Heartland (CA) s13e07 Episode Script

The Art of Trust

1 AMY: Previously on "Heartland" Congratulations, Georgie.
Quinn! What're you doing here? I've always enjoyed doing business with you, so maybe we should talk about getting your new product in my stores.
Wow, that, that'd be great.
He didn't waste any time.
Could you not leave your toothbrush out on the sink? - It's disgusting.
- Hey, you.
You have been so rude to Luke since we got home.
- What's going on? - He got Georgie's room.
You are an incredible jumper, and you are an incredible person.
That's why I'm here.
- Then you've wasted your time.
- All right.
(SPARTAN GRUNTS) (BLOWS OUT HER BREATH) (WOMAN SIGHS, HORSE GRUNTS) Ho Okay, boy, you ready for your big finale? (SPARTAN NICKERS) Up! (SPARTAN NICKERS) (SIGHS) Come on, boy.
(SIGHS) Spartan.
- (LOW GROWL) - Whoa, boy, whoa.
Steady Canvas, come on.
(LOW GROWL) Canvas! Come on, let's go! Whoa! Agh! Ungh! And at the break of day You sank into your dream You dreamer Oh, oh, oh, oh You dreamer You dreamer (CHUCKLES) Hey, boy, you're okay.
We all have our off days.
Come on.
(CLUCKS HER TONGUE, PHONE BUZZES) Scott, hey! Um, this weekend? I don't know.
Yeah.
Who's the client? (EXCITED CHUCKLE) Yeah, when Scott said her name, I honestly got shivers.
Yeah, imagine that, Jane Morrison.
- Yeah.
- What am I missing? - Who's this woman? - Uh, Jane is Scott's client.
- She's the artist.
- Who? The one that Ty and Scott were visiting when they got - Her?! No way! - in the plane crash.
No, you're getting in a busted-up bush plane Dad, it's okay.
Jane's having an art retreat just outside of town this weekend, and she's asked me to come and work with her horse.
And I get to stay for free in one of the cabins she's booked for the event.
Wow! - That sounds kind of amazing.
- I know! And it's kind of perfect timing too, since Lyndy and Ty are visiting Ty's mom.
Hey, Tim, we gotta go.
We can't be late for Garland.
Yeah, right.
We gotta get to Garland before that traitor Mitch becomes his new poster boy.
- Good morning, Dad.
- For some maybe.
You know what, I am so over this fight.
Agreed.
Well, I better get to work.
We'll see you guys in a bit.
Bye.
Oh, I should too.
Uh Quinn's horse goes out today and then I've got that cross-country event.
Can (PHONE RINGS) Oh, and - Yes, I got it.
- This thing won't stop going.
Hello? Yes, I'm coming.
I'm coming.
Luke just used up all the maple syrup! No, I didn't! There was barely any left anyways.
Sharing.
It's a thing.
Look it up.
(HARD THUNK) What is with this family and arguing? It's an epidemic.
But you know what? I can cure you two of it at least.
Just you watch.
No, no.
I look, you know what? I'm gonna have to call you back about this, all right? Yes, soon.
I will.
Thank you.
All right.
Well, everything looks in order.
Let's get this boy to Florida, shall we? And our fillies can't wait to meet him.
- Oh! - Just thought I would come and, you know, see this stud off.
How nice.
(PHONE RINGS) Oh, sorry.
Excuse me, please.
Yes? Uh-huh.
Hey.
Ouch.
Really? Is that all I get? LISA: Okay, thank you.
More issues with this cross-country race.
I swear it is cursed! You know, I can deal with this if you want.
Really? I mean, I, I have reviewed all the paperwork, so you'd just need to be my eyes at the airport.
Would you be comfortable with that? - Yeah, totally.
- I can do it! No problem.
- Thank you.
Thank you.
- Okay.
- Look at you, boss lady.
- Stop.
This is the first time Lisa's given me any actual responsibility, okay? I need to focus.
Are you suggesting I'm a distraction? (SIGHS) - I miss you guys.
- We miss you, too.
But it's pretty great that you get to meet Jane.
I know.
I can't wait to put a face to that painting.
Yeah, it's pretty special.
You know, bringing that painting home to you is one of the things that kept me going after the crash.
I always felt like I should pay Jane back for that somehow.
Now you're going to.
- Well, hopefully.
- You will.
And I'm glad you finally get to take some time away.
When's the last time you did that? Our camping trip and Mongolia.
(LAUGHS) Well, then you're definitely due for a vacation.
(LAUGHING) All right, well, thanks for the ride.
Hey, wait.
Can can we just cut the company manners for a second? Quinn, right? Uh, yes, sir.
Just wanted to, uh, properly introduce myself.
I'm Tim Fleming.
I'm Georgie's grandfather.
Well, it's great to meet you, Mr.
Fleming.
So, you're the guy.
(CHUCKLES) Interesting.
Listen, we're just about to eat dinner, so why don't you join us, give us a chance to get to know you a little better.
Oh, no, no, no, no.
Quinn's-Quinn's busy.
- He's got um - You know what? I'd love to.
He'd love to! - (SIGHS) - Great.
So park over there and we'll see you inside.
This'll be fun.
So, I've decided I'm gonna take Spartan with me to the retreat, and then that way I can go on some trail rides while Jane is teaching her art classes.
Well, I'm glad you're going because every mom deserves some "me time.
" Sounds like you're taking a little "me time" yourself there, Quinn.
But why you'd choose Hudson for your vacation (CHUCKLES) - Why not? - Someone like you? With a famous family, lots of money to burn? Your dad was an Olympic show jumper, right? Yes, my dad was.
Yeah, I know, I did my research.
Well, then I'm sure you also know that my time here hasn't just been vacation.
Thanks to Lisa, I found a stud horse for my family's equestrian facility in Well In Wellington, Florida.
Almost as big as Spruce Meadows.
Well, I don't know about that.
It is.
I know.
I read the articles.
So, you got your horse, now what're gonna do? Quinn, why don't you tell us a little bit about how you and Georgie met at the, - uh, training program.
- Oh, Mom, no-nobody wants to know.
Come on.
Well, it's a pretty short story, actually.
I saw Georgie jump on her first day and I'd never seen anything quite like it.
I decided that I just had to know her.
When did you say you were leaving again? I didn't.
And I'm actually not sure.
I'm just waiting on a couple of things to hopefully come together.
Well, you're welcome anytime here, Quinn.
That is, unless those things you just mentioned come too close together.
So dinner was really great.
That was not dinner.
That was the gauntlet.
BOTH: (LAUGH) Hey, it's still pretty early.
Can you spare an hour or two? If I passed my Heartland initiation, that is.
You know what? You held your own.
I'm actually pretty impressed.
I aim to please.
Let's get Phoenix trailered up.
I got an idea.
Hi.
Yeah? What do you got there? This is an article on that artist Jane and her retreat, and it sounds amazing.
You don't have to know anything about art.
It's for beginners.
And I wanna go.
Tomorrow, with you.
(GROANS) Are you kidding me? No, I'm not kidding.
I'm burnt out, and we need a break.
And I know you do because of this Mitch business.
And it, and it just sounds terrific, and I know the food will be delicious.
I'm sorry, Lise, but that's just not me.
I called and they have one little cottage left, and they have amazing fishing right nearby.
So I could paint, you can fish, and then we could have our nights alone together in this cute little cottage, and I will bring some of the wine that you love from Tuscany.
Doesn't sound too terrible.
I guess I could suffer through a little fishing.
- Mm-hmm.
- Okay, count me in.
Consider it booked.
- It already is, isn't it? - Yes, it is, yes.
Yes, it is.
(CHUCKLES) Are we really doing this? Oh, come on.
How can you look at Lisa's brand new cross-country course and not wanna jump it? Besides, I've been wondering where that girl I knew in Europe got to.
My guess is I'll find her out there.
(BREATHING HARD) - Good boy.
- You know what? - I definitely missed that.
- What? That smile.
The one you always get after clearing a jump.
Okay, I guess I have missed jumping a lot more than I thought, okay? And he has too, huh, boy? Then why'd you give it up? You're too good just to walk away like that.
(SIGHS) Okay, maybe I don't wanna quit jumping completely, but I don't wanna put a lot of pressure on myself right now.
I just wanna have fun this summer.
I don't wanna take anything too seriously.
Including me? Okay.
I mean, I'll take what I can get here.
If that's what you want, works for me.
So you're cool if we just roll with things for a while? Try not to define anything? What do you think? (BIRDS CHIRP, CREEK FLOWS) Isn't this place gorgeous? Perfect.
This was such a good idea! (LAUGHING) - Amy? - Jane.
Thank you so much for coming.
It's my pleasure.
Honestly.
This is my grandpa.
- Jack.
Yes, hello.
- Hi there.
- And you must be Lisa.
- I am.
Hi.
Welcome.
I have a few more guests to greet, then you and I can get down to work.
- Absolutely.
- I'm so looking forward to it.
Please, make yourselves at home.
Thank you.
So? Happy? I can feel the stress melting away already.
CALEB: No! Seriously?! - What're the odds? - Caleb.
- I don't believe it.
- What're you guys doing here? Well, I'm a huge fan of Jane's work, and when I heard about her workshop, I thought it'd be a fun thing for Caleb and I to do together.
Yup.
You ready to make some terrible art? You have at 'er.
I'll be fishing.
Fishing! Sign me up! You brought an extra rod, right? Hey, there's a show jumping competition tomorrow and I think that you should enter.
Tiny local thing.
Super easy, zero competition.
Besides, it'd get you back in that proverbial saddle.
Did it look like I needed help yesterday? Definitely not.
Okay, I'm in.
(CHUCKLES) Today, we are gonna be painting our feelings, so that we can show, and not tell, them to each other.
Katie, why don't you start and, um, pick a colour that you feel represents your mood.
Black? That No, you know what? That's valid.
Very valid.
(CLEARS THROAT) Luke, what do you pick? - I guess, blue? - Okay, great.
Why? I dunno.
Cuz it's my favourite? - 'Kay.
- That's not what this is about.
Didn't you listen? You can't feel blue.
Uh, yes, I can.
It's like a saying.
Whatever, you know what I mean.
You know what? Why don't we just put some of these feelings - down on the paper.
- At least I picked - an actual colour.
- Black's a colour! It's a shade! Ask my art teacher.
Okay, everyone pick up a paintbrush.
Thank you.
- (SIGHS HEAVILY) - Black's a colour.
(HOOVES THUD, PHOENIX GRUNTS) (RAIL THUDS) Ooh! Yikes! I am out of practice.
I've completely lost my eye.
You gotta give it more than five minutes.
Hey, guys! - Hey! - What's going on here? Georgie's agreed to jump in a show tomorrow.
What?! Really?! That's wow! No, it's really not that big a deal.
- It's just a local thing.
- Not that big a deal.
This is your first time jumping since coming home! This is huge! We're all gonna be there, right guys? What could be better than rallying together for Georgie's big comeback, right? Thankfully, I got away with just a few bruises, but Canvas I think that cougar traumatized him.
He's become so unpredictable and edgy.
I hope you can work your magic, Amy.
Hmm.
Well, he seems like a really great horse.
Confident and steady.
I'd love to see you ride him.
Okay.
Honestly, I don't see a problem.
You two work perfectly together.
You're in sync, he's calm.
Well, this area's predictable.
There's nothing here to spook him.
When we're on the trails, it's a different story.
Okay.
Well, let's go for a trail ride and then I can see what you mean.
No, I can't.
I mean I'd like to, but my class starts soon.
Feel free to take Canvas out yourself.
I'm sure you'll see how erratic he's been acting.
Yeah, okay.
(RIVER FLOWS) CALEB: Finally! There you are! Caleb, you found me.
There's a rod right there.
Help yourself.
Oh.
Uh 'kay.
(HUMMING TUNELESSLY) Is there a problem? No, no problem.
Just it's been a little while since I fished.
Great.
(ROD WHOOSHES) (LINE UNWINDS) (ANNOYED GROWL) All right.
Grab the rod Uh, oops! You know, Caleb, I'm thinking you might be better off doing the painting thing.
No.
No way.
I don't get it, then.
Why did you even agree to go on this trip? Cass and I have tried to focus less on the baby stuff and more on just spending time together, but lately it's been an awful lot of time.
It seems like there's a plan every weekend and I sorta go along with it.
- I see.
- Gotta admit, it's nice to have a little guy time.
Does that make me a terrible husband? Nope.
Just a terrible fisherman.
(SIGHS HEAVILY) Painting is about feeling.
About capturing motion and emotion.
So, during this workshop, I'd like you to focus less on what you see and more on how what you see makes you feel.
So, let's dive right in.
Uh, actually, let's talk about composition.
- (PHONE RINGS) - Oh, sorry.
Oh, shoot.
Excuse me.
This better be good.
(HOOVES THUD HEAVILY, RAIL THUNKS) I am officially in panic mode.
We are completely out of practice and out of sync.
I'm not ready for the horse show tomorrow.
I actually have a few pointers.
I don't know how I feel about you playing coach.
Agreed! So how about I just make some casual suggestions you can take or leave? (SIGHS) Okay.
(PHOENIX GRUNTS, GEORGIE CLUCKS HER TONGUE) All right, hey, try to open up your stride a little bit.
That'll, that'll loosen things up.
(HOOVES THUD) (RAIL THUNKS) Or not.
I'm sorry, it's just not how I was trained.
And when I'm this rusty, I need to stick to what I know.
Come on, where's that confidence I saw on the cross-country course? I think I left that in Europe.
No, I'm not buying it.
Okay, just trust me.
Take a risk.
You could be Olympic level.
I do not say that about a lot of riders, including myself.
(PHONE RINGS) That's mine.
It's Lisa.
Hello? What? No, that's not possible.
Yeah, I did, I did everything you told me to.
Okay, I will head to Fairfield right away then.
Okay.
Bye.
Your stud horse is missing in transit and apparently it's my fault.
QUINN: No, the flight left yesterday morning.
I understand that you weren't on duty, sir, but No.
That's fine, I'll call back.
I am in so much trouble.
Hey, we'll find the horse, all right? I mean, he's gotta be somewhere.
Unless he flew over the Bermuda Triangle or something, then yeah, we're totally screwed.
What you said earlier about not being Olympic level.
Do you really believe that? Uh my dad he's a champion, uh, and he knows what it takes to win doesn't think I have it.
Yeah, he's probably right.
- But you're good, Quinn.
- Correct.
Good.
Not great.
My dad didn't think I made enough progress in Europe so that program was kind of my last shot.
Now, he wants me to give it all up, join the family business and rah, rah, rah.
- You can't just quit jumping.
- I don't want to.
But unless I'm bringing home the gold anytime soon, that's that.
And that's why it's so hard for me to just watch you choose to walk away.
Because I know that I'm never gonna be "it".
But I see it in you.
You've got a real gift, Georgie, and that's a gift that no amount of money can actually ever buy and and I love that about you.
So what are you gonna do? I dunno.
Keep jumping as much as I can.
Do odd jobs for my family and keep my dad happy.
Hopefully that'll be enough to keep me off his radar.
Hey.
This is it.
I got it.
This is only a flight to Toronto.
There's no connecting flight to Florida.
Look who signed off on it.
Lisa Stillman.
What?! The horse is where?! How?! My signat?! Um, okay.
Thank you for telling me.
I'm sorry to put all this on you.
Okay, honey.
I-I-I really appreciate you handling this.
It's okay.
We'll take it nice and easy.
You're a good boy, Canvas.
Yeah.
(CANVAS NICKERS) (CLUCKS HER TONGUE, SHARP GROWL) (AMY GASPS) (GROWLING) (SHALLOW BREATHS) It's okay.
(MOUNTAIN LION GROWLS) You're a good boy.
(CANVAS NICKERS) You're okay.
So, I've done a little research and I found this awesome exercise called a "trust walk".
Luke, you're gonna be blindfolded and Katie is gonna act as "guide", okay? But there's a trick.
You can't guide by touch.
Only by words.
So this is an exercise in trust and in working as a team, okay? So Luke has to do what I tell him.
Uh, well, yes, but you have to tell him the right instructions.
So go ahead and give Luke a little spin to disorient him.
Honey, what's all this? Well, since you and grandpa are too busy fighting with Mitch to set a good example for the younger generation, I've taken matters into my own hands.
Finally gonna get Luke and Katie to bond through exercises in listening and in trusting.
He's gonna be sick.
Oh, Katie, okay, enough! Stop! Are you, Luke, you good? You okay? (NAUSEOUS MOAN) Okay.
(SIGHS) Anyway, before I forget, are you free tomorrow? Georgie has a competition.
What? Georgie's jumping again? Yeah, thanks to Quinn.
I mean, you may not like him, but he's growing on me.
- Agh! Ungh! - (AMUSED) Huh.
All right, can it be my turn now? - Good luck.
- (DISAPPROVING EXHALE) All right, we're gonna take three strides with an oxer, not four.
Stay light on his back.
She's amazing, right? She was amazing long before you started barking orders at her, buddy.
Oh, come on, Mr.
Fleming, we both know Georgie doesn't take orders from anyone.
I was so quick to blame Georgie, and it was me the entire time.
I'm just mortified.
It's over and done now.
The horse is found.
The mistake's been fixed.
It was a mistake that should not have been made! You need to stop worrying, come on.
I think I think I need to face facts.
I've taken on too much.
I'm overwhelmed, and I'm I'm making mistakes.
I'm tired.
I think I should consider retirement.
What? You're too young for that.
Honestly I've always pictured doing it on the early side.
And, and before we met, I thought I would be living full time in France by now.
What do you think? Would you consider retirement? CALEB: Hey, guys! Want some company? - Hi! - Hey! (SIGHS HEAVILY) So how are the art classes going? Oh, fine.
I think we're all a little disappointed that Jane's not painting with us.
Honestly, if I'd known Jane wasn't gonna paint, I wouldn't have signed up.
I know.
You seen some of her latest pieces? I mean, her style has completely changed.
Yeah, it's like more abstract or something, right? Yeah.
So where are we gonna head out tomorrow? Wha wait.
You're not coming to class? No.
Um is that not okay? Well, I, I mean, fishing was a one-time deal.
(SIGHS) Cass art's just not my thing.
(UNAMUSED LAUGH) Well, maybe I'm not either.
(SIGHS HEAVILY) 'Scuse me.
- Jane? - Amy! How'd it go today? Make any progress? Honestly, no, not a lot.
But I think I might know why.
Something came to me over dinner.
You never know when inspiration will strike, huh? So, what's the theory? Well, I took Canvas out on a trail today, and we saw that cougar.
- Oh no - No, that's the thing.
Canvas was great.
He responded to my directions perfectly.
So it got me thinking that maybe he was acting out not because he was afraid, but because he was sensing something going on with you.
So if there is something you're holding back, it would be helpful for me to know.
There isn't.
I asked you here to help my horse, Amy.
Not me.
So, please, don't play therapist.
Good night.
Good boy.
You did so good today.
Guess we just needed a little time together, huh? (CHUCKLES) Ho Hey! I'm glad I found you.
I wanted to apologize for last night.
- No, Jane, you don't have to.
- I wasn't being fair 'cause you don't know the truth.
I'm in the early stages of macular degeneration.
I'm I'm going blind.
Jane, I I'm so sorry.
I didn't mean to keep it from you.
I thought Canvas' issue was his, not mine.
But, of course, he'd sense my stress.
It makes sense; he's very intuitive.
The truth is I'm scared to ride, Amy, for the first time in my life.
I can, I can still see well enough, but my vision's getting worse by the day.
Canvas picks up on that; that's what he's reacting to.
(SCOFFS) An artist going blind.
It's just so horribly clich?, isn't it? I've built my career on painting horses out in the wild.
My art and my riding, they go hand in hand.
If I can't ride, I can't paint.
I disagree.
And I'd like to show you why, if you'll let me.
Okay.
We're just having fun, remember? Okay, I know.
(PHONE RINGS, GEORGIE BLOWS OUT HER BREATH) Hey, Dad.
No, the horse is on its way back now.
So I think that I should stay until No, that's a perfectly good reason.
Just look, a couple more days Yes, sir.
Yeah.
Understood.
I'll book my flight.
(BLOWS OUT HER BREATH) Wow! There she is.
You look amazing.
Oh, and we gotta go.
Yeah, I just need to grab my jacket.
(CLEARS HER THROAT) All right.
(SIGHS HEAVILY) (BLOWS OUT HER BREATH) (DOOR CLANKS) LOU: Are you guys nervous? I'm, I'm nervous.
Like I feel like this is a big deal, right? Hey, Dad.
Uh, maybe I should go up, you know, see if she's okay, feeling, feeling good.
Just don't give her another pep talk.
What do you mean? Telling Georgie that this was her big comeback? (SNORTS) Did you see her face? I thought she was gonna puke.
No pressure.
Just win it all.
Okay, you guys, I was just being supportive.
But you can be a bit intense sometimes.
Sometimes?! Are you kidding? (LAUGHS) I know.
So true.
- Okay, now hold on a second.
- (LAUGHS) Lou BOTH: (LAUGHING) - You guys - (LAUGHING) Lou I thought you wanted these two to bond? - Yeah, but - Well, look at them.
They're laughing.
I mean, who cares if it's at you? They're laughing.
(LAUGHING) (HOOVES CLOP) Hey, hey, hey.
Why the long face? Nothing.
Just family stuff.
They want me to come home.
What, so what, you're leaving? Yeah.
Isn't that what you wanted? No.
I want what's best for Georgie.
So do I.
'Kay, well, don't mess it up.
All right.
(PHOENIX NICKERS) (HOOVES THUD) LOU: Hey! You ready to go? I'm sorry, I I don't think I can do this.
LOU: Georgie Hey.
What happened?! We had this! I'm not ready.
And there's no "we" since you're leaving.
Wow.
So we're back to that, are we? You're just gonna push me away again, like Europe? Seriously, when are you gonna stop running? - I'm not running.
- Yes, you are! From anyone who dares chip away at that wall you've got built around yourself.
- That's funny.
- That's not the word that I was gonna go with.
You're mad at me for running from my problems when that's exactly what you're doing.
No, I'm not.
I'm here, aren't I?! Exactly.
You're here.
You didn't wanna join the family business so you ran away to Hudson.
I'm just an excuse so you can avoid your reality.
No, you aren't.
And I am facing reality, all right? I'm going home.
It's the last thing that I wanna do.
What I want is to be here with you a little longer.
I mean, this could be something, Georgie.
And I know that it's not convenient, but does that mean it's not worth fighting for? I don't know, but I wanna find out.
You just have to want that too.
Just so give me a reason to stay and I will.
Can you do that for me? Can you? This is why I said goodbye in Europe.
You shouldn't have come here.
There's no rule that the visually impaired can't ride, especially if they're experienced like you are.
You just have to trust your horse.
Well, I already do.
Absolutely.
You two have a great bond, but now you have to trust in it completely.
I want you to close your eyes.
Now clear your mind and focus on your movements.
You see how in sync they are with Canvas's? Yes, I think so.
Huh.
Good.
Now, remember how this feels.
And whenever you're out riding and you feel unsure, come back to it, to how these movements feel.
Because being secure with your horse isn't about seeing, it's about feeling.
- Just like painting.
- Exactly.
Okay.
I think you two are ready for a trail ride.
Okay.
(RIVER FLOWS, FISHING LINE WHIRS) Crazy night, huh? Women.
Cass is really giving me the silent treatment on this one, Jack.
Must be nice.
No, not really.
I don't mind all the stuff that Cass signs us up for, It's just like I got this feeling like she's doing it to hide how she feels, you know, about us not getting pregnant.
Look, Caleb, I know it's tough.
I feel stuck, like we're not moving forward.
Well before you move anywhere, maybe you oughta take a step back and get some perspective.
You have a wife who loves you, who wants to spend time with you that's good.
Sounds to me like you're at a bit of a crossroads.
You know something needs to change but you're not sure what.
Oddly enough, I can relate.
The two of you is enough, Caleb.
Trust me, it's all you'll ever need.
Thanks, Jack.
I owe you one.
(FOOTSTEPS SPLASH) (ROCK CLATTERS) Whoa! (LOUD SPLASH) (GASPS) Well, now you owe me two.
(WATER SPLASHES) I'm impressed.
You two have come a long way in a short time.
Starting to feel like my old self again, that's for sure.
Well, I can tell.
And pretty soon you'll be able to rely on Canvas completely.
What, like a seeing-eye horse? Well, sort of.
Here, let me show you.
(HOOVES THUNDER) I've never seen anything quite like you two.
You share a very special connection.
And so do you and Canvas.
You just have to trust in it.
Hmm.
Hey! Caleb.
I've been trying to find the right moment all weekend to talk to you, but I think we just kept fishing, so - I'm just gonna say it.
- Wait.
Me first.
Baby, I'm sorry I haven't been around.
I I needed to think.
And what I think is (SIGHS) I'm so, I'm so happy with this.
This, just the two of us, it's perfect.
Well, it's not gonna be the two of us much longer.
What? I'm pregnant, cowboy.
No! Yup.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh God! (KISSING) A baby! (BIRDS CHIRP, RIVER FLOWS) - Been thinking - Oh? (LAUGHS) and you might be right.
Maybe, you and me, we do need a bit of a shift.
And if retirement's really what you want, I'm more than happy to talk about it.
You know what? I've just been so Hey! Are you guys ready to go? Yeah.
CALEB: Yes! Yes! (RUNNING FOOTSTEPS) Guys! Guys! Oh, Jack, we're pregnant! - (LAUGHS) - Yeah! - Well, congratulations! - AMY: That's amazing! - CASS: Thank you.
- BOTH: (LAUGHING) I don't need to retire, honey.
I really don't.
I just need this, I need to breathe, and get perspective, and take a break.
- Yeah.
- Aw they're about to start the craziest chapter in their life.
I'm not ready to change our chapter.
I like the page that we're on.
Me, too.
Because um I'm um I'm clearly not quitting my day job.
- Wow.
- Uh-huh.
Yup, well, let's go celebrate with the kids, shall we? (LAUGHING) (LOCK CLANKS) I wanted to come say goodbye and to give you this.
Oh, you didn't need to do Jane, this is so beautiful.
Like I said, you never know when inspiration will strike.
Thank you, Amy, for everything.
Not only did you get me riding again, you, you got me painting.
You know that painting that you gave Ty - all those years ago? - Mm-hmm.
It's still hanging on our wall.
- It's very special to us.
- My painting? But it wasn't lost in the crash? I'd just assumed.
No, that's what brought Ty home to me.
And to say that I'm grateful to you is it's not enough.
Thank you.
(BIRDS CHIRP) (PHONE LINE RINGING) Hey! Made you some breakfast.
Are you okay? Honey, I'm sorry.
I, I didn't mean to put any pressure on you.
It's Quinn.
Quinn? Why? What happened? I just got in my head.
I heard him say that he was leaving and then suddenly, I was back at camp, facing this long-distance relationship that would hurt too much.
(FOOTSTEPS ON STAIRS) What's wrong? Did he leave? (HUFFS) Doesn't surprise me.
He left because I told him to.
- What'd he do? - Nothing.
He did everything right.
(SYMPATHETIC SIGH) I think I've just made a big mistake.
