Heartland (CA) s11e12 Episode Script
Out of the Shadow
1 GEORGIE: Previously, on "Heartland" VAL: About Georgie I don't think she wants this badly enough.
There is nothing Georgie wants more than to win the Fall Finale.
I'm gonna come to a training session.
I expect to be impressed.
I saw that lady who owns Flame talking to Dylan.
GEORGIE: So? WYATT: She wants Dylan to ride one of her horses.
That doesn't make any sense.
I'm just telling you what I heard.
No, you're trying to make it sound like Dylan's going after Flame.
Yeah well, that seems pretty obvious to me.
Yeah, you got my email about Jade Virani? I'd really like to see her in your program, Billy.
Well, you have better rodeo training, you got scholarship money.
This bird, what is it? It's a Saker Falcon.
I saw one this morning.
The bird's a warrior, a symbol of bravery.
Keep it to balance out the dark, and to remind yourself to be brave enough to let the light in.
(ECHOING THUD) (STIRRUP JINGLES) (GATE CLANGS, HORSE WHINNIES) (HORSE WHINNIES) TIM: That's it, Jade, keep spurring! (HORSE WHINNIES, JADE GRUNTS) Nice! Atta girl! (CLAPS) (HOOVES THUD) (HORSE WHINNIES) (JADE GRUNTS WITH EFFORT) Ah! Ah! Ah! Good job! (SIGHS) Nice.
Hey, that was a really good practice! - Thank you.
- Yeah.
Well, I wanted to tell you something, but I didn't want it to steal your focus there.
- But I've got some news.
- Okay.
I've got some great news, okay? Remember how I was talking about you - going to school down south? - Yeah Okay, well I called a coach, an old buddy of mine at a Texas college.
One of his kids dropped out of the program, a scholarship's become available, - and guess who they want? - Me? That's right.
Full ride.
All expenses paid.
Uh, but school starts next week.
Yeah, so? That's right, you better get packing! Ha ha! Uh, but I would have to I'd have to drop out of U of C, I really like it there.
You're not thinking of turning this down, are you? This is the opportunity of a lifetime.
- Well - I get it.
Too much information, too fast.
I know.
Okay, tell you what, you just let 'Er sink in.
I'll put the information on the school together, you just think about it overnight, we'll talk about it tomorrow, but this is great! I'm so proud of you! Okay.
Congratulations! Easy.
(SIGHS) (HOOVES THUD, FLAME SNORTS) AMY: You both seem a bit tight.
Just smoother approach next time.
(HOOVES THUD) Yeah, that's it! (SIGHS) Okay, look.
(HOOVES THUD) (FLAME SNORTS) (VAL SIGHS) Sorry, I couldn't find the distance.
- That's okay.
- No, it's not.
Not really.
They only get higher as the season goes on.
Yeah, but there's nothing wrong with knocking a few jumps in practice, that's all part of the process.
Right.
But this feels like a repeat of all the issues she was having with the Devil's Lake jump.
Yeah, but she jumped that fine in the competition.
In a rather pedestrian time, if you'll recall.
(CLAPS) That's right, you weren't there! I certainly hope your busy schedule isn't gonna continue to get in the way of our prep for the Fall Finale.
Georgie, something's gotta give here.
Coming in third just isn't gonna cut it.
When you're on my team you're first place, or you're no place.
End of story.
(SIGHS HEAVILY) (DOOR CREAKS OPEN) - Hey! - Ah, Georgie? Do you have your phone? 'Cause Tim wants your Mom in on this.
- Yeah, sure.
- Okay Grandpa, what is this whole family meeting about? I'm not sure, this is your Dad's deal.
- Really? - Tim: Hey.
Hey, guys.
Where's Georgie? - Hey, I'm right here.
- Okay, can you ah, can you get your Mom on the phone? - Yeah.
- Good, okay.
- Where's Ty? We need Ty.
- He's in Vancouver.
- What? - Dad, he's at his mum's, I told you this.
They're celebrating - her two years being sober.
- Right.
Right.
- Hey, Mom! - Lou: Hi, Georgie! - Hey, Lou! - Hi Honey, it's Dad.
LOU: I had to cancel a meeting, what's going on that's so important? Well, I have something I wanna tell everyone.
I was sitting on my porch this morning having a cup of coffee, looking at the fall colours, thinking about family, about life, about how important it is not to miss opportunities (SIGHS) I know, I-I don't talk like this normally.
LOU: No kidding, where are you going with this, Dad? Well I had an epiphany about your Mom.
About Marion.
It's been ten years since your Mom passed.
Wow.
Yeah, I guess it has been ten years.
I'd like to do something special, I think we should do another memorial ride, like we did years ago.
What do you think? Let's do it.
S11E12 Out of the Shadow And at the break of day you sank into your dream You dreamer Oh oh oh oh You dreamer You dreamer AMY: A memorial ride, I think that's a great idea, don't you, Grandpa? - Uh, yeah, yeah, I-I do.
- This Saturday.
- Yeah, I'm free.
- Yeah, totally.
LOU: Whoa, whoa, whoa, this Saturday? I can't drop everything on such short notice! Well, just take it off, Honey, it'll recharge your batteries.
Look I don't think another year should pass where we don't do something to remember your Mom.
And we all get caught up in our day to day routines, and we lose focus of what's important.
LOU: Well it is a great idea, and I was going to be back for my high school reunion next week anyway, so okay, I'll come back early.
Fantastic! That's great.
LOU: Okay, can't wait to see you Georgie, and everyone else.
- Yay, I'm coming home! - Okay, love you, Mom.
- Okay, safe flight.
- See 'ya, Lou.
- LOU: Gotta go, bye! - This is great.
Okay.
Awesome, I'm so glad she's coming home.
I need to get to Maggie's, I'm meeting Wyatt.
- Okay, you need a lift? - Yeah, that'd be awesome.
Okay, just wait, wait, wait, hold on! GEORGIE: So where are we going on this ride? AMY: Oh, it's so beautiful, you're gonna love it.
I don't want to keep beating the same drum - Then don't.
- Listen.
Amy and Lou, you need to talk to them.
So maybe this weekend might be that perfect chance.
Jack, this is about Marion.
(SIGHS) - Hey! Hi.
- Oh, hey.
- Sorry, I was distracted.
- No, it's okay.
- Everything all right? - Yeah, yeah, it's good.
Um, if you ask Tim, everything's great.
I actually got offered a rodeo scholarship.
- No way, that's awesome! - Yeah.
Um, but if I take it I have to move away.
Like, really far.
To Texas.
Oh, well, what are you gonna do? I don't know.
Um - I'll call you later, okay? - Yeah, sure.
(JADE SIGHS) (DOOR SLAMS) - Hey.
Check this out.
- Hey! Olivia's been posting all morning.
- About what? - The formal this weekend.
- Oh my god, poor Adam! - Yeah, I know, right? She's gotta chill out, it's just a dance.
Yeah, I can't think of anything I'd rather do less.
Really? Yeah, I mean, it's a competition to see who has the fanciest dress.
It's just really pretentious and lame.
Yeah, so lame.
No thanks.
(RAIN PATTERS) (CAR RUMBLES UP) Hey! Hey! - What are you doing here? - I just dropped Georgie off.
Oh! So did you talk to her about that dance? - No.
- What? Why not? Because, I just didn't get the chance.
- But you were just with her! - Yeah.
Well, I brought up the formal, and she just kinda thinks it's lame.
So Oh.
That's too bad.
You know, even a down to earth girl like Georgie does actually like to get dressed up once in a while.
How are you gonna know what she wants if you don't ask her? See you, okay? - I love you! - Aha.
- Ask her! - Mom, stop! (BIRDS CHIRP) (HOOVES THUD, TACK JINGLES) (ROSTER CROW IN THE DISTANCE) What's this? We're doing something different.
Okay.
We're going smaller, you know, lower jumps, no combinations, no lines, I don't want you to think about counting strides.
- That doesn't make any sense.
- You know, Georgie, you are gonna complete this course as fast as you can, make nice, sharp turns, and I think that sounds like fun.
Yeah, it actually does sound kinda fun.
Okay! We've been putting way too much pressure on ourselves.
And I think it's getting to us.
I mean, yes, this is hard work.
But we're also supposed to be enjoying it, right? - Yeah, sounds good to me.
- Okay, let's go! That's it, I wanna see you guys just having fun, relax! (FLAME SNORTS) Okay, don't think about it.
Just do it.
There you go! Nice! Oh, that was good, Georgie.
- Hey, Val.
- VAL: What's going on here? What's with the miniature course? We're just going back to the basics.
The basics? The Fall Finale has real jumps, remember? Yes, and we are working our way back to those.
Oh, well, that's good to hear, take your time! - Val - This is ridiculous! It's no wonder she's going backwards, Amy! I'm doing what I need to do to get them ready.
Can you please just trust me to do my job? (LYNDY CRIES) Oh, let me guess, time for another break? (LYNDY CRIES) (GATE CLANGS) (HOOVES THUD) You were uh, a little scattered out there today.
Yeah, of course, I have this stupid scholarship hanging over my head! Stupid? I just, I don't want to talk about it, okay? All right.
Jade, can I tell you a little story? (SIGHS) Okay.
When I was about your age there was a big trucking company down south, and they ran a rodeo series.
They were looking for one cowboy to sponsor.
Be the face of the whole thing.
And it was big money.
But it meant being away from everything.
For an entire season.
Let me guess, you didn't take it, it was the biggest mistake of your life No, my friend turned it down.
And I took it.
And it was incredible.
But, I was away from home for a year.
And that was hard.
But my career took off after that.
And I think every buckle that I ever won was on account of that experience.
Well, what happened to your friend? He got a job.
A good job at a grain elevator.
I think he's probably still there.
But he never had to be homesick, right? Look Val, I know it looks like we're goofing around in there, but I needed that, Jumping hasn't been much fun lately.
At this level, Georgie, the fun is in accomplishing all the goals you set out for yourself.
Winning.
Well, that is the point of all of this.
And with a horse like Flame, I'm giving you every opportunity.
But I think I made a mistake.
Oh! No, I'm not blaming you, this is all my fault.
I should've found a real trainer for you - right from the get-go.
- A real trainer? (SIGHS) Amy is amazing at what she does.
But this is so specialized, and she's obviously distracted.
- Well yeah, she has a baby.
- Exactly.
Being a new mom's a lot of work, I get it.
I wish I didn't have to, but I think I need to let Amy go.
No, Amy's my trainer.
I knew this was going to upset you, but now I need you to be able to separate your personal feelings from the business of jumping.
This isn't supposed to be a job.
(SIGHS) Look.
I feel I have to make a change.
If you can't deal with that, maybe I have to look for a new rider, as well.
(CAR DOOR OPENS, SLAMS SHUT) Hey, why'd you bring him in? (GROANS) I don't feel like doing this right now.
Look, you can't let Val get to you, Georgie.
It's kinda hard not to do that.
I know she can be a bit much.
Okay? But she's not gonna change.
So if you wanna keep riding Flame, then Val's expectations are something you have to put up with.
Yeah, well, I'm starting to wonder if it's worth it.
Hey, we can deal with her.
She went on and on after you left! About what? Oh I don't know, just the same, but it's getting exhausting.
Okay, we'll take a break, but we're gonna get back at it this afternoon.
Georgie! - (SIGHS) - (LYNDY COOS) Can you believe she wants to get rid of Amy? - No, that's super harsh.
- I know! I haven't told her yet, I don't know what I'm gonna say.
Well, maybe you don't have to say anything, maybe just kick butt in practice, and you can show Val that Amy's the right coach for you by clearing all the jumps.
You make it sound like it's easy.
No, I know it's not, but I also know you can do it.
I wish I was as positive as you are.
(CELL PHONE CHIMES) It's Olivia again.
Posting about the formal? Yeah, yeah, it hasn't stopped.
But, forget about her.
I actually I-I think it could be kind of fun, and I was actually thinking about going myself, and I was wondering if you wanted to go with me? Honestly, it's not really my thing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I just hope you're not trying to save face.
- What do you mean by that? - It's just you don't have to be some uppity girl like Olivia to enjoy it.
I just mean don't feel embarrassed if you wanna go.
It's not that I'm against going.
It has nothing to do with Olivia.
The truth is, I I'm worried about giving you the wrong idea.
I mean, we're just friends.
I know.
I know.
I get it.
So do you just wanna go as friends, then? Okay, as long as we're clear.
Crystal.
Ah! JACK: (KNOCKING) Amy, look who I found! Hello! I'm home! Hello! - Welcome, Lou! - Aw! It's so good to be back.
And you! You just keep getting more and more beautiful every time I see you! Yes, you do! Oh! Okay, now I'm glad Dad demanded I come back.
He really is keyed up to do this ride, hey? Yeah, you know, Dad really hasn't been "Dad" lately.
Yeah, I've noticed that, too.
Why do you think it's suddenly so important to him? Oh, pfft! I gave up trying to get inside your Dad's head a long time ago.
I'll just take your bags up to the house.
Okay Hmm.
(HORSE WHINNIES) So I picked Lou up at the airport.
Good.
Well, I'm I'm glad the whole family's gonna be together.
How is she? Well, she thinks something's up.
And so does Amy.
You know, this secret you're holding onto, you need to face it, Tim, we all need to face it together.
Or what? - You're gonna tell 'em? - No, I didn't say that.
But I am starting to feel like I'm lying to my own family.
Anyway just thought you should know.
(DOOR OPENS AND SHUTS) - Mom! Hey! - Hi! - Oh, I'm so glad you're home.
- Me too, Sweetie, I missed you! This ride is gonna be so much fun.
Yeah! I'm just planning our family dinner for afterwards.
Oh wow, it looks delicious, but I'm not gonna be here.
What? Why not? Um, don't make a big deal out of it, but Wyatt asked me to this formal thing.
Oh, that sounds fun.
Does that mean you two are - No, we're just friends.
- Okay.
Uh, but you still need a dress.
No, I already have a dress.
The one I wore to that BBQ with Amy.
That was a summer dress, Georgie, you need something new, something that's gonna make a splash.
We could go shopping this afternoon.
No, I-I can't, I have a training session I can't miss, Val's been all over me lately.
It's just one training session.
Mm.
No, she has me seriously stressed out, Mom.
Well, that's not good, you want to talk about it? - It's okay, later.
- Okay.
But you still need a dress.
It's too bad Katie's away in Vancouver, she'd love to help me with that.
Can I go get you a dress on my own, please? - Okay, knock yourself out.
- All right.
- All right, gotta go.
- See you in a bit.
Yeah.
I got your text, here I am.
What is this about? Well, I think you were right, Getting back to the basics was exactly what I needed.
I wanted to show Val how much it's helped us.
All right, let's see.
Okay, bud.
(CLUCKS TONGUE) (FLAME SNORTS) (HOOVES THUD, TACK JINGLES) That's it! Nice! (HOOVES THUD, TACK JINGLES) - Come on! - Stay relaxed.
(FLAME SNORTS) (HOOVES THUD) (FLAME PANTS) (CLUNK, THUDS) (SIGHS HEAVILY) Well I guess taking time out of your training for a little bit of fun wasn't the answer, huh? Come on Val, that's not fair.
No, don't-don't bother, Amy.
Nothing about this is fun anymore.
Every time I'm going up to that jump all I can picture is how mad you'll be if I miss it, or that you'll fire Amy on the spot.
Okay, let's not No, she wants to find a new trainer.
And I'm not okay with that.
The problem isn't Amy, and it's not Flame.
And it's not me, either.
The problem is you, Val.
You're the reason this isn't working.
Really? You wanna blame me for all this? No, what I'm saying is I can't do this anymore.
So find a new trainer, and a new rider, because I'm done.
I quit.
(KNOCK) - Come in.
(DOOR CREAKS OPEN) How are you doing? I didn't sleep very well last night.
I'm really gonna miss jumping Flame.
Are you thinking about going back to Val? No! I can't stand her.
I think I did the right thing, but it still sucks.
I don't normally support quitting on anything, but in this case I'm really proud of you.
Thanks.
Is that the dress? - You wanna see it? - Yes! I really hope you like it.
It's beautiful, how much did you spend on this? Don't worry, your Mom knows how to find a bargain.
Why don't you try it on? Yeah, I'll be down in a minute.
(RECEDING FOOTSTEPS THUD) Okay, pancakes are ready! Wow, what's all this? I thought this was appropriate, I used to make these for your mother.
It was pretty much the only thing I did make.
Anyway, we should have a good breakfast before this ride.
(APPROACHING FOOTSTEPS THUD) Oh Sweetheart, you look so grown up! - You look beautiful.
- Thanks! Now, why don't you run upstairs and change, okay? - Yeah.
- Come down, - grab some pancakes.
- Sure.
Jack, would you take over for me, please? I'm gonna get the horses tacked up.
Let's get this show on the road! (DOOR CREAKS OPEN) (TIM GRUNTS) (HORSE SNORTS) (HORSE SNORTS) (COIN JINGLES) (SIGHS) - Hey, Jen! - Hey.
Thank you so much for looking after Lyndy.
Her schedule, and everything's in the kitchen.
Yeah, don't worry, we'll be fine.
- Okay - And you know I'll be around too, just in case that kid needs to be hog-tied into a diaper, or whatever.
(JEN LAUGHS) - Hey.
- Hey! How was the diner this morning? - Great! Busy.
- Good.
- Hey.
- Hey.
- I will see you later.
- Okay.
So I uh, I brought Venus over from the dude ranch.
- You didn't have to do that.
- I know, but she's your favourite horse to ride, so Thank you.
Come on.
(CLUCKS TONGUE) (FOLIAGE RUSTLES IN THE WIND) (HORSE WHINNIES SOFTLY) (HOOVES CLOP) Not many rides like this in New York City.
(LAUGHS) No.
- I miss it.
- Riding? Everything.
It's like you said, you won't be there forever.
Yeah I know.
Boy, your Mom would've been so proud of you.
I don't know, she wasn't exactly thrilled when I went to New York the first time.
Well, no one wants to see their child move away.
That doesn't mean she wasn't proud of everything you've accomplished.
And she was.
Trust me.
You go on up ahead and join Dad.
You two should be leading this thing.
Right.
(HORSE WHINNIES) GEORGIE: So what was she like? Your Mom.
You would've loved her.
She was a really strong person.
And so passionate about horses.
Yeah! But she was always there for us.
If we needed to be picked up.
Or if we needed a good swift kick in the butt, - she was there for that, too.
- Yeah! She was not afraid to speak her mind, but she always had our back.
Always.
She was a lot like you, actually.
Like what you did the other day, quitting on Val to protect me.
That means a lot, but that's not the reason I quit, not-not entirely.
Well, I appreciate you trying to protect me.
And I love coaching you Georgie, but maybe Val's right, maybe someone else could take you further.
No, that's not true, you're a great coach.
But I didn't quit for you, I quit for me.
It feels so good just to ride again out here with Phoenix.
Just doing what I love to do.
(LOU CHUCKLES) (HOOVES THUD IN THE FOLIAGE) (FOLIAGE RUSTLES IN THE WIND) (BIRDS CHIRP) (TACK JINGLES) (BIRDS CALL) JACK: Tim, listen, uh thanks for this, this was a really great idea.
Yeah Boy, every time I come up here, it reminds me of when Marion was just a girl.
She was always off riding on a trail somewhere.
One time Lyndy and I lost track of her for an entire day, boy, we looked everywhere.
And I finally found her way up here, just staring out at all this.
She said she was up here for hours already, almost in a daze.
She thought this was the most beautiful place on earth.
This is Marion's spot.
And to stand here now, looking out, at all these mountains, and I can almost feel her right here with me.
There's something I need to say.
Because being here brings back different feelings for me.
Feelings of pain, guilt.
I'm sure that Marion spent countless hours here.
Trying to figure out just what was wrong with her husband.
How she was gonna keep our young family together.
Mm, I hurt her.
And she did not deserve it.
I know what I put you through, Marion.
What I put our family through.
And today's not about looking back, it's about moving forward.
But I need you to know that I worked hard on my recovery.
And there was just one piece of that program that I was too afraid to finish.
I-I just couldn't say I was sorry.
Not to you.
So I wanna say it today.
(SIGHS TEARFULLY) I wanna say it in front of our family.
Marion I'm sorry.
I'm so sorry.
For everything.
(SOBS) (ALL CRYING QUIETLY) (FOLIAGE RUSTLES IN THE WIND) (HAWK SCREECHES) Hey.
- Oh my god, what time is it? - It's uh, exactly the time I said I'd pick you up.
I'm sorry, I guess the ride went longer than I thought.
Nice suit, you look good, I'll-I'll get changed.
Okay well, um, hold on, hold on, hold on.
As much as I would love to see your dress, maybe I should get changed.
I've got jeans and a t-shirt in the car.
- Seriously? - Yeah, yeah.
I've got like, half my life in the trunk of the car.
No, I mean, why would you get changed? I can see you're enjoying your time with Phoenix, so get him tacked up, get me a horse, - and we'll go for a ride.
- Really? Well, what would be more fun? Comparing dresses with Olivia at formal, or watching the sun set on horseback? (SIGHS) (SIGHS) (APPROACHING FOOTSTEPS) What are you doing here all by yourself? Some people have a spot.
A place they go to uh contemplate their thoughts.
And I guess this is mine.
The rodeo.
It's given me some of my biggest highs.
And lows.
But just being here makes me feel alive.
Yeah, me too.
I know you're struggling with this decision about whether to take the scholarship or not, and I understand.
Just let me know either way.
I won't be disappointed if you say no.
Well, I've decided.
(SIGHS) I'm gonna go.
Really? (LAUGHS) Everything I've learned here, everything I've learned from you, can't go to waste.
And you're right.
It's something I need to do.
You won't regret it.
Well, I leave tomorrow, so, I gotta go pack.
Jade, stop by here.
Okay? Tomorrow, before you leave? Okay.
Is there something you're not telling me? - About what? The school? - No, about you.
You're sitting here all by yourself, it's pretty weird.
It just seems like over the last little while, you just, you haven't been yourself.
(SIGHS) I'm good.
Okay.
(SIGHS HEAVILY) (BIRDS CHIRP) - TIM: Hey! Hi.
- Hey.
Just wanted to see how you two were doing.
Better now.
A pretty emotional day, Dad, what you said up there.
Yeah.
Well, I meant every word of it.
It was beautiful, Dad.
Yeah, I was trying to figure out what that Shaman meant.
What, Altan? What did he say to you? When he said that I had a shadow hanging over me.
You know, I think that that had to do with your mother.
When did you see a Shaman? You know, I realized I can't bury things.
Not anymore, it's not good for me, it's it's not good for anyone.
I need to tell you something.
And I don't want you to panic.
Dad, what is this about? I went in for a check up.
And Dr.
Virani had me get an MRI on my brain.
- What? Why would you do that? - You got an MRI? Just just a sec.
They found something, but it could be nothing.
Or it could be bad.
- How bad? - We don't know yet.
We're gonna stay positive.
- Hey.
- Hey.
I couldn't sleep last night.
How are you doing? You heard what Dad said, it's probably nothing.
Yeah, but we don't know that, I mean, what if it's It's not.
Amy, but what if it is? I mean, what is that gonna mean? Lou we can't obsess about the "what ifs", okay? You heard Dad, he's gonna be fine.
(LYNDY WAILS) - I I need to go.
- Okay, go.
(LYNDY CRIES) (FOOTSTEPS THUD) JACK: Morning, Lou! What's wrong? You know about Dad? - He told you.
- Yeah.
And I've been away.
I-I haven't even been here for him.
I'm sure he's gonna I don't wanna hear that he's gonna be okay, Grandpa.
I just want I don't know what I want.
I'm scared, Grandpa, I can't lose him! (SOBBING) I'm scared! (SOBS) (CAR RUMBLES UP) (ENGINE SHUTS OFF) - Hey, Tim told me you were going.
- Hey.
Yeah look, I'm sorry I didn't call, I it's just um you're like, one of my best friends, and I thought that if we talked, it might make me wanna not go.
You don't need to explain, I just came to do this.
- For good luck.
- Come here, kid.
(BOTH SIGH) - I'll see you soon.
- Yeah.
Okay, I'm here, but I don't have a lot of time because my Mom's driving me to the airport, so Okay, thanks for coming.
I won these as saddle bronc champ, Calgary Stampede.
I've worn 'em in every rodeo since.
They're yours now.
Thank you, for everything.
Well, you earned it.
- I'm gonna miss you.
- Yeah, me too.
And I'm-I'm proud of you.
Okay! You don't have to squeeze me so hard! I'll be back for Christmas break.
Okay, right.
You better call me before then, though.
Okay.
I wanna know what's going on down there.
I will.
Bye.
(SIGHS) Bye.
(TRUCK RUMBLES, TIRES CRUNCH) Hey Georgie, any idea why there's a Westfield trailer here? (DOOR OPENS) Hey, your trailer showed up at Heartland - to pick up Flame, why?! - Okay, I can explain.
You're riding him now, is that it? Wow, was Wyatt ever right about you! - Oh yeah? - Yeah! He said you were angling for this the whole time! I can't believe I trusted you! Yeah, I heard back from my vet.
He's putting Arrow on stall rest until the end of the season, I wasn't angling on anything.
But somebody needs to jump Flame in the Fall Finale.
You're the one who quit! You got exactly what you were after.
No.
Not yet.
I want to win this thing.
(RECEDING FOOTSTEPS) (DOOR OPENS AND SHUTS) Dylan's riding Flame now, that's why his trailer was here.
Wow, Val didn't waste any time, did she? Yeah, I'm so mad at both of them, I don't know what I'm gonna do.
I think I have an idea.
I was watching you and Phoenix on the ride yesterday.
You two still have quite the connection.
(SIGHS) Yeah, of course we do.
We basically arrived here together.
Wouldn't it be cool if you could win the Fall Finale with him? What? Georgie, you don't have to give up on your dream.
You just need to find the right horse.
- You'd train us? - I think you're stuck with me.
Okay, yeah, let's do it, let's beat Val and Dylan! - Great, we'll start tomorrow.
- Okay! - Hey! - Hey.
Just the two girls I was looking for.
Really? All the reminiscing about your Mom brought back a memory for me, from when you were a baby.
(CHUCKLES) There's something I think you and I should do together.
(SWING CREAKS) (CHILDREN SHOUT PLAYFULLY) - Boo! - Oh my god! - Hi.
- Hi.
So, you were right about Dylan.
He's riding Flame now.
Oh, I'm sorry, but I'm not surprised, it It's okay.
It's it's fine, just forget about him.
I'm gonna ride Phoenix in the Fall Finale.
- That's great! - Yeah.
Yeah is that why you wanted to meet me? You wanted to uh, tell me that stuff? No, I I wanted to say that I had a really great time yesterday.
The ride was amazing, and I'm I'm glad that you get me.
Yeah, yeah, I had a lot of fun, too.
I always do when we hang out.
Yeah, me too.
I also came here to do this.
I think that you were just about this age when Marion and I did this with you.
(LAUGHS) Yeah! What do you think, Lyndy? (LYNDY COOS, LAUGHS) Your very first horse ride! Good job! She's so good.
(LYNDY LAUGHS) It's the little things, little things Little Don't let them pass you by
There is nothing Georgie wants more than to win the Fall Finale.
