As a consequence the fluids gravitate towards the head and tissue putrefies at a greater rate which can make visual identification more difficult.
Who found the body? A bunch of teenagers broke into the reservoir to go skinny-dipping.
Alcohol, drugs in the system? No evidence of that in the tox report, no.

The fingers look to have been crushed rather than cleanly cut.
There's crush fractures and crushing abrasions with underlying bruising.

The bruising isn't particularly well-developed which says to me that the injuries occurred close to time of death.

What, so someone carved him up before the drowning happened? Or, maybe it happened when he was in the water? The interesting thing is the symmetry.
Are they razor cuts? Possibly self-harm, they could have been self-inflicted.
Yeah, but there's evidence of injury to the wrists, suggesting that he was bound.

The cuts are organised, they're the same length, they're on parts of the body that can be covered.
It could suggest paraphilia.

We asked the medical school for copies of his work for comparison.
The exemplars suggest that the overall form is consistent so size, shape, slant of the letters, the proportion, the beginnings and endings of the letters.
The formation of the 'S' is unusual and consistent across the exemplars.
And the bow of the 'R' and the 'P' are a match.
We also have fingerprint matches on the letter and on the envelope but the saliva on the envelope isn't his.
So, not only did he not send the letter, he didn't seal it either? No.
There's also something odd about the text.
He's spelt the name of his college incorrectly and the name of his brother, Jakob; he's spelt it with a 'c' instead of with a 'k'.
But the guy was under duress, he was having his chest sliced open.
It wouldn't make any difference.
The spelling of family names is overlearned it's an automatic action.
It's highly unlikely it would be incorrect.
There are six spelling mistakes in total.
In every other piece of writing we have by Karl he made zero mistakes.
And it was these mistakes which led me to go in a different direction one that examined his intention and his state of mind.
So is the letter written by him or is it not written by him? Look at this.
