" I'm Carson daly.
Tonight we're gonna give you one more look at this season's talented artists so you can pick your favorites as we head into next week's live playoffs.
I'm just so excited about my team.
I feel like they're all talented, and I feel like I could be the first female to win this.
I love coaching on "the voice," and I think I've got the best team I've ever had, so I'm trying to set them up for success.
I'm really excited about my team.
I love being on "the voice" 'cause I feel like the generosity and opportunity is just unmatched.
This year I wasn't looking just for great singers, but also great storytellers.
Just wait till you see them in the live playoffs.
Yes! Er see.
You'll get new insight into the strategies behind the artists our coaches picked to represent their teams in next week's live playoffs.
Plus exclusive, never-before-seen footage of our coaches and advisers.
You can't control your runs like that.
I'll try to keep that I've had times when I couldn't control my runs, too.
Don't we all? But I was sick.
First is last season's winning coach, pharrell Williams.
Let's take a look at his team.
This year I have a team full of really soulful artists.
Doesn't mean that they're all soul artists.
Just means that they all are, like, 100% the real thing.
I want to be like pharrell, too, man.
Yes! You know, team pharrell is full of all different types of artists.
They're not like anybody else in the world, which is why pharrell is who he is.
He's always looking for what's different.
Let's look at the journey these five artists took to reach the live playoffs.
24-year-old R&B singer mark hood took an unusual path to "the voice" stage.
My mom drops a bomb on me.
"You're going to Chicago high school for agricultural sciences, which is on a 100-acre farm.
" I'm scared of dogs.
Mark's high-energy performance of a classic R&B song got the attention of all four coaches.
You high-fived the stage.
What kind of music do you want to sing? John legend meets pharrell, almost.
I pick pharrell! Oh, man! Remember the day I set you free during the battles, mark made a strong impression on pharrell's award-winning adviser, missy elliott.
I just haven't heard something to move me.
And you don't hear that these days.
Or feel that.
Or feel that.
Ain't no Mountain high enough and his battle was one of the best in "voice" history.
Ain't no river wide enough that was probably one of the most masterful performances I've ever seen on the show.
That was my favorite battle that I've ever seen.
Mark hood moves on to the knockouts.
I went with mark because I think he does have what it takes to move forward, all the way to the end of the show.
During the knockouts, mark flipped out when he met key adviser superstar rihanna.
Hey, rihanna.
How you doing? Good to see you.
I'm sorry.
If you want the good light, that's the spot, right here.
Oh, in other words, "get away from me.
" Okay.
Wait.
I'm sorry.
Dude, I love you already.
There's no R&B artists that have songs out where they're doing that kind of stuff effortlessly.
Mark delivered another winning performance in the knockouts.
It felt like vocally, he just took everyone to church.
It was amazing.
Mark hood moves on to the live playoffs.
Next is 16-year-old high-school student madi Davis, who overcame a big hurdle to get to "the voice" stage.
My hearing loss has obviously been a huge obstacle in my life.
There's nothing you can't do if you try really hard.
Madi, to me, is one of the most incredible singers of the whole competition.
How old are you? I'm 16.
Oh, my God! Voices like yours really excite me.
I want what's different.
I'm just a girl! I pick pharrell.
So wrong.
Wow.
Madi soared through the battle rounds and continued to show new sides of her voice in the knockouts, performing "a case of you" by joni Mitchell.
I thought the song choice was great.
It made me realize how much of an artist she really is.
Adele does those effortless runs.
Yes! We want to be all eyes, tunnel vision on the emotions that you're feeling up here.
Oh, you're in my blood like holy wine you taste so bitter and so sweet she's so young, yet she has so much control over her voice.
It's kind of mind-boggling.
Madi is moving on to the live playoffs! Madi's a 16-year-old beautiful, harmonious bird.
Thank you.
Great job.
You know, you could call her folk, but I think she's a pop artist because I think that what she does will be popular.
Next is 20-year-old pop R&B artist Evan mckeel from Richmond, Virginia.
Even after turning four chairs during the blind auditions, pharrell wanted to see more.
What's your favorite Stevie wonder song to sing? "Overjoyed," for sure.
And would you do a verse and the chorus? You got it.
Maybe, too, if you would believe oh! I pick pharrell! Oh, my God.
That's crazy.
Wow! During the battles, Evan delivered an over-the-top performance and secured a victory.
Till I reach my highest ground whoa! Evan continued to impress with a blistering performance in the knockouts.
Evan came out swinging, man.
He really went hard, and he sang with his emotions and his ambitions on his sleeve.
Wow.
Great job.

Next is 19-year-old R&B pop singer and YouTube star Riley biederer.
Riley quickly won over pharrell with her performance of "invincible" by Kelly clarkson.
- So darn glad he let me try it again -Wow! During the battles, Riley impressed pharrell and adviser missy elliott.
Fierce, sassy.
-This girl's R&B tone is everything.
-Is ill.
But in the end, pharrell let Riley go Evan wins the battle round.
Making her available for a last-second steal.
Whoa! We got a steal from Gwen Stefani! I had to steal Riley because the control she has in her voice Thank you! I want to work with someone that is that talented.
In the knockouts, Riley received high praise from celebrity adviser rihanna.
I was really impressed by Riley.
She did all types of stuff to this song, but if you took all that away, she still had a voice that could stand on its own.
Oh, you can turn my lights out I didn't know that I got such an awesome person on my team! Ahh! I am just so excited that I stole Riley.
You definitely have the voice to do exactly the type of music you want to do Thank you.
Pop/r&b.
Riley laid it all on the line during her performance and returns to team pharrell.
What a position to be put in.
I mean, this is ridiculous.
The winner of this knockout is gonna be Regina.
Congratulations.
You're moving on to the live playoffs.
We've got that steal! Gwen gave me the opportunity to get Riley back, and now I'm not letting her go.
I am so happy.
It's amazing to be back on team pharrell.
It's it's It's aah! It's crazy! That worked out good.
Yo, it worked out great.
The last member on team pharrell is R&B singer Darius Scott.
The situation's out of control I tried, I tried to fight it Darius' outstanding performance during the blind auditions got three coaches to turn their chairs.
Oh, you make me wanna le-e-e-ave Darius That dude's voice is so great.
He could teach me something.

So I pick pharrell.
Pharrell's a perfect coach for me because he's a music producer, and that's exactly what I want to be An artist and a producer.
The winner of this battle is Darius.
Darius rolled through the battles on his way to the knockouts, where he continued to wow his coach and rihanna.
You say that women treat you fine on Broadway ooh! Darius has an incredible voice.
Your runs are so beautiful and smooth.
The vocal was masterful, but I want the performance to match it.
They came to watch you, you know? 'Cause I'm gonna stay right here and I won't quit till I'm a star whoo! Darius, your voice was like a baritone sax just going up and down the keys.
Yeah.
Like a sax with, like, extra notes on it.
Yeah, it's two saxes.
You're so saxy.
The winner of this knockout Is Darius.
Darius is gonna move on to the live playoffs.
Darius' voice is crazy.
Vocally, I mean, there's nothing that he can't do.
I'm lucky to have him on my team.
These are the artists representing pharrell in the live playoffs.
I'm really excited about my team.
My approach with the playoffs is just stay out of the way and keep giving them the encouragement to continue to believe in what it is that they already have.
Next, coach Blake Shelton shows us how he built his team.
This year, I wasn't looking just for great singers, but also great storytellers.
You're going.
You're going live.
You know, I have such a great mix of talent on my team, and I truly, truly believe that any one of them can win this thing.
Blake's got the strongest team, other than myself, which I hate to admit, but it's true.
Let's look at the journey Blake's artists took to make it to the live playoffs.
Ivonne acero returned to "the voice" after failing to get a button push in season 8.
I feel definitely like this time, I better get a chair.
Are you the one that worked at A fruit thing, or what is it? The cantaloupe farm.
Oh, my gosh.
I remember all of that.
I loved how creative you were making it your own.
You were so in the lyric and delivering that emotion.
I missed it the first time, but I did not miss it this time.
Whoo! Pharrell.
After losing a closely fought battle Siahna, congratulations! Blake and Gwen jumped at the chance to steal her.
There's your steal! Stop that crying.
You stop that crying right now.
I pick Blake.
Yes! I still feel like there's something about her that we still haven't discovered yet.
And as a coach, that's gonna be my job To, you know, help her to be the best singer she can be.
She already has the best personality.
In her knockout rehearsal, ivonne's skillful performance gave key adviser rihanna goose bumps.
That you're never gonna ever take away from me have you gotten like 200% better than you were in the battle round? You are amazing.

Ivonne, congratulations.
Ivonne completely shocked me.
I mean, it doesn't matter to me what genre she's in.
I just believe in her as an artist.
And I really believe she may be the dark horse in this competition.

" Tonight we're catching you up on our biggest season yet and getting you ready for next week's incredible live playoffs.
Team Blake's next member is Emily Ann Roberts, a country artist with an old soul.
My very favorite thing about Emily Ann is that she's a 16-year-old girl who loves vintage country music.
That's pretty unique.
After winning her battle, Emily Ann continued to impress in the knockouts with help from key adviser rihanna.
I love the sound of your voice and almost that you were afraid to hit the note.
Mm-hmm.
Don't be afraid to go there.
That's what we want to hear.
I think she can be a star.
Fly this girl as high as you can into the wild blue Emily Ann is moving on, representing team Blake in the live playoffs.
Emily Ann not only could be played on the radio, I think she's gonna be played on the radio really soon.
How incredible is she? I know.
You're gonna be around for a while, kiddo.
You're gonna make me rich.
Next on team Blake is 16-year-old country artist Zach seabaugh.
I don't wanna steal your freedom I don't wanna change your mind I don't wanna make you love me I just wanna take your ti-I-I-me you look like superman, and that's not a 16-year-old's voice.
That's superman's voice.
Man, you have something in your voice that just rattled the room.
Super-impressive.
I pick Blake.
Yes! In the battle rehearsals, Zach fine-tuned his sound with Blake and grammy award-winning adviser Brad paisley.
Even though you got a softer voice, you need to be able to affect it somehow to make it seem like, "hey, I'm gonna freakin' make it.
" There's an earnestness and a heart that you can put in this and make it very signature.
"I'm gonna be somebody someday you can bet your hard-earned dollar I wi-I-I-I-I-ll" Zach, I think you're, like, a phenomenon.
Zach's gonna move on and represent Blake Shelton.
Zach won his knockout, earning his spot in the live playoffs.
He's smooth.
Yeah.
You know, there's no doubt about it, if you took a poll from the other coaches, Zach is gonna be somebody that they all agree he could go on to win this show.
He's gonna be a threat.
Next is 22-year-old country singer Morgan Frazier.
Didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you cryin'? Her unique country take on a cheap trick classic surprised both Gwen and Blake.
No! No, no, no! That voice had emmylou Harris in it.
It was powerful.
I pick Blake.
Yes! In the ultimate country battle, Blake reluctantly let Morgan go Emily Ann is moving on to the knockout rounds! Making her available to steal.
Whoa! We got a steal! Yes! You know, I think the thing that makes Morgan stand out is the raw power of her voice, you know? There's really only one other artist that's current right now that I can think of, and that would be Carrie Underwood.
I like Morgan a lot.
I shouldn't have put them together.
Maybe you can drop her again in the next deal.
She's great.
In the knockouts, pharrell and rihanna both had words of wisdom for Morgan.
Do not let perfection be the veil between your window of an opportunity.
You don't need perfection.
The more you show of yourself, the more people connect to you.
Keep on dreamin', even if it breaks you encompassed the lyrics, the sentiment of that song just like, "no, I'm not going to stop.
" And you blew people away.
Coaches, let me remind you that Morgan is available to steal.
There it is! A knockout steal! Blake Shelton steals Morgan Frazier.
Because I've had this work out before.
And the last time I did that, it was a guy named Craig Wayne Boyd, and we went on and and won this thing, so Welcome home, Morgan! Go see your new coach! I got Morgan back on my team, and she's a threat to everybody in this competition because the girl will not take no for an answer.
I love that about her.

Rounding out team Blake is 35-year-old high-school teacher Barrett baber.
When I'm not making music, I teach drama and speech, and it's a great way to provide for my family, but I really need something special to take it to the next level.
His passionate blind audition performance turned all four chairs.
Whoo! Whoo! I feel like I'm watching garth Brooks in concert right now.
I will destroy for you.
I want you on my team so badly.
My gosh! Calm down.
I pick Blake.
Yes! Walking with my feet 10 feet off of beale in an ultimate four-chair-turn battle Wow.
But do I really feel the way I feel? Barrett was victorious.
Barrett is an all-American hero.
He's a schoolteacher.
He's an educator.
And he's just inspiring when he hits the stage.
In the knockouts, key adviser rihanna helped Barrett tap into his sensitive side.
Right now I feel you're being polite in your performance.
I want to see you be vulnerable.
I want to see you be engaged.
You know it's you that calls me back here, baby I believe with everything I have that this guy's born to be a superstar.
Every time he gets on that stage, he's captivating.
There's just something special about Barrett.
I'm going to live playoffs! Whoo! These are the final five artists for team Blake.
If you think my team is good right now, just wait till you see them in the live playoffs.
They all work really hard, and they all have a story to tell.

A female coach has never won "the voice.
" We're talking about Gwen Stefani here.
And she dominates in In everything she does, and I know she wants to win this thing really bad.
Team Gwen! First is the youngest artist in the competition 15-year-old pop singer Braiden sunshine.
First of all, what's your name? I'm Braiden sunshine.
Oh, my gosh! Your name is sunshine! Sunshine! Braiden is a great singer.
Definitely the kid on on team Gwen that scares me the most.
In the battle rehearsals, Gwen and adviser Selena Gomez worked with Braiden on his stage presence.
I just sort of want to sing to you.
Like, it's really awkward, but just pretend that nobody's looking.
I could tell that Braiden was still a little nervous.
He just has to allow himself to really go for it now and not be in his head about it.
There's so much more than just singing a song.
It's commanding the presence of the stage.
Before Braiden's knockout performance, Gwen and pop superstar rihanna gave him a makeover.
We were talking about slicking your hair back! With, like, a part to the side.
I tried last time, and he said that his friend wouldn't speak to him if he put his hair back.
Well, your friend would when you're making money, honey.
Oh! Braiden won a close knockout against Ellie Lawrence.
Oh, my God! What is happening?! When Braiden came to the knockouts and he had the suit on and he had taken the glasses off, slicked his hair back, he became a character.
He blew everybody away.
Unbelievable.
51-year-old radio diva Regina love began her journey on team Adam.
Let's call this song exactly what it is it's unbelievable that a voice like that can come out of a human being.
I was floored by it.
It was shocking.
You are shocking.
It would be a crime if this voice wasn't on the show.
You have an incredible talent.

Yes! Get down here.
Why are you looking all down the wrong roads? Whoa! When Regina lost a close battle, Gwen seized her opportunity.

In the knockouts, Regina proved that it's never too late to follow your dreams.

Gwen's next artist is quirky college student korin bukowski, who put school on hold to audition for "the voice.
" I'm currently on the pre-med track.
I would kick myself if I didn't pursue this.
What life looks like from up above you're cool.
No, I'm not cool in any sense whatsoever.
I really liked your tone.
I thought it was really unique and interesting and weird.
No! Ooh! During the battle rehearsals, korin brought Gwen out of her seat.
Okay, I have to go.
I can't even I can't even handle that right now, like My whole body.
Seriously, double rainbow shivers up my leg.
After winning her battle, korin once again stood out with a strong performance.
I feel like korin is totally underestimated.
She's not typical, and that makes her really special.
It's gonna be fun to get to know her and to let her embrace her inner weirdness even more.
Next on team Gwen is 24-year-old pop artist jeffery Austin.
Before the blinds, I was working at a p.
R.
Agency in New York.
But sitting at a desk job felt completely wrong.
I'm always in the back of my mind wondering, you know, "what if?" This is my first performance in like six years.
You have so much in that voice of yours.
It's pretty amazing.
Thank you so much.
The three of us sat here like idiots and didn't hit our button, and I think we may all be regretting that later on this season.
Jeffery won his battle, advancing him to the knockouts, where he received personalized vocal coaching from key adviser rihanna.
Especially in the hook.
Keep it round.
That is the sweet spot of your voice.
Jeffery's tone is very much in the family of a Luther vandross and Sam Smith.
He will make people melt with his voice.
You're the guy to watch out for, where Gwen, being the only person that turned around for you, is gonna have quite a story to tell, I think, about what I think your potential is.
Jeffery's gonna move on to the live playoffs, representing team Gwen.
Jeffery's grown so much through the battles and through the knockouts.
His vocal ability is Is staggering.
And I'm just so proud and excited to see what he's gonna do next.

" Next is the final member of team Gwen 31-year-old Hungarian pop singer Viktor király, who started on Adam's team.
I was born in New York, but when I was 16 years old, the whole family packed their bags, and we moved to Budapest, Hungary.
I am totally grateful for what I've achieved in Hungary.
Now, here's the thing.
I want to find my way back home.
All four coaches quickly took notice During his blind audition performance of Marvin gaye's "what's going on?" I'm the only girl up here, so that means I have double powers, okay? Just letting you know that, okay? Just really just wanted to let you know that.

Viktor was incredible.
I want to have somebody that's gonna take this the distance.
I'm gonna pick Adam.
After winning his battle, Viktor laid it all on the line in his knockout.
You are so amazingly talented.
To be able to go and hit those high notes that were totally unexpected, that was like, "whoa!" Like, amazing.

We got a steal! Gwen Stefani! I'm so excited to have Viktor on my team.
To get to know somebody from Hungary that's had success there, and now to see what we can do together.

Next is coach Adam levine's team.
Team I'm taking to the live playoffs is the best team.
Team Adam is fierce.
Team Adam is unbeatable.
Whoo! You know, Adam's got a lot of four-chair turns, a lot of people that we were all blown away by.
Let's look at the journey Adam's five artists took to the live playoffs.
Like a bird through the night first on team Adam, 21-year-old college student Jordan Smith, who turned four chairs with one of the most shocking performances in "voice" history.
What?! I don't know if I'm happy or really scared! The song that you had chosen is probably one of the most challenging vocals for anybody to sing, let alone a male vocalist.
That was really amazing.

I appreciate that a lot.
Jordan, do you mind sharing your story? Um, sure.
Yeah, so, I had to learn that being different is actually what made me special.
Yeah.
And so this, for me, is just an amazing opportunity to share that it's okay to be different and it's okay to be yourself, because you're made that way, and that's how God intended for you to be.
I think you're the most important person that's ever been on this show.
Jordan gave one of the best performances I have ever seen in a live situation ever on this show or anywhere.

'Cause I set fire to the rain during the knockout rehearsal, Jordan left key adviser rihanna stunned.
I can't stand this guy.
I don't like you no more.

You're gonna hurt my feelings.
No, you hurt mine.
'Cause I set fire to the rain and I threw us into the flame every moment is a breakout moment for Jordan, and he just keeps getting better.
And Jordan will definitely continue to surprise everybody.
Yay! Adam's next artist is 33-year-old family man and Irish rocker Keith semple.
I want to be the good father by day and rock star by night.
His incredible blind audition performance got the attention of both Adam and Gwen.
I don't have any Irish in me.
I do! I think you got a really powerful voice.
I think you belong on my team.
In the battle rehearsals, Keith made an impression on rock 'n' roll legend John fogerty.
I mean, I was just in the moment there with the great rockin' music.
I mean, that's what I live for.
I think that's why we're all here, really.
Hell yeah.
When the day comes, you got to just give it hell and go out there and have more energy than anyone's gonna have that day.
Keith, you need to make a record.
You are such a natural star.
During the knockouts, Keith proved he deserved to move on to the live playoffs.
Keith's my rocker.
I love that dude.
I'm happy he's still around.
Rock and roll.
And tell me, did Venus blow your mind? Adam's next artist started on team Blake No! Former athlete and pop rocker Blaine Mitchell.
We already have such a cool connection.
Is this "the dating game" or "the voice," man? During the battles, Blaine lost a close fight That is a steal.
But Adam took notice.
The revelatory thing for me was Blaine.
This dude's a rock 'n' roll star.
I think Blake realizes that he really messed up by letting Blaine go.
I don't think he should have, but I like that he did.
Come on home.
During the knockout rehearsals, Blaine impressed Adam and rihanna.
Yeah! Boom! I knew there was a reason I wanted you on my team! How ballsy! I love it! You act like you literally just walked off of a warped tour.
How do you know how to do that already? Hold back the river, let me look in your eyes Blaine, the moment that you just had is what every artist should aspire to experience, where everybody in the room gets to discover that there's so much more there than we ever thought.

During her blind audition, small-town country singer shelby brown shocked everyone with her coach pick.
And your song choice suggests that you are not strictly a country artist.
I pick Adam.
Oh, my God! I did not see that one coming.
I wanted shelby on my team.
She ended up going with Adam, and that shocked me.
Whoo! The potential for somebody like her is just It's out of this world.
After winning her battle, shelby received some valuable advice from key adviser rihanna and her coach, Adam.
I don't know what I'm doing.
Literally, your success has everything to do with how much you believe it can happen.
Stretch the and this road I'm o-o-o-on bam! Yes! J-just like that! By winning her knockout, shelby keeps Adam's hopes alive of winning "the voice" with a country artist.
I think you did a tremendous job.
All of us were floored, and I had goose bumps.
So as far as I'm concerned, you couldn't have crushed it any more.

My hearing loss has obviously been a huge obstacle in my life.

Madi, to me, is one of the most incredible singers of the whole competition.

Even after turning four chairs during the blind auditions, pharrell wanted to see more.

" There's an earnestness and a heart that you can put in this and make it very signature.
"I'm gonna be somebody someday you can bet your hard-earned dollar I wi-I-I-I-I-ll" Zach, I think you're, like, a phenomenon.

Zach won his knockout, earning his spot in the live playoffs.

You know, there's no doubt about it, if you took a poll from the other coaches, Zach is gonna be somebody that they all agree he could go on to win this show.

Next is 22-year-old country singer Morgan Frazier.
