The Amazing Race Australia (2011) s06e05 Episode Script
Season 6, Episode 5
Previously on the
Amazing Race Australia
teams travelled
from Morocco to Greece
Pretty sure Caesar came from Greece.
..where Angel and Frankie
just beat the cops to the Pit Stop.
Good job. That was close.
Couldn't get you at the end.
Do you think you're going to
pick this up or no?
But our flamboyant friends
Let's find the Pit Stop.
..fell at the final hurdle.
Sam and Alex, unfortunately
your time on the Race is over.
Tonight, with our lawyer cousins
in isolation,
Greece's most famous island
We're in Santorini!
You can do this.
..will see 15 exhausted teams
Athens wiped us clean out.
Yeah, yeah.
I can't.
..face the climb
This is, by far,
the worst challenge ever.
Whoa! Whoa!
..of their lives.
I'm honestly dead.
- I can't do it.
- Stop saying that!
This is the Amazing Race Australia.
The country of Greece
is made up of over 6,000 islands
with only 277 of them inhabited,
a place packed full
of ancient culture, tradition
and some modern-day
Western world partying.
Our 15 teams are on their way here
to Santorini,
a place with breathtaking views,
five-star luxury
and the world-famous
white-capped buildings.
And it is the picturesque location
for the fifth leg
of the Amazing Race Australia.
Teams are being released
in the order they checked into
the previous Pit Stop.
Yep.
"Welcome to the stunning
Greek island of Santorini."
"Make your way to
the Vlychada fishing port"
"To find your next clue.
You have 35 euro"
"For this leg of the race."
Alright, let's go.
All teams will be
driving manual cars
the 12 k's to Vlychada,
one of the three
main fishing ports
on the island,
and on the dock,
they'll find their next clue.
Yeah.
Alright.
Damn, I wonder
what those other teams
that can't drive manual
are gonna do.
All these cars are manual.
Manual. Manual. Manual.
Manual. I think they're all manual.
Manual. They're all manual.
Oh, they're all manual, bro.
Oh, this is so strange.
I've never driven manual in my life.
I think
you need to change gears.
This car keeps jumping
and I don't think it's the car.
Driving on the wrong side
of the road,
we have a disadvantage already.
OK. Please.
I don't want to kill us. Ahh!
Make sure to get on
the right side of the road.
It just said, "Port this way."
Yeah, you're on the left side
of the road right now.
Oh, shit.
"Welcome to the stunning
Greek island of Santorini."
"Make your way to
the Vlychada fishing port
"to find your next clue."
"You have 35 euros
for this leg of the race." Let's go.
Pick up marked car. Drive.
That's it.
Oh, lordy.
We were at the back of the pack
from the Athens leg,
so we have a lot of making up to do.
Oh, wow!
Go! Pull up!
I am. I'm pulling up right here.
Whoo! What a drive, baby!
Whoo!
Whoo-hoo! Let's go.
We're in Santorini!
Alright, let's do it.
OK.
Oh, yes.
Whoo-hoo!
Detour!
A Detour is a choice
between two challenges,
each with their own pros and cons.
Teams must choose
between Hustle or Bustle
and teams can change Detours
at any time.
Teams that choose Hustle
must pick up an order from Yaya
for 1.5 kilos of octopus,
1 kilo of bass
and 2 kilos of sardines.
All three types of seafood
are mixed in with today's catch.
Teams must sort through the pile,
extract the exact amount of each
of the three types of seafood
and, once they've weighed
the correct amount of each one,
Yaya will give them their next clue.
Or teams can choose Bustle.
To catch fish, fishermen need nets
and it's a full-time job
keeping them in perfect condition.
Teams must repair
five metres of damaged nets
as demonstrated by Captain Yannis
in the traditional way
using a special 10-inch needle.
Once completed
to the satisfaction of the captain,
they'll receive their next clue.
What do you wanna do?
I think that sounds easier.
Was that your gut decision?
Yeah, obviously!
OK, we're doing Bustle. Let's go.
OK, Bustle. Let's go.
Oh, there's the flag.
Oh, yeah. Cool.
Hello!
Captain
Captain?
Captain Yannis? Detour.
What does it say?
Hello?
Hello?
To make things a bit harder,
the master
who was doing the demonstration,
apparently he didn't talk.
We just have to watch and learn.
Oh, he's not gonna talk to us.
And we had to mimic it
and make sure that we did
five metres of this.
No, it looks super hard.
Ooh! Jeez!
I did not mean that!
I didn't mean that!
Where's the key?
I think they're inside.
Is it unlocked?
It feels really awkward
to drive manual with my right hand.
Ooh! Oh, my God.
Oh, my God!
This is scary!
Whoa! What the?!
A car!
A car?
Yes. Keep going.
Oh, it's 'cause the roads
are so narrow.
Yes. Just be aware of it, please.
Sorry.
What the heck was that?
I hit the window. Sorry.
You hit your What window?
Passenger's window
just hithit the side of a car.
Oh, my God!
That's alright.
The damage was, uh, done.
Detour - Hustle or Bustle?
OK, let's do Hustle.
Alright.
Find Yaya at the shopfront
and collect the fish order.
Yaya?
Hello.
Hello.
Thank you.
OK.
How much? How many?
1.5 kilos.
1.5. They're about 500 grams each.
Yeah.
Alright, so, the sardines - how many?
Two kilos.
Alright, they're light, so a lot.
Oh, hang on, babe.
There's different little ones.
So, yes. Not these ones.
The big fish?
Yeah.
Uh, one kilo. One.
I reckon let's try that.
Let's go and try that.
Correct, yeah.
Oh, golly. 500.
Oh, my God, they're heavy.
We were right.
Fish. Just chuck him on,
see what he weighs.
No, we need two of them. OK.
How many of these do we need?
Two kilos?
Two kilos.
The toughest part was probably
getting the weights right.
OK, let's go.
Go, go, there's another team here.
Oh, there's lots of other teams here.
Alright, ready?
Ready, Fliss? Go.
- Detour.
- I'd say Hustle.
Hustle. I'd say Hustle.
Hustle. Let's go.
Sort and weigh. We'll do Hustle.
Alright, Hustle.
Detour. Hustle or Bustle?
I think Hustle.
Hustle, Hustle. Me too.
We're doing Hustle.
Let's go.
Detour.
Alright, let's do Hustle. Let's go.
Hustle.
Let's go.
Let's go find Yaya!
We're changing our Detour
to Bustle. We're going to fix nets.
Once we saw the fish
and the octopus
Having to weigh it out and guess
how much it's gonna weigh
And how much it would have smelled,
I was, like,
"Nah, I don't wanna touch that."
Why is that engine sign on?
It's a fuel sign.
Do we need fuel?
Oh, shit, hon,
we need to pay for fuel!
That's what our leg money's for.
So, um, it says, "You've got $35
for this leg of the race."
Obviously, that's what it's for.
What else is your 35 bucks for
when your car's on empty?
Think about it.
Put two and two together.
I have 35 euros.
Yes.
How much is that?
35. Thank you!
How much did you put in?
Oh, it's full.
Oh, that was half a tank.
I thought THAT was the fuel.
Well, I hope we don't need money
to get into the fishing port now,
seeing as Jamus just realised
we already had a full tank
It wasn't me.
You said we needed petrol too!
You were looking at the wrong sign!
No.
Yes!
60, 70, 80, 90.
We were sitting in first place
and we were kinda cruising.
Oh, one team's coming over here.
And then we start seeing
the other teams catching up to us.
OK, let's go, let's go.
Put the bags down.
And this is where things
got really frustrating.
Yeah, you just have to watch him.
He won't talk to you.
So, he skips one,
goes to the next one.
He'll thread through it three times.
One, two, three.
Oh, fo
And then he goes to the next.
So, four.
Skip one, four.
Next.
Shoot.
It wasn't until
I was trying to help them
that I realised we had actually
been doing the wrong thing
the whole time
and then I was, like
I think it's gonna be OK.
And we were already,
like, halfway through.
No, we were more than halfway
through. We were almost done.
Alright, so we're choosing Bustle?
Hustle? Alright, let's go Hustle.
Alright, let's do it.
Hustle. Let's go Hustle. Go.
I reckon seafood.
Seafood?
"Find Yaya at the shopfront.
"Collect her fish order
which you will need to fulfil."
Good morning, Captain Yaris.
Good morning.
Sardines, octopus
and the other one.
Ooh! Oh, God, I don't like seafood.
This is scary.
What is this?!
Everything that we bring up
needs to be exact.
Alright. It's not heavy enough.
It's not heavy.
Alright.
1.5.
We'll ask the guy. We'll go,
"Which one's one kilo for the fish?"
Yep.
One, two.
You got it, babe.
I think we are getting
a rhythm going.
My mum is amazing.
Taught me as a kid
to knit and crochet
and, you know,
all that needle-threading stuff.
"Take your net to Captain Yannis
and get in line to be checked."
Where's Captain Yannis?
Looks like him right there.
That's how it was.
Yes! Yes!
Good work.
Good work.
Yes! Yes! Yes! Oh, my God! Yes!
Life lessons learned, so
Yeah.
Yes! What?! That's crazy!
"Route Info.
"Give a donkey a day off and help
transport luggage up the hill
"from the Old Port
to receive your next clue."
Teams must now
drive north
to Santorini's capital
and centre of
art and culture, Fira.
514, 515.
Come on, buddy. 516.
In this challenge,
our teams must come here
to the famous Karavolades Steps.
Now, the 516 steps - and I know
because we just counted them -
lead all the way down to the Old Port
where, for centuries, the humble ass
has carried up luggage and supplies
for locals and travellers alike.
Each team must pick up 15 kilos
of luggage from the port,
collect an ass and guide it
all the way to the top.
Did I mention there's 516 steps?
We gotta go. We gotta be first.
Come on.
How was that, Cynthia?
I know!
We did good, bubba.
Yeah, we did.
It's saying,
"Drive to Three Bells car park."
Right. Oh, my goodness.
Oh, everyone's there!
How?
Jamus, shut the hell up now.
No.
What do you wanna do?
Nuh, let's do the other one.
Oh, frick. So, do you wanna
go do the other one?
Yeah. I'm not unpicking all of that.
That would take so long.
Let's go.
OK, let's go.
This leg,
it was just falling to pieces.
I'm so annoyed!
Like, I'm so frustrated
we went from the front
Bit gutted.
..to the back.
Let's go.
Yeah, yeah. Stop, stop, stop.
We had to have
two kilos of sardines
..1.5 kilos of octopus
..and a kilo of fish.
Yeah.
Thank you!
Thank you. Cheers.
Alright, that's perfect.
"Give a donkey a day off"
"And help transport luggage
up the hill from the Old Port
"to receive your next clue."
OK, let's go.
By this time, we had lost
our place of first place
to probably, like,
second or third last.
Around last, yeah.
Thank you.
Thank you.
What do you want first? Octopus.
How much?
Octopus. Two kilos.
I don't like slimy things.
Oh, my gosh.
Just grab it, grab it, grab it.
Eugh.
Oh, my God! This is so disgusting.
I think that's 1kg.
Yuck!
We have to take it over to him.
I think it's pretty good.
I think we could catch fish with it.
I think we could catch some fish.
"Give a donkey a day off
"and help transport luggage
up the hill from the Old Port
"to receive your next clue."
Don't like that one.
Alright, all good.
Do you wanna just come with us.
We'll all do it together?
Yeah, all do it. Yeah, definitely.
Got to work together, right?
The boys are gonna weigh
the correct amount
now that they've got their turn
and then give it back to us.
Let's go! Oh!
Sealed the deal, man.
Thank you. Thank you, thank you.
Thank you, thank you. Alright.
Here. This is all you need.
This is all you need.
Thank you!
What is the car park
called again? Three what?
Three Bells.
Three Bells.
Fira? Fira?
Yep, Fira.
That's where we need to go.
It's crazy. We get a leg ahead
and then we get lost.
Three Bells.
Alright, let's go.
Come on, then.
This is it? Cable car entrance.
"Ride the cable car to the Old Port
and search for the donkeys."
You in?
Yeah.
So, we choose a donkey,
select a pile of luggage.
The donkey can't carry any luggage
or our bags.
This one.
So, do we basically
walk the donkeys back up the hill?
Yep. You go up all these steps.
Jesus.
Oh, that's just cruel,
making us come up here by foot
when there's
a perfectly good cable car.
Move it into another spot
to make it easier.
Girls, if youse get it right,
can we have your crates
and then hand them to them?
Been here for ages.
Yeah, but we're after
Like, if you get it right.
As Angel and Frankie
I think just got there,
and we just felt so bad
for all the other teams
that were there
for two to three hours.
I mean, you don't have to, but
if you're gonna help them, then
We just don't wanna be last
and we have
100%. We understand that.
That's alright. If youse
don't wanna help, that's fine.
I felt bad.
She had her game face on.
I couldn't.
No, you did the right thing.
I'm so glad you did that.
The Indigenous boys
gave these two their crates
and they don't want to
give it to anyone else.
This was one kilo before.
OK?
Thank you. Yes.
Shit.
Thank you.
Thank you!
I cannot believe them!
It's alright.
Thank you! Thank you, thank you.
Yay! Thank you so much!
Thank you.
Thank you.
Yes! Thank you!
Thank you. Thank you.
Oh. Yuck.
One kilo.
Two kilo.
Two kilo. Almost there.
It's too light.
It's too light, so just
chuck all of those to that side
and remember
you're getting rid of that, OK?
You had to have
specifically that much fish
when you put it on the scale
for Yaya to go
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Whoo! Thank you so much!
Thank you!
Awesome. Thank you very much.
Thank you.
"Give a donkey a day off
and help transport luggage"
"Up the hill from the Old Port
to receive your next clue."
Let's go.
Alright, Heath, pick sensible.
Let's do a weight thing, Tones,
first.
Let's just
These have got handles, though, hey?
And that can just
go under your armpit.
Hello, sir.
Can we have a donkey?
Yes.
Yes?
Oh, lordy. What do you wanna take?
How good's this, Tones?
Is it a boy or a girl?
I don't know.
Are you a boy or a
Girl.
Girl.
Girl.
Good girl. We like girls.
Well, you've got a lot of stairs,
but a beautiful view.
There's a good girl.
Doing very well.
Such a beautiful day!
Oh, it's stunning.
This is one of life's moments, Heath.
Oh, 100%.
It's a good day to be alive.
Good day.
- Look at that.
- This is so beautiful!
Whoo! Look at us going down
the mountain!
Beautiful.
We don't have to climb
that mountain, do we?
I hope not.
Oh, there's a donkey up there.
Where?
Up there.
Oh, my God, yeah. There they are.
They're doing the challenge.
Yep.
We can do this.
One in front of the other.
That's all we've gotta do.
Good job.
I think I'm gonna die.
There's absolutely no way I will
make it up those stairs at all.
Not happening.
Don't drop anything.
I won't.
I'm just saying,
try not to drop anything.
Hello.
One donkey.
One donkey, please.
Oh, my God. That donkey's huge!
Donkey's coming.
Ooh!
- It'll go the speed of you.
- Yep.
If I hold back,
it's 'cause of donkey.
Donkey was nice.
Donkey was good.
But he was big.
Big donkey.
Sorry.
Trust me.
Yes, yes, yes!
Oh, she said yes.
Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you.
Oh I wanna wash my hands.
Yeah, leave it.
Yes!
Yes, thank you, thank you.
Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you, Yaya!
Come on, bro! Oh, my gosh!
It's alright, hon. Relax!
"Park your car in the car park,
"lock the doors
and take your bags and keys.
"Make your way on foot to the
cable car station. You will need"
Oh, shit!
What?
"You will need to purchase tickets
for you and your crew."
Oh, wow.
D-Day. Home time.
We both thought we needed it!
No, I can't see from here!
I'm only going off
what you said, mate.
You read the gauge
and it said we were empty
and it wasn't even.
So, we're going home now.
Oh, man! I am in a relationship
with a dumb-arse.
Um
Kamari, Mesaria, Karterados.
Kavos Centre.
No? No idea?
No. None of this is matching.
Oh.
You're pulling me up, donkey.
Can I be pulled?
No.
You've got this.
You've got this, my love.
Oh, thank you so much.
Thank you. Oh!
Thank you.
Hey! Oh.
Sorry!
It's a Road Block.
Oh, right.
"Who can fly like the wind?"
You want me to do it?
Sure.
OK.
A Road Block is a challenge
that only one team member must
complete based on a cryptic clue.
Teams must now drive to
the cliffside town of Oia,
a global destination for
international parkour championships.
In this Road Block,
one member from each team
must take on
the extreme sport of parkour.
A rooftop course has been set
by a Greek parkour pro.
One member from each team
will be taught five parkour moves
and they must display
three of them correctly.
But if they fail the course,
they'll have to do it all again.
And if they complete the course,
Panos, will you give them
their next clue?
Definitely.
Let's go. Let's go.
Let's go.
Got it? Alright, let's go.
Good boy!
Is he hard to move?
Do you need help?
I'm hard to move, not him.
Hut, hut! Good girl. Hut, hut.
So, I definitely think
we're on the right track now.
Cable car is here,
which is where we are.
Hello.
Hey, guys.
What's up, boys?
Boys, we need to ask you a favour.
What's that?
Whatever change youse have,
can we please borrow it?
I thought that
He thought our car needed fuel.
I thought we needed fuel
and I put the money in for fuel.
He put all the money in the fuel.
Oh, my God, we can't pay to get us
into this route. We had no money.
Thanks, mate.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much.
It's, yeah, amazing.
So, we work so well together,
all of us.
We all help each other out.
I'm so grateful.
Give that to them.
Oh, thank you.
I just hope we've done
the right thing.
Yeah.
We'll hold the basket together.
I'm game with that.
Yeah.
Can I go to the front?
Alright, hon, come to the front.
How do I get to the front?
Go. Come.
Just wait.
Good job!
Good job.
Alrighty.
Ow.
Aww! He's so cute.
Do you want me to hold it?
Yep.
I'm already stuffed.
Yeah, same, bro.
Can donkeys kick you from behind
or is that only a horse?
No, well, it's possible.
Oh, shit!
Chill, dude! Chill!
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa!
Oh.
Oh, you shit!
Come on, Sammy, pull it.
Oh, Sam!
We had a runaway donkey.
It was running off.
It was in fifth gear.
Running up that hill.
Can youse grab the donkey?
Whose horse is that?
Why is there a random donkey?
Just got a shit donkey.
sake!
Enjoy that.
Is that helping?
Yeah.
That's it. You're doing great.
Come on. You've got this.
We bring it home, donkey.
I think I'd rather bring it home
on a boat.
Well, you don't have
that chance today.
That was the worst thing
I've ever done.
That is unbelievable.
I'm so proud of you.
It wasn't amazing. Oh, God.
OK, we'll give you a rest.
Road Block.
"Who can fly like the wind?"
You gonna have a crack or me?
Sure.
What do you wanna do?
I'll do it.
Come on!
Going up the stairs with donkey
and laundry.
Hard.
Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you.
Keep charging, keep charging.
We're making up more ground.
Can you please check my twigs?
Trust me,
your twigs are perfectly the same.
I feel like they're falling.
Come on, Dimitri.
"Who can fly like the wind?"
I'll do it.
You gotta do it.
I think you should do it.
I'll do it.
I'll do it.
It's my turn now.
I can do it. It doesn't matter
about turns. I can do it.
I feel bad.
No, I'll do it.
Let's go.
Come on.
I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.
That's OK.
It was shit.
It was horrible.
Here. Come have some water.
It's not that. I just can't breathe.
I can't breathe.
Struggled a lot.
I struggled.
I had the carpet in my back.
My back felt like it was breaking
and I just struggle up hills
in general.
Come on. Help me. Help me.
Oh, this guy's got the idea.
Might be a new donkey.
That donkey was too strong.
Good one.
Hey, the boys! Let's go.
Alright. Come on.
You got it, boys!
Youse have got a stubborn one.
Oh, our last one, it booted.
It got scared.
So, what? Youse had to change?
It ran off.
Oh, what?
That second donkey didn't want a bar
of it.
It was just eating bloody grass
the whole time.
It was on smoko.
You right?
Hmm But we're not far.
Like, that's
So, we're here.
Where's the clue again?
Our navigation was not that good.
No, our navigation was
But to be fair,
we didn't have a really good map.
That's what we're looking for,
Three Bells car park.
Yeah.
I wanna say let's find
the car park closest to there.
Should we just try
and go back to where we was
with the church
with the Three Bells?
Maybe this is it here.
Oh, my God. This is a car park.
Look there. One, two, three.
Oh.
Three bells.
How do we get down there?
"Make your way on foot
to the cable car station."
And go that way.
Can you see them with the donkeys?
Yep.
There are quite a few teams
in front of us now
and it's a long way up
with backpacks and a donkey.
Optimistic.
I need you to be optimistic
with me
or we're both gonna have a meltdown.
Coming up, flying high
Ooh!
..or gone with the wind?
- What happens if I fall?
- Go.
Hold on.
No, I'm fine.
Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop.
'Scuse me, can we bother you
to get some instructions?
We're tourists and we're lost.
No English?
OK.
Alright.
I say if we see anyone else
that doesn't look drunk
This thing is helping me by pulling
me, but I'm trying to pull it back.
What am I supposed to do?
Just relax!
My backpack is killing me!
Whoo! Thank you.
Ooh.
The donkey's very strong.
How do you say thank you
in Greek again?
Efharisto.
Efharisto.
Efharisto.
Thank you.
Good donkey, this one. Good donkey.
Road Block.
Oh, no!
"Who can fly like the wind?"
That's you.
Oh, you like heights.
I'll do it.
I'm gonna do the Road Block.
Yeah.
Give it a go
'cause I did the last one.
I've heard of parkour before
and I know it's, like,
a YouTube sort of sensation
and it's just, like, bouncing,
jumping off walls and stuff,
so I was, like,
"Could be good at it."
Me.
We're on the Santorini wall of beauty
and I had to do
this little course of stunts
and correctly complete
three of five of the stunts.
Go, Gabby.
I knew that we really needed
to one-and-done it
Go, Gabby!
..so I went to work
and parkoured my way up.
Do a roll, Gabba.
You got this. Whoo!
Yay! Thank you!
Congratulations.
Thank you! Thank you!
Good job, good job.
"Route Info.
"Race on foot to
the Church of Panagia"
"..to find Beau
at the next Pit Stop."
Our teams are now racing on foot
and must find me here
at the jewel on Santorini's crown,
the breathtaking church,
the Panagia Akathistos Hymn.
Originally built in the 1800s, it was
destroyed by an earthquake in 1956.
But, thank a Greek god,
it was rebuilt in 1965
because it's our Pit Stop
for the fifth leg of
the Amazing Race Australia.
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
Let's go!
Hello. Yasu.
Can you please help us?
Yes?
Yes. Do you know where
this one here is?
Do you know to reverse?
No.
I don't know how to reverse.
Can you push it?
Turn the wheel!
I am!
Turn that way.
I'm turning!
I need to turn this way.
It was a roller-coaster.
Yeah, there's an arrow.
OK. Yep.
You'll be right. You've got this.
Trust me. I'm proud of you.
Here.
Come on, come on! Let's go, hon!
We've gotta make
as much time as we can.
Hi. How are you?
Hello. Good. You?
Yeah, good, thank you.
Thankfully, I only had to
get three out of five.
Oh!
Yes!
OK?
Thank you so much.
Whoo!
Hello!
You OK?
Hi!
That was so good.
- It's yours.
- Thank you, bro.
"Who can fly like the wind?"
Alright, I'll do it.
They can't have already raced
a donkey up the hill.
We knew we were last
going into the donkey challenge.
Give me the best donkey you've got.
Lucky donkey?
Walking through shit.
I can't.
We have to!
And then looking up,
you've got millions of steps -
what looks like millions of steps -
going in a big zigzag
all the way up to the top
and you're just, like, "Nah, this is
not the place I wanna be right now."
Yes, we know, we know.
Shoot me.
OK, let's go.
This is by far
the worst challenge ever.
I was waiting for her to pull
the pin and I was gonna join her.
I can't do this.
- I gotta go across here?
- Yes. Just walk.
I'm too old for this shit.
I'm not gonna pass you
because I know
you can definitely do 100% better.
Argh!
Ooh!
Ooh!
Really? Thank you so much!
Perfect.
Yes! Thank you.
Well done.
Thank you!
Well done!
Thank you, thank you!
Yes! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much.
Thank you, thank you.
Go!
"Route Info.
"Race on foot to
the Church of Panagia"
"Akathistos Hymn to find Beau
at the next Pit Stop."
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
"Follow the marked path."
I saw it down there.
- I can't do it.
- Stop saying that!
Of course,
she didn't believe in herself.
That's it. Good girl!
Now put that other foot over.
That's a long way.
Yeah.
You've got it, Jodie.
Go for the windowsill on your foot.
Yeah.
What happens if I fall?
You won't. You won't.
Go. That's it.
You've got it.
Very nice. Good girl. Come on.
Only one more to go.
You got this. Come on.
That's it. You've got it.
You've got it.
That's it.
Yay! Well done.
Good day at work. Yes!
Well done. Now your tuck and roll.
That's it.
Oops.
Well done.
Thank you very much.
Cha-cha-cha!
You're the man. Thank you.
Run.
Thank you.
Top three.
Top three?! Yeah, boy!
"Race on foot to
the Church of Panagia"
"To find Beau
at the next Pit Stop."
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
Let's go.
Did you watch 'I'm A Celeb
Get Me Out of Here' this year?
No, you didn't. Good.
No food in there, man.
Oops.
Your handbrake's up again!
Oh, that's why.
I'm done.
Sorry.
Sorry.
Sorry! Sorry! Sorry. Sorry, mate.
I do not know.
Don't know how to drive this.
Here it is.
Straight ahead? Thank you.
Coming up
Which way? Which way?
..will a race to the finish
end in a Greek tragedy?
You are the last team to check in.
Do you know who the new Bachelor is,
by any chance? No?
Come on, Flick.
So, navigating our way
through the streets was hard.
Every nook has a cranny
has a nook has a cranny.
And then there's a dead end and
you're kinda, like, "Oh, shit."
And then you go down one gate
and it's a hotel.
That's wet paint.
Going down here, then?
No, but this hill's private.
Private? Private property?
Which way?
Right 'cause it goes up that way.
This one?
Yeah, Panagia.
Which way?
There. Up.
Do you know where
the Church of Panagia is?
Do you have Google on your phone?
Google Maps?
Please.
I know.
Hurry up! Where are they?
I know. It's getting dark.
I hate this donkey!
This is our last chance to be
'Cause we're going home.
- We don't know that.
- We do!
No, we don't.
When we got to the top,
we were just knackered.
Nope.
Yeah, I'm tired.
Oh, look here. Road Block.
"Who can fly like the wind?"
I can fly like the wind.
You can fly like the wind.
You've got to be kidding me.
Like, are we really
gonna be doing parkour,
jumping around
doing flips or something
after we just wrecked ourselves
going up this hill with a donkey?
Come on, babe.
I think we knew
we were in a good position,
but, really,
we just wanted to be top 10.
Yep.
Come on.
I'm coming. I'm coming.
This way, they said.
Yeah, Toni. Watch your head.
Ooh, guys, watch your head.
Whoo!
Nearly there, Flicka.
Go down that way.
Here it is! Here's the arrow!
Hello!
Yay!
Thank you so much.
Welcome to Santorini.
Beautiful. Thank you.
This is Yaya.
Hi, Yaya.
Heath and Toni
..you are the first team to check in.
Top 10!
Top 10? Top 1!
That is awesome.
Number one.
Yes!
Well done, babe.
You've won a $5,000 travel voucher
to wherever you want
thanks to 10Travlr.
Aww.
That's awesome, Beau.
Thank you.
Thank you.
That's what it's all about for us,
isn't it, this trip?
It's to get my family to Aus as much
as possible while I'm still here.
We'll take that. Oh, my gosh.
We'll take it. Thank you so much.
Good on ya.
Cheers, Beau.
Go and get warm.
We smell of fish. Sorry, mate.
There's a joke in there.
Anyway, go down that way.
Just my hands.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh!
Thank you!
Welcome to Santorini, boys.
Thank you, Beau.
Pako and Mori,
you are the second team to check in.
What?!
Oh, my God!
You did it! You did it!
Flick and Gabby,
you are the third team to check in.
Oh, no way!
Mm.
Stop it. Stop it.
No way!
We had to cross off
that emotional charge all day.
I'm so proud of us.
We had to push it back till the Pit
Stop and then it just came out.
Yep.
Good job.
The fish.
I know. You stink. Go down there.
Very fishy, you know what I mean? Mm.
So, it's Stuey's turn
to do a Road Block.
Nice, Stuey. Nice, nice.
Oh, shit.
It turns out
I'm pretty bad with parkour.
You got two out of three.
Yep, awesome.
Number two. Two.
Yes. One more.
Just found out parkour on that day.
I didn't even know
what the word meant.
English isn't
my first language, bro.
Yeah. Thank you, man.
I've never done anything like that.
Some white boy shit, man.
"Race on foot"
"To find Beau at the Pit Stop."
"Last team to check in
may be eliminated."
Quick, quick, quick.
I need to put my jacket on!
I don't understand!
Who you yelling at?
I'm honestly dead.
Flag there.
Bravo.
Thank you, Yaya. Bravo.
Bravo.
Thank you. Good to see you.
- Run, run! Come on! Ready?
- Ready?
Three, two, one. Jump!
Ooh.
Yes, guys!
Fliss and Tot, you are
the fourth team to check in.
Kelly and Georgia,
that makes you guys
the fifth team to check in.
Yeah!
Good effort.
Chelsea and Jamus,
you are the sixth team to check in.
Good job.
- Ready?
- Yahoo!
Tammy and Vince,
you are the seventh team to check in.
Go, Tam.
Ooh!
Right leg through.
- Yes.
- No.
Stop, stop, stop, stop,
stop, stop, stop.
And then jump.
I think that really drained us.
I think it pushed us both
to our breaking point.
Jump with one foot.
Run. Run and jump. Run and jump.
What? One person!
Sorry.
I did know that the auntie
and niece, Tiff and Cynthia,
I knew that they were behind us.
We do wanna stay in the game.
We weren't ready to leave.
Yeah.
We just didn't feel like
it was our time.
Run. Run and jump. Run and jump.
What? One person!
Sorry.
We were losing it at each other.
We were getting really frustrated.
We just had to let out
our frustrations
Good girl. Good job.
Yay!
Come on.
Yay!
Good job. Good job, Reem.
Well done.
Thank you so much. Thank you.
Well done.
"Race on foot
to the Church of Panagia
"to find Beau at the next Pit Stop."
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated." Let's run.
One.
Two.
We knew we were last.
Oh, damn. I'm done.
We have to keep going, you know.
That was just my thought process.
Yes, thank you.
Very good. Well done.
Well done.
Thank you so much. Oh, damn it.
"Hurry. The last team to be
checked in may be eliminated."
Sorry!
Nothing. Sorry.
It's back up the other way.
Follow the marked path.
There's an arrow.
Which way? Which way?
Straight ahead? Thank you.
Thank you.
We're on the right direction.
Cool. Flag here.
This is where we came from.
Look at that.
Check that out.
Oh, my God. We've got this.
Oh, that's sweet. OK.
There's a marker.
Come on, Angel. Push.
Oh, my God!
Jodie and Claire,
you are the eighth team to check in.
Stop it.
You are.
Really?
Yeah.
Are you lying?
Oh, my God! I'm so proud of you.
Angel and Frankie, you are
the ninth team to check in.
Oh.
Wow.
Hey, brother.
Sam and Stu,
you are the 10th team to check in.
Oh, baby!
Yes!
Now, go down there. I've got a couple
of donkeys for you, alright?
That had to be one of the toughest
days I've had. Oh, mate.
Oh, we were so pumped.
Best feeling.
So happy to finish 10th.
Steph and Lauren, you are
the 11th team to check in.
Still in.
Morgan and Lilly,
you are the 12th team to check in.
Yes!
Oh, keen!
- Oh, I can see Beau, bro.
- Cool.
At least there's, like
It's the flags.
You know what it is.
Stuart and Glennon,
you are the 13th team to check in.
You're still in, boys.
Surviving, bro.
You like the island life?
Oh, I don't even wanna leave!
It's better than our islands, eh?
I'm pretty sure I lost my passport.
Where's the Pit Stop, do you think?
We might
come at the bottom.
We really don't know
what's gonna happen next.
Hopefully someone
got wrong directions.
Follow the marked path.
I'm shaking. My legs are shaking.
Yeah.
Whereabouts is it?
In the left side is the big one.
Oh, thank you.
Panagia? Thank you.
Five minutes. Yes?
Alright, run.
There's a marker. Oh, my God, yes.
Church of the Panagia.
It's right here.
Hi.
Crystal and Reem,
you are the 14th team to check in.
I mean, we didn't come last.
That's great.
Did you think you were last?
Yep.
Why?
Couldn't drive manual.
Kept stalling the car.
Nearly killed us all.
Multiple times.
Luckily the Izuzus are both auto.
Well, good effort.
I'm proud you're still in.
Well done.
Thank you, Beau.
Good on youse. Good on ya.
Now, go warm up.
Warm up and cheer up.
Go down there.
Oh, my God.
We were fully resigned
that we were in last place,
we were gonna be eliminated.
Tiffany and Cynthia,
you are the last team to check in.
You can be proud, though.
Yeah, definitely.
Yeah, we are.
We fought hard to get here.
We could have stopped
on that bloody hill, eh?
Yep.
Oh.
We're good.
You miss home?
Yep.
Well, girls, this is
a predetermined Non-Elimination Leg.
Oh, stop.
No way.
Oh, no.
Oh!
You're still in the race.
No way.
Good job.
Thank you.
Well done.
Thank you, Beau.
Don't come last again.
I can't promise you'll be still in.
Go this way.
Just in. They thought
they were going home.
Next time
on the Amazing Race Australia,
it's not a nice day
No, the wind!
Quick, Lil!
..for a white wedding
as nature itself
What's out there?
What is that? Is that a cloud?
..threatens to stop the race.
We've just been told that
there's a blizzard on the way.
This is unprecedented.
Everyone's evacuated.
Chairlifts are about to close.
We have to get to
the bottom of the mountain ASAP.
Amazing Race Australia
teams travelled
from Morocco to Greece
Pretty sure Caesar came from Greece.
..where Angel and Frankie
just beat the cops to the Pit Stop.
Good job. That was close.
Couldn't get you at the end.
Do you think you're going to
pick this up or no?
But our flamboyant friends
Let's find the Pit Stop.
..fell at the final hurdle.
Sam and Alex, unfortunately
your time on the Race is over.
Tonight, with our lawyer cousins
in isolation,
Greece's most famous island
We're in Santorini!
You can do this.
..will see 15 exhausted teams
Athens wiped us clean out.
Yeah, yeah.
I can't.
..face the climb
This is, by far,
the worst challenge ever.
Whoa! Whoa!
..of their lives.
I'm honestly dead.
- I can't do it.
- Stop saying that!
This is the Amazing Race Australia.
The country of Greece
is made up of over 6,000 islands
with only 277 of them inhabited,
a place packed full
of ancient culture, tradition
and some modern-day
Western world partying.
Our 15 teams are on their way here
to Santorini,
a place with breathtaking views,
five-star luxury
and the world-famous
white-capped buildings.
And it is the picturesque location
for the fifth leg
of the Amazing Race Australia.
Teams are being released
in the order they checked into
the previous Pit Stop.
Yep.
"Welcome to the stunning
Greek island of Santorini."
"Make your way to
the Vlychada fishing port"
"To find your next clue.
You have 35 euro"
"For this leg of the race."
Alright, let's go.
All teams will be
driving manual cars
the 12 k's to Vlychada,
one of the three
main fishing ports
on the island,
and on the dock,
they'll find their next clue.
Yeah.
Alright.
Damn, I wonder
what those other teams
that can't drive manual
are gonna do.
All these cars are manual.
Manual. Manual. Manual.
Manual. I think they're all manual.
Manual. They're all manual.
Oh, they're all manual, bro.
Oh, this is so strange.
I've never driven manual in my life.
I think
you need to change gears.
This car keeps jumping
and I don't think it's the car.
Driving on the wrong side
of the road,
we have a disadvantage already.
OK. Please.
I don't want to kill us. Ahh!
Make sure to get on
the right side of the road.
It just said, "Port this way."
Yeah, you're on the left side
of the road right now.
Oh, shit.
"Welcome to the stunning
Greek island of Santorini."
"Make your way to
the Vlychada fishing port
"to find your next clue."
"You have 35 euros
for this leg of the race." Let's go.
Pick up marked car. Drive.
That's it.
Oh, lordy.
We were at the back of the pack
from the Athens leg,
so we have a lot of making up to do.
Oh, wow!
Go! Pull up!
I am. I'm pulling up right here.
Whoo! What a drive, baby!
Whoo!
Whoo-hoo! Let's go.
We're in Santorini!
Alright, let's do it.
OK.
Oh, yes.
Whoo-hoo!
Detour!
A Detour is a choice
between two challenges,
each with their own pros and cons.
Teams must choose
between Hustle or Bustle
and teams can change Detours
at any time.
Teams that choose Hustle
must pick up an order from Yaya
for 1.5 kilos of octopus,
1 kilo of bass
and 2 kilos of sardines.
All three types of seafood
are mixed in with today's catch.
Teams must sort through the pile,
extract the exact amount of each
of the three types of seafood
and, once they've weighed
the correct amount of each one,
Yaya will give them their next clue.
Or teams can choose Bustle.
To catch fish, fishermen need nets
and it's a full-time job
keeping them in perfect condition.
Teams must repair
five metres of damaged nets
as demonstrated by Captain Yannis
in the traditional way
using a special 10-inch needle.
Once completed
to the satisfaction of the captain,
they'll receive their next clue.
What do you wanna do?
I think that sounds easier.
Was that your gut decision?
Yeah, obviously!
OK, we're doing Bustle. Let's go.
OK, Bustle. Let's go.
Oh, there's the flag.
Oh, yeah. Cool.
Hello!
Captain
Captain?
Captain Yannis? Detour.
What does it say?
Hello?
Hello?
To make things a bit harder,
the master
who was doing the demonstration,
apparently he didn't talk.
We just have to watch and learn.
Oh, he's not gonna talk to us.
And we had to mimic it
and make sure that we did
five metres of this.
No, it looks super hard.
Ooh! Jeez!
I did not mean that!
I didn't mean that!
Where's the key?
I think they're inside.
Is it unlocked?
It feels really awkward
to drive manual with my right hand.
Ooh! Oh, my God.
Oh, my God!
This is scary!
Whoa! What the?!
A car!
A car?
Yes. Keep going.
Oh, it's 'cause the roads
are so narrow.
Yes. Just be aware of it, please.
Sorry.
What the heck was that?
I hit the window. Sorry.
You hit your What window?
Passenger's window
just hithit the side of a car.
Oh, my God!
That's alright.
The damage was, uh, done.
Detour - Hustle or Bustle?
OK, let's do Hustle.
Alright.
Find Yaya at the shopfront
and collect the fish order.
Yaya?
Hello.
Hello.
Thank you.
OK.
How much? How many?
1.5 kilos.
1.5. They're about 500 grams each.
Yeah.
Alright, so, the sardines - how many?
Two kilos.
Alright, they're light, so a lot.
Oh, hang on, babe.
There's different little ones.
So, yes. Not these ones.
The big fish?
Yeah.
Uh, one kilo. One.
I reckon let's try that.
Let's go and try that.
Correct, yeah.
Oh, golly. 500.
Oh, my God, they're heavy.
We were right.
Fish. Just chuck him on,
see what he weighs.
No, we need two of them. OK.
How many of these do we need?
Two kilos?
Two kilos.
The toughest part was probably
getting the weights right.
OK, let's go.
Go, go, there's another team here.
Oh, there's lots of other teams here.
Alright, ready?
Ready, Fliss? Go.
- Detour.
- I'd say Hustle.
Hustle. I'd say Hustle.
Hustle. Let's go.
Sort and weigh. We'll do Hustle.
Alright, Hustle.
Detour. Hustle or Bustle?
I think Hustle.
Hustle, Hustle. Me too.
We're doing Hustle.
Let's go.
Detour.
Alright, let's do Hustle. Let's go.
Hustle.
Let's go.
Let's go find Yaya!
We're changing our Detour
to Bustle. We're going to fix nets.
Once we saw the fish
and the octopus
Having to weigh it out and guess
how much it's gonna weigh
And how much it would have smelled,
I was, like,
"Nah, I don't wanna touch that."
Why is that engine sign on?
It's a fuel sign.
Do we need fuel?
Oh, shit, hon,
we need to pay for fuel!
That's what our leg money's for.
So, um, it says, "You've got $35
for this leg of the race."
Obviously, that's what it's for.
What else is your 35 bucks for
when your car's on empty?
Think about it.
Put two and two together.
I have 35 euros.
Yes.
How much is that?
35. Thank you!
How much did you put in?
Oh, it's full.
Oh, that was half a tank.
I thought THAT was the fuel.
Well, I hope we don't need money
to get into the fishing port now,
seeing as Jamus just realised
we already had a full tank
It wasn't me.
You said we needed petrol too!
You were looking at the wrong sign!
No.
Yes!
60, 70, 80, 90.
We were sitting in first place
and we were kinda cruising.
Oh, one team's coming over here.
And then we start seeing
the other teams catching up to us.
OK, let's go, let's go.
Put the bags down.
And this is where things
got really frustrating.
Yeah, you just have to watch him.
He won't talk to you.
So, he skips one,
goes to the next one.
He'll thread through it three times.
One, two, three.
Oh, fo
And then he goes to the next.
So, four.
Skip one, four.
Next.
Shoot.
It wasn't until
I was trying to help them
that I realised we had actually
been doing the wrong thing
the whole time
and then I was, like
I think it's gonna be OK.
And we were already,
like, halfway through.
No, we were more than halfway
through. We were almost done.
Alright, so we're choosing Bustle?
Hustle? Alright, let's go Hustle.
Alright, let's do it.
Hustle. Let's go Hustle. Go.
I reckon seafood.
Seafood?
"Find Yaya at the shopfront.
"Collect her fish order
which you will need to fulfil."
Good morning, Captain Yaris.
Good morning.
Sardines, octopus
and the other one.
Ooh! Oh, God, I don't like seafood.
This is scary.
What is this?!
Everything that we bring up
needs to be exact.
Alright. It's not heavy enough.
It's not heavy.
Alright.
1.5.
We'll ask the guy. We'll go,
"Which one's one kilo for the fish?"
Yep.
One, two.
You got it, babe.
I think we are getting
a rhythm going.
My mum is amazing.
Taught me as a kid
to knit and crochet
and, you know,
all that needle-threading stuff.
"Take your net to Captain Yannis
and get in line to be checked."
Where's Captain Yannis?
Looks like him right there.
That's how it was.
Yes! Yes!
Good work.
Good work.
Yes! Yes! Yes! Oh, my God! Yes!
Life lessons learned, so
Yeah.
Yes! What?! That's crazy!
"Route Info.
"Give a donkey a day off and help
transport luggage up the hill
"from the Old Port
to receive your next clue."
Teams must now
drive north
to Santorini's capital
and centre of
art and culture, Fira.
514, 515.
Come on, buddy. 516.
In this challenge,
our teams must come here
to the famous Karavolades Steps.
Now, the 516 steps - and I know
because we just counted them -
lead all the way down to the Old Port
where, for centuries, the humble ass
has carried up luggage and supplies
for locals and travellers alike.
Each team must pick up 15 kilos
of luggage from the port,
collect an ass and guide it
all the way to the top.
Did I mention there's 516 steps?
We gotta go. We gotta be first.
Come on.
How was that, Cynthia?
I know!
We did good, bubba.
Yeah, we did.
It's saying,
"Drive to Three Bells car park."
Right. Oh, my goodness.
Oh, everyone's there!
How?
Jamus, shut the hell up now.
No.
What do you wanna do?
Nuh, let's do the other one.
Oh, frick. So, do you wanna
go do the other one?
Yeah. I'm not unpicking all of that.
That would take so long.
Let's go.
OK, let's go.
This leg,
it was just falling to pieces.
I'm so annoyed!
Like, I'm so frustrated
we went from the front
Bit gutted.
..to the back.
Let's go.
Yeah, yeah. Stop, stop, stop.
We had to have
two kilos of sardines
..1.5 kilos of octopus
..and a kilo of fish.
Yeah.
Thank you!
Thank you. Cheers.
Alright, that's perfect.
"Give a donkey a day off"
"And help transport luggage
up the hill from the Old Port
"to receive your next clue."
OK, let's go.
By this time, we had lost
our place of first place
to probably, like,
second or third last.
Around last, yeah.
Thank you.
Thank you.
What do you want first? Octopus.
How much?
Octopus. Two kilos.
I don't like slimy things.
Oh, my gosh.
Just grab it, grab it, grab it.
Eugh.
Oh, my God! This is so disgusting.
I think that's 1kg.
Yuck!
We have to take it over to him.
I think it's pretty good.
I think we could catch fish with it.
I think we could catch some fish.
"Give a donkey a day off
"and help transport luggage
up the hill from the Old Port
"to receive your next clue."
Don't like that one.
Alright, all good.
Do you wanna just come with us.
We'll all do it together?
Yeah, all do it. Yeah, definitely.
Got to work together, right?
The boys are gonna weigh
the correct amount
now that they've got their turn
and then give it back to us.
Let's go! Oh!
Sealed the deal, man.
Thank you. Thank you, thank you.
Thank you, thank you. Alright.
Here. This is all you need.
This is all you need.
Thank you!
What is the car park
called again? Three what?
Three Bells.
Three Bells.
Fira? Fira?
Yep, Fira.
That's where we need to go.
It's crazy. We get a leg ahead
and then we get lost.
Three Bells.
Alright, let's go.
Come on, then.
This is it? Cable car entrance.
"Ride the cable car to the Old Port
and search for the donkeys."
You in?
Yeah.
So, we choose a donkey,
select a pile of luggage.
The donkey can't carry any luggage
or our bags.
This one.
So, do we basically
walk the donkeys back up the hill?
Yep. You go up all these steps.
Jesus.
Oh, that's just cruel,
making us come up here by foot
when there's
a perfectly good cable car.
Move it into another spot
to make it easier.
Girls, if youse get it right,
can we have your crates
and then hand them to them?
Been here for ages.
Yeah, but we're after
Like, if you get it right.
As Angel and Frankie
I think just got there,
and we just felt so bad
for all the other teams
that were there
for two to three hours.
I mean, you don't have to, but
if you're gonna help them, then
We just don't wanna be last
and we have
100%. We understand that.
That's alright. If youse
don't wanna help, that's fine.
I felt bad.
She had her game face on.
I couldn't.
No, you did the right thing.
I'm so glad you did that.
The Indigenous boys
gave these two their crates
and they don't want to
give it to anyone else.
This was one kilo before.
OK?
Thank you. Yes.
Shit.
Thank you.
Thank you!
I cannot believe them!
It's alright.
Thank you! Thank you, thank you.
Yay! Thank you so much!
Thank you.
Thank you.
Yes! Thank you!
Thank you. Thank you.
Oh. Yuck.
One kilo.
Two kilo.
Two kilo. Almost there.
It's too light.
It's too light, so just
chuck all of those to that side
and remember
you're getting rid of that, OK?
You had to have
specifically that much fish
when you put it on the scale
for Yaya to go
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Whoo! Thank you so much!
Thank you!
Awesome. Thank you very much.
Thank you.
"Give a donkey a day off
and help transport luggage"
"Up the hill from the Old Port
to receive your next clue."
Let's go.
Alright, Heath, pick sensible.
Let's do a weight thing, Tones,
first.
Let's just
These have got handles, though, hey?
And that can just
go under your armpit.
Hello, sir.
Can we have a donkey?
Yes.
Yes?
Oh, lordy. What do you wanna take?
How good's this, Tones?
Is it a boy or a girl?
I don't know.
Are you a boy or a
Girl.
Girl.
Girl.
Good girl. We like girls.
Well, you've got a lot of stairs,
but a beautiful view.
There's a good girl.
Doing very well.
Such a beautiful day!
Oh, it's stunning.
This is one of life's moments, Heath.
Oh, 100%.
It's a good day to be alive.
Good day.
- Look at that.
- This is so beautiful!
Whoo! Look at us going down
the mountain!
Beautiful.
We don't have to climb
that mountain, do we?
I hope not.
Oh, there's a donkey up there.
Where?
Up there.
Oh, my God, yeah. There they are.
They're doing the challenge.
Yep.
We can do this.
One in front of the other.
That's all we've gotta do.
Good job.
I think I'm gonna die.
There's absolutely no way I will
make it up those stairs at all.
Not happening.
Don't drop anything.
I won't.
I'm just saying,
try not to drop anything.
Hello.
One donkey.
One donkey, please.
Oh, my God. That donkey's huge!
Donkey's coming.
Ooh!
- It'll go the speed of you.
- Yep.
If I hold back,
it's 'cause of donkey.
Donkey was nice.
Donkey was good.
But he was big.
Big donkey.
Sorry.
Trust me.
Yes, yes, yes!
Oh, she said yes.
Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you.
Oh I wanna wash my hands.
Yeah, leave it.
Yes!
Yes, thank you, thank you.
Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you, Yaya!
Come on, bro! Oh, my gosh!
It's alright, hon. Relax!
"Park your car in the car park,
"lock the doors
and take your bags and keys.
"Make your way on foot to the
cable car station. You will need"
Oh, shit!
What?
"You will need to purchase tickets
for you and your crew."
Oh, wow.
D-Day. Home time.
We both thought we needed it!
No, I can't see from here!
I'm only going off
what you said, mate.
You read the gauge
and it said we were empty
and it wasn't even.
So, we're going home now.
Oh, man! I am in a relationship
with a dumb-arse.
Um
Kamari, Mesaria, Karterados.
Kavos Centre.
No? No idea?
No. None of this is matching.
Oh.
You're pulling me up, donkey.
Can I be pulled?
No.
You've got this.
You've got this, my love.
Oh, thank you so much.
Thank you. Oh!
Thank you.
Hey! Oh.
Sorry!
It's a Road Block.
Oh, right.
"Who can fly like the wind?"
You want me to do it?
Sure.
OK.
A Road Block is a challenge
that only one team member must
complete based on a cryptic clue.
Teams must now drive to
the cliffside town of Oia,
a global destination for
international parkour championships.
In this Road Block,
one member from each team
must take on
the extreme sport of parkour.
A rooftop course has been set
by a Greek parkour pro.
One member from each team
will be taught five parkour moves
and they must display
three of them correctly.
But if they fail the course,
they'll have to do it all again.
And if they complete the course,
Panos, will you give them
their next clue?
Definitely.
Let's go. Let's go.
Let's go.
Got it? Alright, let's go.
Good boy!
Is he hard to move?
Do you need help?
I'm hard to move, not him.
Hut, hut! Good girl. Hut, hut.
So, I definitely think
we're on the right track now.
Cable car is here,
which is where we are.
Hello.
Hey, guys.
What's up, boys?
Boys, we need to ask you a favour.
What's that?
Whatever change youse have,
can we please borrow it?
I thought that
He thought our car needed fuel.
I thought we needed fuel
and I put the money in for fuel.
He put all the money in the fuel.
Oh, my God, we can't pay to get us
into this route. We had no money.
Thanks, mate.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much.
It's, yeah, amazing.
So, we work so well together,
all of us.
We all help each other out.
I'm so grateful.
Give that to them.
Oh, thank you.
I just hope we've done
the right thing.
Yeah.
We'll hold the basket together.
I'm game with that.
Yeah.
Can I go to the front?
Alright, hon, come to the front.
How do I get to the front?
Go. Come.
Just wait.
Good job!
Good job.
Alrighty.
Ow.
Aww! He's so cute.
Do you want me to hold it?
Yep.
I'm already stuffed.
Yeah, same, bro.
Can donkeys kick you from behind
or is that only a horse?
No, well, it's possible.
Oh, shit!
Chill, dude! Chill!
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa!
Oh.
Oh, you shit!
Come on, Sammy, pull it.
Oh, Sam!
We had a runaway donkey.
It was running off.
It was in fifth gear.
Running up that hill.
Can youse grab the donkey?
Whose horse is that?
Why is there a random donkey?
Just got a shit donkey.
sake!
Enjoy that.
Is that helping?
Yeah.
That's it. You're doing great.
Come on. You've got this.
We bring it home, donkey.
I think I'd rather bring it home
on a boat.
Well, you don't have
that chance today.
That was the worst thing
I've ever done.
That is unbelievable.
I'm so proud of you.
It wasn't amazing. Oh, God.
OK, we'll give you a rest.
Road Block.
"Who can fly like the wind?"
You gonna have a crack or me?
Sure.
What do you wanna do?
I'll do it.
Come on!
Going up the stairs with donkey
and laundry.
Hard.
Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you.
Keep charging, keep charging.
We're making up more ground.
Can you please check my twigs?
Trust me,
your twigs are perfectly the same.
I feel like they're falling.
Come on, Dimitri.
"Who can fly like the wind?"
I'll do it.
You gotta do it.
I think you should do it.
I'll do it.
I'll do it.
It's my turn now.
I can do it. It doesn't matter
about turns. I can do it.
I feel bad.
No, I'll do it.
Let's go.
Come on.
I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.
That's OK.
It was shit.
It was horrible.
Here. Come have some water.
It's not that. I just can't breathe.
I can't breathe.
Struggled a lot.
I struggled.
I had the carpet in my back.
My back felt like it was breaking
and I just struggle up hills
in general.
Come on. Help me. Help me.
Oh, this guy's got the idea.
Might be a new donkey.
That donkey was too strong.
Good one.
Hey, the boys! Let's go.
Alright. Come on.
You got it, boys!
Youse have got a stubborn one.
Oh, our last one, it booted.
It got scared.
So, what? Youse had to change?
It ran off.
Oh, what?
That second donkey didn't want a bar
of it.
It was just eating bloody grass
the whole time.
It was on smoko.
You right?
Hmm But we're not far.
Like, that's
So, we're here.
Where's the clue again?
Our navigation was not that good.
No, our navigation was
But to be fair,
we didn't have a really good map.
That's what we're looking for,
Three Bells car park.
Yeah.
I wanna say let's find
the car park closest to there.
Should we just try
and go back to where we was
with the church
with the Three Bells?
Maybe this is it here.
Oh, my God. This is a car park.
Look there. One, two, three.
Oh.
Three bells.
How do we get down there?
"Make your way on foot
to the cable car station."
And go that way.
Can you see them with the donkeys?
Yep.
There are quite a few teams
in front of us now
and it's a long way up
with backpacks and a donkey.
Optimistic.
I need you to be optimistic
with me
or we're both gonna have a meltdown.
Coming up, flying high
Ooh!
..or gone with the wind?
- What happens if I fall?
- Go.
Hold on.
No, I'm fine.
Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop.
'Scuse me, can we bother you
to get some instructions?
We're tourists and we're lost.
No English?
OK.
Alright.
I say if we see anyone else
that doesn't look drunk
This thing is helping me by pulling
me, but I'm trying to pull it back.
What am I supposed to do?
Just relax!
My backpack is killing me!
Whoo! Thank you.
Ooh.
The donkey's very strong.
How do you say thank you
in Greek again?
Efharisto.
Efharisto.
Efharisto.
Thank you.
Good donkey, this one. Good donkey.
Road Block.
Oh, no!
"Who can fly like the wind?"
That's you.
Oh, you like heights.
I'll do it.
I'm gonna do the Road Block.
Yeah.
Give it a go
'cause I did the last one.
I've heard of parkour before
and I know it's, like,
a YouTube sort of sensation
and it's just, like, bouncing,
jumping off walls and stuff,
so I was, like,
"Could be good at it."
Me.
We're on the Santorini wall of beauty
and I had to do
this little course of stunts
and correctly complete
three of five of the stunts.
Go, Gabby.
I knew that we really needed
to one-and-done it
Go, Gabby!
..so I went to work
and parkoured my way up.
Do a roll, Gabba.
You got this. Whoo!
Yay! Thank you!
Congratulations.
Thank you! Thank you!
Good job, good job.
"Route Info.
"Race on foot to
the Church of Panagia"
"..to find Beau
at the next Pit Stop."
Our teams are now racing on foot
and must find me here
at the jewel on Santorini's crown,
the breathtaking church,
the Panagia Akathistos Hymn.
Originally built in the 1800s, it was
destroyed by an earthquake in 1956.
But, thank a Greek god,
it was rebuilt in 1965
because it's our Pit Stop
for the fifth leg of
the Amazing Race Australia.
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
Let's go!
Hello. Yasu.
Can you please help us?
Yes?
Yes. Do you know where
this one here is?
Do you know to reverse?
No.
I don't know how to reverse.
Can you push it?
Turn the wheel!
I am!
Turn that way.
I'm turning!
I need to turn this way.
It was a roller-coaster.
Yeah, there's an arrow.
OK. Yep.
You'll be right. You've got this.
Trust me. I'm proud of you.
Here.
Come on, come on! Let's go, hon!
We've gotta make
as much time as we can.
Hi. How are you?
Hello. Good. You?
Yeah, good, thank you.
Thankfully, I only had to
get three out of five.
Oh!
Yes!
OK?
Thank you so much.
Whoo!
Hello!
You OK?
Hi!
That was so good.
- It's yours.
- Thank you, bro.
"Who can fly like the wind?"
Alright, I'll do it.
They can't have already raced
a donkey up the hill.
We knew we were last
going into the donkey challenge.
Give me the best donkey you've got.
Lucky donkey?
Walking through shit.
I can't.
We have to!
And then looking up,
you've got millions of steps -
what looks like millions of steps -
going in a big zigzag
all the way up to the top
and you're just, like, "Nah, this is
not the place I wanna be right now."
Yes, we know, we know.
Shoot me.
OK, let's go.
This is by far
the worst challenge ever.
I was waiting for her to pull
the pin and I was gonna join her.
I can't do this.
- I gotta go across here?
- Yes. Just walk.
I'm too old for this shit.
I'm not gonna pass you
because I know
you can definitely do 100% better.
Argh!
Ooh!
Ooh!
Really? Thank you so much!
Perfect.
Yes! Thank you.
Well done.
Thank you!
Well done!
Thank you, thank you!
Yes! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much.
Thank you, thank you.
Go!
"Route Info.
"Race on foot to
the Church of Panagia"
"Akathistos Hymn to find Beau
at the next Pit Stop."
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
"Follow the marked path."
I saw it down there.
- I can't do it.
- Stop saying that!
Of course,
she didn't believe in herself.
That's it. Good girl!
Now put that other foot over.
That's a long way.
Yeah.
You've got it, Jodie.
Go for the windowsill on your foot.
Yeah.
What happens if I fall?
You won't. You won't.
Go. That's it.
You've got it.
Very nice. Good girl. Come on.
Only one more to go.
You got this. Come on.
That's it. You've got it.
You've got it.
That's it.
Yay! Well done.
Good day at work. Yes!
Well done. Now your tuck and roll.
That's it.
Oops.
Well done.
Thank you very much.
Cha-cha-cha!
You're the man. Thank you.
Run.
Thank you.
Top three.
Top three?! Yeah, boy!
"Race on foot to
the Church of Panagia"
"To find Beau
at the next Pit Stop."
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated."
Let's go.
Did you watch 'I'm A Celeb
Get Me Out of Here' this year?
No, you didn't. Good.
No food in there, man.
Oops.
Your handbrake's up again!
Oh, that's why.
I'm done.
Sorry.
Sorry.
Sorry! Sorry! Sorry. Sorry, mate.
I do not know.
Don't know how to drive this.
Here it is.
Straight ahead? Thank you.
Coming up
Which way? Which way?
..will a race to the finish
end in a Greek tragedy?
You are the last team to check in.
Do you know who the new Bachelor is,
by any chance? No?
Come on, Flick.
So, navigating our way
through the streets was hard.
Every nook has a cranny
has a nook has a cranny.
And then there's a dead end and
you're kinda, like, "Oh, shit."
And then you go down one gate
and it's a hotel.
That's wet paint.
Going down here, then?
No, but this hill's private.
Private? Private property?
Which way?
Right 'cause it goes up that way.
This one?
Yeah, Panagia.
Which way?
There. Up.
Do you know where
the Church of Panagia is?
Do you have Google on your phone?
Google Maps?
Please.
I know.
Hurry up! Where are they?
I know. It's getting dark.
I hate this donkey!
This is our last chance to be
'Cause we're going home.
- We don't know that.
- We do!
No, we don't.
When we got to the top,
we were just knackered.
Nope.
Yeah, I'm tired.
Oh, look here. Road Block.
"Who can fly like the wind?"
I can fly like the wind.
You can fly like the wind.
You've got to be kidding me.
Like, are we really
gonna be doing parkour,
jumping around
doing flips or something
after we just wrecked ourselves
going up this hill with a donkey?
Come on, babe.
I think we knew
we were in a good position,
but, really,
we just wanted to be top 10.
Yep.
Come on.
I'm coming. I'm coming.
This way, they said.
Yeah, Toni. Watch your head.
Ooh, guys, watch your head.
Whoo!
Nearly there, Flicka.
Go down that way.
Here it is! Here's the arrow!
Hello!
Yay!
Thank you so much.
Welcome to Santorini.
Beautiful. Thank you.
This is Yaya.
Hi, Yaya.
Heath and Toni
..you are the first team to check in.
Top 10!
Top 10? Top 1!
That is awesome.
Number one.
Yes!
Well done, babe.
You've won a $5,000 travel voucher
to wherever you want
thanks to 10Travlr.
Aww.
That's awesome, Beau.
Thank you.
Thank you.
That's what it's all about for us,
isn't it, this trip?
It's to get my family to Aus as much
as possible while I'm still here.
We'll take that. Oh, my gosh.
We'll take it. Thank you so much.
Good on ya.
Cheers, Beau.
Go and get warm.
We smell of fish. Sorry, mate.
There's a joke in there.
Anyway, go down that way.
Just my hands.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh!
Thank you!
Welcome to Santorini, boys.
Thank you, Beau.
Pako and Mori,
you are the second team to check in.
What?!
Oh, my God!
You did it! You did it!
Flick and Gabby,
you are the third team to check in.
Oh, no way!
Mm.
Stop it. Stop it.
No way!
We had to cross off
that emotional charge all day.
I'm so proud of us.
We had to push it back till the Pit
Stop and then it just came out.
Yep.
Good job.
The fish.
I know. You stink. Go down there.
Very fishy, you know what I mean? Mm.
So, it's Stuey's turn
to do a Road Block.
Nice, Stuey. Nice, nice.
Oh, shit.
It turns out
I'm pretty bad with parkour.
You got two out of three.
Yep, awesome.
Number two. Two.
Yes. One more.
Just found out parkour on that day.
I didn't even know
what the word meant.
English isn't
my first language, bro.
Yeah. Thank you, man.
I've never done anything like that.
Some white boy shit, man.
"Race on foot"
"To find Beau at the Pit Stop."
"Last team to check in
may be eliminated."
Quick, quick, quick.
I need to put my jacket on!
I don't understand!
Who you yelling at?
I'm honestly dead.
Flag there.
Bravo.
Thank you, Yaya. Bravo.
Bravo.
Thank you. Good to see you.
- Run, run! Come on! Ready?
- Ready?
Three, two, one. Jump!
Ooh.
Yes, guys!
Fliss and Tot, you are
the fourth team to check in.
Kelly and Georgia,
that makes you guys
the fifth team to check in.
Yeah!
Good effort.
Chelsea and Jamus,
you are the sixth team to check in.
Good job.
- Ready?
- Yahoo!
Tammy and Vince,
you are the seventh team to check in.
Go, Tam.
Ooh!
Right leg through.
- Yes.
- No.
Stop, stop, stop, stop,
stop, stop, stop.
And then jump.
I think that really drained us.
I think it pushed us both
to our breaking point.
Jump with one foot.
Run. Run and jump. Run and jump.
What? One person!
Sorry.
I did know that the auntie
and niece, Tiff and Cynthia,
I knew that they were behind us.
We do wanna stay in the game.
We weren't ready to leave.
Yeah.
We just didn't feel like
it was our time.
Run. Run and jump. Run and jump.
What? One person!
Sorry.
We were losing it at each other.
We were getting really frustrated.
We just had to let out
our frustrations
Good girl. Good job.
Yay!
Come on.
Yay!
Good job. Good job, Reem.
Well done.
Thank you so much. Thank you.
Well done.
"Race on foot
to the Church of Panagia
"to find Beau at the next Pit Stop."
"Hurry. The last team to check in
may be eliminated." Let's run.
One.
Two.
We knew we were last.
Oh, damn. I'm done.
We have to keep going, you know.
That was just my thought process.
Yes, thank you.
Very good. Well done.
Well done.
Thank you so much. Oh, damn it.
"Hurry. The last team to be
checked in may be eliminated."
Sorry!
Nothing. Sorry.
It's back up the other way.
Follow the marked path.
There's an arrow.
Which way? Which way?
Straight ahead? Thank you.
Thank you.
We're on the right direction.
Cool. Flag here.
This is where we came from.
Look at that.
Check that out.
Oh, my God. We've got this.
Oh, that's sweet. OK.
There's a marker.
Come on, Angel. Push.
Oh, my God!
Jodie and Claire,
you are the eighth team to check in.
Stop it.
You are.
Really?
Yeah.
Are you lying?
Oh, my God! I'm so proud of you.
Angel and Frankie, you are
the ninth team to check in.
Oh.
Wow.
Hey, brother.
Sam and Stu,
you are the 10th team to check in.
Oh, baby!
Yes!
Now, go down there. I've got a couple
of donkeys for you, alright?
That had to be one of the toughest
days I've had. Oh, mate.
Oh, we were so pumped.
Best feeling.
So happy to finish 10th.
Steph and Lauren, you are
the 11th team to check in.
Still in.
Morgan and Lilly,
you are the 12th team to check in.
Yes!
Oh, keen!
- Oh, I can see Beau, bro.
- Cool.
At least there's, like
It's the flags.
You know what it is.
Stuart and Glennon,
you are the 13th team to check in.
You're still in, boys.
Surviving, bro.
You like the island life?
Oh, I don't even wanna leave!
It's better than our islands, eh?
I'm pretty sure I lost my passport.
Where's the Pit Stop, do you think?
We might
come at the bottom.
We really don't know
what's gonna happen next.
Hopefully someone
got wrong directions.
Follow the marked path.
I'm shaking. My legs are shaking.
Yeah.
Whereabouts is it?
In the left side is the big one.
Oh, thank you.
Panagia? Thank you.
Five minutes. Yes?
Alright, run.
There's a marker. Oh, my God, yes.
Church of the Panagia.
It's right here.
Hi.
Crystal and Reem,
you are the 14th team to check in.
I mean, we didn't come last.
That's great.
Did you think you were last?
Yep.
Why?
Couldn't drive manual.
Kept stalling the car.
Nearly killed us all.
Multiple times.
Luckily the Izuzus are both auto.
Well, good effort.
I'm proud you're still in.
Well done.
Thank you, Beau.
Good on youse. Good on ya.
Now, go warm up.
Warm up and cheer up.
Go down there.
Oh, my God.
We were fully resigned
that we were in last place,
we were gonna be eliminated.
Tiffany and Cynthia,
you are the last team to check in.
You can be proud, though.
Yeah, definitely.
Yeah, we are.
We fought hard to get here.
We could have stopped
on that bloody hill, eh?
Yep.
Oh.
We're good.
You miss home?
Yep.
Well, girls, this is
a predetermined Non-Elimination Leg.
Oh, stop.
No way.
Oh, no.
Oh!
You're still in the race.
No way.
Good job.
Thank you.
Well done.
Thank you, Beau.
Don't come last again.
I can't promise you'll be still in.
Go this way.
Just in. They thought
they were going home.
Next time
on the Amazing Race Australia,
it's not a nice day
No, the wind!
Quick, Lil!
..for a white wedding
as nature itself
What's out there?
What is that? Is that a cloud?
..threatens to stop the race.
We've just been told that
there's a blizzard on the way.
This is unprecedented.
Everyone's evacuated.
Chairlifts are about to close.
We have to get to
the bottom of the mountain ASAP.
