Heartland (CA) s10e07 Episode Script

Riding Shotgun

1 Amy: Previously on "Heartland" Georgie: It might be nice to have some space, you know, give us a chance to miss each other a little.
Right.
Okay.
(Camera clicks) Adam, hey.
I thought you would be at the Science Centre.
And I thought you wanted space.
I didn't think that meant ditching me to hang out with him for the whole weekend.
You should get one.
- A horse? - Yeah, a horse.
What woman lives on a ranch, doesn't own her own horse? (Fishing line whips) Lou, I think you should go.
(Water sloshes) What? I came up here to be alone and I don't know why you can't respect that.
(Chain clinks) I'm sorry.
This is obviously a mistake.
Heaven's gates Are behind your eyes Oh, did you know that It's your love, it's your love It's your love that keeps me walkin' on It's your love, it's your love (Truck rumbles) (Bottles clink) You planning on checking on the cattle? Yup.
Mitch and I are headin' out as soon as he gets here.
Yeah, where is he, anyway? He wasn't at the dude ranch.
Said he had somethin' he had to do.
You know, I told Lisa to put him on a strict schedule.
Shouldn't you be keeping better tabs on him? Don't need to, Lou.
He'll be along.
Yeah, but he can't just show up whenever he wants, grandpa.
There are things I need to get done before I leave for New York tomorrow.
Come on, Lou.
He's a good hand.
You're getting plenty of bang for your buck, if that's what you're worried about.
(Sighs) I know, I'm just feeling stressed, that's all.
Ah, you don't say.
I have a lot of ducks to get lined up before I take off.
Chance one of those ducks is named Peter? Don't remind me.
I'm drawing mommy a special picture to take with her.
That's nice.
Abraham said there's lots of big apples where mommy's going.
(Chuckles) Actually, New York is called "The Big Apple.
" (Phone beeps) (Sighs) What's wrong, Georgie? Adam's busy, again.
It's like he's trying to avoid me.
But I thought he was your boyfriend? (Sighs heavily) So did I.
(Truck rumbles) (Door opens) Just who I was looking for.
Yeah, I, uh, want to talk to you too.
So, uh, you're, you're headin' out tomorrow.
Lou: Yeah, just 24 more hours 'til you can start having 50 percent more fun.
Ouch.
You know I didn't mean that, right? Lou, about the other day at the river Lou: I don't really have time for that, Mitch, and you know what, neither do you, because I have a bunch of things I need done at the dude ranch if you have time in your busy schedule.
What's that supposed to mean? None of us knew where you were this morning, okay? Grandpa was waiting for you to go to the summer pasture.
Uh, you ever hear of one of these things? (Door shuts) I told Jack I was gonna be late.
It's not like I was slacking off.
Besides, I got you a surprise.
For me? (Latch clanks) (Taxi rumbles) (Hooves clop) Found you the perfect horse.
Her name's Venus.
(Grunts) (Door shuts) - You don't like her? - No, no, no, I, I do.
You bought me a horse? Mitch, she's beautiful.
- Peter.
- Peter: Hey.
Hi.
Nice lookin' horse.
Yeah, it's just a horse.
It doesn't matter.
It doesn't mean anything.
- (Bemused chuckle) Okay.
- Katie: Daddy! Peter: Hey hey hey! Aw! (Grunts with effort) - Oh, it's so good to see you! - Georgie: So glad you're back! Mmm, good to see you too! What are you doin'? What are you doin' to get so big, huh? He bought me a horse? S10E07 Riding Shotgun And at the break of day you sank into your dream You dreamer Oh, oh, oh, oh You dreamer You dreamer (Gate clanks) Well, what do you think? Will she do? I don't know what to say.
I, uh, I should get going.
Jack's waitin' on me.
Okay.
But, uh, why, why don't you take her out while I'm gone? You know, let me know what you think, and then maybe when I get back, um (Gate clanks) maybe we can talk.
Talk? Yeah.
I think that's that's a really good idea.
Great.
(Door opens and closes) What was all that about? What was all what about? Out front with that Mitch guy.
Nothing.
I was just going over things I want done at the dude ranch while I'm gone.
Hey, Peter, you know, we should probably talk about some things at some point.
Sure.
Talk right now.
(Door shuts) - Hey, Peter.
- Hey! Whoa, look at you! Holy smokes! - Yeah.
(Sighs tiredly) - How're ya feelin'? Great, actually, except that I'm always hungry.
Amy Lou, where are those muffins you made that You, you ate the last one this morning.
Are you sure? - Lou: Uh huh.
- Amy: You're kidding me.
Lou: Hey, Peter, are you okay here for a minute? I just need to talk to Amy for a sec.
- Yeah, yeah, I got this.
- Just about pregnancy stuff.
Okay.
He bought you a horse? I know, right? It's crazy! - Where is this coming from? - Mitch and I were talking and he said he doesn't get how I can live on a ranch and not own a horse of my own.
So, what, you asked him to buy you one? No, Amy, of course not.
I I think it's sort of an apology.
What for? Mitch was being a real jerk at the river the other day.
I think this is his way of making up for it.
I don't know.
Seems like an awfully big apology.
(Gate clanks) Lou: Well, he's obviously trying to send me a message.
I mean, her name is Venus, right? The Goddess of Love.
What do you think I should do? Well, if you have time, I think that we should see if you two are a match.
I'm talking about you and the horse.
You want something else, honey? No, no, I'm just not hungry.
- Everything all right? - Georgie has boy problems.
You have ballet.
Why don't you go and get yourself ready okay, please? - Okay.
- Thanks, honey.
(Receding footsteps) Is that true? No, uh, it's nothing.
I'm guessing it's about Adam.
Yeah.
We're not really talking.
I think I kinda messed things up.
What happened? Well, I asked for space and he gave it to me and now I haven't seen him in days.
Needing space is not a bad thing.
Yeah, but now I really miss him.
I, I wish I hadn't said anything.
Maybe I'm just not good at relationships.
You were honest with him.
You told him what you needed.
That's You did the right thing, sweetheart.
There's nothing wrong with that.
You're wondering about taking relationship advice from me.
- No, no.
- Well, I don't blame you.
I tell you what I do know, is that there is no magic formula for making a relationship work.
There isn't, - but just talking helps.
- But he's avoiding me.
He doesn't ever want to come over or be around me.
Well, then you just find a way to get yourself around him.
You have to admit, it's pretty flattering, right? I mean, Mitch obviously kept thinking about our conversation.
He said I needed a horse, so he went out and did something about it.
I'm sorry.
You know, I just keep going on and on about me when I should be Oh my God! I completely forgot.
Today was your mid-term ultrasound, right?! So? Am I getting a niece or nephew? - I didn't ask.
- Why not? - 'Cause I'm not sure I want to know.
- O-kay.
Well, you might want to reconsider that, Amy, because knowing ahead of time makes planning a lot easier.
And, hey, did you look at that link I sent you - for the prenatal class? - No, not yet.
Amy! You're gonna have to do that, 'cause Margo's classes fill up really fast.
Amy: Okay, Lou, enough! (Venus snorts loudly) - Whoa, whoa, whoa! (Hard thud) - Amy: Lou! - You okay? - Yeah, I'm fine.
But I have no idea What just happened! Jack and Mitch: Yip! Yip! Mitch: (Clicks tongue) Ha! You know, I've been meanin' to clear the air about somethin' Tim said.
Tim's had a lot to say, but I assume you're talkin' about how he figures I'm using Georgie to get close to Lou? Well, I want you to know I never agreed with Tim's take on that.
I'm glad to hear you say that, Jack, because there's nothin' to it.
Georgie, she's just a good kid.
Period.
Well, I have to agree with you on that.
But? Well, I'm just gonna come out and ask ya is there somethin' goin' on between you and Lou? Now if you said to me it's none of my business, you'd be right.
Lou's an amazing woman and I I can't deny that there was something there, but it's all in the past.
It's too complicated.
Huh, ain't that the truth.
(Birds caw loudly) Mitch: What do you think that's about? I don't know.
(Clicks tongue) Get up.
Who's this? I saw Mitch drop her off.
Her name's Venus.
Yeah, Mitch thought I was looking for a horse so he dropped her off for me to check out.
That's cool.
So, are you? Am I what? - Looking for a horse? - Oh, no, I'm not.
Maybe.
I don't know.
I'm not sure.
Well, is there something wrong with her? - I tried riding her - She was just really skittish.
Well, it's not because she's in any pain.
She checks out medically.
There must be somethin' else going on with her.
I guess that's where you come in.
(Chuckles) She seems pretty calm now.
Lou: Yeah, she does, doesn't she? Amy: Well, thanks for coming, Scott.
I just wanted to rule out anything physical first.
Scott: Ah, no problem.
I was on my way to the wildlife reserve anyway.
Is one of the animals sick? No, I'm just keepin' an eye on the place for Bob.
I thought that Bob had a guy looking after things while he was away.
Well, he did, but the guy flaked off so You know, I might be able to help.
I volunteer at the wildlife reserve sometimes, you know, help feed, water the animals.
Actually, I, I might be able to have someone tag along.
Scott: Well, that sounds great.
Uh, if you're free I'll be there this afternoon.
- Can I? - It's fine by me.
Thanks, Scott.
Yeah.
Guess we'll see ya later.
See ya.
(Buttons click on phone) Mitch: Hep! Ha! (Clicks tongue) (Cows moo) Jack: Get over! Get over! (Cows moo) Hey! Is that a calf? Yeah, what's left of one, anyway.
(Flies buzz) What do you think did that? Well, I've been hearin' that coyote attacks are up in the area.
That's why I came prepared.
(Sighs) Damn it.
(Flies buzz) Hey, dad, can I get a ride?! (Hooves thud) (Clicks tongue) (Clicks tongue) (Hooves thud) How's it goin'? Good.
She seems focused and relaxed now.
Whoa.
Good girl.
I think it's time you two gave it another try.
You up for it? (Llama bleats) (Car turns off) (Keys clink) Peter: I'm impressed.
You're a really good driver.
Thanks, dad.
(Doors open) Hey! (Doors shut) Adam: Hello, Mr.
Morris.
Hey.
- Peter: Oh, Scott.
How are ya? - Peter.
- Very good.
- All right.
Thank you for comin'.
Yeah, absolutely.
They're all yours.
Let's go, guys.
(Pig snorts) This is Petunia.
A pot-bellied pig? She's adorable! Yeah, she just arrived an hour ago.
I haven't even had a chance to examine her yet.
Is she friendly? Oh yeah.
She is a family pet.
Seriously? Apparently, her former family even used that leash to take her for walks.
How can someone give up their pet? They had to move away.
They tried to look for a new home, but they ran out of time.
That's so sad.
(Pig snorts) - (Cows moo) Jack: Keep 'em comin'! - Mitch: All right! (Clicks tongue) Come on! (Calf moans) Jack: This calf's had somethin' nipping at his heels! (Cows moo) Hey, Jack! (Cows moo) Come here! (Hooves thud) (Cows moo) Yeah, this one wasn't so lucky.
Mitch: Coyotes are pretty territorial.
Jack: It actually could be wolves from the look of that.
Mitch: What's the plan? Jack: Well, there's no choice.
(Gun clicks) Get rid of 'em.
Let's go.
Okay.
I leave now.
See you soon.
(Door shuts) - Sorry, guys, I gotta go.
- What's up? I gotta make a field call.
I might be gone a while.
You guys'll be okay? We've worked here on our own before.
Well, you won't be able to reach me, so if anything comes up (Keys clink) you can use the phone in the cabin to call Cass at the clinic.
(Keys clink) (Animals mew) Pretty cool we get to work here for the afternoon on our own.
We should get to work.
You two got off to a rough start, but it looks like you're starting to build a bond.
- (Chuckles) - What's so funny? Well, it's like me and Mitch.
Talk about a rough start, but I guess now he's having second thoughts.
And what about you? I thought you wanted to be on your own for a bit.
Yeah, so did I, but now I'm not so sure.
I get it.
It's like Ty.
I told him to go and now I'm really missing him.
It gets a little bit harder every day.
Honestly, I don't know why you agreed to this whole Mongolia thing in the first place.
It's better now than later, right? This part I can handle on my own, but once the baby comes that's gonna be a whole different story.
How are you doing with that baby book I gave you? My reading's kinda fallen off.
Well pick it up again, Amy! Knowing what's going on in your own body will help you feel more confident and in control.
Yeah, maybe knowing what's going on in your own brain will help you feel more confident and in control.
Yeah, you're right.
I have my own mess to sort out.
Hey, Venus? Well, you two are fine on the ground, let's get you in the saddle.
- Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! - (Chuckles) Okay.
I read that pigs are really smart.
Yeah.
I think they're the fourth smartest animal group on the planet.
Do you think she misses her human family? Yeah.
Pot-bellies are affectionate.
They get pretty attached, and despite appearances, they're actually really clean.
Adam, look, okay The llamas are next.
We should go.
Careful or you'll get covered in spit again.
Don't remind me.
(Llamas mew) I know you've been avoiding me.
Just trying to give you some space.
I'm sorry about the whole archery thing.
It's just we had plans.
You said you wanted to go and then you bailed at the last minute.
That hurt my feelings.
Believe it or not I was actually trying not to hurt your feelings.
I know we don't like all the same things.
I'm sure if you didn't see the inside of a science centre again you'd be okay with that.
Yeah, and you just don't want to start trick riding, but isn't it okay if we do our own things and still do a lot of other stuff together? I really miss hanging out with you.
What about that Clay guy? He was just there dropping stuff off! He saw the archery and wanted to try it.
It was all about Jade anyway! He even stopped to take a stupid selfie for her.
So, are we okay? Yeah, we're fine.
So what mutually agreed upon shared activity do you feel like doing now? Do you want to go take Petunia for a walk? (Chuckles) Yeah, let's go.
This is a good spot to keep an eye out for 'em.
(Foliage rustles underfoot) I'm gonna head down to these trees and I'll call 'em from there.
You can make predator calls? I'm not bad if I do say so myself.
Well, let's see whatcha got.
(Gun clatters) Just be ready.
(Truck rumbles) (Exhales nervously) - Okay, how are you feelin'? - So far so good.
(Chuckles) (Door shuts) - Hey, Lou? - Hey.
Just headin' into town to pick up Katie soon, but uh I got a couple minutes now if you want to talk.
Now? I, I, I can't 'cause Amy needs help with this horse.
(Sighs) Okay.
Later it is.
(Whispers) I know! I panicked! (Truck door opens and closes) All right.
(Truck starts up) Let's give this a try.
(Hooves thud) (Truck rumbles) Just go easy.
(Clicks tongue) Whoa! Amy: Lou, slow down! Whoa! Whoa, whoa! Venus, stop! - Whoa! - Whoa.
Lou: Whoa! Whoa! Amy: Lou, hey! Okay, that's it! Venus clearly has a problem with me! Maybe it's a sign! A sign? What kind of sign? Well obviously we're not a good match, Amy, so maybe Mitch and I aren't either! This is not about you and Mitch, Lou! This is about you and the horse! You guys just need time! You know what, Amy, we don't all have time like you to just sit back and watch how the world unfolds! - What are you talking about? - I'm talking about your pregnancy! - Oh don't turn this around on me! - No, no, no! Amy, you are not the least bit prepared! No, Lou, stop! - Do you even have a birth plan? - No.
I don't know.
I was thinking maybe I'd give birth at home.
Amy, you can't give birth in a barn! Are you crazy?! Do you know what I would have given to have been in a hospital when Katie was born?! I'm the one having the baby, okay, so this decision is mine and Ty's! Yeah, that's right.
That requires you to actually make a decision though, Amy, and so far, I'm shocked by how few you've made! Maybe I haven't made enough decisions, but neither have you! (Pig snorts and wheezes) Georgie: I don't get.
Why didn't she eat? Adam: I don't know.
Pigs have big appetites.
It's weird.
Whoa.
What's up with her breathing? Not sure.
She doesn't look very good.
Something's definitely wrong.
(Pig wheezes and strains) Georgie: I'll, I'll call Cass! (Phone beeps) Cass, hi it's Georgie.
We've got a pig at the reserve here and we think she's sick.
She's not eating and her breathing's all off.
She's really wheezing.
(Pig wheezes and snorts) Okay, well how fast can you get here? Okay.
Okay, yeah, we'll get her there as soon as possible.
Thanks.
Bye.
Cass thinks Petunia might have swallowed something and it got stuck.
- So why isn't she coming? - She can't.
She's got surgery! (Pig wheezes and strains) She says she could be in a lot of pain.
She could even die! We need to get Petunia to the clinic now! How? Um Bob's truck! The keys are in the cabin.
I'll drive.
You only have your Learner's! I know I only have my Learner's, but the clinic isn't that far! (Metallic clank) Where are the cabin keys?! Last time I had them was when we fed Petunia.
What if they fell into her pen? What if she swallowed them? Oh my God! Petunia's sick because of me.
No one is answering! It's up to us.
We've gotta do this.
Adam: What are you doing? Georgie? (Window rattles) Georgie! (Sighs) (Keys clink) (Door opens) Got 'em.
Let's go! (Door shuts) (Pig squeals) You okay? She looks heavy.
Don't worry I got it.
Open the tailgate.
No, no! What are you doing?! She's sick! Put her in the front with me.
Come on! Okay.
- It's okay.
- You got it? Yeah, I got her.
Just get in.
(Pig squeals) I know.
(Door shuts) (Truck starts up) (Pig squeals) (Tires crunch on gravel) Hey.
Hey.
What's that? Peace offering.
You made more? (Gate clanks) (Chuckles) These are a healthier version.
I used maple syrup instead of sugar Oh, Lou, just let me enjoy this, please.
I shouldn't have blown up at you like that, but you do need to get better prepared, Amy.
I know.
I'm just not as excited about doing baby stuff without Ty.
And I get that, but I worry.
You know, pregnancy is a crap shoot, and the more that you can do when you're up to it the better.
And really, I'm just sorry that I'm not here to help out more.
Hey, mmm mmm.
You've got a lot going on yourself.
Yeah.
You know, I still haven't told Peter about this new Maggie's deal.
This Mitch thing has really thrown me off.
Georgie asked me if I want this horse, and I think I do.
Ach, you're right, my head's a mess.
Honestly? I think that's why you're not connecting with Venus.
- Come on, Amy.
- No, I do.
Well, a big part of me does want to see where things go with Mitch, but I'm leaving again, and I have the girls to think about, and grandpa, he likes having Mitch around.
So what if it doesn't work out between us? See there's your head talking again.
Maybe you should listen to your heart.
(Truck rumbles) We'll only take the back roads, promise.
There are no back roads in Hudson! It'll be okay.
I drove here today.
My dad said I was a good driver.
(Pig squeals quietly) (Truck rumbles) (Birds chirp) (Grass rustles) (Thunder rumbles) (Squeaking sounds) (Birds chirp) (Thunder rumbles) (Squeaking sounds) (Whispers) Stay ready! (Menacing growl) (Vicious growl) (Gun clicks) (Vicious growl) (Vicious growl) (Vicious growl) Jack: (Whispers loudly) Shoot him! (Vicious growl) (Heavy breathing) Jack: Come on, Mitch! (Thunder booms) (Shaky breathing) (Thunder rumbles) (Grass rustles) What the hell?! He was standin' right there! I know.
I I'm sorry, Jack.
I just - I just, I froze.
- Yeah, no kiddin'.
(Gun clatters) Thing is I haven't touched a gun since Afghanistan.
Yeah, well It's probably for the best.
Georgie wouldn't have forgiven me, so What happened over there? Uh, Zack and I, we served together.
Zack? You've mentioned him.
Your cousin.
Well, he's more like a brother, really.
I take it he didn't make it back.
No, he did.
(Horse whinnies) But um What happened? He shot himself.
(Truck rumbles) (Pig wheezes) See? I told you it'd be fine.
Oh, no, no, that's my dad! It's a roadblock! Come on in.
Right here.
Well, look who it is.
License please.
Hey! How was ballet? It was awesome! Peter: Apparently the best.
Oh, my gosh.
I can't believe these actually fit Katie.
Look at how small they are.
Yeah, Amy hasn't really bought anything for the baby so I was gonna give them to her if you're okay with that? Yeah, yeah, of course.
Whatever, whatever she needs.
You know, I actually have some exciting news.
Uh, this whole Maggie's thing, it's really taking off, and the investors want to open more locations.
Wow, that's that's a big undertaking.
Yeah, it is, and Nicole and I are seriously considering it, but it would mean I would have to be away more than I planned.
How much more? I'm not sure, but if I did it you would have to spend more time at Heartland.
- (Bemused sigh) - What? Nothing it's just, uh, it's just what you've always criticized me for putting work before family.
It's what you said blew up our marriage.
Okay, well that's one way of looking at it.
No, it's the only way of looking at it, Lou.
Why's it suddenly okay for you to do it? It's just a little hypocritical that's all.
Peter, who stood behind you all those years? Katie: Daddy, I need you! Well, this is a first.
(Pig squeals) - Look, dad - I can explain! I hope so.
Aren't you supposed to be at the reserve? You only have your Learner's? Okay, you two out of the car now! We were on our way to the vet clinic! There is no excuse for you to be driving without a licensed driver present.
It's illegal.
You know that, right? I do, but Petunia swallowed keys! Yeah, she's really sick.
(Pig squeals) You mean the pig? We called for a ride, but nobody picked up.
And this is the best plan you two could come up with? No, don't blame Adam! This was my idea! Look, I know it looks bad and I'll face the consequences But we have to get her to a vet clinic! She could die! Please! Let's go.
(Door shuts) (Mutter police radio chatter) (Door shuts) (Car starts up) (Pig snorts) (Knock at the door) - Hey.
- Hey.
Peter: Listen, I'm sorry, okay? It's a fantastic opportunity and of course you should do it and I will step up.
Thank you.
Our marriage may have failed, but I'm not gonna fail at being the best dad I can possibly be for our girls.
That means a lot.
And I'm excited, but I'm also worried about being away more.
I honestly don't know how I'm gonna juggle it.
No, you'll figure it out, you And I'm here.
I'll be here to support you, you know, whatever you need, you and the girls.
There is something I've been meaning to ask you.
Uh It's been sorta kicking around in my head a little bit.
Um What's really going on with you and this ranch hand? It's nothing official, but things have changed.
There's something between us and I want to see where it goes.
I'm sorry, Peter, I'm not telling you to hurt you.
I just want to be honest.
No, yeah, that's uh I hope that works out for you if that's what you want.
(Receding footsteps) (Birds chirp) (Paper CD case crinkles) (Approaching footsteps) Lou: Incoming! Hey.
What do you got there? Lou: Ah, just some of Katie's old clothes.
Oh, Lou, they're adorable.
Are you giving these to me? I've been saving them for you, and it's a good thing too, or else my niece or nephew might not have anything to wear.
Very funny.
Actually, you'll be happy to know I just signed up for that prenatal class you told me about.
Amy, that's great.
You're gonna love Margo.
She's the best.
Yeah, yeah It's just I don't I don't have a prenatal partner right now.
So I was hoping maybe if you had time Yes! Yes, Amy, I would love that! And I will do everything I can to make sure I'm here to make that happen.
Thanks, Lou.
Oh my gosh, I remember this one.
Wow, that it so tiny.
(Laughing) It is.
(Sighs) You seem more relaxed.
Um, well I told Peter about the expansion plans, and then he came right out and asked me about Mitch.
What did you say? I admitted there's something there, and I told him I want to see where it goes.
And how did that go over? He was great about it, actually.
And I've been thinking I want to keep this horse.
I want Venus.
But you know there's one more thing we have to do first, right? (Exhales) You ready? Yeah, I am.
Good girl.
Good girl, Venus.
You got this.
Okay.
(Hooves thud slowly) Amy: That's it.
(Hooves thud a bit faster) - Amy, she's amazing! - (Laughs) (Hooves thud faster) For what it's worth I know what it's like to lose someone.
It makes you feel like well, you're helpless, like you should have been able to prevent it.
The thing is, you can't take responsibility for the choices that other people make.
Now if Zack had his mind made up to go down that road there's nothin' you or anybody else coulda done to change his mind.
Yeah, I know, you're right.
It's just I'm the one that persuaded him to sign up in the first place.
If I'd left well enough alone he'd probably still be alive.
Okay.
I didn't know Zack, but if he's half the man you say he was he wouldn't want you blamin' yourself.
He'd want you to move on.
(Car rumbles) Georgie: Did Cass say she'd call when she finds out what's going on? Jim: You've got other things to worry about.
(Car turns off) (Door opens and shuts) Peter: Jim thanks for bringing her home.
Of course.
I wish I could say it's nice to see you, - but here we are again.
- Jim: Yup.
What are we gonna do with these two? I don't know.
Look, I know what you're going to say No, we don't want to hear it.
There is no excuse for this behavior, Georgie.
You're grounded until further notice.
And that goes for you too.
No, it's not his fault! He only did it because I made him! Lou: Georgie, there were a lot of other, safer choices you two could have made.
I honestly thought it would be okay.
The clinic wasn't that far, and even dad said I was a good driver! Seriously? Your dad lets you practice driving - and suddenly this is his fault? - No! You're right.
Okay, I'm sorry.
Peter: This isn't the first time you've taken a vehicle without permission either, is it? Jim: Do you know what that's called in my line of work? A repeat offender.
What if somebody got hurt? What if you hurt yourselves? Jim: Look, I know they had the best of intentions, as you two always do.
You could have been charged, you know, but I'll let it go this time.
Okay? Good.
Now I do have to say that's the first time I've ever taken a pig into custody.
(Chuckles) Peter: Katie's got a surprise for ya.
You do? This is you having a big apple! (Laughs) Honey, I love it! (Kiss) Mommy's gonna look at this every night.
Can me and daddy go have ice cream? Lou: (Chuckles) That's up to daddy.
You go get your sneakers on, okay? I'll be in in a sec to help with the laces.
Katie: Okay.
Look, I just-I want to thank you for stepping up to make this happen for me.
Yeah, absolutely.
You, you deserve it, Lou.
You know, this is my time to, uh, stand behind you.
(Chuckles) Georgie: Lou, Scott's here! Petunia's gonna be okay? Yeah, she's on the mend.
Turns out there wasn't any blockage.
(Keys clink) (Laughs) Where'd you find those? Llama enclosure.
Look, Georgie, I know you felt responsible, but that doesn't excuse the risk you and Adam took.
So, what is wrong with Petunia? She is sick, right? Well, she has pneumonia.
After a round of antibiotics she's already improving, so you probably saved her life.
- And thanks for coming, Scott.
- No problem.
(Sighs) Hey, how's Venus doing? Really great, actually.
That's good to hear.
Okay, I'm outta here.
Thanks, Scott.
- See ya.
- Scott: Later.
- And where are you going? - I've gotta go make a call.
And I need to talk to Mitch.
Have you seen him? Yeah, he's out exercising Harley.
I just watched them take off.
Did you see which way he went? No way! He said we saved her life? Pretty much.
Makes all this worth it, huh? Yeah.
It's just too bad we can't celebrate together.
Yeah, I know.
It sucks.
I'd like that.
Okay, then, we'll celebrate when we're not grounded anymore.
(Laughs) If that ever happens! Hey, Amy, how are ya? You look a little tired.
Actually, I'm, I'm great.
I signed up for a prenatal class.
I wish I could be there with you right now.
Me too.
How was the appointment? (Chuckles) - Is that the ultrasound? - Yup.
I've been waiting to look at it with you.
The nurse said that a trained eye might be able to tell if it's a boy or girl.
Well, do you want to know? I don't think I want to know.
Is it okay with you if we keep it a surprise? To be honest, as long as our baby is healthy I'm good either way.
It's your love, it's your love Mitch: Lou! Lou: Hey! Mitch: Hey, what are you doin' here? I thought you had a plane to catch? Yeah, I do, but I, uh, I wanted to see you first, to thank you for Venus.
I'm glad she's workin' out.
You know, I, uh, I wanted to do better this time.
See now the last time I bought a horse for the dude ranch she ended up being pregnant with twins.
I'll send you the invoice.
Invoice? Yeah, don't worry.
I got a killer deal on her.
Yeah, sure, that's great.
We needed a new trail ride horse for the dude ranch.
Lou, about what happened the other day at the river Um, I feel like I owe you an apology.
My head was in a dark place.
It was the anniversary of Zack's death, and, you know, to tell you the truth I I still find it hard.
Mitch, no wonder you wanted to be alone I'm so sorry.
Well, I think this guy's had enough for one day.
Come on, let's get you back.
I wouldn't want you to miss your flight.
It's your love, it's your love It's your love that keeps me moving on It's your love, it's your love Ooh sweet, sweet love
