Where we are now, Baffins, is on
the other side of Portsmouth Town,
as it was
in the old days.
This whole estate
went up in about the 1930s.
Before this, the pond was here,
and then lots and lots
of empty, desolate fields.
Presumably, then, there was
never really anything notable
that happened here
in history.
Because normally you would expect
crimes and things
that we're normally interested in
to happen down there
in the mean streets.
Well, that's the thing.
Because it was so far away
from everywhere,
because it was so desolate,
you had all sorts of stuff.
There's a story of a guy called

was a guy from Teignmouth.

She died within a few months

he married someone else,
and that marriage lasted
for about five or six years.
