyway, you get it.
So before they get their next clue,
teams will have to score a bullseye.
Just like this.
Ohh! Ahhh!
So take turns. Pssh!
And then you, pssh!
And then me, pssh! Like that.
I like the soundtrack.
Pssh! Pssh!
Yeah!
'Theer-tro' Katina Paxinou?
Have you been there?
Hello?
Taxi?
Excuse me!
Excuse me, taxi!
Sir?
Yeah, I don't think
That's me.
Oh, baby, it's cold!
Let's go!
Archery. We should be
really good at archery.
We did this in Tasmania.
We did!
On church camp.
Uh Oh, Tones.
No, no, no.
As fast as you can, please!
Greece, we're coming for you!
When I think of Greece, I think of
beautiful turquoise waters,
beautiful Adonis men, great food -
not snow.
Caesar.
Caesar.
Pretty sure Caesar came from Greece.
Let's go.
Go, go.
Let's go.
Two, three.
To the left. Oh, there it is.
Go, go, go. This way, this way.
Let's go.
We were first to arrive
at the archery.
We were excited for that,
'cause we're both a bit hands-on.
Yeah. Thank you.
Walking into the archery challenge,
it was like a
Amphitheatre, almost.
Yeah!
The bow and arrows were all set up
in, like, a half-circle.
We had to
..hit the target with
a bow and arrow.
Pull?
I can't do the
Do you wanna have a try?
The target was about this big
and it was up on a hill.
It was pretty far away.
Put your bow down. Bro, bro.
Sorry.
Do you wanna go first?
Yep.
Close, Gab. Close.
Great first go.
Are you going?
Am I going or are you?
You go. Give it a crack.
So our team dynamic is that Steph's
the leader, I'm the follower.
She's a bit more confident than me,
so I kind of take her lead
with a lot of things
..um, whether it's optional or not.
Where did that one land, Lauren?
It was just off to the right.
Off to the right?
Yep. That was a very good shot.
It's alright, B. Keep going.
What the heck?
Take your time, hon.
Efcharisto.
Thank you!
Thank you so much!
Yassou!
You got it, Frankie.
Going into the archery challenge,
I kinda had a
I felt really confident going in,
'cause I've done
a lot of it growing up.
Go again!
Go again, Frankie.
Yeah!
Solid, hon! That was good!
Are you gonna have
another practice one?
Shut up, Jamus.
That's not a practice.
Solid, hon.
Yeah!
Nice, babe!
No, it's not. It's not.
Don't clap until I hit the picture.
She's too good.
She's got the hang of it now.
She doesn't like being,
um, motivated, though.
Ah, I'm over it.
Here, take this now.
You do it. I don't wanna do it.
Thank you so much! You're the best!
Thank you!
Ooh! Sorry!
Let's go, Sam.
Toni, I'm all messed up.
Quick, Heath!
Oh, so close, Vinny. So close.
Stop teasing me, Vinny.
I think people definitely
underestimate us
'cause we're these
short little Asians.
People assume that, you know,
we're not very sporty or athletic.
Wha-hey! In the garden.
Growing up in a family of five,
we definitely have learned
to be quite competitive.
Especially at the dinner table!
Yeah.
Like, you've just gotta grab
what's there, you know?
Otherwise you don't get food,
at the end of the day!
I don't get it.
Is this upside down?
I think Is this the right hand?
Are you having trouble
clicking it in?
Where's it go? Is it here?
Yours is upside down.
What do you mean?
The writing's upside down.
Like that?
Oh, shit, I'm still holding it
the wrong way!
OK, this is a left-handed one.
Thank you!
Have a lovely day!
Hi, kids.
Hello!
We must be last again.
Do you have the clue?
And it's snowing!
Go, Gabba. Yes, Gabby!
Alright, alright, alright.
Flick, that's enough.
Be nice!
We are sisters and we just,
like, complement each other
and it just works.
We're like a package, you know?
Yeah.
A negative and a minus
on a battery works well.
Oh, a negative
A negative
..and a positive.
Isn't negative and positive negative?
You got this, sis.
Yes! Yes!
Whoo-hoo!
Alright.
Let's go, let's go! Feeling good.
"Make your way by taxi
to the Temple of Poseidon.
"Learn the provided Aesop fable
"and perform it for
the thespian judge"
"..to receive your next clue."
Come on!
Built 2,500 years ago
to venerate the god of the sea,
the temple is one of the most
spectacular monuments
from the Athenian golden age.
In this challenge, teams must appease
Poseidon himself
by memorising and then reciting five
verses of an ancient fable in unison.
If they make a mistake, it's
back to the end of the queue.
And only when the gods are pleased
will they receive their next clue.
Alright, let's go.
Temple of Poseidon.
Yes!
Oh, yes!
Check, please!
Check, please.
Dude, you killed it.
Yes!
Thank you! Thank you.
Yeah! Thank you, man.
Thank you!
Whoo-hoo!
"Make your way by taxi to"
"..the Temple of Poseidon."
"Learn the provided Aesop fable
and perform it for the thespian"
"..judge to receive your next clue."
Bugger.
I'm so proud of you! Good work, babe!
You got this. Focus.
Yes!
Frank's the god of war, mate.
Oh, really? Let's go! Yeww!
Yeah! Check, check!
Ooh, yes. Good job, babe.
"Make your way by taxi
to the Temple of Poseidon."
"Learn the provided Aesop fable"
"..to receive your next clue."
OK. Let's go.
"During this time in the taxi, you
must memorise the fable provided."
We had to remember this very long
Fable.
..fable.
"One day a boasting rabbit"
"One day a boasting hare"
Yep. Sorry.
That's alright.
One day
Think
We love our hair. Hare. Hare.
I know it's hare.
I know, but for some reason,
I'm saying 'rabbit'.
That's alright. Just get it
in your head it's 'hare'.
Alright. Three, two, one.
"One day a boasting hare
"was challenged to a race."
No! It ends with 'race'.
Oh, my God. It's harder
to say it together.
Oh, my God, it's easier
to give evidence in court
..than recite a rhyme.
This is the story of the tortoise
and thehare.
Well, II've never heard it.
Of the turtle and the rabbit.
Never heard it.
Slow and steady wins the race.
You're Did you not Anyway.
Oh!
Bang, bang.
Yes! Oh, check!
Oh, I got one! Yay!
Yes, Heath! Come on!
Yeah, baby!
Good stuff.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Whoo!
OK. What's it say?
"Make your way by taxi
to the Temple of Poseidon."
"Learn the provided Aesop fable"
"..to receive your next clue."
Let's go!
Let's go! Let's go!
One day
One day, a boasting hare was
I can't I can't concentrate
when you're doing that voice.
"'Yes,' said the hare,
so sure of his pace."
Don't know the next part.
"Hare zoomed"
Shh
"Hare"
This is gonna be easy for us.
This is a nursery rhyme.
We say to our kids
before we go to bed.
I hope so. Let's not get cocky.
"Hare woke from his snooze."
"Too much time had passed.
"So the boasting hare
"crossed the finish line"
That's what I mean, you gotta
No, no. You suck.
You're gonna kill my vibe.
This is your shocking problem.
This is your shocking problem.
Can you wipe your nose?
It's running still.
My memory's terrible,
so this is, like, my
Achilles
Ahhh! In Greece!
Oh, and we're in Greece!
Let's go, babe.
Lauren. Ready to go?
Ohh, it's cold!
Yeah, it is.
Oh, my gosh, Lauren. Look at it.
Oh, my gosh.
We were super stressed, because
we rocked up at the same time
as about four other teams.
OK. Are we ready yet or not?
Huh?
Are we ready yet?
Hello!
We're ready to perform for you.
Three, two, one.
"One day, a boasting hare
"was challenged by a tortoise
to a race.
"'Yes,' said the hare,
so sure of his pace.
"Hare zoomed out of sight,
he didn't look back.
"He was so far in front"
Oh, sorry.
I got distracted by this beauty!
OK. Ready.
One, two, three.
"One day, a boasting hare
"Was challenged to a race"
..by a tortoise.
Babe, hold on. Stop.
Oh.
Are we allowed to go again?
No? OK.
This challenge was so hard.
It's just crazy.
Yeah, I started to panic then,
'cause I thought, "We're gonna
lose so much time here."
We're not ready.
It was super frustrating,
and I was just thinking,
"Stay calm, stay calm."
You know, once we lose the plot,
that's where you lose your position.
"Tortoise felt very defeated."
"Tortoise felt very defeated."
Sam
One team's We've only
got two more teams left.
Only got two teams left.
We're at the back of the pack.
At the back of the pack, yet again.
Yet again.
Check, check!
Check!
Um, I think she just got it.
Let's do this!
Are we the last team?
We're the last team.
We're the last team here!
I've got the stage to myself.
OK.
Where'd that go?
That went off into the forest.
Look at me.
Yeah.
Alright, ready? One, two, three.
"One day, a boasting hare
was challenged"
"..poo a race." Oh, God!
Thank you!
Two, one.
"One day, a boasting hare was
challenged by a tortoise to a race.
"'Yes,' said the hare,
so sure of his pace."
"Moral of the story is
"Those who brag about
their lightning pace
"must always remember
slow and steady wins the race."
Yes! Yes! Whoo-hoo!
"Detour. Step Up or Step Down."
A Detour is a choice
between two challenges,
each with its own pros and cons.
In Step Up,
teams will become Greek soldiers.
The Evzones are a special unit
of the Hellenic Army
that have been guarding the monument
of the unknown soldier
since 1868.
Teams must replicate each step,
carry and position a gun precisely,
and, most importantly,
keep a straight face
throughout the entire march.
And once the soldiers deem
their efforts a success,
they'll receive their next clue.
Boys, where are you going?
Boys, are
I took a 14-hour flight for this!
Teams that choose Step Down
must construct a pair
of Greek sandals
and then test them out
with a three-legged race.
Once this guy's happy,
they'll receive their next clue.
Um
I don't care which one you choose.
Just choose.
Alright. Step Down.
Come on. Go, girls. Go, girls.
Not us? OK.
Hey. Oi.
Oh, yeah! Go you guys too,
obviously!
Hey, you just need to focus.
Don't worry about them.
I reckon we're getting
the bad vibe from everyone
because they know that
we are a strong team.
And, um
Yeah, it's just hard.
'Cause we are nice people!
We're genuine people, yeah.
Let's go!
Thank you!
Quick, let's get in line. Let's
get in line. Let's get in line.
"Too much time had passed"
Let's go back. We're not ready.
OK.
"The moral of the story is
"..slow and steady wins the race."
Yeah!
Thank you!
"Detour." Oh, no.
Oh, gosh.
Presidential Guard routine,
probably.
Yeah, let's do that.
Let's do that? OK.
After completing their fables,
teams have to taxi back to Athens
to get to the Detour location.
What did that orange girl
say to you?
Did she say something?
Yeah.
'Cause you said, "Good luck,"
and she said
"What about us?"
Oh.
Like that.
People are getting in our heads.
We can't let that affect us
having fun.
Yeah, but people are
being rude to us
and there's no need for it, like
What I'm saying is we don't
need to waste our energy.
Oh, I didn't waste my energy.
I felt good saying it.
She's a savage bitch.
We just need one arrow.
One arrow.
Yes!
I thought for sure we were out!
Yay!
Thank you!
Thank you, thank you! Ooh!
Ooh!
"Make your way by taxi
to the Temple of Poseidon."
Taxi!
I'm late for my performance!
Come on, Vinny. Come on, mate.
Come on, double time.
Quick, Heath.
Oh, this is gonna be
a challenging one.
This is gonna be terrible.
OK.
Three, two, one.
"..must always remember
slow and steady wins the race."
Thank you!
"Detour. Step Up or Step Down."
Traditional Presidential Guard.
Alright, let's do that.
OK, let's do that.
"The moral of the story is
"those who brag about lightning pace
"must always remember
slow and steady wins the race."
Yes!
Thank you!
Thank you!
Oh, my God. Thank God!
Step Up or Step Down?
I was thinking Step Up.
Step Up? Yep, OK.
Step Up. Let's do that.
Let's go.
"One day, a boasting hare
"was challenged by
a tortoise to a race.
"'Yes,' said the hare,
so sure of his face."
Ohh!
Should we start from the top?
OK.
Without looking at it?
Um
I can't even remember.
The team that's gonna struggle
are the old mums, 'cause
They've surely sung songs
to their kids.
Their memories would be shot
'cause they're old.
"He didn't look back
and was so"
"..out in front."
"And was so"
They say that dementia
comes at an older age,
and I feel like
it's at that stage now
where it might possibly
be setting in.
Thank you!
Shit.
Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit.
Sorry, sorry, sorry. Got it.
Thank you!
Alright, let's go, brother.
OK. Quick.
We've gotta find a space there
so we can keep practising, yeah?
Hello!
Hello!
You look cool!
Alright.
"Hare woke from his snooze
Ohh!
Arrgh!
Poseidon is a bit iffy on us.
He didn't really like us that much.
"One day
"One day, a boast"
Shh. "One day, a boasting hare"
I can't look at you and do it.
OK.
Ready?
Yeah.
"Hare"
"Sleeping by the roadside"
"Hare walked from his"
No, Toni
Go on?
Yeah.
Ugh!
"Hare zoomed out of sight,
he didn't look back.
"He was so far in front
he took a snooze on the track."
"The moral of the story is
"..slow and steady wins the race."
We did it! We did it!
Oh, my God!
Yes! Thank you!
Yes!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Here goes.
"Detour. Step Up or Step Down."
Let's do Step Down.
We're doing Step Down.
So we're gonna do Step Down.
OK, let's go.
Are they at the same place?
Let's decide in the car.
Oh, my God,
where's our taxi gone?
Where did he go?
Here, here!
Oh, here, here, here!
What's he doing? Get out of the car!
Why's he gotta get
out of the car for?
I thought
He doesn't need to get out.
You didn't know which taxi
Shut up!
Don't tell me to shut up!
Quick, quick, quick, quick, quick.
Quick, quick.
Wanna go back, huh?
Yes, yes.
Yes, but you need to hurry, hurry.
Contain yourself, Chelsea.
Shush up, Jamus.
If you want me to contain myself,
then you better be quiet.
I'm cold, I'm angry
She doesn't even want my hugs.
I don't, I don't.
Don't laugh like that!
Sorry. Sorry.
Laugh that way.
Stop!
No!
Let's go, let's go, let's go!
Don't let them beat us.
Coming up
All hail Poseidon!
All hail Poseidon!
..teams rip through fables
Yes!
Oh! Thank you so much!
..but hit the skids at the Detour.
We have five minutes
to train you.
Time is of the essence.
We've gotta make
a split decision here.
No!
No.
Wait. Not that big, Reem!
I'm sorry, I cannot pass you.
You need to try again.
Step Up that way.
Sign's this way.
Must be in here.
Yeah, there's the platform.
You need to go
dress yourselves.
Oh, dress first. OK.
We were actually
the first to arrive.
Yep.
So we were the first
getting changed.
Big size.
Same.
Alright, let's go, go, go.
Oh, leggings.
Leggings. Shit.
How you going, Lauren?
Good.
Just want to get
these on quick so we can
get started before
other teams get here.
Yep.
I think it's gonna get pretty crazy.
What does this remind you of?
Getting dressed up on Mardi Gras
on the side of the street.
We're just missing the glitter.
That's it.
Chelsea!
Thank you. Thank you.
OK.
This is cool. Oh!
Oh, babe, you look so cute.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Let's go.
Oh, there are so many people there!
Oh! I got a big head.
Hats are always difficult for me.
Take those pants off.
You reckon?
Where's the male's wear?
That is what the males wear.
That?
Is this a skirt?
He was so happy.
Just put a skirt on him.
We're not too far away
from the place.
- We've memorised the rules.
- We'll get this one.
One-hit wonder, like some
of the best songs in the world.
Thank you, Celine Dion.
This will be
Celine Dion's not a one-hit wonder,
thank you very much.
"Those who brag
about their lightning pace"
"..must always remember
slow and steady wins the race."
Yay!
Thank you so much!
You Greek god!
Yes!
Thank you, thank you!
We think Step Down.
Cool. Let's go.
Make two pairs
of classic Greek sandals.
Step Down, Step Down. Let's go.
Yeah, yeah.
You know Greek sandals?
Yeah.
They're like I don't know.
Straw or something.
Oh, my gosh. Come on, Alex.
We need to get there.
Thank you so much.
What a beautiful view.
That is so awesome.
I wonder how old it is.
Thank you.
Thank you, thank you!
'Bye! Thank you!
It has our names on it.
No, it doesn't.
Yes, it does.
Oh, it does.
Crystal Crystal and Reem. Here.
I didn't even look at that.
To do the Step Down,
we had to build a shoe.
We should be moving faster.
OK, well, hurry up.
With more urgency.
This is my foot.
OK, so I'm here. You go there.
So I gotta make this side.
You gotta make the opposite side.
Building a sandal
is very time-consuming.
They give you a template
and it's your left and right foot
and you got to mark the areas where
the holes of the shoelace go in
and you've kind of
got to use a hammer
and this nail thing
to make the holes in that.
Maybe we're supposed to hammer down
the shoe so it sticks.
Reem, no!
What?
You're not It doesn't
show you hammering the shoe.
That's what it's hammering.
It's hammering
It's here.
Alright, whatever. Just move on.
Look, sometimes I can't
admit when I'm wrong,
but she also can't admit when she's
wrong and that's when we butt heads.
You stuck it on the wrong side.
You're supposed to stick here.
She's the boss.
Oh, thank you
for finally admitting it.
You stuck it on the wrong side.
Oh, shit. How come
I didn't see that?
All hail Poseidon. Ready.
Five, six, seven, eight.
"One day, a boasting hare
"was challenged
by a tortoise to a race.
"'Yes,'" said the hare,
so sure of his pace.
"The moral of the story is
slow and steady wins the race!"
No?
Oh, my gosh! Let's read it!
Yes, one-hit wonders!
Thank you, Poseidon!
Oh, thank gosh we did that.
Absolutely great job.
My knees are still shaking.
Detour - Step Up or Step Down.
Oh, gosh.
Let's doStep Up.
Where have the taxis gone?!
It's cold!
Thank you!
Yeah, baby! Whoo!
Let's go Step Up.
Alright, let's go.
Step Up. Let's do Step Up.
Let's Step Up. Go.
We got it, bro. We got it.
Good work, boys. Good work.
"The hare zoomed out, out
of sight and he didn't look back.
"So far in front
"So far from the front" Oh!
All our people
are watching on TV, man.
Mm.
It's embarrassing.
OK.
This is so hard, bro.
While Sam and Alex
have jumped three places,
Stuart and Glennon have dropped
to the back of the pack.
Now leading the charge
is Pako and Mori,
closely followed by Lauren and Steph
and Flick and Gab.
Sir, are we ready?
You're ready.
OK, cool. Let's go.
OK, alright. OK.
Yep, thank you.
We have five minutes to train you.
After that, you need to go practise.
I cannot spend more time than that.
You need to queue, OK?
Oh, we gotta wait in the line.
There's a line, Ange.
Do this twice. You, not you.
One, two, and then lift up.
We lift the gun, OK,
and we do one, two.
Both of you, do it.
One, two.
And then again.
We chose Step Up because
it's just familiar to me
with marching 'cause
I was in the military.
I joined when I was 17
so I've got a bit
of marching experience.
I felt like that was
a better option for us
rather than making the sandals.
You do it like this
and you come here.
Right, and you do the opposite.
Awesome.
You need to lift up the gun.
Just put it on your shoulder.
90 degrees. Try to make it
be on 90 degrees.
I need you to make four steps.
You lift your hand to keep balance.
One, two, three.
And then you make Hold on.
And then you make a stop like this.
Perfect. Should we go again?
Yeah, please.
Yeah, one more. Thank you.
"..but always remember
slow and steady wins the race."
Oh, thank you, thank you.
That was annoying, man. Detour.
Can you open it?
My hands are cold, bro.
Uh, Step Up or Step Down.
We'll do Step Up.
OK, let's go, then.
Alright, let's go.
That's yours.
Grab yours.
Put on your apron
and follow the instruction booklet
on your desk to make the sandals.
We decided to do the sandal
over learning a traditional dance.
I feel like the amount of furniture
I've had to assemble from IKEA,
hopefully I will
draw on those skills now.
We got to go show them to the judge
and do a three-legged race.
Crystal didn't know
what a three-legged race was.
I've never done a three-legged race.
Alright, let's go.
Good.
Take your shoes off.
It is not sandal weather in Greece!
What? Shit!
Do you need help?
Yeah, so it's definitely
the socks and sandal look,
which is definitely
fresh out of Bankstown.
Maybe we'll start
a new fashion statement.
Ready, set, go.
Wait!
..three, go.
Not that big, Reem!
Mine's coming out.
Mine's coming out.
Mine's not tight enough.
No?
Alright, let me check
how flush this is.
No, we gotta re-glue it.
Let's go redo it.
Here, here. Which one are we doing?
Are we doing this?
Yeah.
Step Down, Step Down, Step Down.
Oh, my lordy.
They've got our shoe size.
How amazing!
OK, we're here. Whoop!
Tripping over at the beginning.
Thank you so much!
Thank you.
Step Up, Step Up.
Step Up?
I'm a bit nervous that
it's going to take us forever.
It looks a little bit difficult.
Let's go over here, Gab.
You both look beautiful.
You know that?
Thank you.
Thank you. Whoo-hoo!
Just watch these girls.
Good. No.
See how she does that?
I need to see the balance.
You must have great balance.
If I have to use flirting
to get through, amen!
Oh, I'm hoping there's a challenge
that flirting is involved.
And four.
Four.
Yeah, sort of.
You'll start with my signal
and only on my signal.
No.
I'm sorry. I cannot pass you.
You need to try again.
Can you remember these steps?
A little bit.
Do you think you're going
to pick this up?
I don't know.
If you're not feeling confident,
we're not gonna get it
so we need to decide now
whether we're going to swap.
Time is of the essence.
People are still here.
We're gonna fall behind again.
We've got to make
a split decision here.
OK, we're gonna try doing
the shoes, then.
Let's swap. Cool.
Swap Detours.
This looks too complicated.
Love the costumes,
don't love the dancing.
Did you guys finish it?
No, we're giving up.
Oh, no!
You should see the steps.
We're not giving up.
We're changing Detours.
Sorry, we're changing Detours.
Thank you.
Oh, no!
It's very complicated.
Hopefully we've made
the right decision
'cause if we haven't, we'll be
coming last at the Pit Stop
Which we don't want.
So we're going Step Down.
We need to tie those strings
through the ones we've done already.
Do you want to do it on yours?
OK, yep, yep.
Is it set? How about doing yours
'cause yours is set?
So you need to go in, in to out.
In and out, that's what
shoe tying's all about.
Oh, my gosh. Where are you
coming up with these?
Put on an apron.
Put on the apron.
So we kind of get a costume
for this one, then.
When we arrived
at the sandals Detour,
everyone was still making
their sandals, still going.
We have time to catch up.
This is our glue.
Glue, glue, we love you.
We love everything you do.
Go, glue!
Glue!
People will look at us
and just be like,
"Oh, they're loud, they are stupid."
They'll just think
we're two fruit loops.
Two blobs running on the race.
Yeah.
There's method to our madness.
Yes, there is.
We know what we're doing.
Oh, wow! Oh, wow! Love that.
Wow.
Two.
Four, five
Go. Yeah.
Two, three.
Turn and face me.
Borderline.
Oh, thank you so much!
Borderline.
I know. Thank you.
"Travel on foot to Taverna Platanos
and feed each other
"a portion of one of Greece's
most popular dishes, spanakopita."
In this challenge, teams
must come here to Platanos,
one of the oldest tavernas in Athens.
Now, when it comes to Greek food,
you got plenty to choose from,
but nothing beats my absolute
favourite, spanakopita,
and I've been baking these
for three hours in the kitchen
with head chef Nikos, my good mate.
I grew up with him.
Now, all the teams have gotta do
is eat one entire spanakopita
by feeding each other half each,
then they'll get their next clue,
just like this.
Alright, let's go. Come on.
Drop the gun.
The first guy
that taught us was, um
He wasn't good.
He wasn't a good teacher. Sorry.
I don't remember
anything that he said.
Yeah, no. Well, look here.
This guy's better.
This guy's a better teacher.
Over here. We watch and do it.
Then we decided
to go over to the next guy.
OK, let's go to this guy.
Let's just go
There's a line here.
They've already had their practice.
They're not getting another practice.
Yeah, look, this one.
Oh, no, we're next, guys.
You guys have already
had a practice run.
Did you go just before these guys?
So you No, we went
We were waiting after them.
It's alright. We can all
watch together as well, alright?
That's what I'm saying,
is that we haven't
I think they were with him, but
that's OK. That's fine, that's fine.
That's alright. We were just
waiting. That's all good.
We did, but we waited in line
for you 'cause we wanted
You haven't done it at all?
No, no, we haven't done it.
Focus on this. Look at me.
We would love to beat
Angel and Frankie.
We probably haven't
clicked with them
like we've clicked
with everyone else.
I don't understand why,
what we did wrong,
maybe if it's 'cause
we're Melbourne teams or not,
but we try and try to be nice
and it's always, like, backhanded.
Yeah, they're a bit sassy,
a bit arrogant.
You were first or them?
We don't know.
They've been here the whole time.
But we moved and waited
in line here for you.
We want to win.
You know, we're Christians
and we want to be good to people
and we want to love people,
but we also gotta be competitive
and I think those two are,
like, really contradicting.
Want me to show you the whole thing?
Yeah.
How far would we go to win 250 K?
We'll have to wait and see.
I'm still rocking
one of my sandals.
At least we know we made it well.
So we failed the first time
due to it being not as flush.
So we had to put the shoelace thing
more down and fold it in more
so when you put the glue,
it kind of sits more flush.
Is he being pretty tight
on the flushness of it?
He's being pretty tight
on how flush it is?
Yeah, very tight.
Yeah.
Does 'flush' just mean stuck on top?
No, it means that there's no gap.
Oh.
And also one of the heels came off
so we have to redo that one.
I feel like my orthotics teacher's
going to give me a zero for this.
Did you ever think you'd be building
a pair of shoes in Greece?
This is like thongs
you get from Bali.
Don't whiff that. Eugh!
You just hold pressure on this one.
Can you try and sand
that bottom bit?
'Cause I can't sand
What have you done here?!
That's my glue!
Oh, my God.
Yeah, a bloody mountain full of it.
Step Up, is it? Left.
Step Up.
Yep.
Everyone's still here, bro.
It was awesome
seeing other teams there
'cause we were like, "Yes,
we've still got a chance."
Oh, baby, baby. Oh!
Boom.
Like that?
Yep.
Alright, YOLO.
Trust yourself. Trust yourself.
Hello!
One person here,
one person there.
Yes, boss.
Trust yourself.
It's this one.
Yep.
Truly borderline.
Thank you! Thank you!
Yes, yes, yes! Thank you so much.
Thank you, thank you.
Thank you!
Attention.
Alright, let's do it. What's next?
Oh, no, my fingers are so cold.
"Travel on foot to Taverna Platanos
and feed each other"
Spanakopita!
"..to receive your next clue."
Let's go.
Alright, let's go. Yum!
Attention.
Good effort.
Oh!
Thank you so much.
Thank you, sir.
Thank you.
Two, three
Four.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
We were really good, hey?
Yeah.
We smashed it.
I loved it by the end.
"..feed each other
a portion of
"..span-a"
"..ko-pita
to receive your next clue."
OK, let's go.
OK.
One, two, three.
Three, two, one.
Three, two, one. Three, two, one!
Three, two, one.
Do you like the socks as part
of the fashion statement?
You buy? $10.
Thank you!
Thank you. Let's go get our shoes.
"Travel on foot to feed each other
"a portion of one of Greece's
most popular dishes"
Oh, yeah, I like spanakopita.
"..to receive your next clue."
We were just looking down the alleys
where we just finished the Detour.
How are we supposed
to find this place?
We're from Australia
and we're trying to find this pub.
Taverna Platanos
I don't know
how to say that.
It must be back there.
Do you know where that is?
These travel-on-foots,
you think they're gonna be
a lot easier than they actually are.
Yeah.
Shit.
Oh, my God.
We're lost.
Coming up, a Greek pastry
is hard to swallow
Get it down.
..and teams stumble on Step Down.
It's gone again.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no!
We weren't meant to bang that.
We were meant to bang THAT.
Oh, no, this thing came out.
I need to fix it, Vinny.
So let's go ask here.
We have to find Taverna Platanos
and eat a traditional Greek dish.
But we had to travel on foot,
which was the problem for us.
We got a bit lost.
Excuse me, could you help us?
Could you google on your phone?
- There, Flicka, you see it?
- Yeah, no, I think so.
This is the laneway.
Yeah.
Hello!
Hello!
How are you?
How are you?
Happy!
Yeah, hello.
There is nothing better
than doing an eating challenge
when you want to try the food,
when you want the food,
you're hungry for it.
And we're big eaters.
Hungry! Starving!
And we're not like
pretend big eaters.
No, we're big eaters.
We're ready to eat.
Eat, yes.
Yeah.
Spanakopita.
Oh, spanakopita!
Spanakopita is delicious.
It's delicious.
It is cheese and spinach
wrapped in crunchy filo pastry.
"You must both consume
a full portion each."
Chef, this one portion?
Yeah, one portion. Here, Flicka.
So I have to feed it to you?
Yep.
"Feed each other a portion of"
Yep, OK.
Alright?
Yep, let's go.
I'll feed you, you feed me.
Yeah, this is your one.
I'll take a bite?
Yeah, bite's easier.
Oh, feed me.
Span-a-kop-i-ta.
Get it down. Get it down, bro.
I feel really defeated, really flat.
We were at the top, I felt.
Not now, definitely.
I need to use the toilet.
Yeah.
This is Oh!
Watch out.
See it?
Here!
- Good job, babe.
- Oh, shit.
Yes! Here it is, Taverna Platanos.
Yep, here.
OK.
This looks delicious.
Welcome.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
As you can see, we're not
averse to an eating challenge.
We do well.
These bodies take work.
What's this?
I no speak English.
Only speak Greek.
I'm sorry.
It's alright. Thank you.
Feed each other.
I know. Give me a second.
Oh, no, my heel's sliding off.
There's lots of instructions
to make sandals.
You've got to lay out the sole
of the sandal, glue on the heel,
then you've got to punch some holes
into the leather top.
Oh, no, we weren't
meant to bang that.
We were meant to bang THAT, because
that's the bottom of the shoe.
Whoopsie!
Whoopsie!
Alright, do you want
to pick up the ones we've got?
'Cause we now have to put them on,
don't we, and do a foot race.
It's holding. Look. It's holding.
Looks good to me, but probably not
the judge will be happy with it.
Alright, let's go.
Nice and tight. Ooh.
Oh, no, this thing came out!
I need to fix it, Vinny.
OK.
I think we both do quite well
under pressure.
You know, we're both quite stoic.
Tammy, as a vet, an emergency
and critical care vet,
she's very used to dealing with
those high pressure,
tense situations.
Oh, my God!
Tammy, Tammy, Tammy!
Wait. Something
What?
I don't know what this is from.
This is
Span-a-kop-i-ta.
Her favourite.
Spanakopita.
Really nice.
Pastry.
Some Spanish I mean, not Spanish.
We're not in Spain.
We're not in Spain.
Ahh!
Yum, yum, yum. Thank you!
Whoo-hoo!
Opa, opa, opa!
It was delicious.
I loved every minute of it.
I want more.
Yep, yep.
"Race to Kotzia Square
to find Beau at the Pit Stop."
Our 16 teams have got to come and
find me here at Athens Town Hall,
which is the Pit Stop for the fourth
leg of The Amazing Race Australia.
And this is Mr Greece,
the sexiest man in Europe.
How are you, Spiro?
Welcome to Greece.
He's the best-looking person I know,
and I know Ricky Martin.
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
Let's go.
Let's go! Come on.
Does it say travel on foot?
Yes.
Thank you so much. Thank you.
Thank you. Thank you.
Ahh!
Hey, hey, hey!
Thank you.
Can I have one takeaway?
No, no, no!
No takeaway?
Uh
Route Info.
OK.
OK.
"Race to Kotzia Square
and find Beau at the Pit Stop."
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
Go.
Let's go.
Yeah, that's where
I keep going wrong.
OK, start again.
My thing's falling down.
Wait, wait, wait.
Oh, man! Come on.
Wait. I gotta
We don't have time for this, hon.
Well, what am I gonna do?
Jamus is really good
at trying to lift my spirits.
It's my job. It's not
Are you kidding?
It's your job?
Mate, you better get out of here.
You know it's my job.
I always lift you up, hon.
Wardrobe malfunction,
wardrobe malfunction.
OK, ready? One No, me on my own.
Oh, yeah, sorry.
I'm very grateful
that he does what he does
because otherwise I'd be in
a shitty mood for a long time.
I'm so immune to it.
You know what? I'm taking back
every nice word I just said.
Far out. This is tough.
Oh, it's gone again.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no!
You good?
My fingers
Like, I literally don't
have feeling in them.
Georgia, you're wearing gloves.
I'm not even wearing gloves
and I'm fine, so
OK, like, I'm telling you
that my fingers are hurting.
But you're gonna be fine.
You're good at threading,
so how about I start sanding these
while you're threading?
OK.
Let me just Can you
help me stand up, please?
OK, ready?
Yep.
That bloody sandal challenge.
Pretty stressful, to be honest,
'cause we were trying
to make up time.
Left Oh, wait.
Outer, inner.
OK, yeah.
Inner.
Inner, outer.
Inner, outer. Inner, outer.
Inner, outer.
Oh, God. No, the sole's coming off.
What's the name of the place?
Kotzia.
Huh?
Kotzia Square.
Do you know where Kotzia Square?
What?
Kotzia Square?
We're trying to find
this Pit Stop.
We're rushing, we're asking everyone,
we can't read the signs.
Oh, map. Map.
Wait. Kotzia Square.
Nuh. Let's go.
Kotzia Square?
Yeah, go down here, Steph.
Go straight down, straight down,
straight down.
Let's go this way.
Are you cold?
Uh, yeah, I've been permanently cold
for about four days now, man.
I can't feel anything,
and I'm talking about anything,
you know what I'm saying?
Oh.
Yeah.
Walk. Hang on.
Walk
I am.
..toward the judge.
Look.
Hello. Stop touching it.
He's looking at it.
Yeah, but they don't look pretty.
Thumbs down.
They failed.
Did they?
Oh, maybe it's 'cause of
the glue on here.
Maybe.
Did you sand it?
No, 'cause you were doing
the sanding.
Oh, was I?
Yeah, you said that
you loved doing sanding.
Oh, I feel like you said that to me.
You were threading them.
Exactly, I was threading them
and you were sanding.
Oh.
Yeah!
Thank you! Thank you so much!
Thank you.
Thank you!
Yes, bro! Yes!
Oh, thank you, brother.
Thank you, bro.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Oh, my God. That's it!
- Hello!
- Hello.
Hello!
Three people have already finished.
"Consume a full portion each."
Yes, stop!
Yes, yes.
No, you're feeding me.
I'm feeding you. Stop.
You feed me. You feed me this one.
We started kinda shoving it
in each other's faces
and she's a really slow eater.
I'm trying!
Oh.
Oh, my God.
This is just so hard to swallow.
OK. OK.
Bravo!
Thank you!
Thank you, thank you!
"Race to the Kotzia Square
to find Beau at the Pit Stop.
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
OK, let's go.
Do you want to go that way?
Oh.
Ooh, watch your feet.
Watch your feet. What's that thing?
Do you wanna go see what that is?
Sorry, babe.
For what? Don't be sorry, babe.
You're great
and whatever happens, happens.
Is that a flag? Nah.
Is it? Yes. That's a team.
Oh, my God! It's a flag.
Oh, no, it's not.
Oh, my God!
It is!
Oh, my God! Oh, my God!
Welcome! Oh, welcome, welcome!
Thank you.
Thank you.
So, the chef was
the cutest thing ever.
He looked like
the character from 'Up'.
Oh, God.
..dry.
Mm.
You take your time,
you take your time.
Yes!
They got it.
I'd jump for joy,
but we're tied together.
"Travel on foot to"
"Taverna Platanos."
"..and feed each other a portion
"of one of Greece's
most popular dishes."
Spanakopita!
It's my favourite. Run.
It's actually really nice.
I like it. It's just really dry.
Ahhh.
Ahhh.
Thank you!
Whoo! Whoo!
"Find Beau at the Pit Stop.
"Hurry. The last to check in
may be eliminated."
Let's go.
OK.
Kotzia Square.
Kotzia Square.
Kotzia Square.
Where? Where? Where?
There?
They're going there, babe.
OK.
- Good work, Ange.
- Yeah.
Let's go. Smash it.
I think the hardest thing
was finding the Pit Stop.
Yeah, the cop ladies helped us out
a bit with their directions.
They weren't trying to help us out.
They were just trying to find
the place and we were, like,
"Let's just follow them."
Alright, crossing.
I'm pretty sure they were trying
to ditch us, but we were, like,
"Oh, we can just run together,"
and we're just, like,
running alongside them, like,
"Yeah, keep going!
We'll just follow you."
- Walk, walk, walk.
- Slay!
Oh!
Our sandals just weren't walking
the walk and talking the talk,
so the panic really
did start to set in.
Right, well, do you want to do
the dancing, then?
Let's just do the dance.
We're not gonna get it done.
Are you sure?
Yeah.
Well, we're gonna have to put the
costumes on, so start stripping.
So, we decided to switch back
to the marching challenge.
There better be
a good dancing teacher.
Oh, my God.
We have to ask more people.
Yeah.
We don't know where we're going.
We're in the middle of Greece.
We have no idea where we are
and we may have spent way too long
Running around.
..finding this Pit Stop.
Do you guys speak English?
Can you help us find some place?
Where are you going?
Oh, we just need help
to get to Kotzia Square.
- Come on, ladies.
- Come on, girls.
Push!
Good job, guys.
Straight ahead, ladies.
Keep pushing, keep pushing!
Good job.
Finish strong!
We can't lose them.
Here! It's here, ladies!
Girls, girls, girls! Here!
This is it, babe.
You're doing great.
Girls, here!
Come on!
Come on, ladies! Come on!
Yes.
Run!
Oh, here they are. Here they are.
Come on, Frankie.
Oh, yes, they're starting to come.
We're gonna warm up.
We're gonna warm up, brother.
Ready?
Jump.
Shot, girls.
Welcome to Athens.
Oh, thank you!
Thank you!
Angel and Frankie,
you are the first team to check in.
Unbelievable.
We were so close.
Lauren and Steph,
you are the second team to check in.
Good job, guys. Good job.
That was close.
Couldn't get you at the end.
Terrific effort, guys.
You know what that means.
One step closer to the biggest prize
in Amazing Race Australia history.
250 grand, cash. No tax. No tax.
No tax.
Amazing.
Stop it.
And two brand-new Isuzus.
Yeah, $250,000 would change
our lives immensely, you know.
We actually might be able
to go on an actual holiday together
that isn't under the pressure
of the race.
Today was tough.
You've had a lot of travel.
Go and get warm
and I'll see you soon. Well done.
Guys, bring it in. Oh.
Oh, whoa, thank you.
Thanks, Beau. Thank you.
Thank you.
We can do this. Turn around. Yep.
By this stage,
there was no-one else left.
Everyone had left
the dancing challenge.
Let's march like
we've never marched before.
OK. Go here.
Present here.
And here comes again our left.
Left foot one. Huh. Down.
Right. Huh. Down.
That's it. That's the whole thing.
Oh.
Oh.
Maybe we should've done this earlier.
I agree.
Let's go practise.
One, two.
Two.
One, two.
Yes!
Thank you, mate. You're a champion.
Let's go back to get our shoes.
Quick.
One, two, three.
Step back in that one.
Yes!
Thank you so much!
Yeah, baby!
Oh, thank you so much!
Thank you! Good job.
"Travel on foot to
"Taverna Platanos."
"And feed each other a portion of
one of Greece's most popular dishes,
"spanakopita."
"..'spantania',
to receive the next clue."
OK.
Let's go.
Oh, here they are, the girls.
Girls.
- Welcome to Athens.
- Thank you.
Flick and Gabby,
you are the third team to check in.
Oh, you're kidding. You're kidding.
I thought we were last.
Yeah, I know.
This is Mr Greece.
Hey.
Oh!
Yeah.
Hottest man in Greece?
Hottest man in Greece.
Whoa!
Are you?
In my opinion,
the sexiest man in Europe.
Whoa! Wow!
The second.
Well, you
I'm not European.
Yeah.
Alright, girls, go and get warm.
Well done.
Quick, quick, quick,
quick, quick, quick.
Welcome!
How do you even say it?
We just ate, uh
..kopite
I don't even know
what it's called at all.
Spanakopita.
Mm, mm.
- Ahhh.
- Ahhh.
Yes! Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you!
Good work, girls!
Yes!
Come on. Pick up one.
Eat.
Ahhh.
Ahhh.
Yeah! Let's go!
Ahhh.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Aaah! Thank you!
Let's just go.
Let's go.
This has been the worst night ever.
Just be nice, Chelsea!
Be quiet. Don't talk to me.
Don't be a dick.
No, you're a dick.
Yeah?
Hello.
Hello.
Yay!
Yay!
Thank you. High five.
Thank you.
Ready? Three, two, one.
Go.
Oh, yeah!
"Most popular dish, spanakopita,
to receive your next clue."
Alright, let's go.
One, two, three. Back.
Swing twice.
One, two, three, four. Back.
Borderline, but a pass.
Oh! Thank God for that.
Thank you so much.
Can I hug you? Thank you.
Thank you!
Right!
"Travel on foot to Taverna Platanos
to receive your next clue."
OK.
Hello. Are you from Athens?
Do you know where is Kotzia Square?
Come, Pako. It's there. It's there.
That's the square.
I need to pee!
I don't know if they've seen us.
Holy shit.
Boys.
Pako and Mori,
you are the fourth team to check in.
Oh!
It's our 10-year anniversary today.
Is it?
Yeah.
10 years?!
And we just wanted to not come last.
Well done. Happy anniversary.
Congratulations.
Well done.
Go, go, go!
- Welcome to Athens.
- Thank you.
Crystal and Reem
Yeah?
..you are the fifth team
to check in, girls.
Oh, my God! We did it again.
You know I like you guys.
Good job. Bring it in.
Thank you.
Go and get warm, go get a yiros and
I'll see you soon. This way, girls.
Ahhh.
Thank you.
Yay! Thank you so much.
"Race to the Kotzia Square
to find Beau at the Pit Stop.
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated." Let's go.
Oh, my God.
Flags, flags, flags, flags.
Let's run! Let's run! Come on!
OK.
Tiffany and Cynthia,
you are the sixth team to check in.
Oh, my gosh!
Yes!
Stuart and Glennon, you are
the seventh team to check in.
Aah!
Yep.
Oh, my God.
Where is it?
Can you see it anywhere?
Taverna Platanos.
Go, go, go, go. Come on.
Start feeding each other.
Yes, yes.
Big mouth.
Feed me, feed me, feed me. Feed me.
- Dry.
- Oh, my God. I'm so sorry.
Coming up
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
OK, let's go.
Go.
..a race to the mat
Where is he?
..where every step counts.
Let's find the Pit Stop.
Pit Stop. Pit Stop.
Oh, down here.
Who will go home?
You are the last team to check in.
Oh, man!
Quick! Where is he?
Welcome to Athens.
Chelsea and Jamus,
you are the eighth team to check in.
Beep-beep.
Quick.
Jodie and Claire,
you are the ninth team to check in.
I just want to wake up
in a better mood.
Go to bed and hopefully
wake up in a better mood.
That's all I want
to take from this today.
I got nothing to say.
Yeah. That's probably it.
Yeah.
- Ahhh.
- Aaah!
Thank you so much.
Thank you. That was delicious.
- Ahhh.
- Aaah.
Whoo! Thank you! Whoo!
Bring it in.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Yes.
Welcome to Athens.
Thank you.
Thank you so much. Great to be here.
Kelly and Georgia,
you are the 10th team to check in.
Let's go.
That was hard.
Congratulations.
Thank you so much.
Good job.
Thank you.
This is their honeymoon. Yeah.
Stupid honeymoon.
Yeah.
Ahhh.
Thank you,
thank you, thank you.
Come on, buddy. You got it.
Ahhh.
Ahhh.
Thank you, thank you.
"Race to the Kotzia Square
to find Beau at the Pit Stop."
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
Alright, let's go.
Let's go.
Ahhh.
Nuh? Still going?
Mm.
Ahhh.
Yay!
Thank you, thank you,
thank you, thank you.
There we go.
"Race to the Kotzia Square
to find Beau at the Pit Stop.
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated.
Hello! Taxi! Taxi!
Yeah, read the clue.
Travel on foot.
No, make your way on foot.
Oh, no, we need to get out, guys.
Oh.
Get out.
You don't want taxi?
No, we have to go by foot.
I believe that
it's that direction.
Go that way?
Thank you.
Go that way. Thank you, thank you.
Kotzia Square. Yeah.
Aah!
Welcome to Athens.
Yeah!
Thank you.
Heath and Toni,
you are the 11th team to check in.
Oh, well, it's better than last.
Well done.
Oh, my God.
Fliss and Tottie,
you are the 12th team to check in.
Bring it in, girls. Well done.
Good effort.
You can hug Mr Greece too.
It's Mr Greece.
Oh, thank you!
OK, that's enough. That's enough.
Morgan and Lilli,
you are the 13th team to check in.
Where's the Pit Stop?
Let's find the Pit Stop.
Where's the Pit Stop, Pit Stop?
Kotzia Square. This way.
All the way. Thank you.
Oh, down here. Down here.
Sam and Stu, you are
..the 14th team to check in.
Oh, take that. We'll take that.
Yeah.
The siren hasn't stopped
since you got here.
Yeah, I think that's the mullets.
They're just looking too good.
We like to create a scene, so
Yeah.
Well done. Go and rest.
Thanks, mate.
Cheers, man.
Go and get warm. Go and get warm.
Appreciate it.
Congratulations.
Thank you, mate.
Wow. Wow.
Tammy and Vincent.
Wow.
Yahoo!
Tammy and Vincent,
you are the 15th team to check in
..and you're still in the race -
barely.
I think we're representing
people who just want to have a go.
Yeah, and, like, it doesn't matter
who you are as a person,
how different you think you are,
you pretty much can achieve anything
and everything that you want,
as long as you have that
determination and you don't give up.
Sam and Alex
..you are the last team
to check in
We know.
..and you are eliminated.
Unfortunately, boys,
your time in the race is over.
Good job.
High five for trying.
At least we did it.
Yeah, dream come true.
Bring it in.
Thanks, Beau.
See you soon, huh?
Thank you!
It's a pity.
Yeah. It's tough, eh?
We're going to be talking about
this Amazing Race journey
for the longest time.
Years to come. It's not gonna leave
our lips for a while, I feel.
Next time on
The Amazing Race Australia,
on the picturesque island
of Santorini
We're in Santorini!
..where the fish are fresh
Anybody want to lick their hands
right now?
I know, right?
..and the asses are big.
Whoa, whoa!
Whoa!
Ooh!
The hardest challenge
Do you know how to reverse?
Whoa, what did I hit?
..will be navigating the island.
Yeah, you're on the left
side of the road right now.
Oh, shit.
The Amazing Race Australia
Go!
It's started, it's started!
..in a world first
Just a casual international holiday.
..two separate groups of 10
competed across Morocco
Ohh! Getting nice and dirty.
..only to be forced together
high above Chefchaouen.
Look how many there are!
What the ?
Three, two, one, go!
18 teams?!
It was really overwhelming.
Come on, Sammy!
It was Melbourne vs Sydney
and it's on.
But being first to the Pit Stop
Welcome to Chefchaouen.
..wasn't enough
Because you did not complete
the dancing challenge,
you'll serve a 30-minute penalty.
..to save the models.
This must be the first time
in race history
that you land first
and still get eliminated, right?
Tonight, we travel to
the country of gods
..Greece.
And in Athens
Three, four.
Do you think you'll pick this up?
..racers discover
the biggest targets
Is this upside down?
..may not be the challenges.
Go, girls! Go, girls!
Not us? OK.
Oi.
She's a savage bitch.
This is The Amazing Race Australia.
Chefchaouen is known as
the Blue Pearl of Morocco,
with its traditional houses
painted blue and white.
And it's from this
colour-coordinated clock tower
that teams are about to begin
the fourth leg
of The Amazing Race Australia.
"Route Info. It's time
to leave Chefchaouen."
"Make your way to Athens in Greece."
"Athens in Greece."
What?!
Oh, yes, baby!
"Athens, Greece"?
"Athens, Greece!" Are you kidding?!
Let's go!
In an unfortunate turn of events,
Kathy and Chace have been
forced out of this leg
due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
But they'll rejoin the race as
soon as they get medical clearance.
Our 16 teams have travelled 2,860km
from Morocco to Greece.
Greece is the cradle of
Western civilisation
and its capital city is Athens,
known after the Greek goddess
Malaka!
..Athena.
The birthplace of democracy,
Athens is known for its ancient ruins
and warm Mediterranean weather.
Except
Sweet Nana Mouskouri, it is snowing!
Why did I pack my Speedos?
This unexpectedly frozen metropolis
will host
the fourth leg
of The Amazing Race Australia.
Opa!
Teams will depart in the order
they arrived at the last Pit Stop.
Marked cabs. Here.
Flick, Flick, Flick.
Thank you! Let's go. And we're
in a race, so go, go, go, OK?
Thank you.
Thank you.
As we were travelling to Greece,
the exciting thing that happened,
it's our 10-year anniversary today.
Our anniversary leg!
So let's make it a successful one.
Yeah, hopefully!
Taxis here.
Yeah. Yeah.
Get in. Let's go.
Move your arm.
It doesn't fit under me.
Put your arm that way.
I can't.
Let's go.
"Take a marked taxi to
Attica Grove Theatre,
"locally known as
Theatro Katina Paxinou."
"At the theatre, you'll use
a bow and arrow
"to successfully hit a target."
Are you good at that?
I love that stuff.
Our teams are travelling from Athens
Airport to Attica Grove Theatre.
On April 6, 1896,
the modern-day Olympics, a long-lost
tradition of Ancient Greece,
was reborn here in Athens.
Now, my mum loves Olympic archery.
That's why she called me Beau.
Get it? With the bow and the
Anyway, you get it.
So before they get their next clue,
teams will have to score a bullseye.
Just like this.
Ohh! Ahhh!
So take turns. Pssh!
And then you, pssh!
And then me, pssh! Like that.
I like the soundtrack.
Pssh! Pssh!
Yeah!
'Theer-tro' Katina Paxinou?
Have you been there?
Hello?
Taxi?
Excuse me!
Excuse me, taxi!
Sir?
Yeah, I don't think
That's me.
Oh, baby, it's cold!
Let's go!
Archery. We should be
really good at archery.
We did this in Tasmania.
We did!
On church camp.
Uh Oh, Tones.
No, no, no.
As fast as you can, please!
Greece, we're coming for you!
When I think of Greece, I think of
beautiful turquoise waters,
beautiful Adonis men, great food -
not snow.
Caesar.
Caesar.
Pretty sure Caesar came from Greece.
Let's go.
Go, go.
Let's go.
Two, three.
To the left. Oh, there it is.
Go, go, go. This way, this way.
Let's go.
We were first to arrive
at the archery.
We were excited for that,
'cause we're both a bit hands-on.
Yeah. Thank you.
Walking into the archery challenge,
it was like a
Amphitheatre, almost.
Yeah!
The bow and arrows were all set up
in, like, a half-circle.
We had to
..hit the target with
a bow and arrow.
Pull?
I can't do the
Do you wanna have a try?
The target was about this big
and it was up on a hill.
It was pretty far away.
Put your bow down. Bro, bro.
Sorry.
Do you wanna go first?
Yep.
Close, Gab. Close.
Great first go.
Are you going?
Am I going or are you?
You go. Give it a crack.
So our team dynamic is that Steph's
the leader, I'm the follower.
She's a bit more confident than me,
so I kind of take her lead
with a lot of things
..um, whether it's optional or not.
Where did that one land, Lauren?
It was just off to the right.
Off to the right?
Yep. That was a very good shot.
It's alright, B. Keep going.
What the heck?
Take your time, hon.
Efcharisto.
Thank you!
Thank you so much!
Yassou!
You got it, Frankie.
Going into the archery challenge,
I kinda had a
I felt really confident going in,
'cause I've done
a lot of it growing up.
Go again!
Go again, Frankie.
Yeah!
Solid, hon! That was good!
Are you gonna have
another practice one?
Shut up, Jamus.
That's not a practice.
Solid, hon.
Yeah!
Nice, babe!
No, it's not. It's not.
Don't clap until I hit the picture.
She's too good.
She's got the hang of it now.
She doesn't like being,
um, motivated, though.
Ah, I'm over it.
Here, take this now.
You do it. I don't wanna do it.
Thank you so much! You're the best!
Thank you!
Ooh! Sorry!
Let's go, Sam.
Toni, I'm all messed up.
Quick, Heath!
Oh, so close, Vinny. So close.
Stop teasing me, Vinny.
I think people definitely
underestimate us
'cause we're these
short little Asians.
People assume that, you know,
we're not very sporty or athletic.
Wha-hey! In the garden.
Growing up in a family of five,
we definitely have learned
to be quite competitive.
Especially at the dinner table!
Yeah.
Like, you've just gotta grab
what's there, you know?
Otherwise you don't get food,
at the end of the day!
I don't get it.
Is this upside down?
I think Is this the right hand?
Are you having trouble
clicking it in?
Where's it go? Is it here?
Yours is upside down.
What do you mean?
The writing's upside down.
Like that?
Oh, shit, I'm still holding it
the wrong way!
OK, this is a left-handed one.
Thank you!
Have a lovely day!
Hi, kids.
Hello!
We must be last again.
Do you have the clue?
And it's snowing!
Go, Gabba. Yes, Gabby!
Alright, alright, alright.
Flick, that's enough.
Be nice!
We are sisters and we just,
like, complement each other
and it just works.
We're like a package, you know?
Yeah.
A negative and a minus
on a battery works well.
Oh, a negative
A negative
..and a positive.
Isn't negative and positive negative?
You got this, sis.
Yes! Yes!
Whoo-hoo!
Alright.
Let's go, let's go! Feeling good.
"Make your way by taxi
to the Temple of Poseidon.
"Learn the provided Aesop fable
"and perform it for
the thespian judge"
"..to receive your next clue."
Come on!
Built 2,500 years ago
to venerate the god of the sea,
the temple is one of the most
spectacular monuments
from the Athenian golden age.
In this challenge, teams must appease
Poseidon himself
by memorising and then reciting five
verses of an ancient fable in unison.
If they make a mistake, it's
back to the end of the queue.
And only when the gods are pleased
will they receive their next clue.
Alright, let's go.
Temple of Poseidon.
Yes!
Oh, yes!
Check, please!
Check, please.
Dude, you killed it.
Yes!
Thank you! Thank you.
Yeah! Thank you, man.
Thank you!
Whoo-hoo!
"Make your way by taxi to"
"..the Temple of Poseidon."
"Learn the provided Aesop fable
and perform it for the thespian"
"..judge to receive your next clue."
Bugger.
I'm so proud of you! Good work, babe!
You got this. Focus.
Yes!
Frank's the god of war, mate.
Oh, really? Let's go! Yeww!
Yeah! Check, check!
Ooh, yes. Good job, babe.
"Make your way by taxi
to the Temple of Poseidon."
"Learn the provided Aesop fable"
"..to receive your next clue."
OK. Let's go.
"During this time in the taxi, you
must memorise the fable provided."
We had to remember this very long
Fable.
..fable.
"One day a boasting rabbit"
"One day a boasting hare"
Yep. Sorry.
That's alright.
One day
Think
We love our hair. Hare. Hare.
I know it's hare.
I know, but for some reason,
I'm saying 'rabbit'.
That's alright. Just get it
in your head it's 'hare'.
Alright. Three, two, one.
"One day a boasting hare
"was challenged to a race."
No! It ends with 'race'.
Oh, my God. It's harder
to say it together.
Oh, my God, it's easier
to give evidence in court
..than recite a rhyme.
This is the story of the tortoise
and thehare.
Well, II've never heard it.
Of the turtle and the rabbit.
Never heard it.
Slow and steady wins the race.
You're Did you not Anyway.
Oh!
Bang, bang.
Yes! Oh, check!
Oh, I got one! Yay!
Yes, Heath! Come on!
Yeah, baby!
Good stuff.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Whoo!
OK. What's it say?
"Make your way by taxi
to the Temple of Poseidon."
"Learn the provided Aesop fable"
"..to receive your next clue."
Let's go!
Let's go! Let's go!
One day
One day, a boasting hare was
I can't I can't concentrate
when you're doing that voice.
"'Yes,' said the hare,
so sure of his pace."
Don't know the next part.
"Hare zoomed"
Shh
"Hare"
This is gonna be easy for us.
This is a nursery rhyme.
We say to our kids
before we go to bed.
I hope so. Let's not get cocky.
"Hare woke from his snooze."
"Too much time had passed.
"So the boasting hare
"crossed the finish line"
That's what I mean, you gotta
No, no. You suck.
You're gonna kill my vibe.
This is your shocking problem.
This is your shocking problem.
Can you wipe your nose?
It's running still.
My memory's terrible,
so this is, like, my
Achilles
Ahhh! In Greece!
Oh, and we're in Greece!
Let's go, babe.
Lauren. Ready to go?
Ohh, it's cold!
Yeah, it is.
Oh, my gosh, Lauren. Look at it.
Oh, my gosh.
We were super stressed, because
we rocked up at the same time
as about four other teams.
OK. Are we ready yet or not?
Huh?
Are we ready yet?
Hello!
We're ready to perform for you.
Three, two, one.
"One day, a boasting hare
"was challenged by a tortoise
to a race.
"'Yes,' said the hare,
so sure of his pace.
"Hare zoomed out of sight,
he didn't look back.
"He was so far in front"
Oh, sorry.
I got distracted by this beauty!
OK. Ready.
One, two, three.
"One day, a boasting hare
"Was challenged to a race"
..by a tortoise.
Babe, hold on. Stop.
Oh.
Are we allowed to go again?
No? OK.
This challenge was so hard.
It's just crazy.
Yeah, I started to panic then,
'cause I thought, "We're gonna
lose so much time here."
We're not ready.
It was super frustrating,
and I was just thinking,
"Stay calm, stay calm."
You know, once we lose the plot,
that's where you lose your position.
"Tortoise felt very defeated."
"Tortoise felt very defeated."
Sam
One team's We've only
got two more teams left.
Only got two teams left.
We're at the back of the pack.
At the back of the pack, yet again.
Yet again.
Check, check!
Check!
Um, I think she just got it.
Let's do this!
Are we the last team?
We're the last team.
We're the last team here!
I've got the stage to myself.
OK.
Where'd that go?
That went off into the forest.
Look at me.
Yeah.
Alright, ready? One, two, three.
"One day, a boasting hare
was challenged"
"..poo a race." Oh, God!
Thank you!
Two, one.
"One day, a boasting hare was
challenged by a tortoise to a race.
"'Yes,' said the hare,
so sure of his pace."
"Moral of the story is
"Those who brag about
their lightning pace
"must always remember
slow and steady wins the race."
Yes! Yes! Whoo-hoo!
"Detour. Step Up or Step Down."
A Detour is a choice
between two challenges,
each with its own pros and cons.
In Step Up,
teams will become Greek soldiers.
The Evzones are a special unit
of the Hellenic Army
that have been guarding the monument
of the unknown soldier
since 1868.
Teams must replicate each step,
carry and position a gun precisely,
and, most importantly,
keep a straight face
throughout the entire march.
And once the soldiers deem
their efforts a success,
they'll receive their next clue.
Boys, where are you going?
Boys, are
I took a 14-hour flight for this!
Teams that choose Step Down
must construct a pair
of Greek sandals
and then test them out
with a three-legged race.
Once this guy's happy,
they'll receive their next clue.
Um
I don't care which one you choose.
Just choose.
Alright. Step Down.
Come on. Go, girls. Go, girls.
Not us? OK.
Hey. Oi.
Oh, yeah! Go you guys too,
obviously!
Hey, you just need to focus.
Don't worry about them.
I reckon we're getting
the bad vibe from everyone
because they know that
we are a strong team.
And, um
Yeah, it's just hard.
'Cause we are nice people!
We're genuine people, yeah.
Let's go!
Thank you!
Quick, let's get in line. Let's
get in line. Let's get in line.
"Too much time had passed"
Let's go back. We're not ready.
OK.
"The moral of the story is
"..slow and steady wins the race."
Yeah!
Thank you!
"Detour." Oh, no.
Oh, gosh.
Presidential Guard routine,
probably.
Yeah, let's do that.
Let's do that? OK.
After completing their fables,
teams have to taxi back to Athens
to get to the Detour location.
What did that orange girl
say to you?
Did she say something?
Yeah.
'Cause you said, "Good luck,"
and she said
"What about us?"
Oh.
Like that.
People are getting in our heads.
We can't let that affect us
having fun.
Yeah, but people are
being rude to us
and there's no need for it, like
What I'm saying is we don't
need to waste our energy.
Oh, I didn't waste my energy.
I felt good saying it.
She's a savage bitch.
We just need one arrow.
One arrow.
Yes!
I thought for sure we were out!
Yay!
Thank you!
Thank you, thank you! Ooh!
Ooh!
"Make your way by taxi
to the Temple of Poseidon."
Taxi!
I'm late for my performance!
Come on, Vinny. Come on, mate.
Come on, double time.
Quick, Heath.
Oh, this is gonna be
a challenging one.
This is gonna be terrible.
OK.
Three, two, one.
"..must always remember
slow and steady wins the race."
Thank you!
"Detour. Step Up or Step Down."
Traditional Presidential Guard.
Alright, let's do that.
OK, let's do that.
"The moral of the story is
"those who brag about lightning pace
"must always remember
slow and steady wins the race."
Yes!
Thank you!
Thank you!
Oh, my God. Thank God!
Step Up or Step Down?
I was thinking Step Up.
Step Up? Yep, OK.
Step Up. Let's do that.
Let's go.
"One day, a boasting hare
"was challenged by
a tortoise to a race.
"'Yes,' said the hare,
so sure of his face."
Ohh!
Should we start from the top?
OK.
Without looking at it?
Um
I can't even remember.
The team that's gonna struggle
are the old mums, 'cause
They've surely sung songs
to their kids.
Their memories would be shot
'cause they're old.
"He didn't look back
and was so"
"..out in front."
"And was so"
They say that dementia
comes at an older age,
and I feel like
it's at that stage now
where it might possibly
be setting in.
Thank you!
Shit.
Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit.
Sorry, sorry, sorry. Got it.
Thank you!
Alright, let's go, brother.
OK. Quick.
We've gotta find a space there
so we can keep practising, yeah?
Hello!
Hello!
You look cool!
Alright.
"Hare woke from his snooze
Ohh!
Arrgh!
Poseidon is a bit iffy on us.
He didn't really like us that much.
"One day
"One day, a boast"
Shh. "One day, a boasting hare"
I can't look at you and do it.
OK.
Ready?
Yeah.
"Hare"
"Sleeping by the roadside"
"Hare walked from his"
No, Toni
Go on?
Yeah.
Ugh!
"Hare zoomed out of sight,
he didn't look back.
"He was so far in front
he took a snooze on the track."
"The moral of the story is
"..slow and steady wins the race."
We did it! We did it!
Oh, my God!
Yes! Thank you!
Yes!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Here goes.
"Detour. Step Up or Step Down."
Let's do Step Down.
We're doing Step Down.
So we're gonna do Step Down.
OK, let's go.
Are they at the same place?
Let's decide in the car.
Oh, my God,
where's our taxi gone?
Where did he go?
Here, here!
Oh, here, here, here!
What's he doing? Get out of the car!
Why's he gotta get
out of the car for?
I thought
He doesn't need to get out.
You didn't know which taxi
Shut up!
Don't tell me to shut up!
Quick, quick, quick, quick, quick.
Quick, quick.
Wanna go back, huh?
Yes, yes.
Yes, but you need to hurry, hurry.
Contain yourself, Chelsea.
Shush up, Jamus.
If you want me to contain myself,
then you better be quiet.
I'm cold, I'm angry
She doesn't even want my hugs.
I don't, I don't.
Don't laugh like that!
Sorry. Sorry.
Laugh that way.
Stop!
No!
Let's go, let's go, let's go!
Don't let them beat us.
Coming up
All hail Poseidon!
All hail Poseidon!
..teams rip through fables
Yes!
Oh! Thank you so much!
..but hit the skids at the Detour.
We have five minutes
to train you.
Time is of the essence.
We've gotta make
a split decision here.
No!
No.
Wait. Not that big, Reem!
I'm sorry, I cannot pass you.
You need to try again.
Step Up that way.
Sign's this way.
Must be in here.
Yeah, there's the platform.
You need to go
dress yourselves.
Oh, dress first. OK.
We were actually
the first to arrive.
Yep.
So we were the first
getting changed.
Big size.
Same.
Alright, let's go, go, go.
Oh, leggings.
Leggings. Shit.
How you going, Lauren?
Good.
Just want to get
these on quick so we can
get started before
other teams get here.
Yep.
I think it's gonna get pretty crazy.
What does this remind you of?
Getting dressed up on Mardi Gras
on the side of the street.
We're just missing the glitter.
That's it.
Chelsea!
Thank you. Thank you.
OK.
This is cool. Oh!
Oh, babe, you look so cute.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Let's go.
Oh, there are so many people there!
Oh! I got a big head.
Hats are always difficult for me.
Take those pants off.
You reckon?
Where's the male's wear?
That is what the males wear.
That?
Is this a skirt?
He was so happy.
Just put a skirt on him.
We're not too far away
from the place.
- We've memorised the rules.
- We'll get this one.
One-hit wonder, like some
of the best songs in the world.
Thank you, Celine Dion.
This will be
Celine Dion's not a one-hit wonder,
thank you very much.
"Those who brag
about their lightning pace"
"..must always remember
slow and steady wins the race."
Yay!
Thank you so much!
You Greek god!
Yes!
Thank you, thank you!
We think Step Down.
Cool. Let's go.
Make two pairs
of classic Greek sandals.
Step Down, Step Down. Let's go.
Yeah, yeah.
You know Greek sandals?
Yeah.
They're like I don't know.
Straw or something.
Oh, my gosh. Come on, Alex.
We need to get there.
Thank you so much.
What a beautiful view.
That is so awesome.
I wonder how old it is.
Thank you.
Thank you, thank you!
'Bye! Thank you!
It has our names on it.
No, it doesn't.
Yes, it does.
Oh, it does.
Crystal Crystal and Reem. Here.
I didn't even look at that.
To do the Step Down,
we had to build a shoe.
We should be moving faster.
OK, well, hurry up.
With more urgency.
This is my foot.
OK, so I'm here. You go there.
So I gotta make this side.
You gotta make the opposite side.
Building a sandal
is very time-consuming.
They give you a template
and it's your left and right foot
and you got to mark the areas where
the holes of the shoelace go in
and you've kind of
got to use a hammer
and this nail thing
to make the holes in that.
Maybe we're supposed to hammer down
the shoe so it sticks.
Reem, no!
What?
You're not It doesn't
show you hammering the shoe.
That's what it's hammering.
It's hammering
It's here.
Alright, whatever. Just move on.
Look, sometimes I can't
admit when I'm wrong,
but she also can't admit when she's
wrong and that's when we butt heads.
You stuck it on the wrong side.
You're supposed to stick here.
She's the boss.
Oh, thank you
for finally admitting it.
You stuck it on the wrong side.
Oh, shit. How come
I didn't see that?
All hail Poseidon. Ready.
Five, six, seven, eight.
"One day, a boasting hare
"was challenged
by a tortoise to a race.
"'Yes,'" said the hare,
so sure of his pace.
"The moral of the story is
slow and steady wins the race!"
No?
Oh, my gosh! Let's read it!
Yes, one-hit wonders!
Thank you, Poseidon!
Oh, thank gosh we did that.
Absolutely great job.
My knees are still shaking.
Detour - Step Up or Step Down.
Oh, gosh.
Let's doStep Up.
Where have the taxis gone?!
It's cold!
Thank you!
Yeah, baby! Whoo!
Let's go Step Up.
Alright, let's go.
Step Up. Let's do Step Up.
Let's Step Up. Go.
We got it, bro. We got it.
Good work, boys. Good work.
"The hare zoomed out, out
of sight and he didn't look back.
"So far in front
"So far from the front" Oh!
All our people
are watching on TV, man.
Mm.
It's embarrassing.
OK.
This is so hard, bro.
While Sam and Alex
have jumped three places,
Stuart and Glennon have dropped
to the back of the pack.
Now leading the charge
is Pako and Mori,
closely followed by Lauren and Steph
and Flick and Gab.
Sir, are we ready?
You're ready.
OK, cool. Let's go.
OK, alright. OK.
Yep, thank you.
We have five minutes to train you.
After that, you need to go practise.
I cannot spend more time than that.
You need to queue, OK?
Oh, we gotta wait in the line.
There's a line, Ange.
Do this twice. You, not you.
One, two, and then lift up.
We lift the gun, OK,
and we do one, two.
Both of you, do it.
One, two.
And then again.
We chose Step Up because
it's just familiar to me
with marching 'cause
I was in the military.
I joined when I was 17
so I've got a bit
of marching experience.
I felt like that was
a better option for us
rather than making the sandals.
You do it like this
and you come here.
Right, and you do the opposite.
Awesome.
You need to lift up the gun.
Just put it on your shoulder.
90 degrees. Try to make it
be on 90 degrees.
I need you to make four steps.
You lift your hand to keep balance.
One, two, three.
And then you make Hold on.
And then you make a stop like this.
Perfect. Should we go again?
Yeah, please.
Yeah, one more. Thank you.
"..but always remember
slow and steady wins the race."
Oh, thank you, thank you.
That was annoying, man. Detour.
Can you open it?
My hands are cold, bro.
Uh, Step Up or Step Down.
We'll do Step Up.
OK, let's go, then.
Alright, let's go.
That's yours.
Grab yours.
Put on your apron
and follow the instruction booklet
on your desk to make the sandals.
We decided to do the sandal
over learning a traditional dance.
I feel like the amount of furniture
I've had to assemble from IKEA,
hopefully I will
draw on those skills now.
We got to go show them to the judge
and do a three-legged race.
Crystal didn't know
what a three-legged race was.
I've never done a three-legged race.
Alright, let's go.
Good.
Take your shoes off.
It is not sandal weather in Greece!
What? Shit!
Do you need help?
Yeah, so it's definitely
the socks and sandal look,
which is definitely
fresh out of Bankstown.
Maybe we'll start
a new fashion statement.
Ready, set, go.
Wait!
..three, go.
Not that big, Reem!
Mine's coming out.
Mine's coming out.
Mine's not tight enough.
No?
Alright, let me check
how flush this is.
No, we gotta re-glue it.
Let's go redo it.
Here, here. Which one are we doing?
Are we doing this?
Yeah.
Step Down, Step Down, Step Down.
Oh, my lordy.
They've got our shoe size.
How amazing!
OK, we're here. Whoop!
Tripping over at the beginning.
Thank you so much!
Thank you.
Step Up, Step Up.
Step Up?
I'm a bit nervous that
it's going to take us forever.
It looks a little bit difficult.
Let's go over here, Gab.
You both look beautiful.
You know that?
Thank you.
Thank you. Whoo-hoo!
Just watch these girls.
Good. No.
See how she does that?
I need to see the balance.
You must have great balance.
If I have to use flirting
to get through, amen!
Oh, I'm hoping there's a challenge
that flirting is involved.
And four.
Four.
Yeah, sort of.
You'll start with my signal
and only on my signal.
No.
I'm sorry. I cannot pass you.
You need to try again.
Can you remember these steps?
A little bit.
Do you think you're going
to pick this up?
I don't know.
If you're not feeling confident,
we're not gonna get it
so we need to decide now
whether we're going to swap.
Time is of the essence.
People are still here.
We're gonna fall behind again.
We've got to make
a split decision here.
OK, we're gonna try doing
the shoes, then.
Let's swap. Cool.
Swap Detours.
This looks too complicated.
Love the costumes,
don't love the dancing.
Did you guys finish it?
No, we're giving up.
Oh, no!
You should see the steps.
We're not giving up.
We're changing Detours.
Sorry, we're changing Detours.
Thank you.
Oh, no!
It's very complicated.
Hopefully we've made
the right decision
'cause if we haven't, we'll be
coming last at the Pit Stop
Which we don't want.
So we're going Step Down.
We need to tie those strings
through the ones we've done already.
Do you want to do it on yours?
OK, yep, yep.
Is it set? How about doing yours
'cause yours is set?
So you need to go in, in to out.
In and out, that's what
shoe tying's all about.
Oh, my gosh. Where are you
coming up with these?
Put on an apron.
Put on the apron.
So we kind of get a costume
for this one, then.
When we arrived
at the sandals Detour,
everyone was still making
their sandals, still going.
We have time to catch up.
This is our glue.
Glue, glue, we love you.
We love everything you do.
Go, glue!
Glue!
People will look at us
and just be like,
"Oh, they're loud, they are stupid."
They'll just think
we're two fruit loops.
Two blobs running on the race.
Yeah.
There's method to our madness.
Yes, there is.
We know what we're doing.
Oh, wow! Oh, wow! Love that.
Wow.
Two.
Four, five
Go. Yeah.
Two, three.
Turn and face me.
Borderline.
Oh, thank you so much!
Borderline.
I know. Thank you.
"Travel on foot to Taverna Platanos
and feed each other
"a portion of one of Greece's
most popular dishes, spanakopita."
In this challenge, teams
must come here to Platanos,
one of the oldest tavernas in Athens.
Now, when it comes to Greek food,
you got plenty to choose from,
but nothing beats my absolute
favourite, spanakopita,
and I've been baking these
for three hours in the kitchen
with head chef Nikos, my good mate.
I grew up with him.
Now, all the teams have gotta do
is eat one entire spanakopita
by feeding each other half each,
then they'll get their next clue,
just like this.
Alright, let's go. Come on.
Drop the gun.
The first guy
that taught us was, um
He wasn't good.
He wasn't a good teacher. Sorry.
I don't remember
anything that he said.
Yeah, no. Well, look here.
This guy's better.
This guy's a better teacher.
Over here. We watch and do it.
Then we decided
to go over to the next guy.
OK, let's go to this guy.
Let's just go
There's a line here.
They've already had their practice.
They're not getting another practice.
Yeah, look, this one.
Oh, no, we're next, guys.
You guys have already
had a practice run.
Did you go just before these guys?
So you No, we went
We were waiting after them.
It's alright. We can all
watch together as well, alright?
That's what I'm saying,
is that we haven't
I think they were with him, but
that's OK. That's fine, that's fine.
That's alright. We were just
waiting. That's all good.
We did, but we waited in line
for you 'cause we wanted
You haven't done it at all?
No, no, we haven't done it.
Focus on this. Look at me.
We would love to beat
Angel and Frankie.
We probably haven't
clicked with them
like we've clicked
with everyone else.
I don't understand why,
what we did wrong,
maybe if it's 'cause
we're Melbourne teams or not,
but we try and try to be nice
and it's always, like, backhanded.
Yeah, they're a bit sassy,
a bit arrogant.
You were first or them?
We don't know.
They've been here the whole time.
But we moved and waited
in line here for you.
We want to win.
You know, we're Christians
and we want to be good to people
and we want to love people,
but we also gotta be competitive
and I think those two are,
like, really contradicting.
Want me to show you the whole thing?
Yeah.
How far would we go to win 250 K?
We'll have to wait and see.
I'm still rocking
one of my sandals.
At least we know we made it well.
So we failed the first time
due to it being not as flush.
So we had to put the shoelace thing
more down and fold it in more
so when you put the glue,
it kind of sits more flush.
Is he being pretty tight
on the flushness of it?
He's being pretty tight
on how flush it is?
Yeah, very tight.
Yeah.
Does 'flush' just mean stuck on top?
No, it means that there's no gap.
Oh.
And also one of the heels came off
so we have to redo that one.
I feel like my orthotics teacher's
going to give me a zero for this.
Did you ever think you'd be building
a pair of shoes in Greece?
This is like thongs
you get from Bali.
Don't whiff that. Eugh!
You just hold pressure on this one.
Can you try and sand
that bottom bit?
'Cause I can't sand
What have you done here?!
That's my glue!
Oh, my God.
Yeah, a bloody mountain full of it.
Step Up, is it? Left.
Step Up.
Yep.
Everyone's still here, bro.
It was awesome
seeing other teams there
'cause we were like, "Yes,
we've still got a chance."
Oh, baby, baby. Oh!
Boom.
Like that?
Yep.
Alright, YOLO.
Trust yourself. Trust yourself.
Hello!
One person here,
one person there.
Yes, boss.
Trust yourself.
It's this one.
Yep.
Truly borderline.
Thank you! Thank you!
Yes, yes, yes! Thank you so much.
Thank you, thank you.
Thank you!
Attention.
Alright, let's do it. What's next?
Oh, no, my fingers are so cold.
"Travel on foot to Taverna Platanos
and feed each other"
Spanakopita!
"..to receive your next clue."
Let's go.
Alright, let's go. Yum!
Attention.
Good effort.
Oh!
Thank you so much.
Thank you, sir.
Thank you.
Two, three
Four.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
We were really good, hey?
Yeah.
We smashed it.
I loved it by the end.
"..feed each other
a portion of
"..span-a"
"..ko-pita
to receive your next clue."
OK, let's go.
OK.
One, two, three.
Three, two, one.
Three, two, one. Three, two, one!
Three, two, one.
Do you like the socks as part
of the fashion statement?
You buy? $10.
Thank you!
Thank you. Let's go get our shoes.
"Travel on foot to feed each other
"a portion of one of Greece's
most popular dishes"
Oh, yeah, I like spanakopita.
"..to receive your next clue."
We were just looking down the alleys
where we just finished the Detour.
How are we supposed
to find this place?
We're from Australia
and we're trying to find this pub.
Taverna Platanos
I don't know
how to say that.
It must be back there.
Do you know where that is?
These travel-on-foots,
you think they're gonna be
a lot easier than they actually are.
Yeah.
Shit.
Oh, my God.
We're lost.
Coming up, a Greek pastry
is hard to swallow
Get it down.
..and teams stumble on Step Down.
It's gone again.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no!
We weren't meant to bang that.
We were meant to bang THAT.
Oh, no, this thing came out.
I need to fix it, Vinny.
So let's go ask here.
We have to find Taverna Platanos
and eat a traditional Greek dish.
But we had to travel on foot,
which was the problem for us.
We got a bit lost.
Excuse me, could you help us?
Could you google on your phone?
- There, Flicka, you see it?
- Yeah, no, I think so.
This is the laneway.
Yeah.
Hello!
Hello!
How are you?
How are you?
Happy!
Yeah, hello.
There is nothing better
than doing an eating challenge
when you want to try the food,
when you want the food,
you're hungry for it.
And we're big eaters.
Hungry! Starving!
And we're not like
pretend big eaters.
No, we're big eaters.
We're ready to eat.
Eat, yes.
Yeah.
Spanakopita.
Oh, spanakopita!
Spanakopita is delicious.
It's delicious.
It is cheese and spinach
wrapped in crunchy filo pastry.
"You must both consume
a full portion each."
Chef, this one portion?
Yeah, one portion. Here, Flicka.
So I have to feed it to you?
Yep.
"Feed each other a portion of"
Yep, OK.
Alright?
Yep, let's go.
I'll feed you, you feed me.
Yeah, this is your one.
I'll take a bite?
Yeah, bite's easier.
Oh, feed me.
Span-a-kop-i-ta.
Get it down. Get it down, bro.
I feel really defeated, really flat.
We were at the top, I felt.
Not now, definitely.
I need to use the toilet.
Yeah.
This is Oh!
Watch out.
See it?
Here!
- Good job, babe.
- Oh, shit.
Yes! Here it is, Taverna Platanos.
Yep, here.
OK.
This looks delicious.
Welcome.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
As you can see, we're not
averse to an eating challenge.
We do well.
These bodies take work.
What's this?
I no speak English.
Only speak Greek.
I'm sorry.
It's alright. Thank you.
Feed each other.
I know. Give me a second.
Oh, no, my heel's sliding off.
There's lots of instructions
to make sandals.
You've got to lay out the sole
of the sandal, glue on the heel,
then you've got to punch some holes
into the leather top.
Oh, no, we weren't
meant to bang that.
We were meant to bang THAT, because
that's the bottom of the shoe.
Whoopsie!
Whoopsie!
Alright, do you want
to pick up the ones we've got?
'Cause we now have to put them on,
don't we, and do a foot race.
It's holding. Look. It's holding.
Looks good to me, but probably not
the judge will be happy with it.
Alright, let's go.
Nice and tight. Ooh.
Oh, no, this thing came out!
I need to fix it, Vinny.
OK.
I think we both do quite well
under pressure.
You know, we're both quite stoic.
Tammy, as a vet, an emergency
and critical care vet,
she's very used to dealing with
those high pressure,
tense situations.
Oh, my God!
Tammy, Tammy, Tammy!
Wait. Something
What?
I don't know what this is from.
This is
Span-a-kop-i-ta.
Her favourite.
Spanakopita.
Really nice.
Pastry.
Some Spanish I mean, not Spanish.
We're not in Spain.
We're not in Spain.
Ahh!
Yum, yum, yum. Thank you!
Whoo-hoo!
Opa, opa, opa!
It was delicious.
I loved every minute of it.
I want more.
Yep, yep.
"Race to Kotzia Square
to find Beau at the Pit Stop."
Our 16 teams have got to come and
find me here at Athens Town Hall,
which is the Pit Stop for the fourth
leg of The Amazing Race Australia.
And this is Mr Greece,
the sexiest man in Europe.
How are you, Spiro?
Welcome to Greece.
He's the best-looking person I know,
and I know Ricky Martin.
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
Let's go.
Let's go! Come on.
Does it say travel on foot?
Yes.
Thank you so much. Thank you.
Thank you. Thank you.
Ahh!
Hey, hey, hey!
Thank you.
Can I have one takeaway?
No, no, no!
No takeaway?
Uh
Route Info.
OK.
OK.
"Race to Kotzia Square
and find Beau at the Pit Stop."
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
Go.
Let's go.
Yeah, that's where
I keep going wrong.
OK, start again.
My thing's falling down.
Wait, wait, wait.
Oh, man! Come on.
Wait. I gotta
We don't have time for this, hon.
Well, what am I gonna do?
Jamus is really good
at trying to lift my spirits.
It's my job. It's not
Are you kidding?
It's your job?
Mate, you better get out of here.
You know it's my job.
I always lift you up, hon.
Wardrobe malfunction,
wardrobe malfunction.
OK, ready? One No, me on my own.
Oh, yeah, sorry.
I'm very grateful
that he does what he does
because otherwise I'd be in
a shitty mood for a long time.
I'm so immune to it.
You know what? I'm taking back
every nice word I just said.
Far out. This is tough.
Oh, it's gone again.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no!
You good?
My fingers
Like, I literally don't
have feeling in them.
Georgia, you're wearing gloves.
I'm not even wearing gloves
and I'm fine, so
OK, like, I'm telling you
that my fingers are hurting.
But you're gonna be fine.
You're good at threading,
so how about I start sanding these
while you're threading?
OK.
Let me just Can you
help me stand up, please?
OK, ready?
Yep.
That bloody sandal challenge.
Pretty stressful, to be honest,
'cause we were trying
to make up time.
Left Oh, wait.
Outer, inner.
OK, yeah.
Inner.
Inner, outer.
Inner, outer. Inner, outer.
Inner, outer.
Oh, God. No, the sole's coming off.
What's the name of the place?
Kotzia.
Huh?
Kotzia Square.
Do you know where Kotzia Square?
What?
Kotzia Square?
We're trying to find
this Pit Stop.
We're rushing, we're asking everyone,
we can't read the signs.
Oh, map. Map.
Wait. Kotzia Square.
Nuh. Let's go.
Kotzia Square?
Yeah, go down here, Steph.
Go straight down, straight down,
straight down.
Let's go this way.
Are you cold?
Uh, yeah, I've been permanently cold
for about four days now, man.
I can't feel anything,
and I'm talking about anything,
you know what I'm saying?
Oh.
Yeah.
Walk. Hang on.
Walk
I am.
..toward the judge.
Look.
Hello. Stop touching it.
He's looking at it.
Yeah, but they don't look pretty.
Thumbs down.
They failed.
Did they?
Oh, maybe it's 'cause of
the glue on here.
Maybe.
Did you sand it?
No, 'cause you were doing
the sanding.
Oh, was I?
Yeah, you said that
you loved doing sanding.
Oh, I feel like you said that to me.
You were threading them.
Exactly, I was threading them
and you were sanding.
Oh.
Yeah!
Thank you! Thank you so much!
Thank you.
Thank you!
Yes, bro! Yes!
Oh, thank you, brother.
Thank you, bro.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Oh, my God. That's it!
- Hello!
- Hello.
Hello!
Three people have already finished.
"Consume a full portion each."
Yes, stop!
Yes, yes.
No, you're feeding me.
I'm feeding you. Stop.
You feed me. You feed me this one.
We started kinda shoving it
in each other's faces
and she's a really slow eater.
I'm trying!
Oh.
Oh, my God.
This is just so hard to swallow.
OK. OK.
Bravo!
Thank you!
Thank you, thank you!
"Race to the Kotzia Square
to find Beau at the Pit Stop.
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
OK, let's go.
Do you want to go that way?
Oh.
Ooh, watch your feet.
Watch your feet. What's that thing?
Do you wanna go see what that is?
Sorry, babe.
For what? Don't be sorry, babe.
You're great
and whatever happens, happens.
Is that a flag? Nah.
Is it? Yes. That's a team.
Oh, my God! It's a flag.
Oh, no, it's not.
Oh, my God!
It is!
Oh, my God! Oh, my God!
Welcome! Oh, welcome, welcome!
Thank you.
Thank you.
So, the chef was
the cutest thing ever.
He looked like
the character from 'Up'.
Oh, God.
..dry.
Mm.
You take your time,
you take your time.
Yes!
They got it.
I'd jump for joy,
but we're tied together.
"Travel on foot to"
"Taverna Platanos."
"..and feed each other a portion
"of one of Greece's
most popular dishes."
Spanakopita!
It's my favourite. Run.
It's actually really nice.
I like it. It's just really dry.
Ahhh.
Ahhh.
Thank you!
Whoo! Whoo!
"Find Beau at the Pit Stop.
"Hurry. The last to check in
may be eliminated."
Let's go.
OK.
Kotzia Square.
Kotzia Square.
Kotzia Square.
Where? Where? Where?
There?
They're going there, babe.
OK.
- Good work, Ange.
- Yeah.
Let's go. Smash it.
I think the hardest thing
was finding the Pit Stop.
Yeah, the cop ladies helped us out
a bit with their directions.
They weren't trying to help us out.
They were just trying to find
the place and we were, like,
"Let's just follow them."
Alright, crossing.
I'm pretty sure they were trying
to ditch us, but we were, like,
"Oh, we can just run together,"
and we're just, like,
running alongside them, like,
"Yeah, keep going!
We'll just follow you."
- Walk, walk, walk.
- Slay!
Oh!
Our sandals just weren't walking
the walk and talking the talk,
so the panic really
did start to set in.
Right, well, do you want to do
the dancing, then?
Let's just do the dance.
We're not gonna get it done.
Are you sure?
Yeah.
Well, we're gonna have to put the
costumes on, so start stripping.
So, we decided to switch back
to the marching challenge.
There better be
a good dancing teacher.
Oh, my God.
We have to ask more people.
Yeah.
We don't know where we're going.
We're in the middle of Greece.
We have no idea where we are
and we may have spent way too long
Running around.

No tax.
Amazing.
Stop it.
And two brand-new Isuzus.
Yeah, $250,000 would change
our lives immensely, you know.
We actually might be able
to go on an actual holiday together
that isn't under the pressure
of the race.
Today was tough.
You've had a lot of travel.
Go and get warm
and I'll see you soon. Well done.
Guys, bring it in. Oh.

Tammy and Vincent.
Wow.
Yahoo!
Tammy and Vincent,
you are the 15th team to check in
..and you're still in the race -
barely.
I think we're representing
people who just want to have a go.
Yeah, and, like, it doesn't matter
who you are as a person,
how different you think you are,
you pretty much can achieve anything
and everything that you want,
as long as you have that
determination and you don't give up.
Sam and Alex
..you are the last team
to check in
We know.
..and you are eliminated.
Unfortunately, boys,
your time in the race is over.
Good job.
High five for trying.
At least we did it.
Yeah, dream come true.
Bring it in.
Thanks, Beau.
See you soon, huh?

We're going to be talking about
this Amazing Race journey
for the longest time.
Years to come. It's not gonna leave
our lips for a while, I feel.
Next time on
The Amazing Race Australia,
on the picturesque island
of Santorini
We're in Santorini!
..where the fish are fresh
Anybody want to lick their hands
right now?
I know, right?
..and the asses are big.
Whoa, whoa!
Whoa!
Ooh!
The hardest challenge
Do you know how to reverse?
Whoa, what did I hit?
..will be navigating the island.
Yeah, you're on the left
side of the road right now.
Oh, shit.
