Ghost Hunters (2004) s11e01 Episode Script

All Aboard the Ghost Train

1 There's something moving in here.
There it is.
On this episode of "Ghost Hunters" STEVE: The Midwest Railway Preservation Society They've had so many things happen around them People dying, suicide by train.
JASON: Let alone you had the Cleveland Torso Murderer dropping bodies.
Someone was killing people and dismembering them.
Maybe you knew him as the Mad Butcher? Often, I hear this rap-rap-rap.
And I'm like, "What the heck's going on? I'm the only one here.
" [Thudding.]
DUSTIN: What is that sound? JASON: They want us to come in and see what's going on, see if we're able to document any of it.
Oh.
I came to do work on the death car, and as I walked in, all the windows slammed shut, all at the same time.
DUSTIN: Are there any spirits back here? K.
J.
: Did you hear that? Did you work on the train here? JASON: Did you see that? JASON: Cleveland, Ohio Home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Lake Erie, and one of the most infamous unsolved murder cases in American history.
[Horn blows.]
TAPS have been called in to investigate a working rail yard and service station that is close to the dumping grounds of the Cleveland Torso Murderer, as well as the sight of gruesome accidents.
The service station also houses several railcars with histories of tragic deaths.
STEVE: The Midwest Railway Preservation Society, they've had so many things happen around them People dying, people committing suicide by train.
JASON: Let alone you had the Cleveland Torso Murderer dropping bodies all around the location.
Lots of tragedy.
That's just really, really crazy.
In the 1930s, the Cleveland Torso Murderer, also known as the Mad Butcher of Kingsbury Run, murdered and dismembered at least 12 victims in the Cleveland area.
Overseeing the investigations was famed G-man, Eliot Ness.
Unfortunately, the killer was never caught.
But many believe he was a railroad worker and possibly even directly connected to the service station, which could explain some of the activity.
They claim that there's all different types of apparitions People see shadows, they see all these different things going on in there.
And we were called in by a couple different people.
Steve, who has worked there for many years, and also a guy by the name of John Tarzan who owns old railway cars.
And he's had activity in some of the cars he owns.
- Interesting.
- Definitely.
STEVE: I know he's been talking about a ghost passenger.
- Yep.
- He filed a complaint and everything because of it.
And, you know, Steve really wants to know what's going on, if we're able to document anything for them.
If we hear a train coming, maybe we should set down one of the rem-pods and see what maybe it gives off.
That's not a bad idea at all.
All right.
Well, let's get over there and talk with them.
JASON: TAPS case Midwest Railway Preservation Society, Cleveland, Ohio.
Hey, how are you guys? Hey, pretty good.
How are you guys? - Good.
I'm Jason.
- John.
It's a pleasure.
Steve.
Welcome to the roundhouse.
It was actually built in 1907.
A lot of locomotives have been in here, a lot of steam engines.
Basically, over 400 people were working here 24/7.
JASON: Working a rail yard back then was a dangerous job.
Numerous injuries and deaths occurred on the site.
One of the most dangerous jobs was that of the brake man who had to walk on the top of train cars and manually apply the brakes.
Sometimes a brakeman would fall from a moving train and be killed.
We hear that there's just a ton of paranormal activity that seems to be going on around here.
That's true.
I would have all kinds of crazy experiences going on in here, you know? I'd be sitting in the office going through paperwork and, all of a sudden, I hear this rap-rap-rap.
You know, I walked out It's real peaceful, calm.
There's no wind, no nothing, you know? And then, of course, a couple of the other volunteers that work down here heard them, too.
Anything visual ever that you've seen? I haven't, but other people have.
JASON: In addition to hearing mysterious noises in the roundhouse, people also report seeing shadow figures.
There have been other sightings in the yard where Midwest Railway restores cars, such as the death car, so named for a 1943 accident in which 26 people were killed instantly from scalding-hot water and steam.
Claims in the death car include shadow figures, a voice telling people to get out, and windows that violently close on their own.
CIPARIS: I came to do work on the death car, so I opened up all the windows inside the car to kind of air it out.
Then I went into the women's restroom to do whatever work I had to do, and as I walked in, all the windows slammed shut, all at the same time.
I do believe that the death car is haunted.
JASON: In one instance, a young boy had his arm broken when a window slammed shut on him.
Full-body apparitions are also frequently seen.
One time we were in the death car, and we have, like, a tour coming in during the fall.
And I was giving that talk in the car and then one of the ladies in the back calls and says, "Are you gonna let that gentleman in the tweed suit talk?" And I turned around and there's nobody there.
I said, "What gentleman?" You know? In the Mt.
Baxter car, visitors claim to feel a presence of four to five male and female spirits and have heard voices, especially near the number-7 bunk, where a woman passed away in her sleep.
And in the kitchen car, people claim to feel a male presence.
CRAIG: The kitchen car was in the process of being gutted out completely.
And we were just standing there, kind of taking some nails out of the side of the wall.
And, all of a sudden, this huge gust of wind just, like, blew passed us, and we both looked at each other like, "Did you feel that?" Now, John, you've experienced things first-hand, correct? Oh, yeah.
Yes.
I'm a vintage train-car collector.
And here I bought the 1929 heavyweight Pullman passenger train.
About a month after I had it, I started hearing banging noises.
I called up the Midwest Railway Preservation Society, and they said that same banging they heard when it was here.
So, something went with the train.
I didn't know what it was.
So, what are you mainly hoping that we are able to accomplish here? Well, I know John's interested in getting another car from us, and he doesn't want to have any more ghosts in them.
And the workers, you know, because they do get spooked here a lot, so So, just trying to figure out some answers - on what that could possibly be.
- Yeah, exactly.
- Awesome.
- Well, from here, we're gonna go talk to the rest of the crew, start figuring out how to set up cameras and figuring out what we can do for you guys.
- Okay, great.
- Thank you.
Thank you very much for your time.
- Sure.
- Thanks for coming.
STEVE: We just heard everything that's happening here at the Midwest Railway Preservation Society.
It's a really, really intense history here.
I mean, you have many deaths that happened on the grounds here.
The history of these cars, they have stories behind them.
26 people lost their lives instantly in the death car.
So, of course, the energy from that traumatic experience could be trapped within that structure.
So, we're gonna try to figure out what's going on and just hope that we're able to document some of this.
So, we're setting this camera up here on the railway car because this whole kitchen Some guys were doing some work and they felt a presence.
So, if anything happens tonight, this camera here should get it for us.
STEVE: This case is pretty interesting for me.
I just love rail travel.
I do.
I don't fly.
I either drive places or, a lot of the times, I take the train.
So I might feel the connect with them on that level as a fellow rail passenger.
So, right now I'm on the death car.
The kind of claims here include the man in the tweed suit, we have voices, we have sounds.
So I'm gonna set this up pointing down there where that man in the tweed suit was seen, and maybe we can talk to him tonight.
DAVE: I see you there, K.
J.
That actually looks really great.
Plus, we're getting the spot where the woman died, so All right.
I like it.
We're good.
K.
J.
: Copy.
Locking it down.
- Yo.
- Hey, guys.
All right.
- How are we? DAVE: We're all set.
We have five DVR cameras and one stationary GoPro.
Awesome.
Let's get the lights out and get going on the - investigation.
- All right.
Great job.
This is Steve and Dave.
We're heading into the Mt.
Baxter car at the Midwest Railway Preservation Society.
EMF 0.
2.
Hello? Can you please tell us your name? You should come out and talk to us.
I love train travel.
We know that you may not have the best time on a train, especially if you passed away on this particular car.
That's right you've been on sleeper trains.
Oh, yeah.
You do have somewhat of a connection to this, especially this car.
All the time in sleeper cars.
I love it.
Don't be afraid of us.
You can come out and talk to us.
Can you hear us? Hello? Here we are.
SAMANTHA: This is Sam and K.
J.
in the warehouse of the Midwest Railway Preservation Society.
All right, so in here, people claim to feel, like, a strange male presence, I guess, right? Do we know why they think it's male? Does it just feel heavy and tall? I mean - Yeah, I don't know.
- Right.
Tall, dark, and handsome? Yeah.
Maybe short, freckly, and handsome.
[Chuckles.]
It seems most likely, you know, that it would be a male presence, because there's a lot of men that work on the railway, a lot of men died over the years.
Is there anybody here? Steven asked us to come out.
Do you know who Steven is? We're wondering if you worked here.
Want to go upstairs? Sure.
Yeah.
Let's explore.
We're just gonna walk around.
Do you know anything about the Torso Murderer? Do you remember? Someone was killing people and dismembering them? Not too far from here.
Maybe you knew him as the Mad Butcher of Kingsbury? They believe he decapitated 12 individuals, and nobody knows who he was.
He was never caught.
Do you know who he was? JASON: Jay and Steve, on the 90 car, heading towards the Mt.
Baxter car.
STEVE: Hello? Right now we're investigating one of the train cars, and there's a series of cars over here that are investigatable.
And we're having claims of feeling a presence They feel like something is watching them, something is there with them, and they're hearing sounds that they can't explain.
[Bang.]
There was just a bang up front.
Did it sound like a Like a [Tap.]
Like that, kind of, but up there.
Like something just [taps.]
tapped.
Right.
Hello? Are you trying to get our attention here? This is that bed that that lady passed away on.
I wouldn't mind spending some real time in here.
You can do that.
I mean, if she really did pass away here, that's quite fascinating to me.
Hey, while you're laying there, I'm gonna head towards where that noise just came from.
Okay.
I do a lot of train travel.
I would say the sleeping accommodations have definitely gotten better.
Hello? Were you a passenger on this train? JASON: If there's anyone in here, can you do something to let us know you're with us? [Tapping.]
There was just movement down there.
Hello? [Thudding.]
There's something moving in here.
- [Tap.]
- There it is.
JASON: If there's anyone in here, can you do something to let us know you're with us? [Thudding.]
There's something moving in here.
- [Tap.]
- There it is.
It's not just creaks and bumps, like metal.
You can understand me.
Can you move? Do something that makes a loud noise? [Voice whispers.]
Sounded like a voice.
Steve decided he was gonna spend some time in the bed where a passenger passed away many, many years ago.
And I started walking through the cars.
And, as I did, I got into the actual kitchen car and I had to stop because I could hear what sounded like footsteps about 30, 40 feet up from me.
And I did hear what sounded like some sort of a voice.
There's nothing there.
Definitely strange.
All right.
Let's board the old death car.
All right.
K.
J.
: All aboard the train of death.
It's kind of creepy, you know, the car they call the death car.
DUSTIN: It's super creepy.
Let's start an EVP session.
I just want to get an eyeball on that back door, 'cause this is the area where there was a lecture going on - Oh, that's right.
- Right? And there was supposedly a man I think it was the man in the tweed jacket.
That's the same guy they think they've seen on top of the car, too.
Right.
I'm gonna go stand back there along that wall area where I think that this lecturer could have been.
Okay.
And just do a little lecture for you or whatever.
Very well.
I shall be your audience member, sir.
You think? All right.
I shall sit here and pay attention to you.
All right.
And I believe, from what we were told, the gentleman was standing just about here.
And this other gentleman, who wasn't part of the whole lecture, appeared.
This was originally car number 62, and this train was in a horrific accident.
A steam locomotive came crashing into it and exploded, and all the steam and hot water came rushing into this train, and 26 members of this car were killed instantly.
Well done, sir.
Did you see any man in a tweed jacket? No, I didn't see anything.
[Crickets chirping.]
SAMANTHA: So, this is Sam and Shari in the B&O roundhouse.
There's lots of claims of sounds and tools missing or getting moved, a shadow.
That big, open door over there, there was a shadow, and it's a newer claim.
They darted, like, across the doorway.
SHARI: Is there anybody here that would like to talk to us? SAMANTHA: At one point, there was a gentleman whose name we don't know, but he was nicknamed The Torso Murderer.
This man was never caught, but he's believed to have taken the lives of 12 people.
And nobody knows who the gentleman was.
They don't know if he was somebody who worked here.
Now, in any way, are you connected to that? SHARI: We do have a device that will allow us to hear you later on, so if you need to say anything, all you got to do is talk into this machine right here that Sam is holding.
And if there's anything you need to tell Steven, you know, please tell us.
JASON: All right, Steve.
This is the one they call the death car.
26 people died instantly.
- Morbid and terrifying.
- Yep.
I guess two ended up dying later in the hospital.
That must have been even worse.
They had to live through that pain.
[Sighs.]
People claim to see a lot of shadows and hear voices, and see full-body apparitions in here.
I guess if you know the history of it, it could definitely Could definitely spook you out.
Oh, my gosh.
Yeah.
This is the window that came down on the kid's arm.
JASON: All right, so I can already see, just these little grooves right here.
- Careful.
- Window's up.
But look both sides are barely hanging on.
- Mm-hmm.
- If I start moving this window, the thing comes right off, see? It's not on.
- It's not even on the track.
Definitely a possibility that it could fall.
Was the train moving when it happened? Yeah.
The car was moving.
Yeah.
Oh, see that? - See? - Yeah.
That almost just happened to you.
Yep.
Whoa, yeah.
Yep.
I mean, I think we disproved that.
Absolutely.
Is there anybody here that'd like to talk to us? Were you here when this train got into an accident? Did you work on the train here? Or were you riding the train? We know what you went through was awful.
Do you still feel that pain? Did you see that? STEVE: We know what you went through was awful.
Do you still feel that pain? Did you see that? Looks a shadow, though.
It's not anybody walking by, right? JASON: Steve and I were in the death car and, all of a sudden, I saw what appeared to be a solid black shadow.
And it was really quick Probably lasted all of about a second and it was gone.
We tried to look for some sort of an explanation, but there wasn't any.
It was just it looked like just a shadow.
All right, well, you know, let's let's another team get in here.
Yeah.
All right, K.
J.
All right, Dave.
The B&O roundhouse.
Let's do this thing.
My name is Dave.
This is my friend K.
J.
We came here because Steven just really wants to know what's happening here.
Someone a few weeks ago said that they saw some shadows.
Is that you? We're trying to establish if you were a passenger on one of the trains or if you worked here.
[Tap.]
DAVE: Oh.
Oh.
Did you hear that? Hello? If you're trying to get our attention, you have it.
Can you please do that again? It sounded like it was, like, right in here.
Right here, yeah.
I keep looking at this barrel.
Yeah.
'Cause to me, it sounded like a knock, a knuckle on the barrel.
- Uh-huh.
Let me see - [Taps.]
- Ooh.
I mean, that sounds pretty spot on.
That sounded exactly like what that was.
Or if you worked here.
DAVE: Oh.
Oh.
Did you hear that? Oh.
Oh.
I'm gonna go back to where we were.
- Uh-huh.
- I'm gonna have this, 'cause this was rolling when we heard that.
- Yeah.
- Hopefully I got it.
Do it again, and that way we can match later on - if it's exactly that same sound.
- Perfect.
- Just do it a little lighter than I did.
- Okay.
K.
J.
: You ready, Dave? Ready.
[Tap.]
- Do it again.
- How about like this? [Tap.]
That sounds almost identical.
- Sounds pretty similar from here.
- Yeah.
Just from my own ear, that sounds almost identical.
And I looked at the barrel when I heard it.
It was the first thing - that your eyes go to.
- Right.
You're like, "That could definitely have made that sound.
" Is there anything you could do right now so that we're sure it's you? [Train wheels screeching.]
- [Radio beeps.]
- JASON: Hey, team, be careful.
We got a train backing in, making a connection right next to the TAPS van.
[Screeching continues.]
Steve mentioned that he wanted to see if the rem-pod would go off if a train went by it, and I had the rem-pod near the train while it was moving and it didn't go off.
So if there is any energy, it doesn't seem to be coming from the actual track.
[Screeching stops, cars bang together.]
This is Dustin and Shari in the B&O roundhouse.
DUSTIN: This is a first.
I've never investigated any place like this before.
I've never even been on a train before.
- You've never been on a train? - No.
Trains are, like, my favorite way to travel.
- Really? - There's something like old-school romantic about trains.
Old-school romantic.
Maybe that's why I've never been on one.
[Laughs.]
You don't like old-school things or romance? Okay, so I had the small GoPro camera up there with a little IR to boost, so we'll try to get this pathway where, apparently, that guy walked by.
Maybe even do an EVP session here? - See if we get anything? - Sure.
Place the recorder down, maybe? Something like that Okay.
I'm gonna set the camera up this way, because we have the GoPro and the small camera shooting this way.
So we'll have this one shooting that way, just so we can cover both sides since we're in here.
So I know one of the other claims they have here is that they hear sounds of If they're working down this end, sounds like somebody's working down that end and vice versa.
And also with the tools tools are Yeah, disappearing tools, right? Right, and then reappearing either there or someplace else.
So, if there are any spirits that are here with us tonight, we're gonna be trying to communicate with you in various means.
If you can try to speak into that device with the red light or this one over here with the two red lights.
If there's anybody here, can you make a noise? It has to be really loud 'cause it's very hard to hear you.
Were you someone that worked on one of these trains? Did you work in this garage for many years maybe? Still kind of come back here and check on things? Getting little sounds from the ceiling.
If that was you, can you do something else? Were you a mechanic here? Is that why the tools go missing sometimes? If you are not associated with the trains, can you tell us why you are here? Are there many other spirits like you are that still come through here? [Thudding.]
What is that sound? SHARI: If you are not associated with the trains, can you tell us why you are here? DUSTIN: Are there many other spirits like you are that still come through here? [Thudding.]
What is that sound? If you're able to do that, could you make that sound again? [Thudding.]
Sounds like someone's walking through there.
Seems to be in that back area most of the time, yeah.
Just want to take a walk outside, just to make sure, like, there's nothing out there.
It doesn't look like anything's out here.
Just go back in and just see what we can see.
Is there more than one of you here with us tonight? If there's more than one of you, make that loud sound like you did just a moment ago.
SAMANTHA: Sam and Dave in the Mt.
Baxter car, heading into the lounge section.
So you want to hear a tidbit? DAVE: Yeah, please.
The movie "The Natural" Yeah, I did hear about this.
and he signed his contract right here at this table.
That's so crazy.
So cool the way this is The history of this, how it looks.
People claim that there are multiple spirits in here.
We've been told maybe four or five.
We just want to get answers for Steven.
So, please, tell us anything that you can about yourself.
All right, so right now, Dustin, Shari, and I are in the Mt.
Baxter car.
People have had experiences in here and it is thought that there are, you know, four to five spirits that are rolling through here.
If there is anyone here right now besides us, we ask you to join us in conversation.
How about the lady that passed away in the bed over there, does your spirit still visit this place? SHARI: Can you tell us if there's any messages that you want to send to somebody? [EMF beeps.]
A little EMF movement, not much.
Did you have a final destination? If so, could you tell us what that final destination was? [EMF beeps rapidly.]
Hmm.
For some reason, this thing is going off.
Are there several spirits maybe that just kind of roam this whole rail yard? Maybe we should talk about the Torso killings.
It could be that we've got some of those spirits that were killed in this area.
Maybe the story of the unfortunate happenings in the death car and the brakeman dying Maybe those are just coincidentally put together with the other activity that's here.
But maybe the spirits that are here are from the other tragic things that happened here.
We don't mean any disrespect by bringing up a tragic event.
We're really looking for any clue to [EMF beeps.]
Oh, why? For some reason, that alert is going off during specific questions.
Were you perhaps a victim of the Torso Killer? The Mad Butcher? You should be able to come forward and let us know you're here now.
- Ooh.
[Laughs.]
- All right, here we go.
Geez.
- Steve and Dave.
- Into the warehouse.
Hello? If there's anyone here, please let us know.
Do you know anything about The Torso Murder? We know that some of his victims were found right near this train yard.
Hey, Tango.
Check out this old picture.
Look at all these people with those straw hats that they say they claim to see.
How many people wore that? You got, just in this picture, you got at least 10.
The apparition they see over at the death car - Mm-hmm.
- it could be a worker.
Right.
But they don't know who.
And now, seeing this, it was probably a worker from back then.
Or a stowaway.
Yeah, or that.
But I feel like you're more on track with him being a worker.
- Huh.
Is that a train pun? - What do you mean? "On track"? - Oh, hey.
- Hey.
K.
J.
: This is K.
J.
, Dustin, and Shari, moving into the kitchen car to continue our EVP session.
DUSTIN: If there's anybody back here with us, could you make a noise so maybe we could come closer? It's kind of creepy, actually.
Dustin and Shari and I have moved all the way into the kitchen car, and the claims back here Strange noises, when they come back to check it out, nobody's back here.
Were you one of the cooks? Did you spend so much time on this car that you don't want to leave? Are you upset that it looks like this right now? Make a loud sound for me on the count of three.
One two three.
Did you hear that? DUSTIN: Make a loud sound for me on the count of three.
One two three.
K.
J.
: Did you hear that? - No, I didn't hear anything over here.
- SHARI: No.
You didn't just hear footsteps? No.
Thought I heard something after - that, though.
- I heard right.
I swear I just heard footsteps.
After you said it, I heard it after that, but not before.
Right after.
Right.
No, it's sealed shut.
Hmm, I don't want to open it.
Door falls off or whatever, you know? Honestly, it sounded like it was coming from above us.
Oh, that would've been brakeman territory - if it was above us.
- Right.
I mean, I don't know.
I only heard that one thing right after you said something, but it sounded like it was back here.
DUSTIN: If the brakeman's still here with us, we'd like to hear you.
JASON: This is Jay and Steve in the B&O roundhouse, checking out one of the old locomotives.
Right now, we're investigating some of the locomotives.
There have been reports that they've seen a few different things in here Shadows.
Heard some voices Nothing incredibly visual, unfortunately, but we still have to investigate them.
JASON: This is the way to ride, though.
STEVE: Up here, yeah.
You're surrounded by all these archaic-looking controls.
Very primitive.
These engineers don't have much room up here.
Hello? Is anyone in here? Can you do something to let us know you're with us? Holy crap.
All right.
It's about that time.
We're gonna wrap it.
I think so.
All the teams have really put in quite a night of investigation.
Absolutely.
[Radio beeps.]
Hey, guys, let's get the lights on.
It's time to wrap.
All right.
Good job.
Let's see what turns up in the evidence.
Absolutely.
JASON: We just wrapped the investigation, and we've been able to come up with some answers that will help Steve and John, but also, we've had some neat activity that I'm looking forward to analyzing.
The sounds that we heard while we were in the kitchen car The movement, the voices, possibly the shadow that I saw while we were in the death car.
One of their clients took a train out of here that had a ghost on it, and he wants us to be able to tell his clients that, you know, that's not gonna happen on every train that comes through this place.
But we collected a tremendous amount of data.
So we have to go through all of it and then report back here to our clients and let them know exactly what we did or didn't find.
I think it's been a great investigation.
Just getting out here has been an incredible experience.
So, guys, at the Midwest Railway Preservation Society, we have John Tarzan and we also have Steven, our other client who, you know, has a bunch of things happening.
But it seems like that whole area itself, you know, from the location of the Torso murders to, you know, everything that happened with the railway, maybe you know there's a lot of energy from all of those tragedies that are just kind of following along with the tracks and the trains and the energy involved with that.
Right.
As far as experiences go, did anything happen to anybody? Dustin and I were in the roundhouse - where the guys saw the shadow.
- Mm-hmm.
We were doing, you know, EVP work.
There was actually a lot of noise coming from, like, the ceiling area.
I reviewed that, you know, and it's, like it was loud.
- Yeah.
- And it's like something was walking around up there.
So I will play that for you guys.
DUSTIN: Are there many other spirits like you are that still come through here? [Thudding.]
Interesting.
Sounds like some traveling - going on, too.
- Right.
Those noises were only going on when we were doing the EVP.
So, I have an interesting piece for you guys that I'd like you to listen to.
This was an investigation where Dustin and I and Shari were together.
We went to the Mt.
Baxter car.
We were just trying to figure out, "What was your final destination?" You know? You obviously didn't make it there, but what was it? And this came through.
K.
J.
: Did you have a final destination? If so, could you tell us what that final destination was? Hmm.
One more time.
If so, could you tell us what that final destination was? You know, it does have this kind of vocal tone to it, you know? Right.
And it does sound like it says "home.
" It definitely correlates to what the function of that particular location was that we were investigating.
- Right.
- So, I have one piece.
Now, it's Dad and Steve and they're in the death car.
And they're knocking on things and just trying to get things to move around.
And, as they're doing it, you hear something.
And they don't hear it, they don't acknowledge it.
[Knocking.]
JASON: We're only held on right now by this right here.
- Wow.
- What was that? Wow.
JASON: TAPS was called in to Cleveland, Ohio, to investigate a variety of paranormal claims at the Midwest Railway Preservation Society.
- Hey, guys.
How are you? - Hey.
Hi.
We've reviewed our evidence, and now it's time to share our findings with our clients, Steven and John.
Well, you know what we did We came in, you told us about all the claims going on here, and even your new car that you actually have activity in, as well.
Mm-hmm.
We'd like to show you some - stuff, get your take on it.
- Sure.
Two of our investigators, Shari and Dustin were actually in here in the roundhouse investigating.
And they were able to have some experiences that sounded like somebody walking around on the roof.
DUSTIN: Are there many other spirits like you are that still come through here? People hear noises all the time in here.
You know, when they're working late and stuff like that.
Would there be any reason why somebody would be up on the roof, though? - There's no way to get up there.
- Okay.
There's not a ladder on the building, or nothing.
They always get that, everybody does that.
Gotcha.
Well, during the investigation, at one point, we spent some time going through the kitchen car.
Mm-hmm.
While we were in there, I was able to hear what sounded as if somebody was walking.
Now, I was standing still, even my cameraman was standing still.
And we were able to hear what sounded like somebody walking up and down.
We'll play that for you.
There's something moving in here.
There it is.
KORPOS: Mm-hmm.
Yeah, I can hear it.
- Oh, yeah.
- Interesting.
So, you're able to hear it, too? Yeah, sounds like walking.
The workers, when they were working in that car, they always said that there was something going on in the back, and I always kind of, "Oh, sure.
" In the back of it? Oh, that's where all these - sounds are coming from.
- Yeah.
So, this next piece, it was a female voice that showed up just out of the blue.
And it sounded like it came from in the car, as well.
Okay.
- Did you hear it? - Mm-hmm.
Yeah, you can hear veryaintly, but you hear it.
- Yeah, I heard it.
- You heard it.
Do you have any idea what it's sayi? Try it again.
Do it again.
Sounded like "you want" "you want" something.
So you're hearing two words, as well? Yeah.
To us, it sounded likeshe was", "she won" something.
Something like that.
- Something with yeah.
Listen to it again with that in your head and just see if maybe that's what you hear.
- "She was.
" - Yeah.
STEVE: "She was.
" You think so? - Yep.
- Yeah, it does sound like that.
So we have some other pieces to show you from the death car.
Mm-hmm.
We're trying to look for any explanation with the window that came down.
The one thing we did see is, just by, you know, tapping your hand, the vibration, it can come down.
But while we were messing with that, a voice appeared.
I want you to take a listen to it, get your take on it.
Okay.
JASON: By this right here.
- Did you hear that? - Mm-hmm.
Play it again for you.
By this right here.
I heard it, yeah.
How many words does it sound like to you? - Two.
Two words.
- Two? To us, it almost sounds like it says "leave it alone.
" - I heard it.
- Yeah.
Well, this next piece that we have is actually from the death car as well.
Mm-hmm.
And the same thing Seems to sound female.
Mm-hmm.
And, what to make of it, we're still scratching our heads.
JASON: All right, so, here you go.
STEVE: Doesn't make sense That does sound more residual.
I hear something, but I just can't make it out.
- Can you hear the voice, though? - Yeah.
Well, to us, it sounded like "Is it time to rest?" "Is it time to sleep," something to that nature.
We'll play it again.
When you traveled back in the time, you would buy a ticket for coach.
And if you wanted to sleep in your chair, you can.
Or, they had what you called a dormitory cars, and you could to that whenever you wanted to.
But, so, people staying in this car, a lot of them would have had another car to sleep in.
To go to sleep, yes.
So, then, saying "Is it time to rest now" or whatever - I guess that would be common.
- It would make a lot of sense.
That actually It just helps explain a lot to what we were trying to figure out.
Yeah, that's great.
And I know, you know, John, that you had a few concerns in terms of, you know, acquiring another train car that could have something attached to it.
Yeah.
We did find that, you know, the cars we had some experiences or had captured some evidence always seemed to have some degree of trauma, tragedy.
So I think it may come down to just a little research before your purchase.
Yes.
Well, if activity picks up again, you have any problems, give us a call.
We'd love to come back, - check it out again at some point.
- Sure.
Well, thank you very much for your time.
- Oh, thank you.
- We look forward to coming back at some point.
- Okay, thank you.
- Thanks for coming.
- All right, guys.
- Let's get out of here.
KORPOS: When I saw all the evidence and confirmed that not everybody here's crazy, that they are hearing something, and it kind of put a little more people at ease.
I don't think John will have anything to fear with buying another car from us.
I feel that TAPS have really helped me.
After I'd seen the evidence that Jason and Steve provided, I'm very relaxed now and calm that there's nothing really terrible that would happen to any cars that I do purchase.
JASON: So that went great.
It really did.
STEVE: Awesome.
It really did.
I mean, John realizes that he can get another train car and not have anything to worry about.
