Help! My House Is Haunted (2018) s06e07 Episode Script
Hotel of Horrors
You are not welcome.
I want you to go.
Help me. Help me, please.
NARRATOR: Across the UK
Woah.
I heard that.
Did you hear that?
Oh, my God!
..terrified homeowners are
being plagued by the paranormal.
(WHISPERING VOICE)
I can see you!
I am scared to death.
(ECHOED THUD)
I need to know, am I safe?
Thankfully, there are three people
(CREEPY NOTES, KNOCKING)
Where did that come from?
BARRI: What was that?
I've got goosebumps.
(FAINT VOICE)
No. I'm not gonna get out.
Oh, my God! Ian, don't leave me.
..who will stop at nothing
(KNOCKING)
(BARRI GASPS)
Someone's behind me.
Who's here with us?
(BARRI SCREAMS)
What the hell was that?
NARRATOR: ..to return our homes
Can you just take the emotion
away from Jayne, please?
BARRI: Two spirit forms.
You're scaring me.
Right next to you.
NARRATOR:
..back to the land of the living.
(FAINT BUZZ, SCREAMING)
This is like a horror movie,
isn't it?
(SCREAMING, RUMBLING, FLICKERING)
(PIERCING TONES)
BARRI: Well, the case notes
for this oneare really good.
They're interesting and I'm excited.
Yeah. I am as well.
It's got lots ofdifferent
elements, I think, this one.
Mh-hm.
(TENSE TONES)
(CREAKING)
NARRATOR: In this investigation
What
Shit!
BARRI: Something literally
fell just behind you.
NARRATOR: ..an employee
living in a hotel of horrors.
All I felt was this pressure.
It was petrifying.
(ECHOED GASPING)
And a manager dealing
with some nightmare guests.
(SHARP BREATH)
That's breathing.
Oh, my God.
Ho, ho, ho!
BARRI: Oh, my God.
NARRATOR: It's a curious case
for the team.
(FEMALE VOICE)
"It happened here."
"It happened here."
Thank you, Alice.
As they uncover a disturbing secret.
(CREAKING)
Do you know anything about
the murder that took place here?
(FAINT VOICE)
(BARRI AND JAYNE GASP)
I just heard that.
I heard it as well.
Whoa, it said yes.
(TINGLING, CREEPY TONES)
So guys, I had this really strange
visitation last night by this lady,
and she floated into my room.
She was wearing, like a blue dress.
Oh, my God.
Do you think that she has anything
to do with the case then, Ian?
I don't know. It would be
interesting though, wouldn't it?
If I walk into the location
and I'm greeted by this lady.
Wow.
NARRATOR: Although Barri and Jayne
have seen case notes,
medium Ian relies solely
on his psychic senses.
It feels very active.
I'm getting a feeling
that it could be two properties,
or it's been converted.
'Cause I'm just getting
a split of energy.
You MIGHT be right.
Oh
We shall see.
(BANG, ECHO)
Our experts have been called in
to investigate this 1830's hotel,
called The Prince Llewelyn.
Located in the pretty Welsh village
of Beddgelert.
(BANG, BUZZING)
It's run by manager Haylee,
and home to supervisor, Jack.
I live on the top floor.
But I can't lie,
it gets quite eerie here on my own,
'cause I've experienced
some unexplainable things.
I need to know, am I safe?
The activity has ramped up,
in my opinion,
since we've been having
renovation work done.
From bangs, to whistling,
to footsteps, to feelings,
to seeing shadows
out the corner of your eye.
(TELEPHONE RINGS)
I've had the telephone phone.
We've answered it, and we just had a
really loud screeching come through.
(SCREAMING)
I do get quite terrified.
(HEAVY BREATHING)
A lot of the guys that work here
started to report strange sightings,
occurrences.
(CREAKING)
One of the most notable was
..a wine glass
just flying off the shelf,
smashing on the floor.
(SMASH)
It was around this time
that we started to get the sense
that whatever energies
or entities were here
might not be of,
you know, a good nature.
One of the main things
that happened to me
I was asleep, and then all I felt
was this pressure
coming down on my hand,
almost like another hand
pushing mine into the bed.
I didn't know what this was.
I didn't wanna open my eyes
to kind of find out.
It's one thing seeing something,
or hearing something,
but physically feeling it touch you?
Um, it was petrifying.
I've called in the team
just to have a look,
and get some answers for us.
Some of our staff members are
uncomfortable being on their own.
A few of them have refused,
not to work at night time any more.
For me as well,
my job is on the line.
It's a case of, I had to ask myself,
"If things do get worse,
what does that mean for me?
"Do I stay? Or does it get to
a point where I need to leave?"
Seriously
(THUD)
Ooh, what was that?
(BACKGROUND HEAVY BREATHING)
Stop.
Shut up.
That is like, quite common,
to be honest.
(PIERCING TONE)
BARRI: Well
Ian, guess what?
What?
We're here.
Is it a hotel or a pub?
It's a hotel.
Oh, that's maybe the confusion
I'm getting then, about the, the
..multiple use of the building,
or something.
Right.
(RAIN SPLATTERS)
NARRATOR: While Barri and Jayne
head off to research further
into the case
BARRI: See you later.
See you later, mate.
NARRATOR: ..Ian's about to see
who's NOT checked out of this hotel.
Hello?
(DOOR CREAKS)
Hello?
Well, there's always something
spooky about hotels.
I absolutely hate them.
They feel soactive.
But I am drawn
..up the stairs.
There's something pulling me there.
Hello?
(SOFT NOTES)
(IAN SIGHS)
(WHISPERING) There's corridors
all over the place.
(CREAKING)
It's really strange though,
because I do feel this would've been
more than one property at one point,
and I think that's the clashes
of energy.
So some feels OK,
but some of them doesn't.
(THUDS, TENSE TONES)
JAYNE: 'Beddgelert dates back
to the 13th century.
'So I'm hoping historian
Jimmy Johnson
'can help paint a picture
of its past.'
Now, this is a beautiful
part of Wales, isn't it?
But has anything ever happened
here in the village
that COULD explain some of the
activity they're experiencing?
We do have some strange,
mysterious and tragic deaths
in the 19th century.
Er, we have the death of an ostler,
I think his name was Robert,
who effectively looked after
the horses in the hotel.
He's actually found dead
at the reins of his carriage,
having driven down the valley
from Ffridd Ddu,
into the village of Beddgelert.
The hotel keeper
and the tavern keepers
were alerted by the sound
of horses' hooves.
They came out and found,
found him dead, sat on the wagon.
(ECHOED RATTLING, TENSE TONES)
That's like a scene
from a horror film, isn't it?
Because to see a coach and horses
coming down through the village,
with a dead driver at the reins.
It's very, very bizarre.
(FAINT FOOTSTEPS, WATER LAPPING)
IAN: So I can hear the water.
See, that's actually
an energy field.
As you can see,
that water is flowing really fast,
and that's charging this property.
But the lady who visited me
spiritually last night
..the lady in blue
Why do I feelshe's here with me?
What's she looking for?
Because I'm drawn to the window,
I feel I need to look out.
(DRAMATIC TONES)
BARRI: 'With so many terrifying
reports from staff members,
'hotel owner Craig
needs a resolution.'
Hey, Craig
Alright, Barri? Good to see you.
Thank you for meeting me out here.
This iscrazy.
So what paranormal activity
has been experienced by yourself
and your staff?
One incident in particular, I was
having a conversation about ghosts
with one of our younger
staff members,
who was just curious
about the building
Then just as I said that,
there was pots and pans
in the kitchen
that started rattling.
(RATTLING)
There was one interesting photograph
that was taken, wasn't there?
It appears to show
a woman at the window.
That's correct, yeah. We were taking
external photos of the buildings
to promote on websites, etc,
and we noticed something strange
in one of the windows,
er, on the first floor.
And when you zoomed
into that picture,
it very clearly looks like a lady
standing at the, the window.
I've seen it.
It looks like a lady
with light-coloured hair,
like blonde-coloured hair,
and a blue outfit of some kind.
It does, yeah.
It looks like she's wearing
a pocket watch, almost like a nurse.
(CAMERA CLICKS)
(HEAVY BREATH)
You can certainly feel
the energy really changing now,
and it feels really heavy.
(HEAVY BREATHING, FAINT WHISPERS)
And downstairs, it felt OK.
But upstairs
..I feel quite nervous,
if I'm honest with you.
Craig, you've got
a member of staff there, Jack.
Yeah.
Who actually lives in the building.
Yeah. He lives on the top floor
within the building itself,
and first of all said that he'd
heard strange noises in the night,
particularly from his room.
And there was one experience
where he felt pressure on his hand,
almost forcing his hand down.
(WATER LAPPING)
Now, you would kind of expect
at an old building such as
the Prince Llewelyn to have
Yeah.
..an element of residual energy.
Even ghosts.
Yeah.
But actively aware spirits
that are able to physically
interact with people.
Yeah.
That's a whole nother level.
Yes.
(TENSE TONES, RATTLING)
(EXHALING SHARPLY) I really feel
uncomfortable in here.
You can clearly see this isn't
rented out to the public.
Somebody must live in here.
I'm gonna sit down here.
I can't take my eyes off the bed,
for some reason.
If I look down
and tune into my senses,
I can see somebody laid on the bed.
But I feel
that somebody's pressing down.
It's almost like
I've been pinned to the bed.
I would be scared if I stayed here.
(CREAKING)
JAYNE:
The hotel is almost 200 years old,
so there could be
plenty of spirits there.
'But to give us some leads,
'I'm researching
its former residents.'
I've started
looking into the census,
because I know that the guys
are seeing a woman in a window,
and that to me
is really significant.
So I'm looking at the census here,
and in 1881,
we have the Jones family there.
Now, Roland Jones is living there
with his wife, Margaret.
They were there with their children.
They lived there
for quite some time.
An added layer of mystery
to this case for us though,
is that we know it actually
used to be three separate dwellings,
so we may not be dealing with
the spirits of the hotel at all.
We might actually
be dealing with people
who lived in those dwellings
many years ago,
whose names are lost in time.
Who knows?
IAN: 'So much of this hotel
is under renovation,
'including this TV room
on the ground floor.'
(EXHALES SHARPLY)
You can feel the atmosphere change.
As soon as you walk in here,
it grabs your gut.
(IAN INHALES SHARPLY)
But I'm getting pulled
to the corner of the room.
There's a gentleman
stood there, looking at me
..and he's got this
strange-looking hat.
I don't wanna say
it's a tricorn hat,
but it looks very strange.
And he may have been a coachman,
or somebody just passing through,
but I do feel his presence
is really strong here.
(DOOR CREAKS)
Wow, this is bright.
(IAN EXHALES SHARPLY)
This is really, really interesting.
Because there's a lot
of utensils in here,
that spirit could try
and draw attention to themselves.
I bet they've touched things
in here before.
BARRI: After chatting with Craig,
I'm interested to see
what Ian's picked up.
This place is so active, mate.
It's unbelievable.
I met up
with one of the owners, Craig.
There's a photograph, has been taken
from the outside of this building,
and it appears to show a lady wearing
a bluish dress with blonde hair,
stood staring back out of the window.
My dream. A lady in blue.
I wonder if there's any connection.
Could be.
Yeah. But the only place
I've not visited is the bar area.
(FAINT RATTLING, TINGLING)
Hey? Wow, interesting place this,
isn't it?
It is, isn't it?
Yeah.
(BUZZ, FAINT TINGLING)
What?
There's a man behind me.
Now.
I feel there's just something here.
Or somebody. There's just,
er, energy to my right.
Well, we need to get started,
don't we?
Yeah, yeah.
Ah, here's Jayne.
Hi. You alright?
Hi, Jayne. Hi, how are you?
This is Haylee and Jack.
Hi, Haylee. Hi, Jack.
Nice to meet you.
JACK: Nice to meet you.
(CROSSTALK)
(WHISPERING) Yeah, but there's
a little boy in there as well.
Two spirits?
A boy.
Yeah.
Behind the bar.
Woah.
BARRI: 'As Ian's already
sensing a boy and a man here,
'we're going to start
our spirit trigger session
'by recording for EVPs.'
Can you please speak with us
and tell us your name?
(SOFT CLICK, GENTLE THUD)
Did you hear that?
JAYNE AND JACK: I heard that.
(CROSSTALK)
Where did that come from?
I don't know.
I heard it most on this side.
Did you live in this building?
(SOFT THUD)
Haylee, what did you just hear?
Like a, like a bang.
Like a reallythud.
I could hear that.
But very light,
like that area there.
And then after that, there was
a little voice in that corner again.
End recording.
And I said "little voice",
so I'm wondering if the little boy
has come in here.
But I think there was a voice,
a response.
I heard something
after your first question.
Let's play this back.
(CLICK, STATIC, FAINT SPEECH)
"I see you."
I SEE you!
Yes.
JAYNE: "I see you."
Ooh!
(HAYLEE LAUGHS)
JAYNE: It says, "I see you."
Doesn't it?
That's incredible.
So the spirits here
are obviously open to talking to us.
That's straight away.
That's literally the first question.
What, what else
have you guys experienced?
When we've been on shift together,
haven't we?
Um, and our phone as well,
it just rang like normal.
And you went to go
and pick it up, didn't you?
That was the weirdest thing.
As soon as he picked it up,
it just did a massive screech,
didn't it? Really loud.
Something about it just seemed off
from the get-go
Yeah.
..as soon as the phone rang.
I'd like to capitalise on this idea
that spirits are able to manipulate
the telephone line.
I wanna take my phone
and place it in your room, Jack.
'Cause I think that could be
the most active area.
For sure. I like the sound of that.
BARRI:
'Jayne's going to call my phone.
'We'll ask questions from the bar.'
JAYNE: "Baz, can you hear me?"
I can hear you.
'And the voice recorder will pick up
any responses in Jack's room.'
So I'll start,
and then maybe Jack,
you're gonna call out after me, OK?
Spirits.
My name is Barri.
(SOFT NOTES)
Please can you leave your voice
..on the recorder?
Spirits, are you a negative energy?
Do you mean Jack any harm?
(FAINT WHISPER)
What?
Oh! My God!
(KAYLEE LAUGHS)
Oh, my
(LAUGHING) Sorry!
There's no-one in that room?
Oh, my God.
That just gave me a fright.
Do you mean Jack any harm?
If you can hear us,
make a sign.
(SOFT THUD)
(SOFT THUD)
(WHISPERING)
There was a knock. In the room.
Footsteps.
Who is that?
JACK:
There's no-one upstairs, right?
Just
Absolutely nobody up there.
'I go and retrieve the recorder,
so we can analyse those responses.'
(HEAVY BREATHING)
That's breathing.
Oh, my God!
(KAYLEE LAUGHS)
Oh, my God.
JACK: Oh, that's
Was that just a breath,
or a (RASPING) "Yeah"?
I couldn't tell.
(CROSSTALK)
Ah, I've got goosebumps.
JACK: Could've been a "yeah."
It was like a breathy
JAYNE: That was an ominous sound
Behave!
(FAINT, RASPING VOICE)
Oh.
That's a "Yeah."
It's like it's going "Yes."
JACK: "Are you a negative energy?"
Oh, fuck.
(HEAVY BREATHING)
Oh, my God.
Oh!
JACK: It's unquestionable.
So we could only hear that once.
We only heard it once, you're right.
Yeah.
And then there's that
kinda clatter before that,
like there's movement before that,
and then (RASPING) "Yeah."
It's like something
was shifting around
Mm.
in your room.
JACK:
"Spirits, should I be worried?"
(SOFT THUD)
(TAPPING)
What?!
What was that?
We did not hear that at the time.
JACK: I'm not sure.
JAYNE: I'm sorry,
but there's clearly an entity,
or an energy in that room.
I think
..something needs to be done
up there.
'We need to find out
who is responsible
'for putting pressure on Jack's hand
while he was in bed.'
I mean, I know we've climbed
a lot of stairs,
but there's a heaviness
that isn't just
Yeah.
..being out of breath.
'We're going to try and make contact
using EchoVox,
'which uses banks of phonetic sounds
'to generate intelligent responses.'
Jack, you ask the question
about what happened to you.
Just get some answers.
Yeah.
What happened to me that day,
I was sleeping,
and you pushed down my hand.
(FAINT SPEECH)
JAYNE: Yeah.
Shh.
I heard that.
Woah! Did you hear that?
Did you hear that?
That was super prominent.
Where?
That was there.
Over that direction.
It just went
(HAYLEE GASPS)
You jumped.
Did you hear it?
Yeah, 'cause it was there. Yeah.
It went proper
(HAYLEE GASPS)
Oh, I've got goosepimples.
What happened to me that night,
I was sleeping,
and you pushed down on my hand.
(STACCATO SPEECH)
(MALE VOICE)
ALL: Bed!
(FAINT VOICE)
Oh
Jack!
Jack!
Oh, my God!
JAYNE: Oh, my God.
"Bed. Jack."
What did you do to me that night?
(DETACHED SPEECH)
When I was sleeping?
(FAINT VOICE)
ALL: Hand.
Oh, my God.
It said "hand felt."
(HAYLEE LAUGHS)
Yeah.
Wow.
Something "hand."
Is it just one energy here?
Or is there multiple?
(FAINT SPEECH)
Three.
Three.
There's three.
And you kept saying three.
So possibly it could be family.
Mm. Could be.
JACK: Mm.
JAYNE: 'Jack seems to be
very in tune with this spirit.
'So we're going to leave him
to call out alone.'
We'll watch from the nerve centre.
Hayley, you gonna join us there?
Yeah, of course. Yeah.
Turn that on with the red button
whenever you're ready.
Awesome. Will do.
OK? Good luck.
Take care.
We'll be watching.
BARRI: Jack's got the Alice Box,
which will announce
any responses picked up.
So it's just me and you now.
There's been a lot going on.
A wine glass flew off the shelf
and smashed on the floor.
Why did you do this?
(BEEPS)
I do feel an energy.
I can'tcellar.
Definitely worth
investigating that later.
JAYNE: Yeah.
It's a spooky space.
It is a spooky, I get very
uncomfortable in that cellar.
So a few times now you've
(BEEPS)
(FEMALE VOICE)
Gun.
FAINT VOICE: "Gun."
JAYNE: Gun?
Not sure what you mean by that.
JACK: "I can definitely
feel a presence now."
If you are here,
please show yourself in some way.
"Give us a sign."
(FEMALE VOICE)
(BEEPS, FAINT SPEECH)
Malice?
JAYNE: So he senses a presence.
The next word to come out
is "Malice."
I wonder if someone
was killed in that room.
You know, he's had "Gun."
"Violence, malice."
Hmm.
Being held down as well.
Yes.
Or pinned down.
Yeah.
Pinned down, yeah.
(BEEPS)
Killed?
(FEMALE VOICE)
JACK: "What died?"
Or WHO died?
There's been quite a few
interesting direct responses
to his questions, right?
Yeah.
'We regroup in the bar
to analyse those responses.'
JACK: Phew!
JAYNE: Something happened.
You alright?
Well done.
JACK: That was intense, yeah.
That's have a look.
JACK: Sure.
JAYNE: A lot of those words
that you were getting, Jack,
were sort of, as you said,
quite rightly implying someone
had been attacked or killed
JACK: Yeah.
Something had happened
in that space.
So you had "violence."
You had "gun."
And it's interesting
"Killed" came out as well.
Killed.
JACK: "Killed"
was the most recent one, yeah.
I mean, you were physically
attacked in your bed, right?
Yeah.
But
..it was a physical attack
of "help me",
possibly grabbing you to say,
"Wake up. Listen to me."
Were they trying
to tell you something?
Is that trying to tell you something?
Yeah. I mean, based on,
you know, what we've been through,
the words it projected,
that could well be the case.
JAYNE: Well, we need to find out.
We've got quite a long night
ahead of us
I think we have. Yeah.
We do indeed.
Thank you for joining us
for this part,
and hopefully we can provide you
with some answers tomorrow.
JACK: Fingers crossed.
Thank you.
We'll see you tomorrow, guys.
(CROSSTALK)
BARRI: Darkness descends
(OMINOUS TONES, DOOR CREAKS)
'..and Haylee and Jack
'leave us alone in the hotel.'
(CREAKING)
(DRAMATIC, SYNTHESISED NOTES)
'To capture any unusual activity
during the investigation,
'I've placed cameras
across the entire property
'..which will be constantly monitored
by the team in our nerve centre.'
So guys, all the cameras
are now set up,
and I would like to focus
our attention
on some major areas
here in this building.
One is Jack's bedroom
Mm.
..that's the attic space where
lots of activity has been reported.
The second area is this bar.
We've got objects moving.
The sound of glasses,
cutlery moving,
and also some of the EVPs that were
captured during spirit triggers.
But there were two cameras
down here in the bar,
and I've moved one
to the cellar area,
and that's because there's been
reports of activity in the cellar.
Plus the word "cellar"
came out of that ITC device
earlier during spirit triggers.
But we need to go to infrared mode,
so I'm gonna let Nerve Centre know.
OK.
Barri to Nerve Centre, over.
"Go ahead."
Can we now switch to infrared mode
on all the cameras?
"Yep, copy that."
(BUZZING, STATIC NOISE)
OK.
'We make our way to the cellar.'
This is so creepy.
Yeah.
'Which is unusually
on the first floor of the building.'
Let's try some ITC, guys.
Now, I've got a new bit of kit.
That's the Ovilus 5.
So this is a word generator.
But spirits are said to be able to
manipulate the environmental readings
to give us words.
It will announce them
at the same time.
Do you wanna call out?
Mm.
Is there anybodyin this cellar,
or this floor,
who would like to try
and talk to us? Communicate?
Can you tell us why you're here?
'I'm sensing there's somebody
standing near Adrian,
'our cameraman.'
Why don't you tell us your name?
Who are we speaking with?
(FEMALE VOICE)
Johnny.
Johnny?
Here's Johnny.
Or John?
Yeah.
Mm.
Shit.
What's that?
Something moved.
Something literally fell
just behind you.
Is your name Johnny? Or John?
Do you know what?
It could be totally irrelevant,
but Roland Jones
Mm-hm.
..who lived here
with his wife and kids
Yeah.
..one of his kids was John.
Really?
What about the boy I saw in a bar?
(FAINT VOICE)
"Sadvoice."
I literally, it feels like
What was that?
Where did that come from again?
I just heard something.
Was it glass?
That sounded like a glass rattle
Yeah, there's glass here.
Can you move an object?
That's something that's been reported
down in the bar area and the kitchen.
Yeah.
Crockery, plates, glasses.
They've all been moved around and
(BARRI GASPS)
"Gun."
"Harry. Gun."
Right, OK.
FAINT VOICE: Glass.
Gun!
BARRI: And glass.
A glass! A glass has just moved.
A glass! Glass. Yeah.
(SOFT THUD)
Oh, my God.
Gun, again.
Yeah.
So that's two separate devices
Yeah.
..have both told us "gun."
Yeah.
There's definitely a murder
of some sort, isn't there?
(FAINT VOICE)
BARRI: Up.
That's the attic.
That's the attic.
Yeah.
Where Jack is.
I think we should go back up
to Jack's room.
Let's go.
Yeah.
You can feel the atmosphere change.
JAYNE: 'Ever since Jack was touched,
'he's felt scared
of his own bedroom.'
I could NOT sleep in this room.
No.
BARRI: 'I've bought a new ITC
application called Spirit Talker,
'which has magnetic, kinetic
and gravitational sensors
'that spirits can use
'to communicate.'
I'm calling out,
or asking for anybody
..here who would like to talk to us.
Who pinned Jack down to the bed?
Who touched his hand?
Did something happen to you
in this room?
(JAYNE GASPS)
(FEMALE VOICE)
Oh.
The lady in blue.
Yeah.
She will touch you.
Will touch you.
So she will touch you.
Does that mean she's gonna
touch Barri? Or one of us?
(FEMALE VOICE)
Protection.
Oh!
Oh.
Are they telling us
that they're trying to protect him
from something then?
Or someone.
Yeah.
Oh, oh, the
(IAN STAMMERS)
God, I feel really emotional.
The female is here.
There's a female here.
You know like
the old fashioned washbasin?
That's what she's got in her hand.
I don't know
whether she's mopping blood.
(CLEAR FEMALE VOICE)
No way! What?
(BARRI STIFLES LAUGHTER)
So the lady with the
(FEMALE VOICE)
IAN AND JAYNE: It happened here.
Thank you, Alice.
So "My name is Alice.
"It happened here."
She has a bowl in her hand
with a towel,
and she's cleaning blood.
Can I just explain something?
Jack took a photograph
of the Prince Llewelyn pub
Mm-hm.
..from opposite side of the road,
and in the window,
which is directly
beneath this bedroom
Mm-hm.
..was what appears to be a woman
in a blue outfit.
Yeah.
Blonde hair.
But you know what's most interesting?
It looks like she's got some
kind of pocket watch, which is here.
It's not a nurse, is it?
It's like a nurse's outfit.
Wow.
Well, that's bizarre because
..I see her with a bowl and a towel.
It does fit
with what you're picking up on, Ian.
It does.
That's pretty amazing.
(CLIPPED FEMALE VOICE)
IAN AND JAYNE: Incident.
There's been an incident.
Alice discovered
a potential incident, a murder.
Using a gun, potentially.
Yeah.
And this is why they are trying
to offer protection to Jack.
I wonder if it's Alice
who touched Jack's hand.
Could be.
Because we had "She will touch you."
Yeah.
And we had "Protection",
was the next thing that came out.
Mm.
'Alice is helping us
piece this puzzle together.
'But we still need to find out
'who the man is Ian picked up
in the TV room
'during his walk round.'
Woo.
So this is, um,
mid-renovation, isn't it?
Yeah, and this will also cause
a lot of problems, wouldn't it?
Because they're knocking
the building around.
'I'm going to run a device
which sweeps radio frequencies,
'allowing spirits to communicate
using the white noise.'
(STATIC NOISE)
So I'm calling out to the gentleman
I saw in here
(STATIC CONTINUES)
..earlier today.
I saw you wearing a hat.
Can you tell me your name?
(STATIC)
Did you know anything
about a murder?
What?
What's that? What's that?
Listen.
(FAINT STATIC)
Listen.
Listen. Turn that off.
(DISTANT TAPPING)
Hello?
Where the fuck is that?
Is that wood?
Someone's banging. No, someone's
Hello?
(FAINT CLICK)
What was your last question
when we heard this?
"Did you know anything
about a murder?"
(SCRAPING, TENSE TONES)
Do you know anything about
the murder that took place here?
Or killing?
(WHISPERING VOICE)
(JAYNE AND BARRI GASP)
I just heard that.
I heard it as well.
That said yes.
A male voice saying yes.
That was a man
who went (WHISPERS) "Yes."
JAYNE: 'Jimmy the historian
'told me about a mysterious death
associated with this hotel,
'and I'm wondering
if it could be connected.'
What's the story, Jayne? That you
So
..it's a really bizarre death,
and it's about an ostler
called Robert.
An ostler obviously was employed
to look after the horses.
Yeah.
And he was employed here
Mm-hm.
..at this hotel.
He was found directly outside
Mm-hm.
..stone dead,
holding the reins of horses
on a horse and cart.
So he was bolt upright,
as you would expect.
But he was dead.
Wow.
There was no explanation at all.
'Significantly, this area
also used to be the stables.'
Now, Ian walked into here,
the area where horses used to be,
and saw a gentleman with a hat on.
Wow.
So this could be Robert.
Let's do a quick EVP burst
and ask those questions.
Robert?
Are you the gentleman
that I saw earlier today,
with a tricorn-looking hat?
Did you have any connection
with the horses?
(SOFT TAPPING)
Definitely heard that.
I did.
Do you want to play that back and
see if we had responses to Robert?
IAN: "Did you have any connection
with the horses?"
(STATIC, SOFT SPEECH)
Bloody hell.
Woah!
That's not a whisper.
That is a voice, clear.
That's a grade A
You could hear that?
Yes, we heard it. I heard that.
'I also sensed this man
in the bar area,
'and as we're hearing bangs
from that direction,
'we move in there.'
I'm gonna run the Alice ITC Box.
We've also got a REM-POD
running on the table as well.
'The REM-POD is a device
'which will sound and light up
when something goes near it.'
You guys call outand I'll record.
OK.
Robert, can you walk towards
(BEEPS)
..my hand? Thank you.
(BEEPS)
Keep walking.
(REM-POD BEEPS)
(FEMALE VOICE)
ALL: Between.
Yep. Hang on.
It's coming.
Here.
Yeah, yeah.
And I said walk to me. Fantastic.
Well
(BEEPS)
Ooh.
(BARRI GASPS)
(FAINT VOICE)
IAN AND BARRI: Scared.
He said he was scared.
Yeah.
So maybe he is still here,
in fear of crossing over?
Yeah.
You also picked up
on a young boy spirit in here,
didn't you?
Hmm.
At the bar.
Yeah. He was behind the bar.
Yeah.
Could that be little Johnny?
It could be.
Johnny?
Johnny, we think
you're the little boy
that Ian was aware of earlier,
behind the bar.
And we think you also spoke to us
in the cellar.
If you can hear me now,
you'll see a little red light
on the table.
(REM-POD BEEPS)
(JAYNE GASPS)
Wow. Well done, Jayne.
Well done.
Johnny,
did your mummy and daddy
own the hotel?
Did they run the hotel?
We think you might beJohn Jones.
Is that correct?
(REM-POD BEEPS)
(BARRI GASPS)
Wow.
(BEEPS)
Thank you.
That's incredible.
(REM-POD BEEPS)
Is that why Johnny's here now?
He wants some help.
Yes.
We need to reunite Johnny with his
family, essentially, don't we?
Yeah.
(ECHOED GASPING)
JAYNE: 'So Robert the ostler
is scared to cross,
'and Johnny wants to be
with his family.'
'But we're still unsure
'why there is such a negative
atmosphere in the attic.'
Oh, that feeling's back as soon
as you come in here, isn't it?
'And we need to ensure
Jack is safe.'
(CREEPY TONES)
Is Alice still with us?
(SOFT VOICE)
Yes.
That's a really soft, gentle "Yes."
We really need to know
what happened in this room.
If we know what happened,
we can help everyone.
We can help you all.
(STACCATO SPEECH)
Did you turn that on?
Witness!
Were you aware of something
that happened here? Something bad?
FAINT VOICE: I dunno.
(WHISPERING)
IAN AND JAYNE: Yes.
Was that a yes?
What did you witness?
(WHISPERED VOICE)
ALL: Death.
(BARRI GASPS)
Oh, my God. That was clear.
Yeah.
(FAINT VOICE)
IAN AND JAYNE: Crime.
Crime.
Crime. Absolutely clear as crystal.
Really clear.
Yeah.
Thank you so much.
Is there somebody here
we need to be afraid of?
IAN:
'I'm not picking up a dark entity.
'Instead, I think
the oppressive atmosphere
'is residual energy
from the murder.'
Can you help us
with something, please? Alice?
We need to know if Jack is safe.
Is Jack safe from harm?
(FAINT VOICES)
Yes.
Yeah.
(FAINT SPEECH)
So we've got Robert,
Johnnyand Alice.
So
..it would make sense
to light a candle in this room.
And send the spirits to the light.
(STIRRING TONES)
'While Ian and Barri stay up here,
'I'm going to smudge
the entire property
'to banish any residual negativity.'
Move on in peace, Robert.
Thank you for helping us.
BARRI:
I've got the spirit box running,
in case there's any
further communication.
(STATIC BUZZING)
We ask you of your guidance,
love, and strength.
(BUZZING)
We ask of you to fill this
room with love and light
(STATIC BUZZ)
..and for all the souls
that are trapped to come forward
(BUZZING, FAINT VOICE)
Safe.
It said "safe."
..in light.
(BUZZING)
Good.
(SOFT, STIRRING TONES)
Please listen to my voice.
You can see the light.
I want you
to walk towards that light
..Alice, Johnny and Robert
..and you'll see a gate,
or a doorway.
I want you to walk through
that doorway,
or that gateway,
where your friends, family and loved
ones will be waiting for you,
to guide you into your next life.
Amen.
Amen.
Name of the father, the son,
and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
(BIRDS CHIRP, SOFT TONES)
BARRI: 'The next morning,
'we collate all our evidence,
'in the hope it will put
Haylee and Jacks' minds at rest.'
Morning.
(CROSSTALK)
How's it going?
You alright?
Yeah. Good, thank you.
We had a very interesting evening
in your hotel.
We approached the investigation
quite strategically,
and you might remember
during spirit triggers,
one of the last words you had
was "cellar."
It was, yeah.
Mm. I remember that.
And so once you left us,
we decided to head there first.
We used an instrumental
trans-communication device,
called the Ovilus 5.
It generates words on screen,
and also announces them as well.
IAN:
"Why don't you tell us your name?
"Who are we speaking with?"
(FAINT VOICE)
ALL: Johnny.
As clear as day, wasn't it? Yeah.
Johnny.
Mm.
Solooking through
the census records for this place,
we knew that in the 1881 census
there was a Jones family here.
In fact, Roland Jones
had grown up here.
The family
were on the previous census.
But in 1881,
he had a little boy called John.
Woah.
John Jones.
Crazy.
That's mad.
JACK: That's insane.
So we know
IAN: Yeah.
..that a John,
who clearly answers
to the name Johnny
..lived here.
JACK: Pieces of the puzzle
Yeah.
..adding up now, aren't they?
IAN: So he's the little boy who was
stood behind a bar as well.
IAN: "What about the boy
I saw in a bar?
"Was that John?"
JAYNE: "Sad. Voice."
BARRI: "Oh, my God. Said"
JAYNE: "Aww."
JACK: It was clear as day.
IAN: Yeah.
Yeah.
I think we can determine
that the movement of objects,
glasses, plates,
all of those things,
was probably little Johnny,
just being mischievous
and having fun as a playful spirit.
Kids will do what kids do, right?
Yeah.
(IAN AND KAYLEE LAUGH)
Now, following on from that,
we decided to head up
to your bedroom,
which is in the attic.
And this time
we used a different application,
and we connected very strongly
with a particular spirit here.
You're gonna like this.
Mm-hm.
This is absolutely incredible.
So this new ITC application
gives you a word or response,
and in this case, phrases.
Listen to this.
(FEMALE VOICE)
IAN: "Oh."
JAYNE: "The lady."
JACK: There we go.
IAN: Yeah.
She was like clarifying it.
(CROSSTALK ON TAPE)
Now, instantly we thought about
your experience in there
Mm.
..and the lady that's been seen
in the window.
Yeah.
Are they connected?
Is she connected to your experience?
Mm.
There are a few more responses.
IAN: "We got"
(CLEAR FEMALE VOICE)
BARRI: "No way! What?"
Oh, my
(KAYLEE LAUGHS)
JACK: Alice?
IAN: It blew our mind
JAYNE: Yeah.
IAN: ..with that.
I'm speechless.
I don't even know what to say.
(KAYLEE LAUGHS)
IAN: So were we. So were we.
But can I just say something?
At this point,
you were aware, weren't you, Ian,
of a woman in the room?
And you were talking to us
about her, and how she looked.
I realised
Alice is the lady in blue.
She was a nurse.
She had a bowl in her hand
with a towel draped over,
and the liquid was blood.
Now, as Ian was talking about this,
we got another amazing response.
IAN: "Hello, Alice.
"So the lady with the bowl"
(CLEAR FEMALE VOICE)
IAN AND JAYNE: "It happened here."
Something's obviously
happened in his room.
Yeah. Most definitely.
Yeah.
Something bad.
Yeah.
And Alice, I'm guessing,
by the sounds of it,
was looking after them, right?
Yeah.
IAN: Yeah. Yeah.
Well, we were so pleased
to be able to
..almost validate everything
that we thought might be happening.
But we wanted to come downstairs,
and go into your TV room,
because during Ian's walk round,
he'd sensed someone in there.
To the far left,
I saw a gentleman
..with what appeared to be like
a scruffy, squashed tricorn hat.
So knowing
that particular part of the hotel,
at some point in its history,
had been where horses were kept,
maybe a stable area,
and also, of course, knowing the
story of a former employer here.
So Robert Evans, he was an ostler.
He was employed
to look after the horses.
He died in mysterious circumstances
in 1877.
He was found outside, actually.
Sitting at the reins
of a horse and carriage.
Stone dead.
Oh, wow.
Wow.
And the fact that Ian
was picking up on a man
in the area Robert would've worked,
we had to explore that possibility.
And so we asked the question.
IAN: "Did you have any connection
with the horses?"
(FAINT MALE VOICE)
JAYNE: "Woah."
That was definitely a yes.
(KAYLEE LAUGHS)
IAN: So clear, isn't it?
It's quite scarily clear.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Now, I mean, that's an example
of a very clear, disembodied voice.
And I don't think you get much more
of a definitive response than that.
So we asked the question,
"Robert, why are you here?"
Why won't you cross over
into the light?
This was the response.
(BARRI GASPS ON TAPE)
(FLAT VOICE)
IAN AND BARRI: "Scared."
He was scared to go into the light.
JACK: Oh, right.
Oh, that's quite sad that.
IAN: Yeah, very sad.
So there was one final thing
we had to do, really.
That was to go back
once again, Jack, to your room.
Because we needed to know, actually,
did something happen in this room?
There was an EVP that Barri has
heard upon reviewing that audio.
(JAYNE LAUGHS)
We did not hear this at the time.
But this is absolutely incredible.
So this is NOT a response
that's coming through digitally,
or electronically
through the speaker.
This is a response
that we captured in the ether.
JACK: OK.
"Whatevermurdered here."
(OVERLAPPING SPEECH, CLICK)
"Whatevermurdered here."
(OVERLAPPING SPEECH, CLICK)
It's actually twice, and it's an EVP,
and it says "murder."
Now, listen to this again.
"What, whatevermurdered here."
(OVERLAPPING SPEECH, CLICK)
"What, whatever murdered"
(CLICK)
As Jayne's talking
..the spirit voice
is overlaying on hers,
and it's a female voice as well,
and this could well have been Alice.
JACK: Hmm.
I know that you more or less
just wanted to know if you're safe,
didn't you?
That was ultimately
the end goal for me, yeah.
Yeah, and so that
was our final question.
JACK: Yeah.
BARRI: "Is Jack safe from harm?"
(MALE VOICE, CLANKING)
ALL ON TAPE: "Yes."
JACK: I'm glad you guys
heard that too.
JACK: 'Cause I also heard yes.
(IAN LAUGHS)
Yeah, that's a massive weight
off my chest,
because, you know, ultimately
entities are here, we know that.
I wanted to know I was safe
IAN: Mm-hm.
JACK: ..you know, I can continue
living here in peace.
IAN: Good.
Well, following all of that,
I was smudging, just to dispel
any residual negative energy,
while Ian and Barri
said prayers in your room.
So I said a prayer for Alice
..Johnnyand Robert,
to send them into the light.
So those three spirits
are now at rest,
and I'm very confident
in saying that negativity,
or that experience you had,
has now disappeared.
JACK: I think knowing we're safe is,
it's music to my ears.
IAN: Mm. You can sleep tight now,
can't you?
JACK: I can, yeah.
(THEY LAUGH)
For once in a in a long time.
Yeah.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
Thank you so much for coming down.
It's been a pleasure
to have you guys here.
Good.
JACK: Cheers, guys.
NARRATOR: It's been another
compelling investigation.
BARRI: That was a challenging case.
I know.
Yeah.
Bit of a murder mystery going on.
Interesting, guys.
(PIANO NOTES)
NARRATOR: But who knows
what the next case will bring?
(DRAMATIC NOTES)
Captioned by AI-Media
ai-media.tv
I want you to go.
Help me. Help me, please.
NARRATOR: Across the UK
Woah.
I heard that.
Did you hear that?
Oh, my God!
..terrified homeowners are
being plagued by the paranormal.
(WHISPERING VOICE)
I can see you!
I am scared to death.
(ECHOED THUD)
I need to know, am I safe?
Thankfully, there are three people
(CREEPY NOTES, KNOCKING)
Where did that come from?
BARRI: What was that?
I've got goosebumps.
(FAINT VOICE)
No. I'm not gonna get out.
Oh, my God! Ian, don't leave me.
..who will stop at nothing
(KNOCKING)
(BARRI GASPS)
Someone's behind me.
Who's here with us?
(BARRI SCREAMS)
What the hell was that?
NARRATOR: ..to return our homes
Can you just take the emotion
away from Jayne, please?
BARRI: Two spirit forms.
You're scaring me.
Right next to you.
NARRATOR:
..back to the land of the living.
(FAINT BUZZ, SCREAMING)
This is like a horror movie,
isn't it?
(SCREAMING, RUMBLING, FLICKERING)
(PIERCING TONES)
BARRI: Well, the case notes
for this oneare really good.
They're interesting and I'm excited.
Yeah. I am as well.
It's got lots ofdifferent
elements, I think, this one.
Mh-hm.
(TENSE TONES)
(CREAKING)
NARRATOR: In this investigation
What
Shit!
BARRI: Something literally
fell just behind you.
NARRATOR: ..an employee
living in a hotel of horrors.
All I felt was this pressure.
It was petrifying.
(ECHOED GASPING)
And a manager dealing
with some nightmare guests.
(SHARP BREATH)
That's breathing.
Oh, my God.
Ho, ho, ho!
BARRI: Oh, my God.
NARRATOR: It's a curious case
for the team.
(FEMALE VOICE)
"It happened here."
"It happened here."
Thank you, Alice.
As they uncover a disturbing secret.
(CREAKING)
Do you know anything about
the murder that took place here?
(FAINT VOICE)
(BARRI AND JAYNE GASP)
I just heard that.
I heard it as well.
Whoa, it said yes.
(TINGLING, CREEPY TONES)
So guys, I had this really strange
visitation last night by this lady,
and she floated into my room.
She was wearing, like a blue dress.
Oh, my God.
Do you think that she has anything
to do with the case then, Ian?
I don't know. It would be
interesting though, wouldn't it?
If I walk into the location
and I'm greeted by this lady.
Wow.
NARRATOR: Although Barri and Jayne
have seen case notes,
medium Ian relies solely
on his psychic senses.
It feels very active.
I'm getting a feeling
that it could be two properties,
or it's been converted.
'Cause I'm just getting
a split of energy.
You MIGHT be right.
Oh
We shall see.
(BANG, ECHO)
Our experts have been called in
to investigate this 1830's hotel,
called The Prince Llewelyn.
Located in the pretty Welsh village
of Beddgelert.
(BANG, BUZZING)
It's run by manager Haylee,
and home to supervisor, Jack.
I live on the top floor.
But I can't lie,
it gets quite eerie here on my own,
'cause I've experienced
some unexplainable things.
I need to know, am I safe?
The activity has ramped up,
in my opinion,
since we've been having
renovation work done.
From bangs, to whistling,
to footsteps, to feelings,
to seeing shadows
out the corner of your eye.
(TELEPHONE RINGS)
I've had the telephone phone.
We've answered it, and we just had a
really loud screeching come through.
(SCREAMING)
I do get quite terrified.
(HEAVY BREATHING)
A lot of the guys that work here
started to report strange sightings,
occurrences.
(CREAKING)
One of the most notable was
..a wine glass
just flying off the shelf,
smashing on the floor.
(SMASH)
It was around this time
that we started to get the sense
that whatever energies
or entities were here
might not be of,
you know, a good nature.
One of the main things
that happened to me
I was asleep, and then all I felt
was this pressure
coming down on my hand,
almost like another hand
pushing mine into the bed.
I didn't know what this was.
I didn't wanna open my eyes
to kind of find out.
It's one thing seeing something,
or hearing something,
but physically feeling it touch you?
Um, it was petrifying.
I've called in the team
just to have a look,
and get some answers for us.
Some of our staff members are
uncomfortable being on their own.
A few of them have refused,
not to work at night time any more.
For me as well,
my job is on the line.
It's a case of, I had to ask myself,
"If things do get worse,
what does that mean for me?
"Do I stay? Or does it get to
a point where I need to leave?"
Seriously
(THUD)
Ooh, what was that?
(BACKGROUND HEAVY BREATHING)
Stop.
Shut up.
That is like, quite common,
to be honest.
(PIERCING TONE)
BARRI: Well
Ian, guess what?
What?
We're here.
Is it a hotel or a pub?
It's a hotel.
Oh, that's maybe the confusion
I'm getting then, about the, the
..multiple use of the building,
or something.
Right.
(RAIN SPLATTERS)
NARRATOR: While Barri and Jayne
head off to research further
into the case
BARRI: See you later.
See you later, mate.
NARRATOR: ..Ian's about to see
who's NOT checked out of this hotel.
Hello?
(DOOR CREAKS)
Hello?
Well, there's always something
spooky about hotels.
I absolutely hate them.
They feel soactive.
But I am drawn
..up the stairs.
There's something pulling me there.
Hello?
(SOFT NOTES)
(IAN SIGHS)
(WHISPERING) There's corridors
all over the place.
(CREAKING)
It's really strange though,
because I do feel this would've been
more than one property at one point,
and I think that's the clashes
of energy.
So some feels OK,
but some of them doesn't.
(THUDS, TENSE TONES)
JAYNE: 'Beddgelert dates back
to the 13th century.
'So I'm hoping historian
Jimmy Johnson
'can help paint a picture
of its past.'
Now, this is a beautiful
part of Wales, isn't it?
But has anything ever happened
here in the village
that COULD explain some of the
activity they're experiencing?
We do have some strange,
mysterious and tragic deaths
in the 19th century.
Er, we have the death of an ostler,
I think his name was Robert,
who effectively looked after
the horses in the hotel.
He's actually found dead
at the reins of his carriage,
having driven down the valley
from Ffridd Ddu,
into the village of Beddgelert.
The hotel keeper
and the tavern keepers
were alerted by the sound
of horses' hooves.
They came out and found,
found him dead, sat on the wagon.
(ECHOED RATTLING, TENSE TONES)
That's like a scene
from a horror film, isn't it?
Because to see a coach and horses
coming down through the village,
with a dead driver at the reins.
It's very, very bizarre.
(FAINT FOOTSTEPS, WATER LAPPING)
IAN: So I can hear the water.
See, that's actually
an energy field.
As you can see,
that water is flowing really fast,
and that's charging this property.
But the lady who visited me
spiritually last night
..the lady in blue
Why do I feelshe's here with me?
What's she looking for?
Because I'm drawn to the window,
I feel I need to look out.
(DRAMATIC TONES)
BARRI: 'With so many terrifying
reports from staff members,
'hotel owner Craig
needs a resolution.'
Hey, Craig
Alright, Barri? Good to see you.
Thank you for meeting me out here.
This iscrazy.
So what paranormal activity
has been experienced by yourself
and your staff?
One incident in particular, I was
having a conversation about ghosts
with one of our younger
staff members,
who was just curious
about the building
Then just as I said that,
there was pots and pans
in the kitchen
that started rattling.
(RATTLING)
There was one interesting photograph
that was taken, wasn't there?
It appears to show
a woman at the window.
That's correct, yeah. We were taking
external photos of the buildings
to promote on websites, etc,
and we noticed something strange
in one of the windows,
er, on the first floor.
And when you zoomed
into that picture,
it very clearly looks like a lady
standing at the, the window.
I've seen it.
It looks like a lady
with light-coloured hair,
like blonde-coloured hair,
and a blue outfit of some kind.
It does, yeah.
It looks like she's wearing
a pocket watch, almost like a nurse.
(CAMERA CLICKS)
(HEAVY BREATH)
You can certainly feel
the energy really changing now,
and it feels really heavy.
(HEAVY BREATHING, FAINT WHISPERS)
And downstairs, it felt OK.
But upstairs
..I feel quite nervous,
if I'm honest with you.
Craig, you've got
a member of staff there, Jack.
Yeah.
Who actually lives in the building.
Yeah. He lives on the top floor
within the building itself,
and first of all said that he'd
heard strange noises in the night,
particularly from his room.
And there was one experience
where he felt pressure on his hand,
almost forcing his hand down.
(WATER LAPPING)
Now, you would kind of expect
at an old building such as
the Prince Llewelyn to have
Yeah.
..an element of residual energy.
Even ghosts.
Yeah.
But actively aware spirits
that are able to physically
interact with people.
Yeah.
That's a whole nother level.
Yes.
(TENSE TONES, RATTLING)
(EXHALING SHARPLY) I really feel
uncomfortable in here.
You can clearly see this isn't
rented out to the public.
Somebody must live in here.
I'm gonna sit down here.
I can't take my eyes off the bed,
for some reason.
If I look down
and tune into my senses,
I can see somebody laid on the bed.
But I feel
that somebody's pressing down.
It's almost like
I've been pinned to the bed.
I would be scared if I stayed here.
(CREAKING)
JAYNE:
The hotel is almost 200 years old,
so there could be
plenty of spirits there.
'But to give us some leads,
'I'm researching
its former residents.'
I've started
looking into the census,
because I know that the guys
are seeing a woman in a window,
and that to me
is really significant.
So I'm looking at the census here,
and in 1881,
we have the Jones family there.
Now, Roland Jones is living there
with his wife, Margaret.
They were there with their children.
They lived there
for quite some time.
An added layer of mystery
to this case for us though,
is that we know it actually
used to be three separate dwellings,
so we may not be dealing with
the spirits of the hotel at all.
We might actually
be dealing with people
who lived in those dwellings
many years ago,
whose names are lost in time.
Who knows?
IAN: 'So much of this hotel
is under renovation,
'including this TV room
on the ground floor.'
(EXHALES SHARPLY)
You can feel the atmosphere change.
As soon as you walk in here,
it grabs your gut.
(IAN INHALES SHARPLY)
But I'm getting pulled
to the corner of the room.
There's a gentleman
stood there, looking at me
..and he's got this
strange-looking hat.
I don't wanna say
it's a tricorn hat,
but it looks very strange.
And he may have been a coachman,
or somebody just passing through,
but I do feel his presence
is really strong here.
(DOOR CREAKS)
Wow, this is bright.
(IAN EXHALES SHARPLY)
This is really, really interesting.
Because there's a lot
of utensils in here,
that spirit could try
and draw attention to themselves.
I bet they've touched things
in here before.
BARRI: After chatting with Craig,
I'm interested to see
what Ian's picked up.
This place is so active, mate.
It's unbelievable.
I met up
with one of the owners, Craig.
There's a photograph, has been taken
from the outside of this building,
and it appears to show a lady wearing
a bluish dress with blonde hair,
stood staring back out of the window.
My dream. A lady in blue.
I wonder if there's any connection.
Could be.
Yeah. But the only place
I've not visited is the bar area.
(FAINT RATTLING, TINGLING)
Hey? Wow, interesting place this,
isn't it?
It is, isn't it?
Yeah.
(BUZZ, FAINT TINGLING)
What?
There's a man behind me.
Now.
I feel there's just something here.
Or somebody. There's just,
er, energy to my right.
Well, we need to get started,
don't we?
Yeah, yeah.
Ah, here's Jayne.
Hi. You alright?
Hi, Jayne. Hi, how are you?
This is Haylee and Jack.
Hi, Haylee. Hi, Jack.
Nice to meet you.
JACK: Nice to meet you.
(CROSSTALK)
(WHISPERING) Yeah, but there's
a little boy in there as well.
Two spirits?
A boy.
Yeah.
Behind the bar.
Woah.
BARRI: 'As Ian's already
sensing a boy and a man here,
'we're going to start
our spirit trigger session
'by recording for EVPs.'
Can you please speak with us
and tell us your name?
(SOFT CLICK, GENTLE THUD)
Did you hear that?
JAYNE AND JACK: I heard that.
(CROSSTALK)
Where did that come from?
I don't know.
I heard it most on this side.
Did you live in this building?
(SOFT THUD)
Haylee, what did you just hear?
Like a, like a bang.
Like a reallythud.
I could hear that.
But very light,
like that area there.
And then after that, there was
a little voice in that corner again.
End recording.
And I said "little voice",
so I'm wondering if the little boy
has come in here.
But I think there was a voice,
a response.
I heard something
after your first question.
Let's play this back.
(CLICK, STATIC, FAINT SPEECH)
"I see you."
I SEE you!
Yes.
JAYNE: "I see you."
Ooh!
(HAYLEE LAUGHS)
JAYNE: It says, "I see you."
Doesn't it?
That's incredible.
So the spirits here
are obviously open to talking to us.
That's straight away.
That's literally the first question.
What, what else
have you guys experienced?
When we've been on shift together,
haven't we?
Um, and our phone as well,
it just rang like normal.
And you went to go
and pick it up, didn't you?
That was the weirdest thing.
As soon as he picked it up,
it just did a massive screech,
didn't it? Really loud.
Something about it just seemed off
from the get-go
Yeah.
..as soon as the phone rang.
I'd like to capitalise on this idea
that spirits are able to manipulate
the telephone line.
I wanna take my phone
and place it in your room, Jack.
'Cause I think that could be
the most active area.
For sure. I like the sound of that.
BARRI:
'Jayne's going to call my phone.
'We'll ask questions from the bar.'
JAYNE: "Baz, can you hear me?"
I can hear you.
'And the voice recorder will pick up
any responses in Jack's room.'
So I'll start,
and then maybe Jack,
you're gonna call out after me, OK?
Spirits.
My name is Barri.
(SOFT NOTES)
Please can you leave your voice
..on the recorder?
Spirits, are you a negative energy?
Do you mean Jack any harm?
(FAINT WHISPER)
What?
Oh! My God!
(KAYLEE LAUGHS)
Oh, my
(LAUGHING) Sorry!
There's no-one in that room?
Oh, my God.
That just gave me a fright.
Do you mean Jack any harm?
If you can hear us,
make a sign.
(SOFT THUD)
(SOFT THUD)
(WHISPERING)
There was a knock. In the room.
Footsteps.
Who is that?
JACK:
There's no-one upstairs, right?
Just
Absolutely nobody up there.
'I go and retrieve the recorder,
so we can analyse those responses.'
(HEAVY BREATHING)
That's breathing.
Oh, my God!
(KAYLEE LAUGHS)
Oh, my God.
JACK: Oh, that's
Was that just a breath,
or a (RASPING) "Yeah"?
I couldn't tell.
(CROSSTALK)
Ah, I've got goosebumps.
JACK: Could've been a "yeah."
It was like a breathy
JAYNE: That was an ominous sound
Behave!
(FAINT, RASPING VOICE)
Oh.
That's a "Yeah."
It's like it's going "Yes."
JACK: "Are you a negative energy?"
Oh, fuck.
(HEAVY BREATHING)
Oh, my God.
Oh!
JACK: It's unquestionable.
So we could only hear that once.
We only heard it once, you're right.
Yeah.
And then there's that
kinda clatter before that,
like there's movement before that,
and then (RASPING) "Yeah."
It's like something
was shifting around
Mm.
in your room.
JACK:
"Spirits, should I be worried?"
(SOFT THUD)
(TAPPING)
What?!
What was that?
We did not hear that at the time.
JACK: I'm not sure.
JAYNE: I'm sorry,
but there's clearly an entity,
or an energy in that room.
I think
..something needs to be done
up there.
'We need to find out
who is responsible
'for putting pressure on Jack's hand
while he was in bed.'
I mean, I know we've climbed
a lot of stairs,
but there's a heaviness
that isn't just
Yeah.
..being out of breath.
'We're going to try and make contact
using EchoVox,
'which uses banks of phonetic sounds
'to generate intelligent responses.'
Jack, you ask the question
about what happened to you.
Just get some answers.
Yeah.
What happened to me that day,
I was sleeping,
and you pushed down my hand.
(FAINT SPEECH)
JAYNE: Yeah.
Shh.
I heard that.
Woah! Did you hear that?
Did you hear that?
That was super prominent.
Where?
That was there.
Over that direction.
It just went
(HAYLEE GASPS)
You jumped.
Did you hear it?
Yeah, 'cause it was there. Yeah.
It went proper
(HAYLEE GASPS)
Oh, I've got goosepimples.
What happened to me that night,
I was sleeping,
and you pushed down on my hand.
(STACCATO SPEECH)
(MALE VOICE)
ALL: Bed!
(FAINT VOICE)
Oh
Jack!
Jack!
Oh, my God!
JAYNE: Oh, my God.
"Bed. Jack."
What did you do to me that night?
(DETACHED SPEECH)
When I was sleeping?
(FAINT VOICE)
ALL: Hand.
Oh, my God.
It said "hand felt."
(HAYLEE LAUGHS)
Yeah.
Wow.
Something "hand."
Is it just one energy here?
Or is there multiple?
(FAINT SPEECH)
Three.
Three.
There's three.
And you kept saying three.
So possibly it could be family.
Mm. Could be.
JACK: Mm.
JAYNE: 'Jack seems to be
very in tune with this spirit.
'So we're going to leave him
to call out alone.'
We'll watch from the nerve centre.
Hayley, you gonna join us there?
Yeah, of course. Yeah.
Turn that on with the red button
whenever you're ready.
Awesome. Will do.
OK? Good luck.
Take care.
We'll be watching.
BARRI: Jack's got the Alice Box,
which will announce
any responses picked up.
So it's just me and you now.
There's been a lot going on.
A wine glass flew off the shelf
and smashed on the floor.
Why did you do this?
(BEEPS)
I do feel an energy.
I can'tcellar.
Definitely worth
investigating that later.
JAYNE: Yeah.
It's a spooky space.
It is a spooky, I get very
uncomfortable in that cellar.
So a few times now you've
(BEEPS)
(FEMALE VOICE)
Gun.
FAINT VOICE: "Gun."
JAYNE: Gun?
Not sure what you mean by that.
JACK: "I can definitely
feel a presence now."
If you are here,
please show yourself in some way.
"Give us a sign."
(FEMALE VOICE)
(BEEPS, FAINT SPEECH)
Malice?
JAYNE: So he senses a presence.
The next word to come out
is "Malice."
I wonder if someone
was killed in that room.
You know, he's had "Gun."
"Violence, malice."
Hmm.
Being held down as well.
Yes.
Or pinned down.
Yeah.
Pinned down, yeah.
(BEEPS)
Killed?
(FEMALE VOICE)
JACK: "What died?"
Or WHO died?
There's been quite a few
interesting direct responses
to his questions, right?
Yeah.
'We regroup in the bar
to analyse those responses.'
JACK: Phew!
JAYNE: Something happened.
You alright?
Well done.
JACK: That was intense, yeah.
That's have a look.
JACK: Sure.
JAYNE: A lot of those words
that you were getting, Jack,
were sort of, as you said,
quite rightly implying someone
had been attacked or killed
JACK: Yeah.
Something had happened
in that space.
So you had "violence."
You had "gun."
And it's interesting
"Killed" came out as well.
Killed.
JACK: "Killed"
was the most recent one, yeah.
I mean, you were physically
attacked in your bed, right?
Yeah.
But
..it was a physical attack
of "help me",
possibly grabbing you to say,
"Wake up. Listen to me."
Were they trying
to tell you something?
Is that trying to tell you something?
Yeah. I mean, based on,
you know, what we've been through,
the words it projected,
that could well be the case.
JAYNE: Well, we need to find out.
We've got quite a long night
ahead of us
I think we have. Yeah.
We do indeed.
Thank you for joining us
for this part,
and hopefully we can provide you
with some answers tomorrow.
JACK: Fingers crossed.
Thank you.
We'll see you tomorrow, guys.
(CROSSTALK)
BARRI: Darkness descends
(OMINOUS TONES, DOOR CREAKS)
'..and Haylee and Jack
'leave us alone in the hotel.'
(CREAKING)
(DRAMATIC, SYNTHESISED NOTES)
'To capture any unusual activity
during the investigation,
'I've placed cameras
across the entire property
'..which will be constantly monitored
by the team in our nerve centre.'
So guys, all the cameras
are now set up,
and I would like to focus
our attention
on some major areas
here in this building.
One is Jack's bedroom
Mm.
..that's the attic space where
lots of activity has been reported.
The second area is this bar.
We've got objects moving.
The sound of glasses,
cutlery moving,
and also some of the EVPs that were
captured during spirit triggers.
But there were two cameras
down here in the bar,
and I've moved one
to the cellar area,
and that's because there's been
reports of activity in the cellar.
Plus the word "cellar"
came out of that ITC device
earlier during spirit triggers.
But we need to go to infrared mode,
so I'm gonna let Nerve Centre know.
OK.
Barri to Nerve Centre, over.
"Go ahead."
Can we now switch to infrared mode
on all the cameras?
"Yep, copy that."
(BUZZING, STATIC NOISE)
OK.
'We make our way to the cellar.'
This is so creepy.
Yeah.
'Which is unusually
on the first floor of the building.'
Let's try some ITC, guys.
Now, I've got a new bit of kit.
That's the Ovilus 5.
So this is a word generator.
But spirits are said to be able to
manipulate the environmental readings
to give us words.
It will announce them
at the same time.
Do you wanna call out?
Mm.
Is there anybodyin this cellar,
or this floor,
who would like to try
and talk to us? Communicate?
Can you tell us why you're here?
'I'm sensing there's somebody
standing near Adrian,
'our cameraman.'
Why don't you tell us your name?
Who are we speaking with?
(FEMALE VOICE)
Johnny.
Johnny?
Here's Johnny.
Or John?
Yeah.
Mm.
Shit.
What's that?
Something moved.
Something literally fell
just behind you.
Is your name Johnny? Or John?
Do you know what?
It could be totally irrelevant,
but Roland Jones
Mm-hm.
..who lived here
with his wife and kids
Yeah.
..one of his kids was John.
Really?
What about the boy I saw in a bar?
(FAINT VOICE)
"Sadvoice."
I literally, it feels like
What was that?
Where did that come from again?
I just heard something.
Was it glass?
That sounded like a glass rattle
Yeah, there's glass here.
Can you move an object?
That's something that's been reported
down in the bar area and the kitchen.
Yeah.
Crockery, plates, glasses.
They've all been moved around and
(BARRI GASPS)
"Gun."
"Harry. Gun."
Right, OK.
FAINT VOICE: Glass.
Gun!
BARRI: And glass.
A glass! A glass has just moved.
A glass! Glass. Yeah.
(SOFT THUD)
Oh, my God.
Gun, again.
Yeah.
So that's two separate devices
Yeah.
..have both told us "gun."
Yeah.
There's definitely a murder
of some sort, isn't there?
(FAINT VOICE)
BARRI: Up.
That's the attic.
That's the attic.
Yeah.
Where Jack is.
I think we should go back up
to Jack's room.
Let's go.
Yeah.
You can feel the atmosphere change.
JAYNE: 'Ever since Jack was touched,
'he's felt scared
of his own bedroom.'
I could NOT sleep in this room.
No.
BARRI: 'I've bought a new ITC
application called Spirit Talker,
'which has magnetic, kinetic
and gravitational sensors
'that spirits can use
'to communicate.'
I'm calling out,
or asking for anybody
..here who would like to talk to us.
Who pinned Jack down to the bed?
Who touched his hand?
Did something happen to you
in this room?
(JAYNE GASPS)
(FEMALE VOICE)
Oh.
The lady in blue.
Yeah.
She will touch you.
Will touch you.
So she will touch you.
Does that mean she's gonna
touch Barri? Or one of us?
(FEMALE VOICE)
Protection.
Oh!
Oh.
Are they telling us
that they're trying to protect him
from something then?
Or someone.
Yeah.
Oh, oh, the
(IAN STAMMERS)
God, I feel really emotional.
The female is here.
There's a female here.
You know like
the old fashioned washbasin?
That's what she's got in her hand.
I don't know
whether she's mopping blood.
(CLEAR FEMALE VOICE)
No way! What?
(BARRI STIFLES LAUGHTER)
So the lady with the
(FEMALE VOICE)
IAN AND JAYNE: It happened here.
Thank you, Alice.
So "My name is Alice.
"It happened here."
She has a bowl in her hand
with a towel,
and she's cleaning blood.
Can I just explain something?
Jack took a photograph
of the Prince Llewelyn pub
Mm-hm.
..from opposite side of the road,
and in the window,
which is directly
beneath this bedroom
Mm-hm.
..was what appears to be a woman
in a blue outfit.
Yeah.
Blonde hair.
But you know what's most interesting?
It looks like she's got some
kind of pocket watch, which is here.
It's not a nurse, is it?
It's like a nurse's outfit.
Wow.
Well, that's bizarre because
..I see her with a bowl and a towel.
It does fit
with what you're picking up on, Ian.
It does.
That's pretty amazing.
(CLIPPED FEMALE VOICE)
IAN AND JAYNE: Incident.
There's been an incident.
Alice discovered
a potential incident, a murder.
Using a gun, potentially.
Yeah.
And this is why they are trying
to offer protection to Jack.
I wonder if it's Alice
who touched Jack's hand.
Could be.
Because we had "She will touch you."
Yeah.
And we had "Protection",
was the next thing that came out.
Mm.
'Alice is helping us
piece this puzzle together.
'But we still need to find out
'who the man is Ian picked up
in the TV room
'during his walk round.'
Woo.
So this is, um,
mid-renovation, isn't it?
Yeah, and this will also cause
a lot of problems, wouldn't it?
Because they're knocking
the building around.
'I'm going to run a device
which sweeps radio frequencies,
'allowing spirits to communicate
using the white noise.'
(STATIC NOISE)
So I'm calling out to the gentleman
I saw in here
(STATIC CONTINUES)
..earlier today.
I saw you wearing a hat.
Can you tell me your name?
(STATIC)
Did you know anything
about a murder?
What?
What's that? What's that?
Listen.
(FAINT STATIC)
Listen.
Listen. Turn that off.
(DISTANT TAPPING)
Hello?
Where the fuck is that?
Is that wood?
Someone's banging. No, someone's
Hello?
(FAINT CLICK)
What was your last question
when we heard this?
"Did you know anything
about a murder?"
(SCRAPING, TENSE TONES)
Do you know anything about
the murder that took place here?
Or killing?
(WHISPERING VOICE)
(JAYNE AND BARRI GASP)
I just heard that.
I heard it as well.
That said yes.
A male voice saying yes.
That was a man
who went (WHISPERS) "Yes."
JAYNE: 'Jimmy the historian
'told me about a mysterious death
associated with this hotel,
'and I'm wondering
if it could be connected.'
What's the story, Jayne? That you
So
..it's a really bizarre death,
and it's about an ostler
called Robert.
An ostler obviously was employed
to look after the horses.
Yeah.
And he was employed here
Mm-hm.
..at this hotel.
He was found directly outside
Mm-hm.
..stone dead,
holding the reins of horses
on a horse and cart.
So he was bolt upright,
as you would expect.
But he was dead.
Wow.
There was no explanation at all.
'Significantly, this area
also used to be the stables.'
Now, Ian walked into here,
the area where horses used to be,
and saw a gentleman with a hat on.
Wow.
So this could be Robert.
Let's do a quick EVP burst
and ask those questions.
Robert?
Are you the gentleman
that I saw earlier today,
with a tricorn-looking hat?
Did you have any connection
with the horses?
(SOFT TAPPING)
Definitely heard that.
I did.
Do you want to play that back and
see if we had responses to Robert?
IAN: "Did you have any connection
with the horses?"
(STATIC, SOFT SPEECH)
Bloody hell.
Woah!
That's not a whisper.
That is a voice, clear.
That's a grade A
You could hear that?
Yes, we heard it. I heard that.
'I also sensed this man
in the bar area,
'and as we're hearing bangs
from that direction,
'we move in there.'
I'm gonna run the Alice ITC Box.
We've also got a REM-POD
running on the table as well.
'The REM-POD is a device
'which will sound and light up
when something goes near it.'
You guys call outand I'll record.
OK.
Robert, can you walk towards
(BEEPS)
..my hand? Thank you.
(BEEPS)
Keep walking.
(REM-POD BEEPS)
(FEMALE VOICE)
ALL: Between.
Yep. Hang on.
It's coming.
Here.
Yeah, yeah.
And I said walk to me. Fantastic.
Well
(BEEPS)
Ooh.
(BARRI GASPS)
(FAINT VOICE)
IAN AND BARRI: Scared.
He said he was scared.
Yeah.
So maybe he is still here,
in fear of crossing over?
Yeah.
You also picked up
on a young boy spirit in here,
didn't you?
Hmm.
At the bar.
Yeah. He was behind the bar.
Yeah.
Could that be little Johnny?
It could be.
Johnny?
Johnny, we think
you're the little boy
that Ian was aware of earlier,
behind the bar.
And we think you also spoke to us
in the cellar.
If you can hear me now,
you'll see a little red light
on the table.
(REM-POD BEEPS)
(JAYNE GASPS)
Wow. Well done, Jayne.
Well done.
Johnny,
did your mummy and daddy
own the hotel?
Did they run the hotel?
We think you might beJohn Jones.
Is that correct?
(REM-POD BEEPS)
(BARRI GASPS)
Wow.
(BEEPS)
Thank you.
That's incredible.
(REM-POD BEEPS)
Is that why Johnny's here now?
He wants some help.
Yes.
We need to reunite Johnny with his
family, essentially, don't we?
Yeah.
(ECHOED GASPING)
JAYNE: 'So Robert the ostler
is scared to cross,
'and Johnny wants to be
with his family.'
'But we're still unsure
'why there is such a negative
atmosphere in the attic.'
Oh, that feeling's back as soon
as you come in here, isn't it?
'And we need to ensure
Jack is safe.'
(CREEPY TONES)
Is Alice still with us?
(SOFT VOICE)
Yes.
That's a really soft, gentle "Yes."
We really need to know
what happened in this room.
If we know what happened,
we can help everyone.
We can help you all.
(STACCATO SPEECH)
Did you turn that on?
Witness!
Were you aware of something
that happened here? Something bad?
FAINT VOICE: I dunno.
(WHISPERING)
IAN AND JAYNE: Yes.
Was that a yes?
What did you witness?
(WHISPERED VOICE)
ALL: Death.
(BARRI GASPS)
Oh, my God. That was clear.
Yeah.
(FAINT VOICE)
IAN AND JAYNE: Crime.
Crime.
Crime. Absolutely clear as crystal.
Really clear.
Yeah.
Thank you so much.
Is there somebody here
we need to be afraid of?
IAN:
'I'm not picking up a dark entity.
'Instead, I think
the oppressive atmosphere
'is residual energy
from the murder.'
Can you help us
with something, please? Alice?
We need to know if Jack is safe.
Is Jack safe from harm?
(FAINT VOICES)
Yes.
Yeah.
(FAINT SPEECH)
So we've got Robert,
Johnnyand Alice.
So
..it would make sense
to light a candle in this room.
And send the spirits to the light.
(STIRRING TONES)
'While Ian and Barri stay up here,
'I'm going to smudge
the entire property
'to banish any residual negativity.'
Move on in peace, Robert.
Thank you for helping us.
BARRI:
I've got the spirit box running,
in case there's any
further communication.
(STATIC BUZZING)
We ask you of your guidance,
love, and strength.
(BUZZING)
We ask of you to fill this
room with love and light
(STATIC BUZZ)
..and for all the souls
that are trapped to come forward
(BUZZING, FAINT VOICE)
Safe.
It said "safe."
..in light.
(BUZZING)
Good.
(SOFT, STIRRING TONES)
Please listen to my voice.
You can see the light.
I want you
to walk towards that light
..Alice, Johnny and Robert
..and you'll see a gate,
or a doorway.
I want you to walk through
that doorway,
or that gateway,
where your friends, family and loved
ones will be waiting for you,
to guide you into your next life.
Amen.
Amen.
Name of the father, the son,
and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
(BIRDS CHIRP, SOFT TONES)
BARRI: 'The next morning,
'we collate all our evidence,
'in the hope it will put
Haylee and Jacks' minds at rest.'
Morning.
(CROSSTALK)
How's it going?
You alright?
Yeah. Good, thank you.
We had a very interesting evening
in your hotel.
We approached the investigation
quite strategically,
and you might remember
during spirit triggers,
one of the last words you had
was "cellar."
It was, yeah.
Mm. I remember that.
And so once you left us,
we decided to head there first.
We used an instrumental
trans-communication device,
called the Ovilus 5.
It generates words on screen,
and also announces them as well.
IAN:
"Why don't you tell us your name?
"Who are we speaking with?"
(FAINT VOICE)
ALL: Johnny.
As clear as day, wasn't it? Yeah.
Johnny.
Mm.
Solooking through
the census records for this place,
we knew that in the 1881 census
there was a Jones family here.
In fact, Roland Jones
had grown up here.
The family
were on the previous census.
But in 1881,
he had a little boy called John.
Woah.
John Jones.
Crazy.
That's mad.
JACK: That's insane.
So we know
IAN: Yeah.
..that a John,
who clearly answers
to the name Johnny
..lived here.
JACK: Pieces of the puzzle
Yeah.
..adding up now, aren't they?
IAN: So he's the little boy who was
stood behind a bar as well.
IAN: "What about the boy
I saw in a bar?
"Was that John?"
JAYNE: "Sad. Voice."
BARRI: "Oh, my God. Said"
JAYNE: "Aww."
JACK: It was clear as day.
IAN: Yeah.
Yeah.
I think we can determine
that the movement of objects,
glasses, plates,
all of those things,
was probably little Johnny,
just being mischievous
and having fun as a playful spirit.
Kids will do what kids do, right?
Yeah.
(IAN AND KAYLEE LAUGH)
Now, following on from that,
we decided to head up
to your bedroom,
which is in the attic.
And this time
we used a different application,
and we connected very strongly
with a particular spirit here.
You're gonna like this.
Mm-hm.
This is absolutely incredible.
So this new ITC application
gives you a word or response,
and in this case, phrases.
Listen to this.
(FEMALE VOICE)
IAN: "Oh."
JAYNE: "The lady."
JACK: There we go.
IAN: Yeah.
She was like clarifying it.
(CROSSTALK ON TAPE)
Now, instantly we thought about
your experience in there
Mm.
..and the lady that's been seen
in the window.
Yeah.
Are they connected?
Is she connected to your experience?
Mm.
There are a few more responses.
IAN: "We got"
(CLEAR FEMALE VOICE)
BARRI: "No way! What?"
Oh, my
(KAYLEE LAUGHS)
JACK: Alice?
IAN: It blew our mind
JAYNE: Yeah.
IAN: ..with that.
I'm speechless.
I don't even know what to say.
(KAYLEE LAUGHS)
IAN: So were we. So were we.
But can I just say something?
At this point,
you were aware, weren't you, Ian,
of a woman in the room?
And you were talking to us
about her, and how she looked.
I realised
Alice is the lady in blue.
She was a nurse.
She had a bowl in her hand
with a towel draped over,
and the liquid was blood.
Now, as Ian was talking about this,
we got another amazing response.
IAN: "Hello, Alice.
"So the lady with the bowl"
(CLEAR FEMALE VOICE)
IAN AND JAYNE: "It happened here."
Something's obviously
happened in his room.
Yeah. Most definitely.
Yeah.
Something bad.
Yeah.
And Alice, I'm guessing,
by the sounds of it,
was looking after them, right?
Yeah.
IAN: Yeah. Yeah.
Well, we were so pleased
to be able to
..almost validate everything
that we thought might be happening.
But we wanted to come downstairs,
and go into your TV room,
because during Ian's walk round,
he'd sensed someone in there.
To the far left,
I saw a gentleman
..with what appeared to be like
a scruffy, squashed tricorn hat.
So knowing
that particular part of the hotel,
at some point in its history,
had been where horses were kept,
maybe a stable area,
and also, of course, knowing the
story of a former employer here.
So Robert Evans, he was an ostler.
He was employed
to look after the horses.
He died in mysterious circumstances
in 1877.
He was found outside, actually.
Sitting at the reins
of a horse and carriage.
Stone dead.
Oh, wow.
Wow.
And the fact that Ian
was picking up on a man
in the area Robert would've worked,
we had to explore that possibility.
And so we asked the question.
IAN: "Did you have any connection
with the horses?"
(FAINT MALE VOICE)
JAYNE: "Woah."
That was definitely a yes.
(KAYLEE LAUGHS)
IAN: So clear, isn't it?
It's quite scarily clear.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Now, I mean, that's an example
of a very clear, disembodied voice.
And I don't think you get much more
of a definitive response than that.
So we asked the question,
"Robert, why are you here?"
Why won't you cross over
into the light?
This was the response.
(BARRI GASPS ON TAPE)
(FLAT VOICE)
IAN AND BARRI: "Scared."
He was scared to go into the light.
JACK: Oh, right.
Oh, that's quite sad that.
IAN: Yeah, very sad.
So there was one final thing
we had to do, really.
That was to go back
once again, Jack, to your room.
Because we needed to know, actually,
did something happen in this room?
There was an EVP that Barri has
heard upon reviewing that audio.
(JAYNE LAUGHS)
We did not hear this at the time.
But this is absolutely incredible.
So this is NOT a response
that's coming through digitally,
or electronically
through the speaker.
This is a response
that we captured in the ether.
JACK: OK.
"Whatevermurdered here."
(OVERLAPPING SPEECH, CLICK)
"Whatevermurdered here."
(OVERLAPPING SPEECH, CLICK)
It's actually twice, and it's an EVP,
and it says "murder."
Now, listen to this again.
"What, whatevermurdered here."
(OVERLAPPING SPEECH, CLICK)
"What, whatever murdered"
(CLICK)
As Jayne's talking
..the spirit voice
is overlaying on hers,
and it's a female voice as well,
and this could well have been Alice.
JACK: Hmm.
I know that you more or less
just wanted to know if you're safe,
didn't you?
That was ultimately
the end goal for me, yeah.
Yeah, and so that
was our final question.
JACK: Yeah.
BARRI: "Is Jack safe from harm?"
(MALE VOICE, CLANKING)
ALL ON TAPE: "Yes."
JACK: I'm glad you guys
heard that too.
JACK: 'Cause I also heard yes.
(IAN LAUGHS)
Yeah, that's a massive weight
off my chest,
because, you know, ultimately
entities are here, we know that.
I wanted to know I was safe
IAN: Mm-hm.
JACK: ..you know, I can continue
living here in peace.
IAN: Good.
Well, following all of that,
I was smudging, just to dispel
any residual negative energy,
while Ian and Barri
said prayers in your room.
So I said a prayer for Alice
..Johnnyand Robert,
to send them into the light.
So those three spirits
are now at rest,
and I'm very confident
in saying that negativity,
or that experience you had,
has now disappeared.
JACK: I think knowing we're safe is,
it's music to my ears.
IAN: Mm. You can sleep tight now,
can't you?
JACK: I can, yeah.
(THEY LAUGH)
For once in a in a long time.
Yeah.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
Thank you so much for coming down.
It's been a pleasure
to have you guys here.
Good.
JACK: Cheers, guys.
NARRATOR: It's been another
compelling investigation.
BARRI: That was a challenging case.
I know.
Yeah.
Bit of a murder mystery going on.
Interesting, guys.
(PIANO NOTES)
NARRATOR: But who knows
what the next case will bring?
(DRAMATIC NOTES)
