to really build anticipation.

enter into the bond of holy matrimony,
I would like to share a few thoughts
on the subject of love.
And marriage.

It's an institute you can't disparage.
[all chuckling]
Though many have tried
to disparage marriage.

We have served multiple tours together.
We have built a thriving business.

I prepared a speech
that could take us all the way
to Mel and Jack's first anniversary.
- [audience members chuckling]

I'm going to go short and sweet,
so we can get to the cake.

preaching about marriage

I'm going to tell you what I've learned
from my best friend, Jack.
That's courage.
I can't think of
a better demonstration of courage
than being the woman
who has fallen in love with Jack Sheridan.

Mel, I commend
your courage in withstanding the
the scrutiny of an adoring,
yet protective community,
life-threatening wildfires,
not to mention
some very complicated ex-girlfriends.

well, it's an act of courage.
But a greater act of courage
